(4) Bald Faced Hornet nest: this large nest is hanging about 10 ft above the walking path. It's about 16 inches long. They say these hornets are very aggressive, and sensitive to any disturbance, even the vibrations from a lawn mower. Hundreds of hornets can live in these nests. They will all die in six weeks or less, except for a few queens who will overwinter and start a new nest next year. In the meantime, I will make a big detour.

i took a walk today and checked on our school's sustainable farm. lots of bees pollinating the wild bergamot in the native prairie plot we planted in class a little over a year ago! (speaking of prairies i miss the prairie burnings we did this spring.) the nasturtiums i started in the greenhouse are still thriving. snacked on some oxalis and noticed someone's weaving project made of baling twine <3
to do today:
- take a walk
- shower
- PCA training
- PCA application
- find a cpr/first aid training
- dishes
- get crayon stains out of laundry
- clean sheets
- pick one floor and clean it
- finish unpacking
- read
- vocal practice
- clean piercing
