Erasermight AU where Shouta and Hizashi live together because Hizashi is worried that if no one is there to look after Shouta he’ll forget to eat or something and die (he’s not wrong). Shouta thinks it’s dumb but if his best friend wants to live together, well, it makes rent cheaper.
Hizashi is going out of town so he asks Toshinori to cat sit for him. Toshi agrees bc of course he would and Hizashi makes sure he’s okay with staying at the apartment to look after the cat. He gives Toshinori extensive instructions on how to care for the cat, named something stupid like “Lazy Boy” or “Beanie Baby” and Toshinori is actually excited to do his best.
He shows up at the apartment with a key and lets himself in and Shouta is just standing in the kitchen drinking coffee. “What are you doing here?” Shouta asks. Toshinori explains that he agreed to look after Mic’s cat. Shouta tells him they don’t have a cat. Toshinori asks who [insert stupid cat name] is then and Shouta recognizes it as one of the stupid nicknames Hizashi calls him.
(Toshi ends up staying because after everything Mic said about what the “cat” needed, he’s now really worried Shouta might die if someone isn’t there]

It’s simple. I get into an anime. I watch the musical adaptation. I see the highly underrated autism×autism rarepair interact. I go a little feral. This may happen again.

whats your fav flavor of erasermic … there are honestly so many options. friends to lovers … highschool sweethearts … enemies to friends to lovers …. then u throw shirakumo in and it can be a million times angstier or a million times sillier … smth abt aizawa disappearing for years to be an underground hero and mic pursuing fame (early morning radio host😭😭😭) u have it all … idk why i even asked what ur fav is when i dont know My fav. nine lives erasermic is probably up there though bc of how goofy they are. everything but married emic … wow …
ANY FLAVOR BESTIE I AM SO SERIOUS. married for ten years. pining for fifteen. friends to lovers. ENEMIES to lovers (I've had a villain Mic/vigilante Aizawa (+pro hero Shirakumo!!) AU percolating for literal months that I can't wait to share). they are THE most versatile ship on the planet. the angst. the silly. the LAYERS. (basically I feel this post kind of ways about them <3)
I'm not much of a shipping person in general but every once in a blue moon a ship will come along and bonk me over the head with the brainrot mallet and erasermic is one of those ships. when I DO do the shipping thing, I've always had a soft spot for friends to lovers and oblivious/mutual pining, so that's probably why I love canon compliant erasermic fics so so much. Nine Lives (by machiroads, for anyone who has not read it, in which case I cannot recommend it enough) will always be The Erasermic Fic to me. It's canon idc. but!!! there is room in my heart for so much erasermic. I will never run out of space for them. most long-winded way of saying any flavor but I mean it when I say I enjoy pretty much every iteration of this ship.
thank you sm for the message!! feel free to yell about Them w me literally any time!!

Why do people ship Aizawa with everyone when shipping Mic with everyone is SO much funnier? Micnight? Allmic? Erasermic? I don’t know the ship name but Snipe/Present Mic? Come ON!

idk i really like the genre of ships that are decidedly NOT soulmates...there's a level of imperfectness that makes it comfy and healing. gojo and nanami? satosugu definitely had that star crossed lovers soulmate thing going on, but i like the idea that with nanago they settle their souls with each other and find happiness together despite it all. same thing with erasermic. aizawa and shirakumo balanced each other out well, but erasermic as an old married couple? with shared trauma? that's good shit. joe and cherry? same thing. hirotaka and narumi? same vibe. on second thought, maybe i just like old married couple ships, because i think serirei also fits in this category. hopefully you get it

unnecessarily involved erasermic background au:
shouta comes from the family of a mid-level political type. no one supremely important, but important enough that he was given strict friendship rules in like, third grade, in the hopes of the political type getting traction and becoming more important.
between that and his lackluster quirk that only made other kids think of him as dangerous because who KNOWS what he would do once he turned their quirks off, he's a bit of a lonely little guy.
around the start of middle school, he's walking home, alone, kicking a can, all that stuff, and sees some blond kid about his age getting ragged on by some older kids. one of them uses their quirk and makes to hurt the blond, and shouta immediately erases it, without even thinking. when he jogs over and the kids realize that he's the reason their quirks aren't working, they hightail it outta there.
then, the blond kid, who introduces himself as hizashi, just explodes with thanks and praise, telling him it's such a cool quirk and he could be so cool with it, and is he going to a hero school for high school, and does he want to go to the same one and be best friends? and shouta is like. idk I need to go home. I'm not supposed to have friends unless my grandma likes them.
and he still thinks he's powerless, even once he gets into UA, but when the classes shift up for second year and he's lumped with not just the blond guy, but his friend, he starts to feel a little more comfortable with thinking of himself as a hero

Not art, but I got bored so here we are O: (well, it’s my art up there so that’s something?). My fanon interpretation of these two :D
Hizashi is, of course, very extroverted and loves being around people - dude works three jobs that involves interaction, so duh! Though Shouta is very introverted and needs his personal space, I wouldn’t say it’s a 100% thing. He’s not big on loud crowds but he enjoys quiet company. I think his idea of the perfect social occasion is just existing in each other’s space as each do their own thing. Meanwhile, Hizashi loves parties and being part of a crowd. Second one is tricky - Hizashi is established as a cooperative jack of all trades but considering how ambitious he is he certainly has a competitive streak. Shouta works well with others in a professional sense but less so personally. He’s not exactly competitive, and he pushed himself to prove his worth when he was younger, but the older he gets the less he cares. He knows his worth, he knows he’s capable, he doesn’t have to prove anything and so there is no need to compete... for the most part. He acts like he doesn’t care about the 1A-1B rivalry, but secretly he preens when his students one-up the other class. Arguing is tiring and often a waste of time, so Shouta will choose his battles carefully. He’ll argue if it’s important, otherwise he’ll just leave it be. Hizashi thrives on that shit - he likes a good “verbal battle” (it’s fun!), but he knows when to back off. I think Hizashi is one of the few people who can drag Shouta into play arguments and banter. Shouta isn’t the type to cry, so if and when he does it’s usually serious. With a few silly exceptions, e.g. I imagine they’d experiment with a substance or two in their early twenties (for science!) and he’d cry over kitten videos or something. Hizashi, when he’s not in his Mic persona, can and will cry at the drop of a hat. He has strong emotions and isn’t afraid to show them. The confession thing... it depends on the story, the situation, the mood. Though I feel Hizashi would be the first to say it, I think Shouta would show he’s interested in a thousand small ways. Hizashi would have more “oh fuck it, might as well get it out of my system and hope for the best!”-approach while Shouta has more of a “take it to the grave”-mentality. Shouta is very protective, but not obnoxiously so. He’ll back off and let people make mistakes and go into dangerous situations, but he’s sure to keep an eye on things and step in when needed. The only “exception” is his students, as we all know he’d rather crush their dreams than have them die young. Hizashi is also protective (he’s a hero for a reason!) but less so than Shouta. Related EraserMic as parents HC: they’d be pretty allowing about their kid coming and going and doing things as they wish, but they’d be very strict about the kid telling them the what/when/where/who details. They’d also be firm about the kid having their phone with them (and charged) when going out, They’d also agree on a safe word/phrase for if/when the kid wants to be picked up immedately, at any time and for any reason. Shouta keeps things to himself and he isn’t one to talk about his innemost thoughts and feelings. He’s learned to be more open over the years, but only really with Hizashi. Oh, and when he’s drunk. Hizashi is more open, but he’s a lot more guarded than people realize. Yes, he’s emotional and expressive - but people will mostly just see what Hizashi wants them to see. He can’t really hide anything from Shouta though. Hizashi is very balanced when it comes casual and formal, he’ll adjust to the situation. Though generally he’s pretty casual about things. Shouta is very casual, but knows how to act/speak/dress fomally if the situation calls for it (though he rarely needs to). I feel Shouta is very much an acts of service type of person - he shows he cares by doing, he’d rather act than speak. He’s also quite observant of the little things, so he’s sure to do Hizashi little favors that makes his life easier - without being asked and without drawing attention to it. Hizashi will return the favors but he loves giving gifts! He knows Shouta isn’t the materialistic type so he will usually buy him food and drinks rather than stuff. That’s also how he ensures Shouta actually eats and doesn’t rely solely on jelly packs. Shouta doesn’t particularly care about music - he likes it and he’ll listen to it, but he’s hardly an enthusiast. If he’s going to listen to something I think he’d go for something softer though. Hizashi loves music and will listen to anything - he’s a radio host and dj after all! I also like the idea of him playing more than one instrument and being good at singing, with singing being vital in him developing voice control (heh, Voice control) as a kid. They’re both “sporty”, though I’d say it’s more that they’re physically active. Hizashi is strong, but since he has such a powerful quirk he doesn’t have to rely quite as much on physical fitness. Shouta needs to be extremely fit considering his quirk and fighting style. I like the idea of them sparing when they have the time, or just generally working out together. Hizashi likes his morning stretches... Shouta likes them too ;D Shouta doesn’t cook and at most he might make instant ramen, but that’s okay because he prefer jelly packs anyway. Hizashi can cook a few dishes but he doesn’t do it particularly well. He doesn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to that anyway and would rather buy something ready-made or just go out to eat. Shouta does not do public displays of affection (it’s happened, but no PDA is the general rule). Both because he’s not big on showing sentimentality, but it’s also a matter of safety (they can’t risk drawing the attention of villains... or the media for that matter). Hizashi wouldn’t mind being more open about their relationship but he realizes the necessity of keeping things quiet - though he’d love to be able to kiss Shouta and hold his hand when they’re out and about! He also wish he could gush about Shouta on the radio. Shouta is very much in control and quietly dominant for most things in his life, but privately? I’d say he’s more submissive-leaning, it’d be a relief to lean back and let someone else take over when he’s off the clock. Hizashi likes things the way he likes them, so he’s dominant both privately and publically. He’ll take a submissive role from time to time though winkwink. Hizashi can be cute, Hizashi can be hot - get you a man who can do both! Shouta is hot, though Hizashi would argue that he’s absolutely adorable thankyouverymuch! These boys be leaning towards the kinky side of things - though they will happily do vanilla (and mostly do, because of limited time and energy). I imagine they like experimenting!

I went on a rant on my IG story a few weeks ago and just wanted to share it here cuz i went in depth and got a bit too passionate
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
transcript after cut
i fucking love mha
like its honestly my favorite show right now
is it perfect? fuck no
you have to be dumb as shit to think this show is perfect
there are so many things wrong with it omfg
but thats not what i wanna get into
what i wanna get into is the fandom and it portrayal of erasermic
EraserMic is probably one of the best things to come out of the show
Its literally the story of the two characters grieving the loss of a close friend and never really healing from it. BUT FUCKING NO
THATS NOT WHAT THE FUCKING FANDOM WANT TO FOCUS ON
THEY WANNA FOCUS ON FUCKINH "dadzawa and mamamic"
FUCKING SHUT UP
THEY REDUCE THESE COMPLEX AND INTERESTING CHARACTERS INTO CARICATURES AND OVER EXAGGERATIONS OF ONE ASPECT OF THEYRE PERSONALITY
AIZAWA
bros legit a dude that would sacrifice everything for the sake of other people
his self destructive behaviors are stated multiple time in the show and in vigilantes
he does not view himself as something that is important
he views himself as simply a tool for the betterment of other people
thats why hes a teacher
he literally doesnt own any personal items
all he has in his fucking apartment is his sleeping bag
he doesn't allow himself to get sentimental
after oboros death he became closed off and didn't allow himself to work though what happened
the only thing he focused was training
even to the point of ignoring his physical needs
he doesn't let himself get attached
he doesn't even open when mic tries to reach out to him
BUT FUCKING NOO ALL THE FANDOM WANTS TO FOCUS IN IS FUCKING DADZAWA
LIKE LET IT GO
YES DUDES A GOOD TEACHER
BUT HES NOT JUST THERE TO BE TIRED BITCH
WHY DO THEY FIXATE SO MUCH THE FUCKING TIREDNESS???
LIKE I GET "hahahaha funny trait" GET NEW MATERIAL OMFG
MIC
mic is so interesting to me cuz if the fact that "Present Mic" is simply just a persona
Mic is this outgoing loud person
Hes bombastic and enthusiastic
hes the fun guy
hes the guy that people go to when they want to chill and have a laugh
Yamada Hizashi is quiet and observant
He was the first person to suggest that there was a traitor in UA
He is the one that takes care of aizawa when hes drunk (i love the fact thats literally canon omfg)
Hes the one people see but dont notice
Present Mic is literally a Caricature of what he wants to be for people - easy and outgoing
THEY ALWAYS MAKE HIM THE PAPAMIC SHIT THAT I SEE OVER AND FUCKING OVER AGAIN
IT PISSES ME OFF SO FUCKIG. MUCH OMFG
One thing i saw someone point out is how you can tell when he is hizashi and when he is mic
When hes Hizashi - his eyes are visible
When hes Mic - all you can see are his glasses
Hizashi doesn't cope with the death of Oboro either. He never focuses on himself
He is always focused on what Aizawa feels. Which is why this shit is favorite
Its the fucking dysfunctionality of it
Hizashi never deal with his shit he just states whats happened.(ex. when midnight died - he just simply stated the obvious without actually confronting the subject at hand)
He is always focused on the others
(Hence, why he never told aizawa that they were actually going for his quirk instead of Oboro)
This is why they both work so well and dont at the same time.
They both use the same ideaology (putting other infront of you no matter what)
but using different methods
for aizawa its focusing on bettering himself to use himself as a tool to improve others
for mic its not focusing on yourself at all and putting all his attention onto others

They have loved you since you set foot on the school grounds. It was a platonic type of love, merely them being the guiding light for a bright pupil such as yourself. You had this passion, this hunger, this need to save the world. You wanted to only help people. Such an admirable desire. They couldn’t help talking about the goodness of your heart every chance Shouta and Hizashi had.
However, things changed once you turned eighteen. When you graduated, well, they no longer had any control over you. They miss holding you behind in class to talk with you a little longer. They miss the private lectures, the one-on-one training.
They would go home together every night, a quiet and somber mood filling the air as Aizawa pets his cat and Mic taps his pen, trying to come up with ideas for his podcast. He couldn’t think of anything as his mind simply went straight to thoughts of you.
“I miss her,” Hizashi admits to his dark haired boyfriend one evening during dinner. “I really miss her, ya feel me?”
“I know, but she’s a hero now. As much as I hate it, we have to let her walk her own path.”
Hizashi crosses his arms. “What if she gets hurt?”
That causes Aizawa to pause his chopstick to mouth movements. He puts the utensil down, thinking about multiple things that could happen to you. So many things could go wrong while facing villains. No, he hates it just as much as Hizashi, if not more.
“I’m not talking about this,” is all he says as he finishes up his supper.
The duo flits around in silence for the rest of the evening. They’re even quiet before bed, refusing to speak to one another until Aizawa hears the soft spoken words coming from his partner.
“I just want her to be okay.”
It pulls at Aizawa’s heart to hear something like that coming from someone he loves. All Aizawa can do is wrap an arm around the voice hero and pull him in close as they fall asleep.
———
It is merely a coincidence, a stroke of luck, that the pair happens to be out patrolling at the same time as you, something that has never happened before.
You usually work day shifts. However, you somehow got switched to the graveyard slot as one of the sidekicks got really sick at the agency you’re working at.
“Aizawa Sensei? Mic Sensei? Oh my gosh!”
They turn around, only to be enveloped in your arms. You hug them so tightly that it actually causes their breaths to hitch from the squeeze.
“I missed you two so much!”
Hizashi can only stare at you with lips slightly parted. Aizawa pulls himself together much quicker than that.
“Look at you. You’ve grown up quite a bit since we last saw you.”
And grown you have. The way you look in your tight hero costume…it doesn’t leave much room for imagination to say the least.
“Oh, it’s only been a year. I haven’t grown that much, Sensei!” you can’t help but laugh, fully oblivious to his meaning.
Hizashi finally manages to pull himself together. “Hey, what do you say we patrol together?”
Your shock at his question turns into one of a happy surprise. You nod your head in agreement, going off with the duo in excitement. You’ve never teamed up with either one before, so the chance at pairing up with both of them is just icing on the cake to you.
Hizashi and Shouta (mostly Hizashi) asks you questions about how your life has been since graduation, what it is like at the agency you’re working under, and so on and so forth.
As you’re about to answer another one of Hizashi’s questions, Shouta puts a hand up, signaling for both of you to shut up. He appears to have picked up on something. You want to ask him what it is, but you know that if you even utter one syllable, it could cause bad things to happen.
A gun shot fires, a man screams, a dull thud echos across the street, and a building burns with flames.
Shouta and Hizashi immediately jump into action.
“Hizashi, watch out for Y/N!” He yells the order as he swings from a telephone pole with his scarf.
You huff in irritation at what the raven haired teacher just said as if you can’t take care of yourself. Your quirk, water bomb, is strong enough to be able to keep up with the heroes.
But you simply cannot afford to not listen. Listening is the key to teamwork. So you run behind Hizashi as he spurs forward towards the blazing building.
You don’t know what caused the fire, but you shoot spheres of water from your hands, holding them out towards the building. You make the bombs as big as you can, but you can only do so much to try to cool down the heat.
Sweat beads line your brow as you focus all of your attention on the building. You notice how your energy is beginning to rapidly decline with all of the water you’re shooting. Shouta is off somewhere in the distance fighting while Hizashi is fighting nearby, keeping one eye on the villain and the other on you.
Everything is okay. You have things under control here.
That is until a bullet hits your lower back, narrowly missing your spine, yet still causing enough damage to the point where you fall over. There’s too much body in the way for it to be a through and through. It’s stuck, lodged somewhere midway between your back and front. You press a palm to the wound, trying to prevent the bleeding as you lay on the sidewalk, propping yourself up with your elbow.
So much blood is pouring out of your lower back like a scarlet river. Your hero costume is completely ruined as you lay in a puddle of crimson. You’re chest is heaving as you watch Hizashi run towards you. A dark haze coats your eyes, and your lids feel heavy. Every time you blink feels like a new weight has been added to your head. You struggle to stay awake, to keep yourself up right.
Yamada wraps you in his arms, pulling you onto his lap. “Fuck, fuck, fuck! No, you stay with me, little girl. You stay with me. Hey!” He slaps you to keep you awake. “Keep those eyes open. Don’t you dare drift off on me. Come on, come on!”
He pulls his phone out, calling an ambulance to get to your location stat.
The conversation goes in one ear and out the other with the woozy state you’re in. You’re too out of it to be able to tell what’s going on with the amount of blood you’ve lost.
Before the ambulance shows up, you pass out. You’re out for a while actually, a full two days to be exact. You wake up in a hospital, feeling drowsy. Looking at the multiple IVs, you guess you’re feeling kind of out of it because of pain medication.
Hizashi pulls on your wrist lightly, grabbing your attention. You look up at your old teacher with a light smile.
“Sensei…” Your throat feels dry like sandpaper, and your mouth feels as though you’ve been sucking on cotton.
Your bout of coughing causes Aizawa to gently bring a straw to your lips. You begin to sip whatever is offered to you, instantly gulping it down once you realize it’s water.
“Alright, that’s enough. Drink too fast and you’ll make yourself sick.” He takes the cup away from you, setting it down on the bedside table.
“We’re so glad you’re awake. You’ve been out for two days, kiddo. How’re ya feelin’?” Hizashi asks with genuine concern.
“I’ve been out for two days? Damn. Wait, what happened to the building? It was still on fire when I got shot.” You can’t bring yourself to yell your questions. You just don’t have the energy right now.
Aizawa sighs. “There were no civilians in the building. It ended up being saved by three other heroes. Don’t worry too much about it. We got the villains locked up. Everything’s fine.”
Hizashi moves his hand to the area right above your knee. “Kid, this happened to you because I wasn’t watching out for you like I should have. I thought I could fight and keep an eye on you at the same time, but you ended up getting hurt because of me. Sweetheart, I am so sorry that happened to you, but it will never, and I mean never, happen again. Okay? I promise.”
You’re not even sure how to respond. “Mic Sensei, it wasn’t your fault. It’s not like you shot me. I mean, this stuff comes with being a hero. I was focused on putting out the fire, you and Aizawa Sensei were busy fighting the villains. Don’t blame yourself, please? We were all doing our jobs. It just so happened that someone snuck up on me while I was distracted with fire control.”
Shouta shakes his head and grumbles slightly. “It wasn’t anyone’s fault, but we’re going to make damn sure that something like this never happens again. You’re lucky the ambulance got to you in time.”
Something about his words confuses you. “What do you mean? Are we going to patrol together more often now?”
“No, that’s not what we mean.” Shouta takes a deep breath before explaining, “Hizashi and I talked things over, and we’ve decided that you aren’t going to be a hero anymore.”
Bewildered doesn’t even begin to describe your current state. Eyes as wide as saucers regard your old teachers.
“You decided? You decided?!” You aren’t sure where this surge of energy has come from in your drugged up state, but you express it nonetheless. “You can’t just decide things for me, especially not something concerning my profession. I’m no longer a U.A student. I’m no longer under your care nor am I your responsibility!”
“Kiddo, I suggest you lower your tone. We’re still in a hospital, and we won’t allow you to disrespect us like this,” Mic Sensei warns you.
“What the hell is happening?! I want to go. I want to go home right now!” You struggle to sit up on the hospital bed.
Aizawa puts a hand on your shoulder, forcing you to stay still. “Listen to me, Y/N, this is for your own good. We’re not going to see you hurt like that ever again. This is us making sure of that. You’re going to stay with us, and that’s the end of it.”
A stray tear, infused with rage and bitterness at the situation, finds its way trickling down your cheek.
“Why are you doing this to me?” you whisper with resentment.
“Because we love you, and we want what’s best for you,” Hizashi squeezes your knee gently.
Aizawa moves his hand to the top of your head, petting your hair softly. “If we don’t keep an eye on you, who knows what will happen.”

Hello there! could we see a prequel of when platonic yandere Erasermic first saw Cloud quirk reader! I feel like the reader wouldn't exactily look like oboro, but then seeing that quirk and having that energetic personality would send the memories of oboro back into there mind
Tumblr media
These two mourn Oboro to this day. It’s a major part of both of their characters, woven into their beings. They won’t move on. They can’t forget. So when they see you, something kind of cracks inside them.
Aizawa pauses, and just… stares. His chest tightens painfully, as a deluge of long-buried memories gnaw at his mind. It’s easy to that he’d be the strong one, the stoic one. But he isn’t. He’s a broken man long burdened by grief. It’s clear he hasn’t managed to move on from losing Oboro in the slightest.
However, Hizashi was able to healthily move on to some degree and become a teacher, a DJ, a radio host, a hero. Sure, it’s possible that he uses his exuberance to cope with grief or to draw Aizawa out of his worst moments, but he stills manages to be sunny and bright. All the same, he possesses a well-hidden ruthlessness and an extremely powerful Quirk that he’s not afraid to use. The moment he stops smiling, it’s probably time to run and hide, because something is terribly wrong.
And when he sees you, he stops smiling. There’s a moment where his larger than life personality and cheery disposition both slip, leaving him in a rare state of shocked silence. Hizashi just stands and watches, eyes going wide behind his concealing sunglasses. His gangly arms drop to his sides, his every bit of attention focused on staring you down.
Maybe it’s some kind of cruel joke. Maybe he’s been hit by a Quirk, creating a tailored distraction to keep him from noticing an approaching foe. Maybe he’s just seeing things. But no, he isn’t. You’re real, with his personality and Quirk.
———————————————————————
“Oboro…,” Aizawa mumbles to himself, caught in a similar state to his loudmouth friend. His bloodshot eyes catch on your smile, watching as you chat with a friend. The two of you walk side by side, trails of vapor and fog drifting from your fingertips as you show off your Quirk. Your friend laughs in amazement, watching in awe as the clouds shift into different shapes and figures, bending perfectly to your will.
Once, Oboro had done the same for him. Whenever Aizawa seemed down, he’d whip up a cloud and shape it into the cutest kitten he could manage, often ending up with a horrifically disfigured mess that had his friend stifling a smile.
Words catch in his throat. He can barely think straight. It feels like he can’t even stand.
He stumbles through the halls, making the short trip to his classroom, still empty. He snatches his phone from his pocket, fumbling with it until he has his loud-mouthed on the other end.
“You saw them. I know you did. Why didn’t you… why didn’t you warn me?”
A loud sigh from the other end. “Sorry, Sho. The kid’s in class 1-B, so I figured I’d get the chance to tell you in person. Didn’t think you’d run into them so soon.”
He desperately racks his brain for something to say, some way to respond. Hizashi beats him to it.
“Actually, Nemuri learned before me, and didn’t say a word either. I think she’s a little broken up too, honestly. Least we’re not alone, right?”
At least they’re not alone. Aizawa would agree, but can’t manage to swallow the lump in his throat. He just holds the phone to his ear, wondering if it was a blessing or curse that you didn’t get put in his class.
“They seem like a good kid, Sho. I’m gonna keep an eye out for them.”
“So they don’t end up like Oboro” is the unspoken second half of that last sentence. Voicing it out loud makes it a legitimate fear. Leaving it vague means the image stays vague, the fear stays vague. Just an uncanny feeling of potential danger, rather than outright fear for a child’s mortality.
“You know what, Mic? I think I’ll keep an eye out for the kid too.”
Because he can’t bring himself to relive that scene ever again a child shouldn’t have to worry about getting hurt at UA.
So they’ll look out for you. Nothing strange about it. Nothing serious, no cause for alarm.
Not yet.
