I need some adult queer books; they don’t necessarily have to be romance (though I’m not opposed cause I love the genre) and I’m not against YA but yeah I need some recs please

Controversial opinion:
Sex is YA isn't a bad thing.
YA means Young Adult, and as a teenager, it is not for teens. If a teen reads YA, that is their choice, and they should be aware that as the genre is called Young ADULT, it is meant for adults.

Hii :)) I'm writing a fantasy ya story on ao3 called Oliver Burns, and I'd be thrilled if you checked it out since this is my first try at the fantasy genre

ngl, I'm beginning to take issue with how in conversations about anti-intellectualism almost automatically, the face of girls and women will be slapped on the problem.

Making Money for Teens by Phoenix Read |Book Review|
Making Money for Teens by Phoenix Read |Book Review|
I’m always looking for reads that make me think, and this short info read definitely did that. It was full of the normal get rich slowly tips that you run into all the time if you spend any time on Pinterest, but it was the tone of the writing and the way that it allowed the information to progress through the book that made it so different from the competition. The portion of this book that I…

Seeing this a lot in the indie book market with other authors works (I browse regularly as research for work) so here’s a hot tip for everyone out there. If you pick up a book that is clearly labeled YA/NA as the genre. And you give it a 2/5 star review, and your only critique is “I couldn’t connect to it because it’s a YA book”, then you’re being an asshole. You just plummeted that author’s overall ratings, and the books overall ratings, and affected their sales... Because you knowingly bought a YA book and then didn’t like that it was a YA book.
I’m all for leaving poor reviews if the writing is bad, the plot isn’t great, or whatever other reason you’ve got. But please, don’t buy a book that’s directed at a certain age range or a certain genre, and then leave a bad review BECAUSE IT’S WRITTEN FOR THE AGE RANGE THAT IT’S BEING MARKETED AT!

it's sad that phillip pullman didn't get to live a couple decades earlier because he seems to want to engage with discussions of story and literature and myth that there is not much attention for nowadays

Hey, what if Gortash saw Durge down in the colony? What if he saw and Durge recognised him? What if Durge, all bruised and broken, tried their best to approach the horrified tyrant? What if they managed to cling to his ankle, covered in blood and wounds so severe no one should be able to survive them?
And what if the tyrant simply... Took a step back when he finally met what might've been their eyes before?
What if he freed himself from their grasp? What if he simply turned around? What if he ran away from the horrors before him, refusing to acknowledge what has become of them?
What if his actions were what genuinely broke Durge? What if this single interaction was what caused their memory to truly, completely fail? What if it wasn't Orin, or him by extention, but legitimately his one wrong move that killed his beloved companion?
What then?

You can enjoy dark romantic and smutty stories, but it shouldn't be the ONLY thing you're reading.

I will say if we get a Rat Grinders side quest I think it would be a sick full circle moment for Brennan to play Kipperlily while someone else DMs. To me the rat grinders are living through a YA thriller/horror setting and I’d love to explore something like that when we’ve seen essentially a coming of age teen comedy kinda thing with the bad kids.

NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit By We Are Bookish |Review|
This little info booklet was put out by the NetGalley team to help Reviews and others use the site more efficiently. If something like this had been around back when I joined the site in 2017; maybe, I wouldn’t be playing catch up with all of my Arc’s the way that I am now. What can I say… I get request happy real quick. This booklet didn’t have any new info for me but I do like how it compiles…
