also also ALSO thinking. thinking. cas fucking letting go, pushing dean away from him, in purgatory. making sure dean saves himself but not letting him save him. and dean fucking convincing himself he was the one who let go, not cas, because that was easier. it just makes me wonder what dean told himself after cas pushed him away in 15x18, to make it easier than admitting to himself that cas loved him so much he would die for it

this show is so fucking funny. the winchesters are the only family ever that held the neurotypical child in a worse light than the very AutDHD one. “because i didn’t wanna bow-hunt or hustle pool because i wanted to go to school and live my life, which in our whacked-out family made me the freak.” like that’s hilarious. i just KNOW dean was getting a 60 or below in every class and his dad fucking loved him for it but sam gets straight As and Bs and his dad couldn’t give less of a shit. dean has never completed a piece of homework in his life but sam would always do his AND get it in on time and their dad discouraged sam’s way of thinking because he liked it better when they slacked off. dean’s only friends were other warriors cats kids and they were only friends for like a week because he was too weird even for them. sam made friends with or at least was acquainted with most of his classmates and that was seen as bad because he had less time to hunt monsters. literally magical.

sorry for theaterposting but the the general impression i'm getting from the rtc fanbase is that not a lot of people like or agree with the idea of noel catfishing mischa but i for one am super on board with it. i think it's hilarious.
think of your high schools soundcloud rapper (there's at least one of them). you don't know him that well and he's got goofy ass rhymes and he's just a funny character. now imagine your school and town are small and insanely boring, and you're the only gay guy there. you're bored as fuck and one day on youtube you see one of this soundcloud rapper's videos in your recommended and you think "hey, wouldn't it be funny if i pretended to be a hot girl and trolled this guy?" so you do and it's funny and you keep it going for a while because what else do you have to do. then it's been a couple months and you realize this guy is super serious about this relationship and you don't want to end it because you're still having fun, and also because deep down you know it'll hurt him and you've kind of gotten to know him. he ends up proposing to you and you don't know what to do so you say yes and you guys are having cringy google translate internet sex on the regular and he starts talking about saving money to go to ukraine where you don't live to meet you and you realize there's no way to get out of this without him getting hurt. you're vaguely considering faking either your death or your catfish persona's death because you love drama. then you go on a choir trip and the guy is there so you do what you usually do and reply to his texts whenever he's not looking. then you fucking DIE and you're like, this sucks but at least i don't have to deal with that fake online relationship i got myself into.
and then you look over and he's there next to you.

i don’t normally rec or even read much fanfic any more but this is a CRISIS ok (cont.)
there is so. much. content for deancas out there and i have incredibly high standards, several ancient ao3 bookmarks, can speedread, and want to spare you guys the experience of wading through it all.
i also have a section for spn femslash since I was pretty into that back in the day (sadly a lot less fan content for this :/)
I don’t really like au’s or pure smut (I honestly usually just skim or skip those scenes) so if you’re mainly looking for that kind of thing this probably won’t be very helpful to you. jsyk.
i’m not great at describing stuff but i’ll do my best, i’ll also try and add tw’s when neccesary.

So Says The Sword*** - explicit/85k. FUCK its good...au/time travel where dean is not pulled out of hell by cas and says yes to becoming the michael sword. honestly could serve as an alternative to actually watching the show, if you want to get into dean/cas without actually doing that to yourself.
Fata morgana.* - teen/6k, pst s9 finale. very bela centric and i love it, she finds cas looking for dean in hell.
Redemption Road -misc/600+k. an incredibly long fic from a collaborative writing group back in the day. canon divergent from the end of s6 on, has a cool take on godstiel and the leviathans, as well as the lovecratian mythos connection. ngl when i reread it i only made it about 28% in but imo the casual reader can actually stop around there, the rest concerns a lovecraftian apocalypse that is still good (i think i don’t remember it very well) but not required to enjoy the first half. if you prefer i have an ebook version i can send you on gdrive.
Someone Who's Feeling For Me* - mature/45k, s12. they run into lisa braeden and dean thinks cas is into her while cas thinks dean still likes her. treats lisa way better than the show ever did and the miscommunication is pretty funny rather than annoying.
a turn of the earth - mature/95k. time travel fic where cas from s10 keeps showing up in deans life from a few years before s1 to right before the hellhounds take his soul. slow burn, good character study, and at one point cas punches the dad in the face and it rules.
On the Wings of War - teen/85k, canon divergent s5. dean accidentally becomes the Horseman of War. plays fun, fast and loose with biblical lore, michael has some rights.
Named - mature/95k, alternate s5. EXTREMELY blasphemous in a fun sexy way. manages to predict metatron almost to a T. there’s one major character death and its literally jesus christ, everyone is very sad about it and it sets the rest of the story rolling. an alternate interpretation of cas’ mission to raise dean from hell which had me on the floor. ngl its kind of misogynistic at points, but its from 2010 and tracks with late oughts-2010 spn (sorry anna the author did you dirty here:/).
The Girlfriend Experience - explicit/15k. uhhh i don’t normally rec or even read smutty stuff unless someone i know is specifically asking for it but this has stuff like sam trying to be a good ally and dean thinking holding hands with cas is ‘kinda gay :/’ minutes after having gay sex with him.
i crippled your heart a hundred times - explicit/19k, s8. cas confesses his feelings and dean spends a long time getting his head out of his ass about it. truly hits different after the actual confession, despite being written six years early it feels like its actually what could have gone down more or less if the writers weren’t talentless demons who hate us.
My Roots Take Flight** - mature/125k. reverse au where cas is a hunter and dean’s an angel...OR IS IT???? an alternate retelling of s4. tw for briefly being set in a psychiatric hospital/the hospital being mentioned somewhat frequently throughout the fic, plus more references to torture in hell and heaven than usual.
The One Thing You Can't Lose* - teen/4k.you know those posts about how cas is a super-strong super-tough ancient warrior but he just lets dean tug him around because he likes it? thats it thats the fic.
Hands, From Which All Things Are Built - teen/14k, post s8′s ‘goodbye stranger.’ cas is on the run with the angel tablet but keeps in touch with sam and dean by text, he and dean still manage to be terrible at Actual communication.
Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day - mature/30k, post s11. a monster that takes the appearance of your soulmate leads to some wild miscommunications and dealing with years of repression, also dean gets to see cas’ true form which is always cool. tw for non-graphic mentions of underage sexual assault/sex work.
Down to Agincourt - mature/explicit/900++++k, endverse continuation. endverse!cas survives his encounter with lucifer and discovers another time-displaced dean from s7. i’ve only read the two of four parts but its really good, veeeeery slow burn, has a lot of fun oc’s and takes a rather surprising but (imo) entertaining and intriguing turn into Hellenic history and mythology. usual tw’s for endverse/endverse!cas but nothing graphic, it’s actually pretty light-hearted (relatively speaking of course).
Nothing Equals the Splendor** - explicit/8k, THEE finale fix it fic you’ve been waiting for! posits that the entire final episode was just a (very bad and lame) djinn’s vision.
like moses and batman and james dean - explicit/31k, post s8. explores dean’s trauma and internalized homophoba from his technically canon experience with sex work and its impact on his relationship with cas. the sex work itself isn’t really shown in any detail but it’s still a relatively heavy fic.
Crazy Diamonds - explicit/25k, s4/alternate s14. fresh-out-of-hell dean and dean from 10 years in the future are displaced from time and sent to each other’s present.
where the weeds take root - explicit/30k. au where the men of letters kick them out of the bunker and they accidentally move out into the country, get over their codependence and semi retire. featuring chicken coop building, sam volunteering at a dog shelter, gardening, and blissfully mundane domesticity.
No Resting Place - teen/6k. djinn dream fic, switches back and forth between cas’ dream of being married to dean and retired from hunting to the aftermath when he wakes up. tw for brief mention of suicide since, y’know, djinn dream.
any port in a storm - mature/52k. post s8 finale. cas and dean have to pose as a couple going through a rough patch for a case and actually deal with their emotional baggage, cas struggles with being human and metatron is up to stuff.
all this and heaven too* - explicit/7k. in the author’s own words ‘...a love letter to every trans person who ever projected onto Dean Winchester.’ absolutely unzipped me emotionally and theologically, its just. so good. tw for very brief mentions of internalized transphobia/dysphoria.
Because it is* - mature/6k, finale fix it. killing chuck does not bring back anyone back and the winchesters spend a very long time dealing with what they’ve lost, cas and dean SOMEHOW still manage to have signifigant communication issues even after the confession. tw for suicidal thoughts/brief attempt.
Vena Amoris and Other Old-Fashioned Bullshit* - teen/4k, s6. when cas fell for dean it automatically soulbonded/angel married them, shenanigans ensue when dean finds out during the angel’s civil war. funny and actually written back when s6 was airing so cas is still (or at least pretending to be) kind of an OP asshole which is fun.
Rinse, Repeat - teen/3k, s8. angsty character study of cas as he’s reprogrammed and trained to kill dean. not really dean/cas since its just cas’ pov of canon events but its beautifully written and ends with him snapping out of it through the power of love (also now a canon event!).
Emergence - explicit/59k, canon divergent after s11. dean meets a hunter he only recognizes as their friend claire novak’s missing father, but soon realizes he might be the answer behind the mysterious void in his memories and feelings (aka everyone’s memories of cas are completely wiped away for three years).

i absolutely adore your writing and think you’re very talented but have you considered trying to be more reader inclusive ? i mean no offense at all cause like i said i adore your writing but even by making the reader ellen’s daughter/jo’s sister in to be human, you’ve kinda excluded poc readers from getting fully immersed in the story :/
Oh, I have thought about it a loooooot, actually. But after a long consideration, I decided against it (for now, at least) for the following reasons:
A) I firmly believe the best writers write from experience. They write what they know. Now what does that mean? It means I’m a skinny, white millennial (f) and that’s what I know best. I can only write from my own experiences and not anyone else’s. I feel like I don’t know enough to do so. It’s probably because I’m an overthinking perfectionist and posting something that I’m not sure about would give me crippling anxiety. I don’t wanna fail and I don’t ever wanna offend anyone. So yes, it makes sense to me that my reader inserts reflect my own demographic. It is what it is…
B) I work in marketing, which means I spend 40-60 hours a week thinking about what other people think and then act accordingly. My day looks like this: Is this offensive? Is this too out there? Is this inclusive enough? Is this gonna evoke stupid comments or even a shitstorm? It’s giving me tons of anxiety on a daily. I even stopped using my private social media accounts because it’s just gotten too much for me. Tumblr, on the other hand, is my personal safe haven, my safe space, where I can have fun and be creative and not constantly care about what other people think. I love writing fan fiction because it relaxes me from my job and daily life, so I made it a point to always have fun with my private writing and not overthink everything. I honestly just wanna write what’s in my head. So yes, I write for me and choose to share it with you guys. The day I stop writing for myself is the day I stop writing altogether. The day I notice writing takes a toll on my mental health is the day I’ll stop because it’s just not worth it. I started this blog after a three-year long depression where I didn’t write a single word. I don’t ever wanna put myself in that place again. I promised myself I wouldn’t.
BUT that being said, you raise a very good point about Jo and Ellen! Yes, you’re right. I could’ve made a OC family for the reader. I just honestly didn’t think about it because every time I start a new WIP, I go through the SPN characters and take my pick and kinda match them how they fit the story best. In the case of TBH, the first few flashes of this fic came to me in a dream and Jo was her little sister there, so I just went with it 🤷♀️😂 As I said above, I stopped overthinking these things. I learned it’s best to go with my gut when it comes to writing. I literally just go where my fingers take me on this damn keyboard. (If I ever consciously write a POC reader, I would do tons of research beforehand and would probably insist on having my own personal POC Gandalf to guide me through it, so I don’t go down a wrong path somewhere, you know?)
However, I have a suggestion for you because I honestly feel bad. I don’t ever wanna exclude anyone. I’d hug you all if I could and I appreciate every single one of my readers and mutuals more than you’ll ever know 🖤 So, let’s use our imagination and re-cast some actresses! Seriously, keep the names and throw out the rest of your existing pictures of what they look like. It doesn’t matter. Forget the show. Supernatural doesn’t exist anymore. Cast some lovely ladies as your mom and sister in the roles of Ellen and Jo and have fun! Go nuts! (I’d personally cast Candice Patton as Jo because she’s an awesome badass too, but you do you 😉)
So yeah, I’m sorry if I’m disappointing you with this answer. I just try to be happy in my little corner here and do me. This is the one place where I get to be a little selfish and self-indulgent ☺️

Below, you will find information from the alpha for this month. This information should help you determine if this month’s alpha is someone you could work with.
If you are interested in working with this alpha, you will fill out this application form. (Pond members only. Joining is easy! Check out the Start Here link!)
Only the Pond admins will be able to see your username. The alpha will not know who you are. We hope this brings together people who maybe wouldn’t otherwise find each other, so this application process will be blind.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MIDNIGHT, PACIFIC TIME, ON THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH!
Based on the application information, the alpha will pick a mentee. Only after the mentee is chosen will the alpha know who they have chosen.
The pair will decide if they want a list of prompts to choose from, or if they want to work on a story idea the mentee has had on the back burner.
Together, they will create beautiful words.
The mentee will post their work on their own blog and submit it to the Pond for posting and to be added to the Program masterpost.

Must be SPN fan fiction.
All ships/pairings/kinks/genres allowed. The only restrictions are those set by the alpha and the mentee.

Tag your story with the appropriate trigger warning tags and list them in the author’s note.

There is no minimum or maximum word count for this. We don’t expect a novel, but hope for a one-shot.
The story idea MUST be something the mentee has not written or posted, yet. Ideally, to get the most out of this experience, the mentee will only have a couple of sentences about a vague idea, at most. We will provide a list of prompts if you like.
We would prefer that this not be Part 1 of a series. We don’t want to ask the alpha to commit to something larger than a one-shot. Please write a couple of sentences to give writers a feel for your style and approach to alpha reading. For example, what is your main focus when it comes to storytelling (i.e. details, feelings, actions)? Are you willing to help with flow or pacing? If a writer is having trouble with a certain sentence, are you willing to offer rewording/restructuring suggestions? Do you feel comfortable offering notes on the story if you feel like something is missing or needs more work?
I read with readers in mind and what would bother or confuse me if I were to read for fun. Does the wording and phrasing make sense? Am I confused by a sudden change in where people are in a room or in a fight scene? I tend to offer rewording or restructuring when I think something is off so that the writer knows what kind of changes I'm thinking of.
What do you feel your weaknesses are when writing or alpha reading? For example, do you have trouble with dialogue or action scenes? Is there a particular grammar aspect you have trouble with?
Writing wise, I've never been strong with dialogue but I've been working on it.
Alpha reading, hmm I think I mostly struggle with technique, like figuring out how to suggest more complex changes while not wanting to sound rude. Also maybe smut cause I haven't worked on that as much, and semicolons
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
An add on to my style as a beta reader: I do my best to get a feel of the writer's style and try not to critique or suggest a change when it's something that the writer seems to do a lot (excessive ands in a description, short and abrupt sentences, spelling the UK way instead of the US way, etc). That's also why I'm more than okay with talking outside of the doc or having the writer go thru my edits around the time I do them (if they end up doing so), cause I may miss something or misinterpret and it's great to get feedback if I'm on the same wavelength with them on certain things.
I pretty much go with what the writer asks for, help wise, and go from there.

Have you noticed how all the blogs in that so called nazi block-list are anti misha and consistently post anti misha content? Notice how that rollthebeautifuldean person is on a crusade to target these blogs but has barely any posts condemning hellers who legitimately post death wishes. Makes me suspect their intentions.
I'm not American. I have different political opinions/leanings. I come from a different culture. I'm not white if that matters. It feels like people like me are unwelcome in this fandom because I tend to have "wrong" opinions and don't subscribe to groupthink. I agree racism is bad (so are Nazis) but the thing is, I differ with the definition of what constitutes racism. A lot of "you're nazi" examples sound similar to "you're homophobic for not shipping destiel" accusations.
I'm also baffled by people who blindly believed and started blocking people without reaching out first. Perhaps it's a reflection of current cancel culture but it made me sad. I've felt unwelcome in this fandom for a while but now I'm genuinely thinking of leaving because I don't want to be labelled "nazi/white supremacist/whatever" by people I consider my friends simply for having a different perspective.

Oh yes, it's hardly a coincidence that all the blogs that asshole called out were anti-Misha, anti-Destiheller, and Jared-leaning or bibro blogs, or that their wife tried to do a blanket call-out against anti-Heller Jared fans a couple of days before. Both obviously have an agenda or at least a bias, and there are a number of folks who suspect that they're actually Hellers themselves since their behavior is eerily similar. I have my doubts simply because it's hard to believe such clearly immature and idiotic people would be capable of playing the long game by setting up these blogs for several months, but who knows? It's certainly rather suspect that the blog making those accusations is suddenly empty of content . . .
I can understand how you could be feeling alienated and disheartened by what's been going on, but please try to keep in mind that these assholes are a very small minority of the fandom who unfortunately happen to be very loud. We have ample evidence over the years from the various polls, surveys, and petitions they've touted to try to "prove" how numerous they are that Destihellers in fact number in only the few thousand, which means they make up <1% of the overall SPN audience of >2M viewers. Even on Tumblr, they make up <15% of the SPN blogs here from what I've heard. Hellers are generally the only ones who attack other fans as racist, homophobic, or whatever for having different opinions than they do, while most of the rest of the fandom is far more open-minded about people with different backgrounds and opinions. There are plenty of people I follow and interact with who are from other countries, who are POC, queer, disabled, etc., who have different beliefs, political leanings, etc.--but we're all united in our love of SPN and its characters. :)
I do agree that it was wrong that some people accepted those accusations without questions, and they should feel ashamed of themselves for blindly jumping to conclusions. Unfortunately it seems like whenever some drama starts, there are always gullible sheeple who make assumptions and take sides with little to no proof. Sadly that's human nature in general, and the current cancel culture does make it worse.
Still, like I said I think there are more decent people in the SPN fandom than bad ones, though of course you need to do what you feel is best for yourself, even if that means taking a break or leaving the fandom all together. Is it just me or has this fandom gotten kinda serious??
Like I still love spn and the fandom as a whole, it’s nice to be supported by people who share the same interests as you but everything’s been blown up almost.
For instance I know the ‘walker’ premiere’s soon, something that a lot of people have worked really hard on including Jared, and some people are being so horrible about it without even watching it. Basically a lot of people are trying to make it fail because of spn and the controversy surrounding the ending, which I think is so childish and selfish. I mean if you watch it and don’t like it fair enough but if it’s just because of Jared being in it or because you didn’t like the spn finale what’s the point?
Everyone has their own opinion on the ending, which is fine, but to come for the actors and their career is so wrong and messed up.
Not only that but as a result of this the spn fandom is getting a bad reputation as toxic and immature (a lot of people assume were bitchy teenagers like???) I have several problems with that stereotype in itself but that’s not the point.
I just feel like it’s not about enjoying the show any more, but maybe that’s just me. I would love to hear your thoughts on this because you seem like a genuinely nice and friendly spn blog. Thank you, sorry it was long.

I’ve talked about this whole thing with a lot of different people, and the whole issue still doesn’t sit right with me, but I’ll give you my thoughts and opinions and everything based on the talks I’ve had with friends/family who are also in the fandom.
And before I get into my whole big long shpiel, I’m gonna say it now:
I don’t want to argue with anyone in the comments.
I don’t want a bunch of hate.
If you don’t like what I say here, then scroll past it and ignore it. If you wanna unfollow the blog, that’s fine.
But this person is asking me for my thoughts, maybe because they’re feeling hurt and confused by this fandom right now, like I am, and I don’t blame them, so I’m gonna tell them what I think, which means telling all of you. And if you don’t like it, then ignore it. But I’m not gonna fight with people. I will delete rude comments, because I don’t want the toxicity.
I do try to keep this blog as positive, happy, and uplifting as possible, and I’m going to try to keep this post as positive as possible as well, but I, admittedly, have been very angered by some of the behavior of the people in this fandom, so if I come off as short and upset, I apologize in advance.
All of that said, here we go:
Yes. I agree with you 100%. I don’t know what happened, and I don’t know what it is, but the controversy over the finale created such a toxicity in the fandom that is killing me.
I have always been proud to be in the fandom because we are a family. The SPN Family has always been a force for good: donating to charities, fighting for people’s rights, and just in general promoting love, kindness, and happiness.
So to see all of that falling apart because of an ending?? Of a TV show?? It breaks me. It hurt my heart. When the controversy first started, I was in tears over everything happening, because I was heartbroken.
Hearing that SPN fans were scaring actors and other fans off of social media because of their hate over the ending was one of the worst things I’d ever heard. And the fact that it only continued to escalate honestly made me wish I wasn’t in this fandom, if only to avoid the association. I even started avoiding a lot of my favorite SPN creators because they were being so toxic about the ending.
Look. I loved the ending, and if you hate me for that, it’s fine. But I did. I thought it was perfect. I know there are a lot of people that didn’t. And that’s fine. We can agree to disagree. If you hate the ending, you have a right to your opinion.
What nobody has the right to do, though, is hate on other people for their opinions, in any sense of the word.
Jared Padalecki should not be getting hate because he loved and was proud of the finale.
Jim Beaver should not have gotten hate because he was in the finale and was happy to be a part of something so beautiful.
Misha Collins should not have gotten hate because he expressed his opinion about Cas’s ending and everything that came with the finale.
Yes, they’re celebrities. Yes, they play these characters. But they are also people. They are human.
This entire family has been built on the fact that these actors put us on their level. They respect us and treat us like we’re all equals. Don’t we owe them the same courtesy?
This is getting a little preachy, but my point is that yes, this fandom has gotten toxic and serious and frustrating in a lot of ways, and it really hurts me on a personal level, because I love this family. I bragged for years about how positive the energy in this fandom was, and how open-minded and warm and welcoming everybody in it was.
So to see it getting to the point where these toxic people are making a bad name for a fandom that I’ve praised ever since I joined it hurts. It hurts a lot. Even writing this is making me really emotional.
Now. All of that said, I want to do my best to give you a light at the end of the tunnel.
I truly believe that the true SPN Family is still out there. Whether people liked the finale or not, the fans who are screaming at actors and hating on fans who did like the finale and running stars off of social media because of their opinions are not SPN Family members. They may be Supernatural fans, but they are not family. Because I still believe that the SPN Family is filled with kindness and goodness and love, and I know that there are those of us out there who are positive. But, unfortunately, toxicity is louder--the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
My hope, though, is that, down the line, it’s the positive legacy of this family that lives on. Because yeah, this all started because of a TV show, but it created something even bigger. And the people who are going to be surface level and hate on the show and the actors and the fans and everything because of the plot of the last few episodes don’t see the bigger picture, and, hopefully, by default, they won’t want to be a part of it.
But those of us who still appreciate everything this show created and everything it stood for--whether we liked the finale or not--know that just because the show ended the way it did doesn’t mean the legacy of the actors, characters, fandom, or anything in between has to change or go away.
The SPN Family has created something wonderful and beautiful. And yeah, our legacy looks a little tainted right now. But years from now, those of us who are truly members of the SPN Family--and not just the SPN fandom, because that’s an important distinction--will be able to keep that positive legacy going for years to come.
At least, that’s what I’m hoping.
I’ve thought about this a lot, and I’ve talked about it a lot, with a lot of people.
And while I know everyone acting up over Walker was recent, I do feel like, all things considered, the toxicity is calming down, to a degree, and I like to think that it’ll slowly just fade out--or, at least quiet down.
My hope is that, as the toxicity dies, the positivity will reign again, and everyone will slowly remember what this fandom should really be about--family and love.
Maybe this was too preachy, and maybe this isn’t even the type of thing you wanted to hear, but I hope that what I said gives you some comfort for a better future for this fandom--no, this family. It can be hard, with everything going on, but know that there are still positive people left. I’ve found several myself that I’ve latched onto to help me get through the negativity. And, in the end, love always wins. And family--true family--always has your back.
And, hey, in the wise words of Dean Winchester:
“A wise man once told me, 'family don't end in blood. ' But it doesn't start there either. Family cares about you, not what you can do for them. Family's there; for the good, bad, all of it. They got your back, even when it hurts. That’s family.”
And that family is the one that’ll come out on top.

Why Jensen can not control his body near Misha? Why he can't hide his reaction though Misha apparently can ?
Hey! Thanks for the question!
Let me preface this by saying that I do not know any of the people involved and this is pure speculation.
I also want to point out that while this post contains Cockles content, this is my own head canon on the two of them, and should never be pointed out to them nor should they be asked about any of this. Nor should their wives.
On this blog, we do not believe that any relationship between Misha and Jensen is cheating on their wives. While we know Misha and Vicki practice polyamory, no such statements have been made by the Ackles. But considering Dee’s obvious love for Misha, the assumption is that any relationship is consensual among all four of them. We respect and love the wives. And any intolerance or disrespect toward them won’t be accepted.
We all know Misha has tumblr, if he’s trolling around, that’s on him, as he knows this is where the fandom discusses and shares this sort of thing. This is largely a site for fandoms. But on the .0000001% chance that he or anyone he knows sees this, absolutely zero disrespect or offense is intended.
This information is my own theories and in. I way represents the thoughts of Misha, Jensen, Danneel, or Vicki.
It’s funny you should ask this, because I literally just came up with a theory about this tonight. 😂
It was while discussing Jensen and acting with Misha or Dee in the future and if he’d ever be able to act with them and not play a character in love with them.
In a nutshell, could Jensen Ackles act in a project with Danneel Ackles or Misha Collins and not come across as a puppy in love?
And the answer I came up with is kind of surprising.
Danneel? Yes.
Misha? No.
You may be going, but Jen, isn’t that backwards? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
One might think so.
Initially.
But think about it.
First, we know Jensen is really good at poker. The cast has had stories about playing poker that they’ve told at cons on at least 2-3 occasions.
I got the impression he takes it seriously.
We also know that Jared can’t make him break on set, or that’s it’s difficult.
So, why then, does Jensen act like a puppy every time he’s around Mr. Dmitri, but not his own wife?
Well, he does act dopey around Dee.
But the difference is he’s allowed to be dopey with Dee.
I think it’s more to do with the fact that he feels like it’s okay to show he loved Dee in public. That love is allowed to be externalized and he doesn’t think about consequences or reprocussions. It just is.
But he doesn’t feel like he can do that with Misha (maybe, again, this is all speculation). Possibly to the point where you tell yourself not to do something and it becomes the only thing you can do.
We know Jensen is shy. So in the beginning I think he was somewhat better at keeping himself in check. As time passed by, especially post breakup and reconciliation, he became more secure in however him and Misha define what they have.
And that comfort, and probably Misha (god, I don’t want to use this word 😂) influencing him (���🤣🤣) and helping him to get more comfortable in his own skin (I’m sure Dee helped with that too!) he just eventually stopped giving a fuck.
Now, my Misha and Dee comparison. From her time on SPN, we see that they can work together without him acting like a fool around her. And this, I think is because he’s never felt like he had to hide his love for her. Or pretend it was less than what it is.
But he still worries about Misha. While he may be out of fucks in how he acts around him (especially while he’s been drinking at jib), he still worries about being too outside the norm. So he can’t externalize his feelings for Misha, publicly.
As for Misha and him being able to not act like a school girl with a crush?
While rarer, Misha has his moments of getting lost in all that Jensen is.
But I think Misha has always been comfortable in who he is. Vicki has written a book on threesomes and discusses polyamory, and uses real life examples of their relationship and how they’ve been with other people (I’ll preface this but with the fact I haven’t read the book, but from what I gather from some posts and reviews on the book, it’s implied that some of those relationships Misha has had were with women and men) and how polyamory is something that works for them.
He’s never wanted to be normal and he’s never apologized for who he is. So I think that lack of an internal struggle makes it that he doesn’t have an external struggle over showing what he feels.

This is old news but I didn't see a post about it when I was going through your blog. So as you might know Misha is now doing Cameo videos for money to interact with his fans.
One particular fan paid him $300 to ask him to describe a "destiel kiss" and to read her destiel fic. misha sent her a 15 second video back saying he didnt have time for it and then didnt even answer her question but still charged her the $300 for nothing.
Basically every question he gets is destiel coded and its starting to get sad. He clearly doesn't want to answer them.
Its been 5 months sincs Spn's finale, how long does he expect to live through destiel and not move on to something more? Like a job?
Do you have the actual video to share? If true then I think he used this girl as an example and warning to others of what not to ask of him. Him keeping the money sends a clear message to shippers of the consequence if they try to pull similar requests on him.
Do I agree with what Misha did? Yes and no. While I have no issues with Misha vacuuming money from his gullible minions, my main criticism is as entertainers you perform for the fans that show up, whether the venue is a stadium or a small club or 1000 people showed up or only 10 showed up. You perform the same no matter the crowd size. That was my issue with him for not headlining his own convention for the full weekend in contrast when he was willing to work a full weekend in the J2-led conventions simply because the crowd size is 4 times bigger than his own.
Ethically Misha should refunded that girl’s money. She had a specific request and if he wasn’t going to fulfill it then he should at least give her a video of encouragement and well wishes. But again I think his purpose was to use her as an example/warning to Destiel shippers and show them the line he won’t cross.

Meh, it’s what most lower-tier actors playing 5th wheel characters do, ship bait their fans. Star Wars Oscar Isaac did it to John Boyega who ignored him and was bitter that his own character didn’t get a canon ship with Daisy Ridley’s Rey. Its not personal, its busness, literally. Misha had the pooping heart necklace and mix tape keychain ready to go as soon as the opportunity presented itself. There are non-shipping Cas fans but they’re not the ones ponying up the big money on him, and why he pandered hard to the Destiel crowd. I mean, can you really blame him? I gave his cameo 6 months before most of the shippers tire out, then his fees go down and Cas fans move in.
On another note, I’m impressed with Loni Anderson’s cameo, she has a different outfit for each message and she looks like a million bucks. She clearly put effort for her fans.
Where as others have clearly churned out several messages in a day while sitting on their couch and wearing the same shubby clothes.

I think a lot of the people who fall on the “dark themes in fiction are morally wrong and you are morally evil to enjoy them” side of the literary discourse might also be the same kind of people who haven’t yet learned that it is not other people’s responsibility to manage your mental health and your trauma responses.
I think a lot of you haven’t come to grips with the fact that other people aren’t setting out to hurt you when they create or do things you find upsetting.
If I write, say, a sexual story that’s dub/noncon, I’m writing that for me and others who might like that content. I am EXPLICITLY NOT writing it for people who are triggered by that. I am not writing it because I want to hurt you. I’m not writing because I want it to happen in real life. You know what I appreciate about What We Do in the Shadows. They got fat characters that are likable and sympathetic and aren’t just there to be a walking fat joke. Or when they’re the butt of the joke the punchline isn’t just “ha ha this fat ass,” and also, they’re not treated worse than other characters of similar caliber.
Specifically fat vampires!! I’ve literally never seen any fat vampires in popular media before, at least not any that were portrayed positively/endearingly, let alone as high society fancy types like Laszlo (yes, he’s as goofy as the rest of them are, but he’s still a Gentleman(TM) )
And Jenna. Jenna was so sweet and endearing. I never felt like she was treated cruelly; the humor around her was the very relatable humor of being tossed into a new situation that’s Just SO Much All the Time and doing your best. It’s literally such a huge deal to me that Nadja turned her because she saw herself in her (not just because she wanted a new project) and then later, when trying to teach her to be a seductive vampire lady, there wasn’t any discussion of “you have to change your whole appearance and become slender.” At most she put on a little makeup that looked like a normal person’s makeup. But she rolled up to that party with a bulky ass backpack and clothes that matched her regular style and Nadja believed in her to succeed just the way she was
And honestly I know it’s because vampiric hypnotism means you can get what you want almost regardless of how you look but that’s WHY it’s a big deal. So many other media would show this girl getting a huge makeover and aesthetic change before letting her be successful, even though it doesn’t take that big of an effort to hypnotize someone. It’s good and important to me that Jenna was allowed to stay both fat and nice-but-average looking while also successfully discovering what her special power was and getting a handle on things
And can I just say how much Guillermo means to me outside of just being another fat likable character. Maybe I don’t watch enough shows but I just. He’s a soft spoken and mild mannered Latino who dresses like an eccentric professor (and clearly has a good deal of moral complexity just given…you know) and was a baby goth that latched onto Armand for being a Latino vampire. Like hi thank you for the goth Latino representation. I can’t wait to see him fucking snap from not being appreciated I know it’s coming
Look I love the hot ripped vampires you get in most media but it’s very nice to see someone who looks like me get to be one too. I think we all like fantasizing and it’s nice to not feel self conscious in my fantasy worlds too

One of my friends wrote a thing about book vs show Aziraphale and asked me to post it here. Please enjoy (or don’t).
Why I Hate TV Aziraphale
disclaimer: I am aware many people love and relate to him, this is just why I Personally fucking hate his guts.
I like book Aziraphale. The whole point of book Aziraphale is that he and Crowley are just two people doing their jobs even though there is essentially no difference between their two jobs. Lampshaded their New Years resolutions being the same outcome with different reasons. Like the themes throughout the whole book. Book Aziraphale is a great example of nice is not kind is not good. Book Aziraphale is actually kind of a dick "just enough of a bastard to be worth knowing" but he's still Good. He still wants to help people. Just like Crowley.
I think book Aziraphale could eat tv Aziraphale for breakfast. book Aziraphale is a bitchy murderer who likes fancy things and dicking around with Crowley. Book Aziraphale is an Angel in the sense that he Is inhuman in viewpoint and behavior. TV Aziraphale is so so scared of not abiding the will of heaven. He's so unwilling to take risks or be his own person. despite being The Guardian of the Eastern Gate. I will also complain about how heaven and god are represented in the show. (I know he has a different arc in the show. I'm just saying I hate his show arc.)
I like Crowley. I actually sort of like TV Crowley as well. I think he's one of the more likable parts of the show. However. I Hate his relationship with Aziraphale in the show. They are supposed to have been friends for 6,000 years. not. Aziraphale constantly using him as an excuse and being awful to him because he's a demon. oh I know TV Aziraphale cares about him. but caring does not stop him from being awful. God. the way that Aziraphale's relationships to both god and heaven were altered for the show is the main factor that makes me hate him. Mr. Gaiman. why did you decide to not only make god definitely a real person but also the narrator. it completely undermined the original books message about fate and free will.
Also. making Aziraphale legitimately believe in heavens propaganda ruined his character. the Point is that at the end of it all he and Crowley are just people. who are more alike than different. and that maybe we make our own fates. or maybe not but all that matters is the world and the people around us. but no. instead u decided to make a story where it's ok to be different Because God Said So.
God Again. listen i just. because god narrates it implies that she Is in fact "playing a game" with the characters and that everything that happens Is from Her Plan. Which means that not only is free will not even real but Also that she Purposefully decided that Crowley HAD to fall and suffer and be cast out. And for what??? to prove that heaven and hell are both evil? to make Aziraphale a better person? Just because she wanted to?? I know this point wasn't really about Aziraphale but She does heavily impact his character arc.
He does not feel like an angel. Book Aziraphale was much more of a timeless being, show Aziraphale is almost just a super-powered human. Again TV Crowley fares better with this partially because of his "snake characteristics" and in the way they represent his "gender" tho that is also #Problematic in a number of ways.
People keep comparing him to/ claiming he's better than Castiel from spn. and uh. angels can be different. just because they are both bitchy and gay does not make them the similar or replacements for each other. and Castiel could crush TV Aziraphale like a bug. Also. Aziraphale is not "better rep" than Castiel. they are both questionable rep at best, and Castiel at least actually confessed to being in gay love onscreen. and it doesn't matter. (yes i am a spn fan)

So as mere speculation about why spn suddenly made an about-face with destiel after the research happened that ties in with an author whose books I find especially awful and talk about a lot on my blog: TPTB realized how many people know Dean is bi and that destiel is hugely popular and panicked that this character they considered straight and this couple they considered brotherly, not romantic, was seen as oterhwise. The author of the books I’m referring to had two male characters and two female characters who readers (arguably a much, much, much smaller portion than spn’s destiel shipping and Dean is bi-confirming fanbase) really shipped as m/m and f/f couples.
The author, upon realizing she had accidentally written two relationships that could be read as really fucking queer decided to go all-in with making it abundantly clear that these four characters were actually straight as the 1.9-mile-long structure nearby the Stanford Linear Accelerator (which is evidently the straightest object on earth) by shoehorning every character into a bland m/f relationship (and they’re not bi or pan m/f relationships, no, they are heterosexual as fuck). By the end, the two male characters, who had grown up together as best friends, one of whom sacrificed everything to protect the other and the other of whom stood up to his dad to protect the other, had, if I recall correctly, one scene together, their reunion scene. I didn’t have high hopes for its construction, but it was worse than I expected. The two female characters, one of whom changed her entire outlook on life after meeting the other and the other of whom realized she was more than her abusers had made her out to be and that there was so much more to be had from life than mere survival, had, I think, not one scene together by the end of the series. Both female characters have bland love interests (one female character ends up in this weird there-but-not romance with one of the aforementioned male characters, while the other male character winds up with a woman who exploited him when he was disabled and then healed him by tying his life to hers in some fucked suicide pact magic shit).
The author didn’t want her characters to be perceived as queer, so she went above and beyond to drive home the point they absolutely, positively, manifestly, categorically, are straight and that there is no romance whatsoever to be found. To me, after reading that destiel research post and seeing how much the author of it talked about Dean being bi and destiel being real and both those things being hugely popular and loved and supported and hoped for, I think TPTB realized that Dean is being seen and written as bisexual and that destiel is being seen and written as canon (or at least headed that way) and, since they are either homophobic or bronlies themselves, or hell even scared of making the show as powerful and meaningful as it can possibly be for the queer community, they had to go above and beyond to make destiel absolutely not canon and Dean absolutely not bisexual, going so far as to all but literally gag him and queerbait and bury the gays. And it’s so goddamn disappointing, so much so that I am both not surprised at all and completely flabbergasted.
@spaceshipkat my friend, I don’t think I can add any more words to this spec. YES. Publishing it for all to see because yes, all of us who screamed that CW WERE HOMOPHOBIC COWARDS AND THEY GOT COLD FEET!!!!!!!!!!! were right, then.
Again, I feel so much worse than I felt since the finale, and that’s saying something.
White cishet capitalism was the victor.
I’m just weeping in anger, in heartbreak, in sheer crippling GRIEF, over everything Destiel themselves, Dean and Cas as individual characters, and this goddamn MAGNIFICENT Destiel fandom have built from the ground up for so many invaluable years and then LOST in the span of 45 minutes.
Reduced to rubble, shafting their legacy.

Thank you for answering my question! I was the one who asked if it was the norm for this fandom to use the LGBTQ+ community as a defense for their very disgusting behavior. Thank you for being honest about this fandom. I noticed the hate towards the actors and other people involved with making this show a few times, but I really got into this fandom a few weeks ago and saw how many people hated on Jared and Jensen after the latest con. Honestly the things Jared said were not really offensive, at least to me, but I Honestly the things Jared said were nice to hear. It was pretty cool seeing someone defend the Platonic love presented in spn openly. It just seems strange how some people weaponize sexuality, which can and is very important to a lot of people to make a point about fictional characters. Can you recommend any blogs to follow? Sure! To be as fair as is possible, the answer Jared gave wasn't particularly direct or coherent. However, I think anyone who cares to understand what he was trying to say can understand it pretty easily, though: there are many different kinds of love outside of sexual attraction and the show was always about those other kinds of love. Especially in the context of Jared having said before that he particularly liked how Supernatural was never centered on romance. I think he got tangled up a bit in his words trying not to offend or devalue other interpretations like that of the person asking, which was awkward, but there was nothing objectively offensive or unexpected in what he said.
The problem is that those certain D/C shippers (we coined the term 'destihellers' to refer specifically to the entitled bully contingent of the ship) were never going to accept any answer but, "Yes, Castiel's confession was 100% romantic and Dean understood it that way and would absolutely have reciprocated if given the chance." They've spent years insisting the real One True Story of this show was a D/C romance, feeling superior for their ability to decipher all the totally intentional elaborately hidden clues to that secret storyline (like Dean looking at someone wearing tan meaning he was pining for Castiel) and mocking, slandering, and harassing anyone who didn't agree. Part of that has been spending a year as of today insisting there was literally no other possible interpretation of what Castiel said - even though had the writers simply substituted "in love with" for "love" it would have removed all ambiguity. So Jared's answer acknowledging that the scene left room for other interpretations and wasn't explicitly romantic just because Castiel said the word love is completely unacceptable and made them disproportionately angry.
This is not remotely this first time this has happened. Generally, after either J says anything about D/C not being the point of the show or Misha not being a lead equal to them, this particular group of fans manages to find *something* to be deeply offended by. Heck, right now? Some of them are angry that Jared trended last night for tweeting about Walker because they saw his very existence on SM as encroaching on their intent to spam today on the anniversary of that episode's airing.
It's a great thing that fandom can be a more inclusive space where people from various groups can feel safe revealing aspects of themselves that face widespread discrimination IRL. It's not a great thing that some people have seen this as the perfect way to win petty fandom arguments, insisting anyone who disagrees with them must be -ist/-ic towards the whole group they belong to.
I don't think I'm really the person to ask for recommendations, as I haven't kept great track of which blogs I follow are specifically just the bro bond and not bro bond plus wincest, because as the core canon content focus is similar there's a lot of overlap. So I'm gonna toss this one to my followers/people who see this post if they wanna make any suggestions on good blogs to follow for celebrating just the canon platonic relationships. Anybody?

okay was anyone gonna tell me that the s6 blooper reel features the bit in 6x01 where lisa asks dean to come to bed but this time when he says he'll be there soon lisa pulls out a riding crop causing dean to gleefully leap out of his seat and follow her out of the room or was i just supposed to find that out from an anonymous commenter online

Would you mind giving some examples of sera gamble's antiblackness? It doesn't surprise me at all bc *gestures at the show* but it all runs together in my memory and I can't place any eras besides kripke s1-4
yeah sure! the show in general is racist ofc, but i think her writing consistently depicts black men as menacing and villainous.
gordon walker's introductory episode is perhaps the first ep in the series that attempts to address the issues with hunting and how it's populated by predominantly white vigilantes with guns but it also uses a black man as dean's evil foil! again, predominantly white vigilantes but it just has to be a black man we see menace & hurt innocent white vampire amber benson while the winchesters look on in horror.
if bloodlust is bad, fresh blood in s3 makes things so much worse because at least with the aforementioned you can rationalise it as sterling k brown being the best actor who auditioned but fresh blood is. it's. well you get sam & dean decapitate harmony kendall in the first 5 minutes alone but then vamp!gordon decapitating a bunch of white blonde lady vamps is proof of how scary & evil he is. very obvious white woman who crosses the street to avoid black men vibes from that ep. oh, and vamp!gordon avoids drinking blood until he suddenly decides to pin dean against the wall and feed off of dean's neck (suggestively!) before sam & gordon fight and then sam fucking decapitates him with razor wire. i swear before i saw HOtG this was hands down my least fave ep.
if we're talking gamble era in general i'm thinking of raphael as the big bad of s6 but i also watched s6 more than a month ago and have forgotten so much i can't fully get into it. OH YEAH just remembered how the alpha vampire is played by *drum roll* a black actor! what's more is he's the ONLY alpha depicted as a child predator - he's not a sexual abuser, sure, but he canonically abducts children to feed off of as a ~delicacy.
the other examples i'm thinking of that aren't as bad but cannot take in good faith are:
sam & dean torturing a demon in a black vessel in 3x15/time is on my side
ruby temporarily possessing a black maid in 4x09/IKWYDLS and it being played for laughs
lisa's black boyfriend getting his neck snapped by demons in 6x21/let it bleed after 10 seconds of screentime
tl;dr idc how much people hate gamble for the magicians BYG, in the context of spn her anti-blackness is way way worse than her homophobia.

i think people tend to forget that dean is a gen Xer (a baby gen Xer, but a gen Xer nonetheless) whose home state had sodomy laws until uh, *checks* 2003 so there's this tendency to read any reluctance dean may have surrounding being out as him being cartoonishly repressed (or even cowardly!) instead of it being like, a normal reaction to have in response to the hideous homophobia of the 80s & 90s. it doesn't matter how safe a situation he's in now, you don't shake that kind of thing off easily. and while the above obviously lends itself well to repressed!dean readings, i think it's important to emphasise that it can absolutely coexist with if not perfectly complement aware-but-closeted!dean. you can know exactly who you are but still find it incredibly difficult to express due to the poisonous environment you grew up in.

14: i literally cannot think of a single canon aro-spec character in media. i went to look some up and the only ones i found were from things i’ve never consumed, so i’m gonna give you some aro headcanons instead (my favorite aro hcs are allosexual because that’s how i am, sue me. aro/ace rights tho)

I love Geralt and his relationship to relationships. he’s definitely allosexual, but he doesn’t seem to have any drive to settle down. in the netflix show he literally has negative interest toward romantic relationships (until yennifer :/ ) i’m not mad about geralt and yennifer’s relationship, but it does feel a little ooc for both of them sometimes

dean is really bad at maintaining romantic relationships, even when he loves the person he’s with
while dean wants domesticity, that isn’t attached to the ideal of romance
dean enjoys sex but generally has one night stands (demon dean especially, i could write a whole essay on that)
when sam is in relationships dean isn’t shown to be jealous or give him advice regarding wooing women. you could argue he wants his own chance at romance in season 15, but i think it has more to do with the ideal of breaking free from chuck’s narrative and living a life other than hunting.
re: cas, i think dean started out sexually attracted to him but fell into romantic love at the end of season six, didn’t realize it until season eight (at least) and didn’t do anything about it until season eleven. also i headcanon cas as pansexual/romantic.

Our alpha and mentee for April are moving along like gangbusters with their story, and man, it's gonna be a DOOZY!! We can't wait to read it! In the meantime, we're gonna get a head start on setting up for May!

Below, you will find information from the alpha for this month. This information should help you determine if this month’s alpha is someone you could work with.
If you are interested in working with this alpha, you will fill out this application form. (Pond members only. Joining is easy! Check out the Start Here link!)
Only the Pond admins will be able to see your username. The alpha will not know who you are. We hope this brings together people who maybe wouldn’t otherwise find each other, so this application process will be blind.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MIDNIGHT, PACIFIC TIME, ON THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH.
Based on the application information, the alpha will pick a mentee. Only after the mentee is chosen will the alpha know who they have chosen.
The pair will decide if they want a list of prompts to choose from, or if they want to work on a story idea the mentee has had on the back burner.
Together, they will create beautiful words.
The mentee will post their work on their own blog and submit it to the Pond for posting and to be added to the Program masterpost.

Story requirements/parameters:
Must be SPN fan fiction.
All ships/pairings/kinks/genres allowed. The only restrictions are those set by the alpha and the mentee.
Use a Keep Reading cut if your story is more than 500 words.
Tag your story with the appropriate trigger warning tags and list them in the author’s note.
Our preferred header format is here.
There is no minimum or maximum word count for this. We don’t expect a novel, but hope for a one-shot.
The story idea MUST be something the mentee has not written or posted, yet. Ideally, to get the most out of this experience, the mentee will only have a couple of sentences about a vague idea, at most. We will provide a list of prompts if you like.
We would prefer that this not be Part 1 of a series. We don’t want to ask the alpha to commit to something larger than a one-shot. If the idea turns into more, and the mentee is willing to continue without the alpha, or the alpha is willing to continue working on the story after the month is done, then that is up to the alpha and the mentee.

What do you feel your weaknesses are when writing or alpha reading? For example, do you have trouble with dialogue or action scenes? Is there a particular grammar aspect you have trouble with?
Fight scenes are my weakness. Lots of action with multiple characters just make me squint.
