#yes that is the big takeaway from this

Playing the telephone game here since there's no video, but looking at various tweets summarizing what Misha said, my takeaway is the writers were aware, and leaned into it purposefully, Misha was concerned that if it wasn't openly confirmed, that opened it up to queerbaiting accusations, that people could construe it that way [note that Misha, like the writers, ran with it, because how else are you going to do the thing despite not being permitted to do the thing, you put an exhaust port in the Death Star] and so he was relieved and pleased when the writers told him they could do Cas's confession.
From past comments we also know he was shocked the network even allowed the confession. "We can do that???" Which again...shows you the state of affairs. Multiple creatives who were for it. And felt the ceiling imposed from on high.
Therefore, Misha Collins pretty much said Destiel isn't queerbaiting.
Yes, Cas's confession counts. Yes it's canonical and openly confirmed as far as Cas being in love with Dean. PR still buried it, but I'm talking about the text, and the meaning of what Misha said.
Why is anyone still mucking around about whether it's canon or not? Does PR make something canon? Is PR (big interviews, magazine covers, DVD extras commentary) the only way Destiel is canon?
Do writers' work count for nothing? Writer intent?
How about Misha, who inhabited Cas for 12 seasons?
Does the actual content of what aired and we saw on screen count for anything???? (including implications on Dean's feelings, which is queer coding, not openly confirmed the way Cas's were, but also not "fanon" either)
Misha might as well have stood on that con stage and shouted DESTIEL IS CANON.
Yeah lol no I'm not going to stop saying Destiel is canon any time soon.

Aren’t we hearing the court’s decision about Israel in a few hours?
We did, yes! I managed to listen in and I'm now catching up on everyone's takes on this.
My initial takeaway is that it really sounded like "hey israel you don't have to necessarily stop but just don't be so openly genocidal about it" despite them literally noting how various recent acts of Israel ~fall within the scope of acts of genocide~ which was bizarre like.. just say it cowards
So it was a big yawn but also as I said here before, despite how this goes after this preliminary ruling, and despite us knowing from the start that the ICJ has no power to enforce its decisions, I'm still glad to have seen israel dragged to court for the first time in its history and I'm glad to see it set precedent as well
Remember that Netanyahu was saying how nothing, definitely not the Hague, would stop them. So despite how you take this, whether you see it as a "step forward" or you feel frustrated by the wishy-washy nature of this, the fight is still going! 180 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in Gaza in the past 24 hours and airstrikes have not stopped all day in Khan Younis. 1.5 million are displaced and starving. We have no other option but to keep going for a free palestine. We've always know this was going to be a long fight.

art is not static
big takeaway from 'cant separate art from artist' talk is that some buds have VERY hard time recognizing art is not static and its meaning changes over time. they sarcastically ask 'so if you find out someone is bad their art somehow gets worse?' UH YEAH BUD THAT IS EXACTLY IT
seen things like: 'okay you listen to song and AT FIRST you love it then you learn its by charlie manson you cant just suddenly say now its bad' as if this is gotcha moment. i assure you bud i absolutely CAN suddenly say its bad now thats literally how artistic experience works
BUD WITH EYEROLL: 'so you are saying art changes based on what you know or dont know about who made it like some objective constantly evolving thing just because of how it makes you feel?' CHUCK: 'yes now you are just describing art now over and over again as if you are making a point'

The Princess of Hell, everybody! Inspiration to all
Tumblr media
But its ok, hes defending the hotel! Those loan sharks (mortal hellborns mind you) are just trying to get the 50k someone hiding out here stole and avenge someone she ran over. She was selfish, she stole, but she stuck it to the man I guess, and thats a start!
*spongebob narrator voice* A few episodes later...
Adam: Prepare to slaughter everyone in that shit hotel!
Lute: Rip Vaggies $%$% mouth out her $%$%!
Husk: Talking while fighting doesn't help...
Charlie: *yapping*
Tumblr media
Everyone struggling for their lives:
Tumblr media
Apologizing for deflecting them with her shield, as everyone around her litters the ground with their corpses...easily the most powerful one there-she knows it, she isn't scared...everyone else is though...as Alastors blood seeps into her roof, she shoots off some fireworks with a cute lil sowwy!
Tumblr media
Oh, geeze what a day! Shes like that person in the grocery store who keeps apologizing for getting bumped into. Is this supposed to be cute? Guess Charlie takes shit now, in big heaping portions no less.
Tumblr media
Then she...
Tumblr media
oops, wrong universe, hold on...
Tumblr media
yea thats it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AW NAW Alastor was sposed to handle him!
Tumblr media
Pentious manages to confess his love, get in his ship, charge the death ray and get zapped into oblivion in about the time it takes Charlie to emerge from her hiding place. Ok, he works fast. Fair enough. Oh wow, shes finally getting mad! Yes the one who causes hellquakes when shes stressed, its about time to unleash some of that!
Tumblr media
Watch out, shes got her pets and has donned her spirit halloween sexy devil costume. Your ass is toast sir.
Tumblr media
Oh shit, Razzle went faster than Rhaegal did approaching Dragonstone. I remember Viv saying Charlie has wings. Why didn't they fly themselves up there? Did she risk her pets lives for the spectacle? "Oh, look who thinks they're badass now" Yea Adam, kind of my thoughts too
I have to say the VaggiexLute beatdown that interrupted this mess unlocked my clenched jaw somewhat so that was nice DING DING
Tumblr media
Her pet just being murdered, Charlie turns her back on the assailant long enough for him to braid her hair while she wails in dismay
Tumblr media
She gets plastered into the sign which might have been funny if it were set up properly, but its not so Im back to cringing. I cant help but think it would have been better if she had been gun ho to fight but just clumsy and unable to hit her target. Getting tossed into the sign really does a number on her for some reason.
Tumblr media
She finally gets a hit in thank God
Tumblr media
Thats PRINCESS of HELL to YOU, PIG
Yea ok simba.
Tumblr media
Then Mufasa *ahem* Lucifer salvages her mess. Guess this one hasn't taught her how not to take shit from other demons.
Poor thing doesn't like to get her hands dirty. Not directly, anyway...
Anyway, the takeaway is
I feel ripped off where is my girl who beat Killjoys ass on live TV over a pen

25/12: Promise & Phone Sex - Billy Washington Word Count: 1.6k~ | Warnings: phone sex, dirty talk, masturbation (f and m) A/N: this exists in the Every Little Bit universe!
12 Days of Smuff Masterlist
Tumblr media
He always knew it was coming around, and yet he always hated it.
Her dad’s birthday was in between Christmas and New Year, that weird time where you don’t know what day it is, never seem to have enough food in and where you’re so disorientated in the post-Christmas haze that it’s like coming down from a sugar high.
It was the few times of year where she went away by herself, wanting to spare Billy from the absolute torture of being around her parents for a few days as she made excuse after excuse as to why they weren’t married yet.
Not that he minded, there was only so much of her mum Billy could take.
He’d seen her off at the train station, her duffel bag looking very much as big as her in the cutest way possible as she skipped off to the platform in her winter overcoat and scarf, the chill nipping at her cheeks.
It was only a few days. It was only a few days. He had to keep reminding himself.
Billy sighed, tapping the remote control against his knee, only half-watching whatever terrible Friday night tele graced his flat. The pizza box was closed shut on the coffee table, having tried to cheer himself up with a takeaway.
His phone buzzed, and he couldn't help the smile that rose to his face, seeing her name in bright white letters on the face of it.
She'd promised to ring 9 o’clock on the dot, after all.
“Hiya, ya alright?” he answered, his voice sounding perkier already, his muscles relaxing once he heard her voice.
“Hey, you sound happy”, she replied low down the phone, and he could tell she was smiling by the way she said it.
“I am now,” he grinned, “just finished a 12 inch on my own.”
She groaned over the line, “Billy.”
“I'm joking, it's because I've heard your voice again.”
“Better,” she laughed breathily, “what you up to? Other than missing me, of course.”
He sighs, “Being a sad cunt, staying in with a beer watching whatever shite is on Channel 4.”
“Ooh dear,” she says unenthusiastically, “sounds dull, babe.”
Billy hummed in agreement, “What about you? What you up to?”
It was her turn to sigh, “fuck all, really. Mum and Dad went to go and see Mum's mate Jill, you know Jill don't you?”
“Yes, babe.”
“Yeah, well they left at five and are yet to be back. Convinced she's got them tied up in the basement.”
Billy laughed through his nose, “That actually sounds better than what she might actually be doing, chatting their bloody ears off.”
“Poor buggers, eh,” she laughed, “so I'm sat here on my tod.”
“What a shame you've got me to talk to then.”
He could hear her smile, “could be worse. You missing me?”
The alcohol had offered him a kind of confidence, and he sucked his teeth, holding back a grin, “You could say that. Missing something anyway.”
He heard her mischievous tone even over the crackle of the phone.
“Are you now?”
The line went quiet for a while, before a notification buzzed and Billy turned her on loudspeaker for a moment as he pulled his phone from his ear to check.
…has sent an image.
With one flick of his thumb, his jaw dropped, the depths of his gut becoming tight and hot by the picture she'd sent him. It was her figure reflected in a mirror, wearing clearly nothing but a large t-shirt (his, he noted) and pulling the spare fabric to one side to show her curves as well as her pebbled nipples beneath it.
“Jesus..”
She giggled over the phone, “is that a good ‘jesus’?”
“I-fuck, yes…”
Another one arrived, with her pulling up the hem of her shirt over her hips and expanse of her stomach, just beneath the shadow of her breasts.
“Christ, babe, what are you doing to me?”
She hummed, “sorry, you said you were missing me.”
Billy sighed looking at the photos, every now and then closing his eyes to will the feeling of her skin onto his fingertips, the warmth of her, the sounds she'd make for him.
His breathing grew shallow as he reached into his jeans, wrapping one hand around his length, to softly pump himself, already half-hard since the moment the first picture arrived.
“Are you enjoying them?” she asked, a teasing lilt to her voice.
“Mmhm..” he murmured.
Another few arrived, in various stages. One where the shirt was fully over her breasts, one where she was wearing nothing at all leaning back to show her full naked torso, and one sat on the bed, the lines appearing where her hips met her thighs.
“Oh fuck…”
Over the phone, she could hear the clinking of his belt as he pleasured himself, “are you touching yourself, baby?”
He could only make a sound in confirmation, his throat closing as he fisted himself to the photos of her.
She sighed, as if her touching herself was expelling a deeply rooted desire, her hands sliding between her legs, the other holding the phone to her ear, “Mm…wish you were here…”
“-ffuck-me too, baby-”
His strained voice was enough to coax some slick between her fingers, using it to pleasure herself, laid back on the bed.
“are you on the sofa?...”
He swallowed, breathlessly replying, “yeah..”
“Do you remember before I left…” she started, and the memory nearly made Billy dizzy.
He was sat right where he is right now, legs apart to accommodate her kneeling there. She'd been annoyed that he was playing Xbox, and so, in an effort to make him lose his game, had knelt in front of him, pulled his sweatpants over his hips and eagerly took his length between her lips.
She'd gotten what she wanted. Before long, his controller was long forgotten and instead, his fingers were threaded through her hair, guiding her pace on him.
He can feel his stomach tightening at the memory of the sensation.
“Do you remember, baby?”
“Yes…”
“Hm..” she hummed, over the phone, while in her own bed began to hasten the pace of her self-pleasure.
"If I were there...do you know what I'd do?"
"What..." he breathed, his hold on his phone so tight without realising.
"I'd get up...off my knees...on top of you..." she muses, sighing at the feeling herself beginning to crest, "...maybe tease you a bit..."
"Fuck-no, baby, don't tease me-"
She let out a breathy laugh, "but why not? It's so much fun."
Her hips canted towards her own touch, her eyes fluttering shut as she held the phone loosely as the pressure tightened in her gut.
"What would you do, baby? If I was right there on top of you..."
His voice came strained, every stroke of his length in his fist drawing him close to fulfilment.
"I would - I'd fuckin' pull you down..."
She could tell he was close by the tone of his voice, and she bit back a smile, knowing he was much too far gone to even form a coherent thought.
"I'd let you fuck me...right there...be your little fuck toy..." She mused in a sort of whisper, "...you could cum inside me...as many times as you want, baby..."
Billy's lips parted, not even realising how his movements had become rapid, needy and quick.
"Oh fuck-"
On the other side she was close herself, and then she heard the prompt and pulled the phone away from her ear to see a request to switch to video call. She accepted without thinking and felt her gut twist at what she saw.
His jeans were pushed around his zipper barely, only enough to free his cock as he pumped it quickly. She was entranced as Billy pleasured himself in real time, her face growing warm at the effect she'd clearly had on him.
And then she heard it, a long shuddered whimper of her name, followed by, "Oh baby-"
She felt her thighs tremble as she came, warmth rushing beneath her hips and a tingling sensation rushing from her toes all the way up her spine, as Billy groaned deeply and spilled all over his fingers for her to see.
Her hand has slowed, overstimulation gnawing as she touched herself with Billy's languid thrusts into his hand continuing to pull a deep arousal from her.
Over the video she heard his laboured breaths, gulping for air.
When the video turned off she smiled tiredly and pulled her phone back to her ear, hearing his tired, exhausted voice.
"Jesus fucking Christ," he breathed. She could imagine him, all spent and limp on the sofa, and the thought made her smirk and press her thighs together with want.
"Mm, you're telling me. Do you feel better now?" She asked demurely.
"Fuck you," he teased, "fuck, I can't wait for you to get back..."
She gave a short laugh, "Oh yeah? What you gonna do when I am?"
He was quiet for so long she wondered if he'd heard her, her brows furrowed in confusion, lips parted to ask him if he was still there.
But realistically, on the other end, a wide smile graced his face, his blue eyes all aglimmer with mischief.
And what he said had the power to shut her right up. Excitement made her stomach flip, wondering what version of Billy she seems to have unleashed. Gone was the shy, unconfident Billy she'd found. Her efforts in getting him to...unwind somewhat shocking even her.
"How did you put it, hm?" he laughed, with a smile so bright like he'd just opened a present, "My little fuck toy?"

Dream is depressed and self destructive, so he often goes out to clubs and bars and ends up going home with shitty guys who are mean and rough and don’t treat him well.
Then one night, he makes the “mistake” of going home with Hob. And Hob keeps kissing him, and asking him how he likes to be touched and insisting on a safeword? Aftercare?? What’s that???
Hob’s big heart is immediately smitten like “oh no I need to protect this abused stray cat man”. So he makes sure that no matter how baffled Dream is by the whole experience he still has an amazing time (he actually feels better than when he hooks up with shitty guys?? Weird) so it’s easy to convince him they should meet up again.
So they do and it’s always good for both of them, and then suddenly Dream is staying the night and Hob is making him breakfast, and they’re meeting for dinner before having sex and holding hands when they walk home and Dream stops flinching when Hob comes up to wrap his arms around him from behind and he’s making Hob’s tea the way he knows he likes it when Hob has a bad day and oh my God, is he in a healthy loving relationship??
Hob just smiles and kisses his forehead.
-🦇
OH YES PLEASE. Trick Dream into having a nice soft relationship pls <333
I'm just imagining Dream sitting down with Death and he's like "my sister. I find myself confused. Am I. In a relationship with Hob? Are we blissfully happy together? Or am i merely imposing my own wants and desires onto my friendship with Hob? Does he, in fact, like me????" And Death is just gaping like "oh my god Dream yes he is in love with you YES you're in a relationship, I wouldn't be surprised if he proposes soon!!!! You're so fucking stupid!!!!!!"
And Dream goes home and points at Hob accusingly. "You. You are in love with me!"
And Hob doesn't laugh, although he wants to. He just pulls Dream in for a cuddle and kiss and takes him off to have a bubble bath until he's calmed down from feeling overwhelmed. Dream never used to let himself have bubble baths, or hugs. Hob is very good to him.
After the bath and more cuddles and a little walk around the block just to get some air, Hob tucks Dream into his lap. And Dream looks up, maybe laughing a bit.
"I think I would like to stay forever." He says. And Hob squeezes him tight.
"I was so hoping you would. Let's get a takeaway, love. And then I'll suck your cock and we'll go to bed."
and suddenly Dream doesn't want to destroy himself half as much as he used to <3

I'd love to talk more about the locker room scene in S2 E2 of Young Royals, where Wilhelm tries to convince Simon to get back together with him, in the process (sadly) demonstrating that he believes his mother's feeble offer to "talk" about him possibly coming out when he's 18. This takes place after his almost-removal from Hillerska.
Plenty of people have already pointed out how Henry snitched on Wille and Felice’s kiss, but apparently didn’t choose to tell anyone (as far as we’re aware) about Wilhelm almost pleading with Simon to get back together with him during that post-almost-dragged-out-of-Hillerska conversation. And that's definitely an interesting thing to chew on. But there's more...
Here are a few other things that stand out to me too:
First -
I think it’s worth pointing out the obvious — Wilhelm clearly sees Simon in his future long-term (possibly for the rest of his life). The way he casually says to Simon “So, we’d only have to keep it a secret for 2 years” implies three things very clearly.
a) He immediately and easily sees himself together with Simon in 2 years and beyond. Actually, specifically, definitely beyond. Because his eye is on the prize: coming out and living openly with Simon *after* he turns 18 — implying his focus is entirely on the intended afterwards period. He doesn’t even blink at that idea; it’s obvious to him.
b) He also really doesn’t seem to think 2 years is a big deal. For a teenager who’s only lived 16 years on this planet (only approximately ~11-ish of them in a state where they’re forming conscious memories) to think 2 years is just a drop in the bucket is kind of wild. Even 6 months feels like forever to a kid. So Wilhelm — a child — viewing time from this perspective suggests he’s likely balancing 2 years out against a much longer expanse of time; hence why those 24 months would look so minuscule and shrug-worthy by comparison. In other words: he sees himself with Simon in the LONG long term. Two years is nothing if you’re imagining growing old with someone and spending the rest of your many decades on this Earth with them. (All of this is pretty much confirmed later on in S2, when Wilhelm offers to abdicate the throne for Simon.)
c) He also doesn’t seem to think Simon should be appalled by the idea of waiting for 2 years. Yes, sure, we can chalk part of that up to selfishness and lack of mentalization / empathy for Simon’s point of view. But I’m going to suggest it’s more than that. My takeaway is that he assumes Simon also sees them as endgame, and so naturally wouldn’t be bothered by waiting a bit longer in order to spend forever together. (Sadly the conversation does not play out that way for him; ouch. Though no shade to Simon: what he said in response was realistic and fair.)
Second -
I think we have to rewatch his interactions with Simon as Henry slams a door and slowly walks past them with a raised eyebrow. Because, in S1, that Wilhelm would have immediately jumped away from Simon to create distance and try to pretend there’s plausible deniability about what their relationship has been and could be again. That’s (one) part of the whole point of S1: Wilhelm is not ready to be brave enough to face a homophobic aristocratic world and take a bold stance to stand by Simon.
Instead, in S2 E2, he sits still. He stays right next to Simon. In fact, he *leaves his hand resting directly on Simon’s thigh.* And he knows someone is coming their way! He heard the door slam inside the locker room. Obviously he knows someone else is here. But he doesn’t jump. He actually doesn’t really stir much at all.
He sits there like it’s of no importance, and he doesn’t care who sees. Or, even, who overheard this very intimate, vulnerable, and pleading conversation. A conversation in which the future King of their country is almost on the verge of begging his ex to please be his again… not just for now, but for multiple years’ time. I mean we’re like 2 steps away from Wille practically offering Simon a “promise ring” (not sure if that concept holds up in Europe, but it’s basically a very pre-engagement type thing in the US; it’s not common though). (Their convo also makes it very clear Simon was the one who dumped him and that he’s having trouble accepting that and moving on.)
Yet he doesn’t seem perturbed or disturbed by Henry’s presence and overhearing and seeing them. He doesn’t seem embarrassed at all. He’s not ashamed of his love for Simon. Even more specifically, he’s not afraid of people (Henry) seeing him put his heart out on the line, and of them knowing that he wants Simon back - not for just a hook-up, but for a very long-term, serious, committed relationship. And he doesn’t make any moves to emotionally or physically distance himself from Simon, despite Henry’s clear witnessing of this private moment.
This is a subtle way to show that, even though Wille hasn't yet gone through his full S2 journey of self-awareness and self-growth, he has still already begun changing and growing after the end of S1. So he’s at least started to learn some of his lessons about what he needs to do differently.
Anyhoo, the whole point I’m trying to make is… gosh there were so many fascinating things happening in that scene. And they rush right past us in the blink of an eye! But there is so much meaning built into every small interaction and non-interaction there, and into every nonchalant assumption the characters casually voice.
I’m sure there’s more meaning and are more details I missed, too! What did you think? I’d love to learn more from others’ perspectives, too. :)

I need more time to put my thoughts in order about tonight's episode, but my initial reaction is that I'm surprised by others' disappointment? I mean, I'm actually not that surprised because coming out stories are intensely personal with viewers all looking for/needing vastly different things from their media, but it just feels like a lot of what (I thought) Ted Lasso was trying to do has gotten lost under specific expectations.
Ted goes off on a long, ridiculous, borderline disgusting story at the worst possible moment? Yes, that's the point. For all my fun TedTrent theories, Ted is (currently) serving the role of the well-meaning, but often ignorant straight man. His function is to both provide the insight and warmth that he's known for - "Actually it does matter to us" - while simultaneously showing how this intensely heteronormative culture would react to a player coming out. AKA messily. If we got a perfect scenario where everyone was accepting and said exactly the right thing, that would undermine the problems the show is trying to acknowledge in the first place. The focus on Isaac's complicated anger and Ted's foot-in-mouth syndrome is just as important to this whole scenario as the club's overall acceptance and the fact that Ted immediately realizes that he fucked up: "I regret that." Ted Lasso is a feel-good comedy, so it's all couched in over-the-top humor, but I thought that was an important acknowledgement: your allies - straight or not, out or not - are likely going to react in cringe-worthy, imperfect ways and the important takeaway there is not that they're irredeemable people who don't love you, but that they're trying and you should gently correct them (as Colin does) and allow them to grow (as Ted does). Despite being an absurd fiction, Ted Lasso is working to write about this in a semi-realistic sense. Instead of a Perfect Coming Out Moment that makes all the queer fans (myself included!) squeal at how ~wonderful~ our beloved cast is for being oh so perfect, we get that realistic awkwardness, misplaced anger, and regret.
We cut away from Colin coming out? Yes, because he's already come out to us. I understand why fans would be disappointed in that, but I don't think it's fair to characterize the show as not allowing Colin to come out at all. That was the entirety of "Sunflowers." Rather than trying to fit Colin's big moment into a locker room halftime, the writers crafted a whole episode where he could grapple with that fear of being outed, be reassured, have a heart-to-heart with Trent, sit together on the monument, go out later in celebration... Ted Lasso made space for all that and, understandably to my mind, didn't want to rehash many of those same beats three episodes later, especially not when we need time to work through the intersection of Colin's story with everyone else. (Because despite this being a queer story-line about a queer man, the show is about the team. Colin's conflict was always going to expand into the rest of the cast.) No, we don't get to see Colin come out specifically to the others, but we did see him come out - both narratively by kissing a man and to Trent - and we see the team's reaction immediately after the fact. Making space for Issac didn't feel like it was cheating Colin to me, or focusing too much on the straight characters, because Colin's story has been a season in the making (plus some details earlier on). To say nothing of the fact that his hesitance about coming out is specifically because he fears the team's reaction... so why wouldn't we grapple with Isaac's negative reaction? We already know Colin's worries, we know what he wants, we see him seeking advice from Trent, we see him reaching out to Issac, we see that failing, and after all that his queer story-line is functionally at a stand-still until something else gives. Issac's explosion is what finally tips the scales.
Idk I don't think I'm explaining this very well because it's late and I only just watched, but I'm of the opinion that Ted Lasso did a lot of work in previous episodes so that they'd have space in this episode to do different work, which is smart. From a narrative perspective, Ted doesn't need to be the perfect ally because Colin already has a supportive queer mentor. "La Locker Room Aux Folles" doesn't need to try to balance Colin's emotional coming out with Isaac's internalized homophobia because "Sunflowers" already gave the audience so, so much, allowing the writers to both keep things on screen for our benefit and then later cut away for the sake of time. As said, stories like these are always going to be a hit-or-miss depending on what each individual fan wants and needs, but I think it's worth keeping in mind that Colin's story is not this single episode; it's all of them combined. Has Ted Lasso really not treated his journey respectfully... or did it just not try to check every queer story-line box in a single episode?

When you opened the door to your apartment, the light in your living room was turned on. When you walked further in, you noticed Jisung sitting on your sofa deeply wrapped in your favourite blanket. He was watching a documentary, his eyes focused on your TV. You placed the takeaway on your kitchen table and walked over towards Jisung. When you stopped in front of him he finally seemed to notice you. And you noticed how tired he looked.
"How was your day?", Jisung asked.
"Tiring. How are you?" He kept quiet for a moment, looking towards the tv instead of answering. "You don't need to tell me how you are right now", you whispered, softly playing with his hair. "Just tell me what you need right now." A soft smile appeared on his face as his glance turned back to you. He slowly opened his arms and it just took you a second to drive into his arms. You made yourself comfortable as Jisung wrapped his arms around you tightly. A soft sigh escaped Jisungs lips.
For a few moments you two just listened to the documentary which was still playing on the TV.
"I got us both some takeaway. If you want, we can eat that and then we can do what you want. What do you think?", you asked, while running your hand through his hair.
"What have you bought?", he mumbled against your shoulder, his eyes softly closed.
"Bibimbap and cheesecake."
"Nice!", Jisung said, slowly getting up from your sofa, still wrapped in the big blanket. You got up as well and grabbed the takeaway bag to sit down next to Jisung at your coffee table. You let him open the bag and watched as a wide smile appeared on his lips.
"Thanks for grabbing takeaway", he whispered, shortly leaning in and placing his head on your shoulder.
"When you texted me, asking whether you could stop by after work I knew I just wanted to spoil you a bit." Hearing this, Jisung softly moved his body against you as a whine left his mouth. Laughing at his reaction, you carried his cheeks for a second.
"Let's eat before everything gets cold." Jisung nodded and started to dig in. In silence and with the television in the background you two are. You learned to enjoy this side of your relationship just as much as the cheerful times. After a while Jisung had stopped eating and was now just looking at you. His eyes started to move from you to his hands and back again. "Is there anything I can do for you?" Jisung let out a deep breath.
"I don't want to force myself on you. I… what if you don't want to do what I ask you for but you are doing it anyways?", he ranted, looking everywhere but at you.
"Jisungie", you mumbled, taking his hands in yours. "I know you have these thoughts and I know it's hard to let them go. But I can assure you that I am fine with everything. Otherwise I wouldn't say yes to it", you explained. "And I will tell you this every time you ask." You smiled at him, hoping it was looking encouraging and honest. His glance fell on his hands again.
"I'm sorry that I am like this." Hr whispered.
"There is nothing you need to feel sorry about." He stayed silent and you knew he was thinking about what you had said. Then he softly nodded his head. You were not sure whether he was really believing in what you have said but you would tell him that every time he would need to hear it. "Will you tell me what was on your mind?"
"I wanted to ask whether I could side hug you but then I was unsure because you were still eating and I didn't want to interrupt you", he then explained.
"Oh Sungie", you breathed, softly patting his cheek. "Of course you can do that. And thank you for being honest with me. It really means a lot to me." Jisungs shoulders went down a bit as he exhaled. Without another word Jisung leaned in and hugged you from the side. You placed a short kiss on the top of his head and then finished the rest of your Bibimbap.
"Today was hard", whispered Jisung after a while. "I got up too late which meant I didn't have enough time to prepare for the day." You wrapped your free arm around him and pulled him closer. "Then the yoghurt I wanted to eat had gone bad. And one of the managers said my song is too dark so we can't use it in our next comeback."
"Oh that's a lot in one day", you muttered.
"It was", he said, his voice trembling and his eyes already watery. If possible, you pulled him even closer.
"But you did it. You got through everything and now you are here", you mumbled carrying his back.
"Yes… I did", he replied, his voice still trembling.
"You can be proud of yourself."
"You know what we will do now?", you asked, backing away a bit to look at Jisung. The other looked confused and shook his head. "We will wash all the bad things away. Of course only if you are comfortable with this", you suggested, feeling a bit nervous because it would be something new. You have never seen him completely naked and you didn't know whether Jisung was fine with this or not.
"You would do that for me?", he asked, his eyes wide and his eyebrows high up. As you stood up, you nodded and held your hand out towards him. He took it and let himself be pulled up. Together you walked towards your bath.
"I will get you a new towel and a few clothes you left the last time around", you told him, while playing with his hair. He softly nodded and as you left your bathroom he started to undress himself. You were humming a soft melody as you walked back in. Jisung had his back towards you already completely naked. Carefully you stroked over his wide shoulders which made him fall slightly against you. A light sigh escaped his mouth and he leaned even more into you. You wrapped your arms around his upper body and his hands closed around yours in front of his chest. For a moment you stayed like this. Just enjoying having him close but then you carefully patted his chest.
"Let's wash all the bad energy off." At that, Jisung nodded and slowly stepped into the bathtub. He crouched down and waited as you turned the water on. "Is the temperature alright for you?", you asked while letting the water run over Jisungs hands.
"Yes. That's nice", he mumbled and closed his eyes as you started to let the warm water run over his back and shoulders. You softly started to continue the melody you had hummed earlier, carefully spreading the shampoo over Jisungs shoulders, neck, back and chest.
"I'm gonna smell like you", muttered Jisung, looking up with a wide but tired looking smile. You couldn't hold back a giggle as you nodded and kissed his still dry hair.
"That's true. My Jisungie will smell like me." It made him laugh lightly, leaning against your hand which was now on his head. "Can I wash your hair now?", you asked softly as you stroked through his hair. Letting out a sigh, he nodded as an answer. When his hair was wet and washed you let the warm water run over his body a few more moments. His shoulders seemed much more relaxed now. He looked quite adorable playing with the small runlet of water.
"Thank you for this" muttered Jisung and looked up to you. You smiled back at him.
"Do you want to get out now?" Without saying anything he stood up and closed the tap, while you stepped back and held a towel out for him to grab. After a moment Jisung accepted the towel and began to pat his body dry. Meanwhile you took a hairdryer out of one of your small bathroom cabinets and plucked it in. When you turned towards Jisung again he had dressed himself already. You nearly cooed seeing him standing there in front of you with sleepy eyes and sweater paws. "Let's dry your hair a bit. What do you think, jagi?", you whispered as you held out a hand for him to take. You saw Jisungs cheeks softly turning pink and a bright smile appearing on his lips. He sat down on the edge of the bathtub and closed his eyes when you started to dry his hair. You parted his hair a few times, always careful to not pull at his hair. And when his hair was dry enough you turned off the hairdryer.
Suddenly Jisung leaned forwards right against your body, slowly wrapping his arms around your torso.
"I am so grateful for having you in my life", he whispered against your hoodie but you heard him nonetheless.
"And I am so thankful to have you in my life as well", you replied to his confession and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
"Can we go to your bed for some cuddles?"
"Just for cuddles? Does that mean you are planning to go to your own home tonight?", you asked jokingly, which made Jisung laugh.
"I would like to sleep here tonight, if that's alright." With a wide smile you nodded and pulled him up.
"Of course that's alright." As you two walked into your bedroom you noticed that Jisung seemed already in a lighter mood again. As Jisung made himself comfortable under your covers you changed into your pyjamas and shortly texted Chan. After that you joined Jisung and within minutes both of you had fallen asleep. With arms linked.
You:
Took care of Sungie. He is doing better again. We are going to sleep now. :)
21:58
Chan:
Thanks for taking care of Jisung in a way we can't. I really hope we can all meet soon again.
Sleep well you two.

Hi! Would you like to write one for Charles, where the reader is going through some difficult time (struggling with mental health, work or "big life decisions", up to you) and he's being very supportive and understanding, offering help as well? ❤️
Tumblr media
♡ Life Changes [0.8K]
Tumblr media
Charles has always been the epitome of ‘boyfriend material,’ so when it comes to helping you out in any capacity, he is there.
He notices all your patterns; when your quiet, the personality he loves oh-so-much is changed into another. He’d do anything to get his girl back.
So, one evening, he returns from Maranello, craving to see you after an entire week of not sleeping in the same bed.
His plan is sorted; he’d stop by at your place, pick you up and take you out for dinner. Maybe takeaway, if you guys got…distracted.
And yet…he can sense something is off the moment he steps into your apartment with the spare key you had given him weeks ago.
You don’t come running to the door to greet him with his hug and pepper sweet kisses across his face. You don’t come to the door, full stop.
He knows you’re in, though. There’s sound coming from the television, some show you’d watched a hundred times; background sound whilst you sat crouched in the living room, papers scattered around you, tears rolling down your cheeks.
Charles’ heart doesn’t break. It shatters.
He’s in front of you in an instant, holding your head between his hands, his thumb running across your cheek to remove the tears.
‘Bébé…hey, hey. Come on. I’m here.’
If you’re unable to say anything, he simply pulls you into his chest. His hoodie is soft, it smells of him. You’re unable to hold back the tears now, having been trying to hold it together for so, so long.
‘I don’t know what to do.’ Your voice sounds so…broken. Charles loves it when you laugh, when you ramble about your favourite things. This…this isn’t you.
Charles knows what to do.
Once the tears have subsided, he picks you up, you clinging to him like a koala.
He carries you into his bedroom, seeing the bed hadn’t been made, dirty laundry everywhere, your room ankle deep in stress.
Silently, he packs an overnight bag for yourself; Charles has been to your apartment enough to know where everything is. He packs some comfortable clothing, your favourite stuffy, wash things and makeup.
Then, he reaches out his hand, taking yours in his own and guiding you out of the apartment.
‘Out of sight, out of mind, yes?’ He confirms with you, locking your front door leading you back to his car. He curses at the forgotten flowers, clumsily leaning over and passing them to you.
Charles has a new game plan; he books the two of you into a hotel for the evening, bundles you up into one of his hoodies and orders your favourite takeaway.
He can see how…tired you are. He wants to take that away from you.
Once you’ve eaten, you cuddle into his chest. If you don’t want to say anything, he’ll let you simmer in silence. Otherwise, he’ll let you cry into his chest, sob about everything weighing you down, how you didn’t know what to do next.
Once it’s out of your system, he brushes your hair out for you, helps you with your skincare and tucks you into his side, hoping you’ll sleep through the next day.
The next morning, his plan springs into action.
Charles books you your favourite form of self-care, whether it be having a manicure, a massage, maybe a hair treatment. He kisses your forehead and sends you on his way.
Whilst your relaxing, he’s hired a cleaner cleaning out your apartment. Clothing being washed, bed being changed, study things being put away neatly, ready for you to organise when you’re ready.
The last thing he does, is buy a mini whiteboard. We’ll come back to this later.
He comes to pick you up from your appointment, complimenting you. The smile is slowly returning to your face, looking more and more like his girl again.
When you get back to your apartment, your heart melts. Charles has a soft smile on his face, seeing the relief of all the tasks you’d neglected completed.
“We’re gonna have a fresh start. We’re gonna get through this together.’
Remember the whiteboard?
Together, you make a game plan. Charles lets your mind wander and ramble freely, making a note each time there’s a significant point about a step you’d like to take.
You pinpoint each step, and on that whiteboard is a game plan; how you’re going to solve the issue, take your next steps.
And now there’s a plan? Something to…follow?
You feel so much more relieved.
Charles pulls you into his chest, cuddling you so, so tightly, murmuring how proud he is of you for getting through this.
In reality? He’s proud of you every single day.

Leon Proposal and Wedding Headcanons
i understand the poll is not over yet, but this is the clear winnder! i've been watching a ton of wedding content recently, so i was so jazzed to receive this request. thanks anon!
features: gn! reader and 1 mild sexual refernce. other just pure fluff! also not proofread
Enjoy!
Now that he’s no longer champion
Leon has his sights on a much more important title
Husband
And the first step to gaining that title?
Finding a wonderful, awesome person that he loves and loves him back unconditionally?
He’s already got that covered!
Spoilers! It’s you!
Now he has to take the next step
The proposal
With Lee, I can see this going two ways, depending on the kind of person you are
If you’re someone who loves the spotlight, a fellow elite-class trainer and/or a major celebrity
I can totally see him proposing to you in front of a massive crowd in Wyndon Stadium
After an intense heart-pounding match
If you’re his opponent, when you go to shake his hand after the battle, he’ll take it
And drop down on one knee
If you’re just watching the match, he’ll call you out to the pitch
As the new head of the Galar League, he’s already got the staff clued in, no surprises with them
You walk onto the pitch to a roar of applause, having an inkling of what’s about to happen, where Lee gives you a kiss, takes your hand and get into position
Presents to you a little velvet box
And gives a heart-warming but brief speech
He’d love to go on, really pour his heart out… but some of the things he wants to say are just for your ears only
The whole time the audience is waiting on bated breath
With the occasional holler of “Go Leon!” and “Say Yes!”
Somebody did shout “Say no! I wanna marry him first!”
Which admittedly made you chuckle
The whole proposal is being broadcasted on the big screen, and across the region, maybe even the world
Which means, when you say – no, exclaim - “Yes!”, It’s the yes heard around the world
The crowd goes W I L D
Just an eruption of clapping and hollering and screaming
But you don’t register it at all
No, you’re too focused on the love of your life, slipping a gorgeous ring on your finger
And taking you in his arms
So warm, and strong, and perfect
He holds you to his body like you’re the most precious thing to him
Which you are
“I love you,” you hear him whisper in your ear
Your answer comes in the form of a passionate, triumphant kiss
Which makes the crowd go even crazier
Now, if you’re someone who’s more introverted, private and/or not a fan of public proposals
I imagine it’d go a little something like this;
It’d be a proposal in your shared home
And he’ll pull out all the stops to make it as romantic and as cosy as possible
He’ll secretly take a half day from the battle tower to prepare everything while you’re busy with work/school/etc.
The whole living room will be transformed
I’m talking candles (with your favourite scent)
Bunches upon bunches of favourite flowers
An arch decorated with said flowers
And so many photos of the two of you together from your relationship
Plus, ones of you that he just thinks are cute
He’ll prepare your favourite meal or order your favourite takeaway too
And he’ll wait by the front door, practically buzzing with excitement (and a touch of anxiety)
I mean, he’s pretty sure you’ll say yes
But he has an old, toxic friendship with doubt so, it’ll always be there, whispering falsehoods
You arrive home
Greeted by the sight of your purple haired himbo
And the lovely display he’s set up for you
It’s not your birthday, so you know something special is afoot
Even though, you’re certain it’s going to end with a proposal, you still end up feeling surprised
He takes your hand and walks you through all your memories together, reminding you how much you mean to him, how lucky he is to have you, how you’ve always been there for him, how much he loves you
And how he can’t imagine his life without you
It would be too painful
All ending with him getting on one knee under the arch of your favourite flowers
You’re crying, he’s crying
As you say “Yes!” and share a tight embrace
No matter if his proposal is public or private, the wedding is DEFINITELY private
That celebration of your love with you friends and family, just isn’t for the world to see
Except a few photos on social media a week or two later lol
It’ll be cute, quaint rustic affair
Probably in Wedgehurst or Postwick
In one of those farmhouses that double as wedding venues
Raihan is most likely best man
Hop’s just a bit too young
But he’s definitely a groomsman, and the ring bearer
He and Wooloo take this job very seriously
If you for one second think Charizard isn’t also a groomsman and wearing a bowtie, you’re SORELY mistaken my friend
The guest list is mainly your and his friends and family, and the Galar League
For the life of me, I can’t imagine Lee in a plain black suit/tux
He’ll at least wear a jacket that’s a colour that suits him
Probably something that’ll match the colour scheme
Let me tell you one thing
Well, two things
Lee will definitely cry
And he will carry you over every. single. threshold.
No exceptions
When he goes in for the kissTM he’ll cup your face and kiss you with so much love and passion you’ll be breathless
I’m sorry but that just gives me butterfrees
He will give a speech and a toast to you at the reception
It’ll be heartfelt and dorky just like him
Raihan’s best man speech is funny, and just a touch irreverent
He definitely harps on about how you’re way out of Leon’s league
And how smitten Lee is with you
When it comes to the cake, if you let him, Lee would like to smush a bit of it on your face
Just a little smush
Which he fully expects you to do back to him
Again, only if this is something you want
You two will definitely feed each other cake either way though
During the whole reception (and before) Lee just has this goofy, lovestruck expression on his face
He gives you heart eyes the entire time
And he keeps asking if it’s really real
Is he really your husband now?
You delight in telling him yes, every time
Your first dance is basically just the two of you hugging while you sway to music for like three minutes
The world disappears, and it’s just you and your husband
It’s perfect
After a fantastic night of food, dancing and fun
Leon picks you up and carries you over one last threshold
Sure, the night may be done, but the fun? That’s not over yet ;)

I officially finished Pride and Prejudice yesterday! Some more rambles to add to the ongoing collection:
1 Learning that Wickham and Lydia are on the downward path I predicted is really satisfying for some reason. Just the image of the classic rake being forced to marry the unruly teen he had a fling with and then being forced to deal with the repercussions of his actions for the first time in his life — so good considering he seemingly believed he could partake in ruining her reputation and get away with it. And Lydia isn’t consciously suffering (although in reality, her prospects/reputation have indeed suffered) because she’s so oblivious to the misfortune around her that she thinks her life is much better than it is. It’s all just so true to life imo. Nothing is black-and-white. Every family has the worrisome trainwreck couple and these two are the perfect representation of that. Also, Wickham/Lydia give me major Byron/Claire Clairmont vibes (my fellow Romanticists iykyk).
2 Elizabeth’s conversation with Lady Catherine was so nerve-wracking. Elizabeth handled it so well, which surprised me. Toward the end of the novel I was getting a sense that Elizabeth had really come into her own self & seeing how expressive she became in comparison to some of the other women around her was very refreshing.
3 Elizabeth and Darcy’s long conversation while walking was actually cute, I can’t lie. I didn’t really find Darcy personally appealing at first, but he grew on me — which I’m aware was the intention — but due to the popularity of the romantic elements of the story in popular media and film adaptations, I was really surprised just how little Darcy and Elizabeth interacted if we take into account the entire length of the novel and how many actual conversations they had. It’s more realistic that way due to how things like travel, socializing, and marriage were conducted back then. I think for the sake of modern audiences and modern concepts of romance/etc., adaptations and maybe even fans themselves really overemphasize the romantic elements of the story. What I mean is that it is a love story, yes, but our concepts of love in the Anglosphere have changed a lot since Austen’s time. Adaptations reflect this change, although they also probably skew the reader’s reception of the original novel. Alternatively, the Georgian era was a bit more lively than we regularly think, which is seen by Wickham/Lydia’s rendezvous, and so we could also interpret the novel as containing more passion covertly hidden beneath the pages. There are a lot of ways to interpret the concepts of love/romance as shown in the novel.
4 Lydia is truly her mother’s daughter imo. I don’t have a thought-out argument to defend this opinion but it definitely showed that Lydia was her mother’s favorite and Elizabeth was her father’s favorite — and interestingly, they married two men who were enemies to each other, and diametrically opposed in personality. I think one of the biggest takeaways from the novel is that the Bennet parents were an ill-suited match and so their children are having this struggle of trying not to repeat the generational curse — in Lydia’s case she fails like her parents did, whereas Elizabeth and Jane manage well.
5 I routinely forgot that Mary Bennet existed. Like was she even in the novel or was I just zoning out every time she appeared? Lmao
6 Mr. Bennet sarcastically saying that he loves Wickham and Collins more than Darcy and Bingley because the former two amuse him more and give him free entertainment… same tbh!
7 It’s interesting how all the men and women function as foils for each other and represent various reactions to the system they live in. Mrs. Bennet, Mrs. Bingley, Lady Catherine, Mrs. Gardiner, are all interesting to compare to each other, and Mr. Collins, Mr. Bingley, Mr. Wickham, Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bennet, Mr. Gardiner are also in that way very neatly comparable.
8 I’m biased because I’ve studied Shakespeare but I really got a big Shakespeare vibe the entire time. I saw someone on here post that the novel may have been inspired by Much Ado specifically and I completely agree! I looked it up and there have been articles and academic papers writing about the influence of Shakespeare on Austen and P&P particularly, so we’re not alone here.
— Overall, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would! If none of you have read it, or are only familiar with adaptations, definitely give it a try.

Iron Man (2008)
Tumblr media
As mentioned in last post, when I went to Iron Man I literally had no idea that such a superhero existed. (I thought Sherlock Holmes with RDJ came out first but apparently not so I had essentially no knowledge of the actor either.) My friends and I decided to spend the day out at the nearest town big enough to have a book store, craft stores, and a Target, as well as a Drive-In movie theater. I was now a college student and enjoying the freedom of no curfew, rebel that I was. I'm pretty sure the movie prior to Iron Man was the Narnia: Prince Caspian movie. I mention this because I hated that movie. It bastardized the book something awful and after the first movie was so faithful an adaptation, this was incredibly disappointing. However, this meant I was doubly primed to appreciate the awesomeness that Iron Man ended up being. I've watched it a few times since then, but usually as background to something else. I decided for this challenge I did REALLY want to watch the movies/shows. No other distractions- just it. I can take breaks (it took me 3 days to finish Iron Man due to various constraints last week) but when I'm watching, I'm JUST watching.
Here were my takeaways this time
The differences in Terrence Howard's Rhodey and Cheadle's Rhodey are always a bit mind boggling and part of what makes Iron Man feel really different from the later films. We're also just starting MCU so while they aren't LACKING budget, it's not the level it would be later. This doesn't hurt the movie at all for the record, if anything I think it meant the story had to be more well-developed and the actors better.
But this first film has a seriousness and a somberness that most of the other films only flirt with (notable exception being Infinity War of course).
The scene where Tony goes back to help Gulmira, Yinsen's home, and we see the 13 year old boy screaming and crying as his father is pried away from their family, the soldiers clearly planning to execute him and all the other grown men. The young boy tears himself away from his mother to his father, determined to keep him, to save him. His father, begging his son to go, so that he will live even though he knows- he KNOWS he will not. This moment of utter terror made personal just before Tony shows up is incredible and all the more so when put into historical context. The U.S. was still in Afghanistan and Iraq at this time and it was easy for citizens here to paint everyone in those areas with the same brush. But in this moment you CAN'T. You HAVE to see the family ripped apart right alongside the terrorists and be forced to realize that race, ethnicity, language don't make terrible people- actions do.
A common criticism of Marvel movies is they don't let a moment sit- that they always break a serious moment with a joke. But this one doesn't do that. There are multiple heavy moments- after Yinsen's death for one and when Pepper nearly quits (because she can't watch Tony self-sabotage and possibly die) and he tells her:
"I shouldn't be alive... unless it was for a reason. I'm not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what I have to do. And I know in my heart that it's right."
This moment sits between them so clearly, so starkly and it is not ended with a joke, but with Pepper grabbing the flashdrive and asking what to do. (Thinking back, I'm wondering how many of those MCU "broken" moments are by Tony. He's the one uncomfortable with emotion. Him breaking those moments with humor is actually 100% in character. Something to pay attention to as I watch.)
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, some of the key themes of this movie just strike to the heart.
Death from a distance is easy to ignore or even be complicit in, but death up close rips us apart. Tony sold weapons that he knew took lives for years but it wasn't until he watched Yinsen die that I think he really understands what that means. Yes, his parents had died before but he wasn't THERE, he didn't SEE it. This death, this is the one that makes him really know what it means.
You don't have to change everything to be a better person. Tony is still self-centered. He still likes attention. He's still arrogant and as we will see next movie, open to playing the field as Pepper and him haven't committed. But not only has he stopped being complicit in the deaths of the innocent, he's taken on the mantle of protecting them.
Lastly, who the good guys are is largely a matter of perspective. This obviously gets hit harder again in Ultron (oh that glorious train wreck- I'm looking forward to writing about you), but it matters here. Tony was fine manufacturing weapons because he assumed he was supporting the "good guys", the 'Muricans. But not only was Obadiah dirty dealing, he is forced to learn the good guys aren't always as discriminatory with their weapon use as they purport to be. That it's easy to start painting with broad brushstrokes in areas where precision is actually called for.
Overall I'm really glad I PAID attention to this one this round. The grittiness and the depth really hit the way they did the first time or even more so. Onward to The Incredible Hulk, even though it's only semi-canon now.

Big questions and takeaways I have after MAGP 12:
STAGGERINGLY ATROCIOUS STAG PARTY Anusia please 🤣
Does Celia like-like Sam because her response says "Yes, but also I have to consult the entities inhabiting/possessing my body/causing me to sleepwalk" (to which her solution was "Let's go right after work/before I have to go to sleep")?? I need to know
I ship Sam x Happiness, which is a shame because that's one ship that's definitely not going to be canon
Sam has a high EQ and is doing nothing to dissuade my impression that he's super empathetic and has few qualms about using that to manipulate and get what he wants. Example:
Alice: gets jealous and digs in about Celia Sam: deflects by bringing up her helping him with his Magnus Institute mystery*rinse and repeat*
Did Sam and Alice break up because Alice is simultaneously too possessive and also unwilling to admit/talk about it? I'm pretty firmly on the "Sam broke up with Alice and tried to do it in the gentlest 'We're better off as friends' way possible" camp and Alice is sooo not over him
Cases are definitely not randomly assigned. This was clear with Sam and The Magnus Institute case(s), but it's clearly not just a "Sam's a special boy" instance, as it does not seem like a coincidence that Gwen got the Bonzo case
*If* cases are not randomly assigned, then who is in control? Lena? Freddy? JMJ? All of the above?
Bonzo has TWO LAYERS OF TEETH his first teeth are not soft and his second teeth are not blunt
The level of coverup involved in Bonzo-related murders has got to be STAGGERING (hehe). Mr. Bonzo TORE through that stag party and the bartender but left most of them alive. He was not being discreet. It's astounding that the most the media has to say about it is "Mr. Bonzo was spotted at the scene of five murders" when he's out there merrily cavorting with his prey like a cat playing with a mouse before killing it. Not to mention whoever was involved in placing the lunchbox and CD
Gwen's post-case conversation would have been WAY different if it had been Sam rather than Alice who came across her first, but I'm not sure if it would have been because Gwen doesn't know Sam enough yet to show her vulnerable side or if it's because Sam would have taken her seriously from the start
To that previous point... Sorry y'all, Alice (intentionally) fumbled this one. Gwen tried opening up to her and it was like the moment Alice saw it happening she went "Nuh-uh absolutely not, not getting involved in whatever's got you shook up, do not want to fall down the spooky rabbit hole" and shut Gwen down with joke after joke. Gwen attempted to communicate and Alice shut her out, and I think it's unlikely Gwen tries again until things are waaaay past the point of no return (unless Sam intervenes). I interpret this as Alice knowing there is something Very Wrong and really now wanting to dig deeper/get involved, but I'm not opposed to the theory that Alice knows more than she's revealing. I am still holding out for some Sam-Gwen conspiracy buddy investigations though.
Anyway, my jaw was on the floor for most of the case... and so was Baz's.

Lock, what DO you love and like so much about Dostoevsky's work? I don't think you've ever talked about that. Please, I want to know !!!
^o^
(christianity mention jump scare below proceed with caution)
i thought this would be an easy to answer but figuring out how to put my feelings into words proved difficult .
the beginning is always a good place to start, so let's go with that. by chance, i happened upon this video on youtube and gave it a watch. about halfway in i decided i had to read notes from underground for myself. i struggled to understand what the narrator was trying to get across. the unique writing style, where the reader is addressed directly, as if in challenge, helped me preserve.
i think part of what makes his work special to me is his depiction of people. and they really do feel like people more than characters, even if some of their characteristics are unique to the era dostoevsky wrote in. everything else about them transcends time. i can see myself in some of them. whether it be the titular idiot, prince myshkin in his naivety; alyosha, who goes from devout to doubting; and ivan, whose bitterness toward religion masks his disappointment at the state of the world.
that's why the brothers karamazov touched me in particular. for some context, i grew up in a christian household and was heavily involved in the church (american northeast white baptist strand of church). around when i was 11 or so, the introduction of left-wing politics through social media had me undergo a looooong identity crisis. these new ideas felt at odds with what i'd spent my entire life believing. what i grappled with the most relates to ivan's anecdote, the grand inquisitor, where the goodness of god is called into question. the bitterness, the disappointment from crushed expectations, all those sensations resonated strongly with me. reading it as an adult who (supposedly) 'healed' from that time period in my life was like opening pandora's box. i'd never seen my thoughts and struggles so accurately described, or treated with more than a 'his ways are higher than our ways' type platitude. i stuffed these concerns of mine away because they only ever served to make me feel worse.
i won't delve deep into the Depressing Lore. the only reason i mention it is to stress how profound an impact the work had on me. throughout the remainder of TBK (and in most of dostoevsky's discography), the best and worst of humanity is shown. our hypocritical nature, capacity for evil; nothing is shied away from or made more palatable. and yet, throughout it all, our potential for good is shown too. whether it be in the little acts or monumental self-sacrifice. sometimes those acts are honored, or ‘worth it,’ sometimes they aren’t. it’s cheesy but whatever i’ll say it — choosing to love and serve others is my greatest joy. i don’t really need a definitive answer to those problems i struggled with. that’s the takeaway i’ve had from his work. it might not seem like a big deal, but not feeling guilty for having certain doubts or anxious over those doubts never fully being resolved was. very significant for me. and healing (for real this time).
so that’s the sentimental perspective GJSDLKFJS from my writer’s perspective, i can only describe him as brilliant. his grasp on the human psyche is incredible. he can accurately describe so many emotions, worldviews, and give the context necessary for each one to feel organic and real. it’s vivid, too, in a way i can’t properly get across. everyone’s unfiltered and messy. characters contradict themselves in the same sentence. they’ll murmur, go off on tangents, tell stories, misquote the bible (or many other significant works), and just be overall disasters. aka how people actually are.
the man’s also funny as hell. the protagonist from crime and punishment has a mental breakdown spanning multiple pages over a sock. yes, there’s context, but that’s still the gist of things. then there’s the issue of the hedgehog in the idiot. hedgehog drama.
ultimately, his work is so very human. there’s commentary on issues that are prevalent to this day, multiple centuries later. the topics he touches on tend to align with what i care about most. whether i agree or disagree with what i’m reading, there’s always something i glean from it. something meaningful that sits with me long after i close the book. i’ll mull over it and bother people in my vicinity until they mull over it too. no one is safe. whether it be a co-worker or my dad who drives noticeably faster to reach our destination and be free of my many questions.
i could keep going but this ended up being long enough GJSKDF i hope at least something here makes sense?>?? i apologize for the incoherent ramblings. it's what the dude does to me.

Y’all.
The point of the Clone Wars flashback in the Ahsoka series was partially fan service. Yes. But, those of you that are mad that Obi-Wan and Cody and Waxer and Boil and Mace Windu and Ursa Wren and Gar Saxon and Maul and Bo-Katan Kryze and Rook Cast weren’t in it missed the whole goddamned point of the flashback, so let me explain:
Everyone has bitched tirelessly about Ahsoka being stoic and reserved and “not like herself” (I will die on the “she’s in her forties…leave my baby girl alone… she’s tired, sore and premenopausal…” hill, still…)
Ultimately, she’s been “out of character” because she was carrying all of the Anakin trauma around like a two hundred pound weight on her shoulders. She blamed herself, and she feared who she was so much so that she was unwilling to get close to others and spread the wisdom that the years have afforded her…something a Jedi just does. She couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Enter this sequence… the moment she FINALLY lets go of the Anakin guilt/ hang ups.
I knew something like this was coming. Some moment that changed her back to the more recognizable Ahsoka. The one that embraced her friends. The one that was willing to share the lessons that she learned with others. The one that would have loved to have a padawan of her own. The one that wasn’t always running away, being flaky.
This was it. And, there were two big takeaways from the moment.
1.) Anakin was always Vader, and Vader was always Anakin… and she had nothing to do with that. Her leaving the order played literally no role. It wasn’t on her. It never was. He was already teetering on that line way before she entered his life. I mean, he slaughtered an entire village of Tuskens down to the last woman and child. He said and did questionable shit to Ahsoka herself too throughout their time together. Was he like a brother to her? Sure. Was he borderline abusive at times? Also, yes. Regardless, her eyes were opened in that first battle…where he basically told her to fight or die. Fair, under the circumstances… still, Ahsoka was trained to be a Jedi, not a murderer. Anakin relished in it. She didn’t really, especially when it came to losing her own men in battle. The clones were her friends, her brothers. Anakin didn’t seem to give a shit about the clones. Unsurprising.
2.) She realized that it wasn’t just Anakin’s legacy that she would carry on. She has her own legacy. It doesn’t have to be one of death and destruction. Is Ahsoka a lot like Anakin? Yes. She’s impulsive, hot-headed, stubborn, emotional, and intense, but that’s not all. Ahsoka is caring, patient, understanding, and loving in a compassionate sense. She’s grown wise, strong and sage. Anakin isn’t the only part of her line and that legacy… Obi-Wan is a part. Qui-Gon is a part. Yoda is a part. Ahsoka is a little bit of all of them. It made her realize that she’s so much more than just a warrior. She’s a great Jedi like the ones that came before her. Inevitably, she has a choice. She can choose not to serve the dark, despite it being part of that legacy, and she can pass on what she has learned without fear.
The moment was about just that. It wasn’t meant to actually be an episode of The Clone Wars. The flashback served a very specific purpose as laid out above. There are 133 episodes of The Clone Wars if you want to watch a Clone Wars episode with all the characters of the Clone Wars. This moment was about Ahsoka overcoming her guilt and fear caused by Anakin becoming what he became so that Ahsoka could actually embrace who she is. Specifically.
Now we have a happy, more well-rounded, Gandalf-like Ahsoka that has slayed her Balrog. Now we get to see her be the Jedi she has always been inside. Now we will see her be there for her friends. Now we will see her mentor and share her wisdom and teach the ways of the ones that came before her without fear.
