My Joel Miller's fics recs from 2023

I’ve planned to do this since before Christmas, but life caught me up, so that's why I'm here rushing to finishing this before the reveillon party. 2023 was a very tough year for me, in different ways, and this stories were my refuge and my balm during good times and bad times, so this was the way I found to honor all these incredible authors who made my life better this year.

To the authors: you guys are the most amazing and sweet people ever, I know that I'm not active as other readers and I don't reblog your works enough - and I'm sorry for that, I wish I could shower you with the praises you guys deserve.

Hope this will make up for all the comments and reblogs that I haven't give.

And to the readers who find this recs: most of these stories are series and most of them has age gap and are Joel Miller x fem/afab!reader. I won't put warnings from each fic because it would be a too long post, so click the link and read the author's warnings in each before you start to read - I'm afraid to get into fandoms because of people who give shit to authors, so please, don't be this kind of person.

A stranger's heart without a home (complete)

Summary: A one night stand that later becomes a secret affair – or masterpiece of literature – all the poets and great writers ran so Doni could walk.

This is my favorite fic of all times, forever! I read and re-read it so much that I can’t even count how many times I’ve had read it, it’s my 100% comfort fic. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope, and the way @morning-star-joy developed here it’s perfection in the most pure way.

It’s Joel on his Jackson era and it’s a perfect character development from both sides, how to people who prefer to deal things on their own learn to rely on someone else.

I also highly recommend But you know the killer doesn't understand, which it’s on-going Joel x fem! Reader also post-Outbreak in Jackson, but it’s different and addicting as ASHWAH.

A Lover’s Pinch (on-going)

Summary: a one night stand (do I have a pattern?) at the bar turns to be so much more when you discover that your fling it’s your professor at university.

The professor x student trope might be cliché for some, and by the very brief summary that I wrote above may sound like Pretty Little Liars, but @hier--soir works with those elements and creates something beyond amazing, it is like contemplate a work of art at a museum, but much better.

I’m very much obsessed with this story, that’s why I reread it with more and more frequency.

Can’t even mention the references in this story – it’s truly enriching, it makes all better, truly.

Plus: the playlist it’s amazing!!!!

Short Days, Long Nights (on-going)

Summary: Remnants of a band travelers, you and Joel find a cabin in the woods - what would be the problem with staying?

I’m crazy about this one, it’s my true love and it had 3 or 4 chapters when I started and now we’re heading to chapter 17, blessed be @frannyzooey for sustaining us with this preciosity for so long.

I'm a sucker for when there's one character (Joel) reluctant for his feelings, and if the story was only about this, I would be perfectly glad too with, too. BUT Kelli it's a genius, an amazing writer, giving me all that I didn't even knew I wanted.

It's fluff, with smut from the highest quality - with some tense moments, wich turns everything more addicting.

A Safe Haven (on-going)

Summary: Joel's quickly drawn to the vet of Jackson - even knowing she's married. Will this affair thrive? Or there's more underneath of the vet's story? (Jesus Christ, I’m so sorry for this lame summary, but I refuse to copy from your masterlist and I’m also rushing to finishing this rec today).

I was bought on the infidelity trope and the drama that comes with it. It would still be a nice story, but @joelsgreys it’s so much fucking talented that she wrote the most beautiful thing ever!

It has tooth roting fluff, drenching panties smut and heartstopping angst! All perfectly written and balanced.

I also love how Ellie it's also a crucial character for the couple's history and I really adore how she's attached to Peach.

Special mention to Fall Into Temptation and Strawberry, that lived rent free in my mind since I've read those.

Seams (on-going)

Summary: Joel pays visit to Jackson's seamstress after a trouble with his too-tight jeans – and it's only heaven from that on, won't say more.

Now I call @fuckyeahdindjarin ✨Queen of the Build Up✨ and that's because the way Cee builds up the sexual tension between characters it's undescribable.

Cee is such an excellent writer, not only in Seams but on other stories too she's gives a rich description of details that makes the reading flow better, it's like knowing you looking at gem stone.

Breakout (complete)

Summary: Boxer!Joel AU when he has to train a fuckboy who happens to date a sweet little thing.

Well I'm a fan from @the-ginger-hedge-witch for a while, she wrote one of the best Javier Peña fics ever (which turned into a book and that's fucking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!) and other amazing stories, but this one got me hooked so bad.

Clearly I have a pattern because I LOVE when there is an obstacle for the characters to stay together, in this case, a relationship (I already spoiled that her boyfriend sucks, but I don't think it's spoils the story development) and Ren just atests she's a wonderful writer - now book writer, blessed be her 🙏🏻

And the idea of Joel using his fists it's already apealing, am I right?

I also recommend Friendly Fire, that I love just for knowing that in this, Ren envisioned an Aries character for reader - but also the premise of the story is great, too.

In The Woods Somewhere (complete)

Summary: living alone in a cabin at the apocalypse gets less dull when a teenager appears with a handsome injured man.

I've read this since a while, but it marked me. @eupheme created such tenderness between the characters - they know he and Ellie can't stay, which makes the affair even more apealling.

I’ll know It when I see it (on-going)

Summary: Joel as a porn star in its golden era who meets Lucky, a rising star in porn - chemestry goes beyond the cameras.

@bageldaddy deserves all the shout out forever because this here it's golden. They're both are porn stars and I could be hot just for this, but of course there's feelings involved - and the way they struggle to fight against these it's what makes this story even more perfect. Shout out to the one shot Sundown, as well, it’s completely wonderful.

Something wretched about this (complete)

Summary: Joel Miller it's a self appointed pharmacist in the QZ, and fucks you when you don't have how to pay for your father's medicine

Whoring yourself for meds sounds bad? In this story it's hot af! It's filthy, each chapter explores different sexual practices and it's THE. BEST. THING. IN. THE. WORLD!!!

@covetyou it's the most blessed being for writing a perfection like this, seriously. I loved every single chapter of this, loved Joel being an asshole and a slut. I can't tell enough how much joy this story has brought me. And lo it's better than Santa, because she provides christmas gifts for the nice and naughty, with Freeze-thaw (smut with fluff) and Baubles (smut with FILTH) - I can't die before I try the balldo, I didn't even knew this, didn't think that this could be possible - but happily it is, and this one shot it's perfect in every aspect.

Take Care of You (on-going)

Summary: Joel it's a sugar daddy in this AU and appears in your life to make all better 👀 He doesn't charges for the sexual part of the arrangement, but he's irresistible - so what will you do?

The ideia of a sugar daddy it's extremely appealing to me because that's all I wanted, you know? Some rich hot guy telling me I don't need to work and paying everything to me - that's living! Okay jk, but I started reading this when things caught up badly at work, so it was a sweet refuge.

@theidiotwhowritesthings it's the perfect writer! It's the perfect slow burn that makes you thirst for more and more!

Apothecary (complete)

Summary: Summary: Joel falls in love with the "witch" from Jackson and it has its perks and struggles.

I LOVE Practical Magic, it's one of my favorites witch movies so to read something inspired on that it's great -but @atinylittlepain it's such a wonderful, talented, amazing writer - so we were all blessed with this masterpiece.

It has fluff, angst, smut - stupid people being scared about what they don't understand and etc. It's very sweet, Joel also doesn't understands about her, but can't help being drawn. And Ellie it's a natural, their relationship here, how they grow to be a family ... it's utterly sweet. Special mention to Only Lovers Left Alive (another movie that I LOVE), The Heyloft and the masterpiece Down to The Ankles (it's perfection and it's inspired in Bones and All, other film that I truly love).

Come home (on-going)

Summary: when you've lost everything and everyone, you reach to Jackson - and meets a ruggedly handsome who you can't help being drawn to.

I've read this for a while, as well, but I still think about this story often. It's a slow burn - which I love (in case you haven't noticed from the stories listed above) - and it's so sweet, the blossom of a friendship that turns to more, their relationship with Ellie ... It's been a while since it was uptaded and I hope @imtryingmybeskar it's okay, because this story it's lovely and I really wish to see and ending for them.

Catalyst

I'm gonna just summarize that it's a threesome with Joel and Frankie Morales from Triple Frontier, that's it - if that ain't reason enough for you to read, idk man.

I didn't even knew that I wanted it, that I needed it - until I read it. I find threesomes hot af, but I don't tend to enjoy when it's with characters that I love too deeply - don't ask me why - but in THIS ONE, GOD FUCKING DAAAAAMN!

It has filth, of course, but there's also fluff - which I find inevitable when it's about Frankie. In the chapter Here, especially, @ezrasbirdie builds perfectly of the struggles that I imagine for a threeway relationship, reading it was sad, hot and lovely.

So actually a good 80% of this is written from personal experience LOL I used to dance and was into drift building/racing in my late teens/early twenties! Most of the references or scenes in Midnight Menagerie are references to things I've seen or done in real life, OR stories friends have told me within the same field. (Nora is literally just a rebranding of this one mutual friend we had who just. Absolutely fucking unhinged) Like for example, the anticipated Hangover Chapter is just a retelling of an insane Summer weekend I had in 2017 ☠️ it's a personal delight being able to translate things into the narrative, even more so knowing people find my stupid, terrible decisions as amusing as I do in current times lol

My general rule of thumb is to write from experience. Things I understand either on a technical point or emotional connection. So, if you've read it in my work, it's probably something I've done LOL

Another reason I find drive in writing this type of narrative is that MM!Blake's type of dissociative PTSD is something I haven't seen much in media in general. I've seen people depict her in various ways (some of them good!), but none of them ever really apply directly to me, so I wanted to make something that I could relate to and how to properly navigate life, given the environmental circumstances. Plus some us need better examples on how to juggle mental illness as adults and also be in healthy long term relationships because damn I have zero reference LOL

For the fic recs, oh boy I have so many LOL time to be a pathetic fangirl on main but okay here's the ones that immediately jump to mind (also heads up most of these are mature or explicit rating);

We all know this one but it is, hands down, my favorite piece of literature of all time. Masterfully crafted and a timeless classic worth several rereads (and I have. Embarrassingly so)

As someone who worked in the sex industry for a brief period of time, this one's not only accurate but also A DELIGHT to read. The premise is fun, captivating, and worth the wait. I actually discovered a chapter update earlier this year and sent the gc into hysterics because we thought the fic was dead LMAO props to these authors!! They're doing an amazing job and deserve praise

4. You're A Mountain, Full Of Glory

I should just preface already that every book Blake reads in MM is a fanfiction that exists because I love Easter eggs. Everyone knows I had Blake reference this in chapter 3 LOL but it's equally as immaculate as Erin's work. I LOVED especially the dynamic between Weiss, Yang, and Ruby in this one. Baby, we're complicated fucking murdered me 😭 also that fuckass Christmas scene, that's my favorite Christmas song LMAO

5. The Home Inside Your Head

Written by the ever skilled @/writeriguess . I found this fic by accident by seeing fanart for it floating around on this site. Got curious, picked at it, and. Oh, my god. It's not very often my brain gets scratched in the right way, but boy this one does it. This author does something specifically unique I haven't seen many do before, and I applaud them for it. There's great detail on the scenes that matter, and the fucking organic build up between Blake and Yang is just. God. Chef's kiss. Truly. It feels so god damn natural and healthy and it's already crossing off several of my agendas already. Give this one a read and give the author some love. SENSUAL FACE TOUCHING? CHAPTER 13????? BOOOOOOOYYYYYYY I'm normal about it

6. You'd Be Paranoid Too (If Everyone Was Out To Get You)

Okay so this one's completely different than what I've previously listed but HOLY FUCKING SHIT IS IT A THRILLER. It doesn't nearly have the amount of love and attention it truly deserves. A friend of mine recommended it to me because it shook them so fucking hard they were in total brainrot hell for a MONTH. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY LMAO God I was obsessed with this for weeks myself. It obviously lives up to it's rating, horror fics aren't for everyone. But if you're able to read it, good lord you should. It's chilling, captivating, and had me on the edge of my fucking seat the entire time. Both endings are good, I still can't decide which one I prefer but RAH I will make sure this is seen god dammit

7. You And Me and This Temptation

Okay this one was an accidental find as well. A friend sent it to me because THEY found it by accident, I clicked on it for later, went looking for a completely different fic that I mistook for this one, started skimming and realized 'wait a minute LMAO I don't recognize this'. But the thing you have to understand is I hate reading. I'm not a reader, I'm picky and it needs to be worth sitting down for long periods of time. This is one of the rare instances where I was so captivated by it I kept reading more and more from the middle where I landed, and eventually just said ykw let me just start from the beginning cus LMAO context.

This one is, by far, one the healthiest and loveliest depictions of first times I have ever seen. This shit was so inspiring to me that it literally kickstarted an essay in someone's DMs why depictions like this are so important. I didn't have this experience irl, and why MM is written the way it is is because its meant to serve as a lighthouse for those who, like me, haven't. This fic however I feel like should be a required read for anyone getting into relationships for the first time because if it's not like how these two interact, LEAVE IT. This is the standard. This is amazingly written, it's the closest I've ever seen canon Yang and Blake be written to date. The fucking souvenir bit 😭 NJKFGNFJKGNGJ killed me, I was kicking my feet laughing for a good minute. This is the kind of standard everyone should look at and go 'yeah, I want what they have' BECAUSE IT'S CORRECT. LOUD CORRECT BUZZER NOISES

Honestly everything in my bookmarks is certified Kaeli Fresh but these 7 are my top faves. They're probably also really commonly known I'm sure but LMAO like I said I don't read much 😭 which is heavily ironic considering I write myself. Anyway this ended up way longer than I intended but LOL <3 <3 go give these incredible authors love!!

First of all, thank you, 2023. This year was a life-shaping year. I hit a lot of lows but also had some of the most heart-fulfilling highs, and I want to hit on some of my highs in this post.

I met someone so near and dear to my heart not once but twice this year. On a whim, @jake-kiszkas-smirk texted me the day of a listening party for Starctacher saying, "Hey please come out to this listening party for Greta with me." and on a crazy, very unlike my type-A planner self, said "Yes". It was the best decision of my life because I got to finally meet her in person and experience Starcatcher with her for the first time and it was just so incredibly special. Then, we met up again at our Starcatcher show where we finally got a picture together and it was just so sweet. K means so much to me; I'm so grateful to have her in my life. She's been my rock throughout this entire year, and because she's so incredibly stubborn me saying this is gonna make her roll her eyes but, she has been so incredibly important in my life this year. She's usually the first person I reach out to when something shitty has happened, she was the first person I came out to, I tell her about my day almost every day, and she's constantly blessing me with the best book and tv show recommendations! She's an incredibly amazing friend and person and I cannot wait to see the change she makes in the world in this upcoming year. I love you so freaking much K, and can't wait to spend this next year and many more as your friend❤️

I also met @sacredjake and @malany-benton at my Starcatcher show, and it was so sweet!!! I miss them so freaking much, but I am so glad we met. Love y'all bunches❤️

Hit on this at the end of my K appreciation speil but I came out as queer!!!🏳️‍🌈🥳 After years upon years of suppressing my feelings, I'm very proud of myself for accepting my queerness. I'm still navigating living out my queerness and sexuality while still being relatively in the closet, but I'm glad that I have Tumblr and friends who support me and hold safe spaces for me to be wholly me and gush about my current crushes lol🫶🏻

I guess the big one is I graduated high school and started college. That's pretty neat, I guess lol. I also finished my first semester of college, which is a big deal, but yeah, whatever, lol. Proud that I didn't die through my first college finals, lol!

I love the fact that even if I'm feeling upset, just a couple of words and a nickname has be smiling like an idiot for the next hour as I think about it

I love it when I'm able to get her to talk about something I know she enjoys and she js infodumps without a care in the world at that very moment (baizhu, her job, her studies, etc etc,,, wait until I find more things she enjoys)

i love her sweet nature, literally thinks me as the type of girlie that's literally a Disney princess. all the animals and kiddies love her. but then if someone especially wrongs someone she holds dear, she gets angy

i love how appreciating and mostly welcoming she is, and doesn't expect anything in return when she literally blesses someone with just her presence alone (too bad. in this essay I will talk about vi and only vi)

i love the instances wherein she's able to stand up to herself !! very strong

i love how she remembers/tries to remember small things about people

i love how she manages to make me (and others) smile so effortlessly, and I want nothing more than to do the same for her

i love that she's so willing to just. love

i love when she's passionate about something

i love how fast she hits me with the "you don't have to, really <3" uh. no. I'm loving you ten times more now

Hard. • He would take you to the desert at night, when it gets colder, to make you admire the breathtaking landscape • He'd say something cheesy like "you're the most breathtaking landscape" just to make you blush and huff in embarrassment • And if you hide your face, some pokes will definitely come! It's Cyno's duty as the General Mahamatra to punish you for the crime of "hiding the most beautiful face of the world" • I'm sure he would try to take you to the desert during the day as well just to show you how different it is with sunlight, but he'd end up dumping a bucket of water on you because he'd notice that you're not the best at handling the heat • Then he'd drag you all the way to Gandharva Ville and beg Tighnari to check you up just to make sure you're actually okay • Idk why but I think Tighnari would wreck both of you because you'd be two little dummies together, but your shenanigans always amuse and endear him • Since you're both athletic people, you could go on morning runs together before Cyno has to go to work, and it would be the general's second favorite moment of the day (the first would be coming home to you after work or after a mission) • I feel like Cyno would fall victim to sweet little sneak attacks... and they always work since his torso and feet are always exposed • Let's not forget that Cyno graduated from the Akademiya, so he could ramble about random facts and explain you everything you wanna know • And obviously... you'd have lots of TCG matches since you like playing games and he likes playing this game! And there may or may not be a penalty for the loser~

🔮 Tickle scenario

Being from Khaenri'ah, you weren't exactly the biggest fan of the Archons, nor the firmest believer, but you were sure that they blessed you in the instant when you met Cyno.

He was just perfect for you... and he made you feel at home in a compliment foreign country like Sumeru. He was so goofy and affectionate, but he also had that solemn aura of authority that made you admire him even more. You two shared many hobbies, which made the two of you get even closer, although the general could be merciless while playing Genius Invokation TCG...

But he usually found a way to make you forgive him for being too aggressive while playing, like he was doing when he dragged you around the whole Avidya Forest to make you see the most beautiful landscapes (he got some pointers from Tighnari).

"So... do you forgive me for yelling while playing?" The general asked you with sad, pleading puppy eyes while you two were sitting on a huge tree branch. "Well, that yell startled me quite a lot..." You pouted. The truth is, you had already forgiven him the moment he took you to a very big and tall tree to watch the sunset, but seeing him so troubled was quite cute.

"I see..." He said in a solemn tone, trying in vain to hide his sadness and mortification, "I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable, and take all the time you need to forgive me..." That tone, that nervous fidgeting with his hands, those sad eyes... you couldn't help it, you bursted out laughing.

"Cyno... babey... I was just messing with you..." You finally confessed, watching his expression turn from guilty to confused to astonished to pouty. "Come on... don't pout! I couldn't help it, your reactions were just too cute~" You teased, but the general remained grumpy.

"Awe... won't you smile for me..? I know you want to~" You whispered the last sentence into his ear while scribbling gently up and down his back, enjoying the series of startled sounds and choked laughter that left your partner's mouth.

"See? Just give in and gimme a smile, holding it in is pointless" You teased in a very sweet tone, something you probably learned while getting wrecked by Yae during your time in Inazuma.

However, Cyno was tough and it would be a lie to say you didn't know... Archons, his head was sturdier than a plank of Adhigama Wood! You were sure that only drastic measures would've been enough with him, and being a good partner you knew exactly what you needed.

In a swift movement, you straddled him and wrapped him in a tight hug, then you started blowing a series of quick little raspberries on his collarbones. It was a little unusual to be so sensitive there, but Cyno was a very peculiar person so he didn't surprise you too much.

"HMMMM- HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OKAY OKAHAHAY IHIHI'M LAHAUGHIHIHIHING STAHAHAHAHAHAP" He finally gave up after lasting so long. "See? It wasn't so hard~" You kissed the white-haired guy on the nose, turning him into a flustered mess.

Eventually, the sun began to set to leave the scene to the night sky, so you and your lover decided to glide down from the tree and head home together.

However, as soon as your feet touched the ground, you stumbled over something you clearly hadn't seen, and before you knew what was going on, you found yourself lying on your stomach on the soft grass with a weight on your back.

Well... that weight had a name, and that name was Cyno.

"Cyno, what the-" You started, but he quickly interrupted you, "I, the General Mahamatra, will not tolerate your crimes of mischief any further. Judgment is upon you!"

With that sentence, he started scribbling on your right thigh and squeezing on the left one, switching techniques to never let you get used to the feeling. "Nonono- HEHEHEHEHEHEHE WAHAHAIT IHIHIHIHI'M SAHAHAHARRY NOHOHOHOT THIHIHIS!!!" You begged, but your pleads fell on deaf ears and the tickle attack continued.

"WAAAAAEEEHEHEHEHEHE PLEHEAHAHAHSE NOHOHOHOHOT THIHIHIS!! ANYTHIHIHIHING BUHUHUT THIHIHIS!!!" You pleaded pointlessly. Cyno knew your limits very well, and he was aware that you still hadn't reached it.

Suddenly, an idea hit you. You managed to turn your arms back and with a bit of luck, you found Cyno's bare feet, completely vulnerable as he was sitting on top of you. It took only a quick scribble to make him jump off and finish that tickle fight.

"You're a meanie..." You panted while you recovered from that brutal thigh-tickle attack. "But you love me~" He replied with a smug knowing smile. "Indeed I do..." You grabbed his hand and finally started heading home.

"Technically I won the tickle fight~" You teased.

"Don't make me go for another round..."

idk man since ao3 is still down i think we should all just talk about how fanfic makes us feel and why it's so important, i'll start:

despite all of the bullshit that comes with it, writing is the MOST FUN thing i've ever done and i LOVE doing it. and honestly, fuck the numbers and metrics, knowing how or why or when people read my stuff is the most amazing thing.

GOD!!! AND CHARACTERIZATION!!! when people compliment me on my characterization i cry, because i try so HARD!!! AND IT'S NOT FOR YOU! it's for me, i want them to be in character. i want them to be fully fleshed, three dimensional, someone with feelings and wants that you can understand.

and it's so good to read fic like idc man. reading fic and watching someone improve? one of the best feelings in the world. another writer nailing an emotion or scene transition or dialogue? GOD!! I LOVE IT WHEN DIALOGUE IS ON POINT!!! NOTHING GETS ME MORE EXCITED!!

and the pacing?? of a fic, hot damn if it's well paced, i'm in it to win it. and PLOT LINESSSS, plots are so hard....good job other writers, because i can't fucking do it LMFAO

i admire the FUCK out of writers that like can tackle different personalities and characters. i'm often just writing the same kinds of characters, but other people out here writing ten different people perfectly TEACH ME your ways, please.

and sweet apple pies, when the punctuation and grammar is on point? know that i'm taking your hand, author, and kissing it. thank you, bless.

Hi! Can I request ray and ge saeran with an autistic mc? Specifically I do little leg kicks and the arm flaps whenever I'm really excited about something and I tend to be nonverbal. Sometimes I feel a little embarrassed about what others may think, but I also think that my quirks can be really cute. I know that ray/saeran love me no matter what, but I wonder if they would be a little confused by it

Ray thinks you're adorable. Granted, it is important to say that he thinks everything you do is adorable and there is no discriminating factor. Whenever you do anything with him, he thinks it's an amazing experience because he gets to learn more about you and the way that you express yourself.

It wouldn't take long for him to realize that you get excited in this manner, and while he might not understand the first time, after that, he would know right away that he managed to make you really happy. Being able to see you comfortable and happy with him is a blessing in itself.

He would never want you to feel insecure or ashamed of the way that you respond to positive stimuli. He might be able to relate to you more than you think given the fact that he has an emoji he designed himself that claps excitedly when something good happens. It's not that different from that! Oh, would you like your own emoji that does that? Oh, he can do that.

Now you match!

He would make a point of trying to find the best way to pull these reactions out of you because he wants you to feel comfortable in your own skin, and he wants you to feel as if you're allowed to be vulnerable around someone like him. He wants to be the most important person in your life and that means experiencing everything you have to offer.

There is a chance that he might not be sure why you react to things that way, but he's not going to say anything about it. Everything about you is perfect to him. You are perfect, by the way. You need to feel comfort in the way that you express excitement because there's nothing wrong with the way you do it.

GE Saeran noticed this about you a long time ago, but he never thought to say anything.

He doesn't know a lot of people and most of his experiences with intimacy and being close to another person come from you. He assumes that your reactions to most things are the typical reaction. In his case, he hasn't been exposed to biases that exist in the world beyond what he grew up in. He doesn't have the capacity to judge other people nor would he want to do so.

In his heart, he wants to be kind to everyone and everything because his experience on this Earth is one that he wants to make better not only for himself but for other people. It's sweet. But, he still has a lot to learn about other people regardless of how compassionate he is.

He's a little behind on knowledge, so give him patience with that!

If you're insecure about the way you react to positivity, he won't tease you about it. But there will be a smile on his face every time you let loose and show this vulnerable side of yourself to him without second-guessing yourself. It's a hallmark of the fact that you trust him with every side of yourself. You don't want to mask around him and pretend to fit into a society that shouldn't have made you bend in the first place.

Saeran wants to see you smile, no matter how you smile. Thank you for feeling safe with him.

I'm LITTERALLY just hungry while making this

You were in the kitchen, in Secret. Because celestia forbid if you cook your own food. In the middle of making a sweet and spicy sauce, you were mixing flour and such, peeling eggs and what ever. As soon as the sauce was finished you started to heat the oil up, fry the boiled eggs. When Xiangling walked into the kitchen. "What are you making your Grace?" "Some Kwek-Kwek" you respond grabbing a barbeque stick and stabbing some on it handing it to Xiangling.

She looked at the bowl of sauce and dipped it in and carefully placed it in her mouth, "Your Grace! This is Amazing!"

"Dapat lang, it's one of my favorite street foods" it should be, and it is, guess you're getting your kitchen privlages back.

You were deemed the imposter, so hunting was the only thing you could do. Rationing out the things you hunt, Birds was the best source of food including the insides. But this time you wanted to eat the feet. Because why not you missed it. You collected stuff for seasoning cleaning the feet. And Leaving it to Boil while you crush up the seasoning.

Cooking it took a while, which was fine. You needed the fire for warmth as well, so it's a win-win. Then it finally came the time, It was time to grill the meet, putting on top of open fire and deciding to have it for dinner. bless it was sticky, but it was delicious, especially since you took the time to cook it yourself. That's when you heard rustling in the bushes, "WHO'S THERE!?" Almost dropping your dinner, you saw a young girl with blue hair with 2 other males."Hwah! Y-you're the imposter!" The one in light blue attire said. "Apparently so, at least let me est my food...".you said, spitting out part of the feet's bone. The other male stares in a mix of digust and curiosity. The girl, however, is full of wonder and curiosity. "That's edible!?" She asks with high enthusiasm. You nod, taking another bite and picking up a makeshift place of leaves, reaching it out to her. "Want some? Its an aquired taste tho."

She picked a stick up, "i dont know how to eat it though"

You smile and said "i can teach you, so you start with the fingers, and you bite it little by little.... chew the bone off....and try to get as much of the meat off—" you soat out a clean bone. "—its kind of sticky though so be careful"

You watch her take a bite, and her eyes slowly lit up, "Wow! This is delicious. " The filipino pride swellung in you, finally an underated dish is loved by another person is loved by someone else.

You've written for a bunch of characters and are amazing at all of them, but can I just ask how you get to know each character well enough to write them accurately? Because sometimes, playing their route isn't enough for me, and as much as I'd love there to be a guide to writing each character, that doesn't exist and everyone writes them differently, so how do you figure it out so damn well?

Oh, oh bless your little heart abhdsajkdachhhaha. Characterisation is my weak point. I know it, most of my readers know it, God, my haters certainly know it. I suck at characterisation. It's my biggest point of insecurity in my writing so the fact you sent this to me, just bless you you're so bloody sweet.

Characterisation is hard.

I genuinely think the things that have helped me the most with characterisation are:

Talking to other people about the game

Join a discord, post lots on tumblr, interact, make memes, etc. The more you see someone say "this is so Jakub-coded", or do a fan casting of a TV show you like featuring LITG characters, you'll start to get a better idea of their personalities.

Be open and creative with headcanons.

@driftycities's Lewie in 'To Let a Good Thing Die' broke me. @sparxaf's Felix in This Momentary Blue. There are a million examples of where a headcanon can change the entire fic. In the first, Lewie talks in a Yoda voice when he's drunk, and it's adorable. In TMB, Felix's mum was a classical pianist, and she taught him to play, and he's good, and it's so sad.

One really well thought out headcanon can form the basis for the entire character development. It also really sticks with people.

Read other people's fics.

This isn't to say copy them. Not at all. But if you read other people's stories, you'll start forming your own ideas of what they're like.

(Optional) Answer questions about your characters

I'm a bit of a pantser, I'll be honest. I find it easiest to write when I have zero plan and just dive straight into it. But on the odd occasion I have planned something out, I've found it really helpful to have some side questions about them.

What's their heartrate challenge song, and what would they wear? Do they like coffee or tea? What about their family-- what are they like, and how does your character get on with them?

I don't know if this is helpful whatsoever. I wish there was a guide to writing each character hahahahha! But the interpretations would be so wildly different that it would be a mess.
