The close-up of Victor, who sees Yuuri running towards him and waves at him. His facial expression changes, so every change has its own instruction written on the pink sheets of paper. On the first one that we showcased here, we see "Happiness is welling up in him, because Yuuri really came to St. Petersburg" and Victor with an indescribable facial expression is depicted. The next shot is of Victor waving his hand and we read "he's so happy that his brows are knitted together a bit" and "A really big smile, please! With 'At last, we can skate together!!' meaning..." Face of Victor, who greets Yuuri is full of emotions. The left bottom image is the layout corrected by Hiramatsu Tadashi - we see Victor's face really bursting with happiness. The last cut of the show is a big smile, full of anticipation towards skating.

Japanese dub of ep 6 says Eros is the most technically difficult routine of Yuuri's career, which tracks for obvious reasons (not least of which is, it includes the first quad salchow he ever lands in competition)

and based on the jumps, original jump layout Eros is a tidge more technically difficult than Agape, on account of both have a 3A, a 4T, a 4S, and a 3T in combo with one of the quads, but Agape has some of those in the first half

but English dub of ep 6 says Eros is the most technically difficult short program in history

which. you seriously trying to tell me Victor's SP in the Sochi GPF season didn't have two quads, one of which was the flip? or are you trying to tell me Eros and Agape both beat that program on the technical difficulty of the other components? see also, why I think the season Victor landed the first 4F was the first of his five-season win-all-the-things streak

(Eros in ep 11 being the most technically difficult short program in history, that I am willing to believe, since it's got the 4F and 4S as well as the 3A and 3T, so any program that could beat it would need two quads, and the only people we see jumping any quad other than the 4T in combination are the Yuris doing 4S+3T; unless Emil's SP combo has a quad we weren't told about, the only skaters this season doing two quads in their SP are JJ, Chris, both Yuris, and presumably post-ep-12 Victor; JJ's second-half 4Lz gives his SP jump layout a slight advantage over ep 11 Yuuri, but we never hear that JJ is doing difficult jump entrances or known for his step sequences or spins)

Personality + Facts:

As mentioned afore, she’s very spacey, then sometimes energetic, generally when she consumes large amounts of caffeine. She’s become immune to small amounts. She loves swinging her feet while sitting and can be a bit childlike at times (which is funny to watch because she has quite the mature appearance.) for example, she is easily surprised, but it’s not super apparent, because her eyes almost always look sleepy. She’s very calm, and is reminiscent of ice that’s so cold it’s hot and vice versa. (Her surname ‘Atsuisamui’ literally means ‘hot cold’.) She’s kindhearted, but also very chilled out. She loves birds, especially nocturnal ones, and is somewhat based off of nightingales. She is strangely cool with the idea of robbing an elderly person. She is in love with the rain and you can always find her smiling away when there are dark clouds. Most of the time she’s very cheerful. She often acts clueless, but she’s extremely knowledgeable. She is a huge fan of literature, especially Shakespeare. She absolutely loves jazz, as well as some standards.

Side note:

If someone does order her around, she can get quite ticked off. It’s kind of weird to see since she’s so calm normally.

Tumblr has always been my primary roleplay place. I’ve used Discord a few times but only with friends of mine and mostly for non-serious threads. (I say mostly, because goddamn. Some of those—)

Best experience:

I’m not sure. Probably just any time I am able to find an interesting relationship between my characters and the other party, in a sense that I enjoy their dynamic and situation right off the bat. Instead of it just being a “this has been going on for a while and I have no idea where it’s going”.

RP Pet Peeves/Dealbreakers:

Bad grammar and odd layouts. Which I mean, everyone has their own style or has trouble with the language but that is something I have been pretty picky about even when I start reading something. I won’t cut off the thread simply because of that, of course, but it is something that irks me a bit.

Constantly being on me about responding to a thread. It’s just gonna make me not want to respond to it more, guys—

Also—mega dealbreaker—if they don’t read my rules. I’ve had a few of those of late, so I posted a few reminders for that (not to mention that has been in the blog’s bio for quite some time) so hopefully it’ll be able to clear off soon enough. “I'm Uno Shoma, a figure skater. I think last season was a really good one. I'm really satisfied that at the end of it, I was able to get a result better than I ever have until now. A scene that's left in my memory is... If there are good competitions, there are also bad ones. There have been a few competitions where I haven't been able to show my usual strength, or like ones I got injured at, those stay in my memory. Lately in figure skating, the development of the jump techniques are amazing. After all, the main score is jumping as well. You can watch the dynamicity of jumping quads and doing movements you normally wouldn't do on top of that, on a land that is different than the ground. There are two songs for short and free programs. I think the appeal of figure skating is having artistry in those programs, as well as the jumps. Regarding the layout for next season, I take into consideration what I want to do, as well as my coach and the people around me, during the off season. Of course there are also times I change it depending on my condition during the season itself. I leave the song selection completely to my coach. Last season was good even for my opinion, but I have the confidence that I can still improve. I hope I can show you how I can grow with each season. The song that is most important to me is "Leo" by Yuuri. The reason why I chose this song... I'm not interested in music much, but when I watched the music video, I think on YouTube, for this song... Lately I began to keep dogs. There were scenes with dogs in the video. It was right around the time for Olympics. I shed tears as I watched the video and that's how I began to listen to this song. I don't really have a special occassion for when I listen to it, but even if I hear it in passing, I think it's amazing. It really moves me.”

Stammi Vicino in Playlist of a Love

Since I didn't want to have giant notes at the end of my chapters, I'm moving some of the rambling here ^^'

Today: The Stammi Vicino program layout in this chapter! :D

I actually sat down and rewatched the Stammi Vicino scene from ep.1 a lot to write down the layout as we see it there. Luckily there was commentary because I'll die before I can tell apart a flip and a toe loop for some reason... I starred at Yuuri's feet for 5 minutes because I couldn't figure out if there was a change of foot or not in the camel spin...Spoiler alert: there was.

Now there's some air for a new world record at worlds :D That's all I have to say about that haha.

Yuri!!! on ICE MAPPA Select book, Making of the animation

Part 1.

We'll introduce you to the process of creating Yuri!!! on ICE sakuga. We are going to look mainly at the last scene of episode 12., the raw materials, such as ekonte [director's storyboards] and corrections, that were the base for genga, and their intended meaning. The ekonte and directions that we have shown here are by Yamamoto Sayo and Hiramatsu Tadashi was the animation supervisor.

The scene at the end of episode 12., Yuuri is running. He came to St. Petersburg, and is running towards Victor and Yuri, who are waiting for him. If you take a look at the ekonte, it says "He wants to reunite with Victor and Yuri quickly, and you can see that looking at him". This desire is portrayed by making Yuuri run with his upper body bend forward. Based on the ekonte, the animator draws a layout, and the directions concerning the layout are written on the pink sheet of paper. There's a memo there saying: "Make his outerwear a bit loose" and you can see that the lines were corrected accordingly. Based on these directions, the animation supervisor is introducing changes to the layout. Also in this scene, Yuuri is running on a bridge, and that links this scene to the scene in episode 2.
