a little long but not really. break tiem

basically she's a twitch streamer and occasional hacker and she's really feisty towards pretty much anyone she meets. she's bi and like 23 or something in one generation (1st).

she acts cocky and confident around other people but she's hiding a lot of deep shit. she watched both her parents die in front of her, one after the other (mother died during oliver's birth, father was involved in a freak accident). at the time that her dad died she was able to take care of oliver but not herself, he came first. she's still dealing with all that trauma.

she frequently fights with leslie (because she's gay and doesn't know how to tell them her feelings) but is kind towards morgan (because morgan is so so innocent). all three are roommates but it's mainly amber that pays the bills. she can drive but mainly lets/makes leslie drive instead.

she and oliver are siblings, she's two years older than him. she's the "has seen the horrors but is oblivious" to his "has seen the horrors"; the horrors being them not being real living breathing people. she frequently calls him a fucker and he's very aware that it's out of love (platonic). she helped him pick out his chosen name.

she and zac get along really well, partially because they've both struggled with s/h since they were kids, partially because they're both Not Neurotypical. also since she knows morgan (his sister) pretty well she knows him pretty well too. ALSO also since oliver is his husband. they're pretty close!

in another generation i'm going on and off about her being a surrogate mother to jack because oliver has hashtag Reproductive Issues but i haven't fully decided that yet. it'd be sweet if it was oliver bc it Worked that time but it being amber is more realistic. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Film after film: The Beach Bum (dir. Harmony Korine, 2019)

Since Gummo, which is still my favorite of his films (though for purely sentimental reasons), Korine has cleaned up his filmmaking to the point that it looks almost mainstream – only the editing, sometimes interestingly glitchy, reminds of his early times. This film is a pleasant laid-back watch, and a good-heartedly heterosexist one. You get to spend most of the time with cis guys who want to fuck and smoke, and occasionally talk about "important things." While Efron lights up the screen whenever he shows up, this has sadly been his only interesting film appearance since the 2016 sequel to Neighbors.

how tf do i explain this lmao this one's a fucky one

so in gen 2 there's this big scary monster with a melting pot of dna with four neon green appendages coming out of its back. these appendages are extremely powerful strength wise. i forget what all this guy can do so i'm not going into detail but just know they're really fuckin powerful. this dude's saliva is the same neon green color and it can corrupt other living things if they come into contact with it.

so the government (called the heightened) is too afraid to kill this guy because it'd cause major destruction of the city if they did (he's a big boy). they experiment with it and what this "corruption" entails instead. yeah the heightened are all kinda stupid but its ran by scientists so what are you gonna do. they bring in regular people and test the effects on them. the changes became so catastrophically deadly and it quickly became public knowledge so no one was willing to volunteer anymore.

here comes zac. zac's at this party with his friends when one of his friends kidnaps him bc some government guy paid him to do that. his friend, felix, directly injects him with the saliva. zac doesn't die. he gains that strength, and those appendages, from the monster, and easily kills felix while breaking out. soon after this the city falls so he didn't get apprehended by the heightened for "committing a crime" (not his fault)

but yeah. gen/story jumping means zac still has those powers in every story this version of him is a part of. which is most of them 👍

the appendages are lodged in his back and hurt when they come out. they only really come out on their own when he's under severe stress or in a life or death situation. they can be coaxed out as well for if he knows he'll need them (and this method doesn't hurt) but it takes a while for them to come out this way. either way when they come out he goes through some physical changes; his muscles become stronger, he gets taller (he's 6'5 normally, probably grows a foot or two), his eyes turn neon green. plus other changes that i'm not getting into without a community label. his mind/thoughts become more feral and simple, focusing more on survival than anything else. when they go back in he gets normal again. he's ripped so many shirts apart because of this lmao

What do you think it was that got Vanessa and Zac to agree to cameo/guest on s4?! Something in the script? Something in this season?? Cuz that's crazy; they're pretty huge stars! The cameos from s1 were cute, but neither of those actors' cameos were significant to the overall plot. No one cameo'ed in s2, right? Except for Jordan Fisher (also amazing that they got him). S3 had Corbin and Jesse Tyler Fergusen (!!!). And now s4 Zac and Vanessa plus others possibly?! That's wild to me that a little mickey mouse show was able to do that! No other Disney shows have had cameos like this. What black magic is Tim using bts. (Lol my personal headcanon is that Rina script parallels to Troyellq made them come back for that story. I mean hell. Didnt Corbin agree partly bc he wanted to work with Sof?)

I would assume that they would have been pitched the idea and liked it :)

Maybe Corbin Bleu being in a large part of s3 helped as well as it sort of laid the ground work for them to come play themselves.

Frankly, I am not at all shocked at Joss Whedon's response. When the allegations came out against him, I expected one of two things to happen: Either he was going to stay silent and hope this all went away, or he was going to double-down on his behavior. Given the responses I've seen to his interview, he would have been better off keeping his mouth shut. That man is continuing to dig his own grave.

What disgusts me isn't just that he refuses to take responsibility for how hurtful he's been. It's how condescending and dismissive he is in that interview. It's how he takes passive-aggressive digs at the people who've spoken out against him. Claiming that he cut Cyborg's scenes in Justice League because Ray Fisher was a bad actor. Saying that Gal Gadot had misunderstood him because "English is not her first language." Blaming Zac Snyder for "tricking" Ray Fisher into believing that Whedon was racist against him. Claiming he's "one of the nicer showrunners that's ever been."

This is pretty common for bullies and abusive people: They are horrible and nasty towards others, and when they are called out for it, they either deflect responsibility, try to make it out like it's the other person's fault, or try to play the victim. Whedon had over a year since Ray Fisher's accusations to come up with a response, and this what he chose to say. That is so telling about the kind of person he is.

I have zero sympathy for Whedon. He has destroyed any goodwill at this point, and it is blatantly clear he does not practice what he preaches in regards to feminism. Here's to hoping he fades into obscurity.
