Review and Spoiler #34
Every Day by David Levithan
What if, you knew only inconsistency? What if, every day you woke up in a new body? What if, you broke the rules... and fell in love?
Every Day is a fantasy and young adult romance novel, depicting the story of a gender-less character called "A". For as long as "A" can remember, "he" has awakened in someone else's body every day. "A" never woke in the same body twice, never for any longer or shorter than 24 hours, and always in the body of someone his own age. "A" can access information about them, routines, names, some memories even, but not how they feel. Not how they think or see the world.
David Levithan continuously brings the theme of respect to light, throughout the novel. "A" always respects the body of the person "he" is in, and always tries to do the best for that person. "A" tries "his" best to not alter the person's life in any drastic ways. As different lives mean different stories, it is interesting to look at how the characters in the novel are going down the road of life and overcoming obstacles in almost every chapter all with different experiences, personalities, relationships, etc.

I'm alive!! <3
The last time I posted, it was a measly reblog, while of a funny post, it came with no effort from myself. I can't promise posts as consistent as from the beginning of last year (one every day), but I'll try to post more steadily this year.
I hope you all have had wonderful holidays and are having a good start to your New Year.
With admiration and resentment,

SolitaireĀ by Alice Oseman
Originally published in 2014, formerly mentioned genius and author, Alice Oseman's, book Solitaire was a riveting, emotional experience. A sort of unintentional prequel to her series Heartstopper. While the popular, light-hearted Heartstopper series did go over some deeper, darker topics, it remained sweet, endearing, and oh-so queer. On the other hand, the thorough masterpiece known as Solitaire provides a realistic, tear-wringing, in-depth perspective of the mind of a lonely teenage girl. Heartstopper's dear bean Charlie's, elder sister, Tori Spring. You know, the one with "elder sister magic" and diet lemonades at all times.
This story was poetic, Tori Spring direct and brash and honest and unapologetic, unlike most people, and generally raw. I found it meant a lot to me, as I read, the emotion and details, the realism, and truth of it all. I could confidently assume that many other readers could relate to it, and appreciate the feeling of being seen by the sweet guardian, Ms. Oseman.

Date Idea:
Go to a kids (Or any movie you want to watch) movie at the theater. The fun part is, go dressed up REALLY formally and fancy-like. Almost prom-level fancy. Eat all of the popcorn, candy, and slushy you want as you interfere with the projector with all of your sequins and shine.
Itā€™d be an absolute blast! Youā€™ll definitely be the best dressed. And you wouldnā€™t be embarrassed alone, but rather working it and owning it together.

ā€œSoul Contemplatingā€
ā€œFind two souls. Lay on opposite sides of the bed/couch. Turn off all electronics and lights. Just be. Be pure, honest, understanding. You'll both be more connected than either of you could have ever imagined. There's just one rule, no lying.
This other soul can vary from your best friend, a parent, sibling, or even your partner. It doesn't matter. Just as long as you are being real.
(Warning: after such a deep soul contemplation, you both may get slightly delusional. And in the end be laughing over the most random things. Like the word "Balm" or "Prime Rib Steak". But that's not a bad thing, it gives you guys an inside joke to bond through.)ā€

There are several questions we are all used to in life. What superpower would you want? What do you want to be when you grow up? What's your biggest regret? I havenā€™t lived too long, so I havenā€™t had many chances to do something so horrible nothing can be compared to how much I regret it. Until recently.
I'm an avid book-reader, enthusiast, collector, and lover. I've read many books, though not nearly enough, and have yet to read a book I did not enjoy. As all books are incredible in their own way, picking a favorite obviously is a challenging process, thus I have a three-way tie for favorite, and am unable to rank books any further than that. My three favorite books include: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski, Billy Summers by Stephen King, and Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. The novel Everything Everything was the first of these favorites to gain the unobtainable title of favorite. It's a beautiful and inspiring story, that I've reread one a year for five years. I'd also like to state that I have no problem with lending my books to others and giving book recommendations. I quite enjoy sharing incredible literature with others. But recently, I made the mistake of entrusting my beloved, well-cared for copy of Everything Everything with a stranger. With someone with not a care in the world for books and literature. Someone who I shall never trust again, and will hold a grudge against forever. She, whom I will not name, dog-eared, dozens of the delicate, worshiped pages in my copy of Everything Everything. I will regret to my grave, ever even giving thought to letting her lay eyes on my adored novel.
Although it does not contain the many memories attached to my original copy, my generous elder sister bought me a new, hardcover copy, which shall never be soiled by hands other than my own.

Movie Review and Spoiler - #12
ā€œElementalā€
Just out this June, "Elemental" is a Disney and Pixar animation, with an original and beautiful take on the Romeo-Juliet story of forbidden love.
When I watched this movie, I absolutely loved the art, characters, and plot! I can't remember ever crying this much to a rom-com animation. Maybe I was just extra emotional that day, but I can not exaggerate how much I related to the themes of the film and loved the story of Ember and Wade.
Spoiler: There once was a Grecian philosopher named Empedocles.Ā He is best known for his belief that all matter is composed of four elements: fire, air, water, and earth. If you've seen ATLA or have heard of Empedocles' theory, then you may know how those four elements interact with each other. They even, mix, with each other.

Just Pretend by Tori Sharp
This 298-page graphic memoir gives a thorough and beautiful portrayal of the perspective of a child with divorced parents finding her way through middle school with her exquisite ļæ¼imagination and writing skills.
Toriā€™s story meant a lot to me personally, and I can bet that many others could relate with it as well.
Spoiler: Sometimes itā€™s easier to just pretend.
