So I watched twilight...

To start it off, I thought some of the characters in it were pretty hot. Namely; Jacob Black {played by Taylor Lautner}; Alice Cullen {I don't know who's she's played by}.

However, the actual film was terrible in my opinion. From the weird blue lighting, to the very long awkward pauses, the film just wasn't good. Sorry if you like twilight, but I don't.

The Picture Of Dorian Gray [My thoughts]

Okay so I just finished watching the Picture Of Dorian Gray a few hours ago, and I quite liked it.

However, I did have to turn my volume down at certain scenes. I also really loved the sfx and cgi, even if I was a little scared.

I didn't really like how some of the relationships were rushed, but I guess that's the price you pay for watching the movie.

Anyways, I would recommend this but I wouldn't watch it with the family because of the above reasons.

Some things I notice on Wattpad, particularly with younger writers.

Okay so, I'm not old, I'm old enough to have social media legally but I'm still a minor. However, I do (usually, if it's not 3am like it is now) have a good enough sense of what's quality writing or not.

On Wattpad, I read a lot of fanfiction, more so BTS ones. Because the BTS army is such a big fandom, you will end up coming across really good stories and really terrible ones.

In these terrible ones, I have noticed some things that weigh them down.

-The main character being too "lucky"

Not sure if you know what I mean. What I'm getting at is when the main character is rich, all the other characters adore them and would die for them etc. I don't know if you've ever read a bully fanfic from any fandom, but if you have then you'll know what I'm talking about. The celebrity bullies the main character and then rushed to their aid.

-Bully focused plots.

Links back to the last one. But basically the writer will romanticise being bullied, only to have the bully fall in love with them. When done correctly, this can make a very interesting plot. But when it's not, it's weird and toxic.

-Always saying "they said, she said, he said" etc.

This really annoys me because the plot will be so good, but the language choices make it unbearable to read. Like, there's so many ways to say "said" and sometimes you doing even need to put anything after diologue.

-Over used profanity

Profanity in a story can add to it of used sparingly. I myself use it, but not all the time. At most, I may have done 3 swear words in a chapter. But it's when the swearing doesn't need to be there, it ruins it.

-Putting dialogue like a script

How people view this one can vary. I get if the actual book is a script, but when people are just too lazy to out the effort into writing it, its really irksome. Plus, using script like dialogue doesn't really add anything, it's just a pain to read.

I do agree, however; I don't mind it when they put the name of the pov at the top {EG: Derek's POV, or just Derek}

But when they don't, then things get super confusing. Also, when you write different povs, I find it's more compelling when they have a different way of thinking or of writing for each person - which is where having to many will be detrimental to the books quality. With my books, there are 3-4 main povs, with others scattered around.

{I have Jade and Melissa as the main ones, Ace and Andrea as the less main but more frequent povs and Graham, Lolita, Apollo and Leila as the infrequent ones. There's a reason, because of the way I'm portraying the main characters, the reader needs to see all sides of the story since it wouldn't be as interesting from one.}
