Out of the four colors hydrangeas come in these three definitely have to be my favorite 😍
Blue Hydrangeas: Apology, gratitude, understanding
In Japan, the blue Hydrangea symbolizes gratitude and understanding of someone else. It's a way to show someone that you are sorry.
White Hydrangeas: Vanity, arrogance, boasting, purity/grace
White Hydrangeas symbolize arrogance, vanity, boasting, purtiy, and grace. Men in European culture sent Hydrangeas to women who have rejected them. It is said that women who grow hydrangeas will never marry.
Pink Hydrangeas: Romance, true feelings, sincere emotions
Pink Hydrangeas are said to carry sincere emotions and the true meaning of love.
Purple Hydrangeas: Pride, royalty, understanding
Purple Hydrangeas represent a deep understanding. The color purple itself represents pride, royalty, and gratefulness. It is also gifted to partners after 4 years of marriage.

Saw these cuties in our school garden today while I was planting new garlic and tomato plants for spring ☺️
Had to move them somewhere else since I didn't want them to get washed away while another student waters the plants from not seeing them 🌱🌿

Sunlight that wakes you up from a great night of sleep.
A beautiful sunny day with a light breeze that feels good against your skin.
Piles of leather bound books scattered around.
Various potted plants of all kinds around every shelf and every corner of the house.
Morning dew on the grass that feels cool against your feet.
A nice cup of coffee or tea in the morning with your favorite book while you sit on your porch.
Bright yellow sunflowers in a vase by a window.
The sound of water hitting the earth while you water your plants.
The smell of Earth after rain.
Soft strumming of a ukelele while the house is quiet.
That is the home of a Hufflepuff.

Hello Spring!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haven't posted in a LONG time and I'm WAY too early for a spring post, but I can't wait for spring to hurry up and get here!
So here's a small spring aesthetic board to get everyone in the spring and maybe in the summer spirit for those who are just as ready as I am! 😊

🌱SCHOOL GARDEN🌱
Today was our first garden club meeting at my school!
Though some of the plants were beginning to die due to the California heat which made me pretty sad 😥
The good news is once we start working on the garden next Friday we'll be able to throw in ideas to help improve the garden! We also get to take some of the food we grow because we're putting in the hard work so some of our members will be able to have fresh produce!
I can't wait to start 😊

The legend of the Cempasuchil flower
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being of Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage but born in America, my grandparents would tell me stories from Mexico and Puerto Rico, (Note: Grandma is from Mexico while Grandpa is from Puerto Rico.) But one of my favorite stories would be about how we got Marigolds, please don't attack me if I got this all wrong because I am white-washed as shit 😫
STORY TIME.
The story is about two Aztec lovers named Xóchitl and Huitzilin. Xóchitl was seen as a delicate girl, but of course that didn't stop her from having kick ass adventures with her childhood friend Huitzilin.
They grew up together and naturally, fell in love. They enjoyed going on hikes to a mountain and offered flowers to the Sun God, Tonatiuh, as an offering. The Sun God enjoyed getting offerings from them and made sure to shine his rays brightly upon them.
When war broke out, the couple had to be seperated so Huitzilin could go to war, sadly leaving Xóchitl alone. Soon she received word of his death and decided to hike to the top of the mountain one last time. She prayed to the Sun God to reunite her with her love and moved by her prayers, shined a ray down on her.
She instantly transformed into the flower and was finally reunited with Huitzilin in the after-life. It's said that as long as the flower exists, the couple's love will always flourish.
Another fact about this flower is it's strong scent, so the reason we use this flower for the altars on Diá de los muertos is so the spirits can find their way and get to their favorite food and drinks. When they see the flower, it's supposed to show them that we still love them deeply even when they have left us.
I thought I should share because I'm really proud of my heritage and this is one of my favorite stories that I was told as a kid. 😊

🌿🍋Rejuvenating Witch Lemonade🍋🌿
Tumblr media
Hey guys! This here is a recipe that I’ve been using for some time now and I love it. It gives me energy and happiness for the rest of the day. I use this in the summer for those sunny days out and about. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
Ingredients
4 lemons
3 ½ cups of halved strawberries
7 cups of water
½ cup of honey
sugar to taste (mine is somewhere around ¾ cup)
a few leaves of basil (for the top)
Directions
Prepare the fruits. Wash the strawberries and cut them in halves, slice the lemons in haves and juice them.
Add 2 cups of water, the sugar, and the honey into a pot and mix on low medium heat for about two minutes or until everything is mixed and there are no chunks.
Add strawberries into a blender and mix until chunky, then add sugar water mixture and lemon juice and blend until a puree.
Add the blended mixture into the rest of the water and stir until everything is combined together.
Pour into a cup and place a few leaves of basil on top.
For this recipe there is no chant. Of course you are able to add one, but I find that just making this with happiness and comfort gives the lemonade a great deal of energy. I hope your summers are happy and filled with youthful joy.
I will be posting some things about commissions and some of the services I offer soon. So keep a look out for that! Love you all!
- Kenzie
