FRA CASTELLI, LEGGENDE E DISEGNI Una intervista che è stata una piacevole chiacchierata con @sarabonfili_travelkeller e il suo #travelblog. Ci sono dentro il Re Manfredi di Svevia, castelli in rovina e leggende che li abitano, il disegno di viaggio nella tradizione dei "carnets de voyages", il paesaggio abruzzese e quello altoatesino in un confronto sulla narrazione di viaggio, oggi.

UNA CASCATA DA MASTERCHEF (Eng Below) La spettacolare cascata de "lu cacchèma" fiotta tra le possenti rocce spingendo l'acqua del fiume Salinello giù lungo la valle, all'interno del #parconazionaledelgransassoemontidellalaga.

Composta di più salti di cui il maggiore di ben 35 metri, ha un getto fragoroso e spumoso che produce una invitante piscina naturale. Il suo nome in dialetto teramano significa "il pentolone", ed è legato proprio all'aspetto ampio e striato di questa vasca.

Sul suo fondo da qualche giorno è in lenta cottura anche una delle mie matite. Un ingrediente speciale, sfuggito a questo disegno sul mio taccuino di #viaggievillaggi.

The spectacular waterfall of "lu cacchèma" flows between the mighty rocks pushing the water of the Salinello river down the valley, inside the #gransassolagapark in the Abruzzo region.

Composed of several jumps of which the greater than 35 meters, has a thunderous and foamy jet that produces an inviting natural pool. Its name in the local dialect means "the pot", and is linked to his large and streaked appearance.

One of my pencils has also been slowly cooking on its bottom for a few days. A special ingredient, escaped this design on my "Viaggi e Villaggi" #travelsketchbook.

DO YOU WANT A MALAYSIAN COFFEE ? - AVETE MAI ASSAGGIATO UN CAFFE' MALESE ? (eng below)

È una bevanda molto diversa dal caffè espresso italiano o dal caffè "americano", termine che di solito indica un beverone di caffè e acqua servito in tazza. Diversa per la varietà del caffè usato, che non è l'Arabica e non è la Robusta (le due principali varietà in circolazione).

Il "Kopi", questo il suo nome, è tipico della Malesia e apprezzato in varie zone del sud - est asiatico. Ne esistono varie versioni elaborate dalle comunità cinese, indiana, malese. Alla base di tutte ci sono però i chicchi di caffè della "rara" varietà Liberica.

Questa illustrata è la ricetta prediletta dai malesi, il "Kopi Tarik" che tradotto significa "caffè tirato". Viene versato in una tazza allungando il getto del caffè e questo gesto produce una deliziosa schiumetta finale.

It's a very different drink from italian "espresso" or "american" coffèe, which usually indicates a cup of coffèe mixed in hot water.

Different for the variety of used coffèe beans, which is not the Arabica and is not the Robusta (the two main varieties in circulation).

The "Kopi", that's is name, is typical of Malaysia and appreciated in various areas of south-east Asia. There are several versions made by chinese, indian and malaysian communities. At the base, however, are the coffèe beans of the "rare" Liberica variety.

This illustrated is the favourite recipe of the Malaysians, the "Kopi Tarik" which translated means "coffèe pulled". It is poured into a cup lengthening the jet of coffèe and this gesture produces a delicious final skim.

Alle "Forre di Lavello", in Campania - Down in the "Forre di Lavello", Campania

Una gola stretta e lunga si apre nel mezzo della folta boscaglia, rivelando una distesa di massicce rocce levigate dall'acqua e dagli elementi atmosferici. Sono le "Forre di Lavello" nel parco regionale del Matese. Un luogo molto suggestivo a poca distanza dal borgo di Cusano Mutri. "Laggiù", nella frattura in mezzo al tappeto roccioso scorre un torrente dall'acqua color turchese che rende lo scenario ancora più sorprendente.

Un posto non solo scenografico, ma anche vissuto e costudito dalla gente del luogo. Da preservare. They are the "Forre di Lavello" in the regional park of Matese. A Very remarkable place in the area of the historical town of "Cusano Mutri".

"Over there", in the fracture in the middle of the rocky carpet flows a torrent of turquoise water that makes the scenery even more impressive.

IL PESCATORE DI RIMINI - RIMINI'S FISHERMAN

A fianco al turbinio di una città sempre più multietnica, a Rimini resiste ancora il mare dei pescatori, con le barche oscillanti e nuvole basse sul suo porto. LE RANE DEL BORNEO - THE BORNEO'S FROGS Alcune fasi di una illustrazione dove saltellano e si dondolano alcune delle rane tipiche dell'isola del Borneo.

La foresta pluviale del #Borneo ospita una gran varietà di specie diverse fra loro per taglia, aspetto, attitutidini, spesso sorprendenti e stravaganti.

IL MUSEO SOTTO LE STELLE DI "CASOLI PINTA" - THE OPEN AIR MUSEUM OF "CASOLI PINTA" Alcune suggestioni da "Casoli Pinta", il museo all'aperto nel borgo storico di Casoli di Atri, in Abruzzo.

Grandi quadri appesi qua e là da scovare e ammirare tra i vicoli, nelle piazzette, lungo il corso principale del paese. Una forma di Street Art prima della Street Art e dei murales a tutta parete, un'idea che ha preso forma negli anni '90 e che prosegue tuttora dando un nuovo aspetto e forse un nuovo spirito al luogo. Come altri esempi più noti in Italia, anche in questo caso un progetto che attraverso l'Arte ha rilanciato un piccolo borgo.

Large paintings hanging here and there to find and admire in the alleys, in the squares, along the main street of the village. A form of Street Art before Street Art and wall-to-wall murals, an idea that took shape in the 90s and that still continues giving a new look and perhaps a new spirit to the place. As others known examples in Italy, also in this case a project that through Art has relaunched a small village.

DO YOU KNOW THE BIRDS CALLED "COCKATOOS"? - CONOSCI GLI UCCELLI CHIAMATI "CACATUA"?

They belong to the parrots family, but they aren't parrots, they are "cockatoos". And you can distinguish them thanks for some morphologic tracts, among which in particular the high crest they open on their head. These birds are typical of the south-east Asia rainforest.

Here portrayed there is the "black palm cockatoo", probably the darkest and elegant one, for sure the biggest one with his size of quiet 60 cm. Also a "trophy" for collectionists 'cause of his aspect, he still survive free and wild in his natural habitat.

For my #traveldiary I portrayed it in 2 different versions: On the left with the acrylics paints. On the right in a digital tecnique.

So similar, so different. Isn't it? And You, which version do you keep? Which one do you let "fly away"? - - - - - -

Appartengono alla famiglia dei pappagalli, ma non sono pappagalli. Sono "Cacatua". E li puoi riconoscere da vari tratti caratteristici, tra cui in particolare la cresta alta sopra le loro teste. Sono uccelli tipici dell'area della foresta pluviale, nel sud-est asiatico. Qui ritratto c'è il "cacatua nero delle palme", probabilmente il più tenebroso ed elegante, senz'altro il più grande di taglia con i suoi quasi 60 cm di "altezza".

Preda anche di collezionisti per via del suo particolare aspetto, sopravvive ancora numeroso nel suo habitat naturale.

Per il mio #diariodiviaggio l'ho ritratto in due differenti versioni: A sinistra con la tecnica degli acrilici. A destra in digitale.

UNA GIUNGLA NELL'UFFICIO - A JUNGLE IN THE OFFICE (Eng below) Un murales con alcuni degli animali che abitano la giungla del sud-est asiatico, per arredare in modo #verde e #sostenibile uno spazio/ufficio e dare un tocco di leggerezza ed esoticità all'ambiente e alle ore di lavoro.

Dopo diverse settimane di "cantiere" una natura selvaggia sboccia, penzola, si arrampica sulle pareti dell'ufficio di "Celani carburanti", a pochi passi dall'aerea di rifornimento.

Un murales coordinato con operai, arredatori e l'architetto nonchè i ragazzi dell'impianto che hanno contribuito a far procedere il lavoro, anche a suon di caffè.

Eng A mural with some animals living in the rainforest of Southeast Asia, to furnish an office/ space in a #green and #sustainable way giving it a touch of lightness and exoticism.

After several weeks of work the wild nature blooms, dangles, climbs on the walls of the office of "Celani Carburanti", just near the refueling area.

A mural realized in coordination with the workers, the furnishmen and the architect and the fuel boys too, who gave personal contribution to move forward the work, also with coffee break.

LE STREGHE DI BENEVENTO - BENEVENTO WITCHES (Non leggere se hai paura delle Streghe - Don't read if you scare about Witches)

A Benevento le "Streghe non esistono". Nonostante tempo fa si dicesse vi si radunassero da tutta Italia. Nonostante la memoria della loro presenza sia ancora viva e tramadata. Memoria di riti e usanze emerse dalla storia contadina che continuano nell'ombra ad alimentare il mito della "Città delle Streghe".

Eppure a Benevento le Streghe non esistono, come insegna @januamuseodellestreghe che ne ha fatto passione e ricerca. Non importa che un celebre liquore dal color zafferano sia divenuto portabandiera della città anche grazie a questo suo nome, "Strega" (Stessa azienda ideatrice dell'altrettanto celebre @premiostrega).

Le Streghe non ci sono e non si possono nominare, perchè se distrattamente le chiami per nome...poi non te ne liberi più!

Shhhh!

Ma se trovate un albero dalle lunghe fronde, attorno a cui si dice si radunassero, forse noterete ancora qualche traccia delle loro danze notturne. Io ne ho trovato uno magnifico, ritratto qui nel mio taccuino per la serie "Viaggi e Villaggi". ( Illustrazioni di viaggio per raccontare luoghi meno noti in Italia e fuori confine).

In Benevento the "Witches do not exist". Although the memory of their presence is still alive and narrowed. Memory of rites and customs that continue in the shadows to feed the myth of the "City of Witches".

Yet in Benevento the Witches do not exist, as teaches "Janua - museo delle streghe" who has made of that passion and research.

It doesn’t matter that a famous saffron colored liqueur has become the city’s flag bearer thanks to its name, "Strega". Because if you distractedly call them by name, then you don’t get rid of them anymore!

But if you find a tree with long branches, around which they are said to gather, perhaps you will still notice some trace of their night dances. I found a magnificent one, portrayed here in my notebook for the series "Viaggi e Villaggi". (travel illustrations to tell less known places in Italy and abroad).

Il PROFILO DELLA "BELLA DORMIENTE" - THE "SLEEPING BEAUTY" PROFILE

Il Massiccio del Taburno - Camposauro "riposa" imponente e indisturbato nel territorio del Sannio segnando il confine tra la valle caudina e la valle beneventana.

Per la gente del posto la sua sagoma si allunga come una donna distesa dalla cima più alta del Monte Tiburno alle altre, una "bella dormiente" che cattura lo sguardo, a cui affidare i propri pensieri.

Qui "ritratta" con un intreccio di pastelli. Un disegno sul Taccuino della serie #viaggievillaggi per raccontare in immagini luoghi meno conosciuti in Italia e fuori confine.

The Taburno - Camposauro massif is sleeping quiet and imponent in the Sannio territory, in the Campania region, defining the imaginarian line between the "caudina" and "beneventana" valleys.

For the locals his profile can remind a sleeping woman, a beauty that magnetize the eyes and relax the mind.
