I know this post is long overdue but fck it.
Guys! I finally graduated medschool!
I’ve lost friends and gained new ones. I’ve learned so many things not only about medicine but also on how to handle my patients, how to approach people in the work place.
I never considered myself toxic during duties nor was I benign, I’m juuuust right. Well, maybe because I view every 36 hr duty as a another opportunity to learn rather than just another dragging shift.
If there’s one advice I can give to the incoming clinical clerks, it’s this: Be Bold! Don’t be afraid of grabbing every opportunity to hone your skills! If you’re clueless on the procedure then there is no harm in asking! Be it your PGI, resident, consultant or our lovely friend, Google! But of course, be sure to verify your sources when checking stuff from our bff XD As what Dr. Lucman taught us, it’s our luxury to be stupid. So ask away!
And now, I’m currently having my internship at Northern Mindanao Medical Center. So far, so good. :)

Spent the afternoon at Dra Leah Justiniano’s! We toured her garden, ate delicious food, played games and tried our best not to talk too much about med related stuff... emphasis on tried. Thank you Doc! It was a lovely break from all the hullabaloo we just went through!! :)

Prologue: This won’t be a formal post, and I don’t friggin’ care! What you’re about to witness is me whining about how much I gonna miss my OB-Gyne rotation!!
And so this ends our OB-Gyne rotation. It was fun while it lasted!
I’m gonna miss delivering babies, hearing their cries (and their mother’s!), stitching up episiotomies and perineal lacerations.
I’m gonna miss the nurses who bully me coz it takes too long for me to stitch something up, teasing me that I’m already performing a c-section + BTL.
I’m gonna miss shouting ‘NICUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!’ while clamping, milking and then cutting the cord.
I’m gonna miss the intelligent and quick thinking consultants and residents who never fail to teach us something valuable be it in medical or real-life scenarios.
There’s just something about OB-Gyne that feels so fulfilling!!
I’ll tell you one thing I won’t miss: the carpal tunnel syndrome inducing hx, pe, dr tech, admitting orders, post partum orders, the dinalian progress notes, dispo slips and discharge summaries!
Good bye OB-Gyne dept! I’m definitely considering you as a career choice! (But di sa ta magsturya ug patapos. Hehe)

S/P Placenta previous Just catching a little shut-eye before our post 24-hour OB-Gyne duty endorsement. My body’s accustomed to sleeping in the dark which explains the handkerchief covering my glasses. Credits to my very bungisngis group mates!

Before anything else, YES dami kong time magpakablagir because prev ko! Bleh! Hahaha! I originally had an idea that I’ll make separate blog posts for each department for my junior clerkship rotation, but nah, it’s better this way.
I didn’t expect my first rotation to be in the OB-Gyne Department. What’s even more surprising is that me and my group had the privilege of being scheduled as the first to be assigned in 24-hour posts. That means emergency room duties for Tahani, ward and operating room duties for Franz, and delivery room duties for me. It was both nerve-racking and exciting!! I really enjoyed repairing perineal tears and episiotomies. I hope I can keep this up ‘til the end of clerkship. 😂
One day down, hundreds more to go!!

May 19-20, 2018
My last and only escape for the past three years of studying medicine. The trip to Gloria’s Fantasy Land was definitely my favorite. I just love carnival rides! We weren’t able to take lots of pictures since we were so in on the moment. The next morning we played beach volley ball (at least I think we were!), enjoyed the pool, slid down the slides, took loads of pictures and selfies. In the afternoon we reviewed our History 5 course by taking a tour at Rizal Shrine, (but really, we just looked at some displays at the museum and took more pictures. Lol who doesn’t?)
I’m gonna miss this. There wasn’t one dull moment! Everyone was so fun and friendly!
I really hope I can travel again soon... Falls hopping around Iligan, maybe? Anyone up for it?

Ten Commandments sa Jeepney
Bitaw oy, I’ve been a commuter all my life and  daghan-daghan na ko na-obserba when it comes to riding jeepneys. Of course, these are just my opinions. 😂
1. Always say “Please” when handing out your fare. Unsa mana? Tutukan ra nako nang pliti nimo? Pila ra man pagingun ug “Mamalihug ko ug pliti.” Tuon sad ta ug saktong pamatasan daris jeep, ha? And it’s no trouble saying “Salamat” when your sukli is handed out, either.
2. Never hand your fare to the person NEXT to you or in FRONT of you. Hand your fare sa person na maabtan saimong kamot. I don’t know ha. Common sense raman unta ni siya.
3. If you’re behind the driver, wala kay choice, iyaha na kang assistant! Humans are very social creatures and all of us, in one way or another contribute for the benefit of our society… whether we like it or not. Haha, charot!
4. If an elderly is boarding, isbug sad ta kay wa kabalo sa kondisyon sa iyang tuhod. Bahala’g doña kaayu ug porma si Nanay with all the make-up and shoulder paddings, isbug lang japon ta ha, kay ang artritis!
Ay ra sad siya tutuki uy, a little bira goes a long way.
6. Nag-ulan?
9. No Smoking My gosh guys, it’s 2018.
10. Throw your trash in the designated bin!!!! My goodness! And if walay basurahan si manong driver, di sad nato i-labay sa dalan no? What’s the purpose of your education if you still throw your trash on the streets?! Charot!!
Anything I’ve missed? Feel free to respond or send me an ask. :D

Roommates (1995)
Family, old people and medicine all rolled into one! This movie talks about the grandfather-grandson duo of Rocky and Michael Holzcek.
I never expected a waterfall to come out of these eyes, yet here I am ugly crying as the movie ends, just like the time when I watched Coco! Lol. It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s on my recommended list of movies to watch!
Dupa ranei pusci! 😉

Mind Fcked #1
“EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.”
Does this really mean what people think it means? Some watchamacallit to help them cope with during trying times? Sure, it can help, but let’s not disregard the other implication you can get from this overused motto.
Well, this idea came up to me when I was at a pedestrian crossing. As I waited for the light to turn green, I noticed a big truck about to pass by along with the rest of the traffic. I had the most insane idea of jumping in front of the humongous vehicle without warning... Oh, the spattered blood and brain matter! Plus a bunch of fractured bones and would-be victims of PTSD!!
So anyway, after relishing on that morbidly horrific scene, I was also curious as to what the truck driver would have thought was my reason for doing that foolish array of failed natural selection. Would he have thought that I just had enough of this cruel world and committed suicide? Maybe. Would it be that I really didn’t commit suicide because someone pushed me just to mess with everyone (literally and figuratively!)? Probably. Would he have thought that I was euphoric with 19 snorts of cocaine? Uh, probably? That maybe I was like, “meh, fuck it!” and just decided to jump without hesitation? Yeah, maybe.
If you look at it in a concrete and crude aspect, yes everything does happen for a reason, but that reason doesn't necessarily have to be some sparkly life-changing life lesson covered with cute ribbons that you'll only pay attention to in a week or two.
And if you’re one of the skeptics who thinks that everything is just pure coincidence, think of this scenario: I got hit by a truck... Why? Because I was there at the same time where a truck just so happens to be. Why was I there in the first place? Because I needed to disprove the notion that everything does NOT happen for a reason which resulted in me jumping in front of a moving truck because I needed to disprove the notion that everything does NOT happen for a reason which resulted in me jumping in front of a moving truck because  I needed to disprove the notion that everything does NOT happen for a reason which resulted in me jumping in front of a moving truck because  I needed to disprove the notion that everything does NOT happen for a reason which resulted in me jumping in front of a moving truck because...
