I’m glad! Allow me to use this post to talk about some headcanons I have

So Phoenix has ADHD. Feenie was unmedicated until after the whole thing with Dahlia. Once he turned his attention to studying law and doing law school, he got a prescription to help him focus his energy and mind.

AA1-3 Phoenix took the medication.

He stopped taking them during the 7 year gap because he didn’t really need them and also he needed to use that money to take care of his newly adopted daughter (which is one of the factors of his weight gain bc he’s no longer taking medication that has an appetite suppressant side effect). Also, he would work out as well, so the extra weight is both fat and muscle. Working out was one of the things that helped him get over his alcoholism that he fell into after his disbarment.

After AA4, he started taking medication again (as well as biking around a lot like he used to, so he lost some weight but bc he’s already 34/35, his metabolism slowed so he kept part of it). He kept working out because it was already a part of his routine now and he found it to be a great stress reliever. Also, he got a nicely tailored suit (paid for by Miles 💖), which works well with the dad bod he has now :)

Based on the original sprites, he’s got broad shoulders, and based on the fact that he bikes a lot, he’s got strong legs :3

ok so clarifying on my larry adhd headcanon because i know i'm right here to me larry and phoenix are BOTH undiagnosed adhd (maybe phoenix gets diagnosed later into his life or before the events of the games but idk) but phoenix is the like "what's wrong with me" adhd where he struggles with things and his response is that he HAS to do them because if he can't it's an issue especially when it's so effortless for everyone else and he's constantly worried that something must be wrong with him to struggle so much and larry is the "why is he like that" adhd where he struggles with things and his response is "if it sucks hit da bricks" and puts his effort instead into coming off like it doesn't bother him because he just Doesn't Care about responsibilities ever and it totally never worries him that he struggles with things other people seem to do effortlessly haha why would you think that. no he doesn't worry about that kind of thing. he doesn't even care. he chose to be the irresponsible class clown and he totally didn't make that choice so that his failures felt like something within his control that he could just as easily accomplish "if i felt like it" what makes you think that

Okay actually I need to talk abt how smart phoenix is. Like yes he didn’t flip over a piece of paper SOMEHOW but also??? This is only his second case, his mentor’s dead, he’s defending her teenage sister, he’s seeing miles again after 15 years and they’re going up against each other in court. I probably would’ve glossed over that too!!! Is it stupid?? Yeah but to an extent it’s understandable

Yeah he kinda stumbles his way into the correct answer but not without noticing things that others had either overlooked or simply written off. And yeah!!! He does stupid things!!! But we’re shown time and time again how his mind works and this is especially prevalent in aa4 where he REBUILDS THE FUCKING JURY SYSTEM WITH HIS OWN TWO HANDS

This man MAKES the MASON system from the ground up. Yes he obviously had help but??? He still did the majority of it on his own I think. He had to bring something before the board to get it approved so he at least STARTED it on his own even tho he knows fuck all abt technology. He plays poker for a living. He knows how to cheat and lie his way out of a situation. As fucked as it is, he brings Trucy to these big games for an advantage bcuz he knows how to use what he has at his disposal. Not to mention a 7 year long game with kristoph gavin.

I’m trying to only go by what we’re shown / told bcuz once I throw headcanons into it, the legitimacy gets messy and muddled. I’m also at work so it’s very possible that I missed a lot of shit but he’s allowed to be a Stupid Little Guy while also being objectively intelligent!! He can eat glass AND be one of the greatest legal minds in the modern era. These can and SHOULD co-exist
