ppl who don’t like azula bc “she’s mean >:(“ baffle me so much. my love for mean women developed at a very early age. as a child, azula would come onscreen, say something cunty, and i’d just black out. that imperious shakespeare villain of an eighth grade bully made me go “AWOOOGA” hearts in my eyes, steam coming outta my ears, drooling a lil, like some kind of misogynist wolf in an MGM cartoon. and don’t even get me started on whenever she fought katara, the OTHER bitch of my dreams!!! it was only a few years later that i was like “oh she’s actually quite tragic…. oh she’s just a scared kid who only wants love….” but there is truly no understating how crucial azula spewing her divine right of kings imperialist bullshit was to my developing sexuality as a child. oh, you don’t appreciate mean women? okay, that’s fine, it just means more for us, the connoisseurs of the world.

WIP Wednesday: New AU, Sebagni Sickfic
Tumblr media
This excerpt is from a new self-indulgent AU I’m working on. It’s set in modern Houston, like many of my fics, with a human Sebastian with a rare chronic illness, a heap of medical (and other) trauma he hasn’t processed, and his new live-in nurse, Agni.
Over the course of the story, Agni gets Seb to heal and accept his intentions as genuine, and the two of them become closer.
Here’s an extra-long snippet to hopefully get you as excited for this as I am, lol.
[No real TW here, but it does deal with medical issues, chronic illness, with minor references to PTSD/panic attacks.]
“This is Agni,” Tanaka said as they approached. “Agni, this is Sebastian.”
Agni smiled. In another life, Sebastian may have appreciated how incredibly handsome he was. He’d always been attracted to tall men, but that was behind him now. No one could look at him like this: stuck in bed, barely able to shift himself, a shell of who he once was, and see him as anything but an object of pity at best, or someone who should be euthanized at worst.
A stab of physical pain as a muscle spasmed in his side, blending with the emotional anguish these thoughts brought forth, the brief image of him that almost made Sebastian choke on a breath. He grunted, then did his best to shove it all out of mind. No way he could let his guard down around a new nurse. No matter how bad he was feeling.
“They outsourcing now?” Sebastian spat bitterly. He watched for Agni’s reaction. He didn’t even twitch, but continued to smile. They always seemed so nice and helpful and friendly when Tanaka was around. But as soon as he and Seb were alone—
“It is a sincere pleasure to meet you,” Agni said formally, without a hint of an accent Sebastian could detect. He felt a tiny sting of guilt for what he’d said, but he dismissed the thought before it could blossom. “Do you prefer I call you Mr. Michaelis, Sebastian, or something else?”
Eyes narrowed with suspicion, he replied, “Sebastian is fine.”
Agni nodded. He took a hesitant step closer. It hadn’t escaped Sebastian’s notice that Tanaka had unconsciously placed himself between them. “Can I ask how your pain is right now?” Agni took a tiny notebook from the pocket of his bag, along with a pen, and began to jot some things down.
Tanaka nodded as if to urge Seb to be honest. But what would that solve? It’s not like Agni could really do anything about his pain. Sebastian was used to it. He hadn’t had a single pain-free day in more than ten years. Unless Agni had a magic wand hidden in his bag, the best he could do would be meaningless platitudes. Like “the new anti-inflammatory medicine will start working and relieve your pain soon,” or some shit like that.
“Why the fuck do you care?” Sebastian spat, not in the mood to make nice.
A small frown crossed Agni’s stunning features before he shifted into what was presumably his sympathetic face. “I would like to make you as comfortable as I can. I’m not here only to attend to simple medical needs like giving you medication. I want to improve your quality of life as much as I can.”
Sebastian scowled. It didn’t help that breathing was harder, the pain magnifying, perhaps exacerbated by stress. If he’d had the strength, he’d have hurled something at him and yelled for Agni to just fucking leave him be.
Agni didn’t need to be a mind reader to gauge Sebastian’s mood, but he was either a very good actor or more patient than most, because he didn’t crack yet. “It seems like you’re uncomfortable right now. Could I examine you quickly?”
No. But behind Agni, Tanaka whispered in Japanese, “Behave. I have a good feeling about this one.”
Subduing a growl, Sebastian nodded. Braced himself for rough handling that would aggravate his pain.
Agni set his bag on the side table and removed some supplies, including antibacterial gel he used to clean his hands before pulling on a pair of blue gloves. His forearms were muscular without being excessive, and Sebastian found himself watching as the man worked, apparently not the type to make meaningless chitchat. That was good, at least.
He hated the ones who felt like they had to constantly fill the silence with their babbling, talking to him like he was a toddler and not a grown man in his 30s.
“Let me slip this on your finger,” he said, not reaching and forcefully grabbing Sebastian’s arms like most nurses would have, but instead waiting for him to offer an index finger for the little oxygen meter he clipped onto the tip. “And now I want to listen to your heart and lungs, if that’s all right?”
Sebastian sighed, winced when it pulled and spiked his pain, but quickly pushed his face into neutral. “Fine.”
Tanaka walked around to the other side of the bed, adjusting the curtains so the shifting sun wouldn’t be in Sebastian’s eyes.
Agni was delicate. He warmed the head of the stethoscope with his hands before slipping it under Sebastian’s T-shirt and listening intently in various spots before asking him to breathe deeply and slowly. He even managed to slide the stethoscope between Sebastian and the bed to listen to his back without him yanking him up and away from the mattress like a sack of potatoes. If Sebastian didn’t know better, Tanaka had told him exactly where his pain was bad today, and he was actually taking that into consideration. Had to be for show.
“How are you feeling right now?” Agni asked as he removed the stethoscope and replaced it in his bag.
“Well, I was going to the opera tonight, but I’m a bit tired, so I may have to cancel my plans.” Sebastian glared at the neglected electric wheelchair in the corner of the room. The one he’d been so excited for when he’d first received it, believing he would have newfound freedom with it, that he’d be less encumbered by his disability and illness. That he would have accepted him—
A wave of nausea overwhelmed him and he had to cup his hand over his mouth.
Agni worked quickly, grabbing a kidney-shaped emesis basin from the table and quickly placing it beneath his chin, deftly sliding a hand behind his back to support him without causing him pain.
But Sebastian was able to swallow it down and shove Agni away as well as his limited strength allowed.
But Agni didn’t seem to mind. He nodded, checked the monitor, and said instead, “Your oxygen levels are a little lower than I would like. Are you having any trouble breathing?”
Sebastian glared, but the jerking of his stomach earlier had caused his entire rib cage to feel like it was aflame, and it was easier not to breathe until the burn got so bad he had to inhale. Despite doing all he could to stay focused and in control, he could feel panic setting in. No. Not now. Not with this new nurse he didn’t know from Adam.
Gasping and gripping the sheets, Sebastian felt darkness swirling in on the edges. He struggled against it, fighting himself, fighting his body, fighting traumatic memories that tried to yank him further away from control.
A warm hand on his head. A mask placed in his face. A soothing, deep voice urging him to breathe, to relax, that he’d be OK. Someone held his hand.
With the machine’s assistance, despite the pain, his lungs filled and emptied due to the shifting pressure, and the dizzy, swimming sensation faded to clarity. He hated relying on this thing. The bipap machine. But it helped when his muscles were especially weak, or in moments like this. Let him rest. Without fear he’d stop breathing.
Agni pulled something else from his bag. A small tube. “Have you ever used this ointment before? It’s a topical anti-inflammatory, and I’ve had many of my patients swear by it. I could put some where your pain is worst, if you’d like.”
Go fuck yourself, Sebastian wanted to say, but he was too drained.
Tanaka squeezed his hand as if to encourage him to accept Agni’s help.
“It absorbs quickly, so you don’t need to use too much. I’ll be as gentle as I can.”
Sebastian offered a small nod and pointed lazily to his torso and back. His heart was still racing, and he would have preferred Tanaka do this, but that would take more energy to explain than he had right now.
Over the next few minutes, Agni carefully applied the medicated cream to Sebastian’s sides and back, Tanaka letting Seb lean against him to ease the strain as the nurse coated his back with it. Sebastian was almost stoic through it all, and yet somehow Agni seemed to have a sixth sense for where his pain was worst, concentrating his ministrations there while keeping his touch feather-light.
Then, with Tanaka’s help, he shifted Sebastian onto his side, layering pillows to support his most painful areas. Agni worked slowly so as to minimize spiking his pain. No nurse had treated him so gently or with so much consideration. If he hadn’t had dozens of bad examples, he might have been tempted to believe Agni actually did care.
“This’ll take some strain off your ribs,” Agni said in a low, rich voice.
Now that the adrenaline crash was hitting him, and the cream was dulling the pain, exhaustion began to pull Sebastian so strongly he struggled to keep his eyes open.
“Get some rest. I’ll check on you later.” Agni slipped the call button into Sebastian’s hand, petting it momentarily as if to give him reassurance, though it felt patrionizing. Still, it was considerate enough. Meant if he woke up in agony he wouldn’t have to move to call for help.
Tanaka stroked Sebastian’s arm soothingly before pulling the blankets up around him. “The heated blanket will help,” he whispered. “Sleep for a while.”
Sebastian gave up fighting and let his lids slide closed.
I hope you enjoyed this! If you do, let me know..!
I’m really hoping I’ll be able to post the first chapter of this this month.

Hell yeah! Welcome back!!!💓💓💓 So can you do a Agni x reader where Agni is going to visit his sweetheart at work but he sees that ahe has to deal some nasty customers?
... may or may not have poured some personal experience into this one... XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The days when AGNI visits you at work aren’t frequent, given that he has his own work to attend to, but… sometimes, the prince makes up an excuse for him to come to the store. As far as Agni himself thinks, he wants to believe the fact that it doesn’t happen often makes it more precious.
Besides, he likes surprising you. Whenever he comes to the store without telling you beforehand that he’ll be in, your face lights up. That’s something he loves to see; it makes his own heart brighten. (Not that his days are mostly bad, of course. He just… likes seeing you happy.)
Sadly enough, when he manages to sneak into line behind a few other people, it becomes readily apparent that you’re not happy right at the moment. Even though he does his best not to eavesdrop, he can’t exactly help it when other people are so vocal.
The first customer who had a problem with your attempts to be friendly? Maybe they were just having a bad day and weren’t going to stand for anyone being happy when they weren’t. As sad as it is, some people are like that. He knows you understand.
The second one who complains that an item ‘used to be cheaper last week’? You don’t set those prices, but you know it’s frustrating to be on a budget and have something suddenly cost more. Agni can see your facade starting to crack when you have to call your manager to take the item off.
(Actually, he’s pretty sure that your manager types in their code and manually adjusts the price to the lower one that the item was last week. That’s probably policy, unfortunately, especially in the first couple of weeks after prices go up. He’s also sure it gives the customer ammunition to claim that you were ‘ringing things up wrong’ or don’t know how to do your job.)
The third one is when he sees you completely lose all composure. The third person, who basically berates you for taking so long because it’s annoying to wait in the queue. Was there anything else you could have done, realistically? No, of course not. It took longer due to having to wait for the manager to come fix something; it wasn’t your fault. This person acts like you’ve personally spit on their ancestors’ graves because they had to wait an extra moment, when there was literally nothing else you could have done to prevent the wait.
The one saving grace is that after that last customer, there’s him.
Seeing the tears in your eyes as he approaches your till breaks his heart. You’ve done nothing to deserve this, and he thinks it’s maybe because he’s so kind that he can’t understand people acting so rude. Even when his cashier isn’t the love of his life, he can’t imagine doing any of the things he just saw people doing to you.
“Just this, priya,” he murmurs as he sets the one single item Soma asked him to get on the counter. “And don’t cry over people who wouldn’t cry over you, okay?”
He doesn’t even think the surprise of seeing him can fully register in your mind. You look so tired and beaten down and done with people in general, you’re just relieved to see a friendly face. “Agni…”
He shakes his head, and quickly taps his card for payment after you scan his purchase. You don’t have to say anything, you don’t have to make small talk or say all the usual things you’re supposed to say to customers, you can take a break at least while you’re talking to him. “Deep breaths, my love. I saw everything. Karma will knock on those people’s doors and force them to answer for their bad attitudes. What do I always tell you?”
“‘What goes around comes around.’” You move automatically toward the small swing-door by your till, and thankfully, there are no other customers behind him. That means he gets to hold you for a moment, being as much of a comfort as he’s able to be in the moment.
He thanks Kali that you relax in his arms, if only for a minute. “Those people will owe a karmic debt while your slate is clean. They’ll have to pay for it sooner or later, and that is between them and the universe.” He presses a kiss to the top of your head. “I’ll make sure good karma comes your way when you get home, priya. Two more hours, and you’ll be with me.”
You nod, and pull away when you see another customer ambling up to the till. “… Thanks for coming to see me, sweetheart. I’ll be counting the minutes.”
“Not too closely or you’ll drive yourself mad,” he chuckles. “I’ll see you soon, jaan. I love you.”
The smile you give him looks a little stronger as you wipe your tears away. “Love you, too. See you soon.”
If nothing else, he knows what form your good karma will take; he’ll have your favorite dinner and movie waiting for you when you get home.
It doesn’t erase what other people have done, or make it okay, but if he has anything to say about it, this day will be a far-off memory before you know it.

ANYWAYS I AM WRITING A FIC AND.WHILE I MAY BE VERY HYPED ABOUT WRITING A STORY I MAY ALSO NEED SOME EXTERNAL MOTIVATION IN THE FORM OF DOPAMINE FROM LITTLE KUDOS OR COMMENTS OR VIEWS IN GENERAL.
*ahem*
Do you want to see a pathetic man be haunted by a terrible mistake then double-reach-a’rounding to try and justify his actions only to fail miserably and hurting everyone around him? Then boy do I have some good news, because that’s what this is about!
It’s been 92736261 years since I’ve posted any writing on Ao3 and I’m anxious about how this will be received if at all 😔
Go read it if it piques your interest <3 Mind the not-so categorizing tags etc you know Ao3 etiquette. Sharing is caring so uh.spread the word?
https://archiveofourown.org/works/45541501/chapters/114592327
Both the fic and the art are in the WIP zone so they get posted on main instead of the art blog =v= once both are done I’ll make one final post on the art blog

What if Khun Aguero Agnis is a star and Baam is the moon. Khun loves the moon and his gentle, beautiful light, for he lets Khun shine too, and gaze at the world in wonder, unlike the sun, who rules the day and blinds Khun and all the other stars.
But the sky extends boundlessly and there are many, many, so many stars. How can Khun's solitary, pale blue glitter noticed from the mass of infinite others?
Khun pines every night as he gazes the glowing moon in all his soft glory.
Every winter night, he gets closer to the moon. The chill in the sky makes him shiver, but he bears it all so he could inch closer to his secret love.
Every summer night, as the west wind blows the smell of earth's flowers to the skies, Khun steps back from the moon, from Baam with slow, unwilling steps.
The seasons trickle by and the years pass, decades pass, centuries and millenniums pass.
Khun, a lone star in the corner of the sky, a child of the cosmos, never ages. But his heart aches. He thinks, he feels, it will crack into pieces soon from the pain of many centuries.
One day in winter, when Khun is at the closest he could stay near the moon, the moon looks back at him.
“Hello,” He greets, with the loveliest smile Khun had seen in his life. He wants to cry a little. It was enough that he could see the moon from a distance. But seeing him so close, his long hair dark and his the surprising gold in his eyes, every part of Khun tingles with longing.
"Hello." He replies back, all thoughts vanished to nothingness. He feels a prickle in his chest.
"I'm Baam. Who are you, blue star?"

I like to picture once Sebastian is found in a really bad state, his wings damaged. Mey- rin and Finny would probably think he's an angel, Agni too if he was there. Soma wouldn't be convienced, he's sensed darkness in Sebastian. Bard the pragmatic one would be like do we call a vet or doctor. I don't know anything about treating wings. Really, I just want Sebastian being nursed back to health by Bard and/ or Agni. Or learning to live with damaged wings permanently.
Okay anon you don't understand how much I like the trope of gorgeous demon thought to be an angel by humans. It is just. So good

Heeellloooo darling! Welcome back!
Can you do modern Agni x reader, where the reader is having a massive anxiety attack because of home and work stress and Agni is helping them through it? Sorry I'm projecting...🙃
aaaaaaa I hope you're doing better now sweetie!!! <3
wishing you all the best! I hope this is a comfort for you =)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AGNI finds you curled up on the sofa when he comes home.
You’re pressed into the corner, appearing to have basically compressed yourself into a ball ball. You have both arms around yourself, knees to your chest, and he can hear that you’re not breathing quite normally. It doesn’t sound like you’re in danger of your breathing stopping, though, so he thinks it must be something else.
He sits down quickly, taking care not to make any big movements. “Jaan? Are you alright?”
When you shake your head, it’s a jerky motion, almost robotic. Sort of like you’re forcing yourself to do something to answer him. “N… no… I feel… I don’t feel right.”
“No?” God, he hates seeing you like this. Then again, surely no one likes seeing anybody they love suffering. Sometimes there isn’t much he can do, but he doesn’t have enough information yet to know whether or not he can do anything this time. “What doesn’t feel right, my love? Can you talk to me?”
There’s an audible swallow from you. “I… I don’t know. My heart’s racing… I-I’m… my breathing is… I feel shaky. It just hit me… everything… everything feels like so much… I-I can’t… I feel like I’m drowning in everything.”
Ah. He has an idea of what’s going on. Of course, that doesn’t mean he thinks he can help. He can certainly try, however. “Mh… everything? Work?”
You nod. “Work, and… and everything else going on. Not ― like, not you or ― I just…” You shake your head, hugging yourself tighter. “Everything else. It just… I feel like I can’t calm down, like I just… I can’t…”
Sensing your frustration to express your feelings, Agni pushes himself a bit closer to you on the sofa. “Is it alright if I touch you, jaan? Can I hold you, or do you think that will make you feel worse?”
“No,” you murmur, “you could never make things worse. I… I don’t know, try it and I’ll see?”
He scoots himself over, and gently wraps his arms around you. Even if he didn’t know you by now, to you it seems like he could never be anything but careful with anyone. Almost immediately, you melt into him, doing your absolute best to relax. It’s not easy. Everything still feels like an inescapable mountain trying to crush you.
The pressure of Agni’s arms around you doesn’t feel like pressure. It doesn’t feel like an added stress; it feels like he’s trying to take some of the weight off you. As much as you both know he can’t fix everything, you feel comforted that you don’t have to go through this alone.
“I’ve got you, jaan.” He keeps his voice soft, warm around you. “You can worry about things if you want, but the second that worry starts to hurt you, I want you to try to give some of that worry to me. You know I’m always here to make things easier for you if there’s any way I can, right?”
You nod, mostly because you can’t find your words. Anything you want to say is fluttering around in your stomach, barely a thought aside from the simple, I’m grateful for him, repeating on an endless loop. Tears are starting to form in your eyes now, but you think you’ll feel better after you’ve cried in his arms for a while.
“Good. All you need to do is tell me what you need, or talk to me about your feelings. If there’s anything I can do, I’ll do it. If not, I’ll just listen.” Agni rests his chin atop your head, giving you a reassuring squeeze. “For now, you’re overwhelmed. Breathe with me, sweetheart. Follow how I’m breathing. It might not help all your problems, and it might be hard at first, but it will help you in this moment once you do it a few times. Okay?”
You nod again. True to his word, it does take a couple of tries to mirror the pattern of his breathing ― finally, you manage to do it. And he’s right, that it doesn’t fix anything that you’re anxious about. Money problems, trouble at work, your friends and family and whatever else is going on.
Every breath seems to tell your mind to loosen your grip, though. Let go just a little. The more you match this pattern, the more your brain’s fingers slip off the thoughts.
Agni gives a small rub to your shoulder. “That’s it, jaan. You’ve got it. I want you to try to remember something, okay? When you feel overwhelmed by things like you are now. You can’t control the fact that you feel things, can you? But you do have some control. Those feelings exist inside of you. They are your feelings. You get to have the final say on how you respond to your feelings. You own them, they don’t own you.”
His hands move down, to gingerly set atop yours. “I’ll always be here for you. But if you feel things that overwhelm you when we’re apart, I want you to remember your own power. Think of your feelings as a monster that is small enough to hold in your hands. You hold that tiny monster, and you look at it, and you say, ‘You have no power over me. I have power over you, and I choose to use it.’ You tell that tiny monster, ‘You don’t get to control me.’”
In between all this, you keep breathing, and the thought of your feelings being a palm-sized monster makes you laugh a little. As bizarre as it is, maybe it will work next time. For now, this is enough.
All your problems and all your stress still exist. There’s no debating that.
Suddenly, though, Agni has reminded you how strong you really are. Even if you’re incredibly overwhelmed right now, you aren’t powerless.
You sink in against him, and you’ve started to cry, and that’s fine. It’s what you need in this moment.
“There, jaan, there. Try to rest.” He presses a kiss to your forehead. “Next time, you’ll be more prepared to fight the tiny monster on your own. But right now, let me chase it off. You’re going to be okay, my love.”
And, somehow, you think you will be.
