SYNOPSIS - When you and Mark made a bet on who could create the better Halloween costume, neither of you expected to take it so seriously.

A/N - I watched the Ghost Rider movies again recently and yeah... Mark Lee in all leather, anyone?

"Damn!! I know you said you were going all out, but I didn't think you meant cosmic horrors."

You smile to yourself at Mark's praises, adding on the finishing touches to your makeup and special effects.

"Listen, never underestimate a bad bitch with a game plan, okay." You say, laser focused on what you were doing before turning to your best friend. You stop short, eyebrows raising at his choice of costume.

When you and Mark made a bet on who could create the best Halloween costume, part of you hadn't expected him to take it so seriously either. But seeing him in the reflection of the bathroom mirror doused all your thoughts.

If someone were to look between you two, it's clear that your costume turned into a full-on art project. You had gone out and bought the different materials needed — be it fabrics for the outfit, special effects, wiring for the headpiece and caging around your torso — and spent upwards of two months to make everything as you imagined it in your head. The blueprints still sit in your room under a heap of fabric cuttings, and now you stand in your bathroom donning the finished product. You are a true Eldritch Horror.

That's not to say Mark didn't put a good amount of effort into his costume. You give him a once over, nodding to yourself.

"You really put your whole Markussy into that, huh."

You hear him snort behind the skeletal mask, the sound making your lips pull back in an impressed smirk.

"I told you I was serious this year," He says, voice slightly muffled as he holds his arms out in a show of confidence. "This is gonna get me so many points tonight!"

Indeed, Mark Lee was feeling himself in his chosen DIY costume. How couldn't he when he was head to toe in all-black leather? Ghost Rider wasn't the top thought when someone says Marvel — less so when it came to movie adaptations — but you and Mark watched the movies often. Even so, you hadn't thought of that as a potential costume. But damn, did he pull it off.

"Damn, where'd you get the mask from? It's so detailed..." You bring a hand up to feel the skull, a rough texture under your fingertips. The jaw moves as he speaks,

"An old friend of mine. Bro's got a lot of horror costumes and stuff from conventions." It wasn't cheap, in fact it was so well detailed that you couldn't see it being from a costume store or online shop. That was hand-crafted with love over a few weeks, at the very least.

Then there was the leather jacket with the black tee underneath. The perfect pairing. The perfect fit. You took note of the familiar spikes embellishing the shoulders of the jacket, thrifted from one of your old belts. So that's what he wanted it for... A nice attention to detail, you admit. The chain wraps around his shoulder and over his chest, gloved hands adjusting the links as you glance down. And then the pants...

"Those aren't actual biker pants are they?"

"They are, but I bought the cooler looking ones."

You chuckle, raising a brow.

"Ah, the modern Johnny Blaze..." You trail off, taking a closer look. "And your high-top sneaks really bring the whole thing together!"

"Okay, that sounded condescending." He mutters, and you laugh, poking him in the shoulder.

"What!? You look good, is all I'm saying."

"Thank you!"

"And I apologize in advance for all the candy I'm bringing home tonight. I spent too much time and effort on this costume to not win!" You turn back to the mirror, giving yourself one last look before you add the fully furnished headpiece.

The base is just wires weaved together, but you had taken the time to mask over the skeleton to build up a mass of branching horns and a voided curtain of dead eyes within galaxies. It took hours upon hours of adding layers to an everchanging mountainous piece, you almost felt as if you were back in school crafting with papier-mâché. This was just more entertaining.

"Shit, what the fuck are you even supposed to be?"

You smirk, adjusting the thing to your skull until it's comfortable enough.

"An ancient entity incomprehensible to the whole of humanity."

"Right, duh." Mark jokingly smacks the front of his mask, shaking his head. You chuckle at that, turning on your heels. You tap his shoulder as you leave the bathroom.

"You ready to watch me win this thing?" You ask, to which Mark scoffs at your confidence.

"Now hold on, I've got more than just this," He gestures to his outfit, bringing a hand to the side of the skull. You hear a subtle click and suddenly the eyes and top of the skull is aglow in orange. After another beat, you see the smoke dispersing through the same locations.

"I can totally see you passing out from smoke inhalation within the hour."

"It's not in the mask, it's rigged through a compartment on the side. I'll be winning within the hour though." He replies. You can hear the grin behind his words.

"Sure, keep telling yourself that!"

"Who's gonna tell the health-nuts that no one wants celery stalks on Halloween?" Mark groans, glancing down into his bag of candy. He pulls a Nature Valley bar out with visible disgust, the sounds of shrieks and youngsters laughing in the night fill your ears. "Look at this, nah bro!"

"At least it's not dental floss!" You snatch the bar from him, the infamous green wrapper crunching in your grip. You tear the package with ease, cursing as the snack falls onto the street like sawdust.

"Dude!" Mark huffs, watching you bring the opened end of the wrapper to your open mouth. You wave him off, attempting to wipe any crumbs from your costume.

"I went to the same houses as you. If you want it so badly, I'll give you the three in my bag."

The street lights glow warm against the asphalt below, illuminating the cul-de-sac you two chose for this year's trick-or-treat festivities. Over the past hour, you both had decided to go house to house separately. Most of the people who you came across praised your costume for its creative freedom. A few houses gave you extra candy for it. That was extra points in your book! Mark was doing about the same as you, his bag filled roughly half way. Trying to trust each other's word for what people said about your costumes was a joke though. You both regrouped at a street corner, talking shit about the reactions you both told one another. As if it was so hard to believe either of you got a thumbs up for your chosen characters.

Now you sit on the curb (or rather, Mark sits and you stand due to costume restrictions... a major penalty to your points, he'd said) to the block you've yet to venture around, digging through the various types of candy and fruit snacks and weird shit people decide is a good Halloween handout.

"Why do people even buy those carrot sticks?" His voice is laced with frustration, pulling the snack pack out of his candy haul. "Like, who actually eats these for fun?"

"People who like the spicy crunch of raw carrot." You reply, reaching for his gloved hand again. But he's learned this time, pulling away.

You dig through your bag, pulling out a pack of Skittles and shaking them in his direction. Mark sits there for a moment, foot tapping as he takes a moment to think about your offer. Gloved fingers twitch in a come hither motion; the finality of the trade off.

"Couldn't trust me to trade with you once we get back to my place?" You tease.

"Not after the Nature Valley bar."

"You didn't even want it." You scoff, tossing the pack of candy as he tosses the carrots at you. Ever the savior you are. Your attention tracks to the houses that you have yet to raid, watching a group of young kids skip up the drive and rush the door.

"How much longer you wanna do this?" You ask. Mark shrugs, glancing at his phone.

"It's coming up on 8:30... think we could make it through this entire block by nine?" You tilt your head slightly, inky fingers holding up the tote on your person.

"Bet, this entire block is done in ten minutes and we bail." You offer your free hand that Mark takes, tugging him to his feet. With determined strides, the two of you start for the first house on the block.

The houses all look the same as you move down the street, the only difference being the appearance of adorned exteriors. You could tell which households went all out for the season and which didn't based on the decorations. A mass of projections in windows and four-hundred dollar giant skeletons in front yards could only be cool for so long. In reality, you preferred the homes that put a little charm in their decorating. Cotton spiderwebs and spooky ghosts hanging in bare trees. A few creepy animatronics and a scarecrow with pumpkins on the doorstep to pull it all together. Just a little charm, like this next house you're coming up to.

A group of kids race past you and Mark, their feet pounding against the pavement as they cut through the yard of the nearest house. You can hear them yell a trick or treat as you both walk up the driveway, and just from their mannerisms you could tell they were teens. The door opens to an elderly woman dressed like the old woman from Snow White, long hooked nose and all. She mumbles something about their costumes and asks how their nights have been as she hands each a handful of candy, and the group hops off the steps, racing into the night like a pack of feral cats.

"Well, look at you two!" Your ears perk as you and Mark turn back to the old woman at the door, disbelief on your face at what just occurred. She gives you a toothy grin, very in character for her costume, waving you up onto the porch with a gusto unlike someone her age.

"Is it too late to say trick or treat?" You joke, taking the steps carefully so you don't trip in your draped fabrics. The woman laughs good-naturedly, her smile widening as you ascend the steps.

"It's never too late, dears!" She replies, holding out the bucket of goodies. "What are we this year, then?" You can't help but grin back at the woman. Her joy for the holiday is infectious as she takes in your costumes with twinkling eyes.

"You'll never guess mine, but Mark here is a-"

"Bro!" Mark smacks your shoulder, voided eyes staring back at you.

"What?"

The old woman chuckles as he takes his handful of candy from the bowl.

"Could we ask you who's is better, Miss?" Mark glances between you both before looking to the woman once more. A wide smile pulls at her cheeks, her laugh warming you like a fresh-baked apple pie.

"Well, now that's too difficult of a question to answer! I think the two of you look just great, and that's all there is to it." Her smile is contagious and you catch yourself grinning back.

"That's very kind of you, Miss." You tell her, reaching for your own handful of candy. "Thank you!"

"You two have a great night now, stay safe!" She says, watching you both step off the porch. Once you're far enough from the door, Mark leans in.

"So what she meant to say was my costume was better, but she's just too sweet of a woman to break your heart."

"Oh stop!"

"I think she was hitting on me." You scoff at that.

"She couldn't even see your face, Mark."

"Don't need to when I got all this to back me up." He says, gesturing to himself like he's the absolute shit.

"So you're trying to say that the Grannies love you?" You ask, raising a brow. He brings a gloved hand to his chest, rattling the chain links across the leather.

"They're busting down my door." He says, tone serious as ever.

"They have arthritis, they can't bust down doors." You counter, turning up the next driveway.

"They can if they're determined enough!" He says, chasing after you.

You and Mark power through the rest of the block, your minds buzzing from the few pieces of candy you'd snuck from your bags. In the last twenty minutes you're sure you collected enough candy to make a toddler bounce off the walls... and a few more Nature Valley bars that Mark will complain about.

You're ready to retire for the night, a successful Halloween, you think. The lights are already out on many houses as you both trek back to the car and a couple of older kids are still shuffling up to doors in hopes of scoring some last minute treats.

"So it's safe to say I won with all the candy in my bag." You say, jostling the tote in your hand with a smirk.

"We haven't even counted out our bags, you haven't won yet!"

"I have to get all this stuff off when I get home! I am not sitting down to count my candy, bro!"

"I'll do it, then." He replies, unlocking the car. You bark out a laugh, pulling on the passenger side door.

"Yeah, I trust you to not cheat."

"You wanna win or not?"

"...Yes."

Jeff the Killer

Jeff always has plans for Halloween, however they aren't the most elaborate

He for sure gets in a kill or two, soaking up the adrenaline of murdering on such a staple holiday

Probably so delusional that he feels like the holiday was created just for him

Will always tell people that Halloween is 'for babies' and that he doesn't celebrate it

It would just be a complete WASTE if he didn't take this opportunity to mess with kids

He would definitely plot this out weeks in advance, finding all the neighborhoods with the best candy

The kids would be all "nice mask!" and he'd show them it isn't one

He would then immediately loot their candy and take it back to the manor and brag to BEN that he got so much more than him and Sally (even tho BEN really couldn't care less)

Doesn't dress up unless he can convince himself it's ironic - will always choose a classic horror or slasher inspired costume

Avid pumpkin smasher

BEN Drowned

Tries to ignore Jeff's taunts that he can 'get more candy than he can even dream of without even dressing up'

Spends the better part of the day doing nothing (as usual)

Plays his usual competitive games, will maybe play a horror game or two

Since he's practically useless 100% of the time, he's forced to take Sally and the other youngins Trick 'r Treatin'

He hates this job, and somehow gets stuck with it every year (Sally manipulates him to go, or begs Slenderman to make him go)

He uses his shifting abilities to his advantage, both by posing as a kiddo to go Trick 'r Treating and to shift back into his default form to scare off any jerks that might be fucking with Sally and the others

At least he likes dressing up

Always goes as Link. Loves the attention if and when people compliment his costume (everyone in the manor always makes fun of his costume)

This is the most walking he does all year

Starts off pretending that he's grumpy and hates it, and then ends up getting way too into it

Actually enjoys the candy - and appreciates that Sally shares with him

If you offer to go with him to watch the kids he'll probably just shrug it off and tell you you'll have more fun staying home

This is probably because he 1. doesn't want you to see him actually having fun with the kids and 2. he doesn't want you taking his share of the candy

Jane the Killer

Nina makes her dress up. Every. Fucking. Year.

Always tries to reuse items she already has in her closet to make a costume (vampire, victorian widow, etc)

Everyone always tells her she's not dressing up, but she doesn't really care because it appeases Nina

Will usually make plans to arrange a little something-something for the creeps to do for the occasion (pumpkin carving activity, scary movie night, etc)

No one really attends, but it makes her feel productive

Usually ends up watching a scary movie alone or with a couple of others if they offer

Always pokes holes in the plot, the acting, the effects

She likes to laugh at horror movies, and has a special interest in the super old ones

Nina the Killer

LOVES Halloween!

Always comes up with elaborate costumes every year

Spends the better half of the year accumulating articles of clothing, props, and DIY stuff

The crafting almost always goes horribly wrong and she needs help pulling it all together in the end

Dresses creepy cute! Makes it a point to go around the whole manor and ask if they like her costume

Always begs Jane to help her throw a crazy party for the manor, in which Jane and Slenderman always say no to

Usually just ends up being satisfied with a little Halloween treat, a little Halloween movie and getting absolutely shitfaced

Definitely BEGS to watch some Halloween movies as opposed to horror movies (The Night Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Hocus Pocus, etc)

Falls asleep after like, two movies

Clockwork

Hates Halloween, but plays along for Nina's sake

Lets Nina dress her however she wants, just to appease her

Usually just goes along with whatever, just so long as she can drink

Will spend the entire night going along with whatever Nina wants to do

Shares looks with Jane throughout the whole night - looks of 'i can't believe we're actually doing this' and 'is she serious?' and 'it's okay though because we love her'

Always ends up having to gut the pumpkins for Nina when they carve them

Stays up late with Jane to watch real horror movies, and makes fun of them with her

Tim/Masky

Since his life is already a living breathing nightmare, he doesn't see much appeal in Halloween

Then again, he's not the keenest on any holiday

Doesn't really even think about holidays anymore, let alone one designed for children to get free candy

Is usually convinced by Brian to participate in pumpkin carving

Or will go for walks in the woods before the weather gets too unbearable

Sometimes its nice because they can walk around society in their masks and not feel so detached from everyone, but it also fucks him up a little to do that

Likes to keep himself busy

One year he managed to string some lights up on the beat up Proxy Cabin, but the generator he found barely kept them lit for a day or so

Can be convinced to tell a scary story around the fire, but only after constant egging from Brian

Brian/Hoodie

Given their circumstances, there's not a lot of opportunity to celebrate any holiday

Proxies don't keep calendars, so sometimes the holiday sneaks up on them or passes by without much of a second thought

Convinces Tim to carve pumpkins with him

It's a nice domestic thing that they can do in the comfort of the Proxy Cabin, and it doesn't take that much work at all

Likes to dress up, but isn't really allowed to given his role in the woods

Tries to keep the Proxies in good spirits around any holiday - wants to hold on to their humanity

Surprises the Proxies with shoplifted chocolate

Attempts to put together small "boo baskets" for everyone. This is mostly trash, shoplifted items, and small whittling projects he's been working on throughout the month

(Ticci) Toby Rogers

Has spent countless Halloweens getting into all sorts of reckless shenanigans

Is 100% down to smash pumpkins in the woods

I'm talking like he goes around stealing them from people's stoops and just brings them back to the woods to absolutely destroy

Will TP strangers' houses

Tries to drown himself with errand tasks for the Operator, so that he can be out and about and see the activities

Always misses Lyra around this time of year, as he can recall a few memories when she would take him out to Trick or Treat

He'd definitely chase some kids just to loot their candy

Or find a group of teenagers that were already scaring kids, and freak them out just for the hell of it

Usually gets high and vandalizes something

Has a very select taste when it comes to horror movies

Really likes the Scream franchise, because its so meta and more of a funny/thrilling 'whodunnit' than scary

One year he crashed a sorority party - he came back home absolutely crossed and threw up over everything (Tim has never let him live this down)

Hello! This is a sort of mini article about lolita fashion! (More of an introduction article) Enjoy!

Lolita fashion-

♡ What is lolita fashion? ♡

Lolita fashion is a subculture which originated in Japan in the early 90s, and gained popularity throughout the mid 90s and early 2000s. The fashion is inspired by victorian clothing and rococo period and is a cute, elegant and modest style.a typical lolita outfit consists of a blouse, a dress or a skirt, a petticoat, long stockings and some headresses such as hats, bows, rectangles and many more. The lolita subculture is divided into 3 main styles- gothic lolita, classic lolita, and sweet/pastel lolita. There are a lot of in-between styles such as hime (princess) lolita, punk lolita, sailor lolita, guro(horror) lolita and many more. A common misconception about lolita fashion is mixing it up with cosplay, which is wrong. lolita is not cosplay, it is a lifestyle and a form of self expression through clothes, while cosplay is a form of roleplay, pretending to be someone else using costumes. another misconception about lolita, is thinking that it has anything to do with the famous novel written by vladimir nabokov lolita, which contains depictions of sexual abuse and pedophilia. The fashion itself is very modest and doesn't focus on sexuality. The meaning and reason for dressing lolita is different for each person. Some dress this way because they find it pretty, and some want to celebrate their femininity in a different and more modest way, rather than enhancing their feminine features. Some wear it as a way to rebel against society's pressure on grown people to act and dress a certain way.

♡ history & origin ♡

Although lolita became an established subculture only in the early 90s, its origins date back to the late 1970s. With kawaii culture taking its first steps, and the admiration of French culture being common among the youth, a new type of female street fashion was born, which is called otome (maiden) kei. It is a casual, romantic hyper feminine style, inspired by the European fashion and femininity of the 1960s. As a result, a lot of fashion brands such as milk, pretty (now known as angelic pretty) and pink house adopted this new look, and the style became very popular in Harajuku district in tokyo. During the 80s, the popular magazine olive influenced fashion by featuring those brands, and promoting a "french lifestyle", which paved the way for future lolita brands. The romantic french look of the 80s was a start, and a little later lolita was born! street fashion magazines such as kera and fruits started featuring lolita fashion in their issues, and the fashion became more popular. The 90s were also when gothic lolita made its first appearance, which was created by the visual kei guitarist mana sama. He created a link between Visual Kei aesthetic and a dark Victorian twist on lolita. He also opened his own brand, moi meme moitie which was a refreshing alternative to the classic lolita brands, and has influenced lolita to this day. At the time, lolita fashion became more defined and, by the noughties decade it was at its peak. Kera published the famous spin off magazine, gothic & lolita bible, which featured diy and makeup tutorials, interviews with designers and musicians, street photographs, new collections and many more. By that time, pretty changed their name to angelic pretty, and more brands started designing for specific lolita substyles. the movie kamikaze girls came out, in which the main character, momoko, is a lolita who wears dresses designed by the brand baby the stars shine bright (btssb) and daydreams about the french rococo lifestyle, influenced the style and members of the community and with that the sweet lolita was the new look. During that time lolita gained recognition overseas, with brands opening shops in Europe and the US, and misako aoki becoming the ambassador of kawaii lolita fashion. The livejournal community EGL (elegant gothic lolita)for western lolita was established, and the international popularity developed the style even more, but sadly as the time passed lolita became less popular. moi meme moitie closed all of their physical stores, and magazines like g&lb fruits and kera stopped publishing new issues. with the rise of fast fashion, came the downfall of lolita fashion.

♡ lolita lifestyle ♡

Many lolitas think of lolita as a way of living, and not just a clothing style. Some sweet lolitas choose to live like princesses at the court of Versailles, surrounding themselves with beauty, while goth lolitas like to be mysterious, hang around gothic churches and graveyards and read gothic poetry. each substyle has its own typical activities and lifestyle, although this way of living is optional and depends on the person. you don’t have to indulge in such activities to be considered as lolita. Some popular hobbies among the lolita community are baking, drawing, sewing and embroidery. Those who live the lolita lifestyle wear coords daily, participate in lolita meetups and interact with the lolita community regularly. Usually, lolita meetups take the form of tea parties or picnics in which the members of the community hang out and discuss the latest trends in lolita fashion. Each meetup has its own dress code. Some lolitas feel more comfortable hanging out in groups rather than alone, because the style drags a lot of unwanted attention. Many lolitas get catcalled and harassed simply for dressing a different way than what's considered as mainstream or "normal".

♡ substyles ♡

As I stated before, the lolita subculture contains lots of different substyles, but the main 3 and most popular are gothic, sweet, and classic.

♡ classic lolita -

a lolita substyle that is highly inspired by historical fashion. This style is more mature and elegant than other styles, as it focuses on capturing the elegance of the Victorian era. common motifs among this style are solid color pieces, florals, and stripes along with prints featuring crowns, fleur de lis, crests, antiques, animals, architecture, and reproductions of old master paintings. Animals and fruit prints in classic lolita tend to have a realistic or antique look to them, as opposed to the more cartoon or fantasy-like styles favored by sweet lolita. Unlike other lolita styles, flat shoes are very uncommon. There are many higher heeled shoes with straps as well as Victorian style boots. As for the hair, it's usually kept pretty neutral. common colors are brown, black and blonde. it can be styled in any way but nothing too extreme. The makeup is usually neutral looking to give off a mature elegance.

♡ gothic lolita -

a lolita substyle that takes its inspiration from Victorian clothing and the gothic subculture. This style was popularized by the visual kei guitarist mana sama. common motifs in gothic lolita often include crosses or religious themes, bats, skulls, vampires, coffins, chandeliers, deep red roses, and castles. Darker colors, such as black, navy and royal blue, maroon, crimson, and deep purples are all common in gothic lolita. popular hairstyles are straightened or curled hair left down, or put into pigtails. sausage curl pigtails are popular as well, but are usually styled with more over the top coords. As for makeup, dark lipstick ( red, wine, deep purple and dark brown) and smokey or neatly defined eyes are common. some may add a light blush.

Although mana sama was the one who popularized this substyle, he often wears a unique, dramatic, doll-like makeup look which is not very common among the community, but is well loved. common shoes are mary janes, rocking horse shoes (originally designed by vivienne westwood), boots, and platform shoes.

Although lolita isn't as popular as it once was, it still exists. There are large lolita communities, online and in real life, and some of the brands are still open to this day. In recent years there has been a rising interest in japanese culture in the west. Whether it be through anime or manga, a lot are diving deeper into Japanese culture and fashion. I see lots of people online (typically young people) talking about Japanese street fashion, taking inspiration from fruits and other street fashion magazines, kawaii fashion, gyaru fashion and many more. I think that a part of our generation is trying desperately to go back to slow fashion. I see a lot of teenagers encouraging the consumption of second hand clothing and making things yourself. Maybe this mix of embracing Japanese culture and slow fashion will result in a lolita comeback. I feel like it's happening slowly, with the revival of Japanese street fashion as a whole.

you were cher from ‘75, sebastians favorite female artist and his favorite era of her. your aunt had made the carbon copy of it. she even made the elton costume for your roommate kimberly. she wasn’t invited however, she suggested if you get wasted— which in-fact you weren’t going to drink at all— you couldn’t make it back home without her.

“how do i look?” kimberly walked out of the bathroom, giving you a three-sixty view of her costume, covered in gold. a gold jumpsuit, a sparkly gold coat, a gold medal and to top it off, white boots. “you know what, you look like a rocket man.” you winked at her, handing her the diy bedazzled glasses you made.

whereas you were placing on your sparkly lipgloss that would be gone by the end of the night leaving you with nothing but glittery lips, your breast were squished into the top, practically trying to jump out at anybody, the rest of your torso was exposed to the cold air.

“daaaamn, cher is now eliminated from the competition. you are sexy as hell! so! be honest, could i possibly, get in your pants looking like this?” kimberly laughed, popping her collar she immediately put back down. “you’re such a dork.” you giggled rolling your eyes as you placed the last line of lipgloss you needed on.

“ready to go?” kimberly questioned as she walked over to the mirror you were looking in. “think so.” you tightened the top to your lipgloss and placed it on the vanity. you got out of the chair, fixing up any last minute mishaps you found then left the dorm room, following behind kimberly

it wasn’t long trip to the party, the music was bursting out of the open windows of the rented home, people were walking towards the noisy attraction in costumes, some boys shotgunning beers, and big clouds of smoke being puffed into the air.

“i sure as hell feel overdressed.” kimberly laughed as she parked next to the sidewalk. “i feel… underdressed.” you chuckled as you unbuckled your seatbelt and removed it from across your bare torso.

you waved to a few people you knew that were partaking in the shotgunning and smoking. you got closer to the rented residence you noticed that the door was wide open, you saw so many people, you wondered how in the hell you would fit in there, compared to a can of sardines, the party would win first place for the most claustrophobic place in history. luckily, you and kim managed to get inside the place, finding a very open section at the island, covered in red solo cups and cigarette buds.

“do all the drinking you want yn! this is your night.” kimberly smiled as she handed you an empty cup. “you don’t think i’m actually gonna… drink?” you spoke loudly with a chuckle to follow. “then, what the hell are you here for?” she laughed, grabbing herself a random beer that sat on the countertop. “i didn’t wanna let sebastian down and— don’t drink that you don’t know where it’s been kim.” you snatched the cold drink out of her hand placing it on the other side, far away from her.

“it’s not like he would care or even remember that he invited you. ‘fess up yn, you want to get in his pants by the end of the night!” she shrugged, snapping you into reality. it seems as if you were just another person to him— when you knew you weren’t, there was no point in even showing up. “okay okay, he invited me to make me jealous! i know it, so of course he would remember inviting me.” “so you wanna get in his pants?” you turned your head in shame, placing your hand over your mouth. “you’re sick! look, we’ll meet back here at eleven forty-five. that gives us time to get something to eat, bye!” kimberly walked away from you before you could even possibly disagree with her.

as for you, you sat alone. the one thing you weren’t going to do is be like a puppy and search for sebastian— god knows where he is. instead, you sat in the white bar chair all by yourself, playing with ring of the cup.

“i didn’t think you’d come.” a voice rang loudly behind you. you turned around in the bar chair looking at the tall, blonde, undeniably handsome guy that spoke to you. “you invited me no?” you snapped back trying to match his volume until he got closer to you. “still the same yn i know.”

“so, my costume, what do you think?” you hopped out of the seat and spun around for him. “cher from seventy-five.” he bit his lip, slowly wrapping him around your finger.

“you want a drink?” he got off the bar chair that sat before your own. “no, i don’t intend to drink tonight.” you placed the red solo cup on the counter, leaving it alone finally. you looked up at sebastian’s puzzled face. “no drinking?” he laughed a little. “— well, ms. cher. i don’t want you to have a boring time.” he smirked, sitting back down in front of you.

it’s not that you really don’t want to drink, you loved a little long island iced tea. the problem was, when you become intoxicated, you get a little sexual. that’s not why you came to the party, so you were avoiding drinks at all cost. nevertheless, with sebastian in a semi-tight grey graphic tee and acid washed jeans, you didn’t need the alcohol to be slightly intimate.

taking a swig, a shot, even a few sips was risky.

“just dance with me then if you’re not going to drink.” he suggested. “i am not gonna be on the floor, dancing around you and whatever girl you’re gonna fuck before the party is over!” you gave him a snarky remark. “you’ve got the clothes for it anyway! let’s go.” he sat up once again, grabbing one of your hands.

“i don’t even dance.” that was a big lie, you made sebastian drive you to dance practice when you were sleeping together. you loved dancing, you weren’t that bad at it either. you weren’t gonna show it though. “don’t lie to me. i remember you dancing the morning after we-.” “alright enough of that.” he pulled you out of your seat, he spun you around twice, trying to catch the groove of the music.

watching part 3 tomorrow so this is just running commentary, but wanted to say this story is full of so many fantastic concepts and lines of dialogue — even tiny plot-irrelevant scenes that make the humour pop, like the one with the queen and her corgis — that not even the fuckass flimsy £10 cyberman costumes can spoil the fun for anyone with a smidge of active imagination. people on the internet seem to be generally unimpressed with the serial, but i think even from a purely visual standpoint the effects are pretty rad (the cyber-carrier and subsequent explosion! the 3D scanner sphere that emanates from the doctor’s DIY boombox! great stuff for 1988) let alone all the themes!! cybermen linked with death of the soul again, and music (jazz! temporal chaos personified) as the ultimate antidote. i just know steven moffat LOVED this episode. there’s even a fez. goodnight xx

PART 3: RETURN TOUR WARDROBE - CAMPY AS FUCK

This is the third part of my 4-part analysis of MCR5, the Masterpost for which can be found here. Link to next part found at the bottom of the post. If there's something I missed, or you'd like to add your own spin/elaborate on something I brushed over, by all means I'd love to hear it!!

So for Campy As Fuck, we’ve got a great range of costuming that seems incredibly intentional and costuming that seems so stupidly fun. Deep political commentary can coexist with just doing things for the bit and because you simply want to. Gerard did say that this tour "was the most fun we’ve ever had. Every day it’s like clown city!" Also, for my own ease of reading, costumes that were designed by Marina Toybina will have an asterisk (*). I’ve also had to do a fair bit of research for this and found some things that I haven’t heard anyone else talk about.

In an interview with Marina Toybina, she said this:

”I didn’t know if they had a designer. Then he did mention Colleen (Atwood) was doing something for him.”

I don’t think it’s common knowledge that Colleen Atwood also worked on the tour outfits. She did the costuming for The Black Parade and Danger Days, so it’s fantastic to see her back for the tour, and it explains some gaps in the costuming. Toybina only did 11 of the characters Gerard portrayed onstage, some of the outfits are DIYed, and a few of them I speculate could be Atwood’s work.

META-MAN: “I feel so powerful!”

The first outright Costume in the reunion tour. At this show in Milton Keynes, Gerard had this white suit splattered in blood and tattered, white mask with the Meta logo drawn on their forehead. Pretty clear-cut commentary on Meta, how you shouldn’t let corporations own your identity and such. Gerard went on a 4-minute spiel on his feelings about Meta-verse. Here’s an abridged version of it here:

“We don’t want your meta-verse. We don’t want you having every single detail of our lives, and CONTROL over it… living your life on a screen, and giving everything- giving these corporations everything. And living in a new and beautiful and EXCITING, virtualistic fucking world. I feel the same way that David Lynch feels about watching a movie on your telephone… I’m not judging, there’s no judgement. You do your thing on there, I’ve done my thing… Look, there can be great things to share on there… Just don’t give those bastards EVERYTHING! Keep some for yourself and the people you love.”

To me, this is reminiscent of the ethos of Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The Fabulous Killjoys fight against Better Living Industries or BL/ind. (hah! Get it?!) who have seized utter control of Battery City in post-apocalyptic 2019 California. The story encompasses topics of capitalism, consumerism, corporations, and corporate greed.

Not any clear ties to MCR5 here, aside from maybe talk of corporations, but there doesn’t have to be. This works beautifully as a little statement piece from Mr. Way here.

CLOWN GERARD: “They are gonna have to bury me in this motherfucking filthy clown suit.”

Gerard Way is a filthy fucking clown. This is unbelievably fun, and so far removed from the established MCR lore.

I think clowns also embody the spirit of the return tour: they’re getting silly and having fun with it and not taking themselves so seriously. I’m vaguely reminded of Hesitant Alien, and the psychology of Lola. They would look right at home next to a clown, methinks.

Again, no clear MCR5 ties as it’s not necessary. This is just so fucking fun.

UNCLE FESTER????:

The ghoulish/skeletal makeup is familiar to MCR. This whole look though? It’s something.

That raincoat-poncho-thing appears to be that earthy green that’s appeared throughout the tour, albeit a lot grosser. ‘Doug’ is written on the front which is a nod to MCR’s producer. The silhouette of this entire fit reminded me of Uncle Fester from The Addams Family. The themes of that franchise (death/decay/vermin/rot/reanimation) wouldn’t be so far removed from the themes of MCR5. That being said, I don’t know if Gerard is even a fan of The Addams Family so we’re definitely reaching.

CLOWN GERARD (REPRISE):

Unlike the previous clown outfit which was very circus-y, this reads a lot more like Joker. They’re both sort of decrepit jesters, but this has a little less whimsy than the former.

The shirt they’re wearing is a Watchmen tee. Watchmen and Joker are both rooted in comic books. Gerard loves comic books. Maybe it’s that simple. Clowns are not familiar to MCR in the slightest. I did say that the clowns popping up could be symbolic for how fun the tour is for the band, but I’m reminded of something Gerard said after the release of Revenge regarding the attention they had garnered.

“There’s a fine line between being treated like a demi-god and a circus monkey. It’s almost the same thing”

Dressing up like a clown because you feel silly and jovial is all fun. Painting clown makeup on your face to comment on the way you feel you’re being commodified and treated like an attraction is scathing.

CRYING BLOOD GERARD:

More religious subtext here. MCR’s first album ‘I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love’ features a song called Lady of Sorrows. The Lady of Sorrows refers to the Mary mother of Jesus in Catholicism. Gerard and Mikey were both raised Catholic, something Gerard has said ‘is some scary shit.’ So the Lady of Sorrows is depicted crying for all the sorrow she has suffered (Jesus dying etc.), with statues of Mary being known to, through some sort of divine miracle, cry real tears or blood. The black sclera contacts are a real nice touch.

Jesus’ story is technically one of rebirth? Which appears to be a very explicit theme of MCR5?? And the Virgin Mary could almost make the cut for FEMCR as a historical (??) woman who is mythologised and experiences a lot of tragedy? There’s layers here, both with the religious iconography and what may be a Virgin Mary cosplay.

SKELETON!!!!:

Now this? THIS is so fun. Skeleton iconography is very familiar to MCR through The Black Parade. This is so campy. It’s giving shitty Halloween costume. Back during The Black Parade it was fairly common for the band members, Gerard especially, to don skeleton face paint for performances. Case in point:

Skeletons are very at-home with MCR. The skeleton one-piece, however? It’s skewing away from those traditional themes of death, grief and illness that are present in TBP. This skeleton is silly and fun and campy. Skeleton Gerard reads as another nod to MCR’s established aesthetic, to what the band represented before, and yes, we are going to acknowledge it exists but we are moving on from that. You wanted The Black Parade? You wanted skeletons? Sure! Here’s our frontman in this stupid skeleton suit from Party City.

MY CATMICAL ROMEOWNCE:

Babe. BABE. Can I be real for a moment? Can I speak freely for just a second? I love you so much, but you are so fucking weird.

In all honesty though, I do think this is at least alluding to the established motifs of MCR. Gerard spoke on tour about the stray cat they took in during quarantine who brings them dead rats. The Foundations of Decay refers to vermin, and there’s rat iconography on the set as well as Gerard’s weird rambles about rats. They had a shirt spray painted with the word ‘rats’ one night, and this may be the follow up to that. I will say the neckline on that sweater is incredibly Wine Aunt, and we love to see it.

As I’ve stated before, we are the rats. We are the vermin swarm. Mr. Way?? Are you out to get us or what?

BLACK SWAN:

This costume is really cool, but I have not watched Black Swan so there’s not a lot I can say about it. From what I gather it’s about ballet and about the ballet Swan Lake and there’s themes of perfectionism. I skimmed the Wikipedia page and that was about it. If might go watch the movie, come back and rewrite this entire bit.

When I was researching however, I DID come across Black Swan Theory; a metaphor for the reality that just because something has not happened does not mean that it cannot occur in the future. (Britannica). So something that has not happened? And may seem unlikely but is not an impossible occurrence? Like, mayhaps, a fifth MCR album? Think about it for a little.

(If you're familiar with Black Swan and you have stuff to add, please please please by all means I know there's probably a lot I'm missing here.)

WATCHMEN REFERENCE?:

A not-so-subtle-but-not-so-obvious reference to Gerard Way’s appearance at Comic Con in 2010:

The inclusion of the bullet through the skull I think is reminiscent of the iconic Watchmen smiley face.

Watchmen tackles themes of nuclear warfare and war. It’s incredibly rooted in a real-world narrative, and explores and deconstructs heroes/superheros in a grounded setting. The narrative of MCR5 is going to be more raw, more realistic in this sense. With references to 9/11, and functioning as an almost meta-commentary on the band’s rebirth itself, we’re moving away from a concept that’s fantastical like in Revenge, and to something more akin to TBP. Watchmen is also explicitly about war, which is an established theme for The Foundations of Decay and the backdrop of the Return Tour.

As A DC/’Superhero’ Comic, that grounded, grittiness that’s not so common to typical superhero comics is a lot of what Watchmen encompasses. Gerard has talked extensively about how much Watchmen influenced them as a writer and a person. It’s likely this might just be an ode to an incredible piece of art, but the themes of MCR5 and Watchmen marry into each other quite well.

*BAT GERARD:

Now this? THIS is Camp. The big, black boots, the gloves, the WINGS. You wanted vampires? How about bats? How about a stupid, slutty bat costume?

No connection to MCR5 this is just delightful.

*CASINO GERARD:

The sparkly gold tux? It’s fantastic. ‘The house always wins’ was written on the drum that night and is in reference to casinos. To make a profit, the ‘house’ needs to be skewed against the players. We’re a few neurons off from turning that into a grand metaphor for capitalism.

This night they performed a Frank Sinatra cover. I totally dig it.

*SHEET GHOST GERARD:

Oh man oh man oh man-

As is with basically every costume in Campy as Fuck, it’s just stupidly fun. This may be one of my favourite ones. It’s just so fun. The references to the undead and spirits and ghosts seem familiar from The Black Parade, but this still feels wholly new.

HELENA/REVENGE-ISH GERARD:

This feels almost like nostalgia-baiting. MCR wants us to draw connections between the colour palettes of this outfit and the Revenge age. The stunt they pulled at WWWYFest was a much more obvious play on the toxicity of nostalgia culture. The black with little pops of red is so reminiscent of the band’s Revenge uniforms, and I think this is paying ode to that. Also their flower is so big it looks a little silly.

I read this as an ode to Helena; the black with the red flowers. MCR keeps toeing that line of familiar and new and I adore it.

*GERACULA:

VAMPIRE TIME BABEY!!!

It’s already been established that vampires hold significance in the MCR mythos. They’ve written 5 songs, maybe more, that are about or use vampires as a metaphor. To my knowledge, vampires have been referenced in MCR since the first album, but we haven’t seen them appear in music videos or in costuming. UP UNTIL NOW!

Gerard Dracula. Geracula. I believe this is a costume recreated from the 1931 movie ‘Dracula.’ It’s the traditional, gothic vampire that MCR loves. It’s also incredibly Camp. Vampires have thematic relevance to a lot of MCR’s messages, about addiction, but I suppose as undead they’re sort of a symbol of rebirth? I’m pushing for this to have MCR5 ties but it really doesn’t need to, it’s so fun.

RED SKULL? PHANTOM? I DUNNO???:

So! I’ve been pointing out allusions to military/anti-war commentary with the green and camo throughout the entire tour thus far. This could be read as a reference to The Ghost of You music video (set in WWII) with the military uniform, or something that could just be Fun, but it feels far too intentional for that. Why the bright red? Why not black or green?

Hear me out: this is the man who stands upon the hill in The Foundations of Decay. He’s the military leader, the one who has endured the battles and gets to be canonised in death. He’s in red and black because that was the unofficial ‘uniform’ for My Chemical Romance and their fanbase. He’s our leader and we are his devotees, his mob, his minions.

That one is a fairly big stretch, but we’re trying to cover as much ground as possible. It’s like monkeys and typewriters, maybe if I ramble for long enough, I’ll write Shakespeare.

I think this outfit may be a Colleen Atwood costume; it’s too high quality to be store bought but doesn’t appear on Toybina’s Instagram.

God sorry this one was so, so long, I promise the next part won't be. I think.

#Repost @rachel.elspeth.gross ・・・ Today’s Inspiration: Paco Rabanne Paco Rabanne, who “Salvador Dalí simply called him the second genius of Spain,” designed distinctive, innovative haute couture that stood out in the era of Space Age chic. When Chanel said that Rabanne “was not so much a couturier but a metalworker,” it was snide, but Rabanne was using metal wire and plastic to “push the boundaries of acceptable clothing to wear on the street.” In 1979 he released Métal “a fragrance for young women who adore metal accessories.” He had a flighty reputation, which he didn’t help by making some wild public claims about his spiritual beliefs. Born outside San Sebastián, Spain in 1934, mom was chief seamstress at the Spanish Balenciaga atelier. Dad, a Colonel, was executed by Fascists during the Spanish Civil War. They became refugees in 1939 when they fled to France “where he [first] assumed the name Paco Rabanne.” Rabanne got an architecture degree from Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1964, covered the costs of his education by designing ostentatious costume jewelry (and buttons!) “for Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga.” In 1965, at 30, he presented a collection of dresses he called “Manifesto: 12 unwearable dresses in a row; contemporary materials,” which included his first plastic dress. Rabanne “eschewed needles and thread for pliers.” His couture runway shows used music (which simply wasn’t done when he started the practice) and featured models of color. Rabanne showed his first couture collection in 1966, “complete with hair by Vidal Sassoon,” and then opened a boutique in 1966, “where he earned international repute for his metal-linked plastic-disc dresses, sun goggles and jewelry made of plastic.” Peggy Guggenheim was one of his most faithful, and first, clients; Donyale Luna, arguably the first Black supermodel, was a muse. Rabanne sold “Paco’s Sewing Kit” for DIY enthusiasts to remake one of his pieces at home (I need one, BADLY). He won the Golden Thimble in 1989, published a book of his spiritual beliefs in the 90s and retired in 1999. In 2005, an exhibition of his drawings was held in Moscow. Soviet union films that you should check out

Viy (Вий) (1967)

The film was directed by ukranian directors Konstantin Yerchov and Georgi Kropachyov in 1967. The film is an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's short story Viy, published in 1835. The story is about an encounter between three young men freshly out of the seminary in Kiev and a witch, to whom they take shelter after wandering off into the plain. The witch sets her sights on one of them, Thomas, who is not fooled and tries to catch her at her own game. In revenge, she pretends to be dead, and Thomas is forced to watch over her body in a chapel for three days. After what, Thomas’ soul is promised to heaven. But things don't go according to plan, and the corpse comes back to life at night, to torment the young clerk.

Gogol's story is rooted in the rich folklore of Ukraine, but from the outset it is an anti-clerical manifesto. This vein can be felt in the film adaptation, which sticks very closely to the text. Indeed, anti-clericalism was one of the main spearheads of the Soviet regime, which meant that the adaptation project was widely welcomed by the authorities. What is interesting, however, is that the film delves into Ukrainian cultural history and gives a fantastic portrait of medieval Ukraine. One can see this especially in the duel between Christianity and older local beliefs, and particularly through the character of the witch as she invokes the demon Viy, king of the gnomes, as Thomas is trying to perform exorcism on her.

The film is on the side of horror, but paradoxically it is less through the evocation of monsters than through the character of the witch herself. The power of Natalya Varley's gaze is heightened by the stillness of the shots and the silence, building up the film's horrific tension. The ambivalence of this character, who oscillates between looking like a young girl and an old woman, tends to deconstruct the vulnerability of female characters in cinema. It is she who triumphs in the story, simply by virtue of her powers, which enable her to destroy the man who was standing up to her. In relation to the context of the film's production, this character is truly unsettling just as magnetic.

The character of the young clerk is also very interesting. Far from being a hero, he has many flaws, including alcoholism and cowardice. The use of diy special effects with proto-green screen attempts to make the character's flaws more palpable on screen. He is very much inspired by the characters of Gothic novels, and his destiny only confirms this.

As for the figure of the devil Viy, it encapsulates both the power of folklore and the fatality that mows down in its path all individuals who do harm to society. It is Thomas's greedy and selfish quest for salvation that causes his downfall. Beyond these considerations, the staging of the demonic saraband is remarkable. Many of the special effects, such as the green screens mentioned above, and the analogue processes used in the sets and costumes are brilliantly executed. And in a way, they set the standard for the representation of monsters in cinema, since relatively similar processes will be found in other films later on, such as Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings saga (2001-2003).

I thought it might be fun, and I've been wanting to try this for six months, but I've been too anxious to ask in case it's weird. -Depending on where I'm at in the writing process, I check platforms more or less often. If I don't see something right away, give it a bit of time. I'm likely hunched over my keyboard and will resurface for air eventually. -Within the Lumos universe, when dressing the characters, I typically consider a few factors: age, the character's relationship to the muggle world, their daily routines, the climate, and their financial status. For example, around the house, Arthur wears muggle clothes. But they're often from an earlier time in his life or handmade by Molly. He doesn't necessarily always match them correctly. The question of "when would they have gotten this item" is something I think on a lot when picking new clothing items, and I usually try to re-use pieces between multiple scenes. -Feel free to offer suggestions for either timeline, but bear in mind the characters haven't had much time for shopping in Hermione's timeline, so most of them probably aren't decked out in a set of Miss Sixty's ultra-low rises from the Birmingham location that's about to open in their era. Other things to consider/a moderately detailed rundown of characters and how they dress that ran away from me [a few, mild spoilers for the Lumos universe stories]:

Characters who work at the Ministry (or have worked there) are more likely to own things that suit a Ministry setting, though they may have differing attitudes towards these items, depending on the timeline in question.

The characters in the Lightning generation especially dress in a way that's very based in the costuming found in the films. So, think 80's/90's, since the wizarding world is a bit behind the muggle one, even with the younger people. Fleur is the exception, since she brought most of her clothes from France, and thrifts and alters her new acquisitions.

Other people in Arthur and Molly's generation might dress in a more formal wizarding style, or in items from the 70's, depending on their attitudes and relationships with muggle cultures. Older people who are better off might have newer things, too.

Characters fall into different places on the comfort/style paradigm.

Hermione dresses for function, mostly. These functions vary. Sometimes, it's about what's pragmatic for brewing or casting or training. But sometimes she's dressing to project a message--to George, to herself, to the world at large.

George dresses for purpose, prioritizing comfort when possible. He's grown a fair bit in embracing his own style where it differs from Fred's.

Arthur cannot do rough, uneven, and uncomfortable textures.

Molly fashions her own frills and sometimes wears them even when they might not suit her scheduled chores. Unlike Fleur, you can tell Molly's DIY pieces are DIY.

Fred wears nice clothes like armor,

and Fleur wears nice clothes like a second skin.

Angelina dresses for movement and practicality. Her mum usually braids her hair to help protect it in Quidditch practices and matches, and she'll do Angelo's.

Ginny hovers her hand over her trunk and makes a unique choice every day if she wants to be a sunbeam or a lightning strike. It is a coinflip.

Harry wears what Molly and Ginny buy him, since it always fits well.

Ron finds a sense of confidence in uniform, so he wears his even when he's not on duty.

Bill is constantly oscillating between his inner pulls towards independence and responsibility, so he might be cool-dragon-leather-jacket-Bill or grumpy-sport-coat-Bill, depending on the day.

Charlie has holes in nearly 3/4ths of his items. Not a single, whole sock in his collection. He's rough with his things, and doesn't think much of it. He can sew, from necessity, but it doesn't look pretty.

Percy dresses like Arthur dressed for the office in 1980, only he wears those things in his downtime, too. There are some differences, accounting for Percy's tastes--lots of long sleeves, neutral greys and blacks, and he's better at avoiding mismatched items because he is diametrically opposed to his clothing being affronting or loud [in color, texture, or the impression it might give others]. He wants his mouth or his quill to speak for him, and not anything else. The only statement Percy cares for his clothes to make is that he is intelligent. His only chance of having any sway when things get rough is to be seen as one of the smarter people in the room.

The children wear a mixture of hand-me-downs and newer things. Harry initially balked at hand-me-downs for Teddy, but eventually, he realized that sometimes hand-me-downs are not always markers of neglect, but rather belonging.

Young as they are, much of the children's style is currently a mixture of their parents and family's, though their own opinions do play a role [Victoire gravitates more towards Bill's aesthetic than Fleur's, at present; Angelo prefers red; Teddy avoided buttons until he was about four and a half, and his wardrobe still reflects this in some areas].

Luna is a shopfront magpie. She picks things only when they make her stop, smile, and say, "How strange." She gravitates more towards softer blues, like Fleur, but she is far less coordinated with them. She rotates her things so as not to hurt their feelings from neglect.

Emmeline and Marcus shop together a lot--more as they've gotten closer. It's one of their bonding activities, and Marcus is very much the dad waiting on the bench outside the fitting room [muggle or magical, it doesn't matter], who will hype her up when she emerges to do a twirl. She has a unique style that she cultivates, and it's always evolving. Details are important to her, so things like custom pieces or alterations catch her eye. She's more of a curator than a crafter, though; she's been too busy with school to allow for much else. [Marcus is admittedly less enthusiastic about his own wardrobe, but he lets Emmeline manage it from time to time.] He takes her to the same muggle stylist who did her late mum's hair, which is quite special for her.

Parvati used to be quite invested in style and trends. Now, she tracks them as a perfunctory task in case she needs to blend in somewhere posh. Since the war with Voldemort, her wardrobe has become less varied and a bit more severe-looking. She dresses to look older, stronger, and to conceal any appearance of weakness. Padma and Mrs. Patil sneak colour and whimsy back into her wardrobe anyway.

Every article of clothing that Winky puts on her body is an act of resistance. She never dresses without thinking. If she tries it on, she owns it. [She's donated a lot to the hidden cities.] She used to wear human children's clothing, but by 2003, she's since found a tailor. [It's Fleur. Fleur is the tailor, though Winky will also wear things made by elves and goblins, too.]

Gable loves his knitted caps and gravitates to bright colours because they're still distinguishable underground.

Dennis is equally likely to be spotted in something that looks vaguely like a shirt George or Harry might've outgrown as he is to be seen in some fleeting, muggle trend. Sometimes Dennis goes shopping with Marcus and Emmeline. [Dennis and Emmeline embraced grunge together for a bit; Emmeline grew out of it faster. Much, much faster.]

...I'm going to stop there, because that became far longer than anticipated. [Hopefully it's entertaining and fun and not a wall of annoying text.] Anyways, these are some of the things I tend to think about while dressing the characters, but don't feel like you have to account for all of that. <3 <3 I included it mostly for fun or for anyone who wants it.

TLDR: If you have any inclination to contribute clothing inspiration or ideas, I'd be quite excited to see them!! Inspiration/suggestions would be taken on an as-needed basis, with consideration to what fits within the outline and the remaining chapters.
