Me? Wanting to talk about the locker room scene in comparison to the cemetery scene to make a point no one asked about? Raise your hand if you saw this is coming 🙋‍♀️

Anyway, this is madness written by a gifmaker/video editor who hates coloring the cemetery scene with a burning passion and who spent the better part of the past 2 days trying to make a coloring work for the locker room scene, who also did some asking around with other editors who also seem to be having issues with the scene, and who spends way too much time thinking about Buck and death (someone drown that man, please).

I'm gonna start this off by saying that I don't really believe the cemetery scene will be directly addressed on the show no matter how much I wish it would. But something about the cemetery scene besides the actual content of the scene that keeps me up at night and had me writing multiple fics dealing with it, is the fact that the sky is only blue behind Eddie.

Why is that relevant in any way, shape, or form? The colors when the focus is on Buck or both of them have this almost yellowish tone that the focus on Eddie doesn't have. The sky and colors strongly imply that they added a filter to it in post-production to ensure the colors looked like that, along with the fact that it is a scene that's really weird to color something that happens when they go too hard on the filters *cough* crossover *cough* pilot *cough*. What does that have to do with the locker room? The locker room also has this almost yellowish tone that makes it hell to color. But based on my 2 days of testing different colorings and techniques, it seems to be a hell of a lot worse when the shot has that wall over there where the sun is hitting as a background.

That suggests that they wanted the scenes to have a specific lighting that they achieved later. Considering the way that the tendency of the cemetery is that the colors get muted or weirdly blended together and that the locker room goes YELLOW, I am assuming that they messed with the colors on the cemetery to make the colors look faded, giving it that gloomy feeling, which in turn made the sky almost white, and that they needed that sunlight reflecting on the wall to look that bright, which made the scene look a lot more yellow than it should. Seriously, trying to work this out I legit make it look like Buck is a Simpsons character.

Okay, but Anna, why did you make this particular connection? Well, the word is muted when Buck is talking about starting to date Natalia and then the sun gets brighter when he talks about them breaking up? COME ON. He's calling the relationship boring and the word literally gets brighter as he says it, madness.

Buck talking about dating Natalia -> Buck talking about breaking up with Natalia (please don't judge the gifs I don't want the stress of coloring them combined right now lol)

But that's the same reaction. Dude is smiling going in, he's smiling going out.

And considering Buck's relationship with his own death and the way I strongly believe that what drew him to Natalia was the fact that she didn't think his death was a tragedy and he wasn't ready to deal with the reality of had happened to him yet, to get him to the point where death is boring is progress. Makes me fear for my Buck breakdown wishes, but it is progress for that particular aspect of Buck, considering he has a very intricate relationship with death down to the fact he was born as a hail mary to prevent it. We have multiple near-death experiences, we have him saving the lives of people loves multiple times, the first time we see him he's saving a kid who drowned, his first big conflict is the fact that he's not handling not being able to save someone's life all that well, I can keep going, but you see my point, right?

The arc with Natalia, even though we didn't see the originally planned conclusion since the actress couldn't come back, had this point of Buck looking at what happened to him through the eyes of someone who didn't know him before and was actually excited about that happening, so he could distance himself from what happened and look at it from a "safe" distance. That distance also allowed him to ignore the very important "I need to do this for myself" thing from the coma dream because Buck is terrified of being alone, and that definitely includes the fear of finding out who he is by himself. Buck is bad at being alone, from meaningless sex, to hanging on to Abby too long, to hanging on to Taylor too long, to jumping in with Natalia, the first pretty girl who looked his way, it all makes this part of him very clear (parenthesis because I just had a thought, yes, Buck latches on to Taylor out of fear of being alone triggered by Eddie almost dying, but he thought he could have died himself considering the crane and everything about it and also the way he could very much have been shot at the same time as Eddie, he latched on to Natalia because he did die, he also almost died on his first date with Abby and Abby actually reached out to him when he was feeling all sorts of bad over someone dying, and he is held at gunpoint and watched a death that deeply affected him before he started dating Ali, so we have death as a connection here too, if that makes sense, I might have to come back to this thought later).

But the thing is, when you look at 6a for Buck considering the fact that Buck is passively suicidal, in a very I'm not trying to get killed but I don't think I don't care if I do die way, and how he probably thought he was going to die in a blaze of glory saving someone, and how he actually died in a pretty run-of-the-mill call, by something no one has any control over it, Buck's relationship with what he thought death was and would be for him changed. For one, Buck was not ready for how much it affected everyone around him, he never considered what the grief of losing him would do to the people he loves, but also, Buck's main excuse for his near-death experiences/impulsive behavior that puts him in mortal danger was "but I didn't actually die" like with the blood clots or "I didn't get the worst of it" like with the shooting, I think even the tsunami a little bit with how he felt about losing Chris. But he did actually die, and considering the fact that he went up that ladder when Chimney was ready to go up and Eddie also got hit by the lightning, he also got the worst of it. So he lost his own coping mechanism.

So he arrived at a point where death is boring and he is smiling like an idiot at Eddie welcoming him "back to the world of the living" and that could have fun implications going forward. Because, one, he still hasn't dealt with a big emotion in a healthy way, and two, Bobby is in mortal danger. Considering his reaction to Bobby being dead in his coma world and the fact that he has no coping mechanism left when it comes to death anymore along with his own relationship with water and danger we could have some fun reactions to these types of triggers for him there.

And thinking about the way Oliver keeps talking about Buck learning more about himself and also about Buck leaning on Eddie, someone who had his own journey dealing with multiple layers of his relationship with death, they have a fun space to play with there, with Buck's relationship with death, Eddie's relationship with Buck's death, and everything else that could happen with Eddie fully dealing with Shannon's death, and Buck dealing with anything really, Daniel, his own death, his fear of being alone, all as someone who actually wants to live, who's not just moving because he's alive and has no other alternative.

Summary: You and Marc have a hypothetical conversation about the idea of vampirism and what would entail if he were to decide that he wanted to join you in that un-life.

"What do you mean it's complicated?" Marc asked after you gave a weird answer to his hypothetical question.

"Vampirism is a very hard thing to get used to for both parties. You'd have to get used to the new lifestyle and also there's the whole thing with fledglinghood," you explain before Marc cuts you off. "Fledglinghood? That's an actual thing?" Marc scoffs. "Believe it or not, Marc Spector. Fledglings are a legit thing in the vampire world and it's something alright," you say. "It's a whole thing. I'd basically have to teach you to adapt and get used to everything as a new vampire." you explain.

Marc lets out an amused scoff again, "I think I could hunt for my own. I had to track down people back before Jake took the job as Moon Knight for me and Steven." he says.

"Oh, that would be another thing," you exclaim. "I don't know how the whole fledgling thing would work because as the one turning you I would basically own your soul and body. Kind of...?" you drawl out, "And that would lead me and the old bird to have a custody battle over you." you add. Marc looks to you confused and slightly shocked. "Listen I don't know how DID works in regards to vampirism and going off the whole story you told me about dying for the second time I can't tell if you, Steven, and Jake count as three parts of a whole soul or you have your own. Also, you guys have the same body so all three of you would have it," you mention, "And I know Steven would hate the eating part of vampirism." you comment.

"True," Marc agrees. "But can we go back to the soul and body owning part? What the hell is that all about? Do I get it back or do you just keep it?" Marc questions. "Yes and no at the same time." you answer, "So if I were to turn you I would technically own you because I have your soul and you would be my fledgling. And in the old vampire world that usually spelled out servitude and other stuff. But in modern times we don't do that, but the soul owning is still a thing." you explain. "What usually happens now is I would own your soul till you were prepared to handle vampirism and control your urges just so you don't cause havoc when you're in a feeding frenzy state. Once you're out of that period I would give you your soul back and you then have autonomy over yourself again," you conclude. "Basically it's like a kiddie leash for vampires. You don't run off and cause trouble." you simplify.

"Huh." Marc responds. "Is that like in the movies? Where it's like trances?" Marc asks. You take a moment to think about it. "If I wanted to, yeah. But I don't usually do that when I can. I can make you do anything and I can control how conscious you are of it." you say. You expect Marc to just nod but something seems to catch his interest. "When you can?" he exclaims, "What the hell does that mean?" he questions. You realize that you've let something slip.

You sigh.

"Okay, don't be mad or freak out. But sometimes when you guys can't sleep or refuse to, I make you fall asleep. That's all I do, I swear. And I don't do it a lot. I only do it when you guys have been up for too long for it to be healthy and when I'm able to." you explain quickly. "And how are you able to?" Marc questions, seemingly slightly concerned. "Only when I've drunk your guys' blood recently." you answer, "I could also do it through eye contact but that's harder to sneak by you and also it freaks me out," you mention. "Freaks you out?" Marc echos. "When I do it through eye contact I can see your mind leave your eyes and you completely untense your body and it just looks freaky to me." you say. "It's not just you. It's when I do it to anyone in general." you clarify.

Like he's waiting for me to do it," you explain. "I don't know though. I'm not trying to point fingers and accuse him of anything," you remark.

You pretend to not see Marc look towards a reflective surface to his reflection for a second. You don't know what Steven might be saying but Marc looks like he doesn't buy it.

"Well, Steven can get up to whatever he wants. I won't shame him for anything he wants to do." Marc shrugs.

Her worry is that they'd need their motor skills in a fight, or in a retreat...Cait would gripe about helping them with anything if they ask, but she can respect someone who's useful when it matters.

Codsworth; Would offer a hand whenever they looked like they needed it, but otherwise wouldn't comment or acknowledge it. It would feel very improper. They've got things handled most of the time, and if they aren't in pain, he doesn't need to worry. Would consult wasteland doctors if he felt they were legit, get their opinion, but Codsworth isn't the type to micromanage.

Curie; Worried mama hen. Curie would hover and possibly overstep. She means well, but if you don't want help with something, and don't need it, someone insisting they help is very 🙃🙃🙃. This is the first time I've used emojis in a react, only because I cannot describe the emotion those ones convey. Anyway. Curie would look into motor skills disabilities/in general in hopes of finding a way to remedy their struggles, make things easier. Some people might appreciate it, others would feel really patronized.

Danse; Would send them to Cade every time they returned to the Prydwen, just to check up on things. Obviously can't so that post BB. Danse has probably seen this before as well, but since he'd be traveling with them, he'd see it more and in different ways. Small corridor and they can't walk straight? His power armor is huge and lacks agility. They're bumping into each other. This would be an exercise in spacial awareness for him.

Deacon; one of the more worried ones. They're both spies. They need to be sneaking. You need to be able to move straight, pick locks, quickly type on keyboards. He's pleasantly surprised to see that Sole is still good at what they do, but there's always a little part of him waiting for that Chekov's Gun to go off. Also tends to hover around them, especially in hostile areas.

Gage; Don't let anyone know they have this issue and Gage is fine. Raiders will sniff that kind of thing out and get dollar signs for eyes. Hancock; Takes him...so long to notice. Not because he's high, he just fully doesn't realize it. He spends time around alcoholics and chemheads. Like Cait, that's just...normal for him? Hancock will offer help with some things, and still not notice what kind of help he's actually providing. He'll realize out of the blue one day and barge into the room asking if they have problems, just to make sure he's right.

MacCready; As long as he's the sniper, there's no reason to worry. If they start eyeing scopes to add to their guns, he might sweat a little. If they're a pickpocket type, he's just sweating. Pickpocket, sweating bullets. This would turn MacCready off crime, watching them try to sneak whatever from someone's pocket, when just three minutes ago, they had to bite their bag's zipper. Leave the precision stuff to him. Please. Please for the love of god.

Nick; Look at either of his hands. He probably doesn't have such great motor skills there, either, purely because he's just so old and banged up. This is a major source of bonding. Nick is the least likely to have any worry or concern for them; he gets around fine, so can they.

Preston; Second longest to notice. Faster than Hancock, but it still long enough for him to wonder if they were always like that, or if they're injured in some way. His concern comes before combat—they fight just fine, its the getting ready. Flicking their safety off, getting the gun out, reloading. Preston tends to go in front, so they have some time to prepare before they get into the action.

Piper; Like Preston, worries about transitional periods. Downtime, they're fine, firefight, they're fine. But those little moments in between, oooh, does Piper worry. Piper will keep count of how many bullets they use and let them know to reload, switch to something else, etc. Basically tracks all the info around, gets it to them so they have a few extra seconds to think and fiddle with whatever they have to.

X6-88; They are forbidden from heights. They are to remain at least ten feet away from more than a three-foot drop. Area too small? Understood, we're not going there, we're leaving. No, I don't care who asked for what. X6-88 hates heights as is. Someone pirouetteing their way off an edge is not happening. He truly does not care about anything else. Can't open things? Whatever. Bad with precision? Whatever. You can't walk straight, you are not going near ladders, bridges, scaffolding, cliffs, maybe even stairs if he thinks they're too tall.

First of all, we finally reunited with old Moon…BY GOD, DID I MISS THIS SNARKY BASTARD- I am so happy, to see him again!!! He's so nonchalant and blunt, especially towards people outside of his family- It makes me so nostalgic!! His similarlities to Eclipse are clearer than ever, honestly!

Everything about it just makes me so emotional, I can't even begin to describe it-

He's on that same old beach where he gave up his life, the same old beach where he showed empathy and compassion more than ever before, the same damn old beach where he was the more selfless than he'd ever been- It is making me sick to my stomach/pos

He still loathes himself so much, still looks down on himself and his mistakes. He has never been able to let go of it, he'll always hold on to the mistakes he made. One of these mistakes is leaving a part of his code behind, which in turn created Eclipse. His hatred for him comes from the hatred of himself, because Eclipse is the embodiment of everything he hated in himself.

But even though he hates himself, even though he buried himself underneath a mountain of mistakes, he will never regret protecting his family. He has always been a big brother, always been a protector, no matter what! Even after everything, they are the only thing on his mind. I'm going to fucking cry, man-

God, he adores them so much! Everytime he talked about them, I teared up!

He adores and treasures Sun with all of his heart, and only wishes for him to be safe and sound and happy! He knows his brother, knows he's blaming himself, and wants so badly to put a stop to it! But he can't, because that would involve a conversation, and he cannot bare to hurt him more than he already has.

He wants to thank Monty, who has been his emotional support, his best friend. Old Moon is anti-social, apathetic towards anyone outside of his family, even another version of himself, yet Monty got through to him, time and time again. Monty, in their own right, was family too! The two of them always got each other out of the gutter.

God, when he talked about Lunar and Earth, I legit started to cry a little-

He always wanted a sister. He always wanted a little brother. He wished he could've met them, wished he could've gotten to know them, wished to have loved them as much as he loved Sun!

He did know Lunar, but he never had the chance to truly get to know them. Everything he said about them is honestly just so sweet, and shows old Moon beyond his shell.

They were just a kid in a shitty situation, made with a purpose they never wanted.

Old Moon has a hard time caring for others, yet he looked at this child, who needed help and guidance, and took them underneath his wing without hesitation. Tragically, though, he always kept his distance. I don't think, he quite saw, how much they looked up to him. He always kept them at arms length, because he had hurt one brother, and was afraid to hurt another, afraid to open his heart. Yet, despite this distance, he would've ripped Eclipse apart for what he did, without mercy.

God, I can only imagine what his dynamic with everyone would've been like, especially with Earth, who is so incredibly different from him!

Old Moon is such an intriguing character to look at! Especially with how obviously different he is from New Moon!

I want to analyze him so bad, but my brain just won't cooperate👀

I'm really glad, New Moon got his reassurance though, and even learned from Old Moon, it seems!

Now, as for MGAFS….NO, GOD NO, PLEASE EVERYTHING BUT THIS-

During Vaggie and Charlie's visit to Heaven, I don't think there was anything indicating that the city had a beach or anything like an ocean like where we saw Lilith at the end of S1. Granted, we didn't explore ALL of Heaven, obviously, but it still makes me wonder. Is Lilith really staying in Heaven? I wonder if maybe she's actually being housed on Earth, or specifically in Eden, Adam's former domain on Earth. 'Cuz Lute didn't say that Lilith was staying in Heaven as part of her deal with Adam. What do you think?

I love being asked about things Hazbin related. Thank you! Sorry it took a week for me to answer, I been legit sick for a a solid month now from a cold. The lingering coughing hasn't been dreadful but the pure exhaustion I feel (While working too) just left me completely drained. I wanted to answer you while Im feeling at least moderately alive.

Before the question I didn't really put too much thought about Lilith location. I took it as point blank, Lute approached Lilith is lounging in Heaven.

I do like the idea of it being Eden but I am force to lean on the end scene is Heaven for a number of reasons.

From the same universe, Helluvah Boss, it basically a big no-no to go on Earth. On certain beings are allowed (or meant to, it get bypassed) to travel on Earth. I sincerely doubt an exterminator Angel or ANY sinner would be able to free move between realms to Earth. Sinners, had their chance on Earth, there's no return. Exterminators have a very specific purpose, so I doubt they would be granted any access as well.

If we look pass that however, and Eden has some cloaking and impassable shield surrounded it in a way to preserve it from further intreation of humans, similar but not really to a pocket dimension .....maaaaybe. Maybe Lilith gets a pass as she was created and made to be there. I can low key seeing being a gilded cage to keep her in resulting in a deal that was made.

But I'm incline its an unexplored off screen Heaven the viewer didn't get to see. Heaven is meant to cater eternal happiness reward for the pure souls. Some souls really love the beach so there's got to be some beaches for those souls to find eternal peace in.

-I personally dislike the beach unless its at night. My Irish heritage fair skin cant handle the direct sunlight with no natural shade to retreat in.

The main evidence its Heaven in my opinion is the skyline. It's the same we see when meeting St. Peter. The same pastel coloring and mainly the beams of arching light that look structural-?

Granted, if the 'structural' beams of light are a way to cloak from human eyes or just Heavenly dimension, it isn't a stretch that they may surround Eden too. I really like the Eden idea....its like full circle thing, Everything started in Eden so it be fun that it gets more involvement. I don't think that's the case, but I hope it is despite that.

Now, the question is, was it Lilith that Lute was truly speaking to. That lies the question. I keep flip flopping if its Eve or if it is in fact Lilith. It isn't too far fetched that Eve would be near idental, taking over Lilith role as Adam wife. Eve would be very motivated to make a deal to be heaven when being tricked into performing the first sin, making her a sinner. Eve actually playing the role as Adam wife, I can see Adam took pity on her and plead her case. Or even hide her himself in what you you guess, Eden. It would be perfect. As Lute put it, "Adam dead, your deal is done." Which can be taken in multiple ways including that Lilith had a deal wanting Adam dead. But to fit in this scenario, it was Adams deal with her. Not Heavens. 'Lilith' didn't really react to Lute as she spoke, sitting still and listening. We we saw her face she was rather impassive. She only shown reaction-displeasure when Lute said the name Lilith. The way Lute said Lilith seemed a little too empshised. Which may be for the audience if they somehow missed all the Lilith portrayed to realized the new character is. OR its Lute putting emphasis to alert Eve on the upcoming role she needs to play to continue her deal with Lute.

I'm still undecided if its Lilith or Eve. The necklace in the end threw me off. I didn't know why by I way hyper focused on it on my first watch from some reason. I guess my subconscious realized Lilith is always shown to wear pearls (I need to rewatch it to see all the portraits have the pearls or the black diamond necklace. It seem the show purposely wouldn't let us see her hands to determine if there was a wedding ring or not.

The whole ending scene really threw things in the air.

I find Eve lack involvement in the universe so far very suspicious. I think she will be a very key figure coming up. I also think Adam will be revive as a sinner and still play a major role.

The whole lack of Lilith and Eve (and Roo which I believe is the big bad and Alastor contractor)whereabouts is suspicious and its going to hit us hard. Adam is involved in it. I fairly certain he the one that proposed the idea of exterminations. Like, why was Heaven so concern about an uprising? WHO brought that idea to their heads?Seriously, that been bothering me ALOT. I'm positive the first man was manipulated to mull on that idea and nudge to bring that proposal to Sera after something happening in Hell that was orchestrated to make it look like unrest and uprising in Heaven eyes.

The same group of people (Eve, Adam, Lilith, Alastor {Lucifer and Charlie, Heaven involved being puppeted}) is basically trying to puppeteer each other trying to pull the strings, as much as they try gain control, but in reality they are just playing right into Roo plan.

I am so rambling, because that's what I do. I need to rewatch the series to confirm some of these thoughts with clues. I'm sure there many plot holes what I rambled so far. I'm usually multitasking when I rewatch so I forget to look for my little clues.

If the ending scene is in fact Lilith, I am certain she didn't leave to willingly but is some type of hostage to an agreement. I think Lucifer knows whats up too. (His wife in Heaven! Ha!) He seem way to tentative and hesitant speaking to Charlie on the phone about meeting up with Heaven while looking at the family portrait. As in, He was backed into a corner and basically had to agree with Heaven in a newer deal that they kept Lilith hostage (but she be taken care of, promise! where Heaven!) but Charlie can remain with him. He to nervous to have another meeting that involved his daughter who kept in the dark about the deal that caused Lilith absence.

Never once we hear that Lilith is "Missing, gone, divorced" Especially from Lucifer. Just that Heaven took everything from him and Charlie all he had left.

Side note, I love how everything Lucifer said in episode 5 came true. He was right about Heaven not listening. In a smaller easier to miss part. In "More than Anything." he sange "In the end, I won't lose it all again, you are the only thing worth fighting for." He kept that promise by showing up to save Charlie in battle and fighting for her.

The only time Lilith absence is Charlie saying "She off doing something important I'm sure." (Fulfilling a corherced bargain to insure Charlie safety perhaps?)

She did mention that her dad and mom split. But that can be her assumption or something Lucifer said to explain things easier to a much younger Charlie and he already blamed himself for failing Lilith and having her absent in their lives. Or maybe Lucifer said and meant it literally"Your mother is separated from us." but young Charlie just took "separated" as in Lilith marriage with Lucifer. And Lucifer just rolled with it. But Lucifer still clearly love Lilith with still having that ring on his finger and I think Lilith is still in love with Lucifer. They are just literally separated by realms not in marriage.

I think I rambled way more then what you asked for. Ha! apologies I hope its somewhat coherent and not jumbled like they are in my brain and was at least found interesting.

comparing Brother Bear with TBT since their Both movies about Brotherhood and also Brother Bear just Randomly popped into my head again today.

I've loved Brother Bear for years I think its a very underrated Disney movie with nice songs cute characters and a cute story.

and I randomly started thinking about it earlier and then started comparing it to TBT since their both strongly focused on Brotherhood.

and I realised that for some reason Brother Bear doesn't bother me as much as TBT does even tho it technically has many of the same faults.

it Rushes over the interesting character Drama and it Rushes a conclusion to said Drama between the Brothers at the end.

like the scene in the main film of Kenai confessing to Koda is still fairly sad but its massively undercut by having the song play over it.

the deleted version of that scene where the song doesn't play and we get to hear the full version of Kenai's confession and Koda's reaction is available on youtube and its way more heart-breaking imo.

which I guess is why they didn't go with that version since it would have maybe been a bit too much for young kids.

but the movie also employs the gimmick of having the brothers come back together in the end to fight off a life threatening enemy and all is seemingly forgiven between them straight away afterwards.

I guess one reason why BB doesn't bother me as much as TBT is that Kenai actually grows throughout the film despite wronging Koda in a massive way.

and Koda forgiving him too quickly in the ending is not as bothersome because we didn't see Kenai mistreat him the entire film up until the point he found out.

and he didn't then proceed to hurt him again in arguably just as bad a way as he did before like Bro zone did.

instead Kenai did grow in the film and he and Koda already had a healthy relationship prior to the reveal and later confession.

plus what they had throughout the film was genuine sibling banter it wasn't one sided like Bro zone's interactions were with Branch where it was basically just them treating him like a kid and not taking his Valid feelings seriously.

and when Kenai confesses to Koda he's a lot more openly remorseful and tries to go after him to make things right Bro zone just get a brief 4 second shot of them feeling bad and then the movie moves on.

not to mention the climax of BB involves Kenai making a sacrifice for Koda first off he puts his own life in danger in order to save him from his Brother Denahi. and at the very end he makes a big sacrifice ( staying as a Bear so he can stay with him even tho it means leaving behind his human life and not being able to openly communicate with his family )

which somewhat works as an act of love and redemption whereas the climax of TBT involves Bro zone being forced to work together in order to save their own lives as well as the life of the Bro who none of them wronged all that much tbh.

it doesn't really work as a first step towards them redeeming themselves and fixing their family because its kinda selfish and it didn't involve them really making any sort of personal sacrifice or even that much effort.

ya know its funny I just thought I'd make this post as a Random little thought since that's all this was I didn't actually expect to talk in depth and compare the movies stories this much lol.

I just started typing and got carried away 😂😂😂😂😂😂

anyway in short I love Brother Bear its a very adorable film and while its far from perfect in how it handles its story its flaws don't stop me from enjoying it.

since it still handled the more important parts of the story well enough.

unlike with Trolls 3 best thing I can say about it is that the movie version of "" Better Place "" is a legit great little song and frankly its too good for this film.

the story didn't earn such an emotional music piece in my opinion.

It's just rude how I have yet to see a Now You See Me! Six of Crows AU.

NO BUT WAIT, WAIT. Bear with me. The Crows as illusionists and magicians brought together to create elaborate performances that may or may not be a way to extract revenge on a few people (Jan, Heleen, and Pekka, we're looking at you) and steal a lot of money in the process. The group could be either formed by Kaz himself, or like in the movie, they're brought together by a mysterious individual for a job (in this, it could be Jan to commit the equivalent of the Ice Court Heist, until the Crows turn back on him).

Like. Imagine. Kaz would definitely be an amazing escape artist and the master mind of the operations. He would have the best sleight of hand ever. With his flair for dramatics, I think he would also be a great performer, and have a whole "character" for the show: you know, Dirtyhands, with his all black clothes, raspy voice, dry wit, slight smirk, scary monologues and taunts. He's not even pretending, really, but it works really well on stage, and the public loves it, loves when he's taunting them, and legit creeping them out.

Inej would be into the escape thing as well, and she would love the tricks where she vanishes and then apparates in a different corner of the room, or just behind someone in the audience (they wouldn't even notice until one the Crows points it out or Inej taps them on the shoulder. The number of times they almost had to call an ambulance because she legit gives them heart attacks). I feel like she would also be a contortionist who's able to fit in small boxes and cupboards, to the point where you start to ask yourself if she even has bones. She would incorporate acrobatics in her performances.

Jesper would love flashy tricks with cards, coins, and so on. I know that sleight of hand is more Kaz's thing in the book, but I feel like it would suit him well, too. Kind of like the Jack Wilder of the group. He would do tricks with guns, bullets and shooting, of course. Also, I feel like he would be the one the Crows rely on to distract the crowd, to catch, hold, and redirect their attention where it's needed. Kaz is good at that, too, but Jesper is really the one who can put them at ease and charm them (especially if it's a single person or a few they call on stage).

Wylan would handle technical aspects: light, flash bombs, smoke bombs, fireworks, visual and sound effects, music and sound, material, etc. I think he would know exactly what type of soundtrack and light to choose to create maximum effect and efficiently hold/distract the crowd's attention. I don't see him as a main performer, but I think there would be one memorable occasion where he would "blow himself up" or set fire to himself on stage and then reapparate, completely fine. It remains one of the Crows' most watched performances.

Nina would definitely be the Merritt McKinney of the group. She would be all about hypnosis and mentalism, and I know that real-life hypnotism doesn't work like it's portrayed in the movie, but let's just pretend. With her knowledge of anatomy and medicine (she could be an ex med student or nurse), she would know exactly how to use the human body, mind, and blood flow to her advantage – it would be a nice parallel to her canon powers. She knows how to gather information from her targets, is amazing at subtle interrogation, and she, too, would be very good at charming the crowd (her and Jesper as a the sexiest bi duo ever). Also, I think she would fight tooth and nail to incorporate a dramatic quick change sequence on stage. ("Nina, we don't need that." "Shut up, Kaz, you don't understand, I have been waiting my entire LIFE for this moment").

I admit, I have trouble deciding what Matthias would do in this universe. Like Wylan, I don't see him as a main performer, I think he would remain more in the shadows and act as an assistant to the others (catching Inej, helping Nina change, setting Wylan's material, etc.). If the Crows need animals for their show, he's definitely the one to take care of them. However, in the books, he is our guys' main source of information on the Ice Court, and I feel like in a modern au, he would parallel this: he would be the one tasked with research on the Mark, digging up everything about them, their background, family, habits, the lay outs of a place the Crows intend to rob, etc.

Or alternatively: Matthias is their inside man in the FBI. This would work even better, I think. So yes, he's the Dylan Rhodes of the AU, minus the revenge.

So I have this feeling that after the contents of a very rude note precipitated one of the most traumatic events in Xue Yang's life, learning to read became one of the Delinquent of Kuizhou's priorities in life. What are your thoughts on how he got this education? Seems like something he'd need to have under his belt to be the prime candidate for Jin Sect demonic cultivator, or did he just speed run it on entry?

So first off it is so important to me that Xue Yang is a legit genius. That being said, I actually don't know that he could learn to read until he had some kind of a stable situation (i.e. at Jinlintai); I think he might be able to figure out enough to read important or simple things based on context etc. I think he speed ran it on entry, and probably with surprising speed.

The fun thing about Xue Yang other than all the other fun things is the contrast between how smart he is and the fact that he easily comes off to people as (a) a feckless young man with no manners or (b) something beastly and violent. The aura of delinquent that hangs around him even after he's "gone legit" (which, I think, is at least a little bit intentional) means it's very easy for gentry to write him off, the way people sometimes associate "lower class" with "stupid." So when he's not...I think it sometimes catches people off guard.

(Not Jin Guangyao. I think Jin Guangyao meets Xue Yang and pretty quickly clocks him as being smarter than people give him credit for.)

Given Xue Yang's volatile temper, though, and the fact that he's not exactly the most patient of students, I can imagine that finding him a teacher that can deal with him is not always easy. Which is why I invite you to imagine Jin Guangyao (who seems to be fairly good at handling him) being the person whose responsibility it ends up being to make sure his father's new pet demonic cultivator is educated (enough).

I feel like he wouldn't completely hate it. I can imagine there might actually be something kind of nice about being the knowledgeable one with a student who is genuinely very eager to learn. And Jin Guangyao is very good at not making the mistake I think a lot of people make with Xue Yang, and avoiding treating him with anything that might even look like condescension.

Xue Yang's ability to read is probably still a little patchy and irregular, and reading anything complicated or with bad handwriting would probably be a challenge. But he's very proud of his newfound literacy nonetheless.

Aaron: Any signs of betrayal, if he would be able to find legit proof of someone not being loyal to him, he'd very quickly call it quits. Also all kinds of keeping secrets, if he'd notice that his partner is not honest with him and hiding things, their true feelings, or getting lied to in general, Aaron probably wouldn't be able to handle it, and surely break off the relation.

Vale: Well, a TON of things tbh, no matter how minor, or even if it absolutely doesn't make any sense, he's able to find lots of reasons to break up. About legit reasons, probably whenever he's feeling trapped in the relationship, or restricted in his freedom. Besides that, also if he'd feel neglected, or that his partner spends too much time with other people, he's a pretty jealous person! Even if he'd never admit it.

Emilio: If he isn't feeling the love back. Whenever he thinks that he's not taken seriously, whether with his feelings, interests, or general stuff that occupies his thoughts. Also if his partner would talk about, or compare him too much with their ex, that is a pretty quick dealbreaker to him. Or if they don't share the same vision of family planning, such relationships he might tolerate for a while, but they're surely not future proof.

Julinemo Week, Day 2: Battle

"You…"

The impromptu crowd flooding Mesagoza fell silent. Their formerly-youngest Champion, the incomparable, unrivaled prodigy, had yet to uncover her face after the blast of Tera Shards being shattered off of her strongest Pokemon and strewn across the plaza. She had been defeated. By another kid, no less. She could be defeated.

… Was she crying?

"Nemona…?"

The victor -- as well as the Director and the Top Champion in the crowd -- all started to step toward her with concern written on their faces, when…

"YOU DID IT!!! This is legit incredible! You’re the strongest out there, Juliana!" Nemona suddenly roared. The relieved audience resumed their cheers as Nemona rapidly closed the rest of the distance to Juliana, holding up her shaking, clenched fists like she was barely restraining herself from launching onto the rooftops like a rocket.

Juliana giggled with a proud, toothy smile. In another timeline, she could've easily flinched and backed away from Nemona's overwhelming energy, but not this one. "Hehehe, thank--"

"I mean, you knocked me flat, and I was… giving you absolutely EVERYTHING I had! Everything I… I… Ha haaa! Hahaha! Oh man. Pokémon battling, am I right??? It’s so much better, so much more fun than I ever even knew! Man! Hahaha! Haaah... hoo..." Nemona continued to enthuse, sounding like she was nearly hyperventilating.

"Y-yeah, that was a lotta fun! I'm glad I finally got to see what you're like without holding yourself back for my sake."

"… Heh! And I'm so super proud of you for bein' able to handle it! Now I've got a real challenge to overcome again! It's like you've… like… given me back the thing I loved most! But uh… heh, I guess that's just kinda what you do, though, isn't it?"

"Mmm, I guess so, huh?" Juliana had to agree. It was true, this was at least the third new friend whose Treasure Report she was very likely to end up in that semester, at the expense of her sleep schedule. "Well… I wouldn't be here without you, either. I might've never known I could do something like this, if you didn't... take me under your wing and believe in me."

"Aww. Well, I might've had an ulterior motive, heh heh… but that sparkle in your eyes during our first battle was your own! I can't make you love something if you didn't already! Believe me, I've tried. I mean, why else would you go all the way to the top, huh?"

"… To see you this happy?" Juliana offered.

"Heh! Good one! Put 'er there, rival!" Nemona said as she offered her hand to shake, which Juliana took and held firmly as if she was being helped to stand up. "Now I gotta think about what Pokemon to bring for round two!" the council president declared, eliciting some facepalms from Geeta and Clavell. "Decisions, decisions…"

Juliana side-eyed those two but didn't point them out to Nemona. "No, really, I mean it."

"Mean what now sorry?" Nemona blurted out quickly, snapping her attention back to the present.

"I never gave up any of the times I was tempted to on my Gym Challenge, 'cause… I wanted you to share your favorite thing in the world with me. 'Cause… I imagined how happy you'd be right now, and didn't think anything would make ME happier than seeing that."

"… Jules, I-- Don't make me cry in fronta all these people, c'mon!"

Juliana smiled sheepishly. "Sorry!"

Nemona responded with a hearty laugh and a tight hug. "Hahaha! Man… I think YOU'RE my favorite thing in the world, actually."

"Aww. Best treasures?"

"Best treasures."

More "awws" could be heard from the crowd at that, even if they couldn't hear all of what was being said... as well as the sound of an old man bawling uncontrollably.

I feel like people are being nit-picky and lumping in any and all criticism because shes been on a pedestal for a while and her fans would seek out people who don’t like her to start fights so this slight downfall (shes a rich white women well versed in crocodile tears she will be fine) is an opportunity for any and all grievances. Like when your friend breaks up with someone and you lump in petty complaints like “they chew too loud” with the legit grievances like “they shouldn’t have yelled at grandma”.

no exactly, i think for a lot of people voicing their opinion about tswift rn, they've been bottling up all of their negative opinions for so long because they thought they'd have to deal with backlash from her fans, so now that it is suddenly publicly acceptable to criticise her, they are taking it as carte blanche to hate on her for every little thing they don't like about her - either legit like her detrimental effect on the environment and paradoxal place in politics (how can she be both sooo progressive and yet at the same time have no obligation to speak on politics? it's an oxymoron) or petty like how she personally annoys some people by being self-centered and unself-aware, the latter being not on the same level as the former camp of criticisms at all.

to be clear tho, i do not feel bad for tswift for the current backlash. i do think there are many different choices she could have made and actions she could have taken to cultivate a healthier fanbase, that would have made it possible for her to avoid the current PR disaster she's in, so as far as i'm concerned this is at least a little bit of her getting her just deserts. i really hope her and her team learn from this moment and start encouraging her to behave like celebrity icons that are secure in their status are supposed to behave. (there are trade offs for celebrity status and being able to gracefully accept criticism - at least publicly - is one of those trade offs, and it's something that will help one maintain longevity. think about the difference in how people view beyonce vs nicki minaj, and what's different about their public image/their fanbases. now think about how tswift actually handles her image and her fans, and tell me who she more resembles.)

but also, as you said, she's a rich and powerful white woman, surrounded and supported by dozens if not hundreds of other rich and powerful white people. she'll be fine, and she'd be fine even if she never appeared in public or released a song ever again.

If Casca had taken up Guts’ offer to leave with him on his endless wandering to be stronger, I legit think that would not have been a good decision.

Miura has spoken before that, despite appearances, Casca and Guts are forever stuck in that stage people are in before they really fall in love. I can understand what he means because I feel that they never did leave the honeymoon phase of their relationship, still swept up in the bliss of getting together and the excitement of busting Griffith out of jail.

Even if Griffith was magically okay, mentally stable enough to let them both go, I don’t really think it would have worked out very well for either of them. Casca’s been hanging on to Griffith’s every word for about half her life and suddenly changing all that with Guts, without the companionship she was used to would have been a hurdle to handle. The decision to just dump everything she’s known and join Guts would seem like a romantic honeymoon act which would lose its luster after the euphoria’s died down.

That’s not even mentioning the biggest hurdle, aka, Griffith. Like, I maintain that Guts thrived as much as he did while by himself because he thought Griffith was okay on his own and they’ll meet again as equals in the distant future. If he knew that he wasn’t okay, that Griffith does need him by his side, he’d be much too distracted to swing his sword around and get stronger. Same with Casca. He is just too integral of a part in their lives to just ignore.

I think there's a couple of perspectives on this and as usual I'm sort of a fence-sitter. Like I know a lot of people think they would've had a fairy tale power couple adventuring thing going on if they'd left together and I also know a lot of people think they would've ultimately fallen apart because the relationship already had a shaky ground. I think it did have a shaky ground - Guts is pretty clear that he doesn't know for sure whether it's going to work out, and Casca's pretty clear that she's not even sure where her heart really is... it's not like the two of them were ever being rock solid confident that they'd found The One even in their best moments, and they're both still obsessing over Griffith the whole time... so yeah, it may very well have been unsustainable long term. At the same time, I'm also aware that sometimes relationships end up doing well despite having dodgy beginnings.

My main lazyass outlook on this is that we don't know whether they would have been one of those couples or one of the couples who can't get it together because they were never able to find out. And because they never find out whether they were truly compatible long-term or what they could've/would've/should've been, Guts is forever stuck with a what if without any answer.

Now that's all fence-sitting. What I actually think is:

If Griffith's state was as it is in canon...

-If they stayed with the Hawks, they would have fallen apart because they'd both prioritize Griffith over each other (and themselves). This IMO is pretty clear just from canon. In this case, I see a kind of prolonged relationship with diminishing investment until it just kind of fades away.

-If they left anyway, they would have fallen apart because they'd both feel like shit and be too worried about Griffith to concentrate. In this case, I see a lot of unspoken guilt and resentment toward each other because they'd blame each other (and themselves) for making each other (and themselves) leave Griffith that way.

If Griffith were in a recoverable state, though, things get more interesting to me.

-If they stayed with the Hawks, they would have fallen apart because they both just like Griffith more than each other, IDK what else to say about it. They were only able to get together because of his absence, and if they were hanging around him all the time, that absence is negated, and they'd just fall back into fixating on him -this seems pretty strongly supportable because they were already heading down that road before they found him, and thus before they knew what had been done to him. In this case I kind of feel like they'd just end up sliding back into being friends.

-if they left, I think that would be the best chance they'd have at a successful relationship. Because at this point they'd both given up on Griffith, and he's fine so they're not distracted by worrying about him and could focus on each other and their goals (or, well, Guts' goal). I don't think this is a guaranteed success, but it's the only path I see leading to a success for their relationship.

The wildcard is what... Griffith does. Because if we're talking about an alternate canon where Griffith is rescued early, or just not as badly done by as he was in canon, then he's already ruined his shot at marrying Charlotte and inheriting Midland. So what's he going to do next? He could go to another country and start buttering up another princess, but given his internal monologue in the dungeon I suspect he'd be more likely to try and grapple with his feelings about Guts in which case the entire gameboard changes. I mean for one thing, the "if they left" option would probably be wiped off the map.
