So, some people may have noticed this but I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to bring attention to it and I wanted people to just assume it was someone theorizing. But it appears someone from my ex friend circle whom I had trusted with certain details of how Discord Whooves would end decided to stoop to a lower than low level and ruin the ending for anyone who stumbled on their posts that had been made on a blog made specifically to post spoilers and tag them with common tags Discord Whooves uses. I’m sure it was out of sheer spite towards me and the people who dared to support my work.

Saying bad things about me and things I’ve done and said, okay that’s justifiable. But going out of their way to take something I once trusted them with because I thought we were close friends, and then throwing it out for the world to see out of revenge against me and anyone following me? That’s just petty, immature, and a really low blow to make. Even if I really hated someone, I would never reveal their harmless secrets to the world just to get back at them. There’s a chance to be the better person, and at least have some code of ethics to know when it’s going too far. I deserved to be called out. I didn’t deserve to have my 12 years of work undermined by a vindictive person who can’t move forward, and my fans didn’t deserve it either because they are not even involved in this drama.

There is a point where revenge goes too far and one crosses over into just being villainously cruel.

It’s sad, and really pathetic that someone thinks they have to do everything in their power to screw me over in some way instead of trying to actually recover and get past the point of obsession over wanting to get back at me all the time.

I’m sorry the whole world isn’t against me like you want it to be. I’m sorry a lot of people believe in recovery and the fact that I feel terrible enough already about my shitty actions in the past and am doing everything in my power to avoid anything like that happening ever again. I’m sorry I’m not being bombarded by hoards of angry people calling me names and telling me to kill myself. I’m sorry my feeling horrible isn’t enough to satiate you and all you want is to see me suffer.

It’s been years now. YEARS. For the sake of your own mental well being, just cut me out of your life completely and stop obsessing over me. You already won. I am constantly in a state of panic thinking of this shit and how else it’s going to come and bite me in the ass. I lost the comic website I depended on, I’ve lost a huge chunk of my readership and no longer really have my ‘popular’ status. (very rarely get fan art, not being bombarded by asks constantly, no longer receive fan mail, original projects aren’t catching on very well) Selling commissions has gotten increasingly more difficult. My insomnia is worse than ever and I have to take heavy duty sedatives just to sleep because my mind won’t stop spiraling about this stuff. I cannot go a single day without feeling guilt, regret, self hatred, and doubt and wishing hopelessly that I just never did those things. I have severe trust issues and have almost no one I can feel comfortable enough sharing anything personal or story related with which was just made even WORSE by these recent actions, and I haven’t been able to form new bonds with anyone in years either.

I know I hurt you badly, I know what I did was incredibly wrong and irresponsible, and I don’t know how it’s affected you over the years but this rage and anger is not good for anyone. I don’t hate you. I just want you to be able to move on and learn to be healthy and happy and no longer stuck thinking about me and how much you hate me and want me to fall. I don’t want to be hurting you by just existing and trying to move on with my own life, and I wish there was something- ANYTHING I could do to bring you peace.

But the only one who can ultimately bring you peace is yourself. So you can keep on trying to claw and bite and drag me down with you, or you could be the better person and try to just move forward and put the past in the past where it belongs.

I’m not mad. I’m just incredibly disappointed. I would have thought you were better than this, but I was wrong. I was wrong to ever even trust you as a friend, and I wish we were never friends to begin with, or even ever met, and I’m sure you feel the same way.

Hello! This is a new blog. I’m still figuring out the details.

I’ve been a star trek fan my whole life - it started with getting in trouble in kindergarten for staying up to watch late night tos reruns, and I watched all of tos, ds9, and voy as they aired. I tried ent when it first aired and didn’t care for it. Later as part of a project to watch all episodes in in-world chronology, I did watch all of ent. Still didn’t care for it. But it is trek. I watch all new trek, and for the most part I love it (pauses to side-eye Picard season three), but don’t have the same knowledge base with it because I haven’t rewatched it as many times. I’ve seen all of the movies but I honestly just tend to forget them when I’m thinking about what’s happened in cannon. I think they live in a separate part of my brain? I haven’t read the books or comics yet but I do spend a lot of time on Memory Beta.

Right now I’m rewatching lower decks & tos and that’s what I have on my mind.

Anyway, this is all to say that I plan to be inclusive with all star trek media on this blog, but not everything will get equal attention. There are just some things I know more about or am more interested in.

In particular, there are a limited number of options in tumblr polls, and there is a lot of star trek media out there. I make sure to put “other in tags”, or combine titles in a choice, in cases where every item can’t have its own little box. Yes sometimes my personal opinions influence how I break that up, and that’s ok, because this is something I do in my free time for fun.

You are very welcome to submit polls & posts. If you do, and I repost them, I’ll credit you unless you prefer to stay anonymous. Btw - this is how you can get more content around your favorite series if you’re not seeing as much as you’d like.

Right now I don’t have any rules about submissions. It’s possible I won’t post something that’s clearly prejudiced, malicious etc… but I haven’t figured out exactly where I draw that line yet. I don’t plan to gatekeep what is and isn’t trek. I have personal opinions about what I enjoy and what I don’t enjoy, but star trek belongs to everyone and it’s illogical to try to draw lines around what is “legitimate” trek for everyone.

I haven’t really figured out what to say about trigger warnings, spoilers, and nsfw. I don’t plan for this to be especially nsfw, but I do plan to cuss and touch on adult concepts sometimes (I mean how can we not talk about the many forehead vaginas). I also plan to add content/ trigger warnings that are obvious to me but I’m far from an expert about what the most important ones to include are. And finally spoilers are hard because most star trek media has been around forever and the fandom is here to talk about what happened in it, but some is brand new and it can be hard to stay completely caught up, and even the oldest series are new to someone. So I’m making an effort to consider triggering content, spoilers, and nsfw but can’t responsibly make promises on any of them.

And last but not least, I’m happy to block people who call me names. I’m here on my free time for fun.

Hermitdragons AU Masterpost

(Aka brief hermitcraft but mostly third life/wings of fire AU)

Welcome to my wings of fire AU! This story takes place in the wof universe using history from the first ten books, but very little prior knowledge is needed to read! Everything you need to know will be included in this post.

Wings of Fire Important Context

Dragon tribes are separated into several different species: Nightwings, Skywings, Rainwings, Mudwings, Icewings, and Seawings. I highly recommend looking up the species descriptions, but it isn't super necessary, most are intuitive.

Most necessary is that Nightwings, when born under a full moon, can be given one of two powers; mind reading or future sight. Mind readers have special teardrop scales by their eyes.

There’s also animus magic, an extremely rare power any dragon tribe can possess. All you need to know about animus magic is that it has literally no limits, but it is rumored that using it too much can make you lose your soul. That last part probably won't be too relavent though.

Main Ways To Interact

The main story is being written down on AO3! You can read it here, but if you don’t want to dive into a novel length fic, the main story will be summarized below.

Starting now, information below contains major spoilers for the official fic.

Characters and Designs

most character designs are very subject to change, the only consistent designs as of right now are Grian, Scar, and Martyn

Grian (Nightwing disguised as a Skywing) - Animus dragon born to a group of Nightwings who used his magic to make themselves gods called the Nightwatchers. Using this power, all other Nightwings and animus dragons were murdered. Grian is extremely sheltered, and after finally being able to attend school, he ends up telling Scar some Nightwatcher secrets. As punishment, he and many classmates are put into a death game. Can read minds.

Scar (Rainwing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. Thanks to the information given by Grian, he ends up setting off a chain of events that leads to Martyn’s capture. These memories are erased before the death game. Partnered with Grian in the death game, trying to convince him to turn against the Nightwatchers.

Martyn (Seawing with distant Nightwing heritage) - Raised in a deep sea Listener cult and prophesized to be able to defeat the Nightwatchers. Due to [SPOILERS] he is immune to Nightwing powers and resists the affects of animus magic. Only found out because of Scar’s unprotected mind figuring out what he was doing. Put in the death game in an attempt to figure out how he was able to hide for so long. Blind. Can read minds. Did not attend school.

Ren (Mudwing/Icewing hybrid) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. Partnered with Martyn in the death game. After finding out that Martyn believes the death game is a form of capital punishment for him specifically, Ren is determined to make sure Martyn wins, in a hope they won’t permanently kill him.

Scott (Seawing/Rainwing hybrid) - Martyn’s friend from before the death game. Born in a separate Listener cult than Martyn, where he learned strategies to protect his mind from mind readers. Quite talented at it! Partnered with Jimmy in the death game.

Pearl (Icewing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. I literally forgot she wasn’t in third life so uh. She’s here now. Hanging in the crastle!

BigB (Seawing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm.

Skizz (Skywing) - doesn’t play a big role

Tango (Sandwing) - guys I have no idea what he did in third life but he’s not relevant here jbJdhdjd

Cleo (???) - doesn’t play a big role

Bdubs (Rainwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Joel (Sandwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Jimmy (normal ass human) - the Nightwatchers put him in the death game as a joke. Granted the ability to speak with dragons and nothing else. Will get squished like a bug forever.

Etho (Icewing) - doesn’t play a big role

Impulse (Mudwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Story Recap

There are two planned fics, one covering the events of Third Life and prior, and one continuing with Last Life, Double Life, and Limited Life. Future seasons will not be included, as there is already a planned ending.

Book 1 - Ruler of Everything - work in progress

Prologue Chapters - Grian’s hatching and early life before putting his magic into a book for the Nightwatchers to use. He is being manipulated from an early age into the Nightwatcher philosophy.

Chapters 1-6 - After centuries of immortality, Grian longs to experience life as a normal dragon. He has never had anyone his age to play with or talk so, so he asks permission to attend Jade Mountain academy for a semester. His request is accepted. Here he meets Scar, Pearl, Ren, and BigB, his dorm-mates, and has a grand ol time. Just kidding! He’s a disaster with a criminal staring problem! Scar and Pearl in particular help him to acclimate to life with other dragons, and after his entire winglet comes to the conclusion he was raised in a Skywing cult, (which Grian vehemently denies) they give it their all to teach him about normal life.

One problem. Grian can NOT take a hint. After borderline harassing Scar over the Nightwatchers and how cool they are, Scar snaps and Pearl intervenes, pulling Grian aside to yell at him for being an insensitive asshole. The Nightwatchers don’t like that! Grian’s mother attacks and threatens Pearl and takes him out of school for a couple weeks to make sure he stays properly indoctrinated. After he is allowed to return, the entire dorm agrees never to speak about Nightwatchers again.

Well, until the end of the school year that is. After the rest of the dorm leaves, Scar tries to convince Grian to join him in the rainforest and run away from his cult. Fearing what the Nightwatchers would do if he dared try that, but not wanting Scar to believe he’s genuinely a bad dragon, he tells Scar about the Nightwatcher’s animus magic, and what they might do to the Rainwings if they tried to protect him from them. Scar lets him go, a new determination that the Nightwatchers need to be stopped.

Chapters 7-11 - Twenty year pass. Grian grows apathetic towards his years at the academy, and keeps himself busy by watching all the new death games the Nightwatchers are trying out. That is, until he gets put into one. Every dragon involved belonged to the academy except two (Scott and Martyn), and only one dragon knows he’s here against his will. Enter Martyn, a Seawing that Grian quickly learns can read minds. He and Grian briefly fight before Martyn runs away, but they fight again after Grian lets Scar die by snake bite. Because Martyn can read minds, he knows this was done on purpose, but the other dragons separate them before Grian also dies. Martyn tells everyone Grian is a Nightwatcher and everyone thinks he’s crazy <\3 Grian does feel bad though, and tries to make it up to Scar by committing his first life to him. Scar accepts.

Typical third life events. Pizza! Reputation points. Desert tower. Enchanter shenanigans. Uh oh! Scar has fallen into a ravine and died. “Can we still be friends?” In this au, red lives had a magic induced bloodlust that worsens over time, and Scar is really struggling with this at first. Grian says it’s okay :D you’ll like it eventually! Scar is not amused. Ends with Grian convincing Scar to build a trap, and the two of them steal Martyn and Ren’s enchanting table.

Chapters 12-15 - That night, Martyn finds Grian sleeping in the desert, pins and silences him, and demands answers on how to escape the death game. Grian doesn’t have those answers. Martyn realizes that Grian isn’t actually valued by the Nightwatchers, and is basically useless to him. Martyn begins to mock him for this, and Grian escapes his pin, starting a fight that wakes Scar up. Just as Martyn is about kill Grian, Scar distracts him long enough for Grian to breathe fire, weakening Martyn enough for Scar to finish the job.

Grian admits everything to Scar. That he’s a Nightwatcher, was an animus, what he knows of Martyn’s role in everything, and the mind reading. Both dragons believe that Martyn won’t come back to life, but he isn’t immune to animus magic, he only resists it. The healing process is extremely slow and painful. After some time to process, Scar believes that Grian could be a valuable resource for a Nightwatcher rebellion, and is willing to stick with him. Grian is unsure. Once Martyn is revived, Scar walks him back to Dogwarts.

Next morning, Grian and Scar set up the trap, aiming for Ren, not Martyn. They meet, and ally themselves with Scott and Jimmy. The trap ends up killing Jimmy, Skizz, and Ren, and due to some Nightwatcher quirks, the suffering of this whole endeavor drives Grian a little bit nutty. He has a whole laughing thing and everyone is uncomfortable/kind of having the life drained out of them. Martyn stops Grian’s from accidentally hurting anyone else by stopping his breathing, and he and Scar go back. Neither of them are very happy.

Intermission - Martyn POV for the beheading scene. Ren is Not Happy and very afraid he won’t be able to protect them without being red. He gifts Martyn a ceremonial spear to kill him with. Martyn does not want to do this, and confesses he doesn’t think he will be coming back to life after the death game. Ren promises to do everything in his power to make Martyn the winner, but first, he needs to be red. Martyn gives in.

Chapters 17-19 - Scott and Jimmy keep visiting the desert to try and meet with Scar, but only Grian is home the entire day, and they are avoiding him like the plague. After confronting them, Scott forces Grian to leave them alone using the strategies he learned from his upbringing for dealing with mindreaders. Grian asks Scar later why they hate him. Scar says oh yeah they know you’re a Nightwatcher now and think you’re super evil after the laughing thing. Grian is not happy, and lies to Scar so he can meet Scott and Jimmy alone.

Grian surprises/scares shitless Scott and Jimmy the next day. He tries to give them gifts, but forgets where he put them, and Scott tries again to get Grian to leave them alone using his anti mind reader skills. This backfires, as Grian loses himself in Scott’s mind and accidentally lashes out in an attempt to get him to stop. Jimmy, who is red, attacks Grian in retaliation, and after doing considerable damage, is stopped by Grian. The three of them have an actual talk and Scott puts together that the Nightwatchers used Scar to find Martyn, and are trying to use Grian to figure out Martyn’s secrets. Grian commits himself to side against the Nightwatchers, angry with how they have manipulated him and how the lives of his friends and others mean nothing to them.

Then, Scar returns with a Dogwarts shield, running away from Ren, Martyn, and Skizz. Something is very clearly wrong with him. Scar, Scott, and Jimmy make it through the cactus wall (made of explosives in this au) but Grian gets a little trampled, leaving him outside with Ren, Martyn, and Skizz. Scar tells them not to come further, or he will have Grian blow up the cacti wall, killing the four. Everyone is concerned about the fact Scar is commanding Grian to blow himself up. Ren backs down. Scott argues with Scar after, angry with how he was using Grian, but quickly realizes Scar is on the verge of attacking his own allies and pivots to talking him down for that Red Life Rage. Scar has a big breakdown about the whole thing after. Grian comforts him. That is, until the Dogwarts folks start shooting for Pizza. Grian does his best to get to her, but he is too late. Pizza is dead.

I actually have a question, well technically 2?? Okay wasn’t 2, I kept thinking and getting ideas. But!!!

1) Are you okay with your characters, plot, stories etc from your fanfics (mainly HND) being Cosplayed? As in people cosplaying like Berry and Syrup like how on tiktok people did Sans, Edge, Fresh, Coffee etc? You okay with cosplays and reacting scenes? Or possibly even fan made scenes? Or them cosplaying they’re YN/MC or what they would wear in different chapters etc?

2) Is drawings of scenes on tiktok? Or again fanmade scenes? Changes or etc? Is it okay? Or like what if scenes? Or like voice acting said scenes or comics or comic dubs??

3) On said note of drawing; when you do the more spicy scenes, are you okay for the nsfw artists to draw it? With a YN or their MC?

4) Are you okay with fanart etc being on more then just Tumblr? Like Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok? Maybe even Youtube?

5) Do ya know how in DnD peoplez make mini scenes from they’re sessions? Or while they roleplay the figures move or the furniture or area changes? Are you okay with that or like doll like in dollhouse type thingy, because I kinda wanna do a figures of the paintball scenes

6) is it okay for people to make fanfics of your fanfics? Or like use your version of characters in they’re own fanfic, for example; take your characters out them in a total different world, but they’re personality etc stay the same, unless needed for certain story ideas like medieval, fantasy, dnd world etc

7) ALSO are you okay with people like making HND, etc, inspired like “merch” in a way?(thoughts on selling, but I’m more of is it okay to make for yourself) Or like making *spoiler kinda* The necklace Mafia gave MC? Mango and MC’s bracelets? Or like Dreams coin necklace? or people making like the boys jackets so it’s the cute “wearing my bf jacket” thing? - or thoughts on people designing tattoos of your fanfic and getting those tattoos? Or just designing tattoos?

Of course for all of these you’d be given credit, tagged, etc- if you have the certain platforms where posted or regardless credited one way or another! And of course have it’s own hashtag so it doesn’t get lost to something completely different like some idea examples: Cosplay wise: # HNDCosplay, HNDBerryCosplay, HNDMCCosplay, etc etc etc and say scenes HNDCannon, HNDFannon, HNDScenesCannon,

It’s just I’m a Cosplayer and I’ve been really wanting to Cosplay your characters, redo scenes in Cosplay format, and I wonder if it’s okay aswell as if others might be wanting too as well or if it’s just a me thing😂 Also sorry it was originally 2 questions that lead to an essay🤣 I really am sorry it’s long, however your story, REALLY helps my creative mind keep getting ideas and I have a lot of hobbies, I also don’t wanna spam you so I try to keep it all in one ask. YES! I have a few so far on AO3 that have been inspired by HND. I feel like the only skeletons I have claims on are Syrup and Berry though because I accidentally made them. Obviously all other skeletons belong to their original owners but if you like my interpretation of them go for it. Also use Syrup and Berry for whatever. Take them all of them! Then they can be your problem. You can use all the humans too, like Lo, Vanessa or the brothers. I don’t mind

Yes! Again i’d be careful cause obviously most of these skeletons are not mine. They are the respective owners so you’d have to check with them. However the necklace, mango’s friendship bracelet and dreams coin necklace are all fine to make if you want cause I did make them up. The jackets would be based on the other creators (I think most are ok with it from memory but double check) but Syrups you can make. Tattoo designs would be awesome to see!! If people get tattoos on HND that’s on them but I might die. Heck if someone makes a HND tattoo that I love I might get it XD. Currently I have no plans to make merch for HND just cause I never thought of it XD you can make whatever you want for yourself, selling would be fine for now? If I ever make my own in future my stance on that might change though.

episode 36

new series: once a week i’ll post about the free episode and my thoughts on it. (posts will be tagged #the bandana reads chasing tails, because i’m not creative). also, i’m a fast passer, so i’m going to be making these posts up to 5 weeks ahead of when they get posted. so

(spoilers ahead)

i’ll make it clear from here that i think seongbin and taeyeon are guilty as hell. seongbin is obviously the mimic (i have another post about that queued up but it won’t be here for a few weeks). taeyeon is a little trickier, though.

i could spend a long time explaining why i think they’re guilty. but here’s just one reason: they overcompensate.

by now, we’ve seen the aftermath of two deaths, yun and hyeseong. and for each of these, we see a volatile, emotional reaction from the person closest to the victim. cheongnok lost his shit when yun died. hanna lost her shit when hyeseong died. to me, the way both of them react is not only realistic to someone who just lost their girlfriend/best friend (respectively), but more importantly, it’s realistic to someone who didn’t expect to lose that person. this isn’t me saying cheongnok and hanna are innocent. i do think they were involved with some deaths (mostly junho’s), whether that’s actively participating in the murder or just keeping quiet about a killing. what i am saying is that i don’t think cheongnok did anything to yun, and i don’t think hanna did anything to hyeseong.

that tangent over, how do taeyeon and seongbin react to the deaths?

taeyeon: to get the most important thing out of the way: we haven’t seen the fallout after junho’s death yet. we don’t know how taeyeon (his closest friend among them) reacted. however! her confession from this week’s free episode was plenty. you can see how guilt-ridden she is. she’s crying, she’s speaking incoherently, and most importantly, she’s talking about how she feels responsible for junho’s death. lines like, “but still... i shouldn’t have let him do it by himself... i’m the one he trusted the most...” show this guilt she’s carrying.

seongbin: for him, i’d like to talk about his inner monologue in episode 32. it’s after hyeseong died, and he’s just thinking to himself, i’m sorry i yelled at hyeseong that one time, i wish i hadn’t done that, why did i do that, i’m so sorry. this goes beyond having simple regrets. seongbin feels SO guilty about this, while nobody else seems to have these type of regrets about the other victims, at least not to this extent. it’s not out of the realm of possibility to think that seongbin was trying to ease his conscience with these thoughts.

all this guilt makes taeyeon and seongbin very interesting characters to me. because the way the comic has been going, i find myself believing more and more that they’re the killers, together (seongbin as the mastermind, and taeyeon being more of a right-hand-man). and i’ve never really seen killers/villains like them. they both have, to some extent, a soft side. all this is just my opinion, but i think that makes them just so interesting.

Tentative/flexible no. I already have most of it scripted out, so most “can this happen?” requests will not be honored. Small things like non-plot details or events/situations that happen before the events of canon (check out the pre-comic timeline here) might slide, but don’t get your hopes up.

Story Questions:

How did Luz get to the demon realm, and how did Belos find her?

Luz slips into the demon realm at age 7 by falling into a lake near her house that was infused with titan’s blood. She ends up in a forest near the Emperor’s castle and is found by Hunter who secretly sneaks her food. She’s eventually found by coven scouts, mistaken for an escaped basilisk, and brought to Belos. (Post with more elaboration here).

Why does Belos take Luz in?

Belos takes Luz in because 1) she’s human and he wants to “keep her safe” from the demon realm, and 2) as a sort of experiment to see if he could replicate the relationship he had with his brother through Hunter and Luz. It initially starts with the intention of making it so Hunter would be less likely to betray him (encouraging them to be codependent, making it so Luz has to be watched over since shes “defenseless”, etc), but it eventually evolves into Belos heavily projecting onto Luz because of their similarities. He gets creepily emotionally attached to what Luz represents.

What is Hunter’s reaction to having a new sibling?

He HATES it at first. He doesn’t like dragging around a terribly-behaved, fragile human that keeps getting into trouble. In the timeline, it takes around a year for them to stop bickering and start getting along. (More elaboration here).

Why keep Luz’s humanity a secret? Who knows?

It’s a manipulation tactic on Belos’s part to make Luz wary of witches and demons - he is the one to insist on how important it is that it’s kept secret, because “who knows what a witch will do when they find out you’re a defenseless human. They’ll rip you apart. You’re not like them. I’m the only one you can trust because I know who you really are and I’m kind to you,” etc.

No one knows but Belos, Hunter, and (unknowingly to the others) Kikimora through her snooping.

What’s the deal with the Guildersnake?

Luz’s Guildersnake, also known as Backup, was a gift from Eberwolf early on in Luz’s stay in the castle. (Elaboration here).

What is the Azura Incident?

The Azura Incident was an Azura bookclub meeting gone wrong, resulting in a month-long shipping war within the coven where the two sides were fighting over who Azura should be in a relationship with. There was a real threat that the Emperor could be overthrown in the chaos. Luz led one faction with Hunter as her second-in-command. Steve “led” the other faction with Lilith as the real mastermind. Why doesn’t Luz have a staff?

To encourage Luz and Hunter’s codependency, and also the “us/them” mentality between humans and Witches that Belos is trying to foster in Luz (which… doesn’t really work). Hunter is responsible for Luz’s wellbeing, and since she can’t do magic or any way to defend herself (that Belos knows of), he has to stay by her side pretty much all the time. Hunter lets her borrow the staff outside the castle sometimes, though, and they of course have the glyphs.

Why does Warden Wrath call Luz “sir”?

Luz and Hunter are difficult to tell apart while fully masked, at least until they start speaking, so everyone calls them both “sir” out of convenience! Luz is pretty gender-nonconforming in canon, so she’s fine with it.

Does Luz remember how to speak Spanish/has Luz taught Hunter any Spanish?

Yes to both! Luz is still fluent, although it’s difficult to stay in practice since no one in the Boiling Isles can speak it. She has taught some to Hunter, but he doesn’t know much. He picks up certain phrases that he mutters to himself, though. (Elaboration here, here and here).

My opinions about the Loki (2021) series. Spoilers and all that.

I took some time off the fandom until I felt it was time to make this post, if only to get it out of my system, so I can finally rest. I thought, since I was so pumped for the series to begin with, before it was launched and everything, and how I waited to expectantly for every episode that was airing weekly, that the empty feeling I was experiencing after it was all done was just because, well, it was all done.

I thought maybe it was the normal empty-chested-feeling you get when you finish a movie, series, or book that you really liked / waited a lot for.

It was not it. It didn’t pass. It got worse.

I’m going to put this under a cut, and under the anti-tags, because I know some people liked this show and not everyone has to be miserable with me.

I want to preface this by saying that I respect everyone that was involved in this project, and I know that it may be gut-wrenching to receive criticism on something that you worked in, but I feel cheated. I feel lied to. It’s one thing to work hard and be thoughtful and still receive bad reviews, but I don’t think this is the case at all.

To start it all, I was so excited to see Loki again. He’s the only character that I maintained any attachment to throughout so long, sometimes more, sometimes less, but I always considered myself a fan since I saw The Avengers (2012) with my parents in the theaters, at the ripe age of 12. To be honest, Loki was what got me into superhero movies, and into the marvel fandom at all. And I knew, or at least suspected, that they would do something different with the character. I was ready for that, after reading the comics and realizing that MCU Loki and Comics Loki are two different versions of the same character (more on that later). And I thought it was even going to be for the best, since Tom Hiddleston, bless his heart, was one of the executive producers and, I thought, would have more of a say on Loki’s character arc during the series.

What I watched was, to be completely fair with myself, not Loki. I couldn’t really pinpoint it at the time, but I keep expecting something to happen after he was captured by the TVA to show us his mind at work. A scheme, a plan, anything remotely smart that he cooked up. And yet, nothing. He kept acting…Not Loki. As time passed, I hoped he was biding his time, fooling everyone, that he would reveal his masterplan at the season finale and go back to the main timeline. The series ended and I didn’t see Loki, any of them, act as Loki once.

Maybe it’s because I am a fan of the older version of MCU Loki. The darker, more complicated one. I didn’t want a redeeming arc at all, I don’t think all villains or anti villains need a redeeming arc. That’s boring. And, to my interpretation of his character, shouldn’t be in his future at all. Loki thrives on the gray area. I love not knowing what he is to the other characters, the chaos, the lying and manipulation, the grand schemes. This new content we’ve been getting, since Ragnarok, depict him as a more comedic, campy character (which is …fine? Meh, I don’t care for it).

And of course, that’s not to say Tom Hiddleston didn’t do a good job. Poor man did his best with what was given to him by the writers. It’s hard to keep a character consistent, however, when every director and screenwriter seems to have a different idea of who they are. He kept it together fairly well when Taika attempted to assassinate Loki’s character, but Kate Herron snapped his neck harder than Thanos ever could. And for what?

Sylvie.

Now, hear me out. There’s nothing wrong with the concepts of Sylvie, Lady Loki, and a Love interest. Separately. In trying to bring everything together in one character, the writers not only could not come up with a compelling woman character, but also had to bring down an already well established character, the TITULAR character, no less, so she could look somewhat presentable, which is insulting. And they Still failed. I don’t like the pairing either, but that’s not what I’m talking about (right now). The truth is, I don’t know Sylvie. She just got here, I have no emotional attachment to her whatsoever, so I won’t feel for her the same I feel for Loki, who’ve I watched for almost a decade. And instead of trying to build an emotional connection between Sylvie and the viewer, they chose to spoon-feed us a romance between her and Loki.

Well, more between Loki and Her, and not even that. I felt like Loki was always trailing her like a lost puppy, and big eyes and expectations, and she was giving him…Absolutely nothing. All the sweet moments between them were initiated by him, all the talking about feeling were done by him, all the looks and gestures…And although I understand Sylvie grew up in apocalypses and Loki grew up in a palace, she still claimed to have romantic partners. Multiple, man and women. And still, showed no visible interest in Loki up until the kiss scene, which I suspect was more to shut him up and send him flying that anything.

Excuse me if I want Loki to have a love interest who is actually invested in him too.

And Why make her a Loki variant at all if she is adamant she isn’t Loki? Why go to the extent of dying her hair blonde (where in the apocalypse did she manage to get her hair blonde? WHY?) and then give her horns? If she was taken as a child, where did she get the very Asgardian like leather armor she used? WHERE IS THIS INFORMATION?

If they were going to go so far to alienate her from the identity of being a Loki variant just so they could pair her with Loki and it not be weird (it was), why make her a variant at all? If you’re going to make a selfcest pairing, at least commit to it. Sylvie Lushton, from where they got the name, isn’t a Loki Variant, if anything She’s an Amora Variant. Why name her Sylvie if she has no relation to Amora?

The plot has so many holes and is so disappointing. I was promising Loki playing around and causing havoc with time traveling. When I saw Richard E. Grant had been cast, I imagined the big bad would be King Loki, like in the comics! Something about Loki seeing what he becomes if he let darkness completely consume him, and finding balance in his chaos, after all. The premise of Loki healing though observing himself, or variants of himself, was honestly good. His variants, however, where so underused, poorly used, made Loki look like a fool. Even he was ashamed of their interactions. And Kid Loki apparently Killed Thor, which makes him the leader (???) and that’s never mentioned again. President Loki, who was a big part of the appeal of the trailer, is gone in two minutes. And then there’s the mirror scene from the trailer, that didn’t even make it to the series.

There are other things that bother me a lot about this too, but it’s not my place to discuss them in dept. To list, if anyone is interested in knowing: The underdevelopment of black character, and the reaction of the fandom, to my knowledge, to said black characters, in special Ravonna and Boastful Loki. The misrepresentation of gender fluid people, which if I can recall was one of the points they sold to us as something they would touch into Loki’s characterization. Some people have pointed out that it was biphobic to pair Loki with a woman after he “came out” on screen as bisexual. I am bisexual, and I disagree, but I can see why it’s an issue for a lot of people, as mlm relationships are rare in MCU canon. What I thought was Biphobic, however, was having Loki not show us he was bi, rather than telling us.

In summary, I am very disappointed, and I am mourning. This series managed to do what End Game didn’t, which was kill all hope I had to ever have Loki back. He’s gone.

Anyway: why Sergey must be the one to personally rescue Oleg in volume 8, from a narrative point of view

In order for Sergey and Oleg's relationship, regardless of how you want to define it, to move forward with positive momentum, this /must/ happen. The narrative demands it in order to bring closure. Why? Well, let's get into it by analyzing what we have so far

1) While I do fully believe Oleg trusts and forgives Sergey (and I’m not gonna go into proof of that here, as others have before), there is a constant spectre hanging over them. A spectre in the shape of 5 bullets. We are reminded constantly of it, largely in the form of Sergey's guilt, which is something we haven't gotten any real closure on yet. Sergey believes himself only capable of destruction, which is literally represented using a picture of him and Oleg.

The rift in their relationship is why Sergey doubts himself. The lasting physical effects bother him as well and we are all but beaten over the head with it - Sergey can't forget and neither can we, the audience. Oleg, too, has to live with this, even if he has made his peace with it

In fact, his long term injuries are what cause him to be captured in the first place. This situation, from a narrative pov, is thus Sergey's fault - if not for the 5 bullets, it's implied Oleg could've won. But no, he's captured and tortured, because of what Sergey did

What Oleg does or doesn't think of that is honestly irrelevant; the narrative is what's setting this up as a direct consequence. Also, whether or not Oleg has forgiven Sergey is also irrelevant because Sergey hasn't forgiven himself. This is what the story has presented and thus what it needs to conclude.

2) We are all also aware that Oleg has rescued Sergey more than once, even when it was ill-advised. The first time, sure, there's some risk, but it’s still in the range of manageable. But the second time? Not only was it more dangerous, given all that was going on in the immediate aftermath, he’s also risking himself to rescue someone who shot him 5 times. Oleg is cautious; he keeps Sergey in a cell presumably until he feels safe freeing him, but he still did it. He planned it, had that place ready, faked their deaths, all of it. He did that after the 5 bullets

So Sergey isn't lying when he tells Lera they don't leave their people behind. Oleg has been there for Sergey before, rescued him no matter the dangers, continues to stay by his side, and even cares enough to make sure he sleeps. Given this, how could Sergey not be ready and willing to return the favour?

3) Every outside character who knows anything about their relationship believes it to be imbalanced. The mercenary, Altan, Vadim, and even Lera. They all say this, they all point out the 5 bullets, that oh, Oleg, why does he stay?

While they don't have the insight us readers do, this tension is here for a reason, especially coupled with the previous two points. Even if we know better, the narrative is offering us a kernel of doubt. Does Sergey really care? Will he go as far for Oleg as Oleg has for him? Did he really mean those apologies? Or are the others right? Even Oleg, although I do think he's lying to protect Sergey, says he has doubts. Vadim seems certain Sergey will come, yet still calls Oleg “Mr. Stockholm Syndrome”.

The equality of their relationship is continually called into question - why do that if it's not going to be resolved? Why play this 'will he, won't he' game if he won't? Why set us up for disappointment? If Sergey doesn't go, all of this will remain unresolved and their relationship can only get worse, not better. The spectre will never leave them alone.

(One note here: I believe most of these perspectives are from unreliable narrators, given what details they give and that their accounts conflict with what we actually see. But these perspectives are included for a reason – imo, so that Sergey can prove them wrong)

4) The other thing the narrative tells us is that Sergey can be impulsive. Yes, he's brilliant, frighteningly so, but it's Oleg that is constantly urging caution. Sergey is aware there are risks, yet he forges ahead anyway, restrained (sometimes) only by Oleg's advice.

Why would that change now? If anything, with how distressed Sergey seems to be, I'd argue he'd be even /more/ impulsive than usual because he's too emotional to think right.

And who's going to urge caution, if not Oleg? Lera? I doubt he would listen if she did and, to be frank, why would she care if Sergey gets hurt? She knows him primarily as the one forcing her into a situation that is having serious negative effects on her life. Her secondary knowledge is that he's a murderer and terrorist. Much as it's fun to think of them all having a friendly relationship, Plague Daughter and all that, that’s not where they are right now. She might from a logical point of view, just because it is very obviously a trap, but Sergey knows that - her saying it isn't going to convince him of anything. Even if she did try, I don't think it'd have any effect.

5) And lastly, Lera is absolutely not ready for this fight. This isn't some regular asshole on the streets; Vadim is a professional killer. He beat Oleg in a fight and, even with his injuries, we all saw the kitchen fight. We know what Oleg is capable of. I love Lera with my whole being and she is a badass, but she's not ready for this. She had trouble with Kamenny, who honestly may have let her win under Altan's instructions.

Even still, Vadim is MUCH better and, much as Altan wants PD alive, I don't think he much cares in what condition. Best case scenario is that Lera gets captured too, and Vadim likely wouldn't hesitate to kill her, and then Sergey has to go himself anyway. Lera may come to help, but Sergey needs to be there. If Sergey really is better than Oleg at present, he's the one who needs to fight Vadim (with a plan, obviously, and maybe some extra backup).

In conclusion, all of this comes together to say one thing: Sergey needs to go. He needs to prove to himself, to the audience, and most of all to the narrative that no, this relationship isn’t one-sided, and that he will go as far for Oleg as Oleg has gone for him. The narrative made this a big point of tension, insisted upon it, beat us over the head with it, and now has teased at Sergey’s opportunity to put up or shut up. It has to be Sergey, both practically because Lera isn’t ready yet, and in order to be a satisfying story. Because if he doesn’t, that tension isn’t resolved. His guilt will only grow after failing Oleg once again, despite Oleg sticking with him through everything, and it would have been by his own choice, not because of the Bird’s influence or anyone else. He will know it. Oleg will know it. We will know it. And their relationship can only sour from there. There will be no more possibility for positive momentum, only negative.

As a last point, I will also say that I’m aware my anxieties may be unfounded. These creators do seem to legitimately care about these characters, telling a good story, and satisfying the audience. But I’ve been burned by pieces of media where that is not the case, so it’s hard for me to trust and not doubt, even with creators who have, so far, not let me down lmao.

Loki ranting

Okay. I had this thought in my head of like just compiling links of all the Loki shit I've posted/reblogged so far so that when I get into a conversation about the show and how it fucking disgusted me, I can just be like "here. here's this masterlist post, go read all this shit. This is my entire argument, and not only mine, but a lot of stuff posted by people far more intelligent and level-headed and eloquent than I am, whom I happen to agree with." Because the alternative is constantly getting fired up all over again, and that is exhausting.

BUT! I'm stupid and don't know how tumblr works. Apparently I can't just be like "give me all the Loki-tagged shit I've got" I can only search all the Loki-tagged shit on all of tumblr. And I'm not scrolling back through all of my posts. I talk too fucking much for that shit 😂

So, I'll try to remember all of my grievances with how the MCU has treated Loki, and all of the excellent posts made by other, equally upset fans, and put it all together here under this nice, neat little cut for everyone else's sanity and scrolling convenience...

For people who actually read my shit fairly regularly - bless you, you crazy, patient people. I love you! - this is going to be a lot of repetition of shit you've already read. Probably at least twice. I'm passionate and I have a terrible memory lol. Sorry.

Anyway, first, for those who don't know me and haven't been following my explosions of rage for the past couple of months, some quick background: I do not read comic books, so Loki's Marvel comic canon means nothing to me. I know almost nothing about it. The reason I'm so in love with the character in the MCU is because I am an eclectic witch and the deity I've actively loved and worshiped the longest in my life (literally for as long as I can remember) is Loki. So when he was mentioned in The Mask, I squeed. When they named Matt Damon's character after him in Dogma, I cheered.

When Thor came out in 2011, I just about died from happiness. I was hungry for any representation of this underappreciated god, no matter what it was. I didn't even bitch about how underpowered he was, because at least he was there. But I'm getting slightly ahead of myself.

I can hear anyone reading this going "Why Loki? Isn't he, like, evil? Like basically the Norse version of The Devil?" Because I heard all this shit irl all the fucking time. And no. So let me give you a quick rundown of who Loki actually is.

Loki is a Trickster God. He's often referred to as the God of Mischief. He is not and never was evil, simply chaotic and hedonistic. Loki Laufeyjarson was the son of Laufey (that's mama; they changed her to a man for some reason in the movie) and Fárbauti. Right from the start, from his name, we get a sign of how Loki goes against traditional norms of the time, because in Norse culture, families were patrilineal, and surnames were "son/daughter of father" (which would have made him Loki Fárbautitason), not the mother. But Loki's surname is matrilineal. Feminist icon woo! lol

Though he's a Jotunn, Loki is counted among the Gods (Aesir) in Norse tradition. Depending on his mood, he is alternately helpful or disruptive to the other Gods. I'm not gonna sit and teach a whole text class on him lol but I'll use my favorite example of Misunderstood Loki - the conception of Sleipnir!

So, get this shit. This is also part of why I DO NOT follow Odin and never fucking will (a very small part, but still part of the reason). So, the other Norse Gods are petty motherfuckers, and they wanted some shit built but didn't want to pay the dude doing the building. So they were like "okay, if you can get it done in X amount of time, we'll pay you, but if you can't manage it NO MATTER WHAT, this whole thing is free." And they made sure he had NO help, nothing but him, his materials, and his Very Good Horsey. And this guy and his horse were fucking BAMFs. So it was looking like he was definitely gonna get it done in time, and Odin was like "nah, fuck that shit. I'm cheap." and so he sent Loki to distract the work horse. Loki transformed into a mare and lured the horse away, got fucked, got pregnant, gave birth to the 8-legged (for some reason) horse Sleipnir. Odin rides Loki's son into battle. Um. Kay.

So Loki helped Odin be a petty mf, and Odin got himself a new pet out of the deal.

Oh, also, because he's smart af and a shapeshifter and a master magician and genderfluid, Loki "fails" to fit the super fucking toxic and narrow Norse/Aesir view of "a real man". He prefers intelligence and manipulation to solve problems rather than violence, he's not afraid to behave like a clown if it gets shit done, and that grosses the Aesir out, so they constantly ridicule him for being "less than a man".

Loki is the God of the outcast and the misunderstood. The marginalized people from all walks of life. He is the God of the LGBT community. In modern terms, he's pansexual, polyamorous (married to Sigyn and they are deeply in love, but boy gets around and I've never seen any indication that Sigyn gives a shit) and genderfluid.

Okay. Focus, Ali. This is part of why I usually post multiple rants instead of one big long one XD The longer I ramble, the more I get sidetracked and forget the original point.

So. Loki's awesome, and being a Trickster, is powerful as all fucking hell. There's not much he can't do.

And now we come to Thor (the movie, not the deity). Loki's there! 24-year-old Ali is spazzing! All is right with the world!

Oh lord, they've actually done him justice?! Amazing! He's complex and nuanced and emotional, just like the real Loki! I loved this movie. Loved. It. The climactic thing with trying to blow up Jotunheim never really made much sense to me until someone made an excellent point the other day about Loki being raised in a racist society that was racist against his own race, he just didn't know it yet, poor child. Baby Thor was never corrected when he pledged to commit mass genocide, so Baby Loki probably absorbed the lesson then that Jotunns=evil and killing them all will win his father's love. Anyway, 2011 Loki was a beautiful, heartbreaking portrayal of the God I've loved all my life and spent 24 years longing to see depicted on the big screen.

Then The Avengers happened. And I saw another Loki very close to Norse mythology - mainly, how he's treated. In the beginning of the movie, he's sick, exhausted, and in pain. He can hardly stand, he stumbles and needs help when he walks. He was very obviously tortured, and the sickly blue light of the scepter's control is in his eyes. That gets less and less pronounced as the movie goes on, showing Loki working his way free of it, but in the beginning, he's a mess. Because he was tortured and used by Thanos. Marvel directly confirmed this, and that he was under the scepter's/Mind Stone's control. Loki's actions are not his own in The Avengers. He's under both threat and Thanos' direct control. The movie actually shows The Other directly threatening him to keep him on task, because this is not Loki's plan. It is not what he wants. He's being used and villainized... Just like in real life. It hurt to see this done to him, but the accuracy was too beautiful to ignore.

Thor: The Dark World comes out. I've heard people complain that this movie is the weak link in the Thor trilogy. I disagree. I think that's Ragnarok, for a bunch of reasons, but we'll get there. (And for the record, I loved Ragnarok, too. It was a funny movie. Infinity War and the Disney+ series are the only portrayals of Loki in the MCU that I truly fucking hated.) Anyway, good, fun movie. Had its faults, as all movies do, but it still followed Loki's real-life arc in a way. How? By having Loki dragged back to Asgard in chains and imprisoned underground. Again, not super happy that this happened to my love, and having to see it on screen was painful, but at least in the MCU he's not chained to a rock with venom dripping on his face for eternity, so there's that. (poor Sigyn. how tired do her arms get, holding up that bowl? best wife ever, amirite?)

In TDW, we're shown Loki's love for Frigga, who favored him and taught him magic as a child. We see his bravado; his attempts to mask his true feelings, especially grief. We see him slowly coming back to himself after the events of The Avengers, and slowly mending his relationship with his brother. He accepts that Odin will likely never love him, but Thor just might, because they were close when they were young. "I didn't do it for him." No, no my sweet, you did it for your brother, and a little out of guilt for what happened to your mother.

At the end, Loki fakes his death and escapes, taking the throne, and I have mixed feelings about this. Not the writer's choices here; I love that completely! A natural progression in Loki's story. But my joy is tainted by how closely they're following the Eddas now. Because Loki's escape from his prison heralds the beginning of Ragnarok. And Loki will die in Ragnarok. I don't want to see that play out in front of my face. I won't be able to handle the grief (spoiler alert! IW broke me. I almost walked out of the theater. Loki's death was legitimately fucking traumatic for me. I don't even care how pathetic that is. That grief was real, it was intense, and I still shake and cry when I think about it.)

Marvel announces that Thor 3 will be called Ragnarok. The internet treats this as a shocking revelation. I roll my eyes and mumble "duh" to myself and move on XD

Then they say Ragnarok will be a buddy comedy. I throw up a little in my mouth and no longer want to live on this planet. If they're going to make something called Ragnarok, could they at least treat it with even a fraction of the respect they've shown these characters thusfar? Jfc. I mean, I'll see it anyway, because I'm a whore for Tom Hiddleston lol. But come on, people!

I hated that they made Hel the long-lost older sister and Fenrir her fucking pet/attack dog. Those are my favorites of Loki's children! Hel is such an incredible badass that the early Christians named their dimension of eternal torture after her! They were terrified of her, to the point of naming the place that terrified them most after her. That's awesome! And Fenrir's just the best. I love wolves. Those two details, and Odin's retcon of "we're not Gods! ...lol, except your sister. she's totally a Goddess. and def gonna kill literally everything, so... good luck! byyyeeeee" pissed me off royally.

The rest was great. I genuinely liked this movie. Still do. And they finally used The Immigrant Song! That was pretty cool. If they'd thrown in Bring the Hammer Down and Thunderstruck, I might've called this movie perfect. XD

I wasn't totally in love with their portrayal of Loki in Ragnarok. Yes, the falling for 30 minutes line was funny, as was "I have to get off this planet" and "YES! That's how it feels!" And "Get Help" was funny as hell. But also, like... There is no way Loki would have been the dumb one in that first encounter with Hela. Also, he can teleport and project copies of himself and shit, so... He would not have been that desperate to go straight back to Asgard and bring her right along with them. Loki's not stupid. But whatever. Movie's gotta movie.

What I did love was seeing the slow mending of his relationship with Thor continuing, and the badass fighting on the bridge. I also loved that, like Real Loki, Movie Loki helped when help was needed, was quick and clever, and while he was carrying out the main plan, he was also planning ahead and grabbing the Tesseract. Yes, that drew Thanos right to them, but that's a whole other thing. Loki never would have left that thing on Asgard to be destroyed or lost.

And now Infinity War. Hooooly fucking shit. You know what? No. I'm not going into this. He was killed, years of character growth were erased forever, my heart fucking shattered. The end.

Endgame. IW hurt me so bad I didn't see Endgame until this year. I actually watched Civil War first (for context: I had actively avoided all Cap movies until this year because I fucking hate Steve Rogers. I find him insufferable. Did not realize what I was denying myself until I watched CW and finally saw the charms of Bucky. When he appeared in IW, I was so lost. XD I was like "...who dis? Murder Jesus?" also I just... didn't care. I was numb by then from crying through most of the movie over Loki)

So, anyway. Endgame. Loki picks up the Tesseract in alternate 2012, escapes, fans go "yay! he didn't actually die!" I go "yes he fucking did. Five years of his life, gone. Five years of growth and change, erased. Loki is dead. This will not be the same."

I was more right than I could have predicted. Now we come to the point of this rant. Sorry it took so long, but you were warned lol.

The Loki series makes me so angry I actually get sick to my stomach. It was fucking TRASH. When I praised Marvel for following Norse mythology so faithfully earlier? Yeah. I DID NOT MEAN TREAT HIM THE WAY THE OTHER GODS DID. I did not mean paint him as a pitiful clown, a joke, a caricature of who he truly was, with his pain and suffering played for LAUGHS.

This is supposed to be 2012 Loki, newly freed from Thanos' control. The Loki we saw in the beginning of TDW - snarky, exhausted, nihilistic. The Loki who rolled his eyes and said "get on with it" expecting to be killed.

The bumbling clown flipping on a dime from posturing to calling himself weak is not 2012 Loki. That is not ANY Loki. That is Tom Hiddleston in a black wig doing what he's told by a shitty writer who had no fucking idea what he was doing and was salty about his (bad) original script (for something totally fucking unrelated) getting killed.

In Episode 1, Loki is mocked, imprisoned, stripped against his will, tormented, belittled, and given a flippant summary of all the trauma Actual MCU Loki suffered that this one skipped out on, with no context, no acknowledgement of the trauma he's already lived quite fucking recently, and with the narrative twisted to not only erase all the abuse he's suffered, but to make it all his fault. And this is supposed to make him want to help these people?

And worse, IT FUCKING WORKS. WHAT?! I CAN'T- FUCKING WHAT?! Remember when I said LOKI IS NOT FUCKING STUPID?! So why is he STUPID?

Episode 2, he's a child. Mentally, this Loki is a fucking child. Now we've erased all the growth and development of his entire adult life. He's dopey, impatient, impulsive, desperate for a pat on the back and actually shows it. Yes, abused and neglected children crave the positive attention we never received, and we often grow up to be a bit emotionally stunted. But not all of us, and not Loki. Not as we've seen him EVER in the rest of the MCU. Playful and a bit callous at times? Absolutely! But not a big dumb fucking puppy.

Episode 3, a ray of hope, despite Sylvie! (I hate Sylvie) Loki casually admits he's pan/bi; labels never come up, but he admits to being with both men and women! He sings! Not really relevant to whether I approve of his portrayal or not lol but Tom has a beautiful voice, Norwegian ("Asgardian" lol) is a gorgeous, entrancing language, and I could watch that one bit on loop for eternity and never get bored. And then, finally, we see a glimpse - a glimpse - of Loki's power! He stops a falling building and pushes it right back up! Are we finally getting to see what he can really do? Will the next episode bring us Loki in all his glory?

Nope. 4 and 5 we see him mocked and pushed around and utterly irrelevant. Again. We see tiny reflections of what he could maybe theoretically do in other random Loki variants, but the "main" (lawl. main. it was the Sylvie and Mobius show. Loki was never the main anything.) Loki? Nothing. He wears his heart on his sleeve for no reason, bonds with the man who imprisoned, taunted, and gaslit him, is killed, and continues to be a moron and a joke. Always the clown. Always the dumb one. The one with the bad ideas. The inferior Loki.

Don't even get me started on that finale. I can't. This already took so much out of me. Fuck Marvel. Fuck this fucking show. I just... I'm done.

THANK YOU FOR LIKING HIM HE’S CALLED DAVIDE Dav for short, he’s a cat of a man and a music instrument enthusiast (mostly string ones, but he’s very good with the piano as well) - he works in a music instruments store, and he’s a uni student majoring in philosphy! He doesn’t like bothersome things, he isn’t very good at taking anything seriously or putting effort in stuff, but he’s very chill to spend time with and generally a nice chat both if you want mindless thoughts or deep conversations (he’s a philosophy major after all). He can’t sing for shit, he’s got two cats (tago and schelly!), and he just wants a quiet life to laze around but all his friends are hurricanes in human bodies, but then again, he picked them himself so he can’t complain. URL says it all! On this blog I talk about the last words of the Warriors characters. 

As you may expect, this includes major spoilers. I always make sure to tag the book in which a character is mentioned. If you have yet to read whichever book I’m on, friendly reminder that you can always block the tag so that you do not have to read it.

On top of this, there are many other tags that I add that can help people find the scene themself or have a better understanding of what is going on. Examples of these tags include:

--the series name in which a character died.

--The exact book in which a character died.

--The chapter in which a character died.

--How the character died.

--What led up to it (if it wasn’t related to natural causes).

--The page in which a character died (if I read it on paper and not online).

I will also sometimes make posts not related to the last words. If you don’t wish to see these, here are the tags you can block:

Notalastword / Not a last word -- any posts that don’t relate to the lasts words. This will be included in the below

Hellfire / Hellfirecomic -- any posts mentioning my own OCs

Mycats (or something, I don’t know) -- any posts about my own cats because I will probably definitely do that sometime because I love those dumb babes.

Originally, this blog was supposed to be for last words and nothing but last words, but oh well. I just mentioned the tags you can block, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense for someone to be annoyed by the posts I make that aren’t related to last words (which is my biggest worry), you know?

One final thing--

[....] Are used to indicate that a second character had spoken, either to the dying character or to someone else.

Example:

“Please help me,” Algaepaw whimpered. Clovereyes’s heart sunk, seeing the spark of fear in her son’s eyes. “Hold still,” she told him. Algaepaw trembled, his entire body shaking. “Please help.”

Ignoring the bad writing (I wrote it on the spot), this is what it would look like as last words:

“Please help me. [....] Please help.”

(....) Are used to indicate a long pause in speech, usually broken by narration. I usually only use it when there’s a long narration text, but I also sometimes use it even when there’s just a few words separating one quote from the next when it doesn’t connect and looks better with a space.

Examples:

“Please help me,” Algaepaw whimpered. Clovereyes’s heart sunk, seeing the spark of fear in her son’s eyes. “Hold still,” she told him. Algaepaw trembled, his entire body shaking. “Please help.” Clovereyes scanned the undergrowth wildly. Her mind whirled, and her muscles screamed at her to run and collect herbs, but she had no idea where to look. She glanced fearfully at Algaepaw. His eyes were screwed tightly in pain. Could she risk leaving him? He was hurt badly, there was no way he could defend himself if a predator came. “It hurts,” he groaned, so low it was almost inaudible.

And this is what that would look like as last words: 

“Please help me. [....] Please help. (....) It hurts.”

But it could work like this:

“Please help me,” Algaepaw whimpered. Clovereyes’s heart sunk, seeing the spark of fear in her son’s eyes. “Hold still,” she told him. Algaepaw trembled, his entire body shaking. “Please help.” Clovereyes scanned the undergrowth wildly. Her mind whirled, and her muscles screamed at her to run and collect herbs, but she had no idea where to look. Algaepaw met his mother’s eyes, glazed and tired. “Thank you for all you’ve done.”

Even though the narration wasn’t too long, when Algaepaw was thanking his mom for taking care of him, that was a change in topic from him begging for help. 

So the (....) is usually used to indicate this change, mostly so that posts can flow more. 

Exceptions to this include:

--There aren’t any breaks if there is no narration in between words. A character may change the topic while talking, but if there is no word break, no break is indicated.

--There won’t be a break, even if there is (short) narration, if there is not a new topic, and/or if it can still flow well without the break.

You can also send an ask and suggest a character for the last words! Just don’t suggest anyone who may have died in Place of No Stars, Leopardstar’s Honour, or basically anything that came out after Veil of Shadows-- I have yet to read these.

Today’s masterpiece is the duck nephews as Webkinz!

Drawing clothes has proven to be incredibly difficult. Especially on a tiny screen.

To all the duckverse fans, where can I read the comics?

I love the Disney ducks because there are so many different mediums and works. It’s a world that will take me years to fully venture through, and I love the break from reality.

(SPOILERS!! For Ducktales 2017, season 2 episode 17: What Ever Happened to Donald Duck?!)

Can we talk about how SAD Donald’s story is?

When we first hear about his past, we learn that his speech impediment causes him a lot of social and emotional problems. He feels like no one understands him, and most of the time the majority of people don’t.

He could also be upset that since his peers don’t understand his words, they won’t understand his feelings either. The few people that do understand him, his sister Della and cousin Fethry and Gladstone, have moved on in their lives.

But Donald can’t forget about them and move on with his life. Why? Because there are tiny versions of them that he has to take care of!

In the show they compare Huey to Fethry, Louie to Gladstone, and Della to both Webby and Dewey.

(Sometimes Dewey is shown as being the Donald out of his siblings, at least as far as I’ve seen. I’m only on season 2 episode 19.)

And oh boy, is Donald protective of these kids. Perhaps he’s afraid that soon enough they’ll leave the nest and start their own lives too?

So not only is Donald grieving his missing sister, he’s taking care of her kids... and every now and then he sees hints of her in each of their personalities.

We don’t know much about Donald’s past in DT17 yet, and nothing about his time in the navy has been mentioned either. Hopefully we get to dive deeper into the waters of Donald Duck’s past in newer episodes.
