A little while ago I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a picture of seals covered in sand, and I thought, “It would be so cool if I made an OC out of that.” And I did.
While making this, I was going through a lot of deep thought, and was extremely slowly learning to love myself and my body. To showcase this, I decided to put some of the loveable features I hate about myself into Sugar Cookie to… idk. Prove to myself that I’m worthy of love? I’m not entirely sure I’m able to explain it.
And of course, not EVERYTHING about me has been incorporated into Sugar Cookie, and some details physically were added.
OC uses she / they, creator uses he / him!!!

Chula Verd Ref Sheets 2023
Read about where she's at in the Hunter and Turtles Series
More about her under the cut
Chula Verd is a hybrid between a Mandalorian Human and a Lasat. She weaves pieces of both cultures into her lifestyle but, since her mother died very shortly after she was born, she was raised by her Father and thus, leans more into her Mando heritage.
Sadly, the Mandalorian Clan War's end also brought the death of her Father. The pair had been with Death Watch for a time but Chula's Father did not agree with the plan Pre Vizsla was making. He had planned to sabotage the first attack on New Mandalore but Vizsla's followers learned of the plan and Vizsla ordered Chula's father be killed for treason.
Despite managing to escape, Chula's father was mortally wounded and died, leaving Chula orphaned and labeled a traitor to Death Watch at fifteen.
Chula traveled a lot over her next few years of life, her father had instilled a love of the star in her early on. She was angry and reckless but her Lasat heritage plus her fathers armor and training let her walk away from just about every fight unscathed.
In her Early twenties, she was in a cantina when a Jedi approached her. The Jedi, Astra Ader, had been tasked with recovering the local royalties daughter from kidnappers, since the ransom demanded for the princesses return was not at all feasible and her abduction had put a very delicate peace treaty in jeopardy. Astra said that she had planned to go alone but she heard a few whispers of a very skilled bounty hunter that happened to be in the area and since this mission was time sesative, she wished to hire Chula to track down the princess. Chula didn't much like the idea or getting mixed up with so political garbage but...the Jedi was offering a good sum and she was pretty and Chula was a little starved for some action.
The mission took only a few days, mostly because the kidnappers had moved the princess off planet, but Chula did her job. The Jedi was grateful and paid as she promised, Chula was surprised to find a little extra, and the two parted ways.
Chula assumed she'd never see Astra again but they kept meeting. The time between them meeting varied but, somehow, Astra kept approaching her in shady bars or crowded markets, with the promise of handsome pay for another job.
Eventually, Chula just gave Astra her communications code, saying that if she was going to be on the Jedi's payroll, might as well have a direct line. Astra seemed more than happy to call upon Chula's service anytime finding a person or persons was needed in her missions.
All the mission together drew the pair closer. Chula almost didn't notice how hard she was falling in love until years down the line. She never said a word, very aware that the Jedi frowned on their Knights courting people.
It didn't make it sting any less when the Clone Wars started and Astra's calls suddenly stopped.
Chula figured that she wouldn't see the Jedi again and, eventually, she'd move on. Except a few month into the War, Astra called, sobbing and begging Chula to help her becasue she didn't know what she was doing and she'd frozen and it had gotten her men killed. 'I lost so many, I killed them, I failed, please, I need help.'
Chula ran to Astra, because how could she say no? And helped the Jedi to be a proper general. It was at this time that Astra confessed that she had feeling for Chula. It wasn't an easy relationships, because Astra still held her duty to the Republic and Jedi over all else, but Chula would take it.
Chula became the honorary Commander of the 244th Battalion. She helped Astra with her tactics and working in active war zones, she started training the ARC troopers in Mandalorian fighting styles, she would spend days at a time on the star-ship, just bonding with Astra and the Clones. She planned to whisk them all away after the war (they were all to invested to even entertain the idea of a successful kidnapping during the war) because she knew that the Republic would not take care of them after the war ended.
But one mission threw all those plans out into the deepest voids of space
Chula is passionate, loyal, and adores children. She is very eager to help those she dubs friends and will not hesitate to crush her enemies. And despite the fact she doesn't like staying in one place for very long, she also doesn't do well when left alone for too long (depression, thoughts of suicide disguised as 'missions') And she wants to raise a little child of her own but, somehow, she keeps adopting teens and young adults.

OH MY GOD OKAY HEY so me and a popular artist friend who shall not be named recently got into your fic Calories and Kink and IT IS SO HOT AND SUCH A HUGE INSPIRATION!!!! I literally started my own fic bc of it and I'm trying so hard to do my own things based on my own tastes and not lift too much inspiration xD
I just wanted to ask if any of your characters (Alexa, Reggie, or anyone else) has references? We may or may not be doing gay fanart for your adorable fat lesbian comfort fic.
Also I was stoked to find you're trans (us too)!!! Happy for you, also just learned you're a system!!! You both rock, keep up the good work, you got some real fans here :D
I think you just broke Ava's part of the brain lmao (she'll be fine) but thank you so so so much!! We've gotten so much lovely feedback on this story, and it means so much to us that what started as a kinky little side project has so engaged folks in our corner of the internet <3 Best of luck with your fic! One thing about writing is no one else is gonna do it like you, so even if you take inspiration, it'll still be your own.
It's funny you ask about references, because we've been thinking about commissioning some art for a while, just haven't gotten around to it (*coughcough* $$$). So like, we don't have ref sheets or anything. But (speaking of lifting inspiration) Reggie was originally inspired by one of NekoCrispy's characters, Astrid. Specifically the energy of this piece sparked something. Obviously we made Reggie a maned wolf and very much our own character, but we still think of her shape as similar to Astrid's (while compensating for NekoCrispy's more stylized hips), but 6' tall and with bigger arms ;)
For Alexa, shape- and vibe-wise, we go to https://www.tumblr.com/littlestpigletann. She's been posting since she was a lot smaller, so it's handy to dig back (on various platforms) and get a sense of Alexa at various points in the story. Although, Alexa's probably a bit lankier than Ann, who if I remember is 5'1" (Alexa's 5'6").
Feel free to DM us with any questions (about this stuff or w/e), we love chatting with folks! Honestly feels surreal to have people calling themselves fans and talking about doing art of something we created, like… Obviously no pressure to follow through, but we'd love to see what y'all come up with!!
Woo, trans! Honestly if we had a do-over, the one thing we'd change is making one or both of the MCs trans. We were just at a weird place with our dysphoria when we started writing it, and by the time we got comfier with things, there wasn't enough support in the story to retcon that. That's probably why we started doing more with Ash, tbh.
Okay, last anecdote here, the system thing is so funny in relation to Calories & Kink, because we didn't know we were plural when we wrote most of it, but we 1000% wrote Alexa and Reggie as individual self-inserts. When one of our partners started reading it, she compared us (still unaware) to Reggie because I fronted more during sex, but Ava, the more frequent fronter at the time, was like, "What? No, I'm way more like Alexa."
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this message <3 We'll be giddy all day now ^^
Promise we'll work on the last few chapters soon--we really do want to give this thing a proper ending.
Take care,
Seija

reference sheet for 'em! Img ID in alt text. ask if you've got questions! i am happy to ramble
this went up a day or so early on patreon / kofi!
Going Name: Tase Full name: Taliesin Archibald Airi (use at own risk) Pronouns: any Height: 6’10 Voice: deep & smooth Ability: Minor Shapeshifting Occupation: Henchman
Charismatic | Canny | Private | Solitary | Observant | Loud | Reserved
Tase has an almost magnetic presence to them. She always manages to be the center of attention in a room, and is very good at reading people and phrasing things accordingly. However, even talking for a while, xe doesn't reveal much about their personal life, private thoughts and feelings, keeping everything close to their vest.
Even to the people that know xem well, ae often needs to be coaxed into admitting whether or not she's doing okay. Part of it is that Tase is used to doing things alone. It's both been beneficial and has gotten them into extensive trouble, but ae prefers to find a solution on her own before turning to others to help, much to the annoyance of everyone around him.
It's very hard to rile them up. Even though their 'indoor voice' is what most would consider more than a little loud, he is very good at keeping calm in stressful situations, and has very few buttons to press to make him genuinely angry or upset. It's not when she's being loud that you should worry; it's when she's talking quietly in a smooth voice like a freshly sharpened knife.
Scar ref & back view below the cut! It does feature top nudity.
(I've given up on trying to figure out who needs covering up or not. and I'm lazy. and I want to show of the scars that had me going ???? at colors for a bit.)

Stitches and Needles Lore…
I suppose I need to explain to you all the lore behind the stitches and needles au….
Welp, buckle up stars cause this is gonna be a lot of reading!
Like I said in the au’s introductory post, the Playfellow studio has been abandoned for years, that is until the main character puppet, Wally, “wakes up”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He finds himself torn and tattered with a bad case of amnesia. If it hadn’t been for a spirit named “Home” (who claimed to originally to possess Wally’s house) than Wally wouldn’t have even remembered his own name.
Home assists Wally in sewing himself back together. Wally has visible patches all over his body, but his most visible trait is his missing eye, replaced with a button.
Tumblr media
(This is the old ref sheet I need to make a new one)
Wally discovers his friends all torn, dismembered, and in worse conditions than he was, and what a puppet would call, dead.
Wally convinces himself that if he fixes his friends than they’d come back to life. His first choice is Barnaby. Of course as he fixed himself and his friend he gains a skill and a passion for sewing.
While Wally works on Barnaby and explores the studio he finds….something
Tumblr media
It’s a needle and thread that he attaches to his ear like an earring. The thread can lengthen itself and doesn’t snap under any tension, and Wally can control where it goes. The needle is sharp and tough so it can stab into anything.
It can be used for grabbing things, hanging down from stuff, holding things, murder, etc.
Once Barnaby is fixed he doesn’t come back, to Wally’s dismay.
However Home has a few tricks up their sleeve and reanimates the blue dog.
Tumblr media
(This is an old one too)
Once Barnaby comes back he has a much better memory than Wally and instantly recognizes his best friend. Once Barnaby learns of the abandoned studio and the other puppets’ lifelessness, he assigns himself as Wally’s bodyguard (in a way). He’s not the most sure about Home but the spirit brought him back to life so he can’t complain.
Tumblr media
Slowly Wally sews the entire cast together in this order: Poppy, Julie, Sally, Eddie, Frank, then Howdy.
Everyone in the cast doesn’t look the same as they used to, a few of them have replaced eyes, missing parts, a ton of patches and etc.
For some reason the largest Puppets have burn marks on some spots of their fabric: Barnaby, Poppy, Howdy, and Eddie.
Wally had to remove Sally’s back rays seeing as they were too damaged to fix, and Julie had to have her hair cut short due to the damage her hair gained from time and dirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Working on Frank’s and Howdy’s designs ((they’re really hard to draw ;-;)))
Once everyone is fixed and back, they turn the abandoned studio into their own kind of home. However although everyone is enjoying life and being back together, Wally’s interests lead elsewhere.
He’s curious about the outside world, and the studio’s secrets. However unlike everyone he carries the burden of lost memory.
Everyone seems to remember their names and personalities and talents just fine, but Wally? He couldn’t even remember how to paint, which everyone told him was his favorite thing to do. He couldn’t remember his “favorite” hobby, how to do his hair, his favorite color or stories or anything! Sometimes he even forgets his own name…
Which only leads him to question what happened to the studio and why they were abandoned. But that’s when we meet someone who can help him in that task
Tumblr media
Darika Collard, a non-binary, puppet enthusiast. They learn of the abandoned studio and a rumor that some of the puppets are still in there, so they decide to check it out not at all expecting to run into Wally.
They wander into his sewing room and they get caught in one of his traps he set for raccoons since one came in and tore up a ton of his fabric.
Once him and Darika are aquatinted and they meet the rest of the cast, Darika asks them what happened to them.
No one knows, or has any memory of the crew or owners of the studio when it was occupied. None of them even know why they were torn.
Darika decides to help them and solve the mystery since she has sources and can interact in the world outside the studio.
Of course Wally joins her in his human disguise (he’s just wearing human clothes and pulls it off) and he helps her solve what happen and slowly reforge his memory.
However the truth that they seek may not be what the main puppet wants to learn of.
And it may just be connected to a certain spirit that only the puppets can see.
Fun facts and more art!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SAN!Wally has a passion for sewing, it’s his favorite thing to do since he can’t paint
He’s also shorter since he had damage to both his legs and lost some cotton so he’s 2ft 10” instead of 3ft
He loves frogs, there’s this one who likes to follow him who he named “Apple”
Don’t make him mess up his stitch when sewing, he will be very angry
He likes climbing on his taller friends since his lost height makes him feel a bit insecure
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone gives Wally fangs most of the time, so I wanted to change it up! Julie actually has the viper like fangs, and Wally has rounded fangs.
(Wally has paw feet :D )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(He also has a character ai that I created if you guys wanna check that out)

with every sin, i still wanna be holy
Dan wants to be better. But that means dealing with his past (future?) actions and starting to make amends and acknowledging how he's hurt these people in his life. It's hard than he'd like to admit. Part of the the world is having more fun than me (tonight) series.
Lancer,
I dunno why I’m writing this. It’s stupid. I’m not even gonna send it. You don’t even know who I am! Clockwork did his meddling with time bullshit so you don’t remember me.
No one remembers me
You were my favorite teacher, yknow. You were the only one who actually gave even a little fuck about me. All my other teachers wrote me off as just another dumb lazy kid. No one knew of course.
Oh I guess I should tell you. I’m… Danny Phantom. Sort of. It’s a big mess of things, but Fenton is Phantom. That little punk Weston kid was right. That's why I missed so many assignments and always fell asleep in class. I promise I wasn’t a bad kid, Mr Lancer.
I guess I just needed to tell you who I was. So you would be understanding or some shit. Maybe so I wouldn’t feel like I failed every adult in my life.
Whatever. It’s not like I’m sending this anyway.
Dan

some more stuff below the cut!
here's a version without the blasts bc im vvv proud of how these hands turned out, considering the weird ass proportions of the cartoon. big thanks to @friendly-neighborhood-imbecille for those hand ref sheets 👉🏼👉🏼 u the realest

GUYS
GUYS LOOK
my friend @i-think-in-metaphors did this amazing commission for me!!! i redid the phantom planet statue for my au, and wrote a scene for one of my upcoming works where mateo gets to see it in person. i finally got tired of imagining it and wanted to see it.
and the product. is. GORGEOUS. it's so perfect. i'm in love. i'm gonna cry about this for the next 30 years. LOOK AT HIM.
(click for quality.)
check out her commissions!!
the scene it's based on is below the cut!
Excerpt from quit telling everyone i'm (permanently) dead! (wip)
The black zirconium statue was larger than life. It towered above them on two separate, stepped obsidian pedestals, each about five-feet high. As Mateo moved closer, he could see something glittering in the bases. Danny mumbled something about ectoplasmic ice mixed into it, stronger than diamonds, but Mateo thought they looked like stars. He figured that was the intention. It was gorgeous.
He tilted his head back to take in the actual sculpture. That Danny was twice as large as the one standing next to Mateo. He felt his heart lurch a little at how serious Danny looked, the tight furrow over his brow, the determined set to his jaw. It all made him look so much older than even now, even though Mateo knew he was only sixteen when the statue was made.
The statue’s zirconium white accents were blinding in the late afternoon sunlight, and Mateo found himself shading his eyes as he looked up even higher. The hair on the statue was shorter than Mateo had seen Danny wear his, probably closer to the length it had been when he was in high school. It was swept back heroically, as if moved by an unseen wind, and the sun glinted off its sharp edges. It made the whole statue look as if it were glowing.
Crystalized ectoplasm made Phantom’s eerie green eyes, and they glowed too, though Mateo figured they probably glowed under their own power rather than a trick of the light. The statue’s eyes were trained on the thin, steel-wire Earth he cupped protectively close to his chest; it was a promise as well as a remembrance. The world remembered what Phantom did for them, and he promised them he would do it all over again if necessary.

Read More for Commission Info!
tl;dnr: $35/$60/$50
Posted: March 3rd/2022
For commission inquiries, email me at [email protected] . Quick inquires can be made by PM on my social media.
Prices are the starting point for a single character or other equivalent subjects (like backgrounds, or large objects like a motorcycle). More complex designs or additional characters/subjects will be at additional cost.
Examples given above are approximate starting examples for the prices listed below, and shown as an example of skill level and quality.
Traditional Inked Lines* (First Row): $35+
Traditional Coloured Markers/Mixed Medium*,** (Second Row): $60+
Digital Art (Lines, Flats & Light Shading) (Third Row): $50+
Sequential Art (sequential edits, small panel comics, full pages, etc...): By request (minimum of twice the listed price above of the equivalent medium, but likely more as these are often time consuming projects).
* For traditional art, I can mail you the finished product, at your expense. I would scan it before sending it to ensure there is a copy immediately available (and in case it is lost in the mail). I typically do not digitally touch up a piece, so the original and the posted version will usually be the same (but I can also digitally touch up pieces to ensure quality standards). However sometimes there are small imperfections in traditional art. If this is a concern for you, do not ask for traditional art.
** For coloured/mixed medium, I am limited to colours I have, or can blend. If you require a specific colour matched for your design, I can hunt it down but this will have to be at an additional expense.
Conditions
Payment is expected up front, in full. I use paypal.
All prices listed are for personal use. If looking for commercial use in any capacity, prices will be negotiated at that time.
I only plan to take 1 commission at a time, and unless something happens I should be able to turn it around in a week or so. I reserve the right to take longer, but if it will be longer than a week I will give you some warning (unless I am incapacitated or something)
Digital art I will share with you, watermarked, once I get to the lines and allow a chance for minor edits. I will only do major edits if an error was made on my part.
References are extremely encouraged! It doesn’t have to be a professional ref sheet, a scribble by you with some colours added in mspaint makes a world of difference over nothing.
Traditional art is what you see is what you get - if there is an error on my part then alterations can be made.
Art can be posted anonymously, let me know immediately
If you do not want the art posted, let me know immediately. This will also be at an extra fee.
NSFW is permitted, but see below for additional conditions.
NSFW Art
I will do artistic or explicit nudity. All at additional cost: I have a child, and will need to use my very rare & limited spare time when she is not around to work on this.
Soft kinks are fine to ask about. Hard kinks are a hard no. Requests for underaged characters, aged up or otherwise will result in a hard block.

Let me help you
Pairing:  Alpha! Toru Oikawa x Omega! Reader, Alpha! Hajime Iwaizumi x Omega! Reader
Genre: Angst, fluff, Hurt/comfort.
Request: Because I like a bit of hurt/comfort, and I love the idea of an omega depression, I'm curious on how alpha third years on Aoba Johsai (so like Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Mattsun) would do in response to their omega being in an omega depression.
Summary: Because of unseen circumstances, you drop, and you drop hard. How does your alpha help you/redeem himself?
Author’s Note:  Oikawa’s got really long, so I didn’t include Mattsun or Makki. If you wanna request a part 2 I’ll get on it right away!
Requests: Open!
Tumblr media
Toru Oikawa
➵ Truth be told, it was kind of his fault.
➵Right after you both bonded, he immediately seemed to drop any redeeming qualities he had while courting you.
➵He skipped out on dates, stayed later and later at practice, gave the mile to his fangirls.
➵And while you could get over that, the worse thing you realized was when you went to cheer him on at one of his games.
➵His bond mark was covered with a scent gland bandage and when Iwaizumi noticed it (He knew of your bonding), he sent a worried glance your way.
➵He could practically see the heartbreak from his place on the court.
➵What was worse was that you didn’t make a scene.
➵You stood, turned and left. That was it.
➵ Oikawa was busy doing his pre-game whatever to notice, making the situation even worse.
➵Iwaizumi wanted to follow you but the whistle of the ref called him back.
➵ You didn’t want Iwaizumi to follow you anyway.
➵You felt numb. So, so numb.
➵Like anything you previously felt-- any longing, or wishing for your alpha-- reduced to a numb buzz that kept your body moving.
➵You felt like you were on Autopilot.
➵Toru made it fairly obvious that he wanted your bond mark on display, so why weren’t the same standards held to him? It wasn’t against the rules of volleyball-- several alphas had theirs out on proud display with their omega cheering in the stands.
➵Was it you?
➵God, you felt so empty. Like your will to live was dripping away.
➵You felt your omega lay down, whining as they tried to figure out what was wrong. Where did you go wrong?
➵You barely felt the soft fleece of your blankets as you settled into your nest for who knows how long.
___
Toru was lost. You were in the stands during warm-up last game, but was gone by half-time. Okay, fine. Maybe you had to pee. But then you didn’t show up at all after that.  While at the time it took a back burner-- because we all know how Oikawa plays-- it was now front and center. His alpha was on edge and snapped on him twice already, sending sharp throbs of pain to his temples. It had been three days since Toru had seen you, his mate, so Toru could tell that was a big reason for his frustration. But Toru didn’t know why you had been gone for three days.
If you were sick, why didn’t you text him? Were you injured? Toru didn’t know.  His neck burnt with anticipation at the thought of you in any peril.
Where were you?
Shoving his way past a few fangirls, Toru made his way into the gym, racking his brain for any sort of hint. Vacation maybe and you just forgot to tell him?
“Iwa-chan! I need your-” Toru paused, huffing when Iwaizumi roughly shoved past him. His alpha was on guard immediately, making Toru growl loudly.   “What’s you issue, Iwa? Blue-balled or something?”
The laugh that left Iwaizumi made even him, the head alpha, shiver. “My issue? What’s yours?! You absolutely destroyed your relationship last game and ask me for help?! What the hell is wrong with you, Oikawa?!”
Oikawa swallowed. There was no nickname. No sense of friendship in his words. They were straight malice, laced with acidic venom meant to hurt him.
When Oikawa didn’t immediately answer, Iwaizumi continued. “You make them wear their bond mark for all the world to see, but cover yours up? What in the actual fuck is wrong with you?! How in the hell you got someone like them to glance your way for more than a second is beyond me, let alone bond you; but when you do, you fucking destroy them. You’re a failure of an alpha, Toru Oikawa.”
Truth be told, Oikawa thought that him covering up his bond mark would save you from trouble. The less people who knew about him being mated the less people to harass you. But he was your alpha. He was supposed to make sure that didn’t happen anyway.  Fuck, Iwa was right. He was a failure. This became evident as more and more things came hurdling back at him.  He didn’t even grab his duffel before he was, quite literally, sprinting out of the gym. He didn’t care who he pushed over. He didn’t care who he snapped at. He didn’t care. He only care about one person and one person alone.
___
You whined as hunger continued gnawing at your gut. You wanted to eat, really, but you just didn’t have the energy. You didn’t have the will.
You still felt so numb and didn’t know where to go from here. At this point, it was clear you were in the midst of an Omega Depression, and to be fair-- that scared you. You wanted to spend the evening in your nest, restart and reboot, before talking to your alpha about it the next day. You truly didn’t mean to drop.
But here you were. The aspect of ...starvation scared you. The aspect of no closure for yourself scared you. Death scared you. But you couldn’t fight yourself to fix it. Couldn’t bring yourself to even lift your head or stay awake for more than an hour.
The door to your room slammed open, but you didn’t look up. It was probably your guardian coming in to try and get you to eat again. But you wouldn’t.
Your heart dropped when the smell of burnt plastic invaded your sense.
“No- no, no, no, no no- Please god no-” Oikawa felt his heart shatter at the sight of you. You looked like you had both feet dangling in the grave, hanging on by a loose root you grabbed onto in a last ditch effort.
He continued repeating no while running his hands through his hair, already crying before he even set foot in your room.  When he did dare step closer, that was all it took before he was running to you, pulling you in close despite your whines of protest.  His grip on you was bruising, but he couldn’t risk letting you slip. Not again.
“Please- please don’t leave me.” He sobbed into your shoulder, your own eyes stinging (Dehydration keeping tears from falling).  “I- I can fix this- I can fix us. Fuck- Please Y/N. Please omega, let me help you. Let me make this right!”
Though you didn’t say anything, the grip on his jacket told him all he needed to know. And though it would be a long road to recovery, you and him would conquer it.

➵ Completely contrary to Oikawa, your drop wasn’t anyone’s fault.
➵Maybe the school systems, if there was blame to be put.
➵So much had gone on in such a short period.
➵You and your alpha, along with his team, had been bombarded with practice and paperwork in preparation for the upcoming tournament.
➵But just because volleyball picked, doesn’t mean school drops off.
➵ You had essay after essay due, Unit exams which would soon fall into Final exams.
➵You and Hajime had barely even seen each other all week.
➵You both still sent each other good morning and good night texts, and if you see each other in the hallway you’ll give each other a quick peck.
➵Honestly, it was obvious everyone was on edge.
➵Teachers didn’t care though, they just kept piling on more, and more, and more work.
➵ And volleyball just kept getting closer and closer.
➵You stumbled into the gym with a chirp, trying to sort through the multitude of papers in your arms.
➵Your back was aching and your arms were strained, but you couldn’t drop them. That would be a disaster.
➵ The coach sent you a raised brow, offering a hand to help. You waved him off, sitting on the bench with a grunt.
➵Everyone was already sweaty and panting, practice in full swing.
➵God, everyone looked so tired already.
➵You could feel the waves of exhaustion.
➵ As they were just in deep in your bones as they were in theirs.
___
“Did you finish filling out the registry forms?”
You looked up to the coach, nodding slowly before riffling through your papers and pulling out the ones you were looking for. You handed them to the beta, quickly going back to your notes once more.
You noted the stumbled steps and slowed reflexes, but simply made it a point to emphasize rest with the boys. Maybe a day with no practice would do them more good then practice.
Hajime was doing well, as usual, somehow keeping his head and energy high. You know he hasn’t gotten much rest either, and you felt for your alpha. Honestly, you just wanted one day with just you and your alpha, where you both could sleep the day away and come back good as new.
That just sounded glorious.
“You wouldn’t mind filling out the ref sheets either, would you?” The beta smirked, already handing you the sheets. He knew you had a tough time saying no to people older and/or bigger than you; and had you doing several things that most mangers would never touch.
It was tiring.
You reluctantly took the sheets, already starting on them. The notes you were working on were yanking from under you, the coach reading over them.
He scoffed at your note of possibly skipping a practice. “Are you serious?”
“I’m sorry?”
“Take a break?! These boys are on the brink of a skillful breakthrough, and you want to stop them?!”
You closed in on yourself at the yells, trying to focus on the ref sheets. He continued yelling and berating you for the notes you made. You could feel the teams stares on you, but you also knew they wanted you to learn to stand up for yourself. They had been giving you a few minutes to try and collect yourself and if nothing happened they would step in.
It only took seconds for you to finally break down, sobbing into your hands as the coach’s yelling reached a breaking point. The team took very time to act then and there.
Oikawa and Kyoutani were snapping and growling, pushing him back and away from you while Hajime slid onto his knees in front of you, pulling you to his chest and kissing your bond mark. He rocked you side to side, purring and letting you cry.
You sobbed and sobbed while the coach tried backtracking, but it was too late. The pack was on defense. One of them was in danger and they were going to make sure they all were safe.
___
You don’t remember falling asleep, but when you wake up, your in Hajime’s arms, which are wrapped tight around your waist.
Oikawa was on the other side of you, head on Hajime’s thigh, Makki and Mattsun were cuddling together a little to the left of you. Kyoutani was closest to you (He had a soft spot for you, almost like you were another older sister to him). You ran a hand through his hair for a moment before taking a deep breath in and out. The rest of the team was scattered in the puppy pile around you, and the gym was dark.
In fact, everything was dark. There were chairs propped up by the door, just in case you supposed, and there were jackets littered everywhere. Your heart fluttered at the thought.
Hajime’s arms subconsciously tightened around you, luring you back into sleep.
You, your alpha, and your pack.

Now for the last of my currently-completed ref sheets (but not the last of the images overall). I know I only made Sunbeam's ref sheet a few months ago, but something about the anatomy of it just bothers me, maybe the way her head is tilted is part of it, it's like I have trouble reading her build and her pattern because of the way she's posed. So, in honor of River's release, I decided to spruce up my girl's ref sheet. ^^ So here's a lovely Sunbeam to celebrate River's release!
You can find the reverse side of her design here. Some of the description is going to be copied and pasted from the last ref sheet, since I didn't actually make any changes to her design, I just changed the pose to make the anatomy look better.
She has no physical description other than color and pattern, but on the cover of River she looks like a sturdy sort of girl with a thick pelt, so that's what I went with here. ^^ She's a decently sized girl, a sturdy build, and nice thick, medium/long fur and tufted ears. I used this image as a reference. I gave her very few scars, since she's old enough to have been in the Sisters and Impostor battles, although neither has been confirmed, so it's hard to say whether she should have scars at all or not. It's funny - her older sister is a skinny sort of toothpick of a cat, but Sunbeam looks nothing like her - I am a sucker for a larger she-cat, though, so I'm fine with that. ^^
For her pattern, Sunbeam is described as a brown tabby-and-white she-cat with amber eyes. I went with a nice medium brown for her coat, and I had a lot of fun coming up with her pattern.  I'm really happy with how she turned out, I think she looks very pretty. I gave her that big circular marking on her sides to sort of look like a sun - bit of a stretch, but I wanted some reference to her name that still looked natural.
Overall, I'm really, really, really happy with how she turned out, I think she looks gorgeous, as she well deserves to.

#13 - Oneirophrenia
CW: Death, Depictions of abuse.
Time held little meaning for the dying.
Enguerrand de Dzemael's world had shrunk to his sheets and blankets, the view of the velvet canopy hanging above the bed. Dusty, faded, should have been replaced years ago. When the children had come back they'd shrouded the window against a view. For your rest, Father. One or the other of them said, one pale face or the other leaning down to peer over him.
One of them (the girl?) read the Enchiridion aloud for hours, but the words were unfamiliar, revised, new. One of them (the boy?) sat in silence and gripped his hand with a swordsman's callused strength.
"My Gridanian barbarians." He murmured when he had strength to speak. "My Twin Adders." And they smiled, one or the other, and pretended they were mute like they had before their tutors had coaxed them to speaking.
And they came and went, and came and went. Came less and went more. And when they were gone there was only time. And the sheets and velvet that was now his entire world.
---
Be careful what you keep close. I should hope you know better than to repeat your lord father's...errors.
"Jannisoix, I know. But you know how it looks out here, and it's just not fit that they run around like heathens. No discipline or manners. Trouble enough keeping the girl out of her brothers clothes already so they can get up to mischief..."
Mmm. You ought to watch that when they get older, in both of them.
----
"What is this? It looks like an Ixal wrote it."
A...petition, my lord. From Master Ancelin and his Mistress.
"A petition for - ....oh, nevermind. Has the Count sent his new estimates for how much more excavation...oh, here they are....."
"......"
"...do you know when the boy's due in the yard next? It's been too long since I've gone to see how he's coming along."
--
"All" Our workers lost, you said."
...aye, my lord. The children....
"Oh, just find wherever they've gotten off to and bring them here, I'll tell them myself."
---
A pilgrimage through Daniffen's Pass, my lord, may do the young master well. Settle the restless spirit .I'd like to help him find a.....balance. If you will.
"Thank you, Ser Erembourc. Your council is worth every coin I paid for it."
--
"Look, my girl, I know it's been hard here after your faithless brother abandoned us, but you must understand..."
But I've already gotten sponsorship to the Athaeneum! Please! Let me bring honor to you some other way! Any other way!
----
"The Convictory?! Of all the low places....."
Apparently, my lord. But...no longer. The...ser is on his way back to the Holy See, we've heard. The Knights Dragoon have found him a place.
"Well!, Redeemed himself at the last! Send word to the Observatorium and fetch the girl home. We can go and greet our little prodigal together as a family"
...my lord, there's something you should know.
"...oh. They. Nevermind. I don't want to see either of them. Send no word. Let him spend his holidays alone in the barracks. He can earn his grace dying to the dragons if that's what he wants."
-----
So you've come after all, Enguerrand. I was wondering if it would be you.
"Felice, I - "
---
Enguerrands eyes snapped open as is waking from a dream. His sickroom was uncomfortably hot, the sheets of the bed wrapped around him so tightly. His feeble hands struggled to part them, lifted to brush the soft velvet of the bed's canopy. Had the ratty piece of cloth finally slipped its holdings, fallen at the last?
Down the hall, he could - but faintly - hear the voices of the children. Conspiring again. Always conspiring when they thought noone was paying attention.
---
I can’t believe it’s finally fucking over.
Thank the Fury for small miracles,I guess.

Meet Raineye! She’s my Warrior cat-sona. She cries a 𝘭𝘰𝘵 and I love her dearly.
It feels weird making a Warrior cat-sona! I haven’t made one since I was in 4th grade (I rollplayed as a cat named Mintystar during recess w/ my still best friend Scarlett)
If any part of the ref sheet is hard to read, let me know and I’ll explain
I wish I added more to her ref sheet tbh
Random fun fact about her: Whenever someone sneezes or coughs or something, she responds with, “Don’t die, it’s bad for your health!”

Jay Conner:
Oh, that’s great. Well, Carol joy and I we’ve already got our plane tickets. We’ve got our hotel reservations. So I look forward to seeing you in Scottsdale in just a few short weeks, right around the corner.
Scott Meyer:
Likewise can’t wait. Absolutely.
Jay Conner:
Well, Scott, as I told everybody in the introduction, I mean your expertise, your wheelhouses self storage and self storage facilities, but before we get into that world and your arena, first of all, just tell everybody how you got into real estate.
Scott Meyer:
Yeah. Wow. I think probably like most people out there started with the single family house and I learned from, and many folks on here will this name and a whole lot won’t Carleton sheets, who was one of the grandfathers along with Ron Legrand and some of the others that taught people how to get into real estate. So I followed this program to buy houses, rehab them refund, and some rent them out and then replicate and do that over and over again. So the burn method before it was called the bird method. And so that’s how we got started bought a single family house. This was back in 1993 was the first one that I ever bought. It had an assumable VA mortgage on it, which I don’t think there’s any of those left out there any longer and allowed me to get in and just assume that mortgage with very little experience in the way of even credit history at the time, it was a pretty young guy at the time, as you can tell by my age now and doing the math.
So that’s how it started. And then we moved on to buying up more. We refinanced about two more houses than we need to fix them up refinance and buy more. So we had about 75 in 76 houses and didn’t really have the cashflow and the, the, you know, the freedom that we wanted that Carlton sheets had mentioned in the home study system. So we thought, well, economies of scale will fix this. So we started getting into apartments and buying several complexes around central Indiana, but same thing and just kind of bought us more tenants, toilets, trash headaches, and the business model just wasn’t right for us. We wanted to have time. We wanted the freedom that real estate brings. And so to do that in real estate, that means no tenants, no toilets. So that’s either parking lots or self storage, and you can’t really build a lot of value in, in parking lots.
And then we found, but once I dug into self storage, I realized that, ah, this is, this is a place I need to be. People don’t pay rent. You lock them out and you sell their stuff off and get paid. You turn it around by taking a blower and you blow the unit out with no paint, no carpet, no extensive clean-out or repairs. And once I more, the more I looked into the business, I really saw the light and decided that this is the path I wanted to take. So sold their houses, our apartments, and now we’ve gone just, you know, 100% into self storage made that transition about 2005 to where we are now, today, which is where you mentioned Jay, we, we buy existing facilities. Still. That same model is in place. We also convert industrial buildings, grocery stores, anything that is, can be repurposed into so storage, we’ll buy it and convert it. And then we build from the ground up and we do a lot of this on by partnering and doing joint ventures and then syndicating the private equity, which is where you come in, Jay and you know, all too well, what that looks like and how we can leverage other people’s money and bring them along as limited partners to enjoy in the growth in this incredible business. So I hope that wasn’t longer than what you were looking for, but that’s, that’s my story.
Jay Conner:
No, that was perfect. Well, tell us the story about your very first self storage facility that you got into and, and what lessons did you learn from that first deal?
Scott Meyer:
Yeah, so the F the very first facility that I got into was a, that we were sending out mailers to facility owners, just like we all do in real estate to the asset class that we’re in. And we ran across some business owners and they were getting a business, a divorce. They were partners in a concrete business and things weren’t going so well. And they wanted, they were parting ways. And this facility, they owned together as well. Well, they, as what happens, unfortunately in the worst is the other one, one side wants to hurt the other. And the other one definitely wants to destroy the other one. And so that’s what they were doing. And they were destroying the value of the facility in the meantime. And so what that meant is we were able to get into this a facility for it, was it appraised for $800,000 more than what the selling price was?
And they just had to get out from under the note, because those two had done such a good job of fighting each other, that the bank was about ready to take the facility back. So I partnered, I partnered up with a gentleman. We came in at 50, 50 cash and both on the balance sheet and excuse me, on the loan request and ended up moving forward on this first property, by taking the existing tenants and raising the rates, which they hadn’t been raised in 10 years, we let them manage, well, let me see. We didn’t let her, we freed up her future to pursue other career opportunities and put a kiosk in place because we don’t have to manage these facilities with a person on site. And then we bought the land next door and expanded and built that up and leased that up as well.
So I sold off to my partner eventually. And that leads to, I guess, the second part of your question, Jay, which is what did I learn from this? Well, first of all, I, I understood the power of leveraging and bringing partners in to projects. But I also, the lesson I learned is that I, I really want to be in that manager position. I wanted to have that control rather than 50 50, and it’s not a control issue. It’s just that, you know, once I learned about syndication and moving on to other projects, that I can be the syndicator, the promoter, and the person who is calling the shots, and I can bring in limited partners for sometimes their balance sheets to sign on the loan as well. But mostly for the equity that is, that is required to get into a facility. So that was probably the biggest lesson. And I also learned, sometimes you shouldn’t bring people that are close to you or friends into a business as well. Sometimes it doesn’t always turn out well. Yeah. Yes.
Jay Conner:
I’ve been, I’ve been down that road myself as well. So to make sure everybody understands what you’re talking about, what do you mean by syndication? What’s that look like? And what’s the benefits of it.
Scott Meyer:
Yeah. So in the true sec definition, and I am paraphrasing, anytime you bring two or more people together into a project, and in this instance, a real estate investment where one person is, is active, doing all the heavy lifting, doing all the work, and the other person is bringing money and they’re passive. They don’t have a hand in making decisions or doing any of the project management in a project. Then, then you’ve created a security and then it’s governed by the securities and exchange commission. And so they state that you have to file that, and you have to register with the, depending on the fund or the entity that you set up that has to be registered. So for us, that is a true, so for us, there was one person, as I just mentioned me that I am the promoter. I am the active person on the investment.
Whereas I bring in then a lot of private equity, a lot of limited partners that come into the project. They don’t lend a hand. They’re not involved in the decision making process. And what they’re lending is money into the project. They’re investing into the project with me. And so their role and responsibility is to wire, the funds to close the project. And my responsibility is to do everything else, report back to them, the progress show, the projections and how we are exceeding, hopefully meeting, or if we are underperforming on our projections and then send out to our K ones at the end of the year, because they do become owners of this entity. And they get to participate in the upside as well as in the depreciation as well. So that’s, and I guess a limited sense without getting too far in the weeds, Jay, is, is the definition of a syndication and how we go about approaching the market. Yeah.
Jay Conner:
So, you know, in the world of single family houses, there’s multiple exit strategies. There’s multiple strategies of what someone’s going to do with that property after they invest in it, you know, you can, you can buy a single family house, you can fix it up, you can flip it, you can wholesale houses and, you know, wholesale houses out through other real estate investors. You can buy houses and you can fix them up and you can hold them, you know, for the longterm. So compare self storage to what I just did with single family houses. Are there all these different strategies as to how you can go about the self storage business. And second part of that question is if there are different strategies, how do you decide which one you’re going to do?
Scott Meyer:
Yeah, I’d say property is property. And, you know, in a general sense, and you can do all of the above. You know, we buy them and wholesale them, or sometimes a wholesale without us ever taking ownership or taking deed to the property. You can buy them, you can fix them up, turn around and flip them. You can buy them and turn them around partially, and then sell them off and call it a flip or non you sell them to the next person down the road. That’s going to take it the rest of the way, the way that we do it is typically we’re a longer-term hold three to five years. That gives us time to in an existing facility, really turn it around, raise rates, make the improvements, and reduce the expenses as much as possible to maximize the net operating income and then sell it for maximum dollar, our conversions and development.
You know, those projects take roughly four to five years to either buy a building, say a vacant grocery store and convert it to self storage, and then start from ground zero. And at least it up to 80, 85% occupancy and bring in our limited partners and allow them to have a payday and an exit that is comparable to if they were to invest in any other type of entity, a business over that time, and really focusing on the internal rate of return and the same goes for development. So in terms of an exit strategy, it’s a little more difficult in, in the way that we head into those larger projects with our partners in that we can’t do a 10 31, unless everybody decides to go along with us into the next project, which obviously they’re not going to. So at that point we will sell and that we will take our profits off the table.
And then we will move into the next project for our limited partners. For the most part, they are investing through a retirement vehicle like a self-directed IRA or a solo or a real estate 401k. So they don’t really have those tax consequences at, at, at the exit. We also are looking at in terms of an exit strategy. And I guess to back up a step, you know, Jay, I think you, and hopefully everybody on this call recognizes that you, you should always look at the exit strategy or determine what your exit strategy is before you get into a project. It’s not a good plan to just don’t say, well, there’s a good deal. I’m just going to buy it and figure it out later. You can find yourself, maybe a do not, you know, don’t want her later on down the road, or you sit back and take a look at your empire and you realize what a mess.
I can’t even manage this because I never paid any attention to what I was doing. So every time we hit into a project, you know, we identify if it’s a good deal, are we going to keep it? You know, if we’re going to flip this thing in a year, then we’ve got some, you know, capital short-term capital gains taxes. That’s a consideration. If we own it solely, then we can do a 10 31 into something else on. Do we want to do that three years from now? And I’m saying at any point in time, do we want to do that two or three years from now? Where, what are the interest rates going to be and what our cap rates going to be, and how do we expect the market and the economy? What’s it gonna look like? So we’re, we’re always looking six months a year down the road, five years down the road and anticipating what’s going on with the market, meaning interest rates and our capitalization rates, which is how we value these facilities.
And then overall, does this really fit in our business plan? I suffer like everybody from shiny object itis, and I want to buy them all, you know, if somebody else buys a self-storage facility and develop those one, and I’m going down the road, I was just like, that should have been mine. I should have built that. I should have bought that. And it’s a, it’s a real struggle. But if we get into that, you know, we can paint ourselves into a corner if we get into that situation where we just, you know, every once in a while we have to say no. Yeah, for sure.
Jay Conner:
So just to make sure everybody knows before, anybody’s got to jump off a listing here to the podcast. How can people get in contact with you and your companies, Scott, to learn more about what you do and how you can help them in this area of self storage?
Scott Meyer:
Sure. So we go into self storage, investing.com. That is the mothership, and there’s a links to our other websites that focus on the passive investing side of the business. But self-storage investing.com is really the mothership. And, and this is where we’ve been at this longer than anybody in the business and teaching people the right way to go about investing in self storage. I’m just in hopes that once again, you know, a rising tide raises all ships and so that we want everybody to be as educated as possible to go out into the marketplace before they do this to avoid any mistakes. And then also, you know, that just kind of makes it more difficult for the rest of us, that there are a lot of gunslingers out there that aren’t really doing their due diligence and doing things the right way. So that is our, our main purpose in educating people in the business. Cause it just makes it easier for all of us to conduct business in this incredible niche. Exactly.
Jay Conner:
So if you’re remotely interested folks and connecting them with Scott and his team, that website again is www dot self storage, investing.com, self storage, investing.com. We’re coming out here, hopefully on the other side of COVID and the pandemic and all that stuff. What are you seeing in the self storage industry? I mean, overall nationwide is the industry growing, how has COVID affected self storage?
Scott Meyer:
Yeah. Self storage is on a tear right now. I mean, if you look at the asset classes in real estate, no matter what stat you look at in terms of, you know, which asset class has done well, of course I’m biased, but the stats don’t lie, self storage and industrial are right up at the top. I think data centers may be up there as well. Industrial has done really well with Amazon expanding and, and the supporters of the Amazon and the distribution centers that are now coming down to the smaller market size. And, and as we see, unfortunately, the slow death of retail, the, the industrial side and the industrial sector has benefited greatly and self storage because we are heading into a time where we’re heading into a recession. Again, we also have seen now people come home from work and they had to clear out the dining room, the spare bedroom, the spare of family room, or living room and create a workspace for one of the income earners.
And sometimes too, they also last year during the lockdown, you know, when everybody was sent home from school, the colleges shut down and, and the kids had to put all their stuff into storage again, until they were able to go back. The kids that were in K through 12 came home, and we also had to make room in our homes to do school at home as well. So clearing out more furniture to make all of that happen. And then unfortunately there’s a whole lot of businesses that immediately when, when the lockdown started, it just went under because you know, customers are go figure on the lifeblood of their business. And if they couldn’t do it online, they went under. And so their inventory machinery and furniture, business furniture went into storage. And so, you know, we see this was somewhat of a microcosm of what we see during a recession and self storage really benefits during a recession because businesses downsize and put their things in storage, individuals downsized during a recession, they may have to move in with somebody else, a friend or move back home.
And so their extra stuff goes into storage. And so we, we, we spritz traditionally has always done better. You know, we go up to the right during times people buy more stuff and they store more stuff. That’s the nature of what we do here in this country. And if that’s you on behalf of the industry, I thank you for that mentality in this country. But during a recession, you know, we get the hockey stick effect. And then that’s when banks slow down development slows down of all sorts and then demand for self storage goes up. And so that’s what we saw during the pandemic last year. And 2020 was an absolute banner year for our industry. We have been, we have been contactless and touchless since before it was cool to be contactless and touchless using kiosks to rent a unit, much like a kiosk because self storage, you know, renting a unit is a very low labor intensive transaction that can be done over the internet.
And it can be done by way of a cell phone access to our facility, our software, getting a gate code and even a key fob and access on the phone to access a unit can all be done by way of a smartphone as well. So J we don’t, we don’t celebrate recessions personally, nor my company. We don’t celebrate pandemics for now shakes, but our, our industry, I’m, I’m thankful for the industry that we’re in because we have benefited with a huge wind in our sail, not only during a recession as we’re going to pet into again, but then the pandemic, which kind of accelerated that has really benefited our industry. Well, you know,
Jay Conner:
No business thrives, unless it’s solving a lot of people’s problems. And that’s what, and that’s what you and your company and the industry is doing. I mean, due to the pandemic, you got all this and increased demand for people needing to put their stuff somewhere. And unless your industry comes along and provides a place to put their stuff, then you know, you’re not a, you’re not solving that problem. So it’s what is, so let’s say someone is, and I’ll tell you, it’s the same thing as going on around here. It’s like here in my little area where Carol joy and I live total, total area of only 40,000 people, I know of four brand new self storage facilities that are under construction right now, four of them. And we already got them everywhere. It’s like my lands, people must have a whole, much more stuff. It’s just like, it’s crazy. It’s crazy. How are you? Are you doing new construction these days? Are you still focusing on existing facilities?
Scott Meyer:
Well, a little bit of both, we are, we were really focused on in 2020 on construction. We had some projects already in the pipeline and then also picked up some others from some folks that while we’re just kind of taking the ball the rest the way down the field, some folks that had some stalls due to due to COVID and some funding issues. And so absolutely we’ve been known developing for a number of years. Now, we’ve got the team, we’ve got the experience. We’re in several markets where we know where the demand is, and we just know it’s a business model that we can replicate over and over again, that allows us to look at a market. And, and Jay, if I could, just the reason why we see so many opportunities and why you’re seeing the say, four facilities going up in your town is a lot of folks will think, well, wait, I see these things everywhere.
Isn’t the market saturated. And you know, how can we possibly, you know, have enough demand for this, but, you know, when we go into a market and we’re looking at it in a place that potentially maybe good for developing a self storage facility, there’s a lot of research that goes into that. First of all, our market is really five mile radius. That’s all the further people are going to travel to a self storage facility from their home is about five miles. And so within that five miles, if the facility is the 1, 2, 3, 4 facilities are full, have a waiting list. And the raising rates every three or four months, then we know what equilibrium is in a market. And it’s, you know, anywhere from five and a half to six and a half, you know, five and a half to six and a half square foot per person.
And anytime that we’re below that if there’s only three or four square foot per person, we know that there’s a lot of demand in that market. So that, and rental rates will dictate when we’re going to go in and build. So it’s not a build it and they will come or hope that they will come and just, you know, hope is not a strategy. And we spend millions of dollars on these facilities. And so that is the reason why we’re seeing a lot about construction. And so we absolutely are bullish because of all the factors that I just mentioned that are, that are occurring in the market right now, which is creating a huge surge in demand for storage.
Jay Conner:
If someone is brand new to self storage, and they’re really interested in exploring it and, you know, really want to see if this makes sense for them, what’s the best way for a brand new person to even get started? Where do they start looking?
Scott Meyer:
Well, I think it starts with, with learning so that they know what they are looking for. And so no shameless plug, but we just got a lot of free resources on our website. Again, just to help people, you don’t have to spend a dime on it, just so you know, what you’re looking at and looking for, then begin to seek out if you’re a part of a real estate investor group in your city and there’s people that are in stores and then strike up a conversation. I I’d asked you to ask them to go out to lunch, to pick their brain, but we know that there’s a whole lot of folks that maybe aren’t interested in doing that these days, but if you can strike up a friendship, get into a conversation or even a subgroup, and some of these other real estate investor circles, or online with several meetups around at your area, then that’s the best way to get plugged in and just sit back and be a consumer of the information and to be a student of the industry to know what’s going on.
There’s I was in single family homes for a number of years. I was in commercial real estate being multifamily. And although a lot of that skillset applies and I’m looking at leverage and cap rates and underwriting, it’s a different business. And so to understand the nuances is really key before you take a take that next and first step, and we’ve seen, as you can imagine in our, on the education side of our business, we’ve seen a lot of folks that have taken that first step and they, and they stepped in a lot of do-do and create a lot of mistakes and messes for themselves. And men have come to us to help them unwind it and get out of it or to survive that one, you know, lose the battle, but win the war by understanding what it takes to succeed on the next one.
So, and then temper that with, you know, don’t, don’t analyze too much or, you know, analysis paralysis by analysis and analysis that causes paralysis. You, you, you know, the saying that to spend too much time researching before you do actually pull the trigger. So learn about the business, get some good advisors and mentors around you before, you know, to put some eyeballs on your underwriting and your offers, and obviously the good legal team or, or a, an attorney to look at your contracts before moving forward. Those are probably the best ways to Intuit, to avoid getting into a catastrophe. My
Jay Conner:
Good friend and guest today is Scott Myers, founder of self storage, investing.com. Be sure and check out his website for the free training and resources that he has there. One last question for you, Scott. And that is what are the most common mistakes or some of the most common mistakes that new real estate investors in self storage makes.
Scott Meyer:
Yeah, I’m writing a book on it as we speak, that’s going to be out before long. So I got 101 of them because that’s the title of the book. So I’ll, I’ll focus on how about the overarching one. And that is I think, and perhaps I’m guilty of this, you know, we’ve been teaching and training people how to do this for 16 years. And, you know, we, we, we state that it is a very simple and predictable business model because it’s compared to other businesses. It is, it’s a simpler and predictable business model. You know, we know the numbers, we know the equilibriums and we can go into a, an existing facility or a development project and make our projections and darn near hit our marks and, and beat them almost every time. But so I, I say that I’m, I’m a product of that.
And that is, I think people have heard that enough. And they’ve heard that, you know, this is a simple, less moving parts. You know, you don’t have the rehabs, you know, lock them out. They don’t pay their money and then you just blow it out and you’re done. You move on to the next and all that’s true, but it’s not a hobby. I mean, this is a business and you have to treat it as such and you have to walk the four corners of your business, and you have to understand it before you get in you. As most people know that are in commercial real estate, you make a $10,000 mistake in your underwriting, meaning you miss some expenses by 5,000 and you missed them. You know, they overstated the income for late fees and other things that shouldn’t have been counted. Well, a $10,000 mistake and underwriting is a hundred to $120,000 in value that you would over pay for a facility.
So you need to understand the nuances, how to value them, how to underwrite them before putting offers, in understanding how to analyze the market. And then for gosh sakes, I’m you don’t take your hands off the wheel and assume that this is a mailbox business because no rental businesses, I don’t care who you said listen to, or, or who says it. It’s not, it’s a business and a business needs to be tended. So a long-winded answer to your question, Jay. But the mistake that people make is that they think, and they hear and assume that it is a simple business because it’s simpler than what they were doing before, but it, it means that they have to understand it and they have to tend it. And, and you do have to farm the business once you own it. And constantly be working, looking at ways to grow occupancy, to grow rates and reduce expenses. And that is perpetual, and that is on a regular basis.
Jay Conner:
In other words, folks, don’t start doing this business without joining hips with somebody that knows what they’re doing, right. And of course, Scott Myers is the expert in this arena. Scott final comments and advice.
Scott Meyer:
Final comments change is good to see again, my friend, I can’t wait to, to see each other. I can’t hold that back. And so you always make me smile and I’m looking forward to hopefully getting together and having dinner together as well with you and Carol joy. And maybe we can get that old gray hair gentlemen, to pay our bill next time again, too, that might be nice and fight from that gang. It’s an exciting time to be in a, in real estate. There’s certainly a lot of changes and there’s some potential threats that are out there, but it’s when everybody’s running out that you should be not just running in again and shooting from the hip, but understanding, you know, what it means to be in the real estate asset class and investing the way and where you should be investing. But now it’s absolutely an exciting time to be doing so. So with that, just great to be here. I’m thankful for the industry of the real estate industry and self storage and a happy to help and assist anyone anywhere along the way that we can. And just be kind, just, just choose to be kind how’s that after a long weekend, so far, and it’s only Tuesday, I’ve had some difficult conversations. So how about I leave it with, let’s just choose to be kind to one another.
Jay Conner:
I love it. There you have it. Folks. My good friend and expert in self storage, Scott Meyers, visit him at www dot self storage, investing.com. Well, so glad to have everyone here on the show. I’m Jay Conner, the private money authority wishing you all the best here’s to taking your business to the next level. And we’ll see you right here on the next private money academy podcast.

storyline rundown
part two
tw: profanity !! a bit of gore and such
the story begins on kakarot's farm! he lives with his parents, bardock and gine, and his brother raditz.
kakarot takes his produce to the market to sell, talking to krillin who is a police officer watching over in case of robbery or stolen goods, with his wife 18 and his daughter marron.
he hangs out there and sells all his produce, making a whopping amount of money to give back to his mother to go towards their farm. so thats what he does.
later that night, raditz barged in through the door, huffing loudly and covered in purple blood. it had a reddish tint. gine and bardock jump to their feet, bardock still in his training gi and gine in her white shirt and some sweatpants. "raditz!? what happened?" bardock exclaimed, gine following up with "why are you covered in... purple blood!?" this caused kakarot to come out of his room in a rush, "h-h-holy s-shit! i didnt kill anyone i swear mom, mom, dad please, i wouldn't do that!" raditz panicked. "s-something tried to attack me! i didnt know what to do so i attacked back!!" he tries to wipe the blood off, it being on his face.
whatever happened, scared raditz enough to make him shake in fear and what seems to be regret despite it being to protect himself.
kakarot however, still was unsure what happened. his father said he would explain in the morning, the situation was too dire for kakarot to get involved - especially with the police.
in town, vegeta covered his bloodied chest, panting as he hid deep in an alleyway. "goddammit," he huffs, slicking his hair back to keep the human bangs out of his face. hes got a huge gash across his chest, thanks to that damned raditz he happened to work with. luckily, he was morphed into some other alien lifeform and not his original shift state. he slowly morphed into a bird, a finch, and flew off to him apartment. he always kept his window cracked just in case this were to happen. just his luck, we wont be able to eat and to heal he needs that energy for food or else hell be out asleep for awhile.
he decides calling off work, so thats what he does. what he doesnt expect is a man with a thick ass fucking tail and slicked back purple hair and red eyes to be reading a book, lounging like a king on his bed. "f... frieza!?" vegeta says, startled.
"ah hello my creation! lovely seeing you here, dont you think?" he throws the book off to the side, getting up and striding over to the bloodied vegeta. "aw looks like you got a paper cut." he jabs a finger into vegetas cut across his chest. vegeta groans in pain, a tentacle whipping around to hit frieza away into a safer distance, but the icejin blocks smoothly with his muscled tail.
from here:
wow!! you found out vegeta is a "creation" of friezas, but what exactly does that mean?
raditz gets taken in for questioning. he gets blamed for a murder that happened on the otherside of town, the law system being dumb sentenced him to 25 years in prision for a murder he didnt do
kakarot is confused, bardock telling him there arent any alien threats and it was a misunderstanding on the jury and judge's parts bc raditz was getting mugged and a murder far away happened at roughly the same time, and they were desperate to throw someone into jail.
this is a lie, to some extent. kakarot believes it, living happily thinking there are no threats
vegeta attacked raditz, needing food. shapeshifters need to eat hearts and lungs of animals as food
raditz is the one who cut him across the chest (thatd why he has a scar on his chest in the ref sheet)
kakarot has to bring crops and milk into a market farther into town sometime in the next week, it being an event ran by capsule corp, a company that produces a lot of housing and vehicles and being in business for 40 years being the anniversary that day.
vegeta is a mechanical manager, wearing fancy clothing that day since its technically a high spot in the ranks for capsule corp.
vegeta likes milk, surprisingly. it helps a lot when recovering damage, especially his species. this is when he meets kakarot
kakarot is running his stand with the crates of crops and glass jars of milk set out on display with their price, krillin with him
vegeta is annoyed he has to speak up to get the seller's attention so he grunts with an "ahem"
kakarot jumps, apologizing and asking what he wants to buy. vegeta gets his milk and some vegetables for someone he knows
"hey, whats with the fancy suit?"
"you dont know who i am?"
"no. should i?"
"i-? im vegeta! im manager of the mechanics in capsule corp!"
"oh. is the job hard?"
they conversate, as kakarot sells his produce happily listening as he was able to get the short man with a temper to talk about his job.
vegeta himself was caught off guard by this action but happily talks
this ends in kakarot running behing the stand's curtain and grabbing his business card so vegeta can have a discount on milk next time he decides to buy
vegeta takes the card walking off
the card has kakarots name and number on the back, a message saying "text me personally if you want extra, i dont mind taking some. you seem cool!"
vegeta is a bit ticked, but pockets the card
over time, vegeta and kakarot talk over text a bit, kakarot delivering him milk like an old time milk delivery boy
turns out he actually used to be one as a kid
turns out hes been into marial arts as well, a long time interest of vegetas
they bond over this, kakarot find himself growing a crush on vegeta
one time kakarot stops buy with a delivery unannounced, not knowing he typed the text but didnt send it. he knocks on vegetas apartment door, but no answer.
he checks to see if its unlocked, and it is so he lets himself in, just wanting to put the delivery on the counter and head out.
he doesnt expect to turn around and see a vegeta with a towel wrapped around his waist, tentacles coming out of his back, green eyes, and sharp ears, teeth, and claws. "K-KAKAROT!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" he yells, surprised. he doesn't have bangs either
"why do you have tentacles?? why do you look different? why do you have that scar?"
vegeta is caught off guard, not sure if he should push kakarot out or tell him the truth. one way or another he knows the truth will spread, so he carefully debates his options
he tells kakarot the truth, hes a shapeshifter and hes insanely dangerous
kakarot is surprised dangerous aliens exist
he tells vegeta this, and deep down vegeta is mad kakarot is sheltered
little do they know as they conversate and bond, growing closer to each other kakarot finds out vegeta made a vow not to ever get in a relationship no matter how much he envied them, especially a human relationship, a certain someone is watching them and listening in, theyre keeping tabs on vegetas and kakarots feelings
trust issues amirite?
later that night, kakarot says his goodbye heading home, heart pounding. wow!!!! vegeta is... great. very great. kinda cute too, i mean what!?? no!!
kakarot rants to himself aloud in his room, window open to keep himself cool, about vegeta as he debates his feelings. he doesnt care if this seems out of character in his friends terms, all they see from him anyway is a dense fightcrazed guy with a dysfunctional relationship with an ex and his son. he realized vegeta doesnt see him like that, but, what DOES vegeta see him as?
he calls it a night
he wakes up to a "thwap, thwap, thwap" against his wooden floor
he sits up, looking around and seeing a short figure sitting at his desk.
"whos there?"
"ah, youre awake monkey! i have valuable information for you, about your lovely vegeta." the voice is squeaky
"and, who is telling me this?" kakarots interest is piqued, not seeing the mysterious figure as a threat, as of now at least
"oh-hohoho! im dr. cold! but please, call me frieza. doctor cold is my father's name."
"and what do you have to tell me about vegeta?"
"mmm, are you sure you want to know?" he gets up, beginning to pace
"theres a catch isnt there" kakarot realizes, serious
"oh! maybe you arent so dense afterall. yes, there iss monkey. its simple, deliever some of your left over crop to my facility tomorrow, i already left the address on a paper over on that... pitiful little desk of yours." frieza pauses. "vegeta will kill you if you arent careful. hes hungry, and he wants that heart. but... i think the poor creation wants it in more than one way. kill him before he kills you."
frieza hands kakarot a box cutter
"thats the only thing that will kill him. if you dont do it i expect that delivery tomorrow by midnight. if you dont show, and theres no news of him being dead, youll be a brilliant collection to my creations, monkey!" the man laughs in joy, clasping his hands together as his red eyes pierce through kakarot
kakarot reluctantly agrees, unsure how this will play out
PART TWO WILL BE MADE SOON!!!
anyway heres the part 1 of the rundown.

a ref sheet/app for a GoG RP! still waiting to hear back abt it but i wanted to post it regardless and ill probably use him for something whether or not the RP works out!
large bio underneath readmore
Name: Yarrow Age: Adult Species: Blakiston’s Fish Owl (specifically; Bubo Blakistoni Doerriesi subspecies) Gender: male, he/him Sexuality: homosexual Height: 29 in. Weight: 11 lbs. Build: Tall and large, he says a lot of it is feathers. Yarrow is heavy and well muscled due to eating fish and traversing on the ground for food. Appearance: Yarrow is a large tawny owl with very messy feathers. He has white around his face and chest. His torso has lighter beige colored feathers, with many little streaks of black. His wings and tail feathers are barred with dark brown on both sides, lighter underneath.
Faction: Lone Owl Occupation: Blacksmith/artist Birthplace: Frost Forest, near the lakes Family: Kaverna (mother; deceased), Zhelty (father; unknown) Commonly found: at his smithing spot (a toppled fishing shack built by the Others) near Serenity delta, flying through nearby forests, at the beach, trading at Lone Owl island
Theme song: Bottomfeeder - Amanda Palmer Likes: fish, water/rivers/the sea, art, traveling, learning, music, trinquets, green filled landscapes, flowers Dislikes: heat, barren deserts, bugs, thunderstorms/heavy storms, theives
Personality: Yarrow is an eccentric, compassionate, open minded owl. He’s clear about his opinions when he’s passionate and loves to learn about all sorts of things he doesn’t know about. Being a fish owl, some of his lifestyle differs greatly from other owl species and he tends to embrace the feeling of being different. While often on his own, he does enjoy making friends and will gladly join other owls on trips. While his open mind is a good thing in most cases, it does make it easy for him to make up his mind and cut off contact with people he disagrees with- he may not give second changes. He can also be a bit distant, as he has a hard time handling emotions- he likes to stick to logic and often closes off emotional responses to stressful situations. When it comes to scenarios where others are in trouble, he will likely do what is logical and brings others to safety before making up his mind on what's “good” or “bad”. But in personal relations, he has a hard time facing his feelings or dealing with them appropraitely- leading to stubbornness, outbursts, or irrational choices. He may not come off as sensitive or easy to upset as he likes to consider logic and others’ views before reacting, but he is deeply disturbed by betrayal and losing trusted friends. He may be open to changing his opinions for simple things, but changing his emotions is a whole other thing. He is unlikely to act with violence though, unless provoked or in a scenario where it is needed.
Pre-Group History: Yarrow was born to a simple loving family- Kaverna, his mother and Zhelty, his father. They lived near the water in a large tree. There was a sister egg that failed to hatch before Yarrow did. His parents were kind and caring- raising him properly just as any owl should. However, he found himself orphaned one night, when lightning struck near his hollow and caused their tree to fall to the ground. He was at the age where he should fly, and while he managed to escape before getting hurt, his mother at the back of the hollow was killed. His father was out hunting, and due to the circumstances Yarrow had to find safety first and was unable to reunite with his father. While Yarrow faced grief in losing his parent’s, they taught him a lot about loving the world and the land, and he set out to form his own life.
He mostly stayed to the west, cooler and damper parts of the world as he travelled and tried to find inspiration of what to do with his life. On his flights, he acquainted many owls, one of whom was an apprentice blacksmith. This smith was still learning, but introduced him to his mentor. While these two were smithing up weapons and Yarrow didn't care much for that, it piqued Yarrows interest, and he stuck around with the older smith- a scraggly masked owl named Uhlava. Yarrow learned for months about smithing, metals, coals, etc. He did ask about not making weapons- to which Uhlava mentioned “art”. She said that she did not make art, it was not her specialty and she didn’t “get” it. She could teach him how smithing worked in general but he should seek outside knowledge on art. She informed him that she heard the Guardians had many books (said pre-burning of the tree) and that the Glauxian Brothers had a large library as well. He didn’t know how to read yet… and while she gave him a lead to maybe read about the Rogue Smith of Silverveil who stopped making weapons to make art, he knew it was leagues away from Uhlava’s home at the edge of Saint Aegolius Canyons. Yarrow eventually finished his basic training in smithing and moved to his own settlement, a small crumbled stone fishing shack built by the Others, in the Serenity Delta. While he dreamed to read and learn about art, he decided it was quite a lot to do, and would practice what he thought was “art” first. He quite loved living near the water and sea, it gave him inspiration. Yarrow experimented with materials aside from metal and eventually used sand to create glass objects. Nothing as magnificent as the stained glass from the Others, but little baubles strung up with string, little necklaces and charms.
In the present, Yarrow resides at this residence but often travels to trade and get materials for his work. He is not a known name, but has traded his work with a few owls before. His goal is to learn to read so he can learn about art history and improve his work. He also wishes to explore more of the world to fuel his ideas.
Group History: N/A
Relationships: N/A
Other:
Yarrow doesn’t know how to write, but if he did he’d write some good poetry.
He is not a fighter, it's not something he ever learned, but his size makes him incredibly capable of being destructive if he’s driven to it.
Yarrow was named after a bunch of yarrow flowers growing near their hollow, as his mother loved those flowers.
Yarrow thinks about his father, but is unsure if he should accept the possibility that he's dead.
Yarrow enjoys fish, and like many fish owls he spends a lot of time on the ground. He is very good at running around on his feet and hunting on the ground. He enjoys the forest floors more than a tree or hollow.
He does enjoy the few non-fish meals he's gotten in other forests and definitely likes the idea of trying out more.
He has insecurities about philosophy, often having a hard time grasping feelings with death, existence etc and doesn't think scrooms are real. He loves the world but doesnt like thinking about deep questions that may take “logic” away from his typical pattern of thinking. He likes to use logic to form opinions, not emotions.
While a logical thinker, this doesn't take away his compassion or empathy! He's very kind and understanding.
In terms of relationships, he is not a type for long term commitment, does not plan to make a family. He is the type for flings and very sensual/intimate friendships. Its likely he has a few owls he knows awfully well and many he doesn’t know well at all.
Design can be simplified to get rid of or lessen speckles.

I told you I'd try to color and digitalize Mal's ref sheet, and uhh,, here's part one of that. Idk how much of it I'll actually do, but eh XP
The "yay for sweater weather" thing is because I didn't feel like changing her outfit into the new, canon one. Figured maybe she likes wearing sweaters and loafing on the couch when she's not doing anything
If any of my scribbling is too hard to read and you're curious about what it says, please let me know! I really don't mind giving clarification when it's needed ^^

Alastor writing/ Character ref sheet
NOTE: This is MY interpretation/ notes of my characterization of Alastor. Most is speculation and the other parts are just me having fun imagining what his character could be like. This is no way meant to be official or taken as cannon in any way.
A wonderful user by the name of dolly moon complied a lot of information from Viv’s streams. I’m referencing some of the information here so please check them out, they did a fantastic job making notes.
Warning: Contains talk about murder, cannibalism and other possible triggering subjects.
General
---NAME: Alastor--- Died: 1933 Age: 30′s Occupation: Former radio host and serial killer. Currently powerful overlord in hell
Main Personality/ notes
Always smiling (He sees people frowning as weak)
Sadistic
Charming and charismatic
Very proud( puffed out chest, arms behind back)
He's controlling/ does things his own way
Careful! He's not too braggy, or too forceful/ demanding. Ex: Viv stated in her qna that the pilot was originally going to have Alastor boast about himself and his backstory. Instead vaggie narrates his backstory. She changed this because Alastor wasn’t the type of person to flaunt his achievements. He knows that everyone knows how powerful he is, he’s not the type to rub it in. He's supposed to be charming, but still proud, juuuust in the right way
He knows what he wants, but doesn’t necessarily brute-forces his way to get it. Ex: "He-" "-llo!" He KNOWS he's getting in hotel regardless, but waits for Charlie to open up the door before invading the hallway.
Deceitful; When asked why he wants to help out at the hotel, he says: "Consider it an investment in ongoing entertainment for myself!" 'This is what you can think my reason is...' is essentially what he's saying. He answers Charlie’s question in a roundabout way that givers her what she wants to know while still keeping his true intentions secret. Time and time again, he lets his mask down slightly when Charlie isn’t looking. At 24:10 he narrows his eyes when she has her back turned to him At the beginning of his song he distracts her with magic so he can push Vaggie away. When he says “...And it’s just laughable-” during he reprise he turns away from Charlie to say this, he leans down to Vaggie.
He’s a hypocrite (hates being touched, invades other’s personal space)
Watches people do things the hard way and then reveal he can do it once it's done just to watch people fuck up
DELIGHTS in watching people failing/ struggling to do things. He likes observing people/ sinners as they are battling with their conflicted emotions.
He’s curious (He stopped by the ‘radio shack’ place to see what Charlie was talking about on the broadcast, and cocked his head when she started singing. To me that meant, “Oh? What’s this now? Something new?” he was intrigued and wanted to know more)
He analyzes people. He looks at the Magne family portrait when left alone. You can briefly hear him playing Charlie’s “Inside of every demon is a rainbow” song, and smiling.
He picks up on things quickly. Vaggie makes it clear she doesn’t like the idea of him being there, and he messes with her. He puts his elbow on her and pushes her away ( 20:44-20:48) He pulls her chin up and tells her to ‘smile’
He’s egotistical. No one is really ‘up to his level’
He gives verbal and physical affection constantly throughout the pilot, but it’s not genuine.
Likes being unpredictable
Primary drive:   Decisions are weighed in his own wants/ feelings. He wants to be amused, he chases exciting/ entertaining things. Think of him as like a cat chasing a mouse.
Fears: He doesn’t fear anyone. But is wary of powerful threats. He dislikes dogs Physical Expression: He’s VERY, VERY expressive through his body language and eyes. Large/ easy to read emotions can be perceived through his body language (Leaning towards someone, or leaning away). Smaller/ pinpoint emotions can be read through his eyes and type of smile (Wide eyes, squinted, closed vs open smile, etc.) He’s like a bird, fluffing out his feathers constantly. (He fixes his hair briefly at 24:41) He expresses himself proudly. ‘This is who I am, remember that!!’. Viv said the reason why almost all of characters have nicknames is that a soul’s real name is dangerous, its a way others can have power over you. Yet Alastor uses his first name, because he’s not scared and confident in who he is as a person. He doesn’t hide from any aspect of himself. I’ve stated he hates being touched by others. When he picks up Nifty in the pilot, she poofs out and spreads her limbs out. At 25:41, Alastor turns his head away from her briefly so she doesn’t touch him.
Flaws/ Weaknesses:
(Note: Basically anything already stated can be a problem depending on the situation, I’m just saying things about his character that he’d find weak or naturally cause problems)
His mother, he’d do anything for her.
He has a darker/ more powerful demon side to him where he runs purely on instinct/ primitive emotions.
He’s arrogant. This can cause problems!
---
Killer/ moral compass profile (Living)
Motivations:
Thrill Killer- Pleasure from pain
Slight power/control aspect involved as well.
‘Causes’
Childhood trauma (abusive father)
Environmental factors (mother died when he was 18-20)
Type of killer: *Note: I’m still not 100% satisfied with this part, I might make some changes later*
He won’t just kill anyone. They have to meet a certain list of requirements.
Viv compared him as someone similar to Dexter
He’s a very goal oriented killer. Whatever he did it was with reason and purpose, meticulously planned. Ex: Maybe one year he’d kill someone who was a real jerk, to see how the others around him flourished. Likewise he might kill someone who was important to the community just to see how the grief made everyone react.
He was a very careful killer, he ended up dying purely on accident, bad luck.
He killed for the fun of it, pure joy, excitement, curiosity. But he only killed people he thought deserved it.
He considers what he does to be ‘work’. He expresses in the pilot how after decades in hell it’s become ‘mundane’ and ‘aimless’.
The victims had to be overconfident to some degree.(This ties into the ‘he wouldn’t chase his victims.’ They had to be somewhat full of themselves or naive)
Some kills are personal (Someone wronging him, trying to hurt him, otherwise he just wouldn’t care if some guy is an asshole) but others are just because he feels like they’re bad/ they’ve have done something that they need to die for.
He used ‘personal’ ways of killing people. (Knife, his hands). I don’t think he would have used a gun of any kind because of the noise, but he could have once every blue moon.
Generally doesn’t draw things out for too long ”...If I wanted to hurt anyone here... I would have done so already.” (He defeats Sir Pentious in under a minute. But still takes the time to crush him and drag his body across the floor.)
He ate people, and knew how to make delicious meals out of them.
Buried his victim’s bodies/ remains on a hunting ground for deer.
Morals
No human is pure or kind just because. They’re selfish beings. Who take and act to help their own causes. Everyone is a monster on the inside. “...redemption, the nonexistent humanity!”
Everyone puts on a mask to hide who they truly are. Life is one big game to see who can survive. “...the world is a stage! And the stage, is a world of entertainment!”
People don’t change “...there is no undoing what is done.”
Puts himself first, and above everyone else. He also degrades others. “I don’t think there’s any hope left for such loathsome sinners...” ”Inside of every demon is a lost cause, but we’ll dress them up for now with just a smile!” “...and show these simpletons some proper class and style...” “...do I know you?” “You think I’m [husk] some kind of fuckin’ clown!?” “...maybe!”
People deserve the consequences they get for being themselves “...the chance given was the life they lived before, the punishment is this!”
He understands what society views as good and evil, but doesn’t really believe in those standards himself. What is considered evil he just views as a hobby or something fun to explore. Ex: Cannibalism is wrong by society’s standards, but to him he thinks the greater wrong is killing something and not making use of it.
He has some level of empathy. (Again, He’d never kill a child or those running away.)
People’s emotions are a fun little game to him. “...I want to watch the scum of the earth struggle to climb up the hill of betterment! Only to repeatedly trip, and tumble down into the firey pit of failure!”
Doesn’t see value in being nice or honest. (He does find it funny to watch)
Other notes/ hc
He’s knowledgeable. In more ways than one. He knows not to fuck with certain people if he doesn’t want to get hurt, he’s got knowledge on the workings/ operations of hell and deal-making.
Likes to cook
He likes bitter things (Bloody meat, alcohol, black coffee)
He’s got a party side to him.
He speaks french!
He plays musical instruments
He knows how to fight without his powers
He’s an only child
He’s part creole
He hates silence, he always surrounds himself with noise of some kind.
Husk and Alastor have a long, complicated relationship
He does things to make Nifty happy (Wearing sweaters)
He’d go out into a hurricane just to let it beat him down for fun (Why is this so funny to me)
Despite all he is, Alastor is capable of having friends and loving.
Has absolutely NO romantic experience.
He hates modern technology in general, but hates tik tok the most
The idea of Alastor cross-dressing to lure his victims in is absolutely hilarious to me, but I don’t think he’d ever do it.
