DP x DC: Two Dads are better than none
This is probably because I have the Bruharvy brainrot rn and Two Face is one of my favorite characters
Danny’s parents wanted a second child, but years of exposure to ectoplasm left them sterile. It turns out that there are some side effects to living with radioactive materials from another plane of existence.
Their Solution? Cloning
The issue? The sample they got while in Gotham wasn’t exactly “pure.” After getting a blood sample from a fight between Batman and Two Face, things got little cross contaminated. Now what does this mean?
Danny is the biological child of BOTH Bruce and Harvey
Years pass, Danny grows up, Danny half dies, and life goes on.
Until Danny has to flee Amity. Maybe it’s the GIW, maybe it's and identity reveal gone wrong, maybe the Nasty Burger explosion happened and Danny fled to avoid being taken in by Vlad.
Danny runs. He also discovered who his biological parents were: Bruce Wayne, and Harvey Dent. Between the Billionaire and the criminal, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the choices, but he still had to choose
So he flipped a coin
Harvey: So you’re biologically me and Bruce’s kid after your parents used our DNA to make a clone
Danny: Yep
Harvey: And between a billionaire and someone considered criminally insane, you chose me? Why?
Danny: ... I flipped a coin.
Harvey: You really are my kid.

[Harvey Specter x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: Harvey doesn’t particularly let out his feelings much, so when you get a call in the middle of the night, completely unannounced, it’s safe to say you’re there within a heartbeat.
WC: 1134
Category: Slight Angst, Comfort
I wrote this at 3am after watching an edit... yeah, not my brightest moment. But hey, this beauty came out of it :)
『••✎••』
“Harvey…?” You spoke into the phone, a little concerned as to why he called you at such a late hour. You were already in bed and about to fall asleep.
There was a short silence before he answered, almost as if he was waiting for the right words.
Finally, he replied, and you heard the slight hesitation in his voice, the uncertainty, and the exhaustion.
"Yeah?"
You were instantly on alert, but you made your voice calm and soft so he wouldn't hear your worry. "Is everything okay? Do you need me to come over?"
There was another pause, this one longer than the first. Your worry increased. You sat up, already pulling on a sweater, trying to get ready to go to Harvey's.
"No. No, it's alright. I just wanted to hear your voice. Sorry to wake you."
Your mind raced, trying to decipher Harvey's words and the hidden meaning behind them. His tone wasn't right; it was too quiet and too sad, nothing like the normal cocky, self-assured, sometimes slightly arrogant tone.
"You didn't wake me. Is something wrong, Harvey?"
You heard him sigh, then the sound of a door shutting and the muffled sounds of the city streets. He must have stepped out of his office, maybe gone outside.
"No. Everything is fine; It's okay. Go back to bed."
He didn't sound okay. In fact, he sounded a bit upset, though not like he was angry, more like he was frustrated.
You slipped on your shoes and coat, grabbed your keys and wallet, and quietly opened the door.
"Where are you? Home? I'll meet you there."
"What? No, no, that's not-"
"I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Wait for me, okay? Don't go anywhere."
You could almost hear him frown through the phone. "I can't ask you to do that. You don't have to.”
"Harvey," you interrupted him again. "I'm coming, alright? See you soon."
You hung up before he could protest more and drove as fast as you could to his apartment.
Once you arrived, you saw that Harvey was waiting for you outside. He looked exhausted and was staring up at the sky, his hands in his pockets. He was still in his work suit but had taken off his tie and jacket, leaving his top few buttons undone and his sleeves rolled up.
"Harvey?"
He jumped slightly and looked over at you. The moment he saw you, he relaxed and gave a half smile, but you could tell he was still worried.
“Hey, Bumblebee,” His nickname for you. You had told him how you hated bees when you were younger and had a fear of being stung, and ever since, he had called you Bumblebee, telling you that you were the cutest little bumblebee. It was definitely meant to be teasing, but somehow, the way he said it was never mean or rude, and you secretly loved it no matter how much you’d deny it.
“What was it? Mike?” You guessed, referring to Harvey's associate, whom he had taken under his wing a while back. Harvey shook his head.
"Jessica, actually."
You raised an eyebrow.
"She found out and wants me to fire him. But I can't, I just can't, not now."
"I’m sorry, Harv, but you knew it was a risk, right? She had to have found out eventually.”
"Yeah, I know, I just thought maybe... maybe I wouldn't have to, and we could figure something out. He’s got so much potential.”
Harvey looked down and sighed. He looked so tired, but you knew his mind was racing, always trying to find a way to fix things. He had been working with Mike for a while now, and even though he would never admit it, you knew Harvey cared about him and had grown attached to his presence.
And when Harvey gets attached, he hates to lose.
Your hands found his arms, and you squeezed gently, trying to reassure him. You had done this plenty of times in the past, and you knew it worked.
"Look at me," you told him, and he did. His dark brown eyes met yours, and you were almost startled by the amount of emotion in them. He was always good at hiding how he felt, but you could see through his mask, and you saw how upset he was.
"You’ll figure it out; you always do. And even if somehow you don't, it's not the end of the world. He could always… you know, actually, go to law school."
Harvey laughed quietly, and the sound warmed your heart. He was finally relaxing, slowly calming down.
"No, that's not an option," he replied.
"Right. I forgot how stubborn you both are."
You smiled, and Harvey smiled back. He had the most wonderful smile, the kind that always made you happy no matter what was happening.
"I'm glad you came," Harvey said, taking a step closer. His hands found your waist, and yours reached up to wrap around his neck. You could feel the warmth from his body through your clothes, and you leaned in, resting your head against his chest.
"Me too. Especially when you’re in a mellow mood," you teased. Harvey chuckled and rubbed your back. “That's rare."
"Hey," Harvey replied, feigning offense. "I'm not always a dick, you know."
"About eighty percent of the time," you grinned, looking up at him. Harvey's smile faded, and his eyes locked on yours, gazing at you with a certain intensity that made your breath catch.
You stared at each other for a few moments, neither one of you moving, until Harvey suddenly leaned down and pressed his lips against yours, his hand cupping your cheek and the other wrapped tightly around your waist, pulling you against him.
The kiss was slow and sweet but full of all the emotions that neither of you could say. There was no rush, no desperate passion or need, just the two of you together.
After a while, Harvey pulled away but kept his forehead pressed against yours, his breath warm against your skin.
He didn’t say anything, but you knew exactly what he was thinking. You had spent enough time with him to be able to read him perfectly.
Thank you.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for being mine.
You reached up and kissed his nose.
"Love you," you whispered.
"I know," Harvey replied. His lips turned up into a smirk, and you rolled your eyes, trying to act annoyed but not doing a very good job of it.
“You’re proving my point, Harv.”
Harvey shrugged. "But you love me anyway, right?"
"Unfortunately, yes. I really do."
“Good,” His lips brushed against yours, and his smile was still there, but his eyes were serious. “Glad to know we feel the same way.”

So like... truly not a single individual asked for even anything remotely this but I've had it sitting partially unfinished in my drafts since the day I started this blog. I'm debating turning it into like a 3ish part mini-series but please do let me know if you guys think I should just leave it alone or keep going! If I did continue this, know that future parts would be juicier and likely include a bit of angst as it would kind of work perfectly with a request I have in my inbox!
Without further adieu, I hope you enjoy :)
Something More
Harvey Specter x Reader
--------
You were in such a rush to get to work that you hadn’t bothered to check your phone until you were already on the train and headed to your office. If you had, maybe you would’ve put a bit more attention into your appearance on that particular day. Once you were in your seat, you finally pulled out your phone and noticed a rather… compelling message from none other than Harvey Specter. Your heart nearly beat out of your chest.
You’d very recently become a junior partner at the firm, which meant you’d be working just a bit more closely with him than when you were simply an associate. This thought both excited you and also freaked you out just a little. Harvey was the biggest of the big dogs in corporate law, and to say you weren't intimidated would simply be a lie.
The message Harvey had sent you was simple, as he didn’t tend to beat around the bush or waste any time when it came to much of anything.
“Come see me when you get in, I want to chat. Don’t worry, you’re not in trouble. Oh, and there’s something waiting for you in your office.”
You pictured the smirk he had while typing out that message, knowing he'd made you nervous.
You fluffed up your hair a little and checked your lipgloss in the reflection of your front camera and before you knew it, you found yourself pressing the elevator button up to Pearson Specter, and clicking your heels as you walked to Harvey’s office. You decided to go straight there, wanting to get whatever this was out of the way. You paused when you reached Donna’s desk, unsure of whether or not you needed to check in with her first. You'd never been summoned to Harvey's office before.
“You can go right on in, hon. He already told me he’s expecting you.” She said with a slight smile, not even needing to look up from her screen to see who was there.
“H-how’d you know it was me?” You asked, visibly thrown off by her skill. You didn't have a ton of interaction with Donna when you were an associate, only here and there and you’d heard she was good at this type of thing, but damn.
She looked up and gave you the “Do you really have to ask me that” face.
“Right. Thanks, Donna” you said as you turned toward Harvey’s office, only slightly embarrassed.
You knocked on his door, which sat slightly ajar. He was reading from a file folder, but closed it when he saw you enter.
“She Donna’d you, didn’t she?” He asked with amusement present in his tone.
“That she did. But umm, you... wanted to see me?" Your stomach was doing flips, despite him saying you weren't in any trouble, you felt like you were anyway.
He smiled, gesturing at the seat in front of him at his desk. You cautiously sat down, your guard still up.
“I told you, you're not in trouble. You can relax, Y/N. I don't bite. I just wanted to congratulate you personally on making junior partner. I know we’ve never really crossed paths much since you started here, but I really look forward to getting to know you. From what I've heard, you do great work, Y/N. It definitely doesn’t go unnoticed by me, or any of the senior staff. You’re going to do great things here.” He said earnestly.
You were floored. Of anything you expected Harvey to call you into his office for, this wouldn’t have even cracked your top 20 guesses. Up until your promotion, you weren’t even confident he knew your name let alone knew about and recognized the hard work you constantly put in.
“O-oh! Really? Thank you! That means everything coming from you.” You replied.
"Of course 'really', I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it." He said with a chuckle.
You relaxed your shoulders and sunk a tiny bit lower in your seat.
Harvey opened his mouth to say something else, but as he did, Donna poked her head in to let him know he had a call from a client.
You quickly stood up and smoothed your dress out.
“I’ll let you take that, but thank you again, Harvey. I really appreciate it.” You told him.
He smiled warmly and stood now, too, walking you the few feet to his doorway. You mentally noted how gentlemanly this was, saving the thought for later.
By the time you got to your office you had completely forgotten the other part of Harvey's message from earlier, that he had left something on your desk. Neatly placed in front of your laptop was the most beautiful bouquet of flowers you’d ever seen, and a stack of business cards, embossed with your name and the new title. A post-it note sat on top of them with “Congrats!” written in Harvey’s handwriting. You smiled widely. To you, even these cards meant more than you could possibly describe. They were a physical manifestation of all the hard work you'd put in, everything you'd gone through and overcame. As for the flowers, well, they definitely were a shock to you. You didn’t take Harvey as a flowers guy.
You settled into your desk chair, smiling down at the stack of cards before signing into your computer, and getting started on the slightly mountainous pile of work you had to take care of. With a promotion of course came more cases and harder work, but regardless, you were still glad to have been promoted.
You were deep in your laptop typing up a brief for one of your cases when you noticed a presence standing in your doorway.
“Oh, Harvey! Hey, sorry I was just in my head. I was going to come by earlier and thank you for the flowers and the cards. They’re beautiful”
Harvey grinned and nodded his head.
“Of course, you deserve them! Though I can’t exactly take credit for the floral arrangement… that was all Donna.”
“What can Donna not do?”
“I’ve been asking myself that for the last twelve years."
"Did I hear my name?" Donna said, appearing seemingly out of nowhere and making Harvey nearly jump out of his skin.
You smiled brightly, greeting the redhead and thanking her for the flowers. She lit up and told you all about her florist, telling you she'd get you a business card asap.
As the week went on, you found yourself having more run-in's like this with Harvey than you'd had in the entirety of your employment at the firm. Surely it was a coincidence, or at least that's what you'd convinced yourself anyway.
The remaining Harvey-free parts of your week didn't nearly live up to how your first morning as a partner had gone. You had been hitting dead end after dead end in all your cases and nothing was going the way you'd planned. The deposition you had scheduled for Friday got moved, so at the very least, you were able to head home a little earlier than you planned. You were wrapping up and grabbing your coat when a knock on your office door made you jump, the tension from your rather hellish week still rattling you.
"Hey sorry to scare you, I just wanted to see how your first official week as a junior partner went?"
You huffed a sigh in response, not wanting to make a big deal out of the tough day that surely you'd get over.
Harvey chuckled at this.
"That bad, huh?"
"I'll be fine, I’ll get it figured out it’s just everything I tried to do went exactly the opposite of how I wanted it to go."
"I would tell you we've all been there, but I wouldn't want to lie to you," Harvey replied, smirking as he straightened his tie. "Harvey Specter always gets what he wants"
"Mmm, I'm sure he does.” You mused. “Well Harvey, as much as I'd like to chat more, I was about to head home and have a very large, very strong drink."
"Funny, I was about to ask if you'd like to join me for a drink."
You paused for a beat, weighing the pros and cons of going for a drink with Harvey. On one hand, he was technically your boss and it wouldn't be the worst idea to get to know him better. On the other, it made you a little nervous having any alcohol in your system around him. For totally work-related reasons, of course, and no other reasons.
"Fuck it," you thought to yourself. "live a little."
“You know what Harvey? Sure. I'd like that.”
Harvey grinned in a way that made your stomach erupt with butterflies.
"Good, let's get out of here." He said, grabbing your coat off the coat rack and handing it to you.
You grabbed it from him, put your bag over your shoulder and flicked the lamp on your desk off.
Harvey stood by the door to your office, holding it open and letting you go first.
"Wow, and to think just yesterday I thought you were only a pretty boy with an ego. Harvey Specter is actually a gentleman?" You questioned teasingly. Harvey raised an eyebrow, smirking as you both walked toward the elevators.
"All I'm hearing is that you think I'm pretty"
"Not the point, Specter."
"It's the only point I caught. Did you say something else?"
"And suddenly I'm regretting saying yes to you"
Harvey chuckled now, pressing the lobby button as the elevator doors closed.
Not an hour later, the two of you were seated at a small table in whatever fancy bar it was that Harvey had taken you to. You'd forgotten the name, but apparently, it was somewhere Harvey frequented if the exceptional treatment from the staff and the fact that they knew his name was any indication.
You ordered the drink you always ordered, a whiskey ginger with a lime, and Harvey nodded approvingly before ordering his own drink.
Once your server walked away, he turned to you with an impressed look on his face.
"You're a whiskey girl?"
You shrugged. "I've become one, I used to be a vodka girl in college though." You said with a giggle, remembering all the nights stumbling home from parties with your college roommate after way too many vodka lemonades.
"I was a 'whatever gets me drunk the fastest' guy myself," Harvey said, making you both laugh. Your drinks arrived and you held your glass up to cheers before taking the first sip.
You were surprisingly having a great time with Harvey, he was really getting to know you and you were even able to squeeze a few stories out of him, too. As time passed and the more drinks you had, the more you let your guard down and finally admitted to yourself that Harvey wasn't the same cocky guy you'd heard about from the rest of the world. He'd already started to show this in the workplace, but now that all the stress of the office was gone maybe, just maybe, you were even starting to admit to yourself that you wanted something else between the two of you. You pondered this while Harvey ordered another drink for each of you, your fourth of the night.
"Okay that'll have to be my last one, I can assure you, you don't want to see drunk Y/N this early into knowing me. She can be a handful" You warned with a smile.
Harvey chuckled in response, nodding in understanding.
You each sipped your drinks as you chatted some more, giving him some more bits and pieces about your life.
Harvey flagged down the server when you were both finished and before you could even offer to pay for your drinks, Harvey had already handed over his Amex.
"You didn't have to do that, I'm more than capable of buying my own drinks." You stated, standing and draping your coat over your arm. The heat from your slight intoxication warming you enough as it was. Harvey followed your lead, standing from his own chair before responding. He stepped slightly forward, much closer to you.
"I know you are, I just wanted to celebrate you making junior partner and show you that I really enjoyed your company tonight," Harvey said softly, a genuine smile on his face.
Your cheeks felt like they were on fire at his admission, and at the lack of distance.
"I happened to enjoy your company too."
You knew it was risky, and likely unrequited, to feel the way you felt right there in that busy yet intimate bar. You rationally knew that he probably was just being nice because he wanted to get to know you better for working purposes, but the drinks you'd had were starting to catch up with you and you didn't know how long you'd be able to take this closeness.
Harvey spoke, interrupting your train of thought.
"Look, I know it might cause some talk around the office, but I'd like to have something more with you. So, if you're feeling what I'm feeling, I'd really like to see you again. I mean, I'll see you at work obviously. But I'd like to take you out again, more planned this time-" He stammered, making you smile.
"Harvey?"
"Hmm?"
"Stop talking."
Before you could think twice you were pulling him close, planting your lips on his, and he wasted no time returning the gesture. When you finally pulled away, slightly out of breath, Harvey tucked your hair behind your ear.
"So is that a yes?"
"That's definitely a yes."

Before the farmer, before befriending Maru and assimilating into his role as the meek and respectful town doctor, he had always been rather avoidant to initiating casual physical contact. Everything he gave, everything he received- it all ranged from polite social expectancies to standard work-related procedures. He didn't think much of it. Having always been a more anxious type, the possibility of making another uncomfortable was always on his mind in these interactions, and what better way to avoid such a thing than to not have it at all? Handshakes and the occasional stiff hug were enough for him. Unfortunately, this proved to be a bit of an oversight on his end, considering the side-effects it would provide.
By the time the farmer arrives, his chronic loneliness has very much caught up with him. Not only has he distanced himself physically from others around him, but mentally as well. Outside of his clinic, the way Harvey's been so avoidant to touch has turned it into a source of anxiety for him. His self-consciousness extends to this field as well- when Granny Evelyn beckons him to lean down for a hug after he's finished his house visit to George, he worries that he's hugged her too tightly or for too long in the very back of his mind. Even the handshake exchanged with the governor at the last year's Luau haunts his memory, with the constant niggling thought that he hadn't been firm enough.
And don't get this man started on his non-existent romantic life. Moving to such a small town those few years ago, he knew that prospects like that would be limited, to say the very least. Many of the eligible singles in town, as lovely as they were, were...well, not exactly his type. And even those that were, how could a guy like him ever manage anything with anyone? The thought of being forward or flirtatious in any way practically gave him hives. But the idea of having someone to be close to, physically and emotionally...He couldn't say that he didn't crave that. But all in all, he wholeheartedly believed that it wasn't in the cards for him and his touch-starved ways.
Enter the farmer. They were just another patient to Harvey in the beginning, another member of the town for him to look after. He didn't pay much attention when they touched him or when he touched them, aside from his ordinary overthinking. He couldn't afford to think too deeply about, really. He was their doctor, for Yoba's sake, and whether it was a friendly punch in the arm or a simple tap on the shoulder to get his attention, it would be highly unprofessional to dwell on. Besides, the mystique of being new in town and charmingly single was sure to draw them quite a few pairs of eyes, anyway. How could he compete?
Well...He definitely began thinking about that. Time marched forward as time does, and an unexpected friendship began to blossom. Harvey being Harvey, it was hard for him to recognize his developing feelings at first. Their gestures became more frequent, and his heart swelled with each one. Whether it be grabbing his wrist to drag him to see their chickens or a grateful hug for patching them up after a night in the mines, it lingered in his mind longer than it should have. When the day came that he idly pondered asking them to the coming year's Flower Dance, it all suddenly became clear to him: He'd fallen. And he'd fallen hard.
Everything suddenly became so much more meaningful. The coffee and pickles they'd frequently brought him, fresh from their farm. When he caught them looking at him and only him among the faces of a festival crowd, was that a sign? Did they think about him as often as he thought about them? Did they think about his touch the way he thought about theirs? With all these thoughts swirling about in his head, he would suddenly become much more reserved around the farmer, quiet and flustered as if a single word could shatter the friendship they'd so carefully cultivated already.
Eventually, something would have to be said about his behavior. This is Harvey, after all- and even if it weren't, who in their right mind would suddenly clam up the way he did for no good reason?
Clamming up...Was that what he was doing? Harvey sighed to himself as he took in the early summer atmosphere. He brushed his knuckle over the surface of the fountain's water, sitting contemplatively at its edge. It was on days like these where he wished he had the confidence and sense to dress down a little rather than sweltering away in his slacks and button-up shirt, but there were other things on his mind. The sweat on his brow was the least of his concern. How could it be anything else? He'd recently realized that it had been two or three weeks since he'd realized his feelings towards the farmer, after all- which marked two or three weeks since his overthinking was pushed into overdrive by every little moment between them. His mind wandered back to the early days of their friendship. When Harvey closed his eyes envisioned his feelings, true to his bookish personality, he saw a graph. With every little moment between them, the line grew bit by bit until it became positively exponential. The way the farmer aided him at George's check-up was the first incident he could recall. When George, being every bit the stubborn old man he was at first glance, chastised Harvey for his advice, their sudden appearance ended up making the appointment much less of a headache than he expected. Their own appointment went a similar route, with them being one of his easier patients. It went as smoothly as it could have. Harvey had nearly forgotten the incident, but their pulse stuck out in the otherwise unremarkable memory. They were a farmer, for Yoba's sake. They had a business to run, physical labor to attend to and an entire town to entertain to keep themself afloat both financially and socially. Any other doctor wouldn't've thought twice about it and simply moved on with their day. Any other doctor wouldn't've fallen this hard for a patient, he reminded himself grimly. "Hey, Harvey!" In an instant, his thoughtful silence shattered like an egg thrown at the mountainside at the sound of the familiar voice. They'd sought him out. Did he really mean that much to them? Damn it all, doctor, don't get your hopes up! The contents of the farmer's backpack rustled and clanged with every step as they trotted up to him. With a proud grin on their face, they held out their hand expectantly, a small something clutched in their fist. "Oh. Erm...Hi. How are you today?" Harvey asked politely. The farmer blinked, then smiled warmly. "I'm doing alright. Just got back from the mines. Don't have a heart attack, I managed to find that purple mushroom you asked for at a level that wouldn't kill me." Harvey chuckled stiffly, reaching for the mushroom presented in their hand. Big, big mistake. It was a simple brush of their fingers. He hesitated to even call it a mere accident. They seemed so calm, despite the fact that he'd definitely lingered for a millisecond longer than he should have. In the moment, he cleared his throat awkwardly, preparing to apologize- "Harvey." "Ah, I'm sor- Yes?" he stammered, smiling in a way he prayed didn't seem nervous. "If you're going to apologize for touching me," the farmer began, gently yet firmly, "I'm gonna take that mushroom right back. You're squeezing that poor fungus to death, anyway." It was only at their words that he noticed his death grip on the mushroom. He opened his mouth to apologize anyway, but the farmer continued, "That's just something I noticed, you know? One, you've been super quiet with me lately, and two, every time we so much as brush up against each other when we do talk, you start tripping over your words and apologizing as if you just slapped me." "I know that you do get bouts of anxiety, but..." The farmer trailed off, "We're still friends, right?" Their question was genuine, concern-wrought and excruciatingly, painfully innocent. Harvey could hear their voice quieting as it left their lips- not accusatory, simply gentle and ready for whatever answer he'd give.
Harvey fumbled over his words before they'd even left his mouth. To explain himself would be to reveal the absolute fool he had been. Avoiding them for as long as he did would've only harmed their relationship, just as the farmer revealed had happened that moment. Of course they were worried. Of course they wondered whether or not he was mad at them. Of course they'd be hurt by the way he'd shied from every touch of theirs, all because he had made great towering mountains out of the littlest molehills. "Harvey…?" "It's complicated," he blurted out. The farmer's eyes widened as the words poured out of him. "I've tried to keep our relationship professional at first. After that, I- I thought it would be strictly platonic. I didn't even consider the fact that I would feel this way about you." "What do you mean 'this way?'" they prompted him gently. This farmer was going to kill him with how sweetly patient they were being. With a deep breath, he spat it out. "I'm interested in you. Romantically." What Harvey expected in that moment was a kind let-down. A small speech about how they value him as a friend, but can't see any sort of future with them. At worst, a sneer and a more curt rejection. They wouldn't be the type to laugh and mock him, this much he knew. What he hadn't expected was the smile pricking at their lips. Nor did he anticipate the way they reached softly for his hand and the electric joy that set every nerve in his body alight at their touch. It was all clear now. And damn, he truly was a fool to believe so deeply that they didn't feel the same. "Is that all, big guy?" … Oh, farmer. You'll be the death of this doctor yet.

Sharing Part V
Summary: Eli’s meant to be giving a speech. He’s fucking you instead.
Tumblr media
Read now on Ao3 or below the cut:
One thing you learned very quickly about being in a relationship with Eli Michaelson was that you were second in his life to his own ego.
You didn’t mind. After all, his ego was part of what you loved about him and it wasn’t like your heart wasn’t being shared with another man. At least Eli hadn’t flown to another continent to sleep with his ego.
Eli’s favourite way to stroke his ego was to stand in front of a crowd of people being smart, so teaching was perfect for him. But when the semester ended and school ended for summer vacation, he had to find other ways to get his fix. So he swapped crowds of students for crowds of professionals, and he spent most of the summer flying to different events around the country to talk about chemistry.
Some of the events you accompanied him to, some you didn’t. You had your own literature events to attend, after all. A few weeks before the fall semester was due to begin, you and Eli flew to Chicago to attend the International Chemistry Conference, where he was due to give a speech on something or other.
It was a very prestigious event, and Eli told you to wear your best dress, so you chose the black dress Lionel had bought you. It hugged your figure just right, and frankly made your ass look great.
Eli definitely agreed. A line of press waited outside the conference with their flashing bulbs and probing questions, and he kept his arm firmly around your waist as he answered questions from the press. You mostly smiled and pretended to know what he was talking about when the sciencey questions came up, and when the more personal questions came, you chipped in and did your best to satisfy the press without really giving them much of anything.
When you finally reached the door to the building, Eli let you walk up the stairs first, and you heard him groaning hungrily as he watched you.
”Did you have to wear a dress so tight on the ass?” he muttered in your ear when you got inside, where it was significantly quieter. You both showed your IDs and were pointed to a dressing room to wait in until it was Eli’s time to go on stage. He was one of the first speakers, so once he was done you’d be free to go back to the hotel and fuck.
That, it quickly became apparent, wasn’t soon enough for Eli. As soon as he locked the dressing room door behind him, he grabbed your hips, shoved you against the wall, and grabbed at the fabric of your skirt to lift it up.
”Eli, what are you doing?” you gasped, although you naturally raised your ass in the air to give him access.
”You’re such a minx,” he growled in reply, and from behind you you heard the sound of his belt unbuckling. “Wearing that tight little skirt. Wanted to send me on stage with a boner, huh?”
He tugged your panties down your legs and you felt his rock-hard cock rubbing against your folds. You whined, both aroused and concerned that the conference was starting, and he’d be due on stage any minute. In the corner of the room, a television was streaming the event, and just as Harvey Parrish, one of Eli’s colleagues, came onto the stage, Eli grunted as he entered you.
”Aren’t you up first?” you asked.
”Mmm,” Eli grunted in reply. “Better take my cock hard and fast then, sweetheart.”
”Ah - Eli!” you cried out as he began slamming into you, your hands grabbing desperately at the wall for purchase. “Eli, they’re expecting you any minute!”
”Not until you’ve cum, sweetheart.”
You groaned in frustration as Eli continued pounding into you from behind, your already flimsy grip on the wall slipping with the force of his thrusts.
You glanced up at the television screen in the corner. Dr Parrish had told a joke and was soaking in the audience’s laughter.
Eli grabbed the back of your neck and forced your head down.
”Don’t you dare look at Harvey while I’m fucking you. He’s only got so many shit jokes he can stall with, so you’d better cum fast. Can’t be late for my speech now, can I?”
”Stop - ah! - stop fucking pressuring me, Eli —“
”I’ll show you pressure.”
He shoved you flush against the wall, sandwiched between the hard brick and his surprisingly strong body.
”Such a tight skirt on that ass, you really expected me to wait?” Eli chuckled. “You know I can’t control myself when it comes to you.”
”Our first speaker is a very highly regarded scientist —“
Eli wrapped one arm around your torso firmly while his other hand reached around to rub at your clit. You cried out his name in surprise, just as Eli’s colleague on the screen spoke it in a much more subdued manner.
“Eli —“
”Eli Michaelson, acclaimed professor of chemistry —“
”Doctor Eli Michaelson, jackass,” Eli growled at the screen.
”— and Nobel Laureate is here today to speak about the triple-alpha process —“
”They’re gonna come looking for you —“
”They probably - fuck - already are. You want them to find us like this? What a scandal.” Eli paused to catch his breath, then said, “Even Lionel couldn’t stop the press talking about Dr [L/n] making her acclaimed colleague late for his speech by - mhm - seducing him with her… haaaah, her cute little ass.”
His face was buried against your shoulder blades, and you could feel the sweat dripping off his forehead. His cock was still relentlessly spearing into you, his fingers dancing around your clit, and despite the absurdity of the situation you could feel your orgasm beginning to creep up on you.
On the screen, Dr Parrish introduced Eli, and there was an awkward pause when nobody came onto the stage.
Eli barked a laugh. “Sorry, buddy. Busy.”
You were almost in tears, you were so frustrated.
”Eli, you - you need to go —“
”Not until you milk me dry, sweetheart. You want me to go out on that stage with a boner?”
“Er, sorry about this, folks. Seems we can’t find Dr Michaelson. I’m being told someone’s going to look for him now.”
”Eli, they’re coming!”
”Not - until - you!” Eli growled, and he slapped your ass for good measure. You yelped, but you still didn’t cum, so he pulled out of you with a sigh of frustration and grabbed your arm to throw you towards the dresser. He picked you up to perch on the edge and re-entered you swiftly, sliding right back into place.
”Stupid slut. Can’t even cum when she’s told.”
“I was - I was nearly there - oh god, Eli —“
”Yes… yes, that’s it, sweetheart.”
On the screen, Dr Parrish was still stalling. ”And then the butcher said to the baker…”
“Fuck, Eli… Eli…”
”Yes, that’s it, good girl… good little slut, come all over daddy’s cock…”
”N - need - harder - please —“
Eli grinned and obeyed happily, the entire dresser rattling as it shook under the force of the ferocity with which he was fucking you.
You grabbed onto his shoulders, clinging onto him desperately, and called out his name as your walls tightened around him and you felt your orgasm crashing over you. It had hardly subsided when Eli pulled out of you suddenly, pumped his cock, and came over you with reckless abandon, seemingly trying to get as much of his seed anywhere he could.
“You bastard! This dress was expensive!”
Eli just grinned with satisfaction as he grabbed a tissue from the dresser and wiped himself down.
Then came the knock on the door.
“Dr Michaelson, are you in there? We need you out on stage, sir.”
“Just a minute!” he called back, but he kept his eyes on you. “[Y/n]’s been sick, I’m just cleaning her up.”
”Bastard,” you repeated.
Eli tucked himself back in his pants, then kissed you sloppily.
“Sorry, no time for aftercare. I got a speech to give.”
He dashed off, leaving you stunned, sticky, and desperately craving his touch as he slipped out of the dressing room.
Irritated but also completely into it, you pulled your dress over your head and laid it over the back of a chair before heading into the dressing room’s en-suite to clean yourself up. You kept the door open so you still had sight of the TV.
“And I’m told he’s been found! Ladies and gentlemen - Dr Eli Michaelson!”
Dr Parrish smiled and clapped, and anyone who didn’t know him would have no idea that he detested the man he was now applauding.
Eli sauntered onto the stage, looking stupidly smug, smiling charmingly with his stupid lips that had just kissed you goodbye, waving politely at the audience with the stupid hand that had just been rubbing your clit. How you could both love and loathe the man so much, you had no idea. All you knew was that the more arrogant he was, the more aroused you were, because you knew that at the end of the day it was you who was in his bed.
Your phone on the dresser buzzed, and you pulled on some clean underwear - you always carried a spare pair in your bag when you were out with Eli, because it was inevitable you’d need it - and went to pick it up.
Lionel Shabandar: Did you and Eli just fuck backstage at the ICC?
You glanced around in alarm, wondering if someone was spying on you.
You: How the fuck did you know?
Lionel: His shirt’s untucked.
You looked up at the screen and stifled a giggle when a full-length shot of Eli showed that, just as Lionel said, the bottom of Eli’s shirt was poking out from under his jacket.
You: Didn’t twig the ICC as your kind of thing.
Lionel: It’s not. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of you, but I bet you’re still cleaning up, aren’t you?
You: Got as far as putting clean panties on before you buzzed.
Lionel: Show me.
You utilised the mirror to snap a picture of yourself, naked except for your panties, and sent it to Lionel with a wink emoji.
Lionel: Is that the dress I bought you?
You realised far too late that your dress, which Lionel had indeed bought you, could be seen hanging on the chair in the back of the photo. And, worse, the stain was clearly visible.
Lionel: You are in big trouble, little cub.
You: What you gonna do?
Lionel: You left that red dress here that Eli bought you. Maybe I’ll cum all over that one and post it to you.
You: I dare you to post it to Eli.
You: At work.
Lionel: Don’t joke around, because I will.
There came another knock on the door, so you put the phone down and threw a robe on.
“Yes?” you said as you poked your head around the door.
“Dr [L/n], I’ve been asked to bring you these.”
The stagehand offered you a pile of clothes, sweatpants and a t-shirt.
“Asked by who?”
“Uh, well, my boss asked me but I think Dr Michaelson asked him before he went on stage.”
“Thanks. I, uh - threw up on my dress.” You took the clothes with a grateful smile. “Not feeling well. Stomach bug. I’ll just… wait in here ‘til Eli’s done.”
“No problem, Dr [L/n]. Have a nice day.”
The stagehand left and you quickly retreated back into the dressing room. No time for aftercare, Eli had said, yet here he was making sure you got some clean clothes.
His speech lasted about an hour, of which you understood approximately zero, but apparently it went well because he got a big round of applause afterwards. He sauntered off the stage, passing the microphone back to Dr Parrish with a wink, and a few minutes later he was back in the dressing room, glowing in the way that he did when his ego had just been stroked.
“Wasn’t I great? Ah, they sorted you some clothes, excellent. I haven’t stained the dress, I hope? That’s a lie, I hope I have.”
“I dunno, maybe,” you said thoughtfully, examining the fabric. You’d run it under the tap and scrubbed it with the handsoap so that all that remained was a wet patch, but only when it dried would you know the true extent of the damage.
“Shabandar’s gonna be pissed I stained the dress he bought you,” Eli said proudly. He wrapped his arms around you from behind as you examined the dress, and suddenly your attention was elsewhere. Even after an hour, you were still craving his touch.
“And I’m gonna be pissed if I don’t get a damn drink soon,” you replied, leaning into his touch. “Please tell me there’s an after party.”
“‘Course there is. Come on, let’s head back to the hotel. We’ll fuck again, get you into your backup dress, and then I’ll ruin that one too. Then we might go to the party if it’s still going once we’re done fucking.”
You snorted and batted his arm playfully. “As if you’d miss out on that party. All those sciencey people shoving their heads up your ass.”
”I’d rather be up your ass.”
”Eli, stop!” you laughed. “Come on, let’s go. Sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can fuck, and the sooner you can go get your ego stroked.”
”I’d like you to stroke my —“
”Eli!”
You rolled your eyes at him, but you laughed as you bundled up the dress then grabbed your phone, coat and bag. Your boyfriend was a complete sex pest, but you wouldn’t have him any other way.

Out the window.
(On my birthday, my gift to you lovelies is a scenario.)
Even Gotham's notorious super villains can tap dance on people's nerves and this isn't the time to be silent.
Scarecrow: You were trying to relax and appreciate some time to yourself where you had no obligations or responsibilities. However, an awful feeling was irritating you by the minute. Specifically the feeling you were being watched. You knew the source though as there, just a few feet away, was Jonathan staring into your very soul. Him being a sociopath and staring at you only made the feeling worse. You sighed and turned to look at him. "I am going to throw you out the bloody window." That was enough to make him break his stare and exhale before busying himself.
The Riddler: You couldn't pick up what he was talking about he talking so fast and not taking a breath. He spent a lot of time talking at you. Not to you. Depending on the day, it could be more annoying than ever. Like now. You slowly stared him down, your blinking becoming less and less frequent. Eventually, he noticed, slowing down as well."I am going to throw you out the bloody window." The Riddler replied without a hitch. "That wouldn't be recommended or productive, my dear." The Riddler replied smoothly.
Black Mask: Roman gets really detailed when it comes to killing. He's a sadist yes, but Roman will absolutely sit there and go into every little detail of his plan to torture. Of course, he decided to talk about that over dinner. He dug into his steak with no issues, a sharp knife in hand as he went into brutal detail of the satisfying noises he can hear whilst peeling someone's face off. "I am going to throw you out the bloody window." You deadpanned and he went still. After a moment he seemed to realise what you were referring to and he burst out laughing. "Putting you off your food, am I?" You clenched your jaw. "You know I was looking forward to this, Roman."
Two-Face: Both alters could speak freely aswell as have their monologues to each other in their heads. Although Harvey said it was easier to speak the conflicting thoughts out loud. The two alters weren't always so in sync and that often meant watching a man argue with himself with two different voices. Both getting faster and louder. The more annoyed he'd get the more dependent on the coin he is. With every flip, an alter got the chance to speak. Heads was Harvey and the scratched up tails side was Harv'. It could be annoying but it was actually more creepy and got more and more aggressive until they noticed you were staring. "I am going to throw you two out the bloody window." You dead panned. Harv' took that much more literally than Harvey.
Firefly: "Oh, look at you, you beautiful, sexy thing. You're just a force to be reckoned with, aren't ya? Don't worry, baby, I'll be real gentle." Firefly was talking to himself as he watched the lit candle, specifically the flame. He felt a pair of eyes on him. He looked over to see you watching him with definite judgement. "I am going to throw you out the bloody window." You deadpanned. "Aw don't worry about it, you can still be my number two?" Firefly offered. "I'll give you two a moment alone. Just don't touch my candle." You replied.

Could nandermo ever go canon? What's the probability? Cus I think the show runners are being weird about it
I honestly do think it will become canon eventually, just maybe not in the way a lot of people want/expect. The wwdits writers are well-known for throwing curveballs at us when we think we know what’s going to happen (i.e. S4E9 “Freddie”, where we all thought Nandor would be jealous of Freddie instead of becoming infatuated with him).
The writers have definitely been building up the romantic tension between Nandermo as the seasons progress though, and I think the fact that in the two most recent seasons they’ve gone out of their way to show the audience that - yes, all of the vampires are canonically queer as fuck, and yes, Guillermo is canonically gay - is telling. It’s meant to indicate to the audience that a romantic pairing between Nandor and Guillermo is 100% a thing that could happen.
Additionally, it’s been shown multiple times that no matter how hard Nandor tries, he can’t find a companion or love interest who truly makes him happy like Guillermo does. And despite the shit Nandor and the other vamps put him through, Guillermo is so down bad for his master that he comes back to be his familiar every time anyway, even when he’s been established to be a better fighter and way more competent than Nandor. Heck, he’s already at least partly a vampire now - why would he need to stick around? And he used to be a bodyguard, so why has he simply reverted back to doting on Nandor?
I also think fan feedback on the ship has been pretty overwhelmingly positive and has only grown since Guillermo was first implied to have feelings for Nandor in season 3. There have been recent articles acknowledging the “will they, won’t they” of their relationship too, and I’ve definitely seen more charged chemistry in the Nandermo scenes in season 5 with the way Harvey and Kayvan are playing the characters.
So while yes, I think that Nandermo will eventually become canon, I’m still not certain it will happen this season (I remember thinking it might happen in s3 or s4 and was disappointed lol). They may drag this out til the end of the show… Or maybe at the end of this season, they’ll pull a “they finally kiss but there are misunderstandings that keep them from being together” - like Nandor finding out that Guillermo went to Derek to turn him and feeling betrayed. I would honestly not be mad if they went that route because then at least there would be confirmation that this is a ship that is being taken seriously by the writers and not just something they tease.

Hello, I see the asks are open! Here is some of this cake I got after killing a slime in the skull cavern: 🍰 just ignore the purple slime on it, I'm sure it's fine. lol. Definitely not a bribe. Anyway.
I made a character recently who adopted a child. Could I ask for some headcannons for how the characters react to the farmer tearing up after their adopted child casually calls them dad/mom for the first time.
For context, their adoption was from before they moved to stardew valley but is still pretty recent and the child has a few abandonment issues so it's a pretty big deal. If it's ok, could I ask for the expanded characters as well?
*Chewing cake* Oh, I thought that purple thing was plum jam. Hmm... *Still chewing the cake* Delicious 😋 Thank you! So, about the question...
I'm not sure, dear anon, exactly which characters you meant, so I did the bachelors/ettes, also added the ones from SVE as well. Thanks for the question! Enjoy!
Hedcanons is written on a situation where the characters know for the situation of the Farmer and their child, that they had adopted the kid before coming to the Valley, and that the child had a sense of abandonment.
SDV/SVE bachelors:
Shane understands more than anyone how much a tsunami of emotions can knock you down at times like this. The day he put Jas to bed and she sleepily called him "Dad" he'll never forget. The girl had already forgotten it, but Shane remembered it forever.
A feeling of abandonment... When Alex's abusive father left him alone with his mother, and later she passed away... It took athlete a long time to shake off the feeling of being unwanted. It's a blessing that he still has his grandparents, and that this child has a loving parent, Farmer.
If you see a little river coming out of nowhere near your feet, just know it's all Elliott's tears. The writer was so touched by the event, its like as if it was his own child calling him father. Elliott doesn't want to get involved right now, but he will congratulate Farmer later.
Sebastian, without noticing it himself, smiled broadly as the crying Farmer hugged their adopted child. Even though he doesn't fully realize how important this is to Farmer, he's genuinely happy for them.
Sam, who in the absence of his father has become not only Vincent's best big brother but now part father figure, truly understands Farmer, even if their situations are a bit different. Every child should have a family and Sammy is glad that this kid have the Farmer in their life.
Humanity is capable of incredible cruelty, but also great compassion and kindness. And Harvey's glasses get a little wet when he witnesses true kindness. He can't put into words how happy he is for this kid and how proud he is of Farmer.
Victor would definitely need a whole box of tissues, maybe two. The fact that the Farmer's foster child could finally feel like a member of the family touched Victor so much that he cried quietly.
The sight of a crying Farmer hugging their kid makes Magnus both smile and feel unbearably sad at the same time. What it's like when a child calls you dad, alas, Magnus will probably never know.
Lance's heart filled with joy when abandoned children found a family again. The adventurer, however, took it upon himself to scold the Farmer if they risked their lives for no good reason, where a child might be left without a family again.
SDV/SVE bachelorettes:
Penny had to cover her face with her hands, for her face was already a little swollen and red from the endless flow of tears. How happy Penny is for them! The girl wishes all the best for this family.
No child should ever feel abandoned, and Leah is very proud of Farmer that even though they were young, they were able to be a great parent to a child. It's not something everyone can do.
As much as Abigail tried to hide her tears, she failed. And you know what? She doesn't care! Even a man with a stone for a heart would shed a tear. The little one deserves a home and a loving family. Hell yeah, Farmer, good job!
Oh, how happy Emily is for them, how happy she is! Happy people and acts of kindness will always overwhelm her with positive emotions. Especially after all the troubles the kid has been through, she is glad child found people who love and care for them.
"Awww" Maru couldn't help gasp in tenderness, and can you blame her when her friend and their child are so happy? She would congratulate Farmer later, she didn't want to distract them right now.
As Haley was about to take a picture of the happy family to give to them later, she stopped herself at the last moment. It seemed to her that it was too personal to take a picture without asking. So Haley would only observe this beautiful scene. Ugh, her tears made her mascara run....
Sophia is about to cry herself to tears. Such a touching moment, she just can't hold back her tears at the sight of her crying friend and how much a child's words mean to Farmer.
Coming out of Jojamart for a break, Claire happened to witness this moment when she saw Farmer standing in the park in the spot where the cashier usually rested. They were crying and cuddling their child. She was very happy for both of them, and decided to rest elsewhere, not wanting to disturb the parent and their kid.
The happy child and their wonderful parent are sure to be the first gossip Olivia tells her friends. Running a farm and giving a family to an adopted kid is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility, and the woman is genuinely happy for the child and proud of Farmer.

What is your ideal ghostbat dynamic?
Oh it's definitely the thrice-divorced snarky middle-aged men performing intricate rituals thing they currently got going on.
Tumblr media
Batman 2022 Annual
Bruce Wayne, being a character with almost a century of history, has beein paired with so many individuals. There's a lot of relationships he's formed over time, but a particularly interesting type is the people-who-knew-him-before-Batman category. Harvey Dent, Thomas Eliot, Zatanna Zatara, Talia al Ghul... and now Minhkhoa Khan. Obviously, quite a lot of these characters ended up as unequivocal villains Batman has had to fight (Two-Face, Hush) while Zatanna remained a childhood-friend-and-almost-lover. Talia and Khoa are more complicated; they're definitely not heroes, not exactly on the same side as Bruce. But they aren't downright villains either. The waters are more muddled. In Talia's case there's the conflict between her loyalty and love for her father, duty and legacy; this opposition to Bruce's own goals was there from the start. But (to finally get to my point with this tangent) there was no such thing with Khoa, and that's basically my main draw to the ship. Bruce has other people that know him as just Bruce and not Batman, or as the in-between (all unique and complex relationships in their own right), but I can only think of Khoa as someone who was present for Batman being forged. While Talia was there when Bruce was training, she didn't share the same goal of combating crime, but Khoa did. For someone so desperately lonely as Bruce is, having someone to share that road with meant so much. Not only that, Khoa contributed to the formation of Batman by engaging him in the wild competitive streak they share, by pushing Bruce to rise to his level.
Hence... the unique kind of familiarity they have even decades later, despite the numerous betrayals along the way. That's an ideal component to me-- Bruce feeling like he can easily be himself. It's a rarity to him, since he plays so many different roles to many different people. And after Alfred's death, someone so important who knew him utterly and supported him from the start, he clearly missed it. It didn't really matter that Khoa killed dozens of people when he showed up in Gotham and literally declared he'll traumatize Bruce by killing a kid in front of him (which he probably would have done, if Harley hadn't managed to be as persuasive as she was). After Selina leaving him, Dick getting shot, his own father and Bane taking his city away, Alfred dying, losing his fortune and Joker War happening... myeah, I really feel like Khoa showed up at the perfect moment.
Which leads me to another component of their dynamic that I favor, and that's both of them being manipulative assholes and equals capable of kicking each other's asses. Why did Khoa show up with all of his resources after Joker War specifically? Why did Bruce ask him to stay so readily, forgoing the things Khoa had done? Hah. Khoa's undoubtedly been obsessed with Bruce, if keeping tabs on him and seeking out Jonathan Crane to learn fear and hell, even getting a sidekick to mirror Batman having a Robin is any indication. He gets to be close to Bruce and potentially ingratiate himself to him while fully knowing Bruce is using him, and Bruce knows it too-- but he's still allowing himself to depend on Khoa's resources and on him becoming part of Batman Incorporated and the more extended Bat-team. Khoa's always been manipulative; wonder if Bruce ever found out that in The Knight #4, Khoa was the one to tell those assassins Bruce's location, thus orchestrating a situation in which Bruce would finally accept to take him with him. But then, while they were training with Avery, Bruce was manipulative back, and you can literally see Khoa falling in love over it in The Knight #5, after Bruce distracts him with flirting and then steals the book.
At the end of the day, Khoa is a psychopath; perhaps not the sadistic kind, but he still operates as one, and Bruce can not only handle it, but he can handle it well. He's proven himself to be an equal, someone who challenges Khoa to improve and become better. Thing is, psychopaths overlap with narcissists a lot due to a basic reason. For neurotypical individuals, empathy acts as a way to see conspecifics as others, but like-minded others. You see other people think and emote like you, and you register them as human beings just like you. 'I feel what you feel, therefore we are the same.' But psychopaths work differently, in the sense that they often have excellent cognitive empathy, but a dulled affective one. They can tell how people think, but emotionally these things don't resonate with them-- the consequence being that they don't easily register others as equals, like-minded others. It's easy to then see yourself as the most valuable individual ever, as the center of the world, because you haven't truly ever shared that world. Which is why, when a psychopath meets someone they can relate to... they don't just relate, they become obsessed. Much like Khoa has. If all your life you felt you're separate from everyone else, having this kind of connection is life-changing, and you'll do whatever you need to preserve it. Including manipulative and murderous acts. But that's fine, because Bruce is attracted to this kind of thing. He himself has thought at some point about a woman (Jezebel Jet) that he should've known she was villainous and would betray him, because he had been attracted to her. I could get into Bruce's dating history and what it says about his preferences, but 'nuff said.
...Anyway, this got away from me, Anon :)) You probably didn't expect a whole-ass essay, but I hope you enjoyed reading through my personal take on them. I really like Khoa's character, since it's not often you get a morally-grey and complex psychopath like him, in comics. But to summarize my answer, my ideal Ghostbat dynamic is definitely one based on them being equals who know each other on a fundamental level, capable of handling both the good parts and the bad parts of the other; the one that solidified after decades of a push-and-pull between their core principles and ideals.

How do you feel about the question of the bachelors and bachelorettes only dating the farmer out of obligation for everything they’ve done for them and the town?
The Bachelor/ettes Only Marrying Out of Guilt
Ooh, this is an interesting one. I don't really think any of them would marry out of obligation, but this is too good to pass up. TW for all that unhappy relationship stuff. Also, they're pretty long for my standard and I kind of went crazy trying to make them as sad and depressing as possible so be warned if you're sensitive to that.
Tumblr media
Bachelors:
Sam
Sam married you because of the good you did for him and his family. You helped his mother with all the stress she was under, got Vincent's grades up, helped Kent readjust to life in the valley, and most of all: you helped him. He feels after all you've helped him through, he'd be a bad person to not accept your bouquet.
And it just went from there. He considered breaking up, just letting it be how it should, but he didn't want to break your heart. All he did was hope and hope you didn't come home with a mermaid's pendant one day. But lo and behold, you did. And now he's married.
It's not that he hates you, he just wishes he wasn't stuck in this position.
Elliott
Elliott married you because of the good you did for the community. He's very much a community man at heart, and always liked you for helping out around town. But he never expected you to come to him with a bouquet. He was, in all honesty, a little taken aback. He knew you liked him, but like that?
He was suddenly left with a choice. Turn you down, which meant breaking your kind heart, or accept the bouquet, which meant being stuck with you as a partner. In all honesty, he didn't like either of those choices. But in the heat of the moment, he accepted the bouquet, and regretted it almost immediately.
He spent the rest of his days waiting for the relationship to end. He never loved you like that. He cared for you, sure, but he never had romantic feelings for you. He really wished he could be in a relationship he was happy with, but he's not the kind to cheat. So, he just waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and...
Sebastian
Sebastian married you because of how kind you were. You were always there to offer a helping hand - even on the day's when he was at his rudest. He felt he owed a great deal to you. So, when you asked him out, he felt like it was the least he could do to accept. He planned on breaking up with you soon, sure, but that could be handled. He'd just say he liked you better as a friend. Not hard, right?
But you looked so happy with him. He'd never seen anyone smile so much. And now there's this pit in his stomach whenever he works up the courage to tell the truth. He's always so close to doing it, to just setting the both of you free, but he can't.
Though he won't Sebastian gets the closest out of anyone to cheating. If her were younger he definitely would, but he's matured now that he's older. And he doesn't want to hurt you like that. Cheating would be a bad thing, but then again he just can't break up with you. So, what does he do? That's right, he stays unhappy in the relationship (and eventual marriage) for the rest of his days.
Harvey
Harvey marries you because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. What can I say? He's that kind of guy. He's totally oblivious to the fact that you have feelings for him, and as such it caught completely off guard when you hand him the bouquet of flowers. He just says yes out of instinct. He hates himself for not thinking it through.
Though, I think Harvey would be better than some of the others when he's actually in the relationship. Before marriage, he's still able to work at the clinic and live life normally with the other residents. But once you ask him to marry, that changes.
There has always been (AKA I'm pretending for the sake of this headcanon there has always been) an unspoken rule that someone has to stay at home. Whichever partner it be didn't matter, but someone was the breadwinner and someone took care of the house. Harvey knew this, and was devastated when he realised it was going to be him that had to stay at home. He did consider going against the norm, but the house needed so much upkeep that you couldn't handle on your own.
He spends the rest of his days dreaming of a better life. As much as he hates himself for it, he wonders what his life would be like if you never showed up to the valley.
Shane
Shane marries you because of how you helped him. You got him out of the roughest part of his entire life. How can he thank you enough for that? He still struggles with self-esteem, so when that bouquet shows up at his front doorstep, he manages to peer pressure himself into accepting it.
That walk to your house was awful. It made him sick to see your smile so wide and your laugh so bright. He hated every bit of it. He wished you would yell at him. Tell him it was a joke at call him names for thinking it was legit. He wished you would snatch the bouquet from his hands and throw it in his face.
But you didn't. You accepted his acceptation with the bubbliest personality he'd ever seen. You squealed and spun around and smiled. That smile. He'll never get it out of his head. It's what forced him to stay all those years. To marry you. To move into your house. To maybe even father your children.
It made him sick.
Alex
Alex marries you because of the good you did for his grandparents. He loved you so much more being so kind to them. They were the only living family he had left. But he never meant for those feelings to come off as romantic. He never expected you to get giddy and gossip about his supposed crush on you with your friends. And most of all, he never expected you to put so much effort into that confession.
He came to your farm that night expecting nothing more than a friendly hangout and maybe a movie or two. He was not expecting the farmhouse to be decorated head-to-toe like that, nor was he expecting you to put so much effort into your outfit. He had to admit, you looked gorgeous. But that sense of second-hand pride vanished when you moved your hands from behind your back to reveal a bouquet.
His heart sank. Oh no. So, this is what's going on. Well, what's he supposed to do? He can't reject you like this. Not here. Not now. Maybe he could leave. Make an excuse to come back tomorrow. But that would mean basically the same thing! Maybe he should accept it. Pretend for a few weeks. That's what people do, right? Right?
Bachelorettes:
Penny
Penny marries you because of the good you did for the community. She always wanted to change things in town, to bring back the life and youthful spark it once had. but she always felt like she was too weak. So, when you came along and did all that for her... Well, she was amazed.
She was not amazed however the morning you gave her the bouquet. Turns out, all that embarrassed stuttering had been interpreted as romantic feelings, and not her being just a teensy bit scared of how cool you were.
But this is Penny, and so of course she's going to get flustered. I mean, wouldn't anyone? You don't have to like a person to get all emotional that they like you. But, once again, you interpreted this as her liking you back. You immediately wrapped your arms around her in a tight hug, and now there was nothing Penny could do.
Leah
Leah marries you because of the good you did for the community. Like Penny, she too wanted to change the community dynamic in Pelican town but didn't know how. She always thought it could be done through her art, but we all know she was too embarrassed to show it off.
But that's when you came along. You helped her gain the confidence to show off her skills. And sweet Yoba, was it fun! For the first time in forever she didn't feel as insecure about her sculptures. Yeah, sharing them with you and Elliott was fine, but she was always nervous about what the more critical townies would think. But you helped her through that, and she couldn't thank you enough...
... Is what she thought before you came to her with that bouquet. She had seen it before, right behind Pierre's counter on a Tuesday afternoon. She had seen you eyeing it but had never realised who you wanted to give it to. And wow, did she get a shock.
At first, being in a relationship with you wasn't so bad. Sure, those looks from the townies weren't great, and it wasn't fun listening to everyone ask questions, and it sure as hell was even worse listening to Elliott go on about how 'true love prevails against all,' and yeah, maybe she was reminded a bit of her ex, but... Oh no. She doesn't like this at all.
Abigail
Abigail marries you because of the good you did for her. You were always there when she needed you. When things were going bad, her first thought was to run to you. And you were always there. You always gave her exactly what she needed. So, when that bouquet was left in her hands, she felt like she had no choice.
Abigail's having the easiest time in the relationship. Yeah, it sucks that this happened, but for the most part she got to pretend you two were still just friends. It was her coping mechanism, I suppose, to repress the truth and pretend that everything was fine. It's what she usually did. But slowly it became harder to ignore the truth. Things settled down. She got older. And it was only a few years into this mess did she realise what she had gotten herself into.
Abigail's next plan of action is to get out of this place. She did, in fact, try breaking up with you once. But it went so horribly she told you it was a dare Sebastian forced her to do. Oh, right, I forgot to mention everyone is well aware of how unhappy Abigail is. But they don't have the heart to tell you that.
Maru
Maru marries you because of the good you did for the... Everything. You rebuilt the community centre, you helped everyone overcome their struggles, hell, you even brought her and Sebastian closer together. Why wouldn't she panic and hide after seeing that bouquet?
Yeah, she runs. Honestly, in the moment it's not a bad idea. She needed time and so she took it. At first, things were going fine. She had time to plan stuff out. But then came the news: you were devastated. Apparently, you had absolutely crumbled upon Maru's response. Well, now what?
Maru organised a meeting with you at your house. There, she planned on telling you the truth and hopefully walking you through any emotions you might be feeling. But that didn't happen. The minute she brought up the bouquet you burst into tears and just told her how much you loved her. And so, out of a pure first instinct reaction, she says she loves you too.
Emily
Emily marries you because of the good you did for Haley and the community. Not only did you save the town from succumbing to Joja Corp., but you also helped Haley come out of her shell and be the person she really is. She was so keen on you for bringing her and her sister together. She was not keen, however, on the bouquet you were holding.
You had planned an extravagant trip together. You were going all the way through the Secret Woods, which, by the way, you had spent all morning decorating to make it look perfect. At first, she was enjoying it. But when you told her there was something on her mind... Well, that's when her heart sank.
If you hadn't put so much effort into making this as perfect as possible, she would have turned you down. Really! But she saw the look of desperation in your eyes and just knew she couldn't bring herself to say no. She was miserable, but it's what she forced herself to do.
Haley
Haley marries you because of the good you did for her. For all these years she had been covering up who she truly was; pretending she was just another mean girl who didn't want friends. But you brought her out of that. You helped her become who she truly was. And she was so, so thankful for it.
When you gave her that bouquet in the flower field, she almost considered turning you down. But she had fooled herself into thinking she really was in love with you. She accepted the bouquet with a smile, and for the first month or so things went on without an issue.
It was only during the second month did she start having doubts. Yeah, she wasn't hating her situation, but it didn't feel like she expected. She never got anything out of those kisses, or those dates, or those 'I love you's. She never got anything out of any of it.
And that's when she realised. She wasn't in love. She never was. She had just tricked herself into thinking she did love you. But it was a lie! She wasn't happy; she never was. And she did consider breaking up with you, and got pretty close a few times, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. Because, after all, she still managed to trick herself into thinking she didn't mind being your partner. And she hated it.

Mmm, angst. Tell me what you guys think! How dark is it, lol (I honestly can't tell if it's not dark enough).

Hey there, I've been seeing your posts come across my dash more and I think you have some very interesting posts :)
I have been doing some reading on RAMCOA, mostly academic papers alongside my usual DID and mental health research (Irecommend Jeni Hayne's autobiographical novel "The Girl in the Green Dress" if you haven't read it yet. It's a beautiful autobiography by a system in collaboration with their long term psychiatrist, George Blair. It contains some fascinating discussion on system experience with polyfagmented DID. tws: descriptive SA, abuse, court involvement). RAMCOA isn't talked about very much, and I'm curious how I can support people who've been through it, along with what it entails/displays as etc. I haven't managed to find a good definition of what programming entails. As far as I understand, it's the mistreatment of a person with the intention of creating a disassociated personality state.. is that close to it?
And, do you have any suggestions for good resources to learn more of RAMCOA and programming?
Hi there! I'm glad you like the blog.
Thank you for recommending Haynes's autobiography. I was aware of her case and she is such an inspiration to me but I was unaware that she had written a book about it all. I will certainly check it out. On that note, if you are interested in polyfragmentation, I recommend Richard Kluft's work.
Your understanding of programming is accurate. Programming is extreme abuse and extreme conditioning meant to either create a system (with specific alters, structures, behaviors) in a young child who does not yet have DID or to create these specific alters, structures, and behaviors in a child who has already developed DID. Conditioning, Pavlovian and operant, is the basis of all of this and you must understand these forms of conditioning and how they can be taken to an extreme.
As for resources, I recommend the writings of Alison Miller (Becoming Yourself and Healing the Unimaginable), Michael Salter (Organized Sexual Abuse and a litany of other papers and articles-- have a look at his ResearchGate profile, there's really a lot!), and Harvey L. Schwartz (The Alchemy of Wolves and Sheep and Forgotten Voices). These are all specific to RAMCOA/OEA, but I suggest learning about polyfragmentation and conditioning as well as learning about trauma in general. There is a lot of research coming out now about ACE scores + outcomes and what chronic stress and recurring trauma does to the human body by acting on the HPA axis.
I have been very busy these past few months but when things have settled down for me, I intend to make a masterpost or some kind of compilation of resources, books, articles, etc.

Get to know you – Samantha Harvey

Masterlist - Previously - Next Chapter
TW: mention of panic attacks
You can tell me what you like We should jump right into the personal facts
“Oh Lyanna I’m so happy you finally made a friend!”
“He’s not a friend mom, he’s just my neighbor” she answers, scolding her mother while a soft smile is playing on her lips.
“Still, he’s a human being and you barely interact with people nowadays. I consider that as a progress!”
“I’m talking to people mom! It’s kinda part of my job, you know.”
“I meant willingly talking to people, Lya.”
Lyanna sighs. She is not really a social person. She only talks to people when she has to. She had never had a large group of friends. She only has three close friends that she has known since she was a kid and have been part of her life ever since. She could trust them with her life and she considers them as family. She told her mom that she had work to do and hung up. It didn’t matter if it’s half true.
She should not have talked about Charles to her mom. She will keep asking questions about him and force her to interact with her neighbor. It’s not that she was not interested in talking to him, she simply didn’t see the point of it. She will leave soon, why would she make a new friend? Her psychologist would scold her. Lyanna, you need to put yourself out there, you need to meet new people, you need to trust people. Not everyone will stab you in the back.
But a part of her wanted to prove to her mom that she was fine, that she was not alone and was following her psychologist advice. Then again, it’s not entirely true but what her mom didn’t know couldn’t hurt her, right?
She glared at the grocery shopping bags that were waiting for her in the entrance and without knowing how, her mind drifted to Charles. A good neighbor that is new in the building should try to be civilized and polite. She should go out and properly introduce herself. That’s what she was supposed to do, right? At least, she thought so. She had never done that in the past. She didn’t know how to interact with normal people. She never goes out if she doesn’t have to. Hell, she used the delivery option usually when it comes to grocery shopping. The only people she talked to are people related to work. Castmates, directors, make-up artist, hairdresser and so on. When it came to people stopping her the rare times, she was outside by herself, she put her Lyanna Michel’s mask. She was never just Lyanna, even more rarely Lya. She could feel her anxiety rising.
She reached for her phone; she plugged her headphones and almost as if she was turning into an automatic mode, she opened the application that her psychologist advised her to download when she was feeling like she was losing control. She breathed in and breathed out following the calm and soothing voice of the woman in the app.
Once she had a clear head and her breathing was steady, she opened the cupboards of her kitchen and unpacked the groceries from the bags. Food always made people happy. She wouldn’t go wrong with a cake as a “hi I’m your new neighbor” kinda thing.  At least that’s what she thought.
Two hours later she was standing in front of Charles’s apartment, a plate of chocolate muffins in her hands. Taking a deep breath, she knocked and waited. Maybe he wasn’t there? Maybe he was working? Maybe he had friends or family over and didn’t want to be disturbed? Maybe he had a girlfriend or a boyfriend? Fortunately for her (or unfortunately depending on the point of view), Charles ended her inner monologue by opening the door.
She definitely was the last person he thought would stand in front of him. He was not expecting anyone, he took his afternoon to train at home on the simulator and intended to go through his notes of the first part of the season later. Maybe go out in the evening with friends if he could find someone that was up for it. Having his neighbor over was definitely a surprise. A nice one. Out of his acquaintances, she definitely was the one he expected the less to show up at this door.
He could see that she was uncomfortable. A doe caught in the headlights would appear less frightened than her at the moment. She was shifting uncontrollably from one foot to another and her gaze was everywhere but on him.
“Hello, hi, hum… I don’t know if you remember me. I’m your neighbor, the one who lives above you and… anyway. I made muffins. Not for you specifically. I mean, you can have one if you want. Or many more, I won’t judge. What I’m trying to say is: I baked in order to introduce myself to the neighborhood and since you’re the only one that I already know I thought that I would start with you. But if I’m bothering, I can come back later. Or never. Just tell me.”
“Come in” Charles simply said.
“What? For real?”
“Well, unless you plan of eating all that by yourself here. I mean, suit yourself but sitting down would me much easier” He joked.
She nodded and followed him inside. He guided her towards an open kitchen, well equipped with sleek counters. It was way too much clean and perfect for her. As if he wasn’t using the kitchen a lot. Maybe he was the type of person who prefers ordering food online or he wasn’t at home very much.
She left the muffins on the kitchen’s bar and sat on one of the stools while Charles took two glassed from one of the cupboards and poured two glasses of water. She wasn’t feeling drinking anything other than water to be honest, her throat was dry from the anxiety.
“So you’re new to Monaco.”
It was not a question; it was a statement and it threw her of her feet a little.
“Yes, I came here because of work. I live in London originally.”
“Really? That’s so cool. Are you a Londoner born and raised?”
“Oh no. I moved there five years ago. I’m French.”
NB from the author: From there let’s pretend that all their conversations will be in French, I’ll still write them in English for obvious reasons.
“So this is where the accent comes from! It’s not noticeable at all, I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what accent you had. But still, it’s there.”
“And you, are you from here?”
“Born and raised. Couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. When did you move here”
“Two weeks ago. Didn’t go out much, spent most of the time in the apartment, working. If I’m being honest, I find it hard to enjoy living here. Everything screams money everywhere. I don’t like that. Sorry.”
“Maybe you just need someone that is from here and could show you around.”
“Are you talking about you?”
“Well, yeah why not? I don’t have much to do anyway. So, you’re up for it?”
“I don’t know. I’m really busy and being out in public is not something that I like... I have to think about it.”
Seeing how uncomfortable the topic made her, Charles decided to change the subject. Deep down he knew that it was going to take up a lot of convincing to persuade her to let him guide her around Monaco, but he was determined to make her love his city. Or at least, make her tolerate it.
“So you said, you are here for work. Can I ask you what you do for a living?
As soon as he mentioned her job, he could see a shift in her posture. Well, he seemed to know exactly how to make her at ease…
“I’m working in the entertainment industry. What about you?”
There was all the confirmation he needed. She didn’t know him. As in Charles Leclerc, F1 driver for the Scuderia Ferrari. She didn’t strike him as a F1 fan anyway in the first place, but you never know. Still as she seemed to be careful with how she was talking about her job he decided to do the same. She was nice and he didn’t think that she would run to the first tabloid if she knew what his job was, but still. Better be safe than sorry.
“I’m in the automobile industry.”
“Oh, great. Don’t know much about cars. I don’t drive and I don’t have my license, so I won’t pretend to know exactly what your job implies. Do you sell cars? Are you the one that is selling all the Ferrari I see in Monaco?” She joked.
“Well, kinda. But not really. I mean, I’m not the one to blame for all the luxurious cars around here.”
“You are really evasive about your job.”
“I could say the same thing about you.”
“True… Let’s say that my job always seems to attract bad people around me, or made me loose some people that I considered as friends.”
“Yeah, I know the feeling… sometimes I feel like my job is the only thing that defines me. People don’t look above it. I’m often reduce to it. It can be tiring but I got used to it by now.”
“Exactly! I hate that…”
A long silence followed the discussion. Charles didn’t want to rush her. He didn’t know her but he quickly understood that if she was going to talk, it would be rather on her own terms. She drank the rest of her water and contemplated the emptiness of the glass, clearly lost in thought. He right leg was bouncing. She seemed to fight he own battles inside of her. It was something Charles knew all too well.
“I know that we don’t know each other, but if I’m telling you what my job is, can you promise me to not run in the opposite direction?” she began, not looking him in the eyes.
“Not only I promise you, but also I will tell you what I do as well.” He reassured her softly.
Another long pause.
“I’m an actress.”
Seeing that Charles was not reacting, she continued.
“I came in Monaco to shoot a romcom. I’m here for three months. But maybe you saw me in the last Steven Spielberg movie, I got nominated for an Oscar for it. I don’t to want you to think I’m bragging or anything, it’s just that I want you to understand why I’m so secretive and don’t like too personal questions... I don’t want my private life to leak in the press. It happened once and it was a horrible, horrible time. So yeah… I’m very careful of who I let in in my life.”
“I’m a F1 driver. I drive for Ferrari. I travel around the world most of the year and sometimes it gets lonely. In no mean do I say that I fully understand how your job impacts your life but from my experience, I know that when you reach a certain level of fame, your entourage changes a lot. It’s harder to trust people. You never know why they are with you. But I don’t think that closing off from the rest of the world is healthy. In the end, you’re still a human being. We’re not above anyone.”
“That’s what I’m working on with my therapist. I don’t know much about F1, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t. I don’t watch a lot of movie, I don’t have the time even I would love to, so I don’t think I’ve ever seen something you’re in.”
“You don’t know how much it means to me to hear that. It’s refreshing.” She smiles softly as if he had taken a big weight off her shoulders.
“Maybe I will try to look you up online. I’m curious now. And maybe you could watch your movies with me? What do you think?”
“Only if you teach me some things about F1 and cars.”
“You’ve got yourself a deal.”

harvey needs love!!! how abt farmer trying to get him all hot n bothered in public bc he is all shy and awk in public but gets his revenge when he takes hr home. they cn be dating or married idrc
Oh lord this took a few tries. Google scarred me. btw.
Harvey was a very private man. He knew everyone in town as their doctor and he figured that it was best if that's how it stayed.
Well, until Amelia came along and decided to make the effort to learn more. They were fast friends, sharing coffee each morning and the occasional drink at the saloon. It wasn't long before he developed feelings for her. Thankfully, the feeling was mutual.
He talked her into having her annual visit and for the first time in his entire career, he dropped his professionalism thanks to that longing look in her eyes. He had just been standing close and listening to her heart. Their eyes met and, well, the doctor's appointment ended the second their lips touched.
It certainly ran much longer than an annual physical.
Ever since, the occasional drink and morning coffee turned into them being completely inseparable. It had been so long since Harvey had a girlfriend that the word felt odd on his tongue. Still, he always kept an air of professionalism when in town or around others.
Unfortunately for him, Amelia was seeing that as more of a challenge.
The Stardew Valley fair was today and she planned on flustering the man more than she had before in an attempt to ensure a fun evening. He may be shy out in the town, but he was very much outgoing in private. It was a pleasant surprise.
He showed up at her house precisely an hour before they were meant to go to the fair. Judging by the hungry kiss she'd earned just for opening the door in only her pajama bottoms and a thin tank top, her plan today was going to be more fun and a lot easier than she had hoped.
They walked into the fair, Amelia's eyes widening as she saw just how transformed the entire town square was. Hand-in-hand, they explored, stopping every so often to watch people play some games. She forewent the fortune teller, the entire concept scaring her a little bit. Harvey had gone into the tent, leaving her outside to talk to Rasmodius. Before she knew it, she was setting up her grange display, Harvey tending to a child’s scraped knee. She stepped back to admire her setup, smiling in pride as she stood beside Marnie.
“Mar, your display looks amazing. That wheel of cheese is incredible,” she praised, already resolving to not even look at the display of fruits and vegetables that she grew displayed as Pierre’s display.
“Thank you, Amelia. It's always a lot of fun to set up,” she sighed, a small smile playing on her lips, “and given that all of these people from out of town don't know any better, they try to buy the things in the display after the winner is announced.”
Amelia laughed, the older woman shifting a little closer to speak in a lower voice, “so you and Dr. Harvey seem to be getting on well, hmm?”
Amelia couldn't help but smile and look over toward the man, who was praising the child for being so brave.
“Yeah, I think so,” she replied, not worrying about her volume. It wasn't a secret.
“Do you love him?”
Amelia almost convinced herself that she definitely misheard the woman. After a moment, she laughed, a little awkwardly.
“We've only been dating for a season… And besides, I'm not even sure I'd know if it was that instead of… Well, infatuation.”
Marnie touched her arm, smiling at Amelia, “you'll be able to tell.”
Amelia gave her thanks, turning as Harvey made his way back to her side. His smile was a little wider as he returned, bending and pressing a short, sweet kiss to her lips.
She hummed in surprise, not used to experiencing any form of public affection. She smiled brightly as both of his hands held hers, “Doctor Harvey! Kissing your girlfriend in public, what's gotten into you?” she teased, knowing that sometimes she would use the doctor title to tease him with various effects.
Maybe her little mission would be easier than she thought.
“Sorry, dear,” he laughed, brushing some loose strands of hair behind her ear, “just having a good day I guess.”
She shook her head, feigning surprise, teasing like she was reading a headline, “doctor finds his day getting better with every skinned knee.”
His eyebrows shot up, “oh, Yoba, no, that is what it seemed like, isn't it?” he let out an embarrassed laugh, “I just had a good fortune reading,” he slipped his hand into hers before starting to walk again, “I promise I'm not that bad.”
Bingo.
She stood on her toes, her lips right against his ear as she teased, “you certainly could be.” she pressed a kiss where his jaw met his ear before smiling innocently up at him. She was pleased to find his face a lovely crimson. He looked shocked, though she swore there was something behind that expression. Finally, he cleared his throat and laughed, the sound a little shaken as they walked toward the food.
“I have no idea what I'm going to do with you,” he sighed, teasing before squeezing her hand, “and I'm on to you.”
She grinned, almost too excited by her terrible jokes (that hopefully wouldn't be jokes for long).
She rests her head on his shoulder, her voice only low enough for him to hear though her expression stays innocent, “I know exactly what to do with you and it does involve being on one another, I guess. I was mainly thinking of me being on yo–”
“Amelia,” he cut her off, his voice a mix of stern and pleading, a laugh still behind it, “you know that my… resilience is not as strong as yours.”
He was still joking, which was a good sign. And it was very true. When they first kissed, it was almost primal. They were both starved for touch and couldn't get enough. She worried at first that was the only reason they went as far as they did that day in the exam room. She had never felt that way when it came to sex. It turns out the need for touch only partially grazed the surface. They really just needed someone to be there with them and for them. The sex was an added bonus.
He wasn't necessarily super strong, but she was small enough to where, with a wall, he could hold her up, losing himself in her, literally and figuratively. Still, at this point, anywhere in the farmhouse was fair game.
She smirked to herself, shaking her head. It was all like she was back in her early 20s and reliving the puppy love of her previous relationships.
Though this was different. Deeper.
Was Marnie right?
She shook off the thought and looked up at Harvey, who then shifted his arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head.
“Wow, that fortune teller really said something to make you affectionate, huh?” she teased, her arm moving around his waist, her thumb slipping under his shirt subtly, touching the bare skin beneath and hooking into the waistband of his pants. She felt him tense before they approached the grills, pulling apart to get some burgers and exchange pleasantries with Elliott and Gus. Once they had their plates, she walked him to a picnic table that had one of those cheap plastic tablecloths on it. He gave her a curious look, smirking as she smiled innocently across the table at him.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” she teased, adjusting her sundress before leaning forward on the table, leaving him with a direct view of her cleavage, which he couldn't deny looking.
“Tell me, dear,” he looked back up to meet her eyes, “are you trying to,” he cleared his throat, shifting a little as someone from out of town sat at the other end of the table, “...embarrass me?”
She laughed aloud before pulling out her phone and quickly typing out a text to him, his eyebrow rising curiously:
Amelia 1:34 pm: I'm just trying to give you some hints about what I plan to do to you when we get home.
Amelia 1:34 pm: oh, and one more quick hint, dear
Amelia 1:35 pm: I'm not wearing anything at all under my dress. 😘
She hit send and placed her phone on the table, unable to hide her smile as she watched him pull his phone out. She took a bite of her burger, watching as he took his phone out and froze, reading her texts. After a long moment, he looked back up at her, eyes wide and cheeks burning.
She took advantage of his stunned silence, licking her lower lip and running her thumb over it as if she was wiping away crumbs.
Harvey shifted, leaning forward and leaning on his elbows so he could talk, his voice low, “message received loud and clear,” he watched as she laughed, her smile full of mischief as she leaned in so they were barely a foot apart, his whisper almost pleading, “now please behave. I’d rather the whole town not catch me like this.”
“Why, are you hard?” Her voice was a purr as she refused to take her eyes from his.
Harvey pulled back and looked around, worried someone might have heard. He laughed a breathy laugh, trying to play it off as if he was not flustered at all, “Amelia, what has gotten into you?”
She lifted her burger to take another bite, humming out her answer before doing so, “I was hoping you would.”
Harvey nearly choked on his drink, which he really should have known better than to take a drink right now. She stood and feigned worry, “Harv, are you alright?” he had his hand on his chest, clearing his throat before looking up at her suspiciously as she continued, “do we need to go get your inhaler from the clinic?”
She watched as his expression changed, his eyes narrowing, “I absolutely do,” his voice was laced with the tension she had built. Somehow, his voice seemed to have the effect on her that she had on him.
He leaned forward as if he were picking something up, using her to hide the fact that he even had to adjust himself. He stood, standing close before bending to press a small, firm kiss to her forehead.
“Everything I need is in exam room one,” he commented, back to his nice-town-doctor facade, “or it's about to be.”

31 Days Idol Challenge - Oliver Riedel

Day 29: At Award Ceremony
One thing I really like about photos of Rammstein from award ceremonies, is how they dress. I love how they just seem to all put on whatever they feel like, so that the more or less always have at least one 'odd man out'.
My photo of choice is this group shot from 1998 Echo Awards, because I really like how Oliver went with a choker. Photo by Axel Kirschof.
I feel like it's appropriate to add a passage from Flake's book Heute hat die Welt Geburtstag (It's the World's Birthday Today), where he wrote about when the band got nominated for their first Echo Award. It is such a good example of "six inexperienced East Germans entering the celebrity circus":
Beforehand we had long conversations about what we should wear. We definitely wanted to all wear the same thing so that people would see we were a single entity. Since this was the first time we'd been invited, we got there on time. On time meant two hours too early. When we walked down the red carpet, there was of course not the slightest reaction from the audience, which wasn't bad, however. The only person who recognized us was the security guard for Die Toten Hosen, who were also nominated and of course actually received an award. We attached ourselves to Nena's manager, whom we knew from the industry tour. We stood around in the lobby with him for hours and were horribly thirsty. Then the ceremony finally started and we thought it was all very exciting. Otto Waalkes was sitting in front of us. I stared at the back of his head the whole time. I thought back to how, when I was a kid, I would go over to our neighbor's place just to watch the Otto Show. Every single gag got rehashed all over school the next day, and I didn't want to be left out. And now I could practically touch him. I was so excited my palms were sweating. All the nominees were introduced with a short film. When they finally showed our film, there was absolutely no applause since of course no one knew who we were. There was only bored silence. I think Aerosmith got the prize. We realized that we'd gotten all dressed up for nothing and felt appropriately foolish. Thankfully though, there was a giant afterparty. We hadn't known about that either. There we could eat and drink as much as we wanted and didn't have to pay. We weren't the only ones who got exorbitantly drunk; those who were still there at four stayed till six. Moses Pelham broke Stefan Raab's nose. The next day, a bunch of zombies stood freezing on the train platform, waiting for the train with their Echos in their hands. Or not, in our case. Then two years later, we got the award. We stood there on stage like six bumps on a log and didn't know what to say. Under no circumstances did we want to toss out an embarrassing litany of thank yous. When it was my turn at the mic, I just talked about my vacation in Sri Lanka - I'd just gotten back two days earlier and was still overflowing with impressions. Plus, while the boring ceremony was going on, Ben Becker had been teaching us that drinking vodka mixed with tonic water was very refreshing. The trophy they handed us was I guess supposed to represent a sound wave - I mean, I don't know what an echo looks like, technically speaking - and it was pretty heavy. It was an unwieldy thing to have to hold onto at the party afterward, so I just left it sitting around somewhere.
Bonus material: 1) 1997, Rammstein getting gold for Herzeleid and Engel. Unknown photographer. Some of the band members, including Oliver, had interesting choices of shoes. 2) 1998 MTV Europe Music Awards. Another interesting choice of clothing for Oliver. 3) 2001 MTV Europe Music Awards. Can't go wrong when you're all wearing stage costumes! Photo by Anthony Harvey. 4) 2001 Mexico City. Very questionable positioning of Paul in this photo by Guillermo Ogam. 5) 2005 Echo Awards. I really love how they showed up and performed in fat suits. Photo by Sean Gallup. 6) 2005 Rammstein Music Awards, I love Oliver's outfit here, too. Unknown photographer. 7) 2009 Echo Awards. Oliver went fully casual, and Schneider showed his total lack of taste in shoes. Unknown photographer.
