Wait Jaiden suggested the theory that the reason Cucurucho acted so different yesterday was because it might have done something bad so the Federation reset him. So what if Cucurucho by giving Jaiden the dungeon led them to a place which federation had closed down or lost access to cause it holds potential secrets that will help the residents leave the island or atleast understand it in a better manner. By unfreezing whatever is in there Cucurucho helped the code gain greater access to the island which explains the quests today. That's why it was taken away by the Federation and was reset in order to gain access back to it.

Alright, I'm going to attempt to hopefully clear up a few misconceptions and assuage some worries about this Disco Elysium sequel and the general situation at za/um right now.
I see the shitshow that is unfolding on social media, and as someone who has known about this whole disaster for over half a year now I'd like to weigh in on it and provide some context for everyone who may not know the full story.
First off, Robert Kurvitz was fired at the end of last year. December 2021. As is strongly implied on Martin Luiga's twitter, the reason for this is greed (calling them "money men" and "crooks" and other similar statements for like, months now), and the executive producers, Tõnis Haavel (who has previously been tried for fraud) and Kaur Kender (who has previously been tried for... other things.) screwed everyone over. Kender provided funding for the game, as the majority of the original za/um cultural association did not have the financial means to.
The original za/um cultural association consisted of Robert Kurvitz, Jüri Saks, Martin Luiga, and Aleksander Rostov, originally founded in in 2009. The group, along with Argo Tuulik, played many different ttrpg campaigns over the years, several of them set in Revachol (centred around Precinct 41), and slowly built the world up from there. Kurvitz released the book The Sacred and Terrible Air, set 20 years after Disco Elysium, back in 2013* but the novel flopped, and it was decided that they would make a video game. Rostov has always been more than just an artist for Disco Elysium, as you can see from the dev threads he frequently updated promoting the game, as well as on his personal instagram, tumblr sketch blog, and several other accounts he used while the game was first gaining traction.

I say this because some of the staff at za/um are now accusing fans of being unable to overcome the "auteur theory" of it all (ie. seeing Kurvitz as the singular creative mind behind it all) but the fact is that they have now lost not only the original ttrpg campaign's game master, The Sacred and Terrible Air's author, and Disco Elysium's lead writer/director (Kurvitz) but also their lead writer for the Final Cut's political vision quests (Hindpere) as well as their "co-founder" and art director/designer (Rostov). They are all CREATIVE LEADS, and not just well known only for their reputations/titles.
Luiga himself (who originally broke the news) was an Elysium world builder and provided much of the pale and innocence-related lore. He was also a part of the original tabletop campaigns (Chester McLaine is his player character!), but left midway through Disco Elysium's development due to creative differences (or as he says, "bad vibes" at the company). He is credited as an editor, but claims to have written a good chunk of the text in the game, including much of Joyce's dialogue about the pale. I have seen people discredit him due to his early departure, but Rostov also tweeted out confirming that he, along with Hindpere and Kurvitz were no longer at the company, with no additional comments. Rostov also posted a drawing on his twitter several months back depicting a man jerking off over an NDA, so take that as you will.
So what does this mean for the future?
Luiga has said that he has hope for the sequel, which could either mean that the script was finished or nearing completion before Kurvitz was fired (likely, and fits a pattern in the industry) and it's just a matter of finishing the actual game development aspect, or it may be that he has hope for the original za/um creatives to be able to re-acquire the IP.
I think it's worth pointing out that the original pitch for "Disco Elysium" was actually "The Return", and Disco Elysium was meant to be the smaller-scale prequel to introduce players to the world. Considering that the team was planning on this sequel all along, I think it's possible that a large amount of the "original" game was written years ago, so it's not all that far fetched to believe that the basic outline may be finished, or even that a large portion of the script already exists. Keep in mind that there are a large number of writers for both Disco Elysium and The Final Cut, and it may still be possible to work with a base that the others provided. We have no idea how far into development the sequel may be. Of course, proceeding without three key members of the original team is kind of a kick in the balls, and imo really quite disgusting, especially with how long the company has been keeping their departures secret (dishonesty is not a good look lmao), but it may still be canon, true to the authors' vision, and genuinely a good game in the end.
Argo Tuulik, original Elysium world builder and part of the old ttrpg campaigns, as well as a main writer on Disco Elysium, is still working at za/um. Justin Keenan, former writer on The Final Cut who wrote the political vision quests alongside Helen Hindpere, still works at za/um (and has been promoted to lead writer, according to his LinkedIn), as does Kaspar Tamsalu, who painted several character portraits, (René and Gaston) and worked as a concept artist on the original game. Plenty of the original creatives still remain. The sequel could very well still be in good hands at the development level, even if the higher ups are "crooked".
So, in conclusion... If this game comes out and they still haven't worked things out with Kurvitz, Rostov and Hindpere? Honestly... fuckin' pirate it. But it is very likely it could still be a great game that plays out as it was meant to! All that being said, FUCK za/um as a company, don't support them through Atelier or their merch store. I wish everyone luck if they do attempt to get the IP back, and I sincerely hope this fan pressure will help get things moving for them.

So I don’t really care that much about song meaning,but I read some pjms and armys theories and I don’t really understand why dome of them are so against LC being about sex. I am not saying the song is only about that, LC is deep, it’s about escapism etc but when all back up dancer and doing very explicjt sexual moves I think it’s safe to say the meaning it’s connected to carnal please too

- jimin confirmed on release day that he was inspired by Like Crazy (2011) and never missed any chance to mention this film during promos. so what was he trying to correlate? bear with me ✋
Sex and Alcohol are interchangeable coping mechanisms. both jacob + anna cope with pain of separation by carelessly drinking and having sex. in fact jacob's sex scenes also hold interesting symbolisms regarding intimacy. let's move to anna: she's toxic in wanting to get back with jacob despite being apart for so long. this is reminiscent to how the girl pulls jimin into the dream club and meets him midway the mv. as jm said in the spotify intvw, he's showing how "one loses themselves after a loved one in a Dream". what does it imply? he's yearning for something meaningful to feel complete yet it's unattainable, nor can he stay healthy post loss in Face-Off hence confrontation in the bathroom mirror cuz he's the problem. (the next track 'Alone' is where he accepts his mistake of not properly dealing w/ his complex emotions beforehand.)
the anima theory (which armys/jikookers poorly mutated into a gender crisis) is Jung's belief that man projects his inner desires on his wife/lover. this phenomenon is criticism by psychologists on emotionally stunted man-childs!!? so not only do theories which refuse to address the clear romantic/sexual imagery just plain disingenious but disrespecting jm as well.
he is a hopeless romantic but he referenced a movie about withering relationships here, and how sex is not necessarily love (jacob realizing his sexual compatibility with sam cannot help him move on from anna with whom his attachment is sincere)
i'm not peaking into jm's personal life but im not denying the song's adult concept either. he didnt need to dance such sensual choreo nor refrain teens during the fancall from watching the dance (the backup dancers were having full blown sex) but he did! for he had a story to tell! remember when jm, during encore, said he'll do a modest version of a dance step to pacify jealous fans, it wasnt the group hug intro but the mirror step, which he did with a male dancer instead on stage. jm and karmys had a mutual understanding of what that move signified, and why 1 female dancer was specifically chosen for it in the first place. jm was rightfully teasing them about the whole dance and not just because girls were in it.

There's nothing wrong with thinking it's about sex, but there's also nothing wrong with thinking it's not about sex. I mean, Jimin never explicitly said "it's not about sex" or otherwise, but at some point he did use a bed as prop with people all around (over) him. There's also the fact that men embrace him in the original choreo but he didn't think that was appropriate for music shows which would be aired on Korean tv. He also said he wanted the song to have an "ambiguous" feel and honestly, he got that concept very well executed. The song feels like a lot of things at once.
I agree with many points of the second ask, and I think you'd find I said similar stuff when I talked about my own interpretation.
The only thing I disagree with is the last part because it feels -to me- kinda deranged to see something sexual in the mirroring part because there's nothing like that going on. I think Jimin was just joking with the fans, and it was all banter, and that's the easiest part of the choreo to rearrange for fun. I really don't see anything sexual in that part of the choreo.
I don't think I have much more to add at least for now. I re-read my posts and I still feel the same way about the song.

could you give me a rundown on what being gender critical is? i get the basics i think but if you don’t mind explaining your views?
oh boy anon i’ll sure try!! idk if im the best person to talk about it tbh and ive confused a lot of people trying to explain my views before ahfjkfh but ill try REALLY hard to keep my adhd ass in check lmfao. if theres anything i said thats confusing & you need cleared up feel free to @ me againi dont know how long gender critical has existed as a concept, but i wouldnt be surprised if it was developed as a reaction to a certain VERY vocal part of the trans movement/trans rights activists
(so when you talk to people (trans ppl) about gender i think people usually break it down into several a few categories: gender identity, gender roles, and gender expression. i think most trans people are aware of & separate their sex from their gender identity, the identity being something innately part of every person, the roles generally speaking the bullshit that society expects & should be rejected, and gender expression really just being the traditional “feminine” or “masculine” behaviors/dress you use regardless of your innate identity.in trans circles/lgbt (merch, lol) sites i’ve seen the phrase passed around “gender is a social construct.” i think trans people who do/used to say that meant it kind of like that since gender was created by societies so it doesn’t matter how you identify/why not expand the understanding of gender (ergo, non-binary genders getting popularized). i think this fell out of popularity because it was transppls attempt to validate ourselves and conservatives cant wrap their mind around social constructs are/the distinction between sex and gender and so it wasnt really working out lmfaobut now there’s been some scientific studies getting popularized that have Suggested the existences of male & female brains and that trans ppl have the brain of their identified gender, therefore the disconnect between their brain and their body manifests as gender dysphoria. (i think the transmed community has especially taken to this idea esp because of kalvin garrah discovering these studies & now kind of preaching them as facts & science. with this comes him, his friends, and all the transmed ppl who stan him ryan and london saying that Gender Isnt Socially Constructed)then theres the posts circling around here saying Transwomen Are Women/Real Women + when the women’s march happened in america after trump got elected, i saw quite a few things on facebook where ppl were saying that all the talk of vaginas and shit were transphobic and trans-exclusionary and they should keep in mind that not all women have vaginas, etc etcthen u have what i believe (or at least hope) are outliers in the trans community being dug up (usually transwomen) who say........ The Most ridiculous shit imo. like saying theyre more of a woman than ciswomen (i’ll use cis strictly to mean not-trans in the context of this post), transwomen claiming theyre having a period, and just in general perpetuating “cotton ceiling” stuff like lesbians just needing to get over their transphobia to be with a pre-op transwoman. (again i would like to reiterate i DO NOT believe this is what the majority of transpeople believe, its just a vocal minority thats gotten attention from receipt blogs IMO.))**sorry that this post is already becoming an essay and if its derailing from the question, but this is what i think gender critical stuff is meant to react toso kind of in opposition to mainstream ideas of what gender is, i think radfems/gender critical people dont really break down gender into the different things like identity, roles and expression. from my understanding, gender was socially constructed based on sex stereotypes. i think we can all agree that stereotypes are Bad, so why should we identify with some set stereotypes?
the gender critical beliefs is that there’s not right or wrong way to be male or female (male and female in this post meaning to strictly refer to biological sex). gender is holding us back by continuing to subscribe to sex stereotypes and is counterproductive to building a society where people are free to express themselves however they like. (a lot of gender critical ppl equate gender identity with personality, and while i think this can sometimes be the case w nondysphoric people & mogai genders, it isn’t always and usually isnt, because as i mentioned before, a lot of ppl know enough to say that gender expression is something independent of gender identity.)as for my personal take on it & how it plays a part of my life (apologies that this is going to get super anecdotal):this all is related to my own transition. since questioning being trans, i fluctuated between different non-binary identities. i didnt think i was Trans Enough to call myself a transmale because i didnt want to kill myself over not having a penis (or even trans enough to call myself trans at all lol), so i thought i needed to stay as being nb. then i realized they/them pronouns did...... nothing for me. the whole time i had she/they/he or they/he in a profile i was always secretly hoping someone would just call me he lol.
but i felt like i was an insult to REAL transmen. it took me a while to realize that i didnt care too much about the specifics, i just needed to do what made me happy. that happiness was being read as male & using he/him pronouns.
but even then id still struggle. id have moments of thinking that i was just copying my best friend (who had a similar nb -> binary transmale path as me), or that i didnt even feel like a boy, that i was STILL faking being trans, that i should feel more of x y & z, that id made a mistake with starting testosterone, etc. reading radfem/gender critical stuff used to trigger the fuck out of me lmfao.i think what i eventually realized for myself and the sentiment other gender critical transppl share is that i was setting up an expectation/standard for myself that was impossible to attain. with mainstream gender theory, a cisman and i share our gender identity, our gender is the same (”cis” as its used to “identifying with your biological sex”). the thing is though, in terms of sex/gender, theres nothing i find that i have comparable to a male. i dont act like a “man” because im not one, im a TRANSman. ive lived most of my life so far as female and being socialized that way has been significant to me. i relate a lot to women and its always felt wrong to me how suddenly because im transitioning it felt to me like i was expected to revoke my right to speak on feminism/womens experiences. way before i discovered gender critical things i was pissed off at people trying to be “allies” to transpeople saying shit like “all men are trash transmen are real men so theyre trash too uwu!” like. fuck that. and fuck you for insinuating i would EVER treat a woman the way that men do.
like i know there are transmen (and just transppl in general, for that matter), who try to overcompensate with misogyny/misogynistic ideas because they think itll help them pass better but fuck
anyway. im proud of being a natal female and being socialized that way. being trans isnt exactly a party but im glad i could get the insight i have into the treatment of women and so forth. and the thing is, this isnt a contradiction to me being trans at all. once i let go of whether or not i was “male enough” of “valid” as a boy, i could once again just focus on the very concrete evidence in my life: i was EXTREMELY dysphoric about my chest. i’ve been on hrt for almost two years now and ive had top surgery. my dysphoria is almost non-existent since ive had surgery. i dont mind & even get excited about all the changes coming from being on testosterone. (dont like that i cant sing like i used to and that i’ll probably end up balding at least by my 50s if my dads head is any indication, but cismen have this problem too so whatever)
also ive never felt quite right when i was calling myself gay (exclusively attracted to men). i share some issues that gay men might, i Can be affected by homophobia because i Do pass as male, but its still not 100% the same experience and i think that distinction is importantmy concerns & how being gender critical is important to me:
me coming out as trans was a process over time. using the usual trans rhetoric, i was having difficulties explaining myself to people. specifically im thinking about my mom. when i said i was uncomfortable with being seen as a girl, she said she was uncomfortable too. she liked dressing more like a boy. some other shit she said too that i dont remember, but my basic takeaway: cispeople, particularly ciswomen, arent necessarily enthusiastically identifying with their correlated gender to their sex, because..... no reasonable person likes gender roles.
and i get worried about people like my mom who might be encouraged to identify as nonbinary just because theyre gender non-conforming. the identity itself wouldnt be much of a problem except that it seems to me like its being pretty normalized for nonbinary people to just kind of....... experiment with medical transitioning to try to achieve some Ideal androgynous form that would be.... Very difficult to achieve. i worry about people not thinking medical transitioning is a big deal and just kind of.... disregarding all the potential health consequences, how powerful testosterone is as a hormone, and so on. with the permanent changes that come people THEN end up experiencing dysphoria and life is.... really pretty difficult for detransitioned women from what i can tell, and a lot of people talk about how theres been a spike of people detransitioning lately.
i think part of the problem is 1. transmed/truscum people harassing & bullying nondysphoric trans-identified people, so they feel the need to medically transition to Prove Themselves and 2. just in general the aforementioned idea that everyone has a gender identity. i think itd be very uncommon for people to “identify” as cis, and so you get this whole mess of people thinking they need an androgynous body to match their androgynous identity......... etc.
bonus: my mom crying on her birthday because she said she didnt think shed be able to ever see me as a guy. “nonbinary, maybe, but you dont act like a boy.” problem solved, i dont act like a guy, i act like a transguy!!
also again, need to reiterate that i cant relate to men. i can never Become Male, not with our current technology. i was not socialized as male and thats okay!! its okay because im just doing what i need to in order to be comfortable with my body and myself. i dont need to worry about my dating pool seeing me as a Real Man because they can see me fully as the transman i am and my relationship with being a natal woman and just, shit like that. ive gotten a lot more comfortable with even being called she when it does happen (by accident by family members). its not a swear word to me and ive let go of a lot of expectations i thought i had to meet with being uncomfortable talking about my female organs and my past as living as a woman etc etc. im not trying to Be anything anymore. im just trying to live as myself
some of my issues with the gender critical community just as a disclaimer:
i have a lot honestly and im not going to be able to name them all off the top of my head
makes sense that it would be, but i think the community is rampant with transphobia in the sense of flattening transpeople to the “transcult” stereotype where they just..... dont seem to think of us as individuals. they think we’re all genderists getting triggered by misgendering & demanding our pronouns. they think all of us are “delusional” about our natal sex. they think we’re all gender conforming. they dont take dysphoria seriously in general, ESPECIALLY males experiencing dysphoria (i get that your feminism doesnt have to be concerned with “men” but come on). misgendering is just disrespectful to me (idgaf about rapists, whatever use whatever pronouns you feel the need for those people.)
just in general some people dont get that trans people can still exist in a post-gender world? and you can still be critical of gender while respecting people’s pronouns? by their very nature i think the transmed, radfem, and especially gender critical communities are attractive to bullies so you have those flocking to it, and thats an issue but... yeah.
this answer has gone on long enough and im really sorry anon im sure you didnt sign up to read a 13 page essay. i just got lost in my thoughts and felt like i had a lot of explaining to do. i think my feelings are both simple and complicated so idk if i even really answered your questions, i hope i did..., ;;

In my last post, I went into detail about how the popular theory of ‘Grimm!Summer’, that Summer Rose was turned into a Grimm Hybrid by Salem and is either being controlled by or even voluntarily working for Salem, might actually be one big red herring by CRWBY.

So, if Summer isn’t Salem’s secret drama-bomb, where is she? Well, ever since Volume 8 ended, I’ve noticed an interesting trend running through RWBY as a whole.
So far, the ‘Part 3’ of each major arc (Volumes 3 and 6 respectively) have introduced a new, mentor-esque character who happens to be VERY important to Ruby’s character. Qrow in Volume 3, and Maria in Volume 6. Not only that, but these characters are also ‘built up’ through references and allusions in the previous two volumes of the arc leading up to their introduction.
Well, guess who got referenced quite a bit over the last couple of volumes?

Across both Volumes 1 and 2, Qrow Branwen is a very mysterious figure. Mentioned and referenced a number of times by various characters, before finally making his first proper appearance in Volume 3.

Now while Maria herself isn’t mentioned in any way during Volumes 4 or 5, the Silver Eyed Warriors that she represents ARE. The warriors with Silver Eyes are these mysterious figures brought up a fair number of times during the two volumes, in turn setting the stage for us to actually MEET another Silver Eyed Warrior in Volume 6.

And wouldn’t you know it, after six volumes with barely a mention, suddenly Volumes 7 and 8 have brought up Summer Rose a number of times. From Qrow talking about her with Ruby near the start of Volume 7, to Salem dropping drama bombs on both Ruby and Yang at the end of Volume 7 and midway through Volume 8, to Ruby and Yang talking about Summer in what might be the show’s angstiest scene yet. Basically, Volumes 7 and 8 have been building up Summer in the same way that Volumes 1 and 2 built up Qrow and Volumes 4 and 5 built up Maria.
Which in turn primes Volume 9 as the volume where we finally meet Summer.
Now, how exactly could this play out?

Well, I think Summer also wound up in the same Void dimension that Team RWBY and co. fell into. Now this might seem a bit of a stretch at first but remember that we know basically NOTHING about what exactly happened when Summer met Salem, beyond that the meeting happened. Likewise, we also know NOTHING about the Void dimension, like how one might enter or leave.
I mentioned in the ‘red herring’ post that the Hound could just as easily be hinting Cinder’s grimmification as to could be to Grimm!Summer. And I’m thinking that Summer’s role in Volume 9 could itself tie back into that. Basically, I’m thinking that Summer has been partially hybridized just like Cinder is.
Summer was captured and experimented on by Salem, but Salem wasn’t able to get the grimm-corruption to fully ‘stick’ so to speak. And in the process of Summer either attempting to escape or getting ‘disposed of’ by Salem, or something else, she would up in the Void dimension. It’s also possible that in the years she’s been stuck there, Summer’s ‘grimplants’ have actually grown to the point where combined with simply being alone for close to ten years have left Summer more than a little loony by the time Ruby and co. meet her.
Imagine we’re two or three episodes into Volume 9. Ruby and co. are still just getting their bearings. Maybe Ruby hasn’t even found everyone yet. Everything is still very creepy, mysterious and unknown.
And then all of a sudden, Ruby encounters or is even attacked by this mysterious, crazed, possibly even feral figure in a ragged, dirty gray cloak. Ruby and whoever else might be with her are able to fight the figure off, but in the process, Ruby manages to spot what is clearly Grimm material under the cloak. Realizing that this thing must be a Grimm, Ruby unleashes a silver eye blast. The figure lets out a pained scream in what is clearly a woman’s voice.
The mysterious assailant stops attacking a falls to the ground. Ruby and co. approach cautiously before the woman raises a clearly human hand.
“Wait… I’m sorry I attacked you,” the woman speaks in a hoarse voice that clearly hasn’t been used in a while.
“I just… never thought I’d see other people again…” the woman stands before pulling down her hood.
Revealing a very familiar face, with silver eyes, a long, wild and unkempt mane of dark-red hair, and a few clear spots of grimm corruption.
And Ruby’s eyes go wide with shock and we end the episode on a single word:
“…Mom?”
(Side note: I can absolutely see Summer not recognizing Ruby at first. Remember that Ruby had to have been only about four or five years old when Summer left and it has been a LONG time. Heck, Summer might take a minute to recognize Yang.)
The thing is, I feel like this scenario fits both Ruby’s character arc and the broader narrative RWBY uses as a whole much better than Summer showing up as a surprise twist villain working for/being controlled by Salem.
RWBY’s approach to how it portrays the parents and mentors of its heroines (aside from the outright villainous ones like Jacques) as some combination of ‘well-intentioned but deeply flawed’. People who may have wanted to do good but went about it in the wrong way and wound up destroying themselves. They are, first and foremost, people.
Introducing Summer as some shocking, enigmatic minion of Salem’s treats her more as some kind of ‘prop’ who might end up becoming an actual character after she’s freed/redeemed. Instead, introducing Summer like this lets her start as an actual character right off the bat.
Also, introducing Summer this way fits RWBY’s trend of ‘de-romanticizing’ and ‘breaking the pedestal’ of the heroes and mentors that our protagonists have spent their lives looking up to. Introducing Summer as an outright villain still presents her as this incredible paragon, just one that’s now become an equally important threat.

Instead, THIS Summer is neither of those things. She’s simply a broken woman half-crazed from isolation, half-feral from cruel experiments who’s been destroyed by the torture she endured and the weight of her heroic convictions there were always far too heavy to shoulder alone.
In other words, everything that RUBY is in danger of becoming if she continues to be consumed by the Hero Complex we’ve been seeing play out over the last few volumes.
This positions Summer to play perfectly into the arc Ruby is likely to be on in Volume 9. Giving Ruby this connection she’s never really known while also showing her that she REALLY needs to rethink a few things. In this way, Summer could not only be filling a similar role to Maria in Volume 6 as a new mentor-figure, but ALSO fills a similar rug-pulling, pedestal-breaking, ‘our heroes aren’t the paragons we thought they were’ role that Ozpin and Qrow filled in Volume 6.
Additionally, introducing Summer in this way as a ‘failed test subject’ actually serves the whole ‘Salem is creating Grimm Hybrids’ plot-thread better than if Summer was introduced as a full-on villain. The ‘villain/Salem’s-minion’ route doesn’t actually reveal doesn’t really give us or the heroines any more information than could already be inferred from encountering the Hound. Instead, meeting Summer in Volume 9 presents the opportunity to build off the Hound reveal in Volume 8 with Summer providing more insight and information on just what Salem is doing. Instead of these reveals being put off until later, Ruby and the others can actually get an up-close look at what Salem has been doing. Hell, Summer might even have gotten an idea at what Salem actually WANTS to do with these Grimm Hybrids and what her broader goals are.
The ‘Part Threes’ of each arc (Volumes 3 and 6) have always delivered MAJOR revelations and lore-dumps. And Summer Rose providing insight into what Salem is actually after would certainly fit the bill.

Incidentally, meeting Summer like this and seeing what Salem has done to her would also give the heroines, and Ruby in particular, a reason to actually WANT to help Cinder and free her from Salem’s control. Even with all that Cinder has done, I can still see Ruby drawing the connection between the Hound, whatever grimplants Summer has and the Grimm-arm she’s seen on Cinder, and decide that NO ONE deserves that fate. Not even Cinder.
Now would this be an easy decision? HELL no. I can definitely imagine Jaune in particular being shocked that Ruby would even consider helping Cinder after all she’s done to them and getting into a heated argument with Ruby over it. An argument that probably wouldn’t get fully resolved before the group fights Cinder again in later volumes.
Finally, this route also gives an opportunity for both the heroines and us to learn more about the nature of Grimm in general through how the experiments have affected Summer. Obviously, Ruby would want to try and help Summer by removing her grimplants with her silver eyes, but it almost certainly wouldn’t be so easy. It could end up being a recurring issue in the volume; Ruby, Yang, Weiss and Blake trying to figure out a way to help Summer.

And funny enough, I actually have a feeling that Weiss is actually going to have a pivotal role to play here. For a while now, I’ve had a feeling that Weiss’s glyph semblance is actually the counterpart to Ruby’s Silver Eyes. A power that originates from the God of Darkness just as the Silver Eyes seem to have come from the God of Light. Namely, the fact that Weiss and other Schnees can summon Grimm is a pretty good indicator. If Volume 9 sees Weiss start to realize that her semblance is actually tied very closely to the true nature of the Grimm, I think her and Ruby could together be the key to truly undoing Grimm corruption.

Hey! Sorry for keeping everyone waiting, we had a lot of thoughts for the next chapter, a lot of drafts were written, most were trashed, and now we decided on giving you guys this.

“Welcome everyone,” said Hiruzen seated in the center seat of the council table.
“As everyone knows, our primary focus today will be to discuss repairs for the village districts that had been destroyed during the Kyuubi attack last week. And please do not argue, everyone will have the same amount of work. As expected, we will follow Plan Rebuild, Section C, Phase 2.” said Hiruzen.

Hizashi didn’t listen to much of it. He didn’t need to, he was just there to accompany his elder brother. Nobody was here to ask for his opinion. Hiashi was who they wanted there.
‘Well maybe they didn’t want Hiashi there either, Hiashi wasn’t exactly the most likable person in Konoha.’ thought Hizashi
He was only there because Hiashi’s child was arriving soon. So just in case Hitomi went into early labor like Kushina they would still have someone to carry out rebuilding plans. (because his little Neji-chan wasn’t important at all) And though Hizashi said he wasn’t listening, you would hear the civilians' complaints every few minutes.
‘They just had to bitch about everything, didn't they?’ thought Hizashi to himself

This council meeting seemed to go well enough, normal enough, if you took into account what had happened the previous week.
But then again they also kept on bringing up this, “What will we do about the dead bodies?” It was mentioned so often, honestly, he thought, they said shinobi were heartless but it seemed like they were the heartless ones. They were so comfortable mentioning death, especially deaths of their own loved ones. It made him wonder how they could claim to be people. Civilians made him feel sick.
Barely anyone asked questions about Minato’s death, it surprised him, though he ignored it without much thought, he supposed it was unanimously understood that Minato had died a hero for Konohagakure. Everyone did like the Yondaime..

He didn’t pay attention until Danzo started speaking, midway in sentence-
“-Uzumaki is an infant chosen by us to contain the Kyuubi, it will be the next jinchuuriki”
‘Wait, what? What the hell was Danzo saying?’ thought Hizashi as he started internally screaming and yelling at Danzo. (It’s an ingenious  seal, Kushina’s favorite that she created, lets you yell all you want, cry all you want (particularly useful for the Kushina Bawl), scream all you want, all in your mind, and all people would see was a blank face. Kushina liked to call  it the Blank Faced Asshole Seal, but she still officially listed it as the Blank Face Seal.) ‘What was he doing telling everyone about the jinchuriki? Why wasn’t the Sandiaime doing anything to stop Danzo?! Wasn’t the Jinchuriki an S-class secret?’ thought Hizashi, but with  the Blank Face Seal all people would see was a blank face from Hizashi.
Only con was  that it didn’t stop time, so he often found himself being asked if he was alright. (Kushina said the Time Stop was an easy seal (easy, my ass, thought Hizashi, but then again Kushina was an Uzumaki), but it would “fuck up the entire seal cus it ts’nt useable with the Humanlike Movements for Statues seal, that’s the thing about layered seals Hizashi, you are literally layering each seal on top of each other, and when you do that, sometimes it works, but most of the time, you end up with a burn or some other injury, they work fine on their own but they, say, repel, each other when used together at the same time t’tbane.” as Kushina said.)

“-that is all I have to say” finished Danzo.
And then the civilian council erupted into madness, screams and shouts that the child was a shapeshifter, the kiyuubi in disguise, fooling the Hokage and his besties, (‘if only they could form logical conclusions as fast as they form conspiracy theories’ thought Hizashi as he watched them get dragged out)(of course they didn’t actually call the Hokage advisor’s besties, that was an inside joke Hizashi knew) other people accepted the child was a jinchuuriki and could go rampant at any moment, a lot other hypocrisy and bull went ignored as ANBU had to drag them out the doors for the real council meeting to start.
Once the civilians were all evacuated from the room, privacy seals were activated.

‘Huh,’ thought Hizashi, that was unusual, though not really considering the kyuubi had just destroyed over half of Konoha a week ago. But those were the really old seals, not the normal privacy seals activated during more important than average meetings, that anyone could bypass, (but was anyone going to stop an important source of entertainment?)but the seals activated today were made during the founding days of Konoha, the best Konoha had since they were gifts from the Uzumaki clan. No one made better seals in the Elemental nations now, not even Kushina (and she couldn’t bypass them either).
Now on the thought of seals and Seal Masters, Hizashi couldn’t comprehend how in the world, [like in the whole universe how,] how Jiraiya was a certified Seal Master, Jiraiya wasn’t even certified a Sealing Apprentice of a certified Seal Master!!! Kushina only ever made it to Sealing Apprentice, but Hizashi could assure you, she could be a Seal Master. [if only her mother hadn’t] Jiraiya’s world of sealing was worlds below Kushina’s. It was like comparing the power of the Sage of Six Paths in his prime to a civilian childs weakest low. It was as if the sealing arts were a joke now.

Just then Hizashi checked the clock and realized his ramblings in his brain had taken up a sixth of the meeting, welp, he didn’t care, he’d been through enough briefings  to know that nothing important happens in the first 20 minutes of the Shinobi council meeting most people get up to stretch or use the lavatory.
‘But who could blame them?’ thought Hizashi “they all had to sit in those flimsy plastic fold up chairs, while the Sandaime and his besties sat in better chairs. Honestly, he knew they had to cut budgets because of the toll the war had on them, but seriously? Seriously besties? Couldn’t you give us the same chairs you have, instead of letting us suffer here?’ Hizashi thought, as he walked back to his seat after washing his hands and stretching.

“Thank you for your cooperation and patience, (Hizashi sure as hell wasn’t cooperating anymore, the Hokage had just stood by while Danzo publicly revealed an S-class secret.) Since we have publicly announced the jinchuriki (aw bestie, you shouldn’t have!) new laws are soon to be,” said the Sandaime, with Koharu, Homura, and Danzo seated beside him.
“I’m sorry  to those who will be affected by this as since Naruto Uzumaki is now a jinchuuriki, her life will not be as it was supposed to be.” said the Sandaime
“Anyone who was bestowed guardianship of Naruto Uzumaki under their wing after the death of her parents shall not, now,” said the Third Hokage. As Hizashi listened, his lips forming a frown.
‘Mikoto won’t like that when she hears’ thought Hizashi, and by coincidence, there she was as she stood up, all eyes on her, as she spoke. (He hadn’t seen her for three weeks, she never came by, and the Uchiha never let him into the uchiha Compound.)

Rivahisu antis make me laugh. Sorry for the pettiness, but I got set off to write this last night.
I still can't believe this one clown who told me on other social media that Levi ending up with Gabi and Falco at the end of the story makes more sense than Levi and Historia ending up together. Just because they spoke more in War for Paradis. Ooh, but what interactions did these three have?
List of times Gabi and Falco had any shared connection/ direct interaction with Levi:
The airship in Liberio- this is after HIS SQUAD contributed to Eren's terrorist attack in their recovery mission. They were freaking terrified of him! And he saw them as he captured Zeke and set off a bomb! Not even anything like asking if they were okay after being captured.
The Campfire- Their begging and pleading in desperation for Jean's help wakes him up. He complains about how noisy they are.
The Rumbling- Levi helps Gabi shoot an Okapi Titan. Cute, I guess?
So. I don't know if the subplot changed midway or was retconned or what. I can't even say if my speculations were ever right, which is why I hope the author clears up his intentions sooner or later. But there are many reasons I cannot believe are ignored when it came to arguing for this theory.
List of connections and important interactions Levi and Historia have prior to War for Paradis:
The Ackerman-royal family history
A shared character development arc in Uprising
Shared struggles with pressure to be good and listen to others/be the hero
Childhood abandonment issues. 
“Run or fight”- this was something Historia repeated to Eren in Chapter 130 along with the words of living a life with pride, her former love interest told her. HMM. Very odd to include those very words with these words. Even if you don’t think these two had a romantic connection, he had a strong influence on her.
The Orphanage they set up together after having a rough and tense start when he forced her to be Queen. 
Their interests in the Beast Titan- one for revenge purposes, one for trying to fulfill her role as Queen to protect her people.
And let me do a quick rundown of hints and bits that could have meant something pre-126, the time when the pregnancy actually had focus or mention every other chapter.
In 107: the whole Azumabito mark scene where the two share one panel and then Levi disappears the rest of the scene during a discussion on marriage, children and heritage; Levi and Zeke having some odd dialogue about Gabi and Falco (”worrying about those kids”), the sudden pregnancy reveal.
In 108: the outline of the Hooded Figure which matches exactly to a prior shot of Levi.
In 110: A remark about how Levi was “popular... just enough” with the ladies in a conversation about maintaining loyalty to somebody or something followed by a remark about running out of time (close up shot of his face).
In 112: the darn page everybody overlooks where Levi outright thinks about Historia (why was it necessary to draw that?! Is that normal for men to think of pregnancy women like that they are not involved with?) followed by a look of fear when birthing complications are mentioned after he comes up with a really stupid plan to maintain island security.
Slightly off topic in 113: why does he have an electric surge go through his body when Zeke screams? He never drank wine in the forest. When did that happen? Connects to the banquet theory.
114: The phrase “saved those children” triggers him for no explained reason. 
116: The euthanasia plan which makes no sense on appearance. Maybe it really was that bad, but why show another image of Historia if that wasn’t going to mean anything? Why not just explain the plan? I may have overthought it, but I had an idea based on the Ackerman-Titan turning mystery going on too.
So yeah. Call me insane for even thinking this up, but at least Levi and Historia had potential reasons to be together. They spoke to each other about things that actually developed their characters. 
If Historia really was meant to be with the “farmer” this whole time- let’s be real, the face on this figure changed so much Historia may as well as had the farmer’s kid and married the family chef after the time skip- it would at least make sense to have ONE dialogue with him. Just because Historia may be a side character does not mean that including sudden revelations that she married is good writing. Especially in a subplot where the pregnancy was portrayed as political and a means to save herself.
So that’s my rant for the day. And I leave you with my favorite panel- which I plan to make a post about comparing it to two similar images in the War for Paradis arc.

Be Brave Adachi, or the musical shaping of episodes 1-4
Part 4: Episode 4
This is part of a 4 part series. You may wish to start with part 1, where I introduced the main musical cue we’ll be following and how it represents Adachi questioning the world as he knew it. Or, if you missed part 2, or part 3, you might want to start there.  
If you would like to follow along, please cue up 13:15 in episode 4.*
HOO BOY does everything happen in Episode 4! I swear every time I went back to rewatch to check something I noticed 2 more things that were worth mentioning. Go get your drink of choice, we’re gonna be here a while.
Since we have so much to talk about, and there’s not much new going on, I’m going to gloss over the 1.5 rotations of Questioning that happen right after Adachi gets off the phone with Tsuge. Y’all probably recognize it by now, right? Right. 
The really interesting new stuff in this episode starts after Kurosawa rescues Adachi and Fujisaki, while they’re walking back to the office. Here, for the first time in full since episode 1, we get a repeat of the guitar music that I called Adachi-at-home in the first post in this series. Now, I’m gonna have to make a slight retraction because a) I didn’t know yet that this was gonna be important later, and b) it’s more interesting than I originally thought. So, to add some nuance, this guitar cue is not just Adachi when he’s on his own, fully relaxed, it’s that plus Adachi ruminating on how he doesn’t compare to Kurosawa. In the first case, he’s wishing for just one of Kurosawa’s good qualities. Here, he’s pointing out that they are “fundamentally different” with overtones of I am fundamentally worse than he is. The super interesting thing that I missed the first time around though is that this is the tune of the Home section. Sure it’s in C-sharp major (ish) rather than A major (not exactly a related key, but not an unrelated key either, at least if you ask Brahms^), but the melody is the same enough that I DEFINITELY should have caught that. What can I say, *shrug* pandemic brain.
So, anyways, given what I have since discovered about this guitar cue, I’d like to revise what I think it’s about - it’s about Adachi’s unacknowledged crush on Kurosawa. He still doesn’t realize yet that Kurosawa is something he wants, but moments like these show us just how much he wants it. 
Around 16:15, at the end of Fujisaki’s internal monologue in the elevator, Questioning comes in. This time, though, it’s not about Kurosawa in the slightest. When I was first trying to come up with a point to this series so my Intro to Musicology professor wouldn’t hunt me down for writing a “here’s some stuff” paper, I was all ready to say Kurosawa is the answer and call it a day. But if that’s the case, then why does Questioning start here? Sure, he just found out that Fujisaki knows about Kurosawa’s crush, but the worldview that he’s questioning isn’t that Fujisaki is more observant than he thought. It’s his reaction to her disinterest in relationships. Furthermore, this version of Questioning is far more stable than previous ones - instead of a tritone or other non-chord set of vertically stacked pitches, most of the Question phrases end on unison D, or some version of D + F-sharp (usually in the m6 orientation, rather than M3). Each Question phrase is approximately in time, or at least close enough that we have a sense of when the next will happen, where in the first few versions of Questioning the space between each phrase rotation felt indeterminate. I think what we’re seeing here is that even though Adachi still has questions, his life has already changed. He has a better sense of the people around him, and is less terrified of asking questions.
The Questioning section actually pauses when Kurosawa notices Adachi’s wound, and we don’t head into the next section immediately. In fact, we don’t ever get the next section here - we jump straight to Home, as Adachi starts back in on how much better Kurosawa is than him. It’s in the piano here, I think mostly so that they don’t have to change instrumentation midway through (we’ll see why in a second). This version of Home is the same slow tempo as the guitar version, and it’s very dry. All of the harmony is in block chords, which contributes to a kind of emptiness. But that’s ok because it doesn’t last. 
After a single (musical) sentence, Adachi begins to hear Kurosawa’s own self-loathing through his thoughts. As this happens, the chords that were once in blocks stretch out into arpeggios, filling in the spaces around the melody, in a move that reminds me so much of the way that letting go of a bit of anxiety can feel like unfurling from a tiny space.** Kurosawa’s “I’m sure he finds me annoying” is immediately followed by the addition of a cello line - and I’m about to go do some rewatching looking for where cello is important, but my first impression hypothesis is that cello represents Kurosawa’s inner headspace, particularly after some of the ways I noticed it being used in ep. 7. The cello twines around the piano line that we’re already familiar with, possibly as a metaphor for the way that Adachi and Kurosawa are having similar thoughts. And, as with earlier episodes, we end without a full resolution - we get a cadence, sort of, but the piano continues for a bit and ends with a cluster of notes with G as the main thing that catches our ear. For those unfamiliar, G is not a particularly tonic-feeling note in A major. It’s flat 7, which helps tremendously in feeling like we are NOT in major, better suited to the melancholy nature of the various thoughts flying around here. 
And then. Ok, and THEN. The part I have been writing this entire series to talk about. So, to set the scene, right? Adachi thanks Kurosawa, Kurosawa deflects but gives Adachi a direct, blinding smile, and for once Adachi doesn’t squint. He returns the smile. He has become comfortable here. 
As if that weren’t enough, the music comes in, and yes, we’re back to Questioning, but it is absolutely in time, with two beats of 6/8 between each iteration of the Question Phrase. Furthermore, this version has both guitar and glockenspiel in it - the guitar is Adachi’s home instrument, and here it suggests he’s become comfortable with questioning the world around him, while the glock does more to highlight the difference in the treatment of time. 
We don’t move on from this section for a bit, because Fujisaki interrupts his thoughts. We do, however, get hints of the next section - a rising line in the piano timed in the same way as the next section will start, for example. The underpinnings of the Questioning section provide a lush background for Adachi’s monologue on visiting Fujisaki’s mother, something the first version of Questioning could not have done. Adachi is being very brave here, and the changes to our favorite cue are a reflection of that. 
As he finishes we head in to the section of the piece, which is mostly accompanying shots of Fujisaki being overwhelmed, Adachi being worried that his attempt to be brave has gone wrong, and not much happening. There’s a weird loop in the middle, which makes me think that they tried it with the whole track and it felt waaaay too long without anything happening. 
Anyway, after she reassures him that his bravery is appreciated, we head into the Answer section. Adachi and Fujisaki’s chitchat isn’t what’s important here. The important thing is we have the Answer section, and here it is fully scored, electric guitar and bass, percussion, the works. Not only that, but the cue ends, and it ENDS ON THE TONIC. We did it folks! We found the resolution! And it turns out, the way to get there was to BE BRAVE.
This may not be the end of the whole series, but this is AN ending. This is the pan-out that we get at the end of every 90s Hollywood teen romcom. Adachi has Learned Something with capital letters, and it’s not that he loves Kurosawa or even that he needs to give up his low self-esteem. It’s that he can be brave, and he can contribute. It’s hard, and it may take four episodes of building to it, but he can do it.
Which is a lesson he’s really gonna need for the beginning of 5. But that’s a story for another time.

I should be asleep rn but I saw a video on YouTube featuring the logo for Delta Airlines, which is a red triangle, and it reminded me of petscop. Like, delta in math is symbolized by a triangle and represents a change in a variable (like how slope is delta y over delta x). And Care/Paul is associated with triangles. Maybe there’s something there? idk. Both Paul and Delta Airlines being associated with red triangles specifically is prob a coincidence tho, lol
1. i think the delta symbol being a triangle is actually a really compelling theory as to why that specific symbol was chosen??! i never thought of that...and i dotn know much about the implications bcos i know nothing about the delta in math but i will look at it more in detail and post my thoughts if i find anything interesting, if it represents change that is a very compelling line of thought. thank you delta airlines thats very interesting. and thank YOU for noticing that thats probably honestly a better theory than my "it jsut so happens to be a three sided shape" theory
2. you sent this ask just in time for me to have a little more information about the red triangle! 🔺 for those who might be unfamiliar, care anna and marvin are all characters that have existed for around a decade, as they originally appeared in a much older, much less subtle and much less hopeful piece of writing by the guy who made pscop. i dont reccomend seeking it out, the author no longer stands by it afaik and it was personally too triggering for me to read last time i tried so i only know this from a friends experience (thx pall✨🎶), but curiously the red triangle appears in that work as well! i wont go into detail about it because i havent read it firsthand, but the significance that was relayed to me is that it was represented as a "midway point" in that story, which brings up a whole new slew of questions about the author's intentions. but its interesting to know that care has been associated with that red triangle for an insanely long amount of time. super neat and its a lot to think about

sasha reads thru statements and is a skeptic! she really does not believe it’s real until jane comes along.

sasha starts to manifest her powers a little bit. she doesn’t know it, but she is an avatar of the stranger, and a prisoner of the eye.
she starts to notice more things about jon? similar to this comic but with jon
eventually she + tim + martin help get jon out of the grip of the NotJon. this is my au and i get to choose who dies (it’s no one because i miss the s1 archival assistants too much).

sasha learns abt an upcoming web ritual (mirroring the unknowing), all that shit. gets kidnapped a ton of times, as usual.
helen is like “i am going to kill you because i hate gertrude <3 i was that dumb bitch’s assistant for too long” but michael busts out of the door like Hi Guys and traps her in the hallway.
sasha also gives her statement about a leitner she found as a child that marked her. its a stranger book and we learn her edgy orphan origin story how her parents were both murked by the stranger. fucked up if true!
back at the archives jon is like so fucking tired of this shit honestly and now martin is also pretty paranoid. also jm romance subplot is still very present!
tim is just trying to protect sasha at all times and he’s pissed she keeps leaving the country and getting fucking kidnapped
(remember when jon persuades the traffic cop?) sasha starts to fill her archivist role in a different way. she can shapeshift into the subject of a statement and uses her affiliation with the eye to coerce statements or info out of people. (example: if she needed a live statement from the guy in #90 Body Builder, she could temporarily make herself look like jared hopworth to the guy and ask “what happened to me?” or “what did i do?” and the guy would be like well he built some fucken bodies i guess let me tell you all about it) while reading the statements in america that refuel her, she fully shapeshifts into the statement giver while reading out loud.
once again i truly can’t remember daisy + basira’s roles until the end of the season. also melanie get shot by the ghost at some point
anyways sasha gets kidnapped by trevor and julia and they gerry lays out all the shit for her and she’s like ah! i’m fucked
tim offhand mentions the web ritual to martin and he loses his shit cause he’s marked by the web blah blah this isn’t a web!martin thing i swear i just need someone to fill tim’s role in the ritual and a lonely ritual would be fucking boring as hell as we learned from ass man peter lukas. i hate that man
so they make the plan to stop the web ritual (which is fucking hard when the offense knows your every move) so sasha, basira, daisy, jon, and martin go.
tim stays back at the institute to burn shit and distract elias. elias does some fucked up shit as usual and it makes me sad
the ritual starts! they have a plan to blow it up and run but like. u know how it goes
instead of the unknowing-stranger-dream-sequence, we get everyone kinda mixed up in a huge spider’s web on the big stage and its still quite confusing because this ritual not only manipulates the prey, but also the prey’s perceived reality. the web is also in current control of the buried coffin cause they think that shit is kinda fun. they yeet daisy into it.
hard to describe what happens, but basira keeps her cool, jon is a bit lost in his own mind, sasha tries to use her powers to escape but fails. she manages to get through to martin through the strings and mounds of spiders and she tosses him the detonator.

martin doesn't die, i told you i can't kill the og archival assistants! he does lose most of one leg though, he took the blunt of the explosion.

(and because coma jon has such wild hair controversy, i’m establishing that her head was shaved when she was in the coma. it grows back thru s4. it she keeps one side shaved cause she’s cool)
meanwhile tim is recruited by that dumbass man you know who i don’t even wanna say his stupid fucking name
sasha gets daisy out of the buried. they become avatar pals!
(there is the biggest blank in my memory where all of season four should be. at this point i should just relisten to the entire fucking show but i would literally just forget it all again)
melanie says hm. fuck this! and blinds herself. she goes to live with georgie (and that’s the moment jon and sasha realize they are both georgie’s exes FHFHDJD)
tim continues to fight the lonely pull. he thinks that since p*ter l*kas is tied to the institute, he can blind himself out cause melanie was successful. he is wrong. he is also interrupted by elias midway, and only blinds one eye, and loses most of his sight in the other. elias’s hold on him is weak, but this just drives him way farther into the lonely.
gotta be honest i remember the end of season four but like i couldn’t visualize what was happening at the end so i like don’t understand what happened JGDKFJGD but sasha intervenes (???) and peter yeets tim into the lonely (???) and sasha jumps in (??????) after him. elias is just there i guess?
instead of “look at me martin,” sasha finds tim and at this point her form is warped and hard to recognize because of stranger powers, and tim is almost 100% blind, so she says “don’t look at me, see me. see me tim, it’s me.” and finally creates a clear image of herself. “it’s...it’s you. you’re my sasha.”
they break free and go to scotland i guess KHSDDKDSF

Stuck at home? Running out of stuff to read? I figured I’d put together a semi-comprehensive series of fanfic recommendations so that all the hours I’ve spent on AO3 over the years can be considered at least vaguely useful. A lot of these are quite old, so if you’ve only read more recent fics, you might find something that you haven’t seen here!
Please feel free to add your own links and recommendations--I personally would love more reading material! This list will focus on SU fics, but I’ll probably make more for other fandoms going forward if anyone’s interested. Bear in mind that, as I’ve mentioned, since many (most) of these were written a while ago, they might not represent exactly how the plot of the show progressed (though they now provide a pretty interesting look at the older fanfic tropes/theories!)
Also, upfront: most of these, when ships do appear, are Lapidot or PearlRose--clearly, I’m very narrowly-focused on what I read. And if one of your fics is on here and you want to be tagged, let me know and I will do so!

"Your name is Lapis Lazuli. Lapis is a fun thing to name your child when your last name is Lazuli, and when your name is Lapis Lazuli, blue seem like a nice color to dye your hair. It's fortunate that blue is your favorite color, that you manage not to despise it after all the blue you've been surrounded by all your life."
Lapis Lazuli meets a strange young boy who helps to heal the scars of her past.
The first time I read this fic, I stayed up until 5AM and cried into my pillow through the final chapters. And it continued to make me cry every time I reread it. Massive angst warning, but if you can handle fics that are beautiful but tragic, this is for you.
capacity by broken_halleluiah (G, F/F)
After a routine council meeting, Pink Diamond insists on repairing a broken piece of equipment. The result is far more than she bargained for.
A fic speculating on the nature of Pearls in Homeworld society, written well before we got to see any of that in canon. As such, it isn’t entirely in-line with later canon, but is still entirely worth reading.
Breaking Down by PTlikesTea (M, multi)
Rose's world view is shattered by a black market pearl and the realization that everything she knows about them is wrong.
An extensively long series of shorter mostly-self-contained stories exploring a version of Homeworld society where Pearls are considered as little more than disposable property. Major warnings for Pretty Much Everything--definitely keep an eye on the tags--but this is an iconic series of works, started in 2015 and predating many of the later revelations about canon Homeworld. 
A Gem and Her Pearl (Rose) by Potential Violet (G, gen)
Blue Diamond forces Rose Quartz to get a pearl, changing Rose's life, the pearl's life and the course of Gem history. All relationships begin somewhere, this is the beginning of Rose and Pearl's.
Another take on Rose and Pearl’s meeting, and the status of Pearls in Homeworld society (there’s a bit of a theme here with these recommendations). Again, predates most canon revelations regarding the topics, and predates all of the canon information about the Diamonds.
Pearl, Interrupted by AceyEnn (E, multi)
In August, Steven Quartz Universe was born.
In August, Rose Quartz died in childbirth.
In December, Pearl decides she can't handle any of it.
Or: Pearl Tries To Kill Herself And Ends Up In A Therapy Group Run By Her Best Friend's Mom (Well, One Of Her Moms).
Human AU focusing on Pearl dealing with Rose's death--or rather, not dealing with Rose’s death. Major content warnings for suicide attempts, self-harm, etc (please read the tags), but overall a very well-written story. Still updating, despite being first posted in 2016!

Peridot meets the new waiter at her regular restaurant and immediately falls head-first in love. 
Cute and fluffy, what more do you need in a fic? 
Homesick by DrPaine (G, F/F)
An encounter at the Galaxy Warp.
Short oneshot predating the Peridemption/Barn Arc, can be read as friendship rather than romantic. 
Observation by DrPaine (G, F/F)
Peridot is a technician, meant to catch every detail. Not something she’s very fond of, but making yourself aware of your surroundings can be helpful, when you’re slipping into troublesome thoughts.
Incomplete but very much an introspective look at Peri’s character as perceived back in 2015-ish. Not as much focused on romance as on concepts of identity and anxiety. 
Of Stage Lights and Stage Fright by AcrylicPaint (M, F/F)
All Lapis wanted was to participate in the local production, but there was a minor element she hadn't taken into consideration when she agreed to take the leading role, and that was; dealing with the cute techie's constant staring.
That, and the fact she was beginning to stare too.
Human theatre AU, and an excellent completed multichapter fic. I remember that when I first read this, I was in high school and part of the musical, so it was a very topical read--and now it’s the height of nostalgia. 
No Regrets by Raptor_Red (E, F/F)
No Regrets, or, the story of how Peridot tried to romance the blue-haired tattoo artist from the parlor across the street
A personal favorite! The writing in this fic is just so nice to read, and though I’m not usually a fan of tattoo artist AUs, this one really managed to make the whole concept make sense within the story. I can’t count how many times I’ve read this fic. Please read this.
12 O’Clock at Your Local King Soopers by InsomniacArrest (T, F/F)
Lapis works late night shifts, Peridot is somebody's overworked assistant, they both need more sleep and better people skills: the grocery store story.
Is it a Lapidot fic rec list if I don’t include 12KS? Probably the most iconic fic for this pairing, with good reason. Also, consider this a recommendation for literally everything IA has ever written--there are too many good fics to name them all individually, otherwise they’d comprise half of this entire list.
Of Meteors and Minimal Speech by Waypaststrange (moonbeatblues)(F/F)
In which things at the barn settle down, nobody speaks much, and strange lights appear in the sky.
Vaguely fluffy oneshot, very cute!!
Awkward Office Encounters by SilverEyedRukia (T, F/F) 
Due to a broken down air conditioner on a scorching hot day the computers' overheated systems need fixing. Luckily for everyone a blonde technician is up for the job, but unbeknowst to them the IT nerd turns out to be someone they didn't expect her to be, especially not Lapis who kind of asked her out on a date already.
Human workplace AU, starts off relatively comedic but gets into Emotional Territory towards the end.
Camp Pining Hearts by kamanzi (M, F/F)
Peridot and Jasper return to summer camp after their freshmen year of college--this time, as counselors. Peridot is disappointed to learn that nothing is quite the same, especially her relationship with her best friend. Whose fault is this? She blames Jasper's girlfriend.
“‘Let’s go back next year and be counselors,’ she said. ‘It’ll be fun,’ she said.”
Human summer camp counselors AU that’s definitely long enough to use up some stuck-at-home-self-isolating time.
A Week by teamchaosprez  (E, F/F)
Who knew that a single night of drunken sex could push Peridot and Lapis from being roommates with a mutual crush to regularly fucking and maybe - just maybe - eventually becoming girlfriends and standing up to the homophobia surrounding both of their family lives.
A human college AU focusing a lot on working through interpersonal relationships and coming to terms with emotions
Set Me Free by cym70 (T, F/F) 
Being roommates gives Lapis and Peridot a lot of time to get to know each other and, despite their rocky history, they might just be able to make something entirely new.
A friends-to-lovers fic, post-Barn Mates. Very sweet!
Waltz of the Nian by QuickYoke (T, F/F)
Lapis doesn't understand fusion at heart, but she does know she's an unideal partner for it.
 Lapis' relationship with fusion, and also Peridot. A fic that basically encapsulates the ideal of profound prose that makes you feel��things, even if you don’t precisely know how or why.
Pushing by Like Hearts by mautadite (T, F/F)
“Sounds like you’re really counting on that road trip magic.”
(Peridot and Lapis do Midway City, and Empire City, and Plateau Ville, and all the places in between.)
Canonverse road trip, because every rec list needs a “the characters go on a long journey together and find themselves, and each other” fic. And because this fic made me feel so many emotions.
A thousand years (F/F)
I have died a thousand years, waiting for you.
 Childhood friends-to-adult-lovers human AU, one of the fic tropes that always just punches me in the face with feelings.

That edition of bunshun that came out this March has been proved to be 100% correct (from the timing, to the decision itself, to what he said) so it's not like there's much more left to say, just pieces to scrap all together. And this is my theory. The points bunshun made with that article have been: 1. Ryo wanted not to quit alone at first but to get everyone to quit KANJANI, the reason being the group not being able to keep up the usual the standards after what happened with Subaru and Yasu's situation; 2. Some members agreed on going hiatus, none of them on leaving; 3. Since that decision Ryo has been in bad blood with both Yoko and Hina, to the point of Yoko saying 'I can't work with that jerk anymore!' 4. The final decision has been made in March From now on it's just a matter of fixing our timeline using the infos we do know. 1. Subaru leaves, Ryo is the first one to regroup the members and decides to take the lead. He's still on board with having a six members group: plans an entire concert with six people in mind and even creates an extra for a single release. No problems in sight, tour still has to start. 2. Tour preparation is over and tour begins, we're around mid-September if I don't remember wrong. Ryo is is still on board with the band, does the majority of opening speeches, seems to have no problems to cover for Subaru simply by splitting his lines between himself/Yasu/Maru. Tour is at the beginning. 3. Around December/January (I suppose, since KJ8 clearly stated they had around 5/6 meetings about the issues and I like to think the split them in two months, at best) Ryo announces his decision to leave, to be official then in March. Six months have passed, so what could've changed? Directing that concert, that's what has changed. Many fans, and even Kanjani, talked about how both KJ8 and Ryo had different opinions about the direction the band should've taken, with basically KJ8 being 'yes' and Ryo being 'no'. None of them, however, even bothered to mention the reasons behind this point of views. If Yasu was fine and KJ8 had found a way to replace Subaru (as we saw them during during GR8EST) then why Ryo felt the need to split them up? Mind you that at first he didn't say he wanted to leave as a member, but that he wanted them to leave as a group, as a whole, while also keeping their positions in the agency. My best guess is that, while directing and organizing GR8EST he realized the limitations the group had to face due Yasu's condition and the astounding amount of stress they were putting on him. That's why the decision came midway the live and not before; that's why he proposed the group to quit all together, that's why (but I'll explain this later) he didn't even leave a note when he left. He realized KJ8 had nowhere to go without putting Yasu at risk and probably told the others 'well, that's it. We've already reached our peak, now let's quit before doing any disasters'.
And from this point on, hell got loose. According to the article both Hina and Yoko had ATROCIOUS fights with Ryo, with the two of them probably being in favor of keeping the band as it was and Ryo instead suggesting for them all to disband before it were too late. The fights kept going on and you could almost, barely taste them even during the varieties: during the whole year Ryo and Yoko almost never interacted with each other except when asked to; the last Telehone Game happened in January (back when he told them all his decision), after that no more. None of the two factions reached a compromise and so, by the end of march, Ryo announced his decision: not in order to go solo but to not betray his principles and part of the promise he made to Subaru. A band that keeps moving forward while sitting on the back of an ill guitarist should not exist. By the time Ryo left in September, KJ8 went once again against his suggestion of taking things slowly, and decided instead to start a 47 tour so improvised and desperate they didn't even have the venues booked per time. Ryo took this last blow and left without even a note or a sign of life on his jweb. This, in my opinion, also explain how does it come both KJ8 and Ryo gave almost no explanations or kept things vague at best: for KJ8 it would mean to admit they're trying to carry on while also overworking a man that is in deep pain; and for Ryo would admit spitting on the whole group. So, no press conference for them all together, really vague interviews to the point even Jin (Akanishi on twitter) pointed out how pointless they were and Ryo being out of the door in one day and with almost zero explanations. Honestly this seems to be the most reasonable explanation to me.

Point is... members proposed to go hiatus. If you manage to get your hands on previous ANN episodes you'll hear Ohkura talking about how in the past, some members proposed to stop activities for a while. Some of them agreed, Ohkura included, some others did not. Ryo was certainly in favor. One of the first Boku, actually, had Yasu talking about concert preparations for GR8EST, how at some point he told to the members, crying, that he didn't feel like he was up for this tour, that he didn't want to take any part on it. Again, some members agreed on stopping this carousel, Yoko and Hina did not. Tour was made. So, it's not like Yasu's opinion held really any value in this particular stance: deciding whether to put a group on a stop is a decision that the band as a whole should made. Ryo tried to get them to this point, considering Yasu's health, two of them were deaf apparently and decided to carry on, hence Ryo had enough and left. It's really simple as that. Because, let's be honest here, Yasu is not fine, will never be fine. Don't let J&A fool you, they're going to work this horse to the death. It's been two years since the surgery and he still does experience both phono and photophobia. Can't sit on an hard chair without a cushion. Had to drop scuba-diving. The network has been forced to change a lot of Chronicle segments simply because Yasu wasn't up to the task anymore: no more long walks for the 'looks like this/is like that' segment, no more Dodge Game, no more Ikemen Camera. They put, instead, segments where he can sit and talk, like the cuisine one or the manga panel or the one with guests talking around a table. All those moments you've seen during concerts, the so called 'Yasuda Moments' are simply speech impediments, him forgetting words, confusing similar sounds. 'Post surgeries moments' that still affects him and probably will never entirely leave. All of this would pose no treat for your average office worker that is back to work after a year of rehab. But for a machine that is programmed to jump, to sing, to run, to play, to move from one location to the other, months after months, your doc's definition of 'fine' holds no meaning. Yasu knows that, Ryo knew that, Yoko and Hina knew that, the youngest ones knew that as well.

We're one year post surgery and three months after personal hiatus when this happened. The man that according to KJ8 and the agency is 'fine' has even trouble to carry the weight of his own guitar. Has to move, take a deep breath and relax shoulders in order to dissipate the pain. Ryo's eyes, trained on him, notice all of this and take a mental note to tell others to slow a bit. KJ8's response, the day after he leaves, is a simple 'fuck it, we going touring again you asshole'

A/N:I dont know if this angsty, but its inspired by BTS- Heartbeat and Joe Jonas - Gotta Find You. 💜
To me Heartbeat is about lovers/group of friends who are separated, living in a different world but always known something is missing, that they are fated to do something else together with each other. So they feel incomplete and empty before meeting one another eventhough they lived a full life (somehow like how bts are before they meet each other, all the farmer and pianist stuff you know?) and after they get together, they achieve something wonderful, (which is the most wonderful group in the world of course 😂) and when something tears them apart, they went all out to search for each other again to feel complete (even if its too late)

"No hyung. I dont know who she is, or what she looks like, or her name  or anything about her. But I know shes here, and when I see her, I'll know hyung,"
"Okay, stop being weird. We are minutes away from starting our show. Can you stop being weird Kookie?" Namjoon sighed. This is not the time to be crazy.
"No hyung, you dont understand. I have always known. When shes sad, or shes happy or shes mad... I know it sounds crazy, but I know, no matter how far apart we are, or how different our worlds are, we are bound to meet and be together, because.." Jungkook smiles. "We are fated to be. Its already written, our fates. Shes my heartbeat hyung, and I'm hers,"
"Okaaayyy... I seriously have no time for crazy right now. Lets go!" Namjoon pulled his hand and ran to the other members to do their motivational circle chant. "Goodluck, lets do our best and lets have fun guys!"
The show went well and Jungkook and Taehyung are playfully running around the stage, waving goodbye to their fans before ending when Jungkook froze, eyes locked with someone in the crowd.
"Hey Kookie? Whats wrong? All okay?" Taehyung whispered, brows furrowed in panic.
"Its her. I found her hyung," Jungkook mumbled.
"Found who?" Taehyung was confused and dumbfounded.
"Her.. my soulmate..,"

Jungkook plays with the necklace hes been wearing for do many years, fiddling the strap as his mind wanders. The noisy background of his hyung playing around while getting ready for their concert in a few hours doesnt bother him at all.
"Hey, you okay?" Jungkook looks at the voice to find Taehyung looking down at him, smiling. "You seem out of it," his eyes didnt miss the way the maknae's hands fiddling with the necklace. "Y/N?"
Jungkook lets out a soft smile.
"Who else hyung? Who else would have occupied my mind like this?"
"What are you thinking about? You can  tell me Kookie," Taehyung take out a chair and sits besides the maknae, smiling. Jungkook sighed.
"It was at a concert exactly like this that I first met her hyung,"
"I know," Taehyung smiles. "I was there remember. I thought you were having a stroke," he laughs, making Jungkook smile too.
"I miss her hyung,"
"I know you do. We all know. And we all do too," Taehyung gives a sad smile. "But you will see her again yeah?"
"Will I?"
"You will Kookie. I promise," Taehyung pats his back. "Afterall, you are soulmates,"

Y/N had the shock of her life when one of the members himself ran after her after the concert is finished. At first, she thought maybe its a fan cosplaying as Jungkook or something and ran after her because she left something. But standing a meter away.. looking straight into his brown doe eyes and bunny grininng smile, Y/N is almost 100 percent sure that its the real Jeon Jungkook.
But when he opens his mouth and breathe out oh so slowly, "Its you," Y/N got confuse again. Is this one of her old long lost friends that she should know?
"Uh.. excuse me?"
"Its you," Jungkook took a step closer and hold her hands which she retracts immediately.
"I-I think you have the wrong person S-sir. I dont know you," Y/N stammered.
"I dont know you either," Jungkook laughs. "But I know its you,"
"Huh?" Y/N was starting to think that he is absolutely crazy.
"I know it doesnt make sense, but.. lets get a coffee with me. Right now. Your choice of place and I'll tell you everything,"
"Errr..." Y/N ponders for a moment. Even if she picks the place, he can still kidnap her or kill her or something right?
"You can pick somewhere where there are a lot of people. And you can even tell your friend that you are going out with me. Here, take my photo and give it to them. Better yet, take my number and my identification photo," Jungkook smiles and place his ID on her palm. "Feel more secure now? I'll give whatever you need, I just want to talk to you. Need to,"
After thinking for a few more moments, Y/N finally agrees after passing all his details to her friend. Of course, not after a 5 minute high pitch shreik she received atter her friend recognized the man as Jeon Jungkook.
"So.. uh.. what do you want to tell me Jungkook-ssi?" Y/N asks as they sit face to face at a crowded coffee shop, Jungkook in a mask.
"Well..." Y/N can hear his smile. "Y/N, you are my soulmate and I have been looking for you since forever,"

"Come on you two. Enough being sad. Its show time," Namjoon stand between them, patting both their backs.
Taehyung winks at Jungkook, giving him the encouragement he needs and get a smile in return.
"I'm not sad hyung!" Jungkook laughs, although he perfectly know he cant hide anything from his hyungs.

Jungkook tighten the scarf around his neck and put his gloved hands inside his coat pocket. The weather is cold but he still insisted to take a walk. Its the perfect time to do so, since all his hyungs are all exhausted after their concert and immediately retreated to their room once they reach their dorm, so no one will interfere or asks him what hes doing or where he is going.
Jungkook walks through the night, pulling the mask that covers his face even closer. He has been warned to always conceal his identity, no matter where he goes. Even just for a short walk in a nearby neighbourhood.
You are an international star, somebody is always watching you, they said.
And looking at every passerby that keeps glancing back everytime they walked past him, the giggles and the whispering, he knows they are right. No matter where he go, people know who he is. People are watching.
This is the life he chose. And he dont mind it.

"But manager-nim, we want to go public. You have to understand," Jungkook flashed his doe eyes to the manager, making him sigh.
"You," he turned to Y/N who is frozen to her chair. "How about you? Do you want to go public?"
"I-I.. uh...,"
"Dont be afraid baby, tell him. I am right here. Always, remember?" Jungkook smile and squeezes her hand for strength.
"W-well," Y/N gave Jungkook a small smile. "If its the best for Jungkook.. and it makes him happy, then yes. I want to go public with him,"
"It wont be good for him!" The manager snapped, making her jumped. "You think I am doing this because I simply want to ruin your life or something? I am doing this for his own g-"
"Good?" Jungkook snickered. "My own good? Manager-nim, we both know its for the company's own good. And since I am not under any dating ban, I am just asking out of courtesy, so no matter what you say, I am going public. I love Y/N, and I want people to know that too," Jungkook slammed the table and drag Y/N out, not looking back.
"Are you sure its a good idea Kookie?" Y/N asked in a small voice as she snuggle closer to him in their bed. "Maybe your manager is right..."
"Hey baby," Jungkook smile and stroke her hair. "Everything is going to be alright. As long as you love me and be by my side, its going to be alright,"
"But-"
"No buts," Jungkook sits up and looks at her. "I told you so many times baby... I have known that I will love you with everything I am even before I met you. And when I see you there at the concert... after so many years.. you think I am going to ever leave you? I love you. And its not just a normal kind love baby, my feelings for you are magical, supernatural, beyond everything anyone could ever imagine," he grins. "And you think I am going to let some manager stops us, you are crazy,"
Y/N's heart soften a bit after listening to him, leaning in closer and hugs him.
"I love you Jeon Jungkook,"
"And I love you L/N Y/N. And I promise you, no matter how far apart we are, or how different our worlds are, I will find you, we are meant to meet and be together, because you are my fate and I am yours baby,"

Jungkook sigh and looks back at Y/N whos lying in bed with tubes and wires all over her as his hyungs all retreat to the van waiting outside the hospital.
Going public isnt a good idea afterall. It started with virtual harresment and then it quickly starts being physical and within just one simple second where they both decide to forget about it and just live their life, Y/N ended up in the hospital.
Jungkook take her hand and rubs it slowly as Y/N stirs and open her eyes, smiling at the sight of him.
"Hey..."
"Hey baby," Jungkook cant help but feel the tears pooling in his eyes. Seeing the love of his life in this condition, all because of him.. everything is too much.
"Why are you crying? I'm fine," Y/N smiles. "Hey, I love you. And you said, no matter what happens, as long as I am besides you, we will be okay right? I am beside you right now Jungkook, although like this..," she lets out a choked laugh.
"How can you even joke right now?" Jungkook frowned.
"Because joking is supposed to make you smile," Y/N smile and reached out to touch his face. "I love you Jungkook, no matter what,"
"I-I have to tell you something," Jungkook takes a deep breath.
"I already know Kookie," Y/N smiles.
"N-no you dont. How can you? Let me say it Y/N,"
"I heard your hyungs and your manager Kookie. You guys are pretty loud. I'm not dead you know," she giggles.
"Y/N, let me explain so you will understand..."
"I understand," Y/N smiles at him but tears are rolling down her face.
"You are not supposed to understand! Im leaving you Y/N. I have to leave you because of my career! My stupid career! You are supposed to scream at me, hate me, hit me!" Jungkook's whole body shakes, angry tears running down his own face. How could they make him do this? Telling the love of his life that they are over, while shes laying in a hospital bed? For the same reason he needs to break up with her?
"But I do understand Kookie. I love you, thats why I understand," she squeezes his hand tight.
"I-I cant do this,"
"You have to Kookie. I wont let you choose me over your dreams. I wont!" Y/N shakes her head as much as she can with her condition.
"B-but you are my dream Y/N," Jungkook starts to sobs. "I didnt know what I was missing until I found you. How can you ask me to let you go?"
"Because I will always be with you Kookie. We might not be together, but you know I'm always with you. In there," she smiles and points to his heart. "In there, I'm always yours and you are always mine. Yeah?"
"I cant do this without you. I was only by myself before, if I didn’t know you baby, maybe I’d have given up. You make me everything I am today!"
"Lies Kookie," Y/N giggles between her tears. "You are already great before you met me and you will be great without me. I promise. Do this for me. Okay?"
Jungkook looks down, shoulders shaking as he sobs, hands squeezing hers tight.
"Hey.. dont be like this," Y/N pouts and slowly reached out for her necklace on the bedside table and place it in his palms. "As long as you have this, know that I am here, waiting for you. Come find me Jungkook. When you are all done, come fine me, and I'll be here, waiting for you,"
Between sobs Jungkook looks at the face that still keeps on smiling at him. Between all their ups and down, never failing to smile at him.
"I will find you. I will come back and get you. I promise," Jungkook swore to her and most of all, to himself.
"I know you will Kookie, you always find me. Because-"
"You are my destiny,"

Jungkook stops at the sight of a huge billboard. A billboard filled with the seven faces, faces of him and his hyungs.
Namjoon was right. He have everything he had ever wanted. But even from the first day, something always felt missing, something always tells him that theres something more for him out there, somethimg is wrong, until he met her.
Now thats shes no longer with him, no matter how successful and fullfilling his life seems to be, it will never be enough.
He looks up again at the billboard, his own smiling face staring right back at him. Is this enough? Is this what hes meant to do for the rest of his life? Even if it meant that he will feel this empty feelings every single day?
He slowly take out his gloved hands from his pockets and fiddle with the necklace again. Clasping the locket tight, Jungkook whisper softly, "I found you princess.., I'm coming to see you..."

"I know its hard Kookie, but you know its for your own good right?" Namjoon looks back from the front seat of the van at the maknae. Jungkook just nod weakly.
"You will see hee again Kookie. After everything is over and done, when you are free to do whatever you want, you will see her again," Namjoon tries to make him feels better.
"Yeah?" Jungkook looks at his hyung weakly. "And what if I dont? What if over and done is too late?"

Jungkook continues walking in the cold air until his feet takes him to rows and rows of cold grey stones and he stands in front of one.
"Hi princess..." tears rolls down his face, no sign of stopping. "You promise me you will wait for me to find you, but you lied didnt you? I-I'm sorry I was late... I-I'm sorry I was late to find you.." He knelt down, the ground still fresh, proving to Jungkook of what he doesnt want to believe is real and traced the cold grey headstone with his fingers.

Season 3 bad
Butch is very much an ideas person. After Steve Marmel left the show just went downhill. There was one writer that wanted it to go the grey ghost angle and another who wanted amethyst ocean and it just didn't work and then it got cancelled so the end relationship was so rushed it was terrible.
Changed the lore of his show half way through
So this is mostly Nick's fault, they thought the show being about ghosts was too gritty and they agreed to change it from being about real dead people who were once alive to monsters from another dimension. This is the change that Steve marmel was fired over iirc. Now we have ghost tornados. You can't just change lore like that half way through. Some people think that because he was born again midway through dp that he wanted this change to the lore so the dp universe wouldn't go against the bible's teachings. We don't know that for sure though.
Like JK Rowling returning with needless headcanons except they're not even an attempt at rep it's just "Jazz replaced her life and ambitions with being a lonely woman in a chair, while Maddie becomes a ghost pimp and Jack replaced half his body with robotics."
Remember how he destroyed Vlads character in PP? He still does it. It's like he doesn't remember his own show. In a 10 years later video, Jazz is completely out of character and the family is just okay with Maddie walking around with ghost slaves on leashes. The Fentons are genius' in their own right. And he's reduced them to Danny's sidekicks.

Oaxis was a family friendly streaming service that he started a Kickstarter for. Here's a good post that went around at the time that talks about it. In the end he surpassed his goal last minute thanks to thousands of dollars donated suddenly by Christians and Churches.
People who didn't realise what they invested in were unable to get their money back and are still waiting for their promised cameos in original shows according to high tier rewards.
The 'family friendly network' (that was all the info given) was actually going to be a Christian streaming service combining Netflix and YouTube. You can upload your own content or stream original content. If the content you upload isn't Christian Approved(tm) then real people would take down the video.
Here's a video of when he went around speaking to churches and actually explaining his thoughts and goals with Oaxis. Hes also disrespectful of mental illness in this video, claiming that violent media is to blame.
Big headed
He's just so full of himself, I watched 1 of his shows, that wasn't my whole childhood. Most animators draw themselves jokingly and then he is very flattering towards himself. KurotheArtist collaborated with butch for a while, animating some of his videos and providing ideas and helping with scripts for ones like the draw my life story. Butch is in breach of contract and owes Kuro $1400 for his work on the ImagiNathan project that was later cancelled. Kuro made a video about this which also mentions the whole "curing autism with prayer" as his reason for finally talking about it publicly.
Was caught tracing someone else's art for a $200 commission
His commissions are a minimum of $100. Which is a lot, most of its just for the price of his signature at the bottom tbh. It's $200 for full colour. This video came out, overlaying a picture of the character he was payed to draw over the commission image. Even using an image reference, it lines up far too well.

Women in Video Games
1. Super Mario

Princess Peach is a huge cultural icon, being one of the longest lasting characters within the Nintendo franchise. But unlike other characters in every mainline Mario game, Princess Peach’s main role is to be rescued. Princes Peach has to be kidnapped within the first 15 minutes of the game. And the rest of the game is about saving the damsel in distress who is dependent on the male lead (Mario). Princess Peach’s image is self-explanatory, depicting a stereotypical appearance of a princess. She is portrayed as a fragile, delicate character that needs to be protected. She carries no weapons only a parasol that acts as an an accessory to complete her signature pink girly look. Princess Peach’s name also says alot about her character. The fact that her name is “Peach” is used to degrade her to the status of a mere object, as if she is not a human being.
2. Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V gives a prime example of discrimination against women in video games. The game’s portrayal of women is viewed as uncreative props ready to be used, leered, harassed, and killed just for the gamer’s experience. While males are the main characters in the game, women are scarce and underrepresented. Despite not having any women main characters, the game also sexualizes them, allowing players to purchase them and use them in any way they like. The women in the game wear skimpy clothing that barely covers their body. They are illustrated to have a thin waist, curvy hips, and big breasts. However, women are not just sexualized but also physically abused and objectified. The game encourages players to kill the women and even rewards them for doing so. They are shown as housewives, while others are seen as prizes to be won -- a very old-fashioned perspective. The game is clearly misogynistic and celebrates abuse, prostitution, and sexual assault.
3. Hachi Koi

Another game introduced in the Nintendo franchise is Hachi Koi. Hachi Koi is a game about touching girls, the male protagonist is set with a mission before he dies, he wants to be able to love every woman that has romantic feelings for him. A highlight about this game is that the creator went out of the stereotypical role for a female character, creating different types of body shape. Even though the creator created different body shapes, the main purpose of the game is to let users pick out their ideal type, to place their sexual desires upon. Hachi Koi created their content upon sexualizing their characters allowing users to touch any female character they pick, and giving them the task of fulfilling their sexual desire by tying them up or applying lotion to the character's body. The game’s representation of women within Hachi Koi is degrading and humiliating.  
4. The Witcher 3

The Wild Hunt is the third franchise to The Witcher, a role playing video game that is based upon the fantasy series novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. The game follows a playable character named Geralt who is trying to find his adopted daughter, Ciri. Ciri is a strong girl with extraordinary powers that can destroy the world yet, she is not trusted and is allotted a man (Geralt) to protect her. In addition, many women are portrayed as monsters and creatures, obstacles created for Geralt to fight and overcome. They take the form of beautiful naked women, who use their beauty to seduce their prey in order to attack and kill them. The Witcher’s universe is oppressive towards women, by marking women's physical appearance as a sexualied weapon to seduce men and grab the attention of  male gamers. As a result, women aren’t just being sexualized but also depicted as evil beings that are predators and men are their prey/victims. This representation of women corresponds to the numerous stereotypes of women seen within thousands of famous video games.
5. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Horizon: Zero Dawn, the game takes place in a post apocalyptic world into the future, it is a third person action game that follows the story of a woman named Aloy. Women are equally represented in the game, whether they’re a protagonist, antagonist, warrior, or leader. Where in many other video games women has the stereotypical role or sex objects. Horizon: Zero Dawn moves past the typical male and female role by focusing on the characters personalities. With this focus on mind they made all their women characters distant and different. Adding color to different women characters along with different body shapes and personalities. The game's representation of women challenges tradition, by grouping male and women characters in tribes where both of the genders share power and spiritual beliefs. In the game, gamers also get to experience side quests, meeting different women from different tribes who are also represented as a strong symbol for women. This type of representation shows that women in video games don’t have to be male to be significant. With their strength and motivation these characters are able to make a difference within the world, even if they're not the main. With Horizon Zero Drawn players aren’t given a single female hero but a whole collection of different women that play hero’s within their own world. This representation should be an example of how every woman should be shown and treated within every video game within the gaming industry.
6. Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat is an arcade fighting game that was created by Midway Manufacturing. The game allows players to choose any character they like to fight. In recent years the creator of Mortal Kombat wanted to empower women representation within the game. He chose to dress the characters appropriately and created them as equally strong, while some are even more powerful than male character withins the game. The art director of Mortal kombat said,”Our design is just getting more mature and respectful. You’re not going to wear a bikini to a fight. You’re not going to be showing so much skin. I think it’s just what the game is about: You’re going in to fight for your life, and you’re not going to be wearing such scantily clad items.” This type of representation of women should be followed by other games as well. Not only that but the game contains one of the most playable female character unlike other fighting games.
 7. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

There are games that let players pick a female character as main, but it is even more rare to see a female character as a default player, Ninja Theory does just that. In the game we follow Senua of Hellblade, she is one of the strongest female characters that has emerged into the gaming world. The game narrative involves Senua struggling with psychosis, players watch as Senua overcomes her darkest demons. Moreover, Ninja Theory does an amazing job at making Senua realistic by having Senua wear armor and war paint. Senuas clothing shows signs of wear, tear, blood, and mud. The proportions of Senua’s body show no sign of sexual features. The game rejects stereotypes and the notion that female characters must adhere to patriarchal expectations. Furthermore, the game shows that Senua is not defined by her ailment nor her gender, Seuna is a true representation of how female characters should be represented within the gaming world.

maidang looks REALLY good. like redraw worthy. something about the expression / angle is just :ok_hand:. and i think the thick line style they use for these posters is also just really nice man
also really love diya here, prepping to use her power! please let us see more of her power, spatial powers are so freaking cool

but auroras... is.... it’s painfully obvious they cut/pasted from an actual screenshot, you can tell (see end of this post). shame bc it’s still a cool pose and everything, but the shading and line weights are all off... downsides of studying something too much ahaha

the big question of the poster: who’s the gardener-looking old man?????? for him to make it onto a promotional poster in a decently prominent position, he must be pretty plot significant! but whomst? is he the guy who’s gonna save/exorcise maidang? backstory relevant??

we see the king spaceship at the upper left, midway is the digital screen sorta thing trademark of the competition arenas. behind RS logo is the engine i think? then a row of seven galaxy eye spaceships. then what looks like the stands of the competition?? or maybe some ruins, it’s hard to tell. and most intriguingly, what is the ox-man statue at the center? vaguely reminiscent of the guy teased at at the end of last movie. one of the yayaluo warriors? will we learn more about aunt panda / redeye backstory / that whole shebang?? planet earth things? possibilities endless, there’s so much we don’t know :000
