Fossil Specimen (Black Beauty: RTMP 81.6.1) – Black Beauty, discovered in 1980, is distinguished both by its striking appearance and by being the first T. rex specimen to receive a nickname. It is on display at the Royal Tyrell Museum in Alberta, Canada and has replica casts around the world.

There Are Tyrannosaurs Trying On Pants in My Bedroom – This Golden Book tells the story of a boy who can’t do any of the tasks his parents have asked him to do because, as he claims, the entire house is full of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures getting in the way with their own activities. I wish I could remember more, but my original copy is at my parents’ house and there is precious little information online. That said, I think we can safely assume the Tyrannosaurs try on pants.

Disney Publishing Worldwide Set First Ariel Book In Merchandise Rollout

Disney Publishing Worldwide has started to list the books of the upcoming Ariel animated series as it follows 8-year-old mermaid princess Ariel as she and her friends embark on fun-filled, action-packed underwater adventures throughout their Caribbean-inspired fairytale kingdom of Atlantica and beyond.

The first one of these books is a Little Golden Book slated for Summer 2024.

Ariel has been my favorite girl since forever and working on a Little Golden Book has been my dream since, well, forever, which makes this a double dream come true! 🧜🏻‍♀️

“Part of Your World” will be released on April 9 and I can’t wait for you to see it and sing along with it!

It’s so wild to know that the song I’ve been constantly singing since I first saw this movie when I was a little kid has now my drawings to accompany it in an actual Little Golden Book 🥹

If you told me a week ago that there was a Little Golden Book for children adapting the 1975 thriller, Jaws, I’d have laughed at you. But I found this in a children’s book section today. (Meaning this isn’t a case of “written for adult” parodies like the recent Ladybird Books; it’s a genuine LBG.) The character designs are based on the Funko Pop figures.

It follows the movie relatively closely, focusing on the boat trip, though with a distinct lack of people being eaten. And the title is based on the famous like “You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat.”

The story goes up to the point where Hooper, Quint and Brody sing their “I’m Tired and I Wanna Go to Bed” song, which apparently is enough to make Bruce tired ... but as the final page which recreates the famous poster warns: “The shark comes back - da-dum.” 

Maybe it was a gag aimed at adults - like some of the Sesame Street videos made for Youtube that are not made for kids - but it still ended up next to copies of The Poky Little Puppy where I found it.

There’s also a Stranger Things book, too. Can’t wait to see their versions of Silence of the Lambs and The Exorcist.
