This is just some speculation: do we even know if Sunny actually lost his left eye?
Of course, it's missing in all post-true ending fanworks but, I'm curious.
We know Basil most likely stabbed it with the shears and that Sunny lost vision in it until he blacked out. But does that equate to permanent vision loss? A bandage covers his left eye in the True Route, but I suspected that even without eye removal bandages would be put over a healing eye, so I did a little research.
Tumblr media
I did minimal digging (only five or six websites and a couple of accounts from people who've sustained eye injuries) so, take this all with a grain of salt! (reblogs with more informed answers are great!!)
This is written rather sloppily as it's wednesday morning and I'm sick, but here's what I got.
It is entirely possible that Sunny kept his eye- and maybe recovered some of the lost vision.
A large puncture with the shears damaging his optic nerve would result in permanent vision loss- and damage to the retina is most likely to also end badly. It is possible for parts of the retina to heal, creating spotty vision with areas being completely blacked out and other areas visible, but usually the eye's done for.
Damage to anywhere else, however, is able to be fixed (with surgery).
If only the lens or the whites/sclera of the eye was stabbed, it is highly likely Sunny would be able to regain vision. Replacing the lens with an artificial one is a common type of surgery, which is also used in the case of cateracts (if no other treatment works).
Damage to the cornea or iris isn't as easy- a pierced iris is able to be treated but afterwards our guy would have to wear sunglasses around everywhere as it controls how much light the pupil lets into the eyeball. A damaged cornea would be far worse as the only way to get a new one is through a cornea transplant- however the cornea, iris, pupil, lenses, ect have no important nerves vital for vision- only the nerves that help you focus your eye or change the amount of light going in. Replacing them are complex procedures but they are possible (though it is important to note that cornea surgeries have high risk of failure).
I think it really depends on how Sunny was stabbed. I'm pretty sure the fight happened with both Basil and Sunny standing up- so Basil taking a swing and grazing Sunny's eye would cause bleeding and immense pain but is likely to be treatable. However, I see a lot of fanworks of Sunny being knocked to the ground and Basil driving the shears into his eye. I... don't believe this happened in canon (it wasn't mentioned in the little top bar "BASIL pushed SUNNY to the ground", ect) but if it did, this would have ten times the impact. If the shears gouged deep enough (and take this as an even bigger grain of salt) it could very well kill Sunny- right behind the eye is the brain. And even if they didn't, the wound would be much deeper with piercing of the retina and possibly the optic nerve.
thank you for coming to my ted talk LOL
Some notes:
-Omori happened in the '90s-2000's. I do not know if some of the surgeries (especially cornea transplants) had the same success rate back then as they do with more modern technology.
-I am NOT A DOCTOR. I found this out via multiple sources online. and please, I doubt anyone would ever do this but do NOT refer to this post if you or someone around you sustains an eye injury. I suggest calling 111 (or 911, or whatever the emergency number is in your region.)
-that's it! Ja!

When the zombie apocalypse started, you felt only a sense of sour humor. Like on those nights when you wished you could sleep and never wake up, some cosmic entity heard you, and was taking a kind of sick vengeance.
Your friends laughed and stole liquor out of locked cabinets and took shots in the name of doom.
You went home and turned the tv all the way up and locked every single door twice. It wasn’t enough.
Don’t approach someone if they appear sick, they said. Avoid them and dial 911.
After a week they disabled emergency service lines.
Stay indoors. Only go out when necessary. Keep your distance from one another, they said.
Online, people called it a hoax.
But that footage they showed on the news, people emptied out and filled with some creature that knew only hunger, that snarled and lunged for those around them without hesitation…something in you knew without doubt that it wasn’t fake.
The government gave blinding smiles and sent every army they had. They promised everything would be fine.
Nothing would ever be fine again.
Bullets did nothing. No matter how wounded, those humans that were empty and vicious dragged themself with bloody nails after anything that pumped blood. Those soldiers died and came back, killing their friends and family and comrades.
The government stopped going on tv.
With all your precautions, with every warning you gave your friends who didn’t give a shit anymore, who took this as a sign to give up, with every tip you got from the news, it didn’t save you in the end.
Thousands, millions were dying every day and you…
One week after the start zombie apocalypse, you saw a dog. A pitiful, sick dog that whined at you and gave you mournful eyes, and you froze.
And you stopped.
And you knelt down next to it because you with your fear and your kind heart wanted to be a vet.
Because you, with all of your precaution and all of those warnings forgot everything.
A week and a day after the zombie apocalypse started, you lost control of your own body. You were filled with something so hungry every bone in your body ached.
That’s fine, you thought. I’ll die soon anyways. The people on the news said the host always died. That there wasn’t anything left inside.
Two weeks after the zombie apocalypse starts you realize that the people on the news were wrong.
You start screaming. No one bothers to try and save you.
The creature inside of you has been dragging you across this wretched planet for a month, and you crave death with the same fervor that it craves flesh. The news people, your neighbors, your family, they flee from you.
They cannot hear you begging for them to burn every scrap of you alive.
You wish they would.
Two months after the start of the zombie apocalypse the creature inside of you has run out of things to eat. You are starving. Everything hurts. Your heart is giving out.
At some point, the creature inside you starts to consume your body.
You should be dead by now
It won’t let you die
It eats your vocal cords. Rips them apart with your fingers, tears out your tongue. Peels off your flesh.
The pain consumes every thought until your nerves fry.
You count it as a blessing.
You lose your eyes, your fingers, every piece of you soon after.
You cannot bring yourself to care.
A year after the zombie apocalypse starts, your body gives out. You lie on something that feels like asphalt. The remains of your muscles and tendons and joints and bones twitch as the creature pulls once, twice, again, but you do not move.
You feel it then, as it leaves you lying there. The utter cruelty of it as it leaves you lying on the ground, when it has been the only thing keeping you alive for eleven months.
You have been dying for over a year. You have been dead in your mind for far longer.
You regret every thought you ever had about the zombie apocalypse, about the notion of quick death and reanimation.
You regret the things you didn’t do. The things you did. You can feel your heart, finally, give out.
You wish you could see the sky one more time as you slip into the dark.
But you haven’t had your eyes for a long, long while.
And with one last breath, you die alone on an empty street, with only the uncaring creature that stripped you for parts and murdered you slowly to watch you go.

Chapter Update!
Continuing the Saturday Evening trend for updating How Long Do You Wanna Be Loved, I present Chapter 7.
This is a MEGA chapter - roughly 2x as long as previous chapters. Why is it so long? Because I was informed that it was impolite to nonconsentually edge my readers by posting half a sex scene this week and the other half next week. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
As promised, this is the chapter where things between Buck and Eddie get 🌶️🌶️🌶️
First seven sentences:
Eddie doesn’t waste any time getting Buck alone after Athena leaves. He’s jittery and anxious as he and Buck stand across from each other in the same room, practically the same spot, where they first tried this. He tries his best not to focus on how badly that ended up, with Eddie putting his foot in his mouth so badly that Buck had literally fled the room. He really, really needs things to go better this time. He just has to get his nerves under control so he doesn’t do something ridiculous like puke or faint before they can even get started. “Hey,” Buck says, putting a hand on each of Eddie’s shoulders to steady him. “Eddie, I need you to take a breath for me and calm down. We don’t have to do this right now.”

Valentine's Day With Steve
Tumblr media
Trigger warning: labor, emergency c-section, childbirth, Steve Rogers, fluff in the end
Summary: It's Valentine's Day, and you and Steve welcome James into the world.
The nursery is set up. The crib is built, the changing table is built. The dresser is full of onesies, booties, and various other baby clothes. You're napping in bed, while Steve is giving you a foot rub.
Tumblr media
You feel a sharp pain. At first, you think it's Braxton Hicks, so Steve fetches you a glass of water. You drink the water.
"Thanks, Steve," you say, and drink the water.
"Shh, doll. James will be here soon," says Steve.
"Steve, can you help me up? Our son is sitting on my bladder again," you say.
It seems that just when you would get comfortable again as best as you can, James would sit on your bladder. Steve helps you up, and helps you to the bathroom, because you need to pee for the 200th time this morning.
Steve looks at the sketchbook. Today's sketch was with you, naked, and you have a bright red heart and nice, white heart with lace trim on your belly. The little chalkboard that had that day's stats were in the drawing, and each stat is of the chalkboard that is drawn up close. It's dated February 14th.
Tumblr media
A little while later, you feel another pain, this one sharper and more painful than the last.
"STEVE!", you scream.
Steve comes rushing and sees you doubled over.
"Oh, Doll," coos Steve.
"I'll call the doctor," says Steve
"AHHHHHHHH, the baby's coming Steve!", you scream.
Steve is calling the doctor, and you feel dizzy and lightheaded. You faint, and Steve immediately calls 911. Something is definitely wrong!
Tumblr media
Steve is on the phone with the operator, and is trying to bring you back around. The ambulance arrives, and the paramedics are busy taking your vitals and setting you up on a fetal monitor. The fetal monitor indicates that the baby's heartbeat is going down rapidly, which is affecting you. You're also bleeding uncontrollably, which is another reason why you passed out. The paramedics are trying to control your bleeding, and they realize that you now have a placental abruption.
Tumblr media
Steve is sitting in the ambulance, worried sick. The paramedics are busy working on you, and are keeping in touch with the hospital. The hospital immediately sets up an OR, and your ob/gyn is there, wanting to keep an eye on the baby.
When the paramedics arrive at the hospital, you've finally come around. You still have an oxygen mask on, and you're still bleeding. The doctor and nurses rush you to the OR, and get ready for an emergency c-section. It was the only way that James could be delivered safely. Steve is in there, and his nerves are frazzled. He's trying to keep it together for you, but he is worried sick.
Tumblr media
The doctor immediately puts you on IV drip with anesthetic coming in your spine locally. They don't put you to sleep during a c-section, and you're still breathing through the oxygen mask. You came to when you arrived at the hospital.
"Shh, James will be here soon, doll. Just hang on," says Steve, who has grabbed your hand, and kisses your hand.
Tumblr media
You nod with the oxygen mask on. The IV drip is providing the anesthetic, and the doctor has now cut you open. James is immediately removed, and it was discovered that the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. He was losing oxygen rapidly, which was caused you to faint. The cord being wrapped around James' neck was what caused the placental abruption, so it was basically the lack of oxygen that James was getting that was causing the placental abruption.
James Joseph Rogers is born on February 14 at 1:15 p.m. via an emergency c-section.
The ob/gyn, and the nurses are now trying to bring James around. The doctor had managed to get the cord unwrapped, but it took a while for James to start breathing. When you and Steve hear James cry, you both breathe a sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
An incubator in the NICU is ready, and James is placed in the incubator. The incubator will not only keep James alive, it will help him start to breathe regularly, have a regular heartbeat and it will help him recover. The doctors give you and James and excellent prognosis. James may not have to be in the incubator for long, and you have an excellent chance at recovery, since Steve had enough sense to call an ambulance the second you fainted. James is set up on a machine that is keeping an eye on his vitals.
You just wanted to hold James after he was born. You're devasted, and Steve is sitting next to James in the incubator. He's stroking James' head, and telling him that he's amazingly strong, just like his mama. You sleep after a while. A few hours later, the nurse takes you to the NICU so that you can feed James. The nurse asked if you planned on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or pumping. You were going to breast feed James for the first year of his life.
"James, this is not how we wanted you to start life. Originally, your mom and I were planning on home birthing you," says Steve.
Tumblr media
The home birthing part is true. You had no intention of wanting to give birth in a hospital. You were low risk, everything was normal, and you had the doctor, a nurse, and a midwife at the ready. You had everything ready for the home birth. In fact, you felt it would be more natural to have a home birth. Steve felt the same way. Steve would be behind you, saying soothing things, while you were in labor. You would eventually be naked, giving birth to James. You would be squatting and pushing James out. You felt that a home birth would be the one of the most beautiful and natural things that you and Steve would experience as a couple. Valentine's day would be even more meaningful since James would be born, and it would be the best Valentine's day ever!
Tumblr media
James had other ideas. He was born via an emergency c-section.
The nurse helps you pull down your gown, and you release your breast. The nurse carefully removes James from the incubator, and hands you James. You hold your breast to James and he takes it.
Tumblr media
James and you are bonding in the most beautiful and natural way possible. Steve is smiling at the wholesome site. Steve is sitting in the corner, drawing a picture of breast feeding James.
Tumblr media
You finish feeding James, and Steve gives you a loving kiss to your forehead.
"Get some sleep, doll," says Steve. You were tired. You looked tired. The nurse takes you back to your hospital room, and Steve is right next to you. You both fall asleep in the hospital bed, exhaustion taking over the both of you.
"Good morning, doll," says Steve. Steve and you wake up in the hospital.
"Good morning, Steve," you say.
The next morning, you see a hospital crib in your room. You think you're seeing things, and you call the nurse. It takes you a while to realize that it's your baby, and that James must be doing a lot better.
"James made a full recovery," explains the nurse.
"He's breathing normally, he has a normal heart rate, he's a strong, healthy baby boy," says the nurse.
"How did he recover so quickly?" you ask.
Dr. Banner walks in, and says his congratulations. He explains that Steve's altered DNA and Steve's serum made James be stronger than most. He explained that it was the altered DNA that helped speed up James' recovery. Bruce even packed a hospital bag for you that contained all the basic needs. His girlfriend helped him. What happened was so fast that Steve didn't have any time to pack, let alone think. He was concerned with you.
Tumblr media
It turned out the reason why Bruce was here was that he was dating one of the nurses. He heard about what happened, and that she had to be in the OR. Being a nurse had it's advantages, and Bruce was the only person that she could think of to call. Luckily, Bruce told Tony and everyone. Bruce was a gossip, and he was the one that blurted out that you were pregnant well after you had hyperemesis gravidarum. You and Steve wanted to announce it when you both had the cookout at the house you both bought.
'Thanks, Bruce," you say, tiredness in your voice. Steve hugs Bruce.
Later on, the rest of the Avengers arrive to see you and James. Tony says that James should have been named after him.
Tumblr media
"Tony! This is our baby," you say.
"We chose to name him after Bucky and after my father," says Steve.
"Anthony Rogers has a MUCH better ring to it," says Tony.
"I wanted to name our son after Steve's best friend and his father," you say.
Bucky and Natasha come in and congratulate you and Steve. Bucky found another teddy for James that looks like Bucky that's dressed as the Winter Soldier.
Thor sees James, and comments to Steve that James was already a figher.
"Thanks, Thor," says Steve.
Clint comments how much James is like Steve, even down to Steve's features. You thank Clint.
A few days later, you and Steve are ready to take James home. Bucky arrives in the car you and Steve picked out. The car seat was already loaded in, your hospital bag was already packed. You had already applied the antibiotic ointment. Steve pulls the car around, and Bucky wheels you down. Bucky drives you and Steve back home, with you and Steve sitting in the back.
Bucky parks in the driveway, and Steve gets out and opens the door. You and James are sleeping in the backseat, so Steve carries you into the house, bridal style, and Bucky carries James in, and places James in his crib.
Tumblr media
Steve falls asleep next to you. Bucky decides to stay for a while in case you and Steve need anything. Natasha comes over, and helps the both of you.
After a while, James cries, and he needs to be fed. You breast feed him, and this feels amazing. You and Steve are tired, you had an unplanned c-section, you feel sort of frumpy, but Steve tells you every hour how beautiful you are.
"Shh, James. I know you and mama went through a lot," says Steve. Steve places a Captain America pacifier in James mouth. James falls asleep again.
"You are so beautiful and so strong, doll," says Steve.
"You are the most beautiful new mother ever," says Steve.
You cry at this because Steve is so right. You feel ugly at times, but Steve makes you feel less insecure and more beautiful. Your body housed your and Steve's baby for nine whole months.
Steve and you slow dance to "It's Been a Long, Long Time" by Kitty Kallen and then to " Perfect" by Ed Sheeran.
Tumblr media

youtube
"Steve, I love you so much. You are the best husband a woman can ask for, and more. You even made me feel safe after I had James via a c-section," you say.
"Shh, I love you, too, doll. I love you so much. You went through a lot to bring James into the world. You made my dream of marriage and fatherhood come true. I love you so much because you are so strong, even after you escaped your last relationship. I knew you were going to be my wife the second we bumped into each other," says Steve.
"Yeah, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I was too busy making sure the papers that Tony gave me were in order," you say.
"Being the gentlemen you were, you stopped to help me pick them up and you looked like a little lost puppy trying to navigate a new world in a new place," you say.
"You were the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," you say.
You and Steve kiss each other lovingly. This feels amazing because Steve is doing his best to make you feel beautiful again, even though you're tired, you feel frumpy, and you can't even remember when was the last time you showered or even brushed your teeth.
Tumblr media
You and Steve continue like this for a while. Bucky and Natasha order Chinese for everyone. You all eat your dinner, and Bucky and Natasha stay the night in case you both need anything.
You and Steve fall asleep in each other's arms. After a while, James cries, needing a feeding, then cries again an hour later, needing a change. You feed James, and Steve changes his diaper.
The love between you and Steve was special and beautiful. James even added more love between the both of you and he added even more love to the Rogers household.
It was the best Valentine's day ever! Next year, you and Steve would be celebrating James' first birthday.

In the heart of a bustling city, amidst the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the gentle hum of conversation, there existed a quaint little café named "Café Serendipity." This unassuming place was about to become the stage for an extraordinary twist of fate.
Alex, a young man with an introverted disposition, sat alone in a quiet corner of the café. His nose was buried in a book, and his world consisted of the words that flowed from its pages. This particular day, however, was destined to yank him from his literary sanctuary.
As Alex savored the warmth of his cappuccino, he indulged in a flaky pastry, not knowing that this innocent indulgence would soon turn into a life-threatening ordeal. With a sudden, violent cough, a piece of pastry lodged itself firmly in his throat. Panic surged through him as he gasped for air, desperately clawing at his throat in a futile attempt to dislodge the stubborn morsel. His face turned a deep shade of crimson, and his vision blurred as he struggled to breathe.
The café erupted into chaos as patrons rushed to his aid. Some dialed 911 while others frantically searched for anyone who could help. Time was slipping away, and Alex's life hung by a precarious thread.
Amidst the commotion, a young barista named Lily emerged as the beacon of hope. She had recently completed a first aid training course and recognized the dire situation unfolding before her. With a calm but resolute demeanor, she made her way through the crowd towards Alex.
Lily gently but firmly guided the panicked patrons away, creating a clear space around Alex. She knew she had to act swiftly and with precision. She recalled her training and realized that the Heimlich Maneuver was the only chance to save him.
Positioning herself behind Alex, Lily wrapped her arms around his waist, locking her hands together just above his navel. With a controlled urgency, she applied sudden, upward thrusts, exerting pressure on his diaphragm, all the while praying that this would dislodge the obstructing pastry.
It was a tense and harrowing moment. As Lily pressed forcefully against Alex's diaphragm, the entire café held its breath, their eyes fixed on the life-and-death struggle playing out before them. Alex's desperate gasps for air filled the room, contrasting starkly with the hushed silence that had fallen over the patrons.
Lily's heart pounded in her chest, her mind focused solely on the task at hand. She could feel the tension in Alex's body, the desperation in his every movement, but she refused to yield. With each attempt, she put more strength into the maneuver, determined to dislodge the obstructing pastry and save his life.
Seconds felt like an eternity, and as Alex continued to fight for breath, his vision grew dimmer. He could sense his strength waning, but he refused to surrender to the darkness that threatened to consume him. He clung to the hope that Lily's efforts would be enough to bring him back from the brink.
And then, in one electrifying moment that seemed to stretch into eternity, it happened. With a final, powerful thrust, the pastry shot out of Alex's throat, propelled by the sheer force of Lily's relentless efforts. He gasped for air, his chest heaving, his face flushed with a mixture of relief and disbelief.
But just as he started to regain his composure, Alex's world faded to black. He had lost consciousness, leaving Lily in a state of panic. The café fell into a stunned silence as Lily checked for signs of life, desperately hoping for a response from Alex.
Realizing that Alex needed more than the Heimlich Maneuver, someone in the café shouted for an ambulance. Moments later, EMTs arrived, rushing to Alex's side. They quickly assessed the situation and took over, performing abdominal thrusts, using a suction device to clear his airway, and initiating CPR.
It was a tense and nerve-wracking scene as the EMTs worked tirelessly to revive Alex. The café, once filled with the sound of life, was now filled with the hum of urgent medical activity.
Minutes felt like hours, but the EMTs refused to give up. With every chest compression and every breath, they fought to bring Alex back from the brink. And then, as if by a miracle, his pulse returned, and he took a labored but vital breath.
The café erupted into relieved applause and cheers as the EMTs continued their life-saving efforts. Alex was on his way to the hospital, and his life had been saved through the combined efforts of Lily's initial bravery and the skilled hands of the emergency medical team.

It all started the night Julie finally built up the nerve to clean out the studio. She took some time to admire her mom’s baby grand. A little guilt formed in the pit of her stomach and ached in her chest that even now, alone, she couldn’t bring herself to play.
When she listened to the old CD she could have sworn it must be broken. Screams crescendoed over the music, suddenly coming to a stop just as she found them unbearable. Except the screams hadn’t sounded like they came from the stereo, they sounded like they were in the room.
Tentatively she crept towards the old cd player. Her brain preoccupied, she tripped over her own large monster slippers, hands flying up to catch herself.
Only, the air caught her instead.
It felt like two hands had wrapped themselves around her upper arms, another hand pushed against her shoulder. Julie tried to get her breathing under control as she attempted to rationalize the sensation. A futile endeavor when two different voices whispered, “duuude,” while a third voice muttered, “what the f-”
She abandoned the studio as quickly as her legs could, screaming all the way back to her room.
Things only continued to be weird from there.
She couldn’t focus on dinner, or the serious conversation her Dad and Tia were trying to have with her. As something kept tapping on her shoulders. When she tried to swat the sensation away her hand definitely caught in someone else's.
She heard a small giddy “holy shit” in the brief moments her fingers were tangled with it.
Later just as she was about to go to bed, rock music blasted out of the studio. Thankfully her Dad and Carlos were fast to fall asleep, and difficult to wake up. When she went to investigate, the abandoned instruments from the loft were set up. Which she definitely hadn’t done.
By far the weirdest part of her evening however happened as she worked to unplug the amps.
The piano began to play by itself, almost haltingly so when she glared at it. Then the sheet music to her mom’s song slowly slid across the piano top, towards the keys. She lunged and grabbed it.
A subtle stingy warmth ached around her eyes as she backed out of the studio. Eyes glued to the piano, the sheet music held tight to her chest. It was too much. The battle to hold her tears in was lost and she ran back to her room.
Once she was safely cocooned in her bed she pulled her phone out. Her earlier 911 message to Flynn was still unread. She couldn’t wait for a response, her thumb pressed
“Jules? What’s wrong?” Flynn’s panic was palpable even across the phone. It made sense, the only thing worse than a 911 message was an actual call.
Julie took a few shaky breaths as she tried to collect her thoughts. She wasn’t even sure where to begin. “Do you believe in ghosts? Or not?”
“Ghosts? Jules, what are you talking about?”
She tried to explain but it only came out as mumbles, gasps, and broken quiet sobs. Her mind replayed the image of the sheet music sliding across the piano, over and over.
“Ok, listen,” Flynn’s voice was soft and gentle, like she was trying to verbally hug her. “It sounds like you need some time to collect yourself. I am going to set an alarm and head over first thing in the morning so you can talk to me in person.”
Julie mumbled out a small affirmative noise as she heard the subtle sound of Flynn's tapping on her phone.
“Right. For now, I’ll stay on the line for as long as you need me to. Ok?” Flynn’s voice got quieter. Julie could hear some ruffling, presumably Flynn trying to adjust herself in her bed. “You’re going to be ok Jules.”
Julie soon fell asleep to Flynn humming. It was more of a restful sleep than she expected it to be considering the state she had been in. Still she woke up a decent amount of time before sunrise.
After getting dressed, and spying the sheet music still on her bed. Julie tentatively returned to the studio.
“Hello?” her voice wavered, uncertain if she even wanted to hear a reply. She ambled around the studio, her eyes inspecting every corner, as if she would suddenly spot something different.
The soft light of early dawn filtered through the windows as she gently placed her mom’s song back on the piano. The words caught her eye, and her fingers hovered over the keys again. A tentative press of the first notes soon turned into her pouring her whole heart and all her grief into the song.
A strange sense of hope of relief mixed in as she quickly grew more confident in her playing and singing. The words connected with her in a way they hadn’t when she had simply read them to herself. They felt more powerful this way, she felt more powerful.
As she finished, she softly looked over the sheets again, a small reassuring note from her mom on the final page. She brought it to her chest in another hug, a hug that grew as she suddenly felt three sets of arms wrap her up from behind.
“That was beautiful” she heard an awed whisper, one of the three disembodied voices from last night.
“Thanks?” Tentatively she brought her hand up and patted the air by her shoulder, which felt a little like leather. “Little weird getting a compliment from the air, but, thanks.”
“Wait.”
“Julie!” Flynn’s ecstatic voice echoed from the front of the studio. Her braids flew behind her as she dashed in to unknowingly join in the invisible group hug. But her arms made contact with Julie, an odd sensation feeling two solid presences overlap like that.
Flynn pulled back, eyes shimmering, clearly she had been crying, “Jules, I’m so proud of you. That was amazing.”
Julie beamed up at her friend, thankful that whoever else had been hugging her also pulled back away from her. Their heated whispered conversation was getting difficult to ignore.
Suddenly Flynn gasped, “oh my god! We have to go tell Mrs. Harrison and get you back in the music program!” She struck a pose as she pulled Julie off the piano bench, “Double Trouble lives again!”
“That is not our band name,” Julie laughed out, sending a wave back toward the empty looking studio. She felt a little silly doing so, but it felt a little rude to not say goodbye. She and Flynn continued to joke all the way to school. Julie, not certain what to expect in the coming days but optimistic nonetheless.

Just finished watching 911 Lonestar and that promo...Nope! I don’t like it. I’m not sure if they’re trying to get us worried about Owen or (I fear this is more likely cause I’m a worry wart) if they showed Owen on the stretcher to give us a false sense of security that he makes it out alive (only for him to die at the hospital).
It just wouldn’t make sense for them to kill him off right after an episode he was barely in imo, but they have had him say things that needed to be said last episode. And Rob and his son have a new show. I know it’s only a comedy on Netflix, likely short, but errrr...the timing of this focus is nerve-wracking. And I’m sure someone out there would think Owen dying due to a collapsed building like he “should have” on the day of 9/11 would be poetic. I think it’s NOT.
I’m going to be sweating this out all week. Yes, cause I love Owen, despite his flaws because he’s a good person underneath those flaws and there’s still so much they could do with his character even though he’s finally got his anger under control. He and TK still have repairs to make. And I want to see him meet up with his brother and actually get to know him. Have TK meet him (not at a funeral).
I am NOT okay [after that promo].

a trauma dump in a way
I guess I can talk about one of my co workers. I dont know if ive talked about this on here, but I was hit by a car two and half years ago. and im still battling the lawsuit, and healing from my injuries. I had a lot a lot a lot of injuries, over 9 injuries. and this co worker, he keeps joking about my accident. and it's like, um, ?????. I mean its different when I make a joke about it, because when I make a joke about it I decide its okay and im actively thinking about it, but when someone else makes a jokes about it it catches me off guard, it triggers me. because I wasn't expecting it. and I dont appreciate it.
like, its not like he has to constantly ask people what they said or can't hear ur best friends talk to you half the time. its not like he can't eat and watch a movie at the same time. its not like he needs a hearing aid at 17, 18, 19, 20 years old. its not like he get triggered when someone gets hit by a car or a bus or anything when watching movies and tv shows. its not like he has major back pains as a result of a fractured pelvis from the accident. doesn't have brain damage, can't focus or remember or understand things as well as he should be. so incredibly angry at the world for what happened. treating strangers horribly, just because of the anger you have for what happened what to you. that theyre living their happy go merry life, and here you are traumatized. hurt. and you can't even control it. you dont want to be mean, but it just happens. its deep inside of you. the accident made you a hateful person. not like he has to deal with that.
dealing with the repercussions of not brushing ur teeth for a year after ur accident because you were so tramitauzed and depressed. didn't have to go through inpatient and out patient rehab. didnt have to beg your parents to please take you out of inpatient rehab, begging and crying to please take you home. didnt have to spend 3 weeks in the hostpital, spend thanksgiving in the hospital. doesn't have to deal with lawyers telling you your case is impossible to win, that it was your fault. doesn't have to go to therapy for their severe PTSD. not like he'll ever see Christmas different. or thanksgiving different. not like he has to deal with the flashbacks constantly, everyday. not like he has to look at the pictures from the scene, the police report, the 911 calls, the witness statements. its not like he can't drive at 19 because he's so incredibly scared of being on the road, in control of a car, and can't focus on two things at time. not like he has to a ride a bike to a from work everyday because he can't drive at 19. not like he sees the 18th of every month differently, especially the 18th of November. not like he spent 8 months with half of his paralyzed. not like the facial nerves in his face are still different to this day. not like he can't go to doctor appointments anymore because he has to relive the accident all over again, every time. its not like he mourns the person he was before the accident, how my brain used to be normal.
so, after all that, why does he make jokes about it? but then again, its not like ive told him all this. I wish I was strong enough to do that. but in order to get him to understand that he can't make jokes like that, I have to relive it. I have to give the details, explain what im going through and how this is hard. and that takes so much. it's so hard.

Texas woman sentenced to 75 years in prison for ‘sadistic torture’ of another woman
A Wylie, Texas, woman will spend the next 75 years behind bars after she was found guilty of the sadistic torture of a young woman, which included things like having boiling water poured on her, food restriction, no communication with the outside world and not being able to get medical treatment. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced the sentencing Tuesday of 37-year-old Alicia Calderon, after she was sentenced to 75 years for first-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury to a household member. "Calderon tricked the victim into living with her, and then controlled her with unthinkable torture," Willis said. "She severely burned the victim’s arms, chest, and back by pouring a pot of boiling water on her. She also deprived her of food, locked her in a dog crate, and cut off her communication to the outside world." TEXAS SUSPECT SOUGHT IN CONNECTION TO DOUBLE HOMICIDE MAY BE FLEEING COUNTRY: POLICE Alicia Calderon booking photo (Collin County District Attorney's Office) Calderon made an agreement with the 24-year-old victim in 2019, allowing her to move into her family’s trailer in Wylie, free of charge, in exchange for keeping the house clean, caring for Calderon’s children and taking care of a disabled elderly woman. At first, the agreement worked well, but after several months, the DA’s office said, the situation deteriorated. Calderon started by taking away the victim’s cell phone, which was followed by restricting her food and movements in and out of the dwelling.
