Noble Blood - Chapter Four

hello again friends! sorry the wait between chapters was so much longer than the last two. life has been..... messy, to put it lightly. but the chapter is finished now and i'm posting it before i overthink it too much. i hope you enjoy!

Not much changed after the new year’s festival. Satoru went back to his training sessions with Yaga while you and the rest of your friends attended school and filled your free time however you saw fit.

Winter quickly turned to spring, and before you knew it, the sakura trees were in full bloom, the soft pink-white petals dancing on the breeze and covering the streets, the delicate perfume from the blossoms filling the air and making everything seem brighter.

All of those things also reminded you of the sakura tree that grew outside of Satoru’s bedroom, and it made you miss him even more than you already did. But springtime had a habit of bringing hope and with it, and you allowed yourself to imagine things would get better soon, and you would be able to spend your days with Satoru as you used to.

It felt almost too good to be true when you stepped out of your house one morning to see Satoru and Shoko waiting for you outside.

“Thank god you’re here,” Shoko said. “He’s been driving me nuts while we were waiting. Says he has big news, or something, but that’s all I can get out of him.”

“Because we don’t have everybody here yet!” Satoru said, sticking his tongue out at Shoko before turning back to you and smiling brightly. “C’mon, we have a couple more stops to make.”

Unwilling to question how or why your friend was able to come down from the estate and spend time with all of you again, you nodded, following eagerly after him as he headed off down the road, presumably to pick up Utahime, then to see the Nanami siblings.

“Do you have any idea what he’s on about?” Shoko asked, leaning in a bit closer to you as the two of you followed the boy.

The only thing you could think of was that Satoru had finally decided to tell the rest of your friends that he had Kenji, regardless of what his parents wanted; he’d bonded with Kenji nearly three months before, and you were the only person outside the Gojo clan – besides Yaga – that knew Satoru had his dragon.

“None at all,” you told her, offering an apologetic smile.

She sighed, rolled her eyes. “I bet it’s not even anything important, he’s just tired of being cooped up at home and he wants us all to pay attention to him again.”

You said nothing in response, knowing that she was going to be absolutely floored when she found out about Kenji, though stifling your laughter over her words was hard.

“Are you guys talking about me back there?” Satoru asked, glancing over his shoulder at you and grinning. “I am the most interesting person you know, after all.”

“We’re talking about how annoying you are,” Shoko said, and her words were made even funnier by her completely deadpan delivery. Satoru scowled at her, sticking his tongue out for the second time that morning, and this time Shoko returned the gesture. All you could do was laugh at them.

It wasn’t long before the three of you reached Utahime’s house, and Shoko volunteered to be the one to knock on the door; Utahime and Satoru were friends, yes, but if she only saw him and didn’t know that anyone else was with him yet, the odds that she would shut the door in his face were high.

Utahime looked past Shoko with narrowed eyes at Satoru, though her expression relaxed when she saw you standing there with him, and after a moment she stepped outside to join the rest of you.

“What’s the ‘big news’ you have?” she asked your white haired friend suspiciously.

“I can’t tell you yet!” he declared with a grin. “We have to go get Nanamin first.” It was still exceedingly funny to you that Satoru still insisted on calling Kento by a diminutive of his last name, rather than by his first name like the rest of you did. Kento didn’t find it all that amusing, but he never complained about it, either.

And so, off the four of you went, Satoru leading the way while the rest of you followed after him. As you all filed into the bakery, you were greeted warmly by Kento’s father, Ginger perched on his shoulder for the time being.

“Hello, Nanami-san!” Satoru chirped, offering the older man a slight bow in greeting.

“Is Kento here?” Utahime asked curiously.

His father nodded. “Yes, I believe he’s upstairs. Kokoro is resting right now though, I’m afraid. She had a bit of a fever last night and didn’t sleep very well.”

You and Utahime frowned at that and offered your condolences, while Shoko gave a slight nod; her parents, as the healers of the settlement, always seemed to get busier when the seasons changed.

“I’ll tell him you’re here,” your friend’s father said, before turning and stepping out of the bakery and up to his home on the second floor.

As the four of you waited for him, your gaze drifted to the cookies on the display trays; now that spring was well underway, some of the seasonal flavors had come back, and you were happy to see them. There were the plain shortbread cookies, as always, but there were others now, too: petal-pink cookies cut carefully in the shapes of the flowers that flavored them filled one tray, while another tray was lined with circle-shaped cookies you knew to be flavored with the same green tea your mother drank in the mornings. You must have been staring harder than you realized, because next thing you knew, Satoru was poking your cheek to get your attention.

“Hungry?” he asked, somewhat teasingly.

You rolled your eyes at his question. “They’re pretty,” you said after a moment. “I like seeing them every year.”

Satoru said nothing, just gave a small hum in response, but he looked up at Kento’s father with a smile once the man returned to the counter, his son trailing behind him. “Nanami-san, I’d like to buy some cookies before we all head out.”

You blinked at him in surprise, not having expected him to indulge you in such a way. He requested five of the sakura cookies and five of the matcha cookies – one of each flavor for each member of your group – and after tilting his head slightly towards his shoulder, as if he were listening to something, he also asked for one regular shortbread cookie.

Once the treats were paid for and wrapped up, Satoru accepted them and led everyone back outside, insisting he had something important to tell everyone.

“I bet it’s not even actually important,” Kento grumbled, though he did easily accept his share of the cookies as they were passed to him. He took a bite out of the matcha one, chewing it carefully and swallowing it before adding, “He just wants to feel important.”

If only you knew, you thought, but you said nothing; you doubted your white haired friend would forgive you anytime soon if you stole his thunder.

The group stopped once everyone reached the large, gnarled maple tree that stood about halfway between the bakery and the schoolhouse. Without any words being exchanged, Satoru sat with his back to the trunk, the rest of you sitting in a half circle in front of him.

“Will you please drop the theatrics now and just tell us already?” Utahime asked, somehow still scowling as she chewed on her cookie.

Letting out a sigh that was very decidedly theatric, the boy relented. “Fine, fine, I suppose I’ve kept you all in suspense long enough.” He cleared his throat, sat up a bit straighter and, with a grin, announced, “I have a dragon.”

Before anyone even had time to call his bluff, Satoru pulled the plain shortbread cookie from the paper packaging, held it up closer to his shoulder, and said, “You can come out now, Kenji.”

Kenji, who apparently had a flare for the dramatic as much as Satoru did, poked his head out of the collar of the boy’s light jacket, then made a beeline for the cookie, climbing onto Satoru’s shoulder and taking the cookie into his mouth once it was within reach.

“You’re welcome,” your friend pointedly told his dragon, when he got no sort of thanks for the treat. Kenji made a suspiciously mocking sound in response, though he never tore his attention away from the cookie he was nibbling on.

Throughout the whole exchange, your friends stared at Satoru and Kenji, eyes wide and jaws slack, as if unable to believe what they were seeing. Knowing you had probably looked very similar when you first saw Kenji, you had to stifle a giggle.

Shoko, who was sitting closest to you, noticed your muffled laughter, and she turned towards you, still wide-eyed. “You knew?” she asked incredulously. “You knew he had his dragon and you didn’t tell us?”

“He would’ve thrown a huge fit if I told you before he did!” you defended.

“My parents wanted Kenji kept a secret at first,” Satoru added, coming to your defense as well.

“But they still knew before the rest of us did!” Utahime cut in. “How is that fair?”

You didn’t have an answer for that, so you turned to Satoru, hoping your white haired menace of a friend had an answer that would satisfy everyone.

“Because they’re Satoru’s best friend,” Shoko said, before the boy could answer for himself. It was clear in the way she emphasized “best friend” that she meant something else, and though you weren’t sure what, you found your feelings were a bit hurt by…whatever the implication was; the confusion and hurt you felt doubled as you watched Shoko, Kento, and Utahime all exchange a knowing glance. You turned to Satoru then, assuming he would be just as confused as you were, but he’d got a bit red in the face, and was very pointedly not looking at you, instead focusing on Kenji as the dragon practically mauled the cookie he’d been given.

“What’s important is that I’m telling you guys now,” Satoru insisted, still failing to meet your eyes, though his gaze did flash in your direction for a brief moment. “Besides,” he added, “he’s not even that exciting yet. All he does is steal my food and pretend he doesn’t understand what I’m saying to him during training.”

Apparently taking great offense at the snowy haired boy’s words, Kenji turned to face Satoru, making a series of displeased noises that were clearly some sort of complaint.

“You know it’s true— ow!”

At first you were shocked as you watched Kenji bite Satoru on the hand, but you relaxed when you realized he hadn’t actually broken the skin, and you laughed at how smug the little dragon looked, clinging to your friend’s arm and holding the cookie in his mouth as Satoru attempted to shake him off in retaliation for the bite.

“How is training going?” Shoko asked curiously, tilting her head slightly and slowly chewing a bite of her own cookie as she waited for an answer. “I’ve seen your teacher in town some, he seems prickly.”

“Yaga-sensei is sooooo boring,” Satoru sighed dramatically, apparently deciding to forgive Kenji for biting him, at least for the time being. “He makes me do the same exercises every day.”

“Do you and Kenji have those exercises learned yet?” asked Kento.

“No.”

“Then that’s why you keep having to do them.”

“But it’s so boring!”

“What’s his dragon like?” you cut in, realizing then that the one time you’d met Yaga, he had not had a dragon with him.

“You mean Panda?” Satoru asked, his brows furrowed slightly as if he were deep in thought.

“He doesn’t have a dragon?”

“Where did he even get a panda, anyways?” Utahime added, her features pinched together in confusion.

“No, he does have a dragon. The dragon’s name is Panda,” Satoru explained with a small smile on his face. “But I agree, it’s a stupid name for a dragon.”

“I’m assuming Panda is black and white?” you asked, trying to steer the conversation away from possibly dissolving into pointless bickering.

“Obviously,” Satoru replied, rolling his eyes. When he caught the way you were scowling at him, though, he straightened up a bit. “Yeah, Panda’s black and white. He does actually look a lot like a panda, it’s weird.”

“Can he fly?” This time Kento was the one to ask.

“I don’t think so? He doesn’t have any wings, at least, and I’ve never seen him fly.”

As the rest of your friends tossed questions at Satoru about his training, about Yaga, about Panda, just trying to get a feel for how much of his life had changed in the last couple of months, you were more than happy just to listen, but you looked down when you felt something on your leg.

Unnoticed by everyone else – including Satoru – Kenji had made his way across the space between where he and his rider sat, all the way over to you, who he had apparently deemed a better companion for the time being.

You watched with a smile as the dragon steadily made his way up your leg, and you offered him your hand to give him a more direct path to your shoulder. That seemed to be all the invitation he needed, and he quickly scampered up your arm, settling on your shoulder as he finished the last piece of the cookie he’d been given earlier.

After the dragon settled down in his new spot, you made an effort to move as little as possible, not wanting to jostle or upset him at all. You still weren’t sure why Kenji had taken a liking to you specifically and nobody else – besides Satoru, of course – but you tried not to question it too much; he didn’t seem to want anything from you, nor did it seem like he wanted to cause you problems, so you were content to let him seek you out whenever he saw fit. You may not have met your own dragon yet, but having caught the attention of your friend’s solid color dragon made you feel special.

Deep down you also hoped maybe it was a sign that you would meet your own dragon soon, and that maybe you’d be lucky enough to bond with a rare, special dragon, like Kenji.

for those of you who made it this far, first of all i want to say thank you for sticking around for the chapter updates! second, i want to let everyone know i'm going to be taking a break from this fic for a bit. i'm not sure how long, so i'm not going to give a time frame, but i literally frustrated myself to tears at least half a dozen times while writing this chapter, so i need to take a step back for a bit, before i frustrate myself to the point of fully giving up on this fic. i love this au, i want to keep writing this fic, but right now i need a break. i hope you'll all still be around when i'm ready to come back to it 💜

Haruno Sakura and misogynistic ass fandom

sakura haruno is one of the most hated chareters in naruto with her hate being so comically massive that it surprised the creator himself... but why ? what went wrong with sakura ?

I, in particular ,am not a fan of the way kishimoto wrote women in the manga or how shonen in general potrays female charechters. But the thing with sakura and misogyny is that it has more to do with the fandom than the author ,and if you ask me ,compared to how demented the fandom is ,kishimoto practically looks like a feminist icon . character criticisms dont bother me, but in the curious case of sakura alot of this “criticism” spirals down to very abbhorent misogyny.

starting right of the bat we have the dude-bros and self-projecting psycho's of the fandom, who hate her cause she's a shallow bitch(their main male charecter-onto whom they project- is a serial attention seeker btw , with being popular his main incentive in life) who likes the popular , good-looking guy and doesnt pay heed to the nice guy's advances dattebayo , no kidding -

i found it difficult to wrap my head around how this utterly gross misogynistic nonsense is so fucking common , it seems that sakura might have triggered their deep down incel by daring to want sasuke -and this also happens to be the reason why hinata is so popular amongst that particular crowd -because unlike that shallow bitch who rejected our nice guy, hinata worshiped his tiny err.."naru-chan"

these wankers' try to paint hinata as the submissive waifu prototype (erasing even her little canon qualitites we get to see to fulfil there deraged fantasies) and just to cope with the fact that sakura rejected naruto , but err he got the plastic doll waifu , so all is well. they dont end it here though , they go on to elaborate how miserable and sad sakura's life and is that this is what she deserves for "choosing the emo" over the nice guy , while naruto apparently had a better ending for himself by "scoring" hinata .

the next slandering is surprise! surprise! -sakura's looks

because y'know naruto just had some dirt in his eye when he calls sakura cute. or even when making a remark on how incredibly beautiful haku is, sakura is the objective female beauty standard he compares him to, and the true hidden beauty in the series is hinata imao(the one whose been called weird, plain and crumpy throughout canon) or the inferiority at sakura's rejection and sasuke's obvious superiority to naruto is curbed by hyping up naruto's own looks saying (based on anime filler nonsense) that naruto "gets princess" and sasuke gets normal girls , while throughout the manga the only girl that shows any sort of romantic/sexual interest in naruto -is hinata (and the reason why she likes naruto has little to do w looks) , thats it , even when he becomes the messiah of the hidden village by making pain revive everyone-no girl is interested in him (I adore Kishimoto for doing this and not sticking to the sexist bs of these shallow bitches like our underdog nice guy only when he become popular GRR..GRR.., except for princess byakugan ofc- thennnn lo and behold ,studio peirriot uses this misogynist ass trope in "naruto:the last" , there is only a limit to keep rejecting you deranged fanbase i guess, sometimes one must comply for money)

what is also curious is kishimoto doesnt comment anything on sakura's chest throughout the manga -he does add a panel of naruto's smol pp,and how naruto is insecure about it -NO one in canon says anything about anyone's bosom (excpet that creep jiraiya, but even he spares underage girls) and sakura almost never mentions any insecurity related to her boob size , she is insecure that she has big forehead, she is (perhaps) insecure about her weight that is why she skips her meal. heck even sai the roaster toaster with awfullly bad social boundries doesnt comment on it, but guess what? the fandom and SP does infact SP made a fucking full filler episode which is just sakura wanting big boobs and the comparisons of boobs from various koinichi's ranging from Tsunade, to tenten and ino, to shizune!)

why is this "boob measuring" so unique to sakura(and hinata -ill perhaps make a post on this sometime) why is no other female charecter subjected to this gross misogyny weird boob measuring contest,despite sakura not being the only girl who is flat chested- Tenten , Mikoto Uchiha and Shizune? well for one none of them has outright any interactions on level with naruto , second they dont irk anyone is any way - mikoto is also reduced to the trad sub wife prototype(she is what you'd say harmless, unlike the boisterous sakura, she is soft spoken , tends for the males areound her and doesn't err stand out), tenten and shizune are not even present in the narrative often and when they are , their words wrt to naruto are "safe" - they dont insult the main character , dont reject him dont make him look inferior so their boobs and body are spared

I can't believe someone actually wrote Sakura hate on my Nami defending post. Anyone who knows me would shriek in horror. I'm so enraged I've tried and failed to begin this post about a million times now.

While I find it a massive failure of a person's quality of intelligence and character to hate on misogynistically-written characters using the exact same language as the larger misogynistic fanbase who also hates them, despite thinking of themselves as somehow different, in general... when it comes to Haruno Sakura at this point if you're out here on the internet in 2024 saying negative things about her in random comment sections I genuinely think you're a clueless idiot and I hate your stupid guts. lol

The online mania of Sakura hatred left it's fucking mark on people who grew up as girls watching Naruto. I honestly wasn't a very online kid, so I only know about that from my friends' experiences, but how the show itself treated her left it's mark on me all on it's own. And I can see the legacy of that mania online now! Anything that so much as mentions female characters, or sexism, or annoying characters, in anime, will get mean comments about her. It's still here and it's infuriating!

Everyone should be able to separate the bigoted writing that can make a character unpleasant, and the character itself. Otherwise one just ends up contributing to the wave of hatred from bigoted fans. That always ends up hurting real people!

The widespread out-sized fervent hatred of Sakura is particularly something there is no excuse to continue to add to. At this point she represents so much more than a specific character. She symbolizes the continuation of a fucked up online culture that directs their ire at female shounen characters instead of the men who wrote them into horrible little boxes.

So, I don't even have to defend her actual character. It's not really about that. I'm going to anyways though. Because I love her to pieces and so much said about her is just slander.

Sakura fucking rules and is a compelling sympathetic character with a good arc, she was just written by a man who hates women and takes every single opportunity to put his female characters in their place. (The fucking background, kitchen, or grave.) Sometimes all three in that order!

Sakura's worst crime is being a 12 year old Girl. She's insensitive, as 12 year olds can be. She's hyper-conforming to hetero-feminine roles, as her society expects her to be, and she's over-the-top and embarrassing about it, because she's 12.

In the beginning she's often weak and scared in the background, because that's the box she was put into as The Girl. If she had gotten to have equal capability with her teammates early on then Kishimoto wouldn't have been able to focus totally on the male characters he actually cared about. To blame her for that instead of sympathizing with the angst it caused her is so heartless and backwards.

All the writing involving Sasuke fucking sucked, and Sakura's the biggest victim of that. The whole "charm" of their "romance" is that she'll stand by him and love him no matter how terribly he treats her. Does that not sound fucking familiar. It is some of the most basic misogyny there is. That is an age-old evil expectation put on countless women, not a cute story. Hating their "romance", but expressing it by blaming her for being put into that role by Kishimoto is so fucking stupid.

(Also, it's so, so, easy to interpret her hyper performative heterosexuality as closeted lesbianism. She's so unintentionally gay-coded, especially her relationship with Ino.)

It very much happens silently in the background, because I think Kishimoto will spontaneously start choking on his own blood if he tries to focus on a female character instead of his male faves for more than a single minute, but Sakura does have a good arc! Remember Inner-Sakura? She was treated as just a gag, but if you take her seriously for a second you'll realize it was actually deeply disturbing.

Sakura was repressing her anger and goofiness, because she was trying so hard to be this want-able, feminine girl. It wasn't just her unspoken thoughts, she had a whole alternate personality tucked away because of the trauma of being a girl in a sexist society.

Ino describes it here as "A whole other psyche" and is so disturbed by it she asks her, "What are you?"

The most interesting, satisfying thing about Inner-Sakura is: She goes away. She goes away after Sakura trains under a strong, successful, funny, angry, loud woman. Tsunade helps Sakura express her anger instead of repressing it, just by being near her, she shows her the kind of woman she can be. She encourages her and teaches her to be strong and shows her it's okay to be mad. Now when Sakura is angry she can yell and punch a mountain into dust about it.

It's very much in the background, but it happens. And it's everything. How could you not care about it, once you notice it? How can you not care about her?

One of the most annoying things people say about Sakura is that she became strong out of nowhere. I think those people just weren't paying fucking attention to her lol.

Not to mention, if Naruto and Sasuke can each get super-powered Sannin to train them personally, why can't Sakura? What's wrong with that? She wanted desperately to keep up with them, to be strong enough to protect them, and she knew exactly who to go to. Why wouldn't you root for her?

So what if there's nothing that makes her special, to those who only care about genetic abilities and tailed beasts. She works hard. She fights tooth and nail. There's a reason she gets along so well with Rock Lee. In Kakashi's words, "Like Naruto, Sakura possesses a heart that cannot bear to be beaten." In Sakura's:

God, just. How can you not be obsessed with her? It's not her fault the sexist mangaka couldn't let her keep developing on-screen for more than one chapter per 30 volumes without actually grappling with the fact that there's a third person in his stupid two person narrative. She's so fucking great she's crazy she's rude she's funny she's audacious she has guts!!!!!!!!!!! You absolutely cannot come into my space with a negative word on her name. Love and respect Haruno Sakura or simply die.

been seeing far too much chunin exams arc slander lately... now i do think it's generally lauded for the wrong reasons but i also think that arc is one of the series' highest peaks. it literally has everything like of course it could have just been a hollow display of cool powers but every chapter is infused with some deeply troubling state dogma, showcases the casual dehumanization of shinobi and the hierarchy in who matters and who doesn't. it's such a huge reality check when we realize one of the only adult figures we as readers have grown to trust is responsible for sending our 12-year-old protagonists to their potential deaths, that he is complicit in the system even if he attempts his own (ultimately ineffectual) personal protest against it. it's also like the only arc where team 7 has settled into their dynamic and we get to see how close the three of them have become and how much they trust each other. and on the whole it expands on the nrt world in a really interesting way... we get to learn about the different villages, konoha's most powerful clans, characters who normally get little focus (the konoha 12 and even sakura) are fleshed out here. i'm just baffled by people saying it's not anywhere near naruto's best?? bffr which other arc has all of that

#to me it is top 3. sorry #in no order my top 3 are chunin exams. land of waves. and sasuke vs itachi (mostly the aftermath though). ie i have impeccable taste #rip to land of iron showdown though. could have been great #naruto #naruto meta

One thing I hate about many SNS fics (obviously not all, but too many) is how they suck up to Sakura and Hinata. Hinata is always some sweet girl Sasuke is unfair to, and Sakura is voice of reason bestfriend girlboss (Sakura = voice of reason = lmao). I also hate when they write Naruto and Sasuke fuck them.

A lot of very popular SNS fic writers wrote Sakura and Hinata as good women, interesting women, smart women, strong women, desirable women, women who deserve 'justice' or 'reparation'. Sakura will never be fit to become hokage, she sucks. There. Lol. Sakura is the best friend/wingman of the boys, especially Naruto. Sakura as a wingman of Naruto. Lol. It's clear they can't write Sakura in character because they don't know her character. And if anyone tries to please their readers by writing something they don't believe in, but write it anyway and hence tarnish Naruto and Sasuke's characters and gay narratives as a result, well it's their problem and it will be pointed out. Not having a strong belief system or self respect is one of the major character traits of both Sakura and Hinata. Lol. I mean this only if they are claiming to be canon compliant and shit. That's when it's annoying. Otherwise, fans write all sorts of stuff, it's meant for comfort and pleasure mainly. It cannot be looked at from the lens of a genuine story enthusiast. And yes, it does involve a lot of cruel misrepresentation, but well, it's a fandom, it's a murky area to be hardlining.

However, good thing is, fanfic space has a built in tag system which facilitates people to find their interests. But it is misused and how. Damn. Like I am sorry, just being anti someone does not mean you get the character right. A lot of SNS fans do Sakura slander based on headcanons which is not fair. But they are also rare in comparison to what NH and SS fans do, and at what scale.

I have almost stopped with fanfics. No matter how much I filter, it doesn't matter. Many 'genuine' SNS tags are smokescreens for terrible writing and worse characterisation. Lots of popular SNS, NS authors are just plain wrong about Naruto and Sasuke's characterisations. One of them thinks Naruto is Hinata apparently, who cannot finish a sentence to Sasuke without saying um and rubbing the back of his neck like a thousand times. Seriously, on every page, it's ridiculous. The other one thinks Sakura buttfucked Sasuke and they are friends. Oh and sometimes, Sakura is lesbian. Sometimes with Ino, another super straight girl. Talk about a cheap and uninspired escape. Grabbing the low hanging fruit is always easier. Heh.

I used to tolerate it before. I can't give a shit anymore. I don't care who I offend. There are enough fans in SNS fandom whose understanding of both Sasuke and Naruto leaves much to be desired. The more time spent in Naruto fandom only makes you more cynical of people's attitudes towards media and homosexuality. Lol, sometimes it looks like the dark ages here. The filth..

Naruto is special. It's a personal affront to me when my boys or by association, Sakura and Hinata are mischaracterized. By anyone. Shit is wrong on many levels. It's bad. So I have stopped going there. Most of them are straight people writing gay characters and narratives without having any idea how it even works in their given universe. Not worth it.

You'll be the first to admit, you feel a little silly walking through the doors to the dance academy with a bright red bouquet of roses and chocolates in your hands. With each passing minute, it's beginning to look more like a valentine's gift than a welcome hamper to you.

You just hope your new assistant likes KitKats.

Quickly, you make your way to the first floor of the building that houses a small room where Jimin has set up his "office." No one knows why he needs it, but the man's adamant about maintaining the space and has even started talking about hiring a manager for it, lately, so you all let him be.

As you near the room, you can already hear muted sounds of laughter emerging from the place, accompanied by high pitched giggles that obviously belong to Jimin.

“...and if he gets super famous in the future, you can always go back to working as his backup dancer again, right?”

The voice is one you have never heard before, so you can only guess that it must belong to Yeji, the new hire under Jimin’s team.

Sakura laughs in response and you see her shoulders jumping from behind when you reach the room. “If Jimin lets me off, sure! But I don’t think he will.”

“Absolutely not. You’re my gem!”

Your eyes meet Jimin’s squinted ones over Sakura’s shoulder, and he waves at you with another giggle.

“And here comes my other gem!”

The seven people gathered in the room turn to you, with Sakura and Somi parting to make way for you to stand between them, while Taehyun and Beomgyu wave at you from their seats on the other side of the room. You nod at them all, quickly focusing on the two new excited faces seated at Jimin’s table.

And, damn, your breath sure catches for a moment. What’s up with Jimin somehow always managing to find the most beautiful people on the planet to hire? Both the girl and the guy look like they could be on magazine covers. They’re dressed pretty casually – with the guy wearing track pants and a hoodie and the girl some washed jeans and a tank top, but they still manage to carry themselves like runway models, sheesh.

When your eyes meet theirs, they are immediately jumping up and bowing to you in respect, and you do the same. The girl, you notice, has a bouquet of tulips in her hands while the guy’s hands are empty.

Jimin tells them your name and they say theirs back.

“Uh, should we address you as Leader Y/N?” Yeji asks with a small grin, and Taehyun snorts in response.

You shoot him a quick glare and nod at the girl. “You can address me with whatever feels comfortable for you.”

“Yeah, but don’t go around screaming her name, she’s older than you both,” Jimin announces with a smirk, making your eyes widen in horror.

Keeho, Taehyun and Beomgyu had been very adamant with titling you “noona-nim” and being extraordinarily formal around you during your initial interactions. And – look. It’s not that you’re weirded out by it…okay, maybe you’re a little weirded out? You basically just don’t appreciate how them being all formal with you due to your age creates an obvious divide between you and others when you’re all supposed to be dancers that work together.

It took you a week to get Keeho to stop doing it and literal months to get Taehyun and Beomgyu to greet you without bowing ninety degrees every time. So, now—

“You guys can absolutely do that, please don’t listen to Jimin,” you are quick to announce. “He just loves to torment me. We’re all equals here, let’s save time and not to be too formal, okay?”

The two smile a little at that but you can see their shifty eyes which are a clear indication of their unwillingness to drop the formalities. You turn to Yeonjun then, and forward the package in your hands towards him.

“Welcome to the hip-hop team, Yeonjun!”

His mouth parts and eyes light up when they fall upon the bright red box. “This is… for me?”

You laugh. “Of course! A small gift to make you feel welcomed.”

He graciously accepts it with a bow, still looking awestruck. “Thank you, Leader Y/N.”

Okay, that title doesn’t exactly feel very comfortable to you either, but if it is what these guys wanna address you with, you’re gonna allow it.

“So, how about we show these guys the different classrooms and our choreography room?” Jimin announces with a clap, and you all follow through.

You guide Yeonjun down the stairs and to the choreography room first.

“So, you’re from SNU?” you ask him with a smile and he nods with wide eyes.

“Uh, yeah. Dance major. I was one of the cursed ones that graduated in 2020, but… I had a dance crew that I worked with for four years so my credits were good enough.”

“I’ve heard a little about it. Somi was part of it too, right?”

He smiles. “Yeah. Somi was my second in command.”

“Ah, and you were the leader?” You smirk at him, surprised to see the way his cheeks turn pink as he nods. “What did you do after college?”

“I used to tutor some middle schoolers in my locality,” he easily tells you, sliding his hands into the pockets of his track pants. “But that didn’t pay much so I took up some extra jobs…food delivery, a weekly night shift at a convenience store… that kinda stuff.”

Oh, you understand him so well. It is hard for dancers to keep a steady job that pays well and their passions alive at the same time. This is one of the reasons why you have a massive amount of respect for Jimin’s hard work with this academy.

“Well. That’s all gonna change now.” Flashing Yeonjun a huge smile, you gesture to the huge hall you have entered. “This is the biggest hall at the academy. We don’t have any classes here, just use it to create and film our cover videos.”

He looks around with actual stars in his eyes, rushing into the massive dance hall to inspect the mirrors on two of its walls, and then the smaller break room connected to it.

“This is…so cool…”

You grin at his star-struck expressions when he looks at you again. “Welcome to the family, Choi Yeonjun.”

DONE AND POSTED Sasuke was always jealous of sakura for having a family and thought she never understood his loneliness or what he went through because she wasn't an orphan or from a clan etc. Then he met her family after they were married and all of them were rude to sakura or looked down on her for being a ninja and marrying a "traitor" etc. and they picked on her weight and stuff... and sasuke realised why she was the way she was when they were genin..insecure as he saw her who's usually strong shrink into the small insecure girl she was when she was a genin because of them. Mebuki does all the slandering and badmouths everything about sakura. sasuke thought sakura's dad would defend sakura or smth but he agrees with mebuki. Sakura is sad when she leaves but thinks she's wrong and selfish for not being the perfect daughter they wanted. (maybe introduce a cousin staying with sakura's parents who was also there at the meeting and mebuki talks about her as if she were her daughter...she basically replaced sakura) Combined with:

Hi i know you're busy but when you have time could you do one where sasuke sees that sakura's mother really doesn't like her (sakura) for being a ninja and all that and looks down on what she does. Everything sakura does is wrong in her mother's eyes and her weight is picked on. etc.

Sakura's mother feels that she wasted her time raising "ungrateful" sakura who fell in love with a traitor, basically ran away and got married, became a shinobi and did everything to "shame" the civilian haruno family name. She makes sakura feel like a failure.

In conclusion, sasuke has been very suicidal from the beginning on and probably still sometimes has suicidal thoughts during boruto (out of regret, grief, etc.). sasuke's suicidal ideation has been implied in multiple scenes throughout the whole show, (not only the scenes i've named) which was mainly caused by his yearning for revenge on itachi, his guilt/grief from the loss of his family and the regret of his actions during his teenage years.

My little niece said something so profound the other day. She said— with all her 13-year-old wisdom; that she can’t relate to any female character in Naruto. At all. You see, I’m not fifteen anymore, so all of my animosity towards the female characters in Naruto has relatively died down over the years, mainly because I stopped watching it after the manga has ended. watching the series now objectively is really weird to me. Like… really weird.

There is this wonderful movie called Kill Bill which was directed by Quentin Tarantino. I swear it's one of the best commercial movie which passes the Bechdel Test with flying colours. Theres literally 5 women characters who were written with such a care and flair.

Among them, O Ren Ishii is my All time Favorite woman Character in the entire media. Like I am devoted her to the point of building a Worshipping hall for her. And none of women fight for getting an affection from a Dick. All of them were given such a vibrant personality with 80% of the screentime.

With the way this movie was written, you can even say Quentin Tarantino is a Feminist.

But do you know what he did to his Co Star Uma Thurman in real life???

He quite literally forced her to perform a difficult stunt that could take her life if not careful. And as it happens, she got crashed into a tree that almost killed her.

So, A director who made a movie about woman empowerment has no concern for a woman in real life and was even willing to let her die if that could get his job right????

So Tarantino is not a Feminist that he projected through his movie... At best, He is a wonderful creative artist.

Why just slandering Kishimoto but not those Smutty novel writers or doujinkas????

Anon, I think you are forgetting the basic facts here. Tsunade's original dream was to revolutionize the medical system in Konoha... And she did it successfully. And Tsunade literally carried Dan's and her brother Nawaki's dream to become an Hokage... So, it's very logical for her to see her boyfriend finally becoming an Hokage in a Tsukuyomi Dream.

Wasn't it enough for you that Kishimoto actually made Tsunade as a Hokage for 80% of the series??? Not just a simple Hokage, but a strongest Kage who took literal stabs from Madara and she was the only kage who saved all other kages by lending her chakra (eventhough her body was sliced into half) after Madara knocked them all out???

It was established from the first chapter that fourth Hokage saved the village from Kyuubi and he has some connection with Naruto....

If all the 4 Hokages' faces were carved onto that rock in as early as 1st chapter, I wonder how can the Author make Kushina into another Hokage??? Like how???

Why do you badly want Hinata to have more scenes in a Gay Manga???? Like how does that helps SNS???? Gay media means A media that portrays Love and Relationship between 2 male characters... Kishimoto will do anything if that means that could prop up Naruto and Sasuke... Because this story is about them.

He created Sakura to compare and contrast Naruto's similar feelings towards Sasuke...

He created Hinata to compare and contrast Sasuke's similar feelings towards Naruto...

He created Obito to show how Naruto would've turned out had he lost Iruka and Sasuke...

He created Hashirama and Madara to compare and contrast their similarities and differences with Naruto and Sasuke.

Like everything Kishi does, he does it to serve only Naruto and Sasuke... But why do you want Hinata to change her clan and have prominent role in a manga filled with Gay characters??? Would you be okay if I make strong Male characters in a Lesbian novel and make it all about men??? Why is this insistence that Women needs to be inserted in all the places???

But Claymore, A shounen manga has more strong woman characters than any other Manga... But why nobody is talking about it???

Mario, a manga which was written by Kishimoto himself. He literally made Saori into the MVP of that manga... Like the story won't move if there is no Saori (AKA A female version of Sasuke)... But why nobody is appreciating his work???

Why everything has to be about Hinata and Sakura??? Because they are associated with the Main Characters??? So, A Woman gains her importance only through A Man... I just don't get this Logic.

Here's why I don't think Kishimoto is a Misogynistic Monster, this fandom portrays him to be.

1. He wrote Tsunade, a secondary side character to have a dream that has nothing to do with a Man... Fulfilled it successfully like a boss... Then carried his loved one's dream and truly became an Hokage. While Tsunade was fulfilling a dream after another, Jiraiya was wandering aimlessly... Kakashi explicitly told he doesn't have a dream.

A character to have her own arc... A character to have a solo fight with 2 main villains of this series... (Million times better written than Sakura and Hinata)

2. He wrote Konan, a secondary side character... Only woman Akatsuki member... Had a notable fight with the main villain of this series and almost killed him... (If only he wasn't an Uchiha... he would be dead already)... (She did more than what Hinata did in the entire series)

3. HE WROTE SAORI, A FEM VERSION OF SASUKE.

4. He never sexualized little girls... However he sexualized Sasuke and Sai though.

5. He never idolized Hinata as the ideal woman as the Dudebros wanks for her to be. However, he idolized Saori kind of woman in his works. Which shows he likes women to be strong.

6. His portrayal of women characters in Road to Ninja and Mario is worthy to be noted. Other than Hinata and Sakura, his portrayal of women characters in Naruto is pretty decent.

7. If Kishi made Sakura to feel inferior with Hinata's boobs... Then he also made Naruto to feel inferior with his short ding dong...

8. If Kishi made Kurenai's dad to instruct his daughter to bore him a Grandson, then he also made Hashirama to instruct his clansmen to promise on their Grandsons that they won't kill Madara. Meaning, It's a Pro Natalist comment irrespective of Gender.

9. A culture which promotes Marriage and to have kids... Tsunade remained single.

10. He literally made Shikamaru to have a draw with Temari in Chunin Exams... He made Temari to protect Shikamaru's ass in the Sasuke retrieval arc... Meaning, Shikamaru and Temari are equals. So, you are calling an Author as a misogynist who created Hetero Couples who are equals... Like DanTsunade, ShikaTema, Mario/Saori, Minato/Kushina (in RTN movie)????

If you want me to say Kishi is a Misogynist, then all the above 10 points shouldn't exist...

Kishimoto could've easily wrote Hinata to have more scenes like changing her clan and whatnot + A Big boobed bimbo + An Ideal Waifu whose only job is to satisfy Naruto + Naruto living happily with his beautiful but a bimbo wife... This version of Hinata's portrayal would have made me tag this author as a shitty misogynist...

But that's not the case...

Considering his positives cancels out the negatives... He should be deemed as a neutral instead of tagging him as Negative.

One thing that I dislike about his character arc is that he died

Not only because I like him, really, but because dying means he refused reality in some way AND got no real consequences over his actions

He went to heaven(?) with Rin, the person he loved the most in all his life, and she doesn't hate him (I still think Rin is more merciful than God) after all he had done

Isn't his character supposed to accept reality and face the fact his actions do have consequences?

Hello, anon.

Before I begin talking about Obito, I want you to look at this post here because it addresses WHY Rin forgave him and never hated him in the afterlife after all he's done.

Just give it a quick read and it should provide some proper understanding in regards to Obito's character and the way she feels about him.

Now then, let's talk about Obito:

Anon, we shouldn't forget that Obito was going to die either way, regardless of whether he gets to suffer consequences or not. As soon as the husk of Juubi was extracted, he was bound to die one way or another. He was going to remain paralyzed and in a permanent coma if it weren't for Naruto healing him with his newfound powers from the Sage of the Six Paths. But even with that, he was still going to die. His time was very short and he had to make the most out of it.

*picks up paper* Tackling your allegation that Obito has "refused reality in some way and got no consequences" by dying - I would like to say that this is untrue because Obito in fact, REMARKABLY LOST to the reality of the world he very much tried to destroy.

He would've escaped reality and suffered 0 consequences if his plans actually worked. But no, he ended up getting defeated.

Also, here are the following consequences that he suffered for being a criminal: -He's hated by the rest of the world, and the only people that respect and appreciate his efforts, and know of his efforts, are Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura. They're the only witnesses to his attempt in redeeming himself. Everyone else was stuck inside their eternal dreams and they failed to see Obito awaken and choose to fight alongside Naruto and save the world. They failed to see that he's the one that betrayed Madara again and saved Naruto's life.

-He lived the life of a war criminal with a costly ambition, and achieved nothing. I mean, come on, anon. Seriously, who would want to spend 20 years of their life plotting, controlling, killing, sacrificing - all for the sake of what they think is "the greater good", only to end up being played like a puppet? He was 31 years old, and he achieved nothing because he was manipulated from the start. Even if he did survive, he doesn't even get to be the Hokage. He's simply a lost cause. Isn't that a fitting end for a criminal like him?

-No legacy. Obito left nothing behind but a trail of corpses and traumatizing memories. The only ones who did get to see his good side towards the end are Team 7. But he didn't leave anything behind for the future generation to live by; all he did was play a role in saving the world by sacrificing himself to save his old friend and ensure that Naruto would be the one to carry on his lost dream.

I'd also like to note that the way he died was pretty fucked up. He didn't get to be buried. Like, he didn't even fucking die in the land he was born in the entire time - he only has his name engraved on a big stone (after Kannabi), and he died in a whole other dimension; the same dimension that Kaguya was sealed in. Seriously, even his death was just depressing - he crumbled into fucking ash. And just as he was disintegrating, Black Zetsu was literally slandering the shit out of him (I found it hard to watch because damn), and even after he crumbled, he was still getting slandered.

Sure, he wasn't getting called out by the alliance (they actually wanted him executed after he got the Juubi extracted from him), but still - imagine just getting called names right before you're about to turn into ash... like it's just so fucked up. His entire character is just so tragic and depressing.

Lastly, to address your question - he did accept reality. He told Naruto that there will be more suffering on the way. He literally lost to the real world - and his death is an acceptance of that. He too, admitted that his fucked up death is fitting for the criminal that he is.

So no anon, he did not refuse reality - he embraced it.

Day 2 of Tekken 8 Demo

I just played the Tekken 8 demo again, this time mostly playing as Kazuya (as well as Jin and Nina for a bit). Kazuya has some special intros/interactions with Jun and Shaheen (Jun's determination to save Kazuya from his darkness and trauma; Shaheen wanting to avenge his friend like "you took everything from me" and kaz just looks at him like "i don't even know who tf you are"))...but why doesn't he have any special intros/outros/win poses with Nina, Asuka, Azucena, or Paul?!

>Azucena is pretty much probably his only ally (because Anna, Bruce, and Lucky Chloe are not in this game). Although Eddy Gordo was also cut from this game too, I guess Shaheen may as well be his replacement in a way (damn do e-sports players hate Eddy for losing to spam and cheese in player matches/ranked matches that much to the point where he got that joke ending in Tekken 7 and now he won't even be in Tekken 8?!).

>Paul was his OG rival back in the day before of course he keeps getting defeated by fucking Kuma (the blondie cocky extroverted rival who wants to be the best, you know like Sasuke vs Naruto or Ryu vs Ken).

>Coming to think of it, Jin Kazama also does NOT even have any special intros or win quotes with either Asuka or Nina. Like I was thinking Jin would be sad or angry about being betrayed again by someone (first Heihachi in Tekken 3, now Nina in Tekken 8...also Jin saved Nina from being brainwashed by Ogre in Tekken 3 and worked alongside him in Tekken 6, so her betrayal should sting). Also maybe Nina is perhaps actually just simply doing something similar to her role in Street Fighter X Tekken, maybe she's just secretly spying for Jin (and a special intro between her and Kaz would hint at this).

>Also once again Asuka being shafted and pushed to the side, like seriously no special intro for her with Jin or Kazuya?! It's disappointing because in her character episode with Lili, Lili mentions her being related to Jin and by extension the Mishima bloodline so she's worried that her friend (*cough* *cough* girlfriend) might get dragged into the whole Mishima conflict. So I was thinking okay surely Bandai Namco is building up to her finally being relevant in the next game right? I always had this theory in my mind that maybe perhaps why Asuka Kazama is treated like some comic relief side character ever since Tekken 6 is possibly all the backlash and hate she got from both Japanese and western Tekken fans for replacing Jun Kazama when she was introduced in Tekken 5. Same reason why Hinata Hyuga from Naruto gets so much love and favoritism from Studio Pierrot and the Naruto fandom (especially Japanese fans) over Sakura Haruno, and why Rosalina gets more attention than Daisy in the Mario Franchise lately (especially when Rosalina got into Super Smash Bros before her and Rosalina was also in Mario Strikers: Battle League at launch but not Daisy). Maybe it's because some fans strongly prefer the more feminine and introverted female characters over the confident tomboyish brash female characters. Of course these sentences are NOT meant to blame or slander Jun, Rosalina, or Hinata because I like all three of them as characters. It's just some coincidence I noticed.

>Although I do actually really like Steve's whole interaction with his mom Nina. Steve doesn't want to hurt his mom and even says that she is the last person he wants to fight, and Nina telling him to get out of here in her outro. I always thought Nina was cold to her son for similar reasons why Jin wants to live a solitary life, out of pure fear that Steve might get dragged into the either the Mishima conflict or her rivalry with Anna (ex. Anna Williams might kidnap him or something), she's just simply trying to protect her son in a way.

Anyways that's just my silly thoughts for now.

Latest Boruto chapter has Shikamaru singing praises on Ino and being thankful since he wouldn't know what they'd do without her, Sakura stans on twt have taken to either sulking or slandering Ino as much as possible, mostly stupid stuff like how how she's 'mid' looking and Sai's the only guy desperate enough to marry her. The salt is strong. Rest of the chapter is boring, though Hokage Naruto somehow not having the code to override and enter Konaha's super lab is a new kind of stupid for him.

Sakura's stans are just like her, resentful and envious of other women they see as a threat. Sakura even taught her brat to keep Ino away from her husband and taped herself over Karin. Sai is gay sure, but at least he's home and tolerates Ino's presence, can't say the same about Sasuke "why are you here" Uchiha. Ino has always been able to work well with her team, unlike Sakura who constantly needed rescuing. Ino is also a good friend, unlike Sakura. So no wonder she's more useful than Sakura.

(1/4) Hi there! first of all i want to thank you for the translation of ZZH video, I was really surprised when I saw the updated and the subs helped me understand the situation better. I've been a woh fan for a while now, but I've never really followed GJ or ZZH outside of that context, and only very recently (and by chance) came to learn about everything that happened to ZZH. There are some things I'm still trying to understand, because I'm very confused about some aspects of the situation

Hi! No problem, I'm happy to answer your questions about this.

So I assume you know that Zhehan was essentially banned from China internet over the supposed photos at Yasukuni Shrine, all his works have been deleted or at least his name has been removed from the credits. Even now, posting anything with his name, face, or voice on China's social media platforms will result in your post being deleted, or your account being suspended.

Gradually, it became clear that the entire thing was pure slander. There is a whole list of things he was accused of that were all false. For example, the park that he took photos in were part of the standard route for admiring the sakura blossoms in Japan, recommended by China government media, and an old lady he took a photo with is Dewi Sukarno, not Dewi Suharto, and the public was misled because the Baidu entry (kinda like China's wikipedia) was maliciously edited.

In November 2021, a famous director and producer named Li Xuezheng started questioning the circumstances around Zhehan's cancellation and took Zhehan's side. His main beef was with an association called China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA), which is NOT an official government organisation although it had misled the public to think that it was, and CAPA was the one that had called for Zhehan's cancellation. Mr Li was subsequently muted, and his account was banned completely in April 2022.

The rest of things I'm going to state here are facts, as objective as I can:

1. CAPA has an exclusive collaboration with a talent management agency called Haixi Media, and Gong Jun is under Haixi, with his mum holding 16% of shares in the company.

2. Since August 2021, Gong Jun has repeatedly used Zhehan's elements to sell products he endorses, such as quoting Zhehan's previous interviews, having events to do with 511 (Zhehan's birthday is 11 May), and vague-posting in a way that real-people shippers have interpreted as confirmation that he is really in a romantic relationship with Zhehan. He has also, for some reason, used Zhehan's childhood photo in place of his own in an interview programme. It is clear now that he did not obtain Zhehan's permission for any of that.

3. Zhehan and his family and friends have been the victims of vicious cyber-bullying since August 2021. Some of this has been led by paid influencer accounts, but a lot of those participating are also Gong Jun's fans. Note that the same influencer accounts (called yin xiao hao, or yxh) that are slandering Zhehan are also praising Gong Jun.

4. Gong Jun is known for buying "water armies", basically like bots and zombie accounts, to boost his own follower and engagement count on China social media. (It's really obvious when you scroll through his comments and they all say the same thing, posted at the same time ^^;)

5. As of now, Zhehan has filed a police report for defamation, but we don't know anything about the progress of the case, and Zhehan is obviously not obliged to tell us anything.

6. Zhehan has stated that any interaction he had with Gong Jun was for work only, and even then they have had no interaction since June 2021.

This is the gist of it, and I think like Zhehan says, time will tell. For now, we can only wait to see if there are any further developments on Zhehan's case, and in the meantime leave the poor guy and his family alone.
