So! Ghosts are nowhere near an Unknown Threat.
In fact, Ghosts and Creatures of the Realms have been attacking the Human World, preforming Raids on Amity Park, and stealing valuable objects and human food for just as long as they have been around. And they have been around for a while.
They first came into the Human Realm centuries ago, and so far Humans have been able to adapt.
Ghost Hunters are some of the most respected members of the Community. There are many different groups of them, and of these Groups the Fenton Family has always been one of the most famous and well credited of the lot.
They have been Hunting Ghosts since the days of their Ancestor, Jackson Fenton-Nightingale, who was the first of their lineage to change from Witch Hunting to Ghost Hunting.
In the modern age, Jack Fenton and his wife Maddie Fenton are some of the most respected Hunters in Amity. They have captured and killed more Ghosts and Realms-Beasts than anybody in the History of their Family. They have pioneered the new age of Ecto-Tech, bringing better and more effective weapons to the masses. They have singlehandedly managed to contain the Ghost Threat to the State of Illinois, and Amity Park in general. They are truly some of the Greatest Heroes of the Era.
The same cannot be said for their son.
Daniel Fenton has always been, well, Lacking, when compared to his Family.
He didn't inherit his Father's natural Musculature, nor his Mothers Prowess in Martial Arts, and while he is definitely an extremely intelligent boy, he does not measure up to the Intellect that the other members of his Family often achieve.
Even his sister, Jasmine Fenton, shows more promise than he does, and she isn't even a Ghost Hunter. Instead she devoted her life to becoming a therapist who can help those who have been affected by Ghost Attacks.
But Danny? He has never really showed much promise. He is definitely eager to prove himself to his Parents, but he never manages to help out in the field. Most of the time he even makes it worse.
And for Danny? It's infuriating! He has spent all his life trying to live up to the legend of his Family, trying to become a worthy Son. But he never succeeds.
He has made Tons of Inventions to help defeat Ghosts, but they were all thrown out because they were Non-Lethal. They always said that any Ecto-Weapon worth the materials it's made out of should end the Ghost before it has a chance to escape, so capturing them without killing them would be worthless.
But he wants to prove that his efforts are not in vain, if not to his family, than to himself.
So one night, as a particularly nasty Ghost Attack is going on, he rushes outside with a Weapon of his own Design. It was a Stun Gun, designed to hit the Ghost with a Beam of Pure Paralyzing Energy that would render it Immobile for hours. It was slightly large and bulky, but it still worked. At least, theoretically it did. He hadn't had a chance to test the Stun Gun yet, hence his little adventure.
He ran to the edge of Town, and tried to find a Ghost worth capturing.
Blobs? No, they've been caught before. Catching one wouldn't earn him any praise.
Skeleton? Those are a single tier up from Blobs, and not by much at all. Definitely not.
Ecto-Pus? Maybe, but it wouldn't be too useful for learning anything since it can't speak.
Spirits? They are the manifestations of Human Emotion, stronger than most other types of Ghosts, and they are suspected to be Intelligent. That's a good choice, it would probably be the best choice.
But there was one better. An Ancient.
The Ancients were the Ghosts that had been around for Centuries, possibly Millenia. They are Ghosts that are so Old, they have developed true Intelligence. Nobody had ever managed to kill an Ancient, they were too strong. The Ancients are the most Deadly, most Powerful, most Dangerous of all Ghosts.
If Danny managed to Capture one? He would skyrocket to Fame! He would be able to sit at the Lunch Table with the A-Listers, the town would stop seeing him as a disappointment, and his Parents would be so Proud of him! They might even come out of the Lab outside of Ghost Attacks to spend time with him!
So, he sat at the edge of town, watching the Portal that had opened up about a Mile outside of the City. He needed to be ready, in case an Ancient showed up.
Hours passed, and he was getting sleepy, when it happened.
"Ancient!"
The scream of warning came from his Radio, tapped into the Ghost Watch Channel used to keep track of Ghost Movements during attacks.
He looked at the Invasion Portal, and saw it. It was Humanoid, about 7 ft Tall, wearing Dark Plated Armor, with a Flaming Green Sword at its hip. Trying to stare into it's Face felt like staring into an Abyssal Void, with 2 pinpricks of Red denoting where its Eyes would be. The same Red Eyes all Ghosts had.
"Retreat! Retreat! The Fright Knight has emerged from the Invasion Portal!" Came the warning from his Radio. In the distance to his right, he could see the few Hunters who had been keeping watch on the Portal run to the safety of the Town.
Shaking off his fear, Danny rushed to his Target.
The Fright Knight was the most Feared of the Ancients, nobody had ever survived an encounter with it. There were even Rumors that it was the Leader of the Ghost Attacks, the coordinator.
And Danny knew that his Stun Gun wouldn't be enough to beat it. Not yet anyways.
So, instead of running directly to the Fright Knight, he ran to the small Open-Air Worksite that held his Parents' most Ambitious Creation. An Artificial Ghost Portal.
Years ago, his Parents had realized something. They couldn't stop the Invasion, because the Ghosts could never be cut off at the source. The Portal they used to enter the Human Realm was always a Natural One, it always closed after a few hours, so they had no chance of entering the "Ghost Zone" without immediately getting cut off from the Human World. Thus, they couldn't exterminate the Ghosts at the Source.
But what if they had a Stable Portal?
Then, the Humans could invade the Ghost Zone instead of the Ghosts invading the Human Realm. They would get an Edge in the Centuries old War.
But the Portal didn't work yet. They had been working on it for years at this point, but they had had absolutely no luck in making it functional. As an unintended consequence however, they realized that the Portal Frame was capable of generating Large Amounts of Energy, and it soon became the towns most Powerful Power Plant. It basically powered every home in the City, and powered the Shields that were put up above the Civilain Shelters during Ghost Attacks.
And Danny needed it.
His Stun Gun wasn't powerful enough to defeat the Fright Knight yet, but if he retrofitted it to draw on the immense power of the Portal Frame, it might be enough.
He rushed into the Open-Air Pavillion thay housed his Parents Portal Frame. It was an Immense Creation, semi-circular in shape but large enough that an entire Army could be comfortably Marxhed through.
He ran right to the center of the Device, pulling open a Panel in the middle of the Floor and fiddling around with the Wires for a minute.
It only took a short while before he had the Energy of the Portal Frame retrofitted to power his Stun Gun.
He raised the Weapon, and carefully aimed at the Fright Knight, still walking towards the Town.
He pulled the Trigger. And Everything went wrong.
The Gun didn't fire. Instead, he felt a rumble come from the Machine he was standing on, as lights began to light up on the edges of the Portal Frame. Somehow, he had accidentally rigged the Portal to attempt its activation Sequence when he tried to fire his Weapon.
Obviously, the Ring of activating lights had attracted the attention of the Fright Knight, and it had begun to move in bis direction.
In a panic he tried to fix his mistake. He moved around a few more wires, and tried again, and more lights turned on. He tried again, and suddenly a high pitched sound began to play around him.
He tried one more time, and help his heart leap with joy as his gun finally began to power up. He looked up to see where the Fright Knight was, and felt his elation drop in an instant when he noticed that it had already entered the Outdoor Lab Space.
The next few seconds felt like they took hours. He felt his heart stop as the Fright Knight began to rush forward. It was about to reach him.
Then, his Gun pinged to tell him they it was ready, and he pulled the trigger.
The world around him erupted in green Light as the beam from his Stun Gun fired out with much more force than it was ever intended to handle. The Beam of Light was so wide that it completely encompassed the Towering Fright Knight's form.
But at the same time as the Gun fired, the Portal finished it's attempted activation sequence. And the World turned green for a different reason.
Danny felt billions of volts run through his Body as the Portal activated, his screams being drowned out by the sound of Reality fraying at the seams as the Portal attempted to push through it.
But ultimately the Portal failed. It turned off, just as it was about to break through to the other side. The sudden burst of energy also seemed to affect the Stun Gun, as it blew up at the same moment the Portal turned off.
Danny was launched out of the Portal Frame, landing in the center of his Parents Outdoors Lab, unconscious.
It took nearly an hour before his Parents arrived, looking to investigate the sudden Portal Activation and Explosion. Whatever had happened caused a blackout throughout the entire Town, shutting off Ghost Shields and inciting panic throughout the City, meaning they had to wait hours before they could investigate.
They found Danny laying unconscious in their Lab, and called for someone to help him as they worked on getting Power back to the Town.
When he woke up, Danny was Reprimanded for his actions that night. Nobody believed him when he said that he had beaten the Fright Knight, and since communication went down with the Power, Nobody could confirm that the Fright Knight had actually been pushed back. It was far more likely that nobody had seen it after it entered the town, and it had left with the others when the Portal began to close.
But Danny knew what had happened, so the first chance he got, he escaped out into the woods surrounding Amity Park and began searching for his Target.
It took hours of searching, but eventually he found the Fright Knight, laying on it's side in the dirt.
Danny was elated at first, he had captured am Ancient! But then he took a closer look. He didn't know why, but for some reason he felt odd about the Ghost. He felt confusion, but not his own. Relief, but coming from somewhere else. Hope, but coming from Him. The Fright Knight.
In that moment, he didn't know why, but instead of dragging him back to the City or further restraining him, Danny pulled the Knight up into a sitting position, feeling it would be more comfortable like that.
He turned around for a moment to see if anybody was around, but when he turned back he was met with a terrifying sight. The Fright Knight was standing up, towering over Danny. He looked up to see it's face, and saw that it was glaring at him with an unrestrained rage.
Danny cried out when he was pushed to the ground, landing against a Rock, looking up in terror. The Knight took out his Sword, and before Danny could cry out in fear, it plunged the Sword down.
Into the Boulder next to Danny's head.
When he finally opened his eyes, the Knight was gone, leaving only the cracked rock next to his head and a sense of lingering terror.
In that moment, Danny only felt on things register in his Mind.
Where it's eyes always Green?
...
This got a little out of hand, but I hope you liked it.
The idea is that Ghosts have been attacking the Human Realm for Centuries, raiding the Villages to steal valuables and Human Food, terrorizing the world for years.
Hunters like the Fentons managed to contain them in Illinois, more specifically Amity Park.
Danny is Hiccup in this. He is the wimpy weak little kid that nobody respects because he doesn't live up to his Family Legend.
Fright Knight is Toothless, but instead of helping Danny learn how to ride Dragon, he helps him learn to use his newly found Ghost Powers. (Because I included the Portal scene for a reason, he became a Halfa and seeks out Frighty when he realizes hat he had Ghost Powers. He's kind of the only option after all)
If you didn't guess it, Pariah Dark is the Queen Dragon. He used his power as Ghost King to control every Ghost in the Zone, forcing them to raid the Human World and bring him offerings. He isn't obsessed with taking over the world, he is obsessed with being seen as a God, and Gods need to get Offerings.
When Danny hit Frighty with the Stun Gun, he knocked the Mind Control out of him and Frighty was freed.
From then on it would follow some similar story beats to Httyd, but also different.
Maybe the other Movie's could introduce other Characters? Maybe Freakshow is Viggo from the 2nd Movie?, or Vlad is Grimmle from the 3rd Movie? The Plots could fit as well.
If you want it to be DpxDc, you could say that the JLA thought the situation in Amity was handled and didn't think they needed to assist.
When they learn how bad it actually was they are freaked out. Especially since this was a Centuries Old Conflict that has been happening since before America was even founded.
What do you think?

DP Headcanon- The Ghost Dragon Queen
The dragons in Danny Phantom don’t have much lore to them so I went and made some:
Tiamat is the legendary Dragon Queen who lived in a time before recorded human history. She was the last dragon queen to reign on earth, fighting alongside humans to conquer vast territories. As a fire dragon she was a force of nature on the battlefield and ruled her conquered lands benevolently. But her reign didn’t last long, her second in command- and lover- the infamous Pariah Dark, betrayed and slew her. He took over her empire and hunted dragons into extinction.
Having been such a primally powerful creature, Tiamat was meant to reincarnate- as her brother and sister, Bahamut and Sardior, had. But her desire for revenge for such a cowardly murder had her manifest as a ghost where she waited, watching her kin join her one after the other in the Ghost Zone, until finally Pariah himself arrived. But Tiamat hadn’t anticipated how powerful a ghost he would be nor how quickly he would take over the GZ. After centuries of fighting Pariah, the Ghost Council called upon Tiamat for a last ditch effort to take him down. In preparation, Tiamat found Pariah’s generals and stole their cores- consuming them and gaining their power while also gaining another head. She took on the Ghost King after consuming 4 different elemental Ghost cores.
The battle was long and vicious but in the end, Pariah was locked away. But he had done serious damage to the dragon queen, he had torn off her extra heads, cracked her core and nearly removed it from her body. Tiamat had no choice but to go into a deep comatose-like sleep to recover while her fellow dragons guarded her in her weakened state. Unfortunately, her obsession to get her revenge was never fulfilled as Pariah still existed. But a sliver of her core that had broken off in the battle had managed to reincarnate as she had been meant to, while the rest of her soul remained in the GZ. Centuries later in the living realm, Maven Lockwood was born.
As for the heads that were torn off of Tiamat, an eye was taken from each and made into an amulet- Known as the Eyes of Tiamat. Only two are known to still exist and are in the possession of Aragon and Dorathea, the other two are said to be with Tiamat herself. A rumor had begun to circulate about a fifth amulet, made of Tiamat’s core but as the remaining dragons had gone into hiding to protect their queen- no one knows for sure.

Cavill Characters and their FFXIV classes (imo)
August Walker: Black Mage (magical ranged DPS - Scepters or Staves)
In days long past, there existed an occult and arcane art known as black magic—a potent magic of pure destructive force born forth by a sorceress of unparalleled power. Those who learned to wield this instrument of ruin came to be called black mages, out of both fear and respect for their gift. Yet great power served to corrupt the judgment of mortal man, and so he unknowingly set out upon the path of ruin. Adventurers who take the black will become agents of devastation, capable of annihilating those who oppose them through little more than the force of their will.
Captain Syverson: Warrior (Tank - Greataxes)
On the northernmost edge of Abalathia's Spine exists a mountain tribe renowned for producing fearsome mercenaries. Wielding greataxes and known as warriors, these men and women learn to harness their inner-beasts and translate that power to unbridled savagery on the battlefield. In former times which saw war waged ceaselessly in Eorzea, the warriors featured prominently on the frontlines of battle. With the arrival of peacetime, however, their art has descended into the shadows of obscurity, where it remains to this day.
Mike: Machinist (physical ranged DPS - Firearms)
The war with Dravania rages on, brutal and unrelenting. With no end in sight, the Holy See grows desperate. As her dragoons lay down their lives in defense of their home, Ishgard turns to technology to protect her sons and daughters. Great cannons and ballistas now line the city walls, plucking dragons from the sky.
Following the example of Cid Garlond, who has demonstrated the potency of magitek, the Skysteel Manufactory works tirelessly on the development of advanced armaments. As new and devastating weapons are brought to the fray, a new class of champion arises to wield them―the machinist.
Geralt: Dark Knight (Tank - Greatswords)
The pious Ishgardian clergy guide the flock, and the devout knights protect the weak. Yet even the holiest of men succumb to the darkest of temptations.
None dare to administer justice to these sacrosanct elite residing outside the reach of the law. Who, then, defends the feeble from the transgressions of those meant to guide and protect them?
A valiant few take up arms to defend the downtrodden, and not even the holy priests and knights can escape their judgment. Pariahs in their own land, they are known by many as “dark knights.”
These sentinels bear no shields declaring their allegiance. Instead, their greatswords act as beacons to guide the meek through darkness.
Walter Marshall: Paladin or Gunbreaker (Tank - Sword and Shield/Gunblades)
For centuries, the elite of the Sultansworn have served as personal bodyguards to the royal family of Ul'dah. Known as paladins, these men and women marry exquisite swordplay with stalwart shieldwork to create a style of combat uncompromising in its defense. Clad in brilliant silver armor, they charge fearlessly into battle, ever ready to lay down their lives for their liege. To be a paladin is to protect, and those who choose to walk this path will become the iron foundation upon which the party's defense is built.
The Hrothgar of northern Ilsabard have passed the art of the gunblade from one generation to the next. The weapon itself combines a sword with a firing mechanism, emitting a range of magical effects by utilizing aetherically imbued cartridges. Originally employed by Queen Gunnhildr's personal guard, they were once known as "Gunnhildr's Blades" and differ greatly from the similarly named weapons used in the Garlean Empire.
Charles Brandon: Dragoon (melee DPS - Polearms)
Of all the things that are symbolic of the nation of Ishgard, few are more recognized than the dragoon. Born amidst the timeless conflict between men and dragons, these lance-wielding knights have developed an aerial style of combat, that they might better pierce the scaled hides of their mortal foes. Taking to the firmament as though it were an extension of the land, they descend upon the enemy with every onze of their bodies behind the blow. It is this penetrative power that characterizes the dragoon.

Would you ever consider doing a "full" list of the different Kings/Queens of the infinite realms? Like, Danny lists a lot in Mortified, but I am very curious as to how Tiamat fits in. Obviously it wouldn't be all of them. Infinite and all.
I've sat on this for a while! Sorry about that. This is the list I have of ones that have been mentioned so far in order of when they ruled, with a little blurb about them. Average length of rule is about 500 years.
List of Kings of the Infinite Realms
1. Ti-Amat, also called Tiamat, and Tam-Tum, and Tamtu, and Tehon, and Tet, and Ummu-Hubur, and Pseudo-Naunet, Salt Woman, Great Lady of the Deepest Deeps, Shining One, Mother of Dragons, Brewer of One Thousand Poisons, the First and Great Dragon, She Who Avenges the Death of Abzu, Lady King-God of the Infinite Realms – One of the earliest Kings of the Ghost Zone from Earth-equivalent space. Decided that liminals were to blame for the death of her husband Abzu and hunted them down. Considered decent prior to the death of her husband, later became a tyrant.
2. Gugalana – Oldest commonly-known King. Was ritually married to Ereshkigal, the core of the Infinite Realms. Faded naturally.
3. Enki – Great-grandfather of Inanna. Secured the release of Inanna after her invasion. Ruled for about 200 years. Obsession involved family. Either faded or abdicated following the death of known family members.
4. Osiris – Co-ruled with his wife, Isis. Acted as a Judge during this time as well, but the rules for this were changed after his reign, as this was what made his dispute with Seth escalate. Lost the right to rule.
5. Isis – Ruled independently after Osiris retired. The Core was displeased with this and caused natural disasters to occur during her reign.
6. Imhotep – One of the first Kings to be tested by the Ancients in a formalized, measured way. Didn’t want to be King and only ruled for a few decades. Retired to later become Dr. Hope and run the Duat Hospital.
7. Falcon of the East – Ended by the pretender. Actually from South America, not Asia.

skywings believe that twins that are not firescales are very good luck. they can be considered a good omen for a period of plenty to come, or they can be expected to do something great for the tribe in particular (becoming leaders, inventing something, etc). this means they are usually tutored in the palace and offered jobs by the queen herself, so they do often become great. nightwings believe that twins are bad omens. usually when they’re just normal dragons they’re seen as a sign of bad things to come in the near future, but when they’re mindreaders and/or prophets, they’re believed to be more powerful and having the potential to bring ruin as individual dragons. nightwing twins are usually avoided and treated as pariahs. oftentimes treating them this way leads them to become traitors, fulfilling expectations.
these two were born to a skywing father who was from an older family of good standing, and a lower class nightwing mother. they were born in the sky kingdom and taken to the palace before they hatched, and were under the protection of the queen as dragons to grow into importance. however, at three years old the queen’s shielding of their abilities failed; the nightwings learned that they were seers, and demanded they be returned to the night kingdom, presumably to disappear in some way. nightwings set much more store in the mother’s lineage so it was their belief that the twins belonged to the nightwings. when their demands were not met, a small operation attempted a kidnapping, which while unsuccessful kickstarted the war between the skywings and nightwings, called the Firesight War, which resulted in a siege on the sky palace. the war began in 2351 A.S. and ended in 2355 A.S. the skywings were briefly allied with the mudwings, and the nightwings made some deals with icewings, but they never directly acted in the war. the war was ended when the twins ran away from the palace at 6 years old during the siege, which lasted months, escaping to the ice kingdom with the help of an icewing friend who had previously been schooled in the sky palace as an exchange student. she had a royal animus cousin who the twins convinced to enchant their foresight away, appeasing the nightwings and ending the siege and war. despite the nightwings’ superstitions, the twins’ foresight was never very powerful, but for peace to be a possibility they had to lose it. in negotiations, while newly powerless, the twins had to agree to never take any important jobs and move out of the palace. Eclipse became a farmer on the border between the sky kingdom and rainforest with his parents, eventually marrying a rainwing and having children of his own. Omen jumped between caravans in the desert, and was a mercenary there for a couple of decades, before retiring to his brother’s farm. it was said that Eclipse was an exceedingly kind dragon, known to the few dragons who lived nearby him to be very generous. his fruits were known to be especially sweet, and in the winter he gave them away for free to dragonets. Eclipse’s son went on to become a well known blacksmith, as he appeared to be a rainwing in every way except that he could breathe fire. Omen was long feared in the desert, as he was a gifted killer and knew the land nearly as well as a sandwing. there were stories that he still kept a bit of his foresight and was able to see his victims’ next moves. there was another rumor that he was the father of the skywing princess’ son, who had unusually dark scales, since Omen and the princess did meet at one point. historians agree that these have no real credibility.
the twins were named Lightkeeper and Flamewatcher by their parents, but acquired different names while the war raged. they were very young and didn’t see much of anything, so rumors about what powers they could be acquiring or how they might be used in the war floated around both tribes. nightwings began to call them “Sunbreaker” and “Cloudlighter,” in reference to cataclysmic celestial disasters and lightning storms said to occur at the end of the world. the skywings named them “Sightbinder” and “Windweaver,” in the belief that they would give the tribe strength and clarity and perhaps create something new and beneficial. when they reached maturity and the war ended, they named themselves “Eclipse” and “Omen.”
[id: drawings of six headshots. the first is a young nightwing/skywing hybrid, Lightkeeper, who resembles a nightwing, chubby with a teardrop scale and worried expression. next to him is another young nightwing/skywing hybrid, Flamewatcher, who resembles a skywing, who is somewhat skinny, with a thin, worried face and a teardrop scale. the next two are the same dragons as young adults. Flamewatcher is very tall, Lightkeeper’s beak has become sharper, and both still look a bit worried. they are missing their teardrop scales. the last two headshots are the same dragons as older adults. Lightkeeper, now Eclipse, looks as though he is laughing. he is fat and has a sharp beak. Flamewatcher, now Omen, looks worn. he is frowning and has a scar over his eye. end id]

A Mother Fury
Day three Ectoberhaunt: Mutant vs Cryptid
AO3
“Look, I’m telling you, no way she’s real,” Danny said, making another mark on the map. He had tried, unsuccessfully, to make a normal map of the ghost zone the way a human might. With measurements and cartography, but after discovering the infini-map and exactly why every other map he’d made was always wrong, he’d gone to Clockwork for help.
He was given a rough crash course into ghost mapping and its difficulties and was now tasked with trying to map an unfamiliar area for practice. It was more difficult than he had hoped.
“Why not?” Sam asked, she and Tucker were riding spectre-scooters beside him, carrying extra tools and supplies in case they needed them and a homing medalian in case they got horribly lost and needed to get back home. It was kind of the ghost equivalent of a compass, with Clockwork’s lair as it’s true north.
Tucker took Danny’s side in the argument. “Because it doesn’t make sense! The Mother of Fury? What would she even be? Some kind of Dragon Queen? We’ve already met the Dragon Queen.”
“That’s not what Sam said, Tucker. She’s talking about the Mother of the Furies. Like from Greek myth. And the reason she doesn’t exist,” he looked up from his map to glare at Sam, “is because there’s only three and they’re sisters. The ‘Mother’ is the ghost equivalent of the Lochness monster”
Sam rolled her eyes. “There’s only three sisters in the Oresteia trilogy. The original myth didn’t number them and there’s plenty of art with four of them. Besides, the truth behind Pandora got confused right?”
“Where did you even hear about her?” Tucker asked.
With a huff, Sam crossed her arms. “I heard it from my girls and ghouls club during poetry night.”
“Don’t recite the poem-“
“I’ll recite the poem!”
Danny chuckled, he didn’t mind listening to Sam’s poetry recital skills. She really went all out, pulling her theatre and speech making experience to good use. And also her voice was pleasant to listen to in general. Besides, Tucker getting annoyed was almost a bonus.
 "Oh Mother of Fury
I ask for a boon
So that I may curry
A favor, this tune
Is a vow, a promise I make
So if I shall falter and vengeance you take
I’ll have no regrets in life or in death
I’ll sing you this song with my final breath
My children I care for watch over them please
My sisters and brothers look after with ease
My mother and father keep sight of them too
Take care of them all and I swear this to you
I’ll keep every Oath, fulfill every Vow
That’s what I promise and this poem is how"
“… so a prayer for protection?” Tucker asked, having listened intently.
“Apparently if you invoke it, it's the next best thing to a Stygian frailty. You can never break a vow or promise again or the Mother of the Furies and her children will hunt you down.”
"Idk Sam, I'm with Danny. No way that's real. It's probably just one of those things that makes ghosts feel safer." Tucker shook his head. "I'm not about to believe a weird poem about something's existence."
Sam threw her notebook at him. "The Fright Knight had a weird poem! And the Ancients exist! We met a ghost who can control time, how is the Mother of Vengeance less probable!?"
Danny slowed down, there was something in the distance that didn’t quite fit. It looked off kilter but in a different way from the usual off kilter descriptions of the Zone. He marked it on the map and saw it bleed into the paper, disappearing as quickly as he’d drawn it on.
That wasn’t a good sign.
Tucker was still talking. “Well yeah but we know the Ancients are real because they sealed Pariah Dark and we know he’s real because he attacked Amity Park and has a giant castle smack dab in the middle of the Zone-“
“Guys,” Danny interrupted, “do you see that?”
Sam and Tucker both finally looked up, away from their ongoing argument.
Sam gasped, “It’s a bird cage.”
“A really big bird cage.” Tucker agreed.
There was a song, Danny heard, that rang softly in his ears. It built in volume and strength the closer they got until Danny could hear it clearly.
It was a call for help.
They had to go in.
He flew closer. “Wait, Danny!” Sam grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “It could be a siren trap.”
“What?” Danny whipped his head back, “that doesn’t matter, whoever is in there needs help.”
Tucker shook his head, “nah man, she’s right. Could be one of those Venus flytrap situations that tries to lure you in with your obsession.”
“Remember the garden?” Sam said and Danny had to concede the point. The garden had been a paradise of mortal realm plants and the trio was excited to explore the implications behind their existence there.
Clockwork had to drag them out.
“Okay, this time we’ll be cautious.” Danny looked up at the cage again, it was easier to see the details from this close. The bars were a soft, tarnished looking silver that was almost white. They twisted around each other weaving in and out and forming what Danny realized was almost a web-like design. He couldn’t see anything beyond the bars.
“Here’s the plan,” Sam said grabbing the Fenton Fisher from the side car of her speeder. “Danny goes in his ghost form so whoever or whatever set the trap doesn’t get suspicious. If anything, and I mean anything Danny, goes wrong? You turn human and we drag you out with the Fenton fisher.”
He looked dubiously at the length of ecto-enhanced fishing line before sighing and lifting his arms so she could tie it around his waist. “I’ll be right out, you both stay here.”
“Yeah yeah,” Tucker said slapping a tracker onto Danny’s hazmat suit. “Just don’t die again okay?”
“Sure Tuck.”
Once the preparations were made Danny went towards the singing, letting it draw him towards what looked like an entrance. Except, there was a lock on it.
A very large one.
He gave it a tug, but it didn’t so much budge. Looking around for anything that might try to ambush him first, or any smaller ghosts that might be affected, he let his power go a little, building it up in his hands just like Pandora taught him to. Once he was confident he grabbed the lock to pull it open, but instead it grabbed hold of his energy and drew it out of him, like a fish caught on a hook. Danny couldn’t pull his hands away so the only thing he could do was transform, giving himself away.
The pulling stopped, but nothing else happened. No loud sirens declaring him like Walker’s prison might, no powerful ghosts lurking in the shadows.
He let out a sigh of relief. The lock went easily under his hands in this form and Danny had to chuckle at how nice it was that the Ghost Zone seemed to be really inadequately prepared for Halfas like him.
The door creaked when it opened. And it only opened a couple of inches before it just wouldn’t budge anymore. Danny gave up and transformed back so he could manipulate his form enough to slip through.
Inside was a castle.
No.
Inside was a very specific castle. Pariah’s keep as Danny had literally never seen it. The brick was a dusty softer red, and while the plants and weeds had grown and taken over, they looked as if they’d been tended to, at least minimally. And there was a twisting branch of Thistely that settled into the shape of a birds nest.
Danny was starting to get idea that a bird might be in here.
A sword was at his neck.
“Halt, who dares tread into the domain of stories and songs?” A woman’s voice said, deep and melodic. It didn’t sound anything like the song that had lead him here.
He raised his hands in the more or less universal sign of surrender and said “sorry, didn’t mean to barge in ma’am. I just wanted to make sure no one was trapped in here?”
The sword lowered. “Trapped?” She asked, bemused.
Danny chanced turning around to get a look at his accosted. She was one of the prettier ghosts he’d seen. Her colors were all washed out, leaving soft pastels in place. Her arms though, looked like they were covered in swan feathers, at least the parts of her arms he could see. The cape clasped high on her neck looked like it might have been made from the very same feathers, except woven delicately into cloth.
She was also clearly dangerous, the power behind her eyes nothing to take lightly. And her fingers sharpened into long black claws that Danny had no doubt carved through their fair share of ghost flesh.
“Yes ma’am. It’s a bird cage so-“ he was just going to explain his reasoning, having come to the conclusion that this was likely the other ghost’s lair and he was trespassing, when her expression shut off entirely.
“This is the King’s Keep.” She said, her voice dangerously steady.
Danny nodded, “yeah it uh, looks just like Pariah’s-“
“Pariah Dark?” The woman asked, “He built a mimicry of my brother’s castle?”
Her expression showed severe distaste, and while Danny couldn’t exactly blame her, it didn’t help his danger sense that she seemed to know the former king personally.
“Your Brother?” Danny asked, trying to subtly look around. He couldn’t see any pastel bird men, but it didn’t hurt to keep an eye out. “Is this his lair?”
“As long as he is King his keep is here,” she answered. Oh great, yet another weird king in some back water place.
“King of what? The feather lands?” Danny mumbled under his breath.
The sword returned to under his chin and he froze. He had to stop accidentally insulting people.
“King of Ghosts little Half-Dead. It would do you well not to mock him.”
But Danny’s fear parted to make way for confusion. With a sword at his neck Danny said, “But that’s Pariah Dark?”
The woman’s eyes flashed a deep purple and she struck, Danny’s training with Pandora and Clockwork’s teachings were the only thing that allowed him to keep his head.
He shot an ectoblast but the woman easily caught it on the edge of her sword, twisting around and sending it right back at him. It was probably the most elegant way Danny had ever been attacked and he had to force himself to move, to not get distracted as he ducked and weaved, dodging each of her attacks.
“Why are you attacking me? Do you hate Pariah that much??” He dodged what looked like a handful of feathers, sharpened on every edge. This lady was mad, question was why.
“My brother would not lose to that lout. How dare you imply-“
“Wait I’m not implying anything! You’re brother would probably win for sure,” he said, and then under his breath, “especially if he’s anything like you.”
The attacks stilled. “What are you saying?”
Danny didn’t let down his guard, but he didn’t attack either. She looked wary, a trace of uncertainty and tension underneath her fierce exterior. “All I know,” he said, carefully, “is that Pariah Dark was called the King of Ghosts and that he was sealed into an eternal sleep in a sarcophagus in Pariah’s Keep. I don’t know who was king before that, but he’s been asleep for at least a few thousand years.”
Her brow twitched. “But that… that isn’t right.”
She flickered, and Danny froze, that wasn’t a good sign. That was an Obsession based break down sign. “Are you going to be okay?” he asked.
“I just saw him…” her eyes flashed. “You said this was a bird cage.”
He nodded.
Her gaze darkened. “I see. Someone thought to play with me. A mistake. Stay here, I will return.”
Danny didn’t even have the chance to argue before she was folding into herself, and flew off as a bird.
He followed.
Honestly she should have expected that, what teenager listens to someone they just met? She was fast though, and it was hard to keep up as she flew higher and higher into what looked like the endless open abyss of the Ghost Zone.
The bird twisted and shooting from the feathers was once more the woman’s more human form took shape as she kept flying her hand reaching in front of her. She grabbed empty nothing, except- it clearly was something because what was once a clear view of the Ghost Zone crumbled like fabric and was shredded into pieces by sharp claws, revealing the thick bars of the cage.
She growled and Danny took a second to find what she was looking at. It was the top of the cage, the center of the spider’s web with delicately detailed runes etched into each bar.
“Misery Vex,” the woman sneered, “I should have known.”
Danny rubbed awkwardly at the back of his neck. This looked above his pay grade. Then again, after beating Pariah Dark and fighting half the Ancients there wasn’t much that qualified really. Wait. Wasnt Misery Vex am Ancient? Did they make a habit of trapping random ghosts in complicated ways?
The woman was pacing angrily, at least, the ghostly equivalent of pacing. “There’s no way to know how long I’ve been here, anything could have happened to him,” she muttered, “especially if that joke Pariah was made king at some point. Was this because of our fight? No, it couldn’t have been.”
“Ma’am?” He said, gently tapping her on the shoulder to get her attention. Her eyes were a bright lilac, and Danny saw that she was in some type of mania. What even was her obsession?
“Oh, right. I’ll get us out of here, just step back.”
“Wait I can-“ once again not waiting for an answer, she made her move. Grabbing two of the thicker and more intricate bars in her hands she pulled them apart with what looked like impressive physical strength. But even when she let go, the force did not mitigate. Instead they acted as if gravity itself were pulling them apart.
Danny watched amazed as the very same force worked its way over the entire cage and it ripped itself apart into scrap metal, the figment of the castle inside fading away along with the enticing sirens song.
“Wow.”
The woman smiled. “Thank you for showing me the truth. It may have been eons again before I realized. She had trapped me in a mimicry, a nasty curse. Be sure not to befell it yourself.”
“Right, will do. Uh…” he hesitated but the woman didn’t seem to have any frustration or anger for him, only for her absent captor and the time she must have missed. “Can I get your name?”
She looked surprised at that. “A bold request. But I suppose I owe you something. I am Erinyen, though you may call me Erin. Call upon me shall you need a promise kept or vengeance taken.”
And then she flew away.
Danny nodded, he helped. He did what he needed to and he didn’t even need to do most of the work.
He turned to tell his friends the good news only to see two equally gobsmacked expressions.
“What?” he said, a little defensively.
Sam recovered first. “You found her!”
“Found her?”
“The Mother of the Furies!” Tucker said, waving a pdf, “what the hell dude! I thought you were on my side!”
“I was!” Danny defended. How was he supposed to know?

Phew- about time I actually posted some legit DP-related art on this blog after ages of not doing so fjkjk
Sooo yeah, for those who don't follow me on DA I've made the previous pic a lil while ago regarding my new current ship of Fright Knight and Princess Dorathea; mainly 'cause I've long since grown disinterested in some of my old DP NG pairings soooo about time I spruced that up lol. As such, I felt like my old Dorathea NG boi (Prince Arthur) looong needed a design update himself given his new parentage... soooo, here he is~
More info about Arthur's character can be found below (and over on my DA here), for those new or just curious to learn what his new role is gonna be like 👍
(Bio):
Arthur bears the lineage of the mighty and feared Fright Knight, and the calm kindness of Queen Dorathea (of the Medieval Dragon ghost realm). While he lived the start of his childhood as a humble, carefree child… when he got older he was soon trained under his father’s guide to become as powerful as a knight as himself (perhaps good enough to take over as the new Fright Knight, within the far future timeframe). By the time he turned 15, he was sent off to serve under the royal family of Pariah Dark’s… the now-revived Ghost Zone king who rules over all with an iron fist.
For over a year now, Arthur has continued to pledge loyalty to the Dark family (and even to Pariah’s children, Judas and Jeze)... but lately, he’s beginning to wonder if this role is truly “right” for him. Having always been a good-natured fella, the inner-conflict Arthur has in either staying true to his “duties” (and father), and following his own heart has led him to being quite uptight, sulky, and rather prideful towards the very idea of asking anyone for help. And not wanting to incur the wrath of Pariah Dark himself (nor disappoint either of the royal twins, whom Arthur have always looked up to as a child)... all Arthur could do is push down these thoughts and carry on with following orders until the time is right…
At least… that was the plan, until recently where he came into contact with some “heroes” on the other side; the Team Phantom crew. After having been spared following an attack in his fiery dragon form and later tended back to health, he’s sworn an oath to help their goal in protecting Amity Park (and other innocents) from the antics of the most foul ghost enemies (most notably, a certain black-hearted shadow ghost & friends). Perhaps, with their encouragement (and the continuing kindness of ghost huntress Morgan), Arthur will someday find the courage to form his own destiny, as the hero he’s long dreamed of being… (Fun Facts):
-Like his father, Arthur’s hair tends to move around like that of black flames, further “igniting” brighter when he’s in a particularly “rageful” mood.
-Arthur’s Dragon Amulet once belonged to his uncle, Prince Aragon, but following the latter’s banishment (and denouncement from the throne), Dorathea decided to give it to her son once he became old enough to be trusted with responsibility.
-The scars on Arthur’s face were from a brawl between him and Nyx when they were children; with Nyx clawing him in the face whilst Arthur was distracted for a few seconds. These scars somehow tend to “sting” more whenever Nyx is in the vicinity.
-Despite living in a Medieval-based realm all his life, Arthur’s grown a fondness for modern Metal music, whilst his favorite food is a fresh Meat lovers Pizza (of which he can wolf down half a pie in a few minutes). Still kind of rusty at video games though.
-Arthur’s sword is made from a similar alloy as his father’s (“the Soulshredder”), giving it the ability to expose a person’s deepest truths if touched by the blade. This is usually how Arthur keeps order around anyone opposing Pariah Dark (and to weed out any potential “liars” within the family’s royal court).

Meet Tiamat, the Dragon Queen of the Ghost Zone. I’ve had her living in my head rent free for the past week so now y’all get to deal with her.
Lore dump ahead:
Tiamat is an old ghost, in life she ruled a great empire that has long since been erased from the Earth. As a ghost she ruled over her kin, they were the greatest force in the fight against Pariah Dark. To make herself strong enough to face him, Tiamat consumed other elemental ghost cores, earning a new head for each one. It was her final battle with Pariah that weakened him enough to be imprisoned, but he tore off her heads and critically weakened her to near permanent death. Tiamat fell into a dormant state to recover and her kin hid her at the far edge of the Ghost Zone.
From each head that Pariah tore off an eye was recovered and made into amulets. This is where Aragon and Dora get theirs, the Eyes of Tiamat. The other 2 are with Tiamat herself. The scars on her neck and chest are where her other heads had been and her Fire core is visible because it was nearly ripped out.

can you like. tell me a little about dragon age. seeing your posts about it has got me interested in playing but i have little to no clue what it actually is
Tumblr media
Boy can I explain nonny <3 This is a bit long so strap in and im sorry
Dragon Age is (currently) a three game series composed of Dragon Age: Origins (PS3, Xbox 360/Xbox One, PC), Dragon Age: II (PS3, Xbox 360/Xbox One, PC), and Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4, Xbox One, PC) and its really unique because of its selling point that your actions impact the games as you progress. Like if you kill one character in one game they’ll stay dead through the rest of the series which makes you feel lived in the story and that your actions matter. Dragon Age is also an RPG so a roleplaying game kind of along the same lines of DnD where you get to make and play your own character. And yes there are romances and you can be gay.
The First Game of the series is Dragon Age: Origins where you choose from a selection of six unique (technically seven) origins or backgrounds for your character. You can be anywhere from a human noble or a Dalish elf, the unique elven culture in Dragon Age of nomadic clans dedicating to reclaiming their past. But eventually, from the events in your origin, you wind up a member of a secretive and elite order known as the Grey Wardens whose duty is to protect the world from the Blight.
The Blight is this spread of a horrible disease known as the Taint but is characterized by the presence of Darkspawn, a kind of zombie like creature who exists only to destroy the world. Grey Wardens take the heavy duty of protecting the world from the Blight, which have nearly wiped all of humanity multiple times, at all costs. And currently the country of Ferelden is under going a blight and due to events you wind up the only Grey Warden with your companion Alistair to save the world and reunite Ferelden which had fallen under a civil war.
Along Origins you meet many interesting characters. Alistair is your friendly co-warden who has a mysterious parentage that he hides under his happy go lucky attitude. In contrast to Alistair is the witch Morrigan who is your favorite goth swamp queen who would insult you and you thank her. In addition you meet your chaotic bi rogues Zevran and Leliana. Leliana is a nun who is on the run and hiding from a dark past and she is suspiciously good at murder. And Zevran is not at all hiding his aptitude for murder as an Assassin for hire who tried and failed to kill you but who can ignore that charming bastard?
Dragon Age II follows a much smaller story of a Ferelden refuge who had escaped from the Blight to the city of Kirkwall named Hawke. Unlike in origins where you get to pick your background 2 limits you to Hawke but fear not, Hawke is a loveable bastard and you can still customize them. Throughout DA2 you get to experience all the delights Kirkwall has to offer: Demons, crime, corrupt cops, and fighting your way to survive in this city and make a name for yourself.
Where Origins sets the stage for the world DA2 you are the actor in that play - literally the game is divided into 3 acts that take place over a span of 7 years. DA2′s main conflict is the argument of Mages vs Templars, as in DA’s lore while there are those who are born with magic they are forced to live in prisons policed by the Templar order and the church. You explore the more political arguments of; are the Templars right in their fears of magic as Kirkwall is filled to the brim with corrupt mages or do Mages deserve the chance to live and prove themselves freely from their prisons.
Your romancable companions in DA2 are all bisexuals as the true theme of DA2 is: be gay do crime. You have the foils of Anders: the runaway mage who fled from the prisons the mages are housed in and is determined to bring mages to freedom, and Fenris: the runaway escaped slave who curses magic for only inflicting pain and suffering in his life and wants his warnings to be heard about the dangers magic bring. In addition you also have Merrill, your cute but terrifying Dalish mage who would probably murder you with a cute smile and then go oops. And of course, my pirate wife Isabela, who lives a life free from commitment and is dedicated to the idea everyone should have a good time no matter the cost. Also while not romancable Hawke’s bff Varric deserves every ounce of praise he gets as never before has the energy of “two idiots sharing a braincell” ever been so well adapted.
Then finally we reach Inquisition. After the events of DA2 it triggers a full on war between the Mages and Templars that is destroying the land and causing severe damage that neither side can handle anymore. Desperate for an end to the conflict the Divine (err... fantasy pope) calls for a meeting on both sides... only for the entire thing to literally explode. Killing everyone present and causing a hole in the sky which now means demons are raining like cats and dogs you are the only one to survive. In Inquisition you can once again return to pick between unique backgrounds like in Origins but you don’t get to play through those backgrounds sadly.
You now possess something on your left hand which gives you the ability to patch up the hole in the sky that is pissing demons and due to being the only survivor everyone is incredibly confused about you. Eventually the Inquisition is formed around you, the character they are calling the Herald of Andraste (Andraste is fantasy Jesus) due to your ability to seal the holes. The mystery unfolds as over the course of the game you learn what caused the explosion, how you are connected, and what exactly the mark on your hand is.
DAI has the largest numbers of romance options so I’m gonna give a quick bullet point list for them all
Iron Bull (Pansexual, All Races): A Qunari (think Tiefling but big and beefy) mercenary who is far more clever than he lets on, as well as being the rope top dom of your dreams. Literally! Bull’s romance is a really healthy bdsm relationship if you are interested its very well done
Josephine (Bisexual, All Races): Your loveable ambassador and advisor for the inquisition. She is a workaholic noble who is a tried and true classic romance. Sweep her off her feet and duel for her hand all while navigating the nobility
Dorian (Gay, All Races): The flamboyant pariah rock star mage, he demands attention whenever he walks into the room. Although he wants to be all talk and no emotions make no mistake he is making puppy eyes at you the entire time and gets deeply offended if you say he is. Also not going to lie Dorian is the best piece of gay male rep in gaming history.
Cassandra (Male-only, all Races): Your stern warrior wife who is all serious no funny business... expect she is a bleeding heart romantic who reads horrible smut for fun. You wish to COURT HER?? I mean... if you want 👉👈 she won’t say no...
Blackwall (Female-only, All Races): Your weird dilf who wants desperately to prove himself every step of the way and help people. He is a constable for the Grey Wardens, but all the details on him seem murky... Ah well I’m sure its nothing, the Grey Wardens are a secretive order after all.
Sera (Lesbian, All Races): My wild child, monster chugging, beer guzzling, arrow shooting lesbian. Sera is here for a fun time and not a serious one, she’ll always make sure to keep you humble and ensure you aren’t getting to big for your breeches.
Cullen (Female-Only, Human and Elf only): Cullen’s the Inquisition’s commander who oohh boy is steeped in a lot of trauma. Cullen’s actually a character you get to know through out the series and see just all the horrible nonsense he’s been through. But he is your tragic self loathing... he isn’t princely but he is your adorkable charming
Solas (Female-Only, Elf Only): The humble apostate who joins the Inquisition out of curiosity of the breech, he is an expert on what the hell is going on with that hole in the sky. However, he holds a wisdom that goes far deeper than your typical apostate. Smooth talking and refined he carries a heavy cloud over him.
I left out a lot and all the nonsense with books and what have you but this is the easiest overview of the series I can offer. It’s main selling points is the deep story and characters throughout the games. And of course who doesn’t love the ability to make and roleplay your own character as a bonus? The games are bit of a flawed gem and Origins in my ugly child but they are truly a delight if you are interested

Taylor Hebert became a Noble in an unfortunate incident involving the Power of Social Darwinism, who had started drinking her own kool-aid. In her moment of pure fear and loathing, she attracted the attention of the Dark Magister known only as the Queen Administrator, who breathed into her soul the pure essence of what it means to hurt someone else because no one will stop you. Taylor, however, was stronger than the Magister expected, and she extirpated this teaching from her soul, leaving only the power it had given her. She is now a Power without an Estate. She has never taken the path from her locker into the Queen Administrator’s shadowy chancel, choosing to let it fall into ruin rather than serve a being who would give her such a “gift”.
What she fails to realize, of course, is that this is exactly what the Queen Administrator wants. In indulging her own freedom, she serves the Queen Administrator. In subjugating others, she serves the Queen Administrator. She fills people’s lungs with flies and spiderwebs, she blinds a fearsome dragon, she fights and claws to keep herself alive because she cannot imagine a world without her own influence - the Queen Administrator watches this and laughs.
She also bullied God into committing suicide. The Queen Administrator liked that too.
