A-T-3 026 Bananarama - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye

It's not like I'm the arbiter of good taste but Bananarama have always been fucking cool! My mate swears one of their b sides has the first recorded example of a backspin (more commonly associated with Jungle records 10 years later). Of course this record is a cover version of Steam's 1969 classic popular with sports crowds and betting shop adverts. It was Bananarama's fourth top five record in the UK, the first two being with Fun Boy Three. It's produced by Jolley & Swain who had been doing really well with Imagination (Jolley & Swain were in a band called The Pedestrians that made a record called Commuter Fantasy which is on Matthew Burgess & Jolyon Green's Originals Vol 4 compilation), they stay with Bananarama through their first two and a bit albums (the best ones)

The next single is the killer, cruelly I'm saving that for the summer
