Priscilla Universe Au

Hey guys, I just can't hold it back any longer, I just got to share this idea that's been in my head all week.

Okay so we all know Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond and we all know she left Spinel at the garden and we all know the rest.

But know since I've been loving the ship Stevinel (Steven x Spinel), I've been having this idea, I wanted to share.

Okay so how about this, instead of Pink Diamond being the spark of the rebellion, how about Spinel was the one that wanted to save Earth?

I mean think about it, Spinel definitely loved making Pink Diamond happy whenever she came to the garden but Spinel never gave that much thought about her own happiness and that was why after she was able to entertain Pink, she would feel kinda depressed because she really wasn't feeling happy herself.

Spinel knew that Pink wanted a colony more then anything and when Blue and Yellow Diamond finally gave Pink her own planet, Spinel was really happy for Pink but Pink noticed that she wasn't all jumpy and excited like she thought she was going to act. So Pink decided that she wanted to take Spinel with her and then after a little while the two of them and Pearl went down to Earth with Pink disguised as a Rose Quartz.

When Pearl and Pink were enjoying looking at the colony and playing with the Amethysts, Spinel decided she wanted to look around and see what other things are on the planet and that was when she saw them.

The Humans.

She couldn't believe her eyes. They were wonderful creatures, at least in her opinion, but if the colony was complete then they will die along with everything that will be taken from Earth.

She didn't want that so she went to Pink Diamond and begged her to stop the colony but Pink wouldn't allow it because it was her chance to finally have her wish.

Spinel talked to all of the other Diamonds, hoping that they could help but they didn't help her either so she thought about the first time Pink disguised herself and decided that she would become someone that they wouldn't hear the last from.

She turned her gem into an upside-down heart and she became the fighter, Rubellite (I think she would be a Rubellite and I think it would be awesome if she had long hair kept down).

When she got the chance to get close to Pink, she tricked her into thinking that she was right and that she was just being selfish. Pink forgave her and welcomed her back. Then that was when she turned into Rubellite behind her and her Pearl's back and puffed both of them but she left some broken gem pieces to look like that she shattered Pink Diamond and her Pearl even though she really didn't.

Then after the war was over, Rubellite lived on Earth with Garnet and Amethyst on Earth and that was when the three of them lived as Humans while also protecting Humanity from the monster gems.

Then there is Steven Universe.

Steven was a college student, studying music and he was on his way home when he saw a lovely lady with long hair and an upside-down heart on her chest.

She was looking up at the stars when she saw Steven walking towards her and asked what she was doing. She answered that she was stargazing and mentioned that she could almost see her homeworld.

After that they were always together and then one day she had to give up her physical form to give birth to her one and only baby daughter, Priscilla Rubellite Universe.

Steven, Garnet and Amethyst took care of her the best they knew how and she even went to school like other humans. She was able to get along with a lot of people from many of the schools she went to and thanks to her stretchy powers, she was able to help anyone in need faster and also have a lot of fun with so many people.

Then one day she saw a new boy named Joshua Treetip and she welcomed him and became great friends with him too.

Many bad and good things happened but then she heard from Amethyst and Garnet that they needed to talk to her.

She listened closely and she learned that there was a gem named Spinel that disappeared a few days before Pink Diamond was "shattered" and that Pink Diamond actually wasn't shattered, neither was her Pearl.

The most shocking news to her was that her mom was Spinel that became Rubellite to help Earth.

It was a lot to take in but she understood and she excepted it.

Then the Diamonds came and Prissy showed them that Pink and her Pearl weren't really dead and that she was a part of Spinel.

Pink should've been mad because her Spinel tricked her and Pearl but she still loved Spinel even if she did choose to save the Earth one way or another and she was actually happy to know that Prissy was a part of Spinel.

And I think you all can get the idea.

Luz, the golden guard

(some initial designs + my version of this roleswap AU:)

In terms of design:

Her costume still had to be within the Emp's coven's outfit guidelines (Gold and White colors, plus Luz's purple). The design in the main drawings is closer to what I was going for.

I like to think she still manages to create her own distinct style even in uniform. Sewing cat ears on her cloak, putting stickers on her staff, etc.

oh, also instead of a triangle she has a star. I just think it's neat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I couldn't decide on her hair (I did accidentally make it seem that, from top to bottom, that her hairstyle progression). I think I might like the last one the most since it's more convenient (and badass).

I couldn't decide on the scar placement, but I'd like to have one that mirrors Li'l Rascal's. Also, the notch in the ear remains, of course.

her tattoo... idk I feel like Belos gives it to her as a precaution measure/way of identification.

Her staff has two wings, and like the star, I only did that cus it looks neat.

I did consider making her 'amethyst guard' but that would mean that her color is gonna be more... her? I just prefer the ~symbolysim~ of her color being overshadowed/hidden by the Emp coven colors.

I assume her change in aspirations would make Rascal become her palisman, but there's also the whole thing with Hunter being Philip's brother and that cardinal we saw in the midseason finale. Shared palisman, perhaps? idk

In terms of the story:

(This is a VERY rough idea.)

Hunter, only 8/9 yo, had just gotten the cut on his cheek less than a day ago. Belos had succumbed momentarily to his curse and in a fit of anger about the owl lady, hurts hunter.

angry and afraid, Hunter escapes out of the palace and into the city. He finds Eda on one of her stalls, selling human junk. Facinated but cautious, he observes from afar until Eda closes for the day and sets off to find more junk via the portal.

Hunter follows her through, hijinks ensue and he ends up choosing to stay with her (much to her dismay).

Meanwhile, A 6/7 yo Luz sees the glowing door and naturally goes through. Ending up in the boiling isles.

in the end, Luz ends up as Belos' ward while Hunter in begrudgingly adopted by Eda and King.

General HCs:

Assuming Belos is Philip, I imagine Luz would be told/figure out that he's a human, and since she never got to see the earth, she's only ever heard stories about it. He serves as her only hope that she'll get back home while she stands as the possibility that getting the portal door is possible.

Luz's personality is similar to canon, only she WILL stab a bitch with a smile and style.

Being as she is human, as opposed to Hunter (assumingly) being a Grimwalker, Belos is a bit more careful with her. Almost over-protective at times.

Luz's motivation is curing Belos' curse and returning home, to a family she can't fully remember.

I haven't put much thought into how her fascination with magic is affected but I do think she'd still be a huge Azura fan, though hides her fanart/fanfics for fear of rejection/disappointing her status like Amity did.

GUESS WHO MADE A STEVEN UNIBERSE AU. THIS GUY

dude I've been seeing aus all over switching the rose role around so I wanted to do one for myself. this au is inspired by @twiniverse 's au

INTRODUCING

NORA AND STEVEN UNIVERSE, CHILDREN OF GREG UNIVERSE AND LEADER GARNET

In this au, Garnet started the rebellion, Garnet shattered Pink Diamond, and Garnet gave up her gems to Steven and Nora. She fell in love with Greg instead of Rose, and gave up her gem. Steven got Ruby's gem and now has super cool fire powers, and Nora got Sapphire's gem and now has super cool future vision and ice powers. They're each other's Yin and Yang.

They have limits on their powers. Steven cant function well in the cold unless he has hot water, hot food, and hot everything on him and in him to be able to use some of his power in the cold. Nora is the opposite, she can't function in heat, so she has alot of ice water, ice cream, and popsicles.

If they hold each other's hands, gem touching, they cancel out each other's downsides and can do everything Garnet and do. This is the same thing if they fuse.

As always in these kinds of Aus, there was roleswaps. Mine, not so much.

Rose has Garnet's role. She's the leader, she's still pink diamond, and she flirts with other humans constantly.

Pearl is still Pearl, only she became dedicated to Garnet after Rose kept calling in love with other humans. She later gets married with Bismuth.

Amethyst is still amethyst. No other changes to her besides Garnet found her, not Rose.

Bismuth is Garnet. She's still here and plays part of the Garnet role. Leader when Rose is absent which is alot. Strong and fierce! In the situation where Rose poofed her, Garnet didnt. She just talked it out with Bismuth. She lives underneath the house in a cool forge type of thing. It's awesome, shaped like her gem, and it's basically a mancave.

Anyways please ask me questions about them. Theys my babies.

Here's the thing: The only after-effect of Asriel committing a true reset is that he also switched the six souls, establishing that every change made from UT to IF has to rely on the swaps and their wants of a nail. It's a take.

No. If Inverted Fate is a “take” on anything, it’s just the role swap genre, which again, exists independently of Underswap.To make another example:My KH fic series, Antipode, takes a common what-if of Riku being the protagonist. It is NOT the first fic to explore this concept. That does not make it a “take” on other fics with that premise- because I deliberately avoided reading those fics so that I could do my own thing and develop my own ideas without being influenced by what came before. If it’s a take on anything, it’s a take on the general idea of the Keybearer Riku what-if.IF shares a small portion of Underswap’s placements... but they aren’t even placements that Underswap invented or has sole ownership to. When UT was new, I saw tons of fanworks swapping Sans and Papyrus, and sometimes Undyne and Alphys and Toriel and Asgore. And that’s just it- the most blatant pair dynamics in a fandom are always gonna be ripe for the picking. For instance: Lillie and Gladion swap AUs, Sonic and Shadow swapping, Aang and Zuko, Seven and Garnet/Amethyst/Pearl with Connie and Jasper/Peridot/Lapis. I’ve seen multiple interpretations of these ideas independent from each other.But Underswap is a swap of as many characters as possible. Temmie and Flowey, Grillby and Muffet, BP and Nice Cream, and MTT and Blook are all front and center in the official art for the AU. Frisk and Chara, Asriel and MK, and Bratty and Catty are still known and popular swaps, too. All of which are iconic to Underswap and present in nearly every Underswap take. Some of which are super bizarre, like Tem and Flowey, and thus unique to that AU and deliberately absent from IF- because I didn’t want it to be Underswap. I started work on IF because I thought it’d be fun to have a mad scientist Undyne bounce off of Mettaton and have Papyrus as her lab assistant, while simultaneously helping Frisk and the conflict that would entail. Then the idea developed from there, with me wanting to include the failed pacifist elements SUPER early on into the AU’s development as well as the Frisk and Papyrus friendship. Having six “swaps” was deliberate due to that- six swaps, six Lost Souls. I was aware of Underswap’s existence, but I specifically wanted to avoid doing what Uswap did because I felt it was antithetical to building a story-based AU that has swaps in it. Because the more pieces you move around, the more you have to justify and explain as well as take into account the effects of that character being there. For a story-driven fanwork, you can get away with even a single swap and have everything else change as a result. Storyshift had ten. I went with six. And the lack of personality swapping was due to my dislike of personality swaps in role swapping even before UT- like, when I started planning Antipode in 2007, I specifically wanted to keep Riku true to his KH1 personality.And the thing is, IF owes way more to Storyshift and my previous work on Antipode than it does Underswap. Storyshift was what inspired me to take the sprite comic format it started and give it my own spin. I started developing IF as a concept in October 2015, but other than some story ideas and character sketches, I wasn’t sure how I was gonna tell that story until I saw Storyshift’s approach.

There were a handful of other sprite comics starting up then- but one thing I noticed is that a lot of the maps were unchanged, things like the long hallway and training dummy were basically unchanged. A lot of this was due to it being a fledgling form of storytelling in the comic as well as the amount of work it takes to make those kinda changes, but I wanted to have fun with it, which is why I made changes like all the map edits in the Ruins, the comic pages, Frisk talking, a party member... These were all me just doing things I wanted to do that would make the comic fun and help put my own personal stamp on this type of AU.So when people declare that my work is a take and disregard the months of planning and care that went into the project, it’s extremely disrespectful. Doubly so when they drag my friends and their project through the mud. And this has been a recurring problem with Team Switched, ever since the freakin’ #NotMySwapSans drama years ago.It’s toxic. It’s rude. It does not show support of either project. Never mind that it becomes a pretty slippery slope when you look at other projects.I have seen other AUs that have a few character positions in common with other AUs- for instance, Undermyth and Jumbletale both had Papyrus in the “Sans” role. Undermyth and Sudden changes both had Asriel in the “Toriel” role. I know of at least two AUs with Muffet as Toriel and two with Alphys as Toriel. Taleshift had Asgore and Toriel as Papyrus and Sans, as do Altered Destiny and Altertale.That does not make these AUs “takes” of each other. Roleswap is just a broad genre you can do a lot with. In my fifteen years of being in fandoms, it has always been one of THE most popular genres. By that logic, Underswap is a “take” on the droves of Bloodswap AUs in the Homestuck fandom... when I highly doubt that was the direct inspiration.Anyway, to my followers- sorry about this rant. This has been going on for a VERY long time, with multiple people hounding myself and TS about our works.Any further asks like this will just get deleted- I just wanted to go into more detail on the thought processes that went into planning the AU and my own experiences in fandom leading up to it.

HnK Roleswap AU because I fucking CAN HAHA

starts off with antarc, the hero of our story

Antarc does winter duty alone usually. they never necessarily had a problem with lunarians until other gems started tagging along.

one year either the lunarians dropped a gigantic slug over the school and antarc got absorbed or antarc found a dying slug on the beach and took it back to the school but either way they make a slug friend

With some difficult communication, antarc takes the slug back to its home.

Unknowingly the slug transforms back into ?? one of the admirabilis (probably acu) and attacks antarc, seizing their legs

They get taken up to the sunspot and ventri/aculea ask for their sibling to be brought down

so they bring them down and the negotiation goes wrong n shit so they just totally destroy the sunspot instead

antarc passes out and washes up on the shoreline. Cinnabar? or adamant finds them with two pieces of shell and ocean jasper which he takes back to the school and rutile makes legs out of them before they go back to hibernation

Antarc now has two legs made of jasper, hardness 7. Now they can run like hella.

one time the amethyst twins were trying to show off to them their cool fighting skills but almost got taken away in the process

Since then Antarc never permitted anyone to do winter duty with them until they were certain they could take down a whole sunspot on their own

The next year, baby phos tags along. Antarc considers them a total nuisance but from word of sensei lets them help

One day Phos accidentally dropped their sword between the ice floes on a particularly weathered day. somehow antarc happens to lose their arms too but because of lack of mobility they choose not to go back for it. Phos offers to help but Antarc didn’t want to risk it

The next day they go out to the shore of nascency to find replacement inclusions with the help of phos.

some unformed anatase falls out of the cliff

They didn’t happen to find anything but silver on the ground, so they made do with that they had. Phos helped put the inclusions on but immediately something just wasn’t going right with the silver, and phos was panicking.

The silver forms to turn into what looks like a cluster of stibnite around antarc. The lunarians arrive and phos has no way of defending themself, and antarc watches in horror as they’re shattered to pieces right in front of them

“I’m sorry. It was all my fault. Please... don’t blame yourself.”

Antarc finally gains control of the silver and fucking runs for the sunspot but is too late

They fall crashing back into the sand with tears of silver streaming down their face.

Creation Process: Fusion Au Part 1 (The Basics)

Ok so I’ve been wanting to make something like this for a while now. I always love hearing the creative process for how things came to be and all the original plans that didn’t end up making the part. And I love talking to people (mainly myself) about how I created all of my stories and aus, so I figured, hey, there might be one person out there that’ll find this interesting!

I might make more of these for my other aus, but I find the fusion au’s creation process the most interesting. As you could probably tell from the title of this post, this’ll be multiple parts, with the first part just kind of talking about the basics of this au and the main origin. I’ll get into the actual characters in other parts, so if you wanna know how I created certain fusions, you won’t find that in this post. But that’s enough rambling, time to go over how my fusion au became a thing.

It isn’t really a secret to people I know irl that there are two types of aus I love to make: roleswap aus and fusion aus. Roleswap aus are easier for me to make and share with others, but fusion aus, I get more self conscious with. Multiple times, I have told myself not to make fusion aus because I thought other people would think it was “cringey”, so when I was getting back into Ninjago, that’s what I told myself.

It wasn’t until I got to season 7 and the fusion dragon became a thing. It was at that point that I knew, there was no stopping me.

Whenever I make fusion aus, I always like to come up with reasons in canon for why the characters can fuse. I don’t like making it just, “oh, they can fuse. it doesn’t make sense how, but they can.” There’s nothing wrong with that. make whatever au you want I don’t care, but that’s just not how I personally like to handle these things.

So before I started making the fusion au, it actually wasn’t even gonna be a fusion au. It started as a gem au, (so Steven Universe) cause I figured, if they’re gems, then I don’t need to come up with a plausible reasoning for how they can fuse because they’re gems so it doesn’t matter. But I quickly threw that idea out the window. I had only designed Jay and Cole before deciding I didn’t like the designs. So, I decided to stick with the canon of the show.

I came up with the idea that only elemental masters could fuse because I felt it made the post sense. It also made sense that the ninja never knew about this because of Wu’s habit for not telling them things. So, now that I had the basis for how fusion worked, I could start making some designs!

But I’m getting too far ahead of myself. I still had a few guidelines I wanted to make for myself, mostly based off of other fusion aus I had seen and based off fusion aus I had made in the past.

The first thing I wanted for these designs is I didn’t want to give them any extra limbs. Again, I have nothing wrong with these types of fusions, I find them really cool, but I wanted my au to be different from others, and this was a very common thing for fusion aus. I also realized that I tended to enjoy designing fusions that didn’t have any extra body parts more than the fusions that did. Another thing I wanted to add that’s kinda similar to the extra body parts, is I didn’t want these fusions to be really big. I wanted them to stay human sized.

The next thing I wanted for these designs is I wanted them to have their own colors to represent them, (Examples: Ridge is dark blue, Fleet is purple, etc.) I saw that it was extremely common for people making ninja fusions to just use the colors of the components instead of mixing them together. This always kinda bugged me, even before I was into Ninjago again. Back when I was super obsessed with making gemsonas, it always annoyed me when people would make fusions that were just both colors of the components instead of mixing the colors together. For example, a lot of people when making Amethyst and Peridot fusions would choose gems like Atlantisite or Stichtite which were purple and green rather than a mix of the two. So I decided I wasn’t going to do that with my fusions.

And finally, I wanted my fusions to have original names. It’s common for a lot of fusions, not just Ninjago, where people take the two names of the components and put them together and BOOM, there’s the fusion’s name. I didn’t like that because a lot of the time, the names didn’t sound natural. Like, they didn’t sound like good names in general. The other common thing, this one is specific to Ninjago, people would use the ship names for the fusion’s names. I wanted my fusions to have completely original names that I came up with myself.

The main thing I wanted to convey with my fusions is that they are their own characters. They are more than just their components in one body. I wanted them to feel unique and to feel like completely new characters, like each other them were separate characters, which they are. Vulcan isn’t just Kai and Cole’s fusion, he is an entirely different character with his own wants and feelings separate from Kai and Cole, but still using the two of them as a foundation.

So, now that I had some guidelines to follow, I could finally start working on the actual designs for the fusions, starting with my personal favorite ship because of course I would want to start with that one :)

ain’t afraid to die

[Roleswap AU - Inspired by Roleswap AU event from earlier this year] Just some good ol’ fashion sadness feat. Jotaro and Kakyoin and Donut’d Masumi because one of my favorite Dir En Grey songs is on Spotify now and the translation never fails to make me feel.

The way that I used to walk with you is gone...

But still, I always walked with you, I wonder if I'll ever be able to meet you...

Snow had begun to come in on the Japanese town once more, the flakes sticking to the dying grass below. The Christmas snow had melted away about a week or 2 ago, only leaving the bitter chill of winter. Life went on as usual, busy people doing what they must while school-attending students enjoyed such an early day off after the winter’s break. It was January now, a new year means a new beginning for most.

Two students in particular walk among the flurries and crowds, one towering over in a large black gakuran and a scarf around his neck, the back of his hat busted open to show his delinquent nature. The other, shorter but still a fair amount taller than most of the crowd, has fiery red hair on display, a green gakuran on his person and white scarf around his neck. The shorter holds a small bouquet in his hands, seemingly unaffected by the cold. They’re strangely solemn to anyone else who sees them, eyes distant as they move through the people.

“...It’s been almost a year already,” the redhead speaks up, finally breaking the silence. “It feels like so much shorter than that, doesn’t it, Jotaro?”

“...Yeah…” The taller one, Jotaro, grunts out a reply, hands in his pockets. Someone accidentally bumps into him, causing him to jump slightly. Where it wouldn’t have phased him before...ever since returning to Japan, the smallest things seem to make him look twice.

“...If you’re not ready to do this,” the redhead speaks once again, amethyst eyes peering up to the taller student with worry, “I understand if you’d want to go back home-”

“Kakyoin.” He interrupts, one of his fists clenching in nerves in his pocket, though no one could see it in his stance or his face. “...I want to do this.” Jotaro’s voice was stern, but there’s something more to it. Kakyoin simply nods in response continuing to walk.

The snow falls gently on a hill Even though I can't reach you, I understand The flower in your room that you loved is now…

Even if the world turns as normal for the rest of their peers, their family, the rest of the world, it’s not so easy for Kakyoin or Jotaro. They’ve tried, God knows they’ve tried so hard to go on like normal, but it’s seemingly impossible. To their peers, they had just disappeared due to family issues for over a month or so...unknown to them, they had gone on quite the bizarre adventure that a normal person wouldn’t even dare to believe. If it hadn’t been for their friends, that trip headed to Egypt, Jotaro wouldn’t have gotten that morning kiss from his mother, her cheery demeanor lost to a terrible sickness.

They lost so much there, both thought, the crowds dying down as the teenagers moved closer to a large fenced-in area on a hill. It was a holiday, but not one that most would visit this place, which will hopefully make things easier.

Avdol, eaten alive by Vanilla Ice’s stand, his hands being the only thing to return to whatever family he had left. Polnareff probably took his death the worst.

Iggy, a dog who’s attitude hid how much he actually cared for their little group, using the last of his life to help beat Vanilla and both protect Polnareff and, in a way, avenge Avdol. After losing a leg to Pet Shop earlier, the poor thing never really stood a chance…

Kakyoin’s throat visibly tightens thinking about last year, the last person coming to mind as they go through the gates, a graveyard standing before them as the snow picks up. It could have easily been him, nearly gutted by DIO’s stand and thrown into the water tower. Thinking about it...perhaps it should’ve been so that such a precious and rare light, a smile accompanying it, wouldn’t have died out… No, he can’t think like that; a brief but bitter smile coming to his large mouth at the thought of her scolding him for thinking such a way.

Jotaro’s hand comes up to clasp onto his shoulder, head tilted down just enough for the brim of his hat to cover his eyes. They continue up the trail, a row of stones coming into view.

The day of last years final snow The promises that were hard to exchange When I remember them, they melt, and spill from my hands...

They stop in front of the row once they reach it, eyes glancing over the names. There’s some they aren’t familiar with, others they heard in stories fondly recollecting the past. Jotaro’s stops at a black stone, the etchings on it in a gold covering to help it stand out against the dark color, the flakes inside sparkling almost like stars against the light and the snow. He nudges Kakyoin and looks in it’s direction, the two moving to stand in front of it. A name in Japanese is dug into the stone, a cherry blossom underneath the characters. The date under it read 1972-1989, flowers left there from someone before slightly wilted under the cold.

[HAMASAKI MASUMI]

A shuddered breath leaves Kakyoin as he kneels down, the small bouquet left next to the flowers left from a previous visit, most likely her mother. They were red roses, a flower that he had remembered were her favorite kind. Jotaro was already lighting an incense in the small section underneath, shielding it from the cold breeze. They stood side-by-side, silent as they looked over the tombstone.

“...It’s been a while, hasn’t it, Masumi-chan?” Kakyoin speaks first, his lips slightly twitching upwards. “We haven't seen you since...since the ceremony...we’re sorry it took so long.” He glances over at Jotaro, head still tilted down for the hat to cover his eyes as he simply nods in agreement.

“We both got accepted into a university, so once we graduate, we’re all set!” He spoke as if she were standing there in front of them. “Jotaro got accepted into the Marine Biology program with flying colors; he’ll get to see all kinds of places to look at different sea life. As for me, I may just get my basics out of the way before deciding. I’m stuck between computer programming and teaching personally…”

“. . . I say he’d be good either way,” Jotaro speaks after many moments of silence, still standing still with his hands in his pockets. The quiet meets with them again, only the sound of the breeze and it’s wind blowing through the wind, carrying the smoke of the incense off to wherever it’ll be carried. They both seem to be lost in thought, eyes garnering that distant look again…

All alone by the window, just staring at the snow While remembering you, seeing you in the glass I give you a final kiss

The blood rushed out faster than he thought as Kakyoin struggled to pull Masumi’s body up to the rooftop and away from the fight with DIO. He took off his gakuran top, trying to stop the bleeding, but it was too much. He looked around, trying to catch sight of Jotaro while Mr. Joestar faced off against the vampire. Polnareff tried but...he was knocked to the side. If any good came of this, the blow she took only confirmed Kakyoin’s suspicions of DIO’s power.

He could stop time, control it as if it were his own, even if just for small amounts of time. At this point, Mr. Joestar had fallen and Jotaro stepped up, his aura more intimidating than before.

“K...Kakyoin-kun, are you ok…?” The struggled voice in his arms caught his attention, head snapping back down at the girl bleeding out.

“I-I’m fine, thanks to you,” he muttered. “Don’t talk, ok? I’m sure we can get you some help after DIO’s defeated, you just need to hold on and-!”

“I...I don’t think I’ll get to go back home…” she choked out, more blood coming from the corners of her mouth. “Kakyoin-kun...I believe in you and the others...you can beat him…” Masumi coughed, more of the crimson substance coming up.

“Y-You will! We’ll go home together and you’ll get better, and...and…” The truth began to dawn on him. At this rate, there was no way that, even with any help from the Speedwagon Foundation, there was no fixing this.

“...Please take care of yourselves...and keep an eye on my family, ok…?” Without realizing, tears were streaming down the redhead’s face. A shaky hand came up to wipe away the tears, brushing against the scars over his eyes. Despite dying, she still mustered a smile for him.

“ Come on, smile, don't cry anymore From here on, I'll always be watching you… ”

All he could do was nod. He leaned down, a chaste kiss to the girl’s brow in comfort before looking down to her again.

“I...I always loved you and Jotaro-kun...I just wish...I had been able to tell you properly...please...go save...everyone…”

Once Jotaro had beaten DIO, Kakyoin having joined not long after placing her down, he saw the damage that was done, Kakyoin telling him her final words. Although he didn’t voice it, Star Platinum’s angry voiced ‘ORA’ and the large hole left in that rooftop was enough…the frustrations of losing someone else…

Jotaro was brought back to reality by a sniffle, one of Kakyoin’s hands gently touching the stone in front of them and a tear leaving his face. The snow seemed to pick up it’s pace, more flakes coming down than ever.

“...We thought...going on with life would be the best way....we could never forgive ourselves for what happened, and going back to ordinary life would simply push it away, trying to get through the last year of school and live like nothing happened...but it was impossible…”

Without realizing, a tear had left the delinquent's eye as well. They both came back with baggage that couldn’t be healed, at least not for a long time. Jotaro reached out as well, fingers brushing against the inscription of her name.

“...Sorry...for not coming sooner, Masumi-chan…”

They both felt at fault for what happened. If Kakyoin hadn’t foolishly set up his 50-meter Emerald Splash so boldly in front of DIO...if Jotaro had been quicker to get there…both boys blamed themselves for all the deaths, but especially so for hers.

A breeze brushed by their faces, the phantom touches of fingertips across their cheeks. When they looked up, there was nothing...the incense had stopped burning. A faint whisper heard on the wind, perhaps an illusion of the wind blowing through the trees.

“Don’t cry…”

The four seasons, and your colors, will soon vanish The snow melts, and flowers bloom on the street corner The "colors" that you saw, softly begin to melt

The day of the years final colors...

After that day, they tried to visit more often. Whether it was by themselves, with the Hamasaki family, with their own families, or even with Polnareff when he came into town, they always made time to visit at least once a month.

The two students stood on the corner they all used to meet at. The weather this morning said that the weather should start to warm up after the chill March brought. Looking down, Jotaro noticed a small flower sprouting from the bottom of the sign there, innocent little buds of spring coming to meet the coming warmth. One of the few snowflakes falling lands in his palm, melting as quickly as it came.
