I know that Wild is a team known for their good defense, but I really never would have thought that Eagle was an important part of it as much as Lion and Chicken are... I'm really interested in the manga representation of this team, although the team come up as the "mean players" kinda thing. Big fan that Tarzan Kick is represented as a raw dropkick, too.

Part four of roommates idea

The officer clicked his pen again, signaling he took to long to answer. Steve faced him again, “Sorry I- Shit. Eddie he wasn't- he wouldn't do this shit. He's afraid of fucking dogs. Not even the real big ones either, he definitely wouldn't kill someone. He cries when he watches Bambi and gore freaks him out.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes! I'm absolutely-fucking-positive! He looks all tough and shit but he's not, he's just scared. Fuck that sounds- so bad but- God why don't you believe me and Wayne?”

The officer sighs, ”Eddie sold drugs, did drugs, it's entirely possible he had to many and did something…Not entirely in his regular character.”

Steve bit his lip, “He wouldn’t.”

Steve sat in the family video, he's been distant since the shift started and Robin couldn’t understand why.

That was, until the TV showed the news of a Hawkins student dying. Did he somehow know?

Not much later, Max and Dustin came in yelling about phones, and were quick to start using them.

Steve didn’t even seem shocked when they talked about Eddie being accused. When they finally got a lead about a ‘Reefer Rick’, his eyes lit up.

“I know where he is.”

“Hello?”

Steve looked around the boathouse, “What a dump.”

His eyes landed on tarp covering a boat, “Eddie?"

“Eddie, are you here?"

Now, Steve wasn't an expert, but that tarp looked a lot like it just moved, and if it wasn’t Eddie then-

He grabbed an oar that was leaning against the wall, and began poking it.

“What are you doing?”

“It moved.”

“So take the tarp off!”

Steve gave Dustin an incredulous look.

“If you're so brave, why don’t you take the tarp off!”

It was silent for a moment, then-

“…Steve?”

The man in question let out a relieved sigh, and smiled. “Eds!”

Steve drops the oar, a resounding clatter banging off the walls as he flings the tarp off the boat.

And there he is, Eddie Munson in all his glory, sitting in a fetal position and clutching a broken bottle to his chest like a lifeline.

As soon as he seemed to see Steve, he quickly threw the bottle to the side and stands up to step out the boat.

“Steve, thank fuck.”

Eddie engulfs him in a hug, pressing his face into his neck.

Steve bites his lip, “Hey, hey its okay.”

Steve slid them down carefully, positioning his back against a column. It was a bit awkward, with them being similar height, but he made it work.

“She- I didn’t kill her! I don’t, she started fucking floating. Then her limbs snapped, god Stevie, please you gotta believe me.”

He looked over to the party, Robin’s eyebrows were pinched, Max was darting her eyes between the two, and Dustin looked like he was about to say something.

Finally, he gathered the courage. “ Eddie, we believe you. What you saw, it’s been happening for years. Well, not this particularly but the supernatural.”

Eddie peeked his head out, “ What do you mean?”

Dustin crouches down awkwardly, hands together. “Theres another world. Its kind of like this one, but its terrifying. There are things there. Its called the upside down. We’ve been fighting it since 1983 when Will went missing.“

Steve feels him tense. “ ‘We?’ ‘Fighting?’, How do you fight an invisible force?”

“Demogorgons, demodogs, government people, russians. We’ve had to face them for years. Steve and I were there in 1983, Max in 1984, and Robin just joined in last year with the Russians and the mall.”

Eddie’s eyes widened, and he turned his head slightly to face Steve. “ Is that why you were so beat up last year?”

Steve shrugged, “ Yeah. Pretty much.”

Eddie burrowed his head into his neck again. “ Jesus H. Christ.”

“Look, we’re here to help you Eds, that murder in the trailer? They were asking me questions, they think its you. Wouldn’t let up on the idea no matter how much I insisted it wasn’t.”

Eddie looked at Steve with a mix of fear and gratitude, “What do we do? Can’t exactly waltz up and tell them it’s supernatural.”

Steve hummed, “We need to figure out what happened to that Chrissy, and clear your name.”

Max stepped forward, “We’ll help you, Eddie. We’ve faced worse than this.”

Eddie nodded, “Okay. Shit, we’re really doing this..”

Robin glanced around, “Not to interrupt or anything, but maybe we should do the whole story? Like, you guys didn’t even mention the super power girl, and shes like major isn’t she?”

The long haired metalhead nodded, giving Steve a squeeze before letting go and standing.

He turned to face Robin a grimace on his face, “ Right, yeah, full story. Super power girl, sure.”

Steve patted his shoulder, when did he even get up, and after a second, bumped him with his hip.

“Buckle up, Eds. This is gonna take a while.”

honestly, the duffer brothers have fucked up with a lot of things, but one of the big ones for me was them not letting Eddie say “i’m glad to be with you, Dustin Henderson. Here at the end of all things.” While Dustin was holding Eddie’s dying body in his arms.

Secret relationships kinda suck irl but secret relationship ronance is something that can be so personal

Robin feeling powerless, angry and jealous when boys try to flirt with her girlfriend, sometimes able to push them away but most times feeling like she can't say a thing lest dangerous rumors about her closeness with Nancy spreading.

Nancy getting irritated when Robin gets a bit too close or brushes her hand in public because they need to be careful, only to feel bad about it later and hugging her and not letting her go.

Sneaking quick kisses in the school's bathroom when no one is around. Nancy driving her to her house after an entire day of needing some alone time with her girlfriend, desperately. Parent-approved sleepovers where they do things most girl friends wouldn't do during sleepovers. Hiding secrets from their friends, only Steve and maybe Dustin knowing, because they don't know how the rest will react. Holding hands when no one is watching. Keeping watch during an Upside Down attack and brushing the other's hair while she sleeps. Nancy defending Robin with guns if needed and Robin defending Nancy with her silver tongue. Vecna using their secret against them and them debating whether they should tell the others the whole story or not.

I love the trope of Eddie knowing he's meant to die in the upside down, i love him being aware of his own doom by the narrative, I eat this shit up everytime but I've been thinking a lot about greek mythology and steddie and what if it was reversed?

What if Eddie, well versed in greek mythology, in the tropes and myths and tragedies looks at the always the hero Steve Harrington and sinks with the impending thought of heros don't get happy ending?

What if Eddie says "we're not heros" and means we're not going to die like ones, he means only heros die

What if Eddie says "Steve" and means please don't be a hero, please don't let it be a tragedy, please be just Steve

What if when the bats come he comes to the realization there needs to be a hero in this story and there needs to be an ending worthy of one and deciding it can't be Steve?

What if his sacrifice is not an impending looming thing on the narrative of his life but a choice? What if- what's then huh?

I know that Eddie is all loud and metal but consider this:

After all is done and dealt with, the kids ask him what his Vecna song would have been and he just answers what is expected of him like Metallica or Black Sabath or Dio. And they all seem to buy it because why wouldn't it be?

But then one day he's alone with Steve in his living room, sitting on the floor with their backs against the couch, sharing a cigarrette, and the radio starts playing Desperado by The Eagles and Steve takes a look at him and he just knows because it makes so much fucking sense. And Eddie is trying very hard not to cry because he loves the hell out of that song but it always makes him cry and leaves him feeling raw and exposed, devoid of all the layers he uses to protect himself against the world. So he's not sure he can handle that on top of the enormous effort he's doing to hide his massive crush on Steve fucking Harrington.

And Steve doesn't know what to do with the revelation that this is Eddie's song, because it's endearing to see Eddie singing softly like that, it really is, but it's also kind of sad because he thinks he understands why the lyrics seem to get to him on such an intimate level and Steve can't help to think that Eddie deserves to feel loved every minute of every day.

So he shuffles closer to him and wraps his arms around him so gently and caring and like he's truly seeing him that Eddie feels like he might just die there. Tears well up on his eyes and he closes them just as Steve guides Eddie's head towards his shoulder and he just can't hold it any longer and starts crying his eyes out. And it's not pretty, he's sobing on a stupid yellow sweater that only Steve could pull of and he's stroking his hair and letting him cry it all out, all the fears and the lonelines and the desperation while holding him and just telling him "it's okay Eds, I've got you. I'm here, you're not alone anymore". And he sounds so convinced that Eddie let's himself believe that he means it, that he's not going away.

"But you only want the ones

Sorry that I've posted nothing. I tried to schedule a series of posts where I go through the playstyle of each of Wild's benched players, but Tumblr drafts failed me and they have been wiped out of this timeline. Whooops??

Today I'm not feeling bummed out, so let's talk about Steve Eagle! The number 7 in this team! Owashi, for the japanese-loving folk. Honestly, although it's probably for fashion, I like to think he can pull his hoodie down to hide his face and look through the goggles! Probably something he would do once he gets real, I think it fits him due to the role he plays.

What a player! He plays in the middlefield, having remarkable dribbling skills and having decentish speed, although not nearly as fast as Cheetah or Mouse. Just like the rest of the team, his jumps pack a lot of power. Noow, despite being on the midfield, he's an AGGRESSIVE midfielder! Meaning that he, more often than not, joins into the offense together with the fowards. I imagine he acts as a playmaker, making pride of the number 7 on his back. Has a keen sight, swooping though any gaps in the defense of the enemy team, giving instructions to his teammates and, overall, acting as Cheeta's right hand.

Want to know something curious? It's stated that his special technique, Condor Dive, it's a difficult hissatsu to master. This is due to the combination of the jump power required to perform the technique, but also the ability to actually, well, land the header. In case of failing, Eagle falls to the floor at high speeds- No need to explain the origin of his scars now, right?

Although not very powerful against experienced goalkeepers, we DO know know he uses this in combination with Gorila's Tarzan Kick to change the trajectory of the shot and catch the enemy by surprise! Given how chain shots work in this series, it's fair to assume that this combination is actually stronger than it seems.

Noow! Time for my quick-fire round of HCs!

He has a favoritism for passing to and making plays with Cheetah. He knows he's reliable! Eagle is a player from 2nd year, meaning that he was in the team when Cheetah was the captain, and his strategies involuntarily (and voluntarily) tend to involve him the most.

After losing to Raimon, Cheetah tried to convince Gorila, Lion, Boar AND Racoon (Not Bullford) to try to dominate the Inazuma Otoshi themselves, but was turned down by all of them. (Specially by Racoon) Eagle encouraged him however, telling that he could dominate the technique by himself without need of another player to act as a platform (He already dominates Dynamite Shot) He has been training his overhead volleys since even harder, and Eagle keeps trying to bring out the absolute best out of him.

Although Condor Dive is his signature technique, he aims higher than that! He's practicing Hawk Shot AND Eagle Buster! Performing these with Gorila to throw him high up, and with Chicken tagging along for the second.

Although unable to dominate Cheetah's high-speed dribbling, he has managed to learn Whirlwind Cut as a dribble tehnique, but after watching the rest of the Football Frontier he has attempted to use Illusion Ball ONCE. He goes up the field steadily.

Him, Charmeleon and Panda are considered the pretty boys of Wild Academy, although Charmeleon has more fans and recieves more support than the other two.
