Headcanons: Eddie Brock and how he flirts, and how he shows intimacy (physical and not)

Flirting:

Though Eddie is not shy with his flirting, he did tend to fumble through it at first, almost as though he is nervous.

He was mostly nervous with his flirting when the two of you had just met.

He would flirt, but it would be awkward and rushed, but you found it appealing and cute way.

Once the two of you became friends, he was more open and forward with his flirting.

Eddie does not shy away from compliments, he is always willing and ready to tell you you look great, compliment the way you did something, how you said something, etc.

The compliments always have an underlying flirtiness, that you might not always pick up on.

"You look great" "I'm wearing sweatpants." "Yeah, and?"

He LOVES if you get all bashful and shy if he makes a more forward comment, and it only encourages him to do it more.

Sometimes you aren't sure if he is jut teasing you to rile you up, or if he genuinely thinks the thing he says.

He means all of them.

It's not until he genuinely asks you out on a date that you truly know he meant everything.

Now, if you flirted with him, he would shut down for half a second.

A flirty remark or a teasing comment and his mind goes blank.

He gets a bit flustered, rarely able to think of something to respond with quickly.

The flirting does not stop when you two are in a relationship. In fact it just gets worse.

And by worse, I mean more frequent, and the comments themselves are full of more innuendos and private jokes than before.

After you're in a relationship he gets better at comebacks when you flirt, since he expects it more often.

But every once and a while, especially in public, you get him good, and he can't help but stare after you with mild alarm and adoration.

Intimacy:

Eddie loves physical intimacy. Cuddling, kissing, hugging, hand holding, *clears throat* Et cetera.

He loves just being close to you, if you are near him, he feels comforted and happy.

He often presses kisses to your body. Your bare shoulders, wrist, hands cheek, temple, forehead, you name it.

One night he took it upon himself to kiss every spot, freckle, mole, and scar he could see on your body.

But he also shows intimacy with more subtle actions as well.

Placing his jacket over your shoulders when you're on a walk.

Making sure his hands brush or briefly hold yours as he hands you something.

Taking your hand when he helps you step up or down a tall step or ledge.

Placing his hand on your lower back when you are walking together.

And then there are the non-physical types of intimacy.

Intellectual intimacy.

He loves having long-winded discussions about various topics, especially when you are helping him on a story.

When you are both talking passionately abut the same things, it helps him feel closer to you in ways physical intimacy cannot.

Recreational Intimacy.

Lounging together on the couch, your legs in his lap, his hand absentmindedly drawing shapes on your legs as you both read and/or work.

Going on walks hand in hand, barely talking, just being.

Your weekend trips to the arcade, or local theater, routine centered around each other

Cooking breakfast or dinner together side by side.

One of you washing dishes while the other dries.

Sharing in domestic bliss with you often makes him feel more intimately close with you than anything else. You are his life partner after all.

Ooooh bestie, just had a great idea! Okay so idk what timeline this would be but reader is friends with Elena et al. and they need something from Klaus but nobody knows where he is. They convince reader to ask him for help but she's like 'yeah right, he's gonna just ignore me'

But then he actually shows up and she's shocked but pleased. And if you could include the dialogue "you came?" "you called" that would just be the cherry on top 🍒❤️

He said he was loyal but this is not what I thought he meant.

I was so set on the fact that I wasn't anything special to him, that when the rest of the group requested that I reach out to Klaus, I expected him to run the other way and not care about what my 'group of misfits' got ourselves into again. He's been helpful for us in the past, sure, he's shown us that he's not completely an enemy but he isn't exactly a person that we all trust.

"I knew it." Elena chuckles, patting my back as Klaus trots towards us, leaves crunching with every step he takes. A bashful smile slides across his lips as Elena shoves me towards him, a snort leaving Damon at the physical and metaphorical shove towards Klaus.

I look up at him through my lashes, nervously biting at the inside of my cheek as he gives me playful shrug, almost asking me 'well?'.

"You came?" I breathe, not expecting him to actually show up when I need him but his brows furrow, offended at my question.

"You called. Of course I came." I can hear the snickers from behind me, my eyes turning to slits as I send them a glare over my shoulder, urging them to leave us alone. They move slowly but they eventually leave us be, my body vibrating as he takes a step towards me, his hands reaching out to rest on my upper arms. "You look beautiful." He whispers, reaching up to drug his knuckles over my jaw.

"Thank you." I whisper, brain blanking for a moment as he smiles, eyes flickering back and forth between mine as the forest moves around us. He looks happier since the last time I saw him, jaw unclenched, hair tousled, bright eyes; Elena would call that the 'Y/n effect' but I just like to call it good nights sleep and some peace in the supernatural world.

"I'm afraid I know you better than you think. I know that you didn't call me just to ogle me so," a bashful laugh escapes me as I take a tentative step away from him, putting some distance between us so I can take a breath, "why don't you tell me what's troubling you and I'll handle it." A relieved grin spreads across my face at the realization that he's here now, that I don't need to worry anymore. Reaching out, I take his hand in mine before tugging him in the direction of the car.

"Oh, I'm sure you will."

ABSOLUTELY SMITTEN by your Good Omens fanart! :3 Will it be available to purchase anywhere? Also wanted to share a fun fact about this concept : in the late 80's there was a TV show called The StoryTeller, with a spin-off about Greek myths. One of the episodes was about Icarus, where Daedalus, implide to have caused his student's fall, was played by Derek Jacobi, who also plays Metatron. It is likely that in season 3 we will see Crowley's "fall" and find out that it was also because of Metatron!

I'm so sorry, I don't have a shop anymore unfortunately. I used to have a RedBubble but I had to close it because I was flagged every two minutes for copyright infringement. Maybe I should give it a try again ? There are Society6 and InPrnt I could try. I'm a bit afraid of InPrnt, though: apparently, you have to submit your art to the community and they vote to see if you are "good" enough to sell your art there which I'm a bit afraid to do to be honest. 😳

In the late 80's there was a TV show called The StoryTeller...

I remember this show! I had to Google it because it wasn't called the same in France (for the four Frogs in the audience, it was Monstres et Merveilles) but yes, I used to watch it. My main memory of it was the dog, though. 😁

Apparently, what you are talking about it a spin-off called The StoryTeller: Greek Myths, from 1991. I'm going to see if I can find some eps on YouTube.

Otherwise, when it comes to Good Omens, the wait for Season 3 is going to be so long! It's not like Supernatural where you had to wait 3 months for the new season to start. Here, it can take years, maybe ONLY two if we are lucky. 😭 I'm aware that it takes time to write and produce a show like this one but still, I want to see what's next. 😁

Most of the stories I write are inspired by two things: fairytales and horror. A majority of my WIPs are either directly inspired or loosely based on some fairytale, folklore, or myth, and most are part of some genre of horror, whether it be Gothic, psychological, folk, survival, or supernatural. Also a lot of my writing influence comes from authors like Angela Carter, Sarah Waters, Caitlin Starling, Shirley Jackson, and Robin McKinley.

Ghosts Plague These Halls || Novel || Gothic Romance + Historical (1890s) + Paranormal + Gothic Horror + Fairytale Retelling (Beauty and the Beast + Eros and Psyche) || 3rd Draft Edits + My Main WIP

Comp: Crimson Peak + The Bloody Chamber + La Belle et la Bete/Panna a Netvor

Whitechapel, London 1894.  Sophie Wickes and her family struggle to survive, melancholy eats away at her father more and more with each passing day, and her passion for cultivating flowers procures no income. She must swallow her pride and set aside her hatred for England’s aristocracy when she’s offered a chance of employment by the reclusive Lord Edgar Cushing to tend the gardens of his Rosenthorne Hall. However, the estate, its gardens, and their master is nothing what Sophie expected. The house? Rotting, dilapidated, hideous. The gardens? The husk of something alive, whimsical, and beautiful. The master? Faceless, nothing more than a voice from the shadows. Despite her fear and anger, Sophie becomes enthralled by the garden’s potential for mystic, untainted beauty, and she develops a close friendship with Lord Cushing, even though he is nothing but a mere whisper of darkness that pleads for her to never seek him out. However, whatever enchantment the gardens and Lord Cushing’s voice bring her shatters as she begins to receive nightly visitations from a crooked-jawed phantom and butterflies who’s wings whisper of a bloody past and the truth behind the faceless lord's gentlemanly masquerade.

Comp: The Fly... but make it snakes.

In a loose (and bloody) retelling of the King Lindworm folktale set against the backdrop of 1980s Milwaukee, two people try to navigate their unorthodox romance while an arcane, snake-like infection afflicts, and starts to change, one of them. Temperance Cavell, a six-foot tall woman living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, lives a quiet, unexciting, and demure existence running a convenience store with her mother. But despite her mother's overbearing nature, the nonstop caring of her ailing grandmother, and her near-nonexistent social life, she cannot complain. This life is quiet, she’s (somewhat) in control, and nothing is unexpected… That is until Jack Turner, the motorcycle-riding kleptomaniac with a heart of gold, bursts into her store one Saturday afternoon, and between them a romance reluctantly blooms. But such love is swiftly threatened to shatter when Jack’s body begins to betray him, contorting him into something that is completely, and utterly, non-human.

Comp: Jane Eyre + Bluebeard's Bride + The Death of Jane Lawrence + Mexican Gothic

November, 1899. While on holiday in Cambridge and attending museum lectures with her mother, Jane Sterling seeks to make this her chance to officially pursue her love of paleontology. While her family encourages the pursuit of passions and challenging rigid social norms, the institutes in place hinder her passion, making her resort to dressing brightly and speaking loudly for attention. Jane's chance comes to reveal itself in the form of the wealthy and reclusive Sir Terence Hayes, who’s come in search for her father, the esteemed paleobotonist Dr. Samson Sterling, to appraise fossils found in his garden. Her mother eagerly volunteers Jane to go in Dr. Sterling’s place as he remains ill in America, and Terence brings her to his isolated family's estate in the vast, deep, muddy marshes of Wolf’s Run. And the land is shrouded in urban legends. There are whispers of 'The Wolf's Run Beast,' the 'Monster of the Marshes,' that haunts the land under the cover of night, and as Terence leaves Jane to her work he is hell-bent that she's to return to Cambridge before nightfall. However, freak storms rage, causing the marshes' waters to rise and wash out the roads in flash floods before Jane has a chance to return, leaving her stranded at Wolf’s Run - and at the mercy of all that lurks there. As night looms, the staff hastily depart, an eerie silence falls, Terence forbids her from even coming near the cellar, and, most importantly, he warns her against leaving her room before dawn. All is merely a strange act to Jane, brushing it off as the eccentricities of an Englishman, until something comes scratching at her door, hungering for her blood. What started as a mere chance at becoming known swiftly becomes a tumultuous game of blood, teeth, survival, love, and salvation - and Jane must prepare to sharpen teeth of her own if she's to survive the horrors of the Wolf's Run marshes.

Loosely based on the fairytales Sleeping Beauty and East of the Sun, West of the Moon, as well as Scandinavian folklore, The Faeries and The Lark follows three faeries–spirits of nature–raising a human child they’ve named Lark, the princess of a sun-worshipping kingdom wiped out by a subterranean society of trolls. The faeries devote their lives to protecting Lark from the worlds of man by raising her to believe she’s one of the fae, and to keep her deep in the forest so that she can remain hidden from the trolls that restlessly hunt for the princess that escaped their massacre. But everything the three faeries worked hard for is put to the test when Lark encounters a human named Sigrid, the toughened, sword-wielding chancellor’s daughter from a neighboring moon-worshipping kingdom that’s threatened to be swallowed by the fairies’ forest, and every aspect of her life as she’d known them threaten to crumble around her.

Voting is open to everyone. When you complete the poll, you will get the option to vote for your top three themes. This is to ensure that we choose a theme with strong interest across the board, however only one theme will win. As you choose your top choices, keep in mind that you are voting for theme, not prompt. This means we will need to break the winning theme down into 7 smaller prompts. Once our theme is chosen, we will open the ask and submission boxes for prompt suggestions, and any prompts fitting the chosen theme can be submitted.

Please note, you may not see your theme suggestion exactly as you sent it; some very similar suggestions or very specific suggestions have been combined or generalized to ensure that we will be able to create multiple prompt options in the next phase.

Silk Press Tips for Natural Hair

My head is home to a mixture of type 3C and type 4A hair. The hair stands are thick and my overall hair density is high. It sucks in any moisture around it like a dementor’s kiss stealing a soul.

Therefore, it’s been quite a journey trying to find the correct products and technique to create a truly long lasting silk press. This method has protected my hair during a blizzard in Quebec and the humid heat of the Deep South. Not a frizz in sight!

The silk press typically lasts for weeks. It’s rare that I have to do a retouch.

Products Used:

CHI Silk Infusion

Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment

A Boar Bristle Brush

A Rat Tail Comb

Any Hair Dryer

Method:

This is always performed in freshly washed hair. It’s not mandatory, but there’s zero build up on clean hair which will give you the best results.

After washing, I moisturize my hair and separate it into sections for manageability during the blow drying process

Next, I spray my hair with Color Wow Dreamcoat. This is activated by heat, therefore I blow dry my hair after applying it.

Once my hair is blown out. I apply the CHI Silk infusion. A little goes a long way. I normally roll my eyes at the dime size recommendations on hair product bottles but in this case it’s accurate. I used approx a dime sized amount, or less, for each section of my hair.

Last, I used the chase method to straighten my hair.

The chase method consists of running a hair instrument, typically a fine tooth comb or brush, through your hair quickly followed by a flat iron.

The flat iron is chasing the comb/brush. It’s right on its tail, hence the chase in chase method.

I usually use a rat tail comb, unless I want my hair to be more voluminous. If I desire more volume, I use the chase method with a boar brush instead. This gives more of a smooth blowout effect rather than a silk press. Nonetheless, it’s still a beautiful style.

It is rare that more than two passes are done. If you have to do multiple passes (3+) with your flat iron, you need to:

Section your hair into smaller sections

Make sure the comb/brush is actually smoothing your hair out

Make certain that your hair is properly detangled

Check to see if you applied enough heat protectant.

TOP 10 LIVE-ACTION FAIRY TALE MOVIES

Note: this is just a list of personal favourite live-action fairy tale movies, not a list of "what are the objective best fairy tale movies".

To make the list slightly organized and consistent, i setted up some basic rules:

1° They must have been theatrically released. Direct- to-Video or Made-for-TV releases, like the Hallmark Hall of Fame series, the Muppets Fairy Tale TV specials or Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, will not be counted here.

2° They must be adaptations of pre existing fairy tales, be they directly collected from oral tradition like the Brothers Grimm tales, or literary tales slightly inspired by elements of oral tradition, like the works of Andersen. Movie script original stories like Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal or adaptations of fantasy novels like Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Pinocchio will not be on the list.

Now that the rules are set, let's go onto the countdown.

10° Snow White and The Three Stooges (1961)

Got the tenth place on this list because of how much i love the found family dinamic developed between Snow White, the Prince and the Three Stooges (who got the role of the Seven Dwarfs)

09° Jak se budi princezny (1977)

Princess Ruzhenka is a very outspoken and charismatic encarnation of the princess Sleeping Beauty, and because of that her and the movie she stars in has winned my hearth.

08° The Glass Slipper (1955)

This is one of the early cinematic adaptations of the Cinderella tale that experimented with turning the supernatural elements more subtle, exploring a more grounded love story between the heroine and the Prince, wich would be a very influential aproach over later adaptations. The highlight are the performances of Leslie Caron as the strong tempered but vulnerable Ella and Estelle Winwood as the unconventionally wise Mrs. Toquet.

07° La Belle et la Bete (1946)

Probably the most historically influential fairy tale movie of all time, in his masterpiece Jean Cocteau tooked what was considered a simple morality tale about a woman preparing to marriage, and turned it into a study about the minds of two complex characters in search of deep connection and their place in the world

06° Three Wishes for Cinderella (1973)

The late Libuse Safrankova brought with her performance one of the most funny, adventurous energetic and sassy encarnations of Cinderella. This is her movie, where she gets to be a scrappy maid, a confident warrior, and am elegant damsel, all at once, and i forever will be glad of finding her.

05° The Scarlet Flower (1977)

This live action film adaptation of Sergey Aksakov's take on the 'Beast and Beauty' type of story is very unique in its exploration of the russian countryside and its folklore, the plant inspired design of the Beast, and in its slow paced storytelling that invests more in the characters facial expressions and body language than in dialogue, all factors that have captivated me.

04° Zolushka (1947)

My number one favorite Cinderella live action movie. When i watch this movie and see the costume and set designs, the theatrical acting styles, the coloring work, the music, the small nods to other Perrault tales, i feel transported to my childhood, touched by how those artists joined together to bring one of my favourite storybooks to life with all emotional sincerity and no hint of irony.

03° Panna a Netvor (1978)

While Jean Cocteau set the stage for using the 'Beast and Beauty' type of tale as the basis for a cinematic psychological character study, 1978's Panna a Netvor went even deeper with the idea, choosing not to use any villain or external antagonistic force and instead completely centering the heroine and the Beast's characters as they interact in the closed space of the old castle and talk about the fears they have of their own feelings. Both get equally developed in this beautifull coming of age gothic fairy tale.

02° Donkeyskin (1970)

A loving homage to the storytelling legacy of both Charles Perrault and Jean Cocteau, this movie is the combination of a Medieval Book of Hours with the 1970s Psychodelia, wich when mixed resulted in something uniquely beautifull and colorfull.

01° The Company of Wolves (1984)

Based on Little Red Riding Hood, wich is my favorite fairy tale, i love the fact that this movie explores the fairy story at its root: the people, most of wich were working class women, who reunited their loved ones to tell them a story they learned in their dreams, and from those stories people would take different lessons about topics such as nature, spirituality, love, family, sexuality, life. Following Rosaleen's dream, where she and her Grandmother shares tales about humans turned wolves, we are invited to reflect about the roles of man and women in society and their arbitrareness, and how those roles can be subverted once we take consciousness that we all share a dark, wolf like side. All this, and more, are what makes The Company of Wolves my number favorite live action fairy-tale film adaptation.

Honorable Mentions:

Beauty and the Beast (1960)

This movie presented an interesting combination of fairy tale romance with political drama in an italian renaissance setting and a Beast who would turn human during day light, all very creative ideas that deserve to be complemented.

The Slipper and The Rose (1976)

This adaptation of the tale of Cinderella has great performances, beautifull costumes and magnificent songs by the Sherman Brothers. It was just that The Glass Slipper, wich shares the same 18th Century Setting, has personally touched me more.

Helloooo there.

Yes! We'll be there al 0830 pm tonight at ET time. Half an hour before the episode airs just make tests and solve any technical issues.

But as usual in our room we have a second airing once I can "aquaire" the episode to watch it once more without comercial breaks. And of course make use good use and abuse of the pause, to... well, have a profound observation of the scenes where Misha will appear. You know. FOR SCIENCE!

We use to do this secondary screening, with all the clowns of our Circus, to observe under the clinical lense of science (Aka fucking obsessively) all de Destiel interactions. We even watched random heavy Destiel Supernatural episodes, just to further our souls into the pit of our own hellerism.

So, yeah. We probably be there till 01:00 ET time if there is enough audience and hype to watch this episode, or other Misha/Cas/Destiel /Cockles thing related.

I'm planing to screen the Jibcon cockles panel while waiting for the episode.

Next week. For the next episode I'll be re-screening this pilot while waiting for the episode 2 of Gotham Knights.

Either way if there is enough demand, we can manage to open the room on a weekend on a more democratic time zone to have a collective meltdown when the episodes of the "sex scenes" are out. (I need a moment to recover from that idea 😑😅🤤)

ST OC CHALLENGE :: FREAKS & GEEKS SUPPORTING CAST ↳ day one, the latest passenger on our curiosity voyage

BEX KING: played by Kiana Madeira, Bex King is the newest member of Hawkins High alongside Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, Alicia, and newcomer Billy Hargrove. A political activist and member of the marching band, she often slacks off in school but manages to scrape by. A self-described freak, Bex finds herself pulled into the supernatural parts of Hawkins during the Summer of 1985, when a trip to the new Starcourt Mall ends up threatening to reveal a secret she’s been harboring since she was little.

SAMANTHA KING: played by Jenna Ortega, Samantha King is the younger sister of Bex King and is not happy with her father’s recent move to Hawkins. She’s even less happy with the fact that the Middle School doesn’t allow electric guitars in the band, which means the only pastime she somewhat enjoys is tormenting the four nerds that ride their bikes everywhere they go. Until her first Halloween at Hawkins ends up throwing her headfirst into a world of monsters and government conspiracy, straight out of ET.

CHARLIE BRENNER: A mysterious figure from Eleven’s past, Dylan O’Brien plays the only son of Dr. Martin Brenner. Charlie--it turns out--is like Eleven in a lot of different ways, and is one of the only figures at the lab who cared about her well-being. Back in society after spending the last four years on the outskirts, he’s having some difficulty adjusting to the new rules and blasé nature of the teens he hangs out with. His only solace is in the fact that his friend Alicia seems just as uneasy as he does with the sudden drop in activity, at least until Halloween of 1984.

MARCUS KING: played by Pedro Pascal, Marcus King is the patriarch of the King family. A former cop turned mechanic and single father of two girls, he made the decision to move to Hawkins, Indiana after a vicious custody battle with his ex-wife for some peace and quiet. But he’s not even there for a few months when he starts to notice things that don’t add up. The Police Chief meeting with government officials too high up to care about a place as small as this and the unusual circumstances regarding the disappearances of Alicia Henderson, Will Byers, and Jane Ives. Something strange is afoot in Hawkins, and he’s determined to find out what it is.
