Learning to Love Epilogue
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: 18+, langauge, angst, fluff, mentions of bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, fake relationship, eventual smut, minor enemies to lovers trope.
Summary: It's not uncommon for you to be shamed for your size, it is however uncommon to be told that no one would ever date you because of it. Rafe on the other hand is used to being called a jerk, that is until he is accused of seeing people for only what's on the surface. It's purely coicidental you two meet right after these accusations are thrown your way. So even though you two don't know each other, and probably never would've looked the others way before this, now you're both going to prove a point. It's simple really, prove others wrong and don't fall in love. Easier said than done.

Rafe wasn’t sure what to do. Now knowing you had overheard some of his conversation he knew how bad it looked. He was prepared to fix it, thing was he needed to come up with a plan. He was tired of dancing around you, never truly saying what he actually meant. This time he was going to prove to you that he wanted you and no one else. He wanted you exactly the way you were. The only problem was how do you convince a girl she’s worth it when she’s spent her whole life thinking she’s not? So Rafe was going to take his time because he was prepared to spend the rest of his time with you. That was until Mila sent him a new text.
Mila
Tumblr media
A wave a sickness quickly washed over him at his desk, hand tightly gripping his phone as panic slowly replaced that sickness. The idea of you on a date made him want to kill whoever the hell the guy was and he had a feeling he knew exactly who it was. Slamming his phone down he dialed the pager on his desk phone to his assistant Kaitlyn.
“Yes Mr. Cameron” she answered almost instantaneously. After all of this he needed to remember to give her a raise.
“Get me AJ, now” and Kaitlyn scrambled out an okay while Rafe tried his best not to seethe at the thought of you trying to erase him completely. It’s only ten minutes later when AJ walks through his office door.
“Kaitlyn said you needed me” the smile on her face suggests she’s assuming some kind of hookup but when she spots his angry face she realizes fairly quickly this is not the case.
“You have a Tanner that works for you down there” Rafe nods his chin down to where AJ’s marketing floor lies.
“Yeah, Tanner Mason. He’s one of my best” she says fondly of her workers and Rafe nods as he processes his thoughts.
“Yeah, well today he’s just too good. I need you to up his work load, enough paperwork he won’t be getting home until midnight tonight. I don’t even care if you have to send someone home to do it” AJ quickly furrows her eyebrows, confused at what was going on.
“I don’t understand” she says, confused why Rafe who should have no clue who this worker is, is suddenly targeting him.
“Tanner has decided to ask my girl on a date, one he thinks he’s attending tonight, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen” AJ wears a surprised look, realizing how serious he is right now.
“Why would she even be going out with him if she’s dating you?” AJ instantly questions, looking to place blame on her but Rafe just sighs.
“She dumped me and didn’t even say why. So I’m going to get her back. Whatever means necessary” the shocked face that crossed AJ’s features doesn’t surprise Rafe, yet he doesn’t back down.
“I guess I can send Emmet home, tell Tanner he’s sick and I need a completed ad by the end of the day” AJ finally says after a beat and Rafe smiles a sly grin.
“You’re the best AJ” he says and AJ rolls her eyes as she begins to stand up.
“You’re lucky we’ve been friends so long and I’m partial to you actually being in love. Believe it or not but there was a point in time I didn’t think you were capable. It’s nice to see you care so deeply about someone” and Rafe knows she’s referring to him never reciprocating her feelings during their time together. He would feel guilty but after all of this he knows now you can’t help who you fall in love with, you’re just along for the ride.
“It feels nice” he tells her and she lets out a chuckle before heading towards the door.
“You owe me, and I want to be front row at the wedding” she tells him and the blush that crosses his cheeks surprises her.
“Anything you want” and she accepts this answer before leaving the office and towards Emmet’s. She would’ve sent him home even if Rafe gave her no reason. Everything Rafe did had a purpose.
Rafe now content with the start of his plan being set in motion glances at the picture of you on his desk. The selfie you had taken in his lap that day you were here. He knows now he’s never going to move it, loving having your smiling face looking back at him. He was determined to have you smile at him like that again so he finally responds to Mila’s text.
Mila
Tumblr media
Rafe didn’t care that she called him out on his behavior. He used to be a very different type of insane and she should be glad that this was the only crazy thing he was willing to do these days. You had changed him for the better and he wasn’t going to lose you now. He needed it to at least be real. To know that sleeping with you made it official and not some way of using you. He wanted you the way you were forever and he was willing to go back to his old ways to make it happen.
“He’s not answering me” you groan to Mila on the couch. You had been dressed for your date for the last hour, waiting for Tanner to pick you up but so far it hadn’t been done.
“Maybe he got caught up at work, I mean you know the boss” Mila snorts out and she’s glad her acting is good enough that you can’t tell she’s internally panicking. Rafe had her delete Tanners message, one where he informed you he got stuck at work and would have his phone off the rest of the day. You’re oblivious and Mila is praying this plan doesn’t blow up in her face.
“That’s not funny” you tell her with a pout but before Mila could say anything the doorbell rang. You nervously scrambled to answer it only to be met with an older gentleman and a limo in the street behind him.
“Hello Miss, Tanner is running a bit late so he’s asked me to escort you to the restaurant. Are you all set to go?” the formality shocks you and Mila realizes fairly quickly Tanner wasn’t the one who sent this limo at all. In defense of her best friend she should stop her but even Mila knew Rafe wouldn’t have planned all of this without purpose.
“Damn, a limo! Can I tag along just to ride?” Mila asks and the chauffeur just smiles at her, told to comply with any requests.
“Could she please?” you ask the man and he nods quickly.
“Of course, what fun is a limo without guests” he says before stepping out the way and gesturing in the direction of it.
“Thank you!” you say before grabbing Mila’s hand and rushing her to the limo. You had been full blown panicking now, not having gone on a real date in ages. Now it was even more intimidating riding in a limo there.
“God, drink some champagne and chill” Mila says when she spots your nervous behavior in the back of the limo. She was already on her second glass.
“I am chill” you defend as she hands you a glass that you have down in two full gulps.
“Yeah right” she mutters as you hold out the glass, awaiting her to pour more. She obeys and doesn’t say anything more as she lets you drink in peace and sits beside you in support.
It’s not long until the limousine pulls up in front of one of the most beautiful restaurants you had ever seen. Never would you have guessed a marketing job would provide such big bucks like this, yet you don’t complain. All you do is glance at Mila who has now ditched the glass to drink champagne straight from the bottle. She smiles and gives you a thumbs up which is all the confidence you need to leave the car when the chauffeur opens the door.
“Thank you…” you trail off, realizing you don’t know his name as he releases your hand from helping you out the vehicle.
“Harold” he tells you and you smile softly.
“Thank you Harold, sorry you have to deal with her alone” you gesture back to the car with a chuckle.
“I heard that!” Mila calls from inside and Harold lightly laughs with you.
“Tanner should be here soon, just tell the hostess you have a reservation under Tanner Mason” he informs you and you nod, filled with nerves because you didn’t even know his last name was Mason until now. You suppose that’s the whole point of going on this date though, getting to know each other. So you walk into the restaurant anyways and do as told where a hostess leads you to a private booth, jazz music playing over the chatter of people, and candles lighting up the dim table.
“Sorry I’m late” a smile crosses your face before you even register that it wasn’t Tanner’s voice. Rafe notices how quickly the smile vanishes as he slides into the spot where Tanner is supposed to be.
“Why are you here?” you glare, not in any mood for a stunt of his tonight. You were moving on, trying things you never had before. You didn’t need him here and messing it up.
“Tanner got caught up at work, something about a coworker being sick and a deadline to meet by tonight” Rafe says this sentence so naturally but you know he has something to do with it. Tanner would have never planned a date let alone not contacted you about it, yet you suppose Rafe had something to do with that too.
“So what? you thought you’d just come and fill in. Take his place for the night?” you scoff, arms crossing over your chest and immediately thinking of ways to get out of this restaurant.
“Try forever. You shouldn’t be with him Y/N! You should be with me” he groans out, hands fisting the table cloth in front of you both.
“That’s never going to happen” you say with the shake of your head, trying to look anywhere but him.
“Why? We spent that night together, I thought it was finally real. That you would finally let me love you and instead you blocked me on everything!” he countered and as much as hearing that he wanted you that didn’t change fact.
“Really Rafe, me too! Which is why I came by your office as soon as I could just to hear you talking with AJ about your current sex life. How shocked she was to hear you’d sleep with me at the same time as her. Luckily I left just as I heard you start talking about not being attracted to big girls” Rafe instantly goes back to that conversation in his head, realizing AJ had used present tense when talking with him.
“I haven’t slept with AJ in over two years. I cross my heart, I haven’t even been with anyone the entirety of the time we spent together. You have to believe me” he begs, needing you to know it wasn’t true. He was desperate for you to know it was true.
“Even if that’s true Rafe, I can’t be with someone who isn’t attracted to me. I get that I’m no beauty standard and I understand my body isn’t the healthiest but I deserve to be loved for all the things that make me, me. That includes being overweight” you say, fighting the tears that burn at the back of your eyes. You didn’t want to cry over him anymore. It wasn’t worth it.
“You don’t understand Y/N, you walked away before I could finish that day. I was saying I had never been attracted to big girls before and up until now I didn’t know why. You’re so beautiful, I love everything about you. I love the way your hair always falls in your face and how when you laugh to loudly you cover your mouth with your hands. Beauty isn’t a standard, it’s just in the eye of the beholder. Anyone is beautiful when you love them and baby I love you more than you know. I love you so much that you’re the most beautiful girl in the world to me. As long as I have you, no other girl in the world matters” and the tears break free in full force, shock painting your features as Rafe’s words resonate with you. You want to believe he’s lying but what reasoning would he have? Based on his own tears in his eyes you realize that Rafe is telling you the whole truth for maybe the first time in the entirety of your relationship with him.
“You love me, exactly the way I am?” you can’t help but ask and Rafe chuckles, reaching long arms across the table to brush away your tears.
“I do, I love you more than anything and no matter what happens I always will” he says, sincerity cracking his voice and finally a smile appears on your face, chuckling through the tears.
“Well how in the hell did that happen?” you ask, the backs of your hands wiping the tears from your face while Rafe laughs at your words.
“I don’t know, guess it’s got something to do with this really cool girl I met in a bar” Rafe says and finally you stand from your side of the booth, rushing over to his own where he happily accepts you into his arms.
“You promise it’s real, everything?” you ask and Rafe smiles, a hand reaching and tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
“It always was” he tells you and that’s enough for you to lock your lips against his own. He kisses you like he can’t possible get enough, tongue sliding past your lips as your hands toy with his hair at the nape of his neck. He is everything you ever wanted and for the first time you deserved.
“I can’t believe you hijacked my date to get me to talk to you” you say when you finally break apart, heavy breaths falling past your lips from how deeply he was kissing you.
“I had to do something, you blocked me on everything with no explanation” he says with a bewildered look and you can’t help but laugh before pulling his lips to your own and kissing him again.
“I needed something effective to get you out of my system” you tell him and he grins, squeezing you tightly against him and in no hurry to let you go.
“You remember when we first hung out and I asked you if you had ever been in love before?” he asks you gently after a moment and you nod, softly leaning against him.
“Yeah and I told you I’d like to think I was but I wasn’t sure” you respond, remembering that day in his apartment so clearly. How much fun you had ended up having while hanging out with him.
“I only asked because I had realized I’d never been in love before, but now if someone asks me I can confidently say yes” he says with a grin and you can only giggle at the handsome boy in front of you.
“When did Rafe Cameron become such a sap?” you asked, knowing you’d seen every side of Rafe other than this.
“I’m only a sap for you so don’t go telling anyone” he tells you and for a single moment you’re the happiest you’ve ever been in the arms of the man you love. Rafe was your first and hopefully only love and you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your life getting to know him even more.
“Who would’ve thought a fake date would teach me how to love someone” you say to him and Rafe grins.
“Is that you finally saying you love me back, because I definitely have you beat on confessions tonight” he teases and you laugh loudly, hand covering your mouth which Rafe removes as he grins back at you.
“I love you Rafe Cameron, bad boy persona and all” you say and he pecks a sweet kiss to your lips.
“Learning to love, who would’ve thought it’d be me” he says referring to the journey you both had been on, going from loners to two people in love with each other.
“I sure as hell didn’t” you say and Rafe smiles just as the wine he had called ahead and ordered arrived to the table.
“This wasn’t Tanners date at all was it?” you ask and Rafe only grins, not embarrassed by his actions at all.
“Nope, this is all me. He texted and cancelled while you were in the shower and I had Mila delete it” he admits and you gasp, lightly smacking his arm as he goes to set a wine glass in front of you.
“You two are devious” you say and he shrugs, arm wrapping around your shoulders as he pulls you close and sips from his glass of wine.
“Devious but successful” he tells you and you shake your head before laying it on his shoulder.
“You’re lucky I love you both” you tell him and he smiles, lips pressing a soft kiss against your forehead.
“Yeah, we definitely are”

BEEEE HALOOOOO CAN I HAB MAKO PLSSS IWIWIWI 3, 10, 11 AND 14 (as in, when mako's in the fashion mode!) TYY MWA
JIL YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT MAKE YOU ARE SO SMART THANKS FOR READING MY MIND ILY
3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?
OKAY SO I WOULD DIVIDE THEM LIKE: For White since she is Mako's young sister I feel like she adores them, admires them since she was tiny bebe and just wants to be like them, travelling from one region to another doing what they like (fashion), gaining knowledge about it, meeting people that is also into that WAAA she just wants to be like them and so Mako always tries to support her and help her with her dreams too <3 Black probably only sees them as someone who is famous but doesn't really pays much attention to it and it's just like halooooo and doesn't treat them different from any other adults, maybe gets excited when they go to see Chrome because they bring chocolate for him HEHEH For Elesa you know how she is besties with them since they were kids so hehe and other characters would see Mako as just 'Elesa's old friend', at least that's how Emmet and Ingo met them, with time after Mako starts to get along with Emmet just thinks 'ooo this guy is so talented and interesting ooo let's spend time together' JSAHJASHJSA
10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o’s relationship?
In general I would say people think 'what the hell is this guy doing with the train guy' LIKE they are so different in so many aspects that I think people would be confused on how they even got together HSAHJSAHJ But to be more specific, firts: I think the first one to know about Mako and Emmet would've been Elesa and I KNOW when Mako told her she would start shaking them and asking them about everything (just as if they were teenagers again), Elesa would be so excited to know that her two friends were now together hehe. For Chrome I think it would be a similar reaction but I think he would tease Mako and Mako would never get what he is saying HSAHSAHAS OR JUST TEASES BACK WITHOUT NOTICING (dumb mf) On White's side I KNOW SHE WOULD BE SO CONFUSED AS WELL, LIKE the first time she saw Emmet he was this weird looking guy that scared her KJSJASJJSA. SHE ASKS MAKO 'uhmmm is he coming to the house now…?' Just give her time to get used to him! but even so, I think she is happy if Mako is happy hehe AND FOR LASSSSST INGO, I believe when he knew they were on a relationship he would walk to Mako, look directly at them in the eyes and tell them 'please be nice and patient with him' because he cares about his twin, also I believe he is really happy to see this side of Emmet, just happy for them wiwiwi
11. what kind of outfit(s) does your self insert wear?
I know I made Mako wear mostly inspired on ganguro and gyaru in general BUT! he would wear all kind on styles, I think gyaru is the most seen in him but he would also wear outfits like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a lot of patters + textures AAA if it is supper extra then they are going to wear it!!!
Also teen Mako would wear things like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
14. what hobbies does your self insert have?
Mako's biggest fixation is fashion, he works non-stop on that but I think that he is also into marine biology just as hobby (one of the reasons their first journey was to Hoeen hehe)

Would yandere emmet in the friendzone put in cummies in food or that just an ingo thing? If so what other behaviors does one have that the other doesn't?
Yes, he probably would!
However, there is a slight issue. Emmet is not as good of a cook as Warden Ingo. Warden Ingo had to learn to cook to survive. He knew how to cook before, sure, but being out in the wild, he had to get creative. Emmet though, would need practice. He would spend time learning how to cook specific meals, or even bake certain sweets. He knows if you found out he was putting in ‘a secret ingredient’, you would be sick, horrified, and angry. You would hate him. So he has to do it right. Where with Warden Ingo, he had a natural affinity to cooking, and knowing how to hide his spent. Emmet though, has to work for it. So, he practices. When he finally feels comfortable with a recipe, he then adds his cum. He thinks about how good you’d feel, how you’d look eating his seed. It’s easy to cum at the thoughts running through his head. When you try the dish or dessert, and tell him it’s delicious, Emmet is over the moon. You think he’s happy he did a good job on a new recipe. That’s only partially true, of course. You happily tell him you will taste test anything he tries in the future, if it’s anything as good as what he just gave you! You don’t notice the dark look on his face as you say that. I previously mentioned Emmet was far more bold than Ingo. That is true with almost everything. He is more bold about being physical. He is more bold about talking and hanging out with you. And he is more bold with his dubious and slightly illegal activities. He steals your clothes often. Usually dirty stuff. He knows your laundry schedule. He can get away with taking a thing or two, and returning it by the time you decide to clean your clothes. It’s not just to take your underwear either. He enjoys taking all sorts of clothes. Sure, the underwear is a given, but he is also fond of taking large hoodies at the bottom of your pile, and t-shirts. When he’s at his house, or alone in his room if you share a place, he loves to wear your big hoodies. Even if they are a bit snug, or drape off him. When he wears them, he feels engulfed in your scent, and imagines you hugging him He also loves wearing them to bed. It helps him sleep better. He also loves using your t-shirts as pillowcases, and either hugging said pillow as he sleeps, or humping against it. Usually the latter, though he also enjoys just sleeping on the pillow too on more tiring days. He’s extra careful though! If he fucks himself against a pillow with your shirt on, he makes sure to wear extra layers over his legs, so his cum wont soak through. Sure, it’s not the most comfortable, but he’d rather live in mild discomfort, than ruin something of yours, and risk you finding out what he has done. He also takes any underwear you throw out. He constantly checks your trash, and if he finds an old pair of underwear that is just too worn to keep, he takes it. He also nearly cries if its dirty. The jackpot! He has a piece of intimate clothing, and ruts into it the first chance he gets. Sure, he would rather dirty up your panties or boxers with his cum, and have you wear them, but this would do for now. He also uses your towels. If you share a home, he absolutely reuses towels you already used. He loves knowing that he’s drying himself off with the same thing you did against your naked body. Its a mild turn on for him. He especially loves it is it still has traces of your scent. He is also more willing to get into fights for you, right in front of you. Someone bothering you? He’s already throwing hands. You panic, and later scold him at your home as you patch him up. You are an adult! You can handle yourself just fine! He says he knows, but he will always have your back. No one treats his friends that way! Emmet is protective of you. He also won’t let anyone else have you. If he can’t, no one else can. It’s a trait both twins share, though surprisingly, Ingo is better about taking someone out. Emmet will too, of course. But Emmet has a much funner way of dealing with trash. He will ruin them. He will make them wish they were dead when he’s done. He won’t even have to lift a finger. All it takes is a whisper here, a rumor there. Some fake evidence, or even some real evidence. A few anonymous calls. That person’s life is in shambles with a week. See, they were obviously a predator from the start! It’s a good thing you have your friend Emmet here to have your back, and comfort you in these trying times! You smile through tears. Yeah, you don’t know what you would do without your best friend, keeping an eye out for you. You don’t notice his smile tighten, or the way his eyes darken when he hugs you. No one would try taking you from him. They will face the consequences. And he will enjoy watching them burn to ashes, while he smiles at your side.

Day 13 - First Train
Fic if you want to read every posted day : https://archiveofourown.org/works/51386731/chapters/129854215
The soft rumble of the vehicle was smoothing, it felt as relaxing, even more as he would have imagine, How did he live without this incredible work of art, How did most of the wild Pokemon avoid going near a train in the first place!? That doesnn't make any sense!! No wonder Emmet used to be obsessed with them, It is fantastic!! incredible, nothing could ever explain his new found interest in train!!
“Emmet?”
Zorua Emmet could only feel his eyes sparkling at this feeling, his hand shaking with excitement, He probably don't liked them as strongly as his friend's, but he now had a taste of why he loved them so much! Emmet turned his head to look Ingo with a large smile.
“Ingo, this is fantastic! This train is incredible!!”
Ingo nodded at that, his own, sort of, smile on his face, moving his hand with excitement too, his eyes glittering with a twin enjoyment.
“I know Emmet, it is an incredible train, but I have to say you look like it is the first time you get on a train”
Emmet tried to not grimace, because it was the first time he had got on a train, He knew more facts and largo about trains than he had experience with them, He never got the chance to take a look at Anville town trains when they were still living there for....good reason.... trying to not think to much about that, he tilt his head with a mischievous look.
“You look like it is the first time too for you, you are verrrry excited about this, even more than me”
That seemed to fluttered slightly Ingo, stuttering immediately at the realization that yes, he was in fact sharing the same amount of joy as Emmet, who, unknowing of him, never got on a train, That was enough for the latter to pull a bit on the thread that his older twin accidentally gave to him.
“Big brother, I am wounded, I am Emmet and my brother is a hypocrite~”
“E-Emmet!”
As Emmet chuckled loudly, ready to come back with another thing to the misery of his older brother, someone's cough caught the attention of the twin, turning to see sitting in the seat next to them, Elesa, the two looking at her sheepishly as they both forgot about her presence.
“Guys, I know that you are more than excited about this ride on the train, but can you both stop bickering that loudly, I think that all the cars could hear”
The two boys looked at each other, before talking a bit more quietly, This time not only Ingo, but Emmet was embarrassed by how noisy they were.
“I apologize, Me and Emmet got derailed from our track, we did not want to cause any disturbance!”
“Sorry Elesa! We did not attend to disturb anyone!”
Their friends simply laughed it off, trying to match their energy about the train ride, and as the three started to talk all together, mostly interesting facts about this train, Emmet couldn't stop himself from looking outside from to time to time, just to observe the blurry view outside, He really liked train.

Oh Ez I have been WAITING for you to open your requests back up. I have a bunch of family fluff related ideas for PLA and I feel like you're the best one for the job with all your "Lian and Sabi getting adopted" posts.
So here's the deal. Uncle Ingos and Dad Ingos with him adopting Akari and/or Rei are great! But I prefer Big Brother Ingo, and we don't have nearly enough of that kind of content.
"But what about Emmet? His feelings might get hurt!" Emmet is a good bean, he would be grateful to the protag for befriending his brother and looking after him. Now HE can be a big brother! He's not the baby anymore! They're a strong trainer too, what wonderful battles they will have!
So basically what I want is this: Emmet ends up in Hisui, memories intact. It's fluff hours, so we'll say that Emmet being there triggered Ingo's memories returning. Emmet soon discovers that in addition to finding himself a lover, his brother has adopted a girl from the Galaxy Team, Akari, as his younger sister.
Poor Ingo probably feels guilty now that he remembers Emmet, and promises that he wasn't trying to replace him and is about to plead for his younger brother's forgiveness, but:
Emmet: =D I'M a big brother now! *turns to Akari* High five!
Akari: *gives him that high five harder than you give Kamado scorn*
Ingo: *about to fucking cry from relief*
Reader: *patting their poor boyfriend on his silly little head* Told you it would work out.
Found family my beloved-
-
-
- Ingo desperately wishes you were here right now.
- He wishes you were here to meet his brother.
- The man fall from the sky, much like he had. So many memories came rushing to him, and so many things began to make sense, as the man in white ran at him in tears.
- The two held each other, sobbing, the wails echoing in the highlands.
- They held each other in a death grip, for what felt like hours.
- “I knew I’d find you! I never gave up!”
- “I may have forgotten myself, but seeing you brings it all back. I’m sorry I ever forgot you.”
- They kept saying back and forth.
- “Come now! Let’s get you to the village.”
- Emmet was more than happy, wanting to see how his brother lived for the past few years.
- Emmet was quickly told everything.
- From when Ingo woke up, the pearl clan who took him in, becoming a warden, the village, even the little details in between.
- Telling him about both clans, what they believe and represent, along with every warden in said clans.
- It took much longer than he expected, the two arrived to the village before Ingo could tell him everything else.
- Emmet was interested to see where it all started.
- And ‘Jubilife’ sounded verrry familiar.
“So! Where are we off to?”
Ingo glances to his brother, ignoring the odd looks they are getting from the villagers.
“The clans leaders are currently in a meeting with the village commander, once they are out I’ll introduce you to them.”
Though the warden can’t help but feel like he’s forgetting something…
“Who’s that running towards us?”
Ingo barely had time to look, before someone ran full speed into his chest.
“Ingo! Ingo you won’t believe it! We were out in a survey and found the COOLEST Pokémon! It was a crazy different color and and….who are you?”
Ingo catches his breath, looking between Akari and Emmet. Guilt slowly filling his heart, feeling like he subconsciously replaced his little brother.
“Ah! Miss Akari, nice to see you. I’m surprised you aren’t in the meeting.”
A part of him wants to hold this conversation off.
“Well, I was with the professor when the hero got called in, so that’s where I stayed. Anyways, who are you.”
Akari moves away from Ingo, eyeing the identical man in white.
Who just smiles.
“I am Emmet! I am a subway boss. And this is my twin brother Ingo.”
“But Ingo is my brother.”
Ingo feels himself slowly panicking. He was most certain they wouldn’t like each other, watching his two younger siblings eye each other suspiciously.
“Emmet, I promise, I wasn’t trying to replace you! Or I would never, I-
young Akari jumps up before he can continue.
“I get TWO older brothers!? This is awesome!”
Emmet’s smile only grows.
“I am an older brother now!”
Ingo nearly sags in relief.
Though not for long, not with how those two already have a mischievous aura about them.
Ingo just know they are going to cause problems on purpose.
But he’s so happy, so relived no one’s feelings are hurt.
The warden practically jumps out of his skin, as a hand is placed on his shoulder.
“Oh! Sorry honey, I didn’t mean to startle you.”
That gets Emmet’s attention, from a high five to his new sister, to solely focused on you.
“You have a partner!?”
Ingo flinches.
“Y-yes! This is the hero-“
“You can just call me by my name.” You introduce yourself, chuckling at how the man in white excitedly shakes your hand.
“I am Emmet-!”
“He’s Ingo’s brother! Meaning I get two brothers!”
Ingo sighs.
This is going to be a looooong day.

OOH BOY THIS IS A DOOZY. TYSM. I love the way you think, you always look at stuff from different and interesting angles! Do you mind if I take some inspiration from your thoughts?
Anyway, here are some answers. I tried to lump as many questions together as I could, so I'm sorry if I missed something.
.
Negligent Cynthia. Yeah. The last time Lucas saw Dawn, Cynthia was sending her into the distortion world. Because of course, when a world-ending event is happening, you send an 11 year old. Lucas never forgives her for that.
.
Emmet wasn't there when Arceus yoinked Ingo. The only warning Emmet had was the ancient records of Warden Ingo, so all the twins knew was that Ingo was going to disappear one day. The historical records never said whether Ingo died or left though, so Emmet tries to hold out hope that Ingo will return.
That doesn't mean that Ingo didn't make a promise though... Perhaps the last thing he thought before he forgot was a mental promise that he would complete the mission and return to Emmet as fast as he could. Waugh.
And ouch, Emmet looking into disappearances after his brother went missing. That's genius. I haven't really considered Emmet's perspective yet, so hear me out here.
What if Emmet takes Lucas' disappearance as a sign that there is something more to Ingo's mysterious time travel? And he goes to Sinnoh to investigate.
.
Unfortunately, Ingo doesn't befriend Akari. All Ingo knows is that he is meant to be a guide, and he has a strange protective urge whenever he meets a child. Amnesia really hit Ingo with the Dad Instinct, huh? Sadly, he has no idea who specifically he's supposed to be helping.
Lucas does help Ingo get some memories back! It's not a lot, but they talk a lot about modern culture, battling, and things like fast food and indoor plumbing. Lucas is sad that he doesn't know who Ingo used to be, but he at least knows what a train is.
.
Lucas does not recognize Akari as Dawn. Arceus didn't explicitly say that he would be finding Dawn or Ingo there, only that he would eventually be reunited with Dawn. He thinks Akari is just an unfortunately similar ancestor. It doesn't help that Akari is now 15 instead of 11.
Akari is still Laventon's assistant, but there are a few key differences. The first is her team. Lucas keeps finding pokemon in Hisui that remind him of Dawn's old team, and so he gives them to Akari to protect her. He tries not to think about how it feels like he is replacing his sister with a lookalike, no siree. He also ignores how they are the only pokemon that Akari is comfortable around, and how she nicknamed them all the exact same things. There is nothing weird going on there.
The second key difference? Two words. Red sky.
.
Volo doesn't get to touch Dawn. I slap his hands. Bad Volo. No.
Lucas is still going to come for Volo with a steel chair, and Volo's reveal will probably trigger Dawn something fierce, but that won't happen until when it normally happens in the game canon.
By the time that happens, though, the three fallers are a very tight knit group. Volo won't know what hit him.
.
LUCAS ON A MISSION. SPEEDRUNNING THE NOBLES. Lucas is going to get so many aunts and uncles by sheer virtue of being a disaster child. He killed his inhibitions years ago, now he runs on spite, caffeine, a blessing from a god, and the pursuit of knowledge. He gets two whole stars every time he comes back from the wilds.
And who says Lucas doesn't get himself killed...?
Laventon asks Akari if she's jealous of Rei's progress, but she tells him no. It's oddly comforting. It reminds her of someone she might have known.

Summary: Sneasler is back and Ingo is healed, so it’s time for the team to get back to the Pearl Guild.
Author’s Note: Got another expositiony chapter, and this one is probably A Lot >_> Sorry about that. Next chapter will be better.
ALSO! I’m doing a poll about the next Derailed chapter! Y’all got one week to vote, I’m only doing one scenario. I can’t guarantee it’ll be posted before or after next chapter, but it’ll be done. The vote will close on May 21st at 12 PM PST! The link is: https://take.quiz-maker.com/poll4340898x5D6d42A0-136
Thank you @furiouskettle!
(Shippers DNI)
In one of Team Galaxy’s medical rooms, Sneasler, Ingo, and Emmet all sat in their own beds. Sneasler used reeds she collected to repair her basket. Ingo’s gem healed, so he spent his time reading the book Emmet got from Laventon. Emmet sat next to Ingo as his brother read the book. Chandelure floated above Ingo and slightly away from Emmet. Eelektross stood outside in the hallway, his head peaked into the room.
“…A region called Johto had a Magnet Train. It used two sets of magnets to levitate above the tracks and propel the train, and it could reach speeds over 400 kilometers per hour!” said Ingo. “I can’t picture that type of speed! Can you, Emmet or Sneasler?”
“It sounds cool,” Emmet said.
“Wow, that’s something,” Sneasler said. A mindless, repetitive activity could make her fall asleep, but Ingo’s talking served as good background noise while she focused on her weaving. She almost completed her task, too.
“It doesn’t seem like there were any trains in this region, which is a shame. Rescue Teams would benefit from a fast mode of transportation! We could even potentially visit multiple mystery dungeons in one day!” Ingo said.
“That… doesn’t sound… awful? Sounds like a lotta work, though.” Sneasler said. She finished weaving the basket and felt around to make sure it was sturdy.
“Eelektross, you must remember trains. Why did you not tell us what they were?” Emmet asked.
“Well, it’s hard to explain without pictures…” Eelektross twiddled his claws. “Also, I thought it’d be fun if you two rediscovered your special interest yourselves…”
“Well, I am enjoying learning about trains, so your gut instinct appears to be correct, Eelektross!” Ingo said.
“Oh, I just remembered something. Sneasler, why did you call Ingo a Warden?” Emmet asked.
Sneasler stopped inspecting her basket. She paused and turned to gaze to Emmet. “…When did I say that?” she asked.
“You called him “Warden Ingo” when you were attacking us, then you made him faint,” Emmet said without a crumb of politeness.
“That… does sound familiar,” Ingo said. His gaze took an express line to the distance. His appearance almost seemed to age as he tried to dig through his mind to find the meaning of that title. He wasn’t even sure how he knew that was a title specifically and not something else.
“Did I really say that?” Sneasler asked, almost horrified.
“Yes,” Emmet said.
Sneasler brought her hand to her mouth briefly, then she lowered it to her chin to rest on. “Warden. …It’s a term from when humans were a thing. There were… special humans who kinda acted like guardians or babysitters for the Nobles. I dunno, they liked doing it to help live with pokemon, and my ancestors liked it because they got food and respect and stuff.”
“Sneasler… I don’t remember much of what happened before I became a Sneasel. Was I a Warden?” Ingo asked.
“Well… Uh…” Sneasler scratched her head.
“Is something the matter?” Ingo asked.
“There’s… Um… Listen, there isn’t an easy way to put this. Ingo, I don’t think you used to be a human. I think you’re a weird Sneasel, but… I think… I think part of why you’re weird is because you’re some reincarnation of the Warden Ingo I knew.”
“The Warden Ingo you knew?” Emmet repeated, brows raised and scrunched to showcase his confusion.
“Sneasler, what are you on about…?” Eelektross asked.
“Oh crap, I never… UUUGH!” Sneasler held her head in her hands. “Okay, Nobles have a bunch of weird powers, and they’re mostly useless except for the one for getting out of Distorted Floors. Anyway, one of the weird things is having past Noble’s memories.”
“Is… that so?” Ingo asked.
“Y-Yeah… Ugh, listen, I have a lot of problems remembering that shit, and the further back the memories go, the blurrier they are, but… I do kinda sorta remember… there was this weird ass human that my ancestor found that became a Warden… and his name was Ingo.”
“So to confirm, you believe I am a reincarnation of human Ingo?”
“Basically. It makes sense enough. It’s been hundreds of years since he was around…”
“What of Emmet? Was there an Emmet back then?”
“I don’t think so… I dunno, I don’t remember much from that time, but there’s nothing up here about an Emmet. Unlike some folk, though, I do believe you two are genuine Sneasel twins. Like… c’mon, it’s obvious.” She gestured between Ingo and Emmet.
“And you never mentioned this… why?” Eelektross asked.
“Oh, okay, Eelektross. Tell me: how do you tell someone ‘By the way, I think you’re some reincarnation of someone that used to work for my ancestor’?” Sneasler crossed her arms and scowled at Eelektross.
“Like that,” Emmet said. He received an icy glare from Sneasler, but he was an ice-type pokemon and thus was not very affected.
“But… Ingo wasn’t some warden. Chandelure recognized Ingo’s soul. They recognized it from a different region!” Eelektross said.
Sneasler shrugged. “Maybe that’s how reincarnation works? I don’t know! I have a bunch of memories and stuff that aren’t mine, but I still know freaking nothing!”
“…I’m afraid I don’t recall much about my past to disprove your theory, Sneasler, but… something feels amiss if that is the truth,” Ingo said.
“Yeah, I dunno anymore. That’s what I thought for a long ass time, but now…” Sneasler sighed.
“What was Warden Ingo like?” Emmet asked.
“Let me think, it’s all really foggy…” She paused to think. “He was kinda a sad man. He tried to hide it, but it was pretty obvious. Not quite the same as our Ingo here.”
“That’s a shame,” Ingo said. He handed the train book back to Emmet, who happily flipped through the pages again. He noticed something shiny in Sneasler’s pile of berries. He moved a couple aside and found a gold bracelet. Tarnish and dirt covered the item. Ingo rubbed away some of it and felt an engraving as he cleaned it. The engraving resembled Sneasler’s face. Ingo’s heart raced.
“What the hell?! Where did you get that?!” Sneasler asked, pointing at the bracelet.
“It was in your belongings,” Ingo said. “I apologize for grabbing it without your permission. What is it, if I may ask?”
“It’s… How did it get in my basket? It’s… a Warden bracelet. It, uh, would be given to a Warden – my ancestor’s Wardens, I mean,” Sneasler said. “…If you want it, you can keep it. I’m obviously not using it.”
Ingo finished cleaning the item. Despite its obvious age, it shined gold and blue.
“Can I have that?” Emmet asked.
“Is that okay, Sneasler?” Ingo asked.
“I dunno why you’re asking me. I told you, I’m not using it, so do whatever,” Sneasler said.
Emmet took the Warden’s bracelet and placed it around his left wrist. It dangled when he held his arm up, as it was too large for him. It stayed on, though, and Emmet liked its weight. It may not be the same as the Arc Watch, but at least his uniform was closer to Ingo’s again.
“Team Conductors, are you ready for departure?” Cyllene asked as she approached the room. “My team will escort you back to your Pearl Guild.”
“Oh, we’re departing now? I thought Rei was still tinkering with my Arc Watch,” Ingo said. Though he didn’t fully agree with the prospect, Ingo recognized that Rei was skilled with tools and the watch needed to get fixed. The gesture also acted as payment for Team Galaxy helping them, which made Ingo feel better about receiving their assistance.
“Right now, it’s more important to get you back to your guild. I’ve been trying to contact them over what happened, but there were some difficulties at the Pelliper Post,” Cyllene said.
“Alright, alright, we’ve had enough lollygagging and train talking, let’s get moving,” Sneasler said. She packed up her belongings into her basket.
“There’s never enough train talk,” Emmet said as he boarded Sneasler’s basket after a ticket punch. Ingo followed suit.
***
Both teams ventured through Eterna Forest to get back to the guild. It was a similar path Ingo and Emmet tried to take the prior night to escape a Chained Sneasler, minus the detour to the mossy rock. Ingo and Emmet rode in Sneasler’s basket while everyone else walked on foot.
Ingo was still reading the book Emmet found. While flipping through the soft, velvety pages, he found one page with the corner turned down. “What’s this?”
“Oh. I found a verrry interesting page. I wanted to show it to you,” Emmet said.
Ingo turned to the page. “”Unova’s Battle Subway”.”
“The book talks about the Battle Subway?!” Eelektross asked. Chandelure’s eyes widened, and they hovered closer to Sneasler’s basket.
“The heck is a Battle Subway?” Sneasler asked.
“It appears to be a subway that also coordinates pokemon battles. What an interesting concept!” Ingo said. He turned the page. After some silence, Ingo popped open Sneasler’s basket and poked his head out. “Chandelure and Eelektross, do these people look familiar?” Ingo held out the book, which had a picture of two humans in front of the Battle Subway.
Eelektross’ eyes went wide. “That...! That’s you two!” Next to him, Chandelure’s flames danced around happily. The picture of their young trainers fueled their flames with nostalgia.
“That’s us?” Ingo and Emmet asked at the same time.
“Wait, I gotta see this!” Sneasler said. She reached over and behind her, and Ingo placed the book into her hand.
The picture faded from age, but its colors remained true and showed Sneasler that the two humans wore monochromatic uniforms. She could understand them not recognizing their human faces (if this really was what they looked like), but she had no idea how Ingo or Emmet didn’t recognize their own poses. They pointed at the camera and at the ground. The human in white had a wide grin and strange aura. It had to be Emmet. The other human in black frowned but had a more friendly air about them. That could only be Ingo.
“Y’know, with you guys talking about being humans, I could never imagine what you two would’ve looked like. But if this really is you, then… you look like giant ass nerds,” Sneasler said.
“I think it’s from when the Battle Subway as still new… Wow…” Eelektross said. Tears started forming.
“What’s this I hear about Ingo and Emmet being human?” Laventon asked as he sped up with Team Conductors. “It may sound strange, but I believe it! There are several accounts of humans turning into pokemon, you know! Ghost pokemon are probably the most obvious examples, but…”
Sneasler tuned out Laventon’s lecture. Her gaze lingered on “Ingo”. Picking at the memories at the back of her head, Sneasler thought of Warden Ingo as a depressed mess of a human barely holding onto sunshine. But the Ingo in the picture not only looked younger but cheerier and happier.
Either this wasn’t the first time Warden Ingo was reincarnated, or there was something else happening that she didn’t understand.
The Noble got lost in her thoughts while the twins tried to explain to Laventon that they didn’t have their human memories yet and thus couldn’t contribute to his research. It took a familiar voice to pull her out of her head.
“Sneasler! I smell Sneasler!” a newcomer said.
“Arcanine?!” Sneasler asked.
Arcanine ran toward them from the group’s right. When he was in view, Cyllene sidestepped to avoid him pouncing straight onto Sneasler. Her basket didn’t break, but Ingo and Emmet were thrown out of it. “Hey, you’re not angry!”
“I am now!” Sneasler said from underneath Arcanine. “I just fixed my damn basket!”
“Oh, sorry! You and your little bros have been gone for a few days, so everyone is all scared!” Arcanine said as he stepped off Sneasler.
“Good day, Lord Arcanine!” Ingo said. “What do you mean by “everyone”?”
“I know that voice!” Palina, with Lian on her back, caught up with Arcanine and the group.
“You’re all okay, thank the Almighty!” Lian said. “We heard Lady Sneasler got Chained and we all got worried…”
“Thank you as always for your concern, Lian,” Ingo said.
“Seriously, what happened?” Palina asked. “There was a massive forest fire in Veilstone, and Noble Basculegion saw Sneasler with glowing red eyes, then she vanished…”
“There was a forest fire?!” Rei asked.
“…Hey Chandelure, how much fire did you use in our fight?” Sneasler asked Chandelure. The rest of Team Conductors faced the ghost pokemon to see their answer. Chandelure glanced between everyone, smiled, and shrugged sheepishly. Eelektross facepalmed.
“Ah, there you are…” Kleavor approached the group at a slow, steady pace.
“Good day, Lord Kleavor,” Ingo said.
“You.” Sneasler narrowed her eyes at Kleavor.
“Ah, Sneasler…” Kleavor stared at Sneasler directly in the eyes.
“I am Emmet. Look at this,” Emmet said. He climbed back into Sneasler’s basket, rummaged around its contents, and held up the Toxic Plate.
Arcanine and Kleavor jumped. “You still have your plate?! That’s amazing!” Arcanine asked.
“That’s…!” Kleavor coughed and collected himself. “Not bad, Sneasler.”
“Perhaps we should continue our journey to the Pearl Guild?” Ingo said as he returned to the basket. “Based on your reactions to locating us, we should return to Guildmaster Irida posthaste.”
“If the Nobles plan to return with you to your guild, then this is as far as my team needs to go, I assume?” Cyllene said.
“Oh, you’re Cyllene, correct?’ Kleavor said.
“You know her?” Sneasler asked.
“Yes! Cyllene wants the Guildmaster rank!” Laventon said. “And to get that rank, you need the approval of at least six Nobles in addition to the Pelliper Post Office.”
“Oh.” Another Noble thing she didn’t know about, Sneasler thought.
“Impressive. I hope she reaches her destination!” Ingo said.
“Wait, Cyllene, we can’t leave them yet! I still want to repair Ingo’s watch!” Rei said.
“You won’t mind if we tagged along?” Laventon asked the Nobles.
“I’m sure Irida wouldn’t mind!” Lian said. “We don’t get visited by independent teams much. And you helped Ingo and Emmet, right? That’s good enough for a visit!”
“Very well. I accept the invitation then,” Cyllene said. “Thank you for allowing us to join you.”
“Yeah! The more, the merrier! Let’s get back now!” Arcanine ducked his nose under Sneasler and threw her upwards. She, along with Ingo and Emmet, landed on Arcanine’s back and held on as Arcanine took off back to the Pearl Guild.
“AAAALL ABOOARD?!” Ingo and Emmet said as they took off deeper into the forest. Everyone else had to run to keep up with the eager Noble.
***
Gaeric didn’t often take the role of sentry duty, as his duties as the guild’s nurse kept him busy. But because all the rescue teams were out searching for Lady Sneasler or performing rescue missions with the remain Nobles, only he and housekeeper Calaba were left to mind sentry duty. Since Calaba had a bad back, she took gate opening duty while he took the lookout tower.
“We got visitors!” Gaeric stared down the binoculars. He announced into the megaphone, “They are Lord Arcanine, Lord Kleavor, Lady Sneasler, Team Conductors, and-!”
Gaeric stopped his announcement upon hearing frantic wing flapping and a one-Glaceon stampede. Calaba couldn’t open the gate fast enough. Irida and Chatot ducked underneath the opening gate to greet the guests and see if Gaeric’s announcement was correct.
Outside the gates, Sneasler was still on Arcanine’s back. Kleavor, Eelektross, and Rei all had to catch their breaths. Cyllene and Chandelure had no issues keeping pace with Arcanine due to their abilities. As for Laventon, he used the winds to fly and follow them without moving a single foot.
“Incredible! It is you!” Chatot said at Sneasler and the twins in her basket. Ingo and Emmet hopped out to face Chatot on even footing. “I had no doubts you would return, but the guildmaster…”
Irida shook her nerves off, collected herself, and stepped up to face Ingo and Emmet. “Welcome back, Team Conductors. I’m glad you and Lady Sneasler returned in one piece!”
“Good day, Clan Leader Irida,” Ingo said. “We apologize for our delayed return. If I may ask, what have we missed while we were away?”
“A lot of things… I am so glad…” Irida gave Ingo, Emmet, and Sneasler a large but soft smile. “But first and foremost, Azelf, Uxie, and Mespirit wish to talk to you.”
***
In the Pearl Guild’s infirmary, Mespirit floated around the room and opened each cabinet and drawer, one at a time. A transparent Azelf followed Mespirit and almost encouraged their sibling to inspect every item they find with silent support and little cheers at interesting things. Uxie sat on their bed and watched the chaos unfold. Their once-cracked gems had healed.
“Whoa, you actually are awake!” Sneasler said as she entered the room with Ingo and Emmet in tow.
“Good day, Lake Guardians! It is an honor to meet you properly. My name is Ingo.” He saluted and tipped his hat to the three.
“I am Emmet. You aren’t broken anymore.”
“Emmet, that was rude,” Ingo said.
“Good to meet you, and he is not wrong,” Mespirit said. “Our lifeforces were split into pieces, after all. It is infuriating, but we are back now.”
“P-pardon me? Your lifeforces have been split?” Ingo asked.
“Yes. From what Irida told us, you know of the Red Chain, but you don’t know how it is made,” Uxie said. “The Red Chain is constructed from pieces of our lifeforces. We suffer minimal ill effects when we make one Chain, but thirteen Chains have been constructed.”
“Thirteen?!” Sneasler said.
“Correct,” Uxie said. “As a result of our lifeforces being stolen, my siblings and I were on the brink of death by the time you and your peers found us.”
“But you seem fine now,” Emmet said.
“Yes, and that’s because several of the Chains have been destroyed, returning our lifeforces to us!” Azelf said. “Your group has a large hand in that, right? You must have powerful wills!”
“Hold on. I heard that Ursaluna and Avalugg were freed, so only eleven should have been destroyed,” Sneasler said. “What about the other two?”
“Those Chains still exist, so we are not back to full strength,” Mespirit said. “As soon as we are back to our original strength, our attacker will wish he never did it!”
“If I may ask, do you know the location of the remaining Chains?” Ingo asked.
“And who hurt you?” Emmet added.
“Unfortunately, we do not know the location of the remaining Chains,” Uxie said. Ingo noted that they almost seemed depressed from having to say that. “We do know the identity of the one who attacked us, but we will share that once all the relevant pokemon who want to know all meet. For now, we wait.”
“Right. I’m still at the Diamond Guild,” Azelf said. Their body began flickering. “See you all later!” Azelf, or rather their astral projection, disappeared.
“Likewise, I know Uxie wishes to speak with you in private. I shall depart and thank nurse Gaeric for taking care of us,” Mespirit said. They flew past Eelektross and Chandelure and into the guild.
“Lady Sneasler, thank you for coming to Lake Acuity. I fear for what might have happened to me and my siblings had you and your team not shown in time,” Uxie said. “I owe you another one.”
“Cool, thanks, Uxie. Since you’re probably not doing much else, mind if I cash in those favors now?” Sneasler asked.
Uxie nodded. “What can I do for you?”
“These two got some memory problems.” Sneasler picked up both Ingo and Emmet by the scruff of their necks, one twin in each hand. “You’re the Being of Knowledge and all. Think you can help them shake off their amnesia?”
“I will see what I can do,” Uxie said.
Sneasler placed Ingo and Emmet back down. Uxie first floated in front of Ingo no more than 5 centimeters away from his face. Ingo stared at Uxie’s forehead gem, which had a faint red glow. After a moment, Uxie floated to the side and stood in front of Emmet. Emmet turned his gaze to the side to avoid eye contact (even if Uxie’s eyes were closed).
Uxie furrowed their brow and rose to face Sneasler. “I will be able to help Emmet recall his old memories. I will not help Ingo, however.”
“What? Why not?” Emmet asked.
“What, it’s something even you can’t do?” Sneasler asked.
“It is not that I cannot help him. It is that I refuse to,” Uxie said.
“You refuse to?” Emmet asked. His smile turned cold as anger rose within him. “If you can only restore one of our memories, do it for my brother.”
Uxie floated down to face Emmet directly. “My abilities are not absolute. I have the ability to restore memories, but I will only do so if I can safely.”
“Do you mean to tell us that you can’t restore mine safely?” Ingo asked. After an affirmative nod from Uxie, he continued. “Are you certain there’s no possible way?”
“Ingo, your mind is held together by duct tape and rusty screws. Would you like to know what could happen to you if one little thing goes wrong during your memory restoration?” Uxie faced Ingo directly. “You can suffer complete memory loss with no hope of restoration. You can lose the ability to form new memories. You can gain debilitating anxiety, severe depression, or even a complete personality change. You may enter a comatose state. You may even di-.”
“We get it!” Eelektross said. He covered Emmet’s ears during the listing. He didn’t want Emmet’s anxiety to go through the roof from picturing the effects Uxie described.
“…That is just a few of the possibilities,” Uxie said.
Sneasler’s mouth hanged open. “Duct tape? Rusty screws? How… how?!” She vaguely gestured at Ingo. “Ingo is fine. He’s a bit weird, but so is Emmet! They’re twins, for Arceus’ sake! What the hell is the difference between them that makes it such a big deal for you, Uxie?!”
“That is a simple answer. Emmet only has one case of amnesia. Ingo has two,” Uxie said.
“WHAT?!” Emmet and Sneasler asked simultaneously.
“I… lost my memories twice?” Ingo looked down at his hands. He rubbed the familiar fabric of his sleeve between his claws.
“Yes. Severe sudden memory loss takes a toll on the mind and spirit, but the mind can be stable. Two cases, however? I am amazed that you are a functioning person. You would need a being more powerful than me to restore your memories safely. Otherwise, you will have to recover them naturally. My apologies.” Uxie bowed in the air to Ingo.
Ingo found himself at a loss of words. Not even his train of thought could form something coherent.
“…But you can still assist me?” Emmet asked. He didn’t care as much about restoring his memories as much as Ingo, but if him remembering their past could help Ingo, that would be enough.
“Yes. I should be able to restore yours safely,” Uxie said. “You should know you’ll only immediately recall the most recent memories. Older memories will come back gradually but surely.”
“That’s fine. I will do it,” Emmet said.
***
In Ingo and Emmet’s tent, Emmet laid down in his bed, his coat splayed as a bedsheet and hat on his chest. Uxie floated above and behind him. Ingo, Sneasler, and Chandelure hovered around Emmet, and Eelektross watched from the entryway.
“I will need everyone to exit,” Uxie said. “I need to reduce possible distraction, and this will not be pleasant to witness.”
“…Can I remain in this station?” Ingo asked. “I want to be here for Emmet. Or is it too dangerous?”
“…If you wish to stay, you can,” Uxie said. “But know that any interference with my process could cause permanent damage.”
Ingo sat on the floor. Emmet offered his hand to Ingo, which Ingo accepted and held.
Chandelure was the first to exit the tent. With arms crossed and indecision on her face, Sneasler stepped out as well. Eelektross had to move to let the other two exit, so he was the one who closed the tent. The three didn’t leave and instead sat outside, waiting.
Emmet closed his eyes. His smile stayed on his face. Uxie hovered just above the ground and laid their hands on Emmet’s temples.
Uxie’s three gems glowed. “Let us begin.”

Scorched Earth
cw: fluff, a bit of character building for dragon au, reshiram Emmet, dragon au,
pairing: Emmet x Reader
The Reshiram hybrid was always warm.
It was simply in his nature to always irradiate some heat, even if he was as cold-blooded as any other dragon type.
Which is why you laid pressed into his chest. His arm was around you tightly alongside his wings. The heat he gave off was always at its best in Unova's frigid winters. Snow had since piled up outside again, giving the region a soft cloudy appearance. It was beautiful but annoying.
Though, giving it some thought, you pondered the colour pairing with Emmet's own white feathers. While his flames burned a bright yellows and oranges, the rest of him remained soft, gentle cloud in tone. You would imagine how easily he could disappear into the clouds should he take on his proper Reshiram form. Closing your eyes for a moment, you tried to recall legends about the dragon.
He was one who helped those pursue truth and known for his terrifying flames.
You even recalled a legend from Galar about how Reshiram would burn down kingdoms consumed by greed and ignorance to truth. When you gazed at the man beside you, it felt impossible to imagine. He always wore a smile and spoke so gently yet bluntly in comparison to his older brother. While he clearly disliked being lied to, always able to know if someone was, he never was overly aggressive about it.
Still, he was a legendary hybrid, and they were not exactly known for being the most kind beings in the world. They had their duties and roles to attend to. Even though he and Ingo had taken to living more human-like lives than their counterparts, they clearly took their jobs as Reshiram and Zekrom seriously. It only made sense with their previous shared existence as the pokemon Kyurem.
You remembered reading about a certain king from the region of Paldea and wondered about what his opinion on him truly was.
“… It's been how many centuries since you stopped being Kyurem?” you asked him curiously.
“… Mmm, a long time,” he responded with a yawn, clearly having been pulled from just falling to a slumber, “Are you curious about my troubled past now, heehee?” A giggle followed, of course, but his eyes were now alight with intrigue about your unexpected question.
“Like… Say, two thousand years ago?” you asked him. He blinked.
“Mmm… Exactly two thousand? I had separated from Kyurem, and Ingo and I were…” his eyes darted to stare at the wall, “We were busy.” You felt like he was holding back information, but it felt unrelated to what you were pursuing. It was something that you would come back to later.
“… Do you know about the king of Paldea?” you asked him. He actually tensed up at your words. It seemed he did then. You also recalled that Zekrom would scorch lands that let go of righteousness.
“… Distantly,” Emmet replied, “I was verrrrry busy in Unova, but I did make a visit to those lands.” There was that word busy again.
“Did you and Ingo scorch Paldea for turning to greed and corruption?” This time, he let out a sigh. Sitting up, you watched him pout at you.
“… Somewhat…” he answered this time. You knew it. With wide eyes, you felt stunned.
“Wow, you guys did actually do your legendary duties at one point!” you gasped. Emmet's face shifted to offence.
“We still do!!!” he whined, “It's just peaceful now! There is no reason for us to intervene.” You laughed at his reaction. They probably still had jobs to do, yes, but they spent most of their time directing the Unovan subway system. You think they took that job more seriously than they probably did running Unova if you recalled the history of the region correctly. His pout was getting to you, though, so you gave a soft peck to his cheek for answering all of your questions.
Another whine came from him as he fluttered his wings a few times. You were pulled into his lap, where he nuzzled his face into your nape with a hum. More heat came from him as you realised just how cold it was out from under the covers. It was always nice to talk to the twins about their existences as legendary pokemon, but they obviously preferred you to view them as the funny train men in the Gear Station.
It was obvious that Emmet enjoyed the reputation of being Reshiram, but he would rather someone talk to him about his massive Joltik collection rather than how he once governed over Unova with his brother. Pokemon battling tactics were a better choice than how it felt to once be a Kyurem thousands of years ago. Your curiosity remained strong about their past, even when they mentioned how you were the mate of Emin, their name Kyurem. A sigh came from him.
“I'm not some terrifying dragon god all the time,” he told you, “Today. I am Emmet, and I am your cuddly boyfriend.” You could not disagree with that. Pressing your back closer to him, you linked your fingers with his and smiled at him.
“You are both a giant terrifying dragon god and my cuddly boyfriend,” you joked, “And enjoy both very much.” A loving peck to his lips ended the conversation as you both took to watching the snow pile up from outside your window.
Emmet felt a pit in his stomach, still.
He knew you would one day ask about the past with him and Ingo.
It was still a thing they wished to keep from you because of the shame that lingered from it.

Omfg, you're so right I totally forgot about the Klinklangs!! Which, lmao, you can also get in chargestone cave and it evolves at level 38. This is so funny for them if these are like, their first five pokemon, and they got four of them at the same cave, and litwick you can get pretty much right next door to it if I'm remembering it correctly. I don't know why, but this is so funny to me. Maybe they got their klinks because their starters were just way too squishy, so they needed something that could tank a few hits and of course they were going to pick steel types for that because they love them.
God, grinding litwick, tynamo, and joltik from level 5... they are very hard workers and had to have been good at strategy to make it work the whole way through. They're definitely more dedicated than a lot of trainers, who just want whatever is strongest. I know that like a blitzle probably would have worked out better in terms of power levels, but when has that ever stopped them from just using their faves? Their team comps are terrible as adults, but they clearly are just ones that they like best, screw getting ones solely to make their teams more comprehensive.
And yes!! They were definitely already sharing pokemon, probably pretty much from the start. As you said, they're a team, and more than anything else their absolute specialty is multi battles. (I like to imagine that Tate and Liza really look up to them lol)
Which... makes me have a lot of feelings suddenly about that fight in Ounce of Prevention?? If Ingo, despite not having any memories of it, was subconsciously training his pokemon to work well in multi battles. You know how in the game, when you fight him he actually says Emmet's lines, not his own? What if he was also training them sometimes the way Emmet would his own? And that's why they worked so easily with him, because they already knew his signals. They share pokemon so much that Ingo just automatically started preparing them to work like they would if Emmet needed them for a double battle
"You know how in the game, when you fight him he actually says Emmet's lines, not his own?"
ok kind of addressing the last thing first but you have no idea how fast i ran to check this in my pla copy when bulbapedia didn't have the training grounds quotes and oh my fucking god he does... "Follow the rules and drive safely! We're headed for victory! All aboard!" it's not 1:1 but those are so obviously emmet's lines. SPECIFICALLY his multis lines! i'm going to cry how am i possibly supposed to handle this! ingo!!!!
...i actually was about to type the rest of this post but i decided to actually finish the battle against him, just for the hell of it and to see what he said afterwards, and guys. fucking. "Sometimes I find myself saying things without knowing where the words come from... yet those words seem to fill me with power. But returning to the matter at hand: I hope you'll challenge me again sometime." INGO I CAN'T FUCKING TAKE THIS
anyway ahem. normal again. what were we saying. oh right, starters. yeah, klink are still not really on the level of the other pokemon you'd generally be facing in the 30s-40s, being a first evolution, but they're at least sort of defensive (as much as anything can be with that bst, lol) and they have the steel type's nigh-comprehensive type resistance going for them. so yeah those two probably uhhh Carry for a while i'm betting
yeah it's like. they're like these, once-in-a-generation strategy-minded trainers, and they use that power to do whatever they want and use their favorites forever. and honestly good for them. and YEAH THEIR SPECIALTY IS MULTIS... ok tate and liza looking up to them is adorable.
and yeah in ounce of prevention,,, for ingo it was just like he was given some pokemon to train, mostly free rein, and no actual memories to guide him, so he was just like. well, This Is How You Train Pokemon. to respond to all these cues, in a wide variety of strategies, in multiple different battle formats (...battle whats, now?) you teach them to... recognize these signals that you rarely, if ever, use... because it just feels like The Thing To Do... it feels important, for some reason...
...god i'm sorry i'm still not over the fact that ingo says emmet's actual lines and then proceeds to muse that those words seem to fill me with power. how am i POSSIBLY supposed to deal with this. lies down on the floor

radio static chapter 6 is fashionably late lol
Chapter Summary: "Rumors are spread and, naturally, make their way back to their subject."
Chapter Word Count: 3,365
Links: ff.net | neocities
can also be read below the cut:
What he was doing to himself was bad, and he knew that. But how could he stop, how could he let himself rest when his brother might still be out there?
Ever since he and Elesa had had their talk, Emmet had been searching practically every second that he wasn’t working. She had clearly noticed, and had already made her concern apparent to him. Each time, he had assured her that he would be more diligent in taking care of himself. They both knew it was a lie.
He did his best to remember, if only not to worry anyone. He’s already caused them, especially Elesa, so much grief. But sometimes, it felt like if he stopped for even a second, even just to sleep for a few hours, he wouldn’t be able to start back up again. It was hard to remember even the most urgent of his own needs when he had that weighing over his head.
He knew it was wrong, maybe even selfish. But he couldn’t stand the thought of giving up on his brother when he felt like he was finally close to some kind of hint, sign, anything.
A passenger glanced at him nervously. He realized how tight the expression on his face was, and tried to relax his brow, and to instead focus on the sound of the train thundering through the tunnel around him.
Just breathe, he thought to himself. Remember what you talked about.
Emmet’s brother was missing. This was a fact. He had no clue where he could have been. All of the reasonable places he could have been found had long been searched dozens of times over. They had not even found the smallest clue as to where he had gone. This was also a fact.
Another fact: Emmet had thought his brother was dead for months, and had recently begun to think he might not be. And yet…
He is probably already dead, anyway, if he wasn’t at first, he couldn’t help but think. He is already dead or he is going to be soon, because you are wasting your time and you are not going to make it and-
Stop, he thought. Take a breath.
Three in, three out; just like he used to tell his brother.
Panicking will not help you find Ingo any faster. Think about the facts. Think about what you know for sure.
Deep breath in. One, two, three. Deep breath out. Okay.
Ingo had been missing for almost half a year, and Emmet had been conducting his own search for about half of that time. His worries had not gotten any easier to handle with time.
Dragons knew he was trying, but as much as he knew, logically, that the best way to help his brother was to calm down and just focus on the facts, he just couldn’t stop his mind from going through all of the worst possible scenarios.
It had been a bad habit of his for a very long time.
“Being prepared for the worst is good,” Ingo had once told him. “But getting too wrapped up in hypotheticals can only lead to derailment. It would be best to focus on what is happening in front of you. Just take a breath, it’s alright. Disaster has not struck yet, and we know what to do if it does.”
Except for this time, he thought woefully. And how could they, even with their meticulousness with most everything they did?
Ingo had usually been able to tell when Emmet got too far off-track, be it from worry, distraction, or anything else. He was usually able to bring him back down when he started to spiral into such thoughts, and Emmet would do the same for him.
Now, though, Ingo wasn’t there to help Emmet stay in check. He was trying, but it was very difficult. His brother was missing, without a single lead as to his whereabouts even with all of the time that had passed, to the point where he had been convinced he wasn’t anywhere to be found at all. To say he was worried would be a gross understatement.
Somehow, though, his own fear was not his largest obstruction.
Here was another fact: Emmet had been the last person to see Ingo. This was not surprising. They worked together, they lived together, and they were arguably the most important person in each other’s lives.
The two of them had gone into the tunnels, as they had seen something strange on the cameras and had decided to investigate it together. Somewhere along the way, they had gotten separated.
Emmet had not found anything, and assumed the same for Ingo. He had called out for him, and had gotten no reply. He hadn’t thought very much of it at the time; the tunnels were quite expansive, and he may have already left them. Not very long later, his brother disappeared.
From an outsider’s perspective, the story was as follows:
The two of them went into the tunnels. Emmet came back out. Ingo did not.
Emmet had not initially believed that this specific detail held very much importance. Others, however, seemed to disagree.
Despite how hard he had been working to help find Ingo, or even just the smallest hint at where he might have gone, some believed that he was to blame for his brother’s disappearance.
Personally, Emmet did not take much offense to this, despite how much it hurt to hear. The first suspect is almost always either the one who last saw the person in question, or the one personally closest to them. Emmet just so happened to be both. If he was anyone else, he would not have entirely written himself off as a suspect, either.
Besides; they were right, in a way.
The train pulled to a stop, and he disembarked with the rest of the passengers. Despite the way the muffled mess of sound around him made his head pound, the way the bodies accidentally brushing against him felt like sandpaper even through his coat, it felt nice.
In the thick of the crowd, he felt that, for a moment, he could be no one. Just another person in the sea of people that flowed in and out of the station each day. Free from scrutiny and the public eye.
But he was never truly free from it, because he could never be without himself. Himself, to blame and to be blamed by. Sometimes he made himself so sick, he thought it a miracle he was even functioning as suboptimally as he was.
If he had only made sure to stay by Ingo’s side, if he had only thought to find him sooner, to reach out, or had just done something, anything differently, then he might have still been with him. He would have done anything just to know that his brother was safe and alive.
Please be alive.
He had to be. Somewhere, he had to still be alive, and Emmet would find him and bring him home. That had to be the truth, because if it was not, then Emmet would not know what to do with himself.
He could already feel himself coming apart at the seams, more and more with each passing day, hour, each minute that Ingo was still gone.
So, no, he would not have hurt his brother. He could barely live without him while knowing it was temporary (and it was, because it had to be). He knew this. Others, who did not know him, who could not see into his mind, did not. And Emmet did not blame them, nor did he think it was a very big issue, despite how their numbers were growing more and more by the day.
Not everyone agreed with this.
As the crowd parted, spreading out towards different destinations, the spell was broken, and reality hurtled back into him at lightspeed. He thought he spied a familiar figure, but it seemed a bit early. As he moved out of the way of the other arriving people, he checked his watch. Yes, it was almost noon, and Elesa typically came to the station closer to two in the afternoon.
While he was distracted, she had weaved between the groups of travelers and made her way over to him.
“Hello, Elesa,” he greeted. “Not that I’m unhappy to see you, but isn’t it a bit early for you to be here?”
She scratched at a spot just below her ear, and glanced about. Nervous.
“We finished the shoot early,” was all she offered. She said something else; he thought she might’ve asked him something, but it got lost in the noise around them.
“I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” he asked.
“I asked if we could go somewhere less crowded,” she said, her voice raised quite a bit but still barely audible. He didn’t even want to try to shout over the din, so he simply nodded and beckoned her to follow him to his office.
As they made their way there, he was suddenly very glad she had asked it of him; he hadn’t much time to spare, but he realized then just how much he needed to be away from all the noise and the swarms of people.
As he gently closed the door, it felt as though they entered a vacuum chamber, shutting out everything beyond those beige walls. Unfortunately, the sudden silence only seemed to accentuate his headache.
He gestured for Elesa to sit down; he and his brother technically had their own offices, but it was simply easier to work next to each other, even if they didn’t actually need to be together to communicate.
As she gingerly took a seat in the chair adjacent to his desk, he settled into the one behind it. It felt like a strangely clinical affair, quiet and sterile. He wasn’t typically one to break the silence, but Elesa must have come for a reason, and it was clear she wouldn’t offer it on her own.
“So, Elesa… Was there something you needed to tell me?” he asked, hoping it sounded genuine and not impatient.
She clasped her hands in her lap, over her rapidly bouncing leg.
“Yes, actually,” she said. “It’s just… well, it’s not easy to say. It’s probably even harder to hear.”
“I’m sure I can handle whatever it is,” he said. He figured that nothing could really make their situation any worse than it already was. They were already living the worst-case scenario. Still, he was nervous; Elesa wasn’t one to make a fuss over nothing.
“If you’re sure,” she said, fidgeting with her hair. She took a deep breath, but it didn’t seem to help. “Emmet, there’s… well, you know better than anyone how the investigation is going,” she said.
He stood up straighter at the mention, and leaned forward, paying her his full attention.
“...Go on,” he said, flat even by his own standards.
Her fingers drummed an anxious beat against her knee. “Well, lately, there’s been some… rumors. About you, specifically,” she said, looking as though she feared saying it too loud would summon those spreading it.
“Oh, that? I already know,” he said. Was that all it was?
She gaped at him. “You knew? For how long?”
“Of course I knew,” he said, confused. “No one’s exactly subtle about it. Really, it’s the natural conclusion to draw, even as silly as it is in reality.”
“So you’ve known people were saying that about you the whole time?” she asked, disbelieving. “And you never thought to bring it up?”
“What is there to say? People lie about other people all the time,” he stated.
Her leg bounced faster. “This is different. This could get you into serious trouble,” she said.
He couldn’t help a small laugh. It felt condescending, but his guilt was mostly covered by his incredulity.
She bristled. “I’m serious, Em! I really think-”
“I am aware, Elesa,” Emmet interrupted, something he usually tried to avoid, especially with someone he cared about and respected as much as her. Unfortunately, Emmet really didn’t have the patience to sit around discussing rumors that they both knew were untrue, not when he could be doing… well, pretty much anything else.
He wanted to say that he appreciated her worry, even if he believed it to be unfounded. But he was not a liar, even with the things he told himself.
“We both know that what they are saying is wrong. I do not see the point in discussing it further. I need to go now,” he said shortly (another thing he typically tried to avoid; he would have to apologize for his manners later), and got up to leave.
Quicker than he, she stood up with him and blocked his exit. If he pushed past her to leave anyway, he knew she wouldn’t fight it. Still, the naked concern and heartbreak in her eyes gave him pause.
He sighed. He knew she meant well, but they were wasting time. Still, he stopped. He felt guilty, seeing how visibly relieved she was by that; ever since Ingo had disappeared, she had seemed to be anxious whenever he was out of her sight, as though she feared he might vanish, too.
He owed her so many apologies, and so many thank-yous.
She took a deep breath, and sighed.
“I know that it’s not true, and I know that dwelling on it isn’t going to help us find Ingo,” she said. Emmet almost asked what her point was, but she looked him in the eyes and spoke over him. “But, that’s not the point. The point is that this is going to have serious consequences for you if it starts spreading further around.
“If a large enough group of people starts to believe that this… theory has any validity, they’re going to want answers, and they won’t be happy with any you can give unless it’s what they’re already expecting to hear.”
Emmet blinked.
“I do not see your point,” he said, confused (and somewhat impatient).
Elesa eyebrows shot up, before furrowing again in frustration. “You-” she cut herself off with a groan. “Emmet, you need to take this seriously. What happens if something else comes up, and it starts to sound legitimate? What if investigators start getting in your way instead of helping you? What if it starts getting media attention? There’s no doubt you'll be hounded and harassed at every turn.”
“I am Emmet. I still do not see your point. Say it does get more attention. So what? As of now, there is no body, or anything else to suggest that any sort of crime took place here the night Ingo disappeared. I could not have been involved in a crime that, by all means, never occurred,” he pointed out, pushing down his nausea at his own flippant way of discussing the incident in favor of a neutral tone.
“Maybe so,” Elesa said. “But that’s just based on what we know right now. Something else could always come up, legitimate or not. They could search your apartment. You could get questioned again.”
“I have nothing left to tell them. Nothing would change,” he said.
Elesa was growing visibly agitated. Clearly struggling to avoid raising her voice, she said, “It’s not as simple as that. Do you really think every single person who confesses to a crime is guilty? How do you think that ends up happening, if they aren’t? And I’m… I’m already worried about you, and there aren’t too many people invested in this idea yet. If it keeps up, if it gets bigger, who knows how it’ll affect you.”
He knew what she was implying. It almost hurt to hear from her. But he also knew she meant well. He was not offended. Mostly.
“And- and- look,” she said, gaining back his attention. “Let’s say that doesn’t happen, or there’s not enough other evidence, or the validity of it is questioned. Let’s say there’s no legal ramifications for you. It doesn’t necessarily matter to everyone else what a courtroom decides, if you really did anything or not, or if, legally at least, Ingo may as well have simply got up and walked away. They’ll believe what they want to, regardless.”
She moved to grab his shoulders, wanting to get his full attention, but thought better of it. Emmet was grateful for that. His skin was crawling and his stomach was churning; he didn’t think he could have handled being touched at that moment.
“Just… there’s just more to it than that. Reporters, everyday people who want information that you just don’t have, or Dragons forbid want to take justice into their own hands. Even if you didn’t do anything, this could get dangerous for you. I just worry,” she finished.
Emmet hated being wrong. But he was not sure how to refute that. Emmet had meant it when he said he understood where the rumors were coming from. They would have been the same had his and Ingo’s positions been switched. But he would have been lying if he had said that some of the things he overheard did not get to him, sometimes.
“...Even so, what am I meant to do about it?” Emmet asked.
Elesa sighed, though this time she seemed more relieved than anything, her shoulders sagging as if a weight had just been lifted from her. “Just… try to lay low for a while. No reporters, no media, no nothing. Just- just stay safe, alright? I know you want to find Ingo - we all do. But don’t put your own safety at risk,” she said, then hesitated. “He wouldn’t want that.”
Emmet was almost insulted. Her phrasing made it sound like he was dead. She had been the one to convince him not to believe that in the first place. He bit his tongue, though, and nodded; he knew what she meant. And besides, she was right.
More importantly, though, he couldn’t help Ingo if he let those people and their theories get in his way. He didn’t have time to waste entertaining their paranoid suspicions, and anything he said would only be interpreted in the worst light possible.
Elesa was right. It would be best if he laid low for a bit while he worked to bring Ingo home. He already had his hands full with his regular responsibilities at the station - he couldn't afford to have anything else cut into his time spent searching.
For as long as he could, he would do what he could to avoid publicly discussing it, and just try to fulfill his duties - both as Ingo’s brother, and as a Subway Master.
For Ingo, he told himself.
For Ingo.
Emmet glanced at the clock. He would need to head back to work, soon. She had caught him in the middle of his break, and he’d need to leave right about then in order to make it on time. Elesa followed his eyes, and understood.
Before he left, she hugged him tight, and he leaned into it. She wiped her eyes as they parted.
“Just… take care of yourself, okay?” she asked.
“Okay,” he said, and this time, he meant it (but didn’t he always?). “You as well.”
He didn’t like how surprised she seemed to hear that.
He held the door open for her as they both exited the room. He straightened his cap and headed off, waving one final goodbye.
He took a deep breath, and headed off toward his assigned platform.
It would be alright.

I have no idea why, but I thought Mint was Dawn/Lucas/Barry's age. I didn't expect them to be a whole 19 years old XD. Though them being 19, how does Emmet even take them under his wing? Aren't they a little old at that point to need a mentor, even if he has new/weaker pokemon?
Sorry, I'm just trying to understand how Mint and Emmet's dynamic even works after everything calms down. It doesn't seem like Emmet has much to offer besides being a more straightforward person than what their grandma was.
And even if Emmet's a strong trainer what's stopping Mint from just finding some other ace trainer to get tips from? I think you even said Frontier Brain Argenta was their blood relative (who would probably be just as straightforward as Emmet would be in her teachings if they asked her to be their mentor). So wouldn't they gravitate more to her than to Emmet, her being actual family?
IDK if I'm saying my questions right (words are hard), but I guess I'm trying to ask is what makes Emmet the person Mint wants to learn from when they really only knew the man for a collective few days at most (if I'm remembering the timeline of events correctly)?
I can assure you a 29 year old can absolutely mentor a 19 year old. Mint is only just getting an idea of what they want to do and how be a proper adult.
Mint spends allot of the story trying to meet their grandmother expectations or to help the pokemon they perceive to be in danger.
While Ingo is who Mint is chasing and offers some sound advice before he and Akari run off, Emmet is the one Mint will have a few full conversations with long before the kidnapping. Emmet and Elesa ask Mint about the lab they work for and Mint boast about their position and their success and how Team Flora wants to help others. But then when the two start pressing for more details and what the lab has done, Mint starts to put things together and realizes that, yeah, it doesn’t add up at all.
Emmet is the person who helps Mint see the truth. To inspire them to look deeper into what the lab is actually doing. And when Looker makes contact with Mint, to find Proof.
They and Emmet cross paths enough before the eggnapping and kidnapping that they have a respect for each other. When Emmet is kidnapped Mint does everything they can to help him, both getting medical supplies to care for any injuries and to keep his real identity a secret. It’s about a day or two between when Emmet is brought in and when Ingo and the others go to rescue him, so they do talk quite a bit in that time.
And it’s not just a matter of looking up to someone who’s strong. Emmets skill with his Pokémon does not even really factor into Mints respect for him. (Ingo is the one Mint battles usually.) Emmet being so straight forward and honest with Mint is exactly what makes Mint respect him. Right now, everyone else Mint is suppose to work with us either dismissive to them, lying to Them, or clearly lying to themselves to continue working at a place like this.
(Or just entirely to happy with their job, which is what’s going on with Belladonna’s second command researcher, Sarin. He’s the one who does most the hands on experimenting and is a rotten individual.)
Also, Mint isn’t close at all with Argenta. She’s their dad’s older first cousin who visits for holidays occasionally but not much other then that. Argenta is Belladonna’s favorite niece and her successes were always used in comparison to Mints dads. So like, she’s family, but not someone Mint grew up knowing at all.
But yeah, to clear things up: Mint knows Emmet for longer then a few days. They cross paths over a dozen times and Mint was the Lab grunt that would show up when the cops reported capturing ‘Ingo’. (Blaze did not bother because he’s busy actually tracking him down lol)
After the main plot, when everyone is zapped to Unova, Mint is sent by international police to spends a few weeks in Unova with them as they are a VERY valuable witness to everything that happened and there are a handful of dangerous team flora members that got away. (Including the before mentioned doctor Sarin as well as another enforcer character Zhenniii and I have been working on called Scald. Cause every pokemon story needs a post-game plot/villian.)
So it’s durring the time in Unova that Mint gets to know everyone better and they all really bond. But since Emmet was who really helped Mint see the truth of what was happening and the fact that they were there to help him and update him during his kidnapping, the two do become close friends and Mint genuinely looks up to him.
Also Emmet must teach them his ways of resisting electric Pokémons shocks if Mint wants to help with the Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode lol

Extended Family - Ch 3
This was started by @zestofthedepths with this post, so make sure to read their chap first! The second half of that first chapter is in the comments, and I've been building on it. Huge thanks to them for this idea!!! I'm having a ton of fun writing it!
[Part 2] [Part 4]
Words: ~1500
When they finally reached the ground, Emmet practically threw himself off the Braviary and simply laid on the dirt for a minute. His legs wouldn’t stop shaking. His heart rate finally returned to normal, the swimming in his head subsiding. He heard footsteps around him and voices. After a few minutes, one in particular came close to him and he felt hands on him. “Emmet, are you sure you’re okay? You look like you’re going to be sick.” Emmet lay there, not acknowledging Elesa for a couple more minutes. Then, when the world stopped slushing back and forth, he groggily sat up.
“I am Emmet. We are taking a boat back to Unova.” Elesa laughed loudly, doubling over while trying to help Emmet up.
“That’s fair, no more heights for you. We can take a train around Sinnoh after getting Ingo, too, if you’d like.” Emmet perked up at that. He immediately began to stim, his hands rubbing against each other and flapping in place.
“Can we investigate the native Pokemon here? Maybe battle some trainers? I’d love to see their strategies. See what safety procedures they have in the train stations-”
“Yes, of course. But first, let’s go find Cynthia and get Ingo back and return these two to where they belong.” Emmet nodded, his hands flapping harder as she led the way towards the station. “We can take a train to Celestic Town, Cynthia said she’d wait for us there.” Emmet’s smile broadened. He loved trains. He knew Elesa was probably just doing it to make up for the long flight here, but he wasn’t going to complain.
The engine pulled up, at which Emmet immediately rattled off the make, model, year, and stats about the train in short, clipped sentences. Elesa let him, not fazed. Adaman and Irida watched him with wide eyes, but still did not say anything. Emmet grinned as they stepped on, getting into a booth. “Well-kept, but could use some work around the base. If they added an extra coat here, there would be much less scuffing of the bottom of the walls and chairs. They must use a different cleaner. I wonder-” he continued on rattling off, filling the unnatural silence. He had never really liked silence, especially after Ingo had disappeared. So he had taken to filling the silence itself, even though it physically hurt. His voice was hoarse from constantly muttering to himself and calling out. He didn’t dare mention it to anyone.
“So this is what a train is?” Irida asked suddenly. “Ingo talks about them all the time, but cannot mention much other than a metal box that moves. And he was right. That’s exactly what this is.”
“Oh, but there is so much more!” Emmet announced. “You see, trains were first invented in…” and he talked and talked about trains, as Ingo would have done. Elesa, who was sitting next to him, produced a bottle of water from her purse and passed it to him without saying anything. His hands flapped incessantly, the excitement in his system not able to be contained currently as he told every single train fact that he knew to these people. They didn’t seem to mind much. In fact, Irida was smiling.
By the time the train came to a stop in Celestica Town, Emmet finally took a breath. “That was more talking than you’ve done to another person in a while, Emmet,” Elesa said quietly. EMmet merely nodded as he took a drink of the water bottle. They exited the station, heading out into the town to look for the building that Elesa had mentioned.
“It’s weird. You and Ingo are so alike, and yet so different,” Irida said absentmindedly. “He talks constantly, but you seem a little awkward talking a lot, even if you enjoy the subject. He always frowns, though his voice says he’s excited. I thought he was severely upset for the first few months I knew him. It took me awhile to realize he just can’t do anything other than frown. He doesn’t move much in general, but you can tell when he’s happy if you look.” She glanced over at Emmet. “Your voice carries nothing but your face and actions speak for you. You share the same face and wear the opposite colors. Yet… I feel like I understand him better now that I’ve met you.” Emmet raised his eyebrows in surprise. “You also don’t seem to be able to do anything other than smile,” she grinned. Emmet’s smile widened in response.
“Neither of us can control our face. Ever since we were kids. Ingo likes words. I do not. I need him back. We don’t make any sense apart.” Adaman nodded.
“I’m not as close to the guy, but he always did throw me for a curveball. A very nice guy, just odd when you first see him.” Emmet didn’t know if he should take offense to that.
“We’re here.” Elesa approached a building and knocked on the door, which quickly opened to reveal a blonde woman wearing all black.
“Ah! Hello! You must be Elesa. And you are Adaman and Irida? And you’re Emmet.” She ticked off the four of them. Adaman and Irida looked at her, stunned. “Come in, come in, don’t mind the mess. Ever since the late Champion disappeared, I’ve had a lot on my plate.” She held open the door and the four of them piled in and looked around. It was a quaint little house, with a TV, a table, a bed, and a kitchen. The table was littered with artifacts and papers, some spilling onto the floor. A Garchomp sat by the TV, watching them with interest. Adaman and Irida paused for a moment at the sight of it before entering the room. “So Elesa tells me you are from ancient Sinnoh - I apologize, Hisui? That’s fascinating, I love learning about the region’s past. I believe I learned about you two in school, in fact!” Cynthia smiled at the two time travelers, gesturing for the four of them to sit down at the table. “Oh, but where are my manners? Tea or coffee for anyone?” Elesa took a coffee, everyone else politely declining. Adaman and Irida had never even heard of coffee.
“Thank you for the hospitality, Cynthia. You see, there is actually a double mission here. Not only have Adaman and Irida here been displaced from the past, but there is someone in the past that does not belong there. Do you remember three years ago when then missing person’s investigation happened? The Subway Master, Ingo?” Cynthia tapped her chin.
“Yes, I do believe I remember that.”
“I am Emmet. Ingo is my brother,” Emmet cut in. “Adaman and Irida say he is in ancient Hisui. I aim to bring him back.” Cynthia knitted her brows.
“Hmm. Hold on, just a moment.” She got up and searched through the papers, rifling through them at an alarming speed. She scuffed through an old journal, yellowed photos, even some old clothing that Elesa watched with hungry eyes. Emmet would have laughed if he wasn’t so strung out. “Here!” she announced, holding up a single piece of paper. She studied it and Emmet, looking back and forth. “I thought I could recognize you from somewhere, but could not remember where.” She showed him the paper.
It was a photograph, taken in sepia and yellowed and cracked with age. The photo depicted a Pokemon that looked something like a Sneasler, as if it had been stretched out against a background of rock. It stood next to a figure, with one clawed hand on their shoulder. The figure was gripping the brim of a familiar cap, wearing a coat that was shredded to bits, but Emmet would recognize blind. The piercing silver eyes gazed directly into Emmet’s. He gasped audibly, unable to tear his eyes from the photo. The goatee was different, but he recognized his brother. Elesa stood behind him suddenly, looking over his shoulder. “Ingo,” he breathed. “It’s true. He’s there. In the past.” Elesa’s breathing hitched behind him.
“Yes, Warden Ingo has been something of a mystery to archeologists for a long time. Sources indicate that one day he simply appeared in Hisui and worked his way up to becoming the Warden of that Noble, a now-extinct species of Pokemon known as Sneasler. Nobody knows where he came from or where he went. One day he just… disappeared. Nobody talked about him after that.”
“How long do the records indicate he was there?” Elesa asked.
“It’s not certain, but only a couple years is the current guess. He disappeared as suddenly as he appeared. And the odd thing is, most of the time, after the passing of a Warden, the Clan that the Warden belonged to would bury them at their Noble’s seat, as a tradition. Never has a grave been found for Warden Ingo.” Emmet snapped his head up. Adaman and Irida glanced at each other uncomfortably. They must not like the idea of burying their Wardens.
“Then we get him back,” he said simply. “How do we begin?”

Day 30 - New Friends
Fic if you want to read every posted day : https://archiveofourown.org/works/51386731/chapters/129854215
While Ingo was in front babbling with Cynthia about Pokemon battle, Emmet in his case, preferred to stay slightly behind to let them the space they needed to talk in peace, Next to him was the champion Dawn, who, since the start of the day, seemed to avoid initiating any conversation, as she seemed lost in her head for some reason.
It was strange, but Emmet didn't pay any mind, she was probably occupied with more pressing matters about the league, and as much as it was an honor that she accepted his request – something he was still surprised about, as he was thinking he was going to be turned down - he cannot stop himself to feel bad for disturbing Dawn and Cynthia in their already busy schedule, that don’t mean he regret anything, he is satisfied that his plan for Ingo’s anniversary and their vacation worked better than he through it would, but he still feel bad.
It took a long time to put their perfect vacation in place – even if there was no train, so it wasn’t totally perfect – He knew his brother by heart, and how to make him happy, so his best bet was to find someone who would share their love for battle and would be okay to guide them around in the new region, and lucky for him there was the Champion of Sinnoh and the previous champion who were more than happy to help.
They even got the chance to have a battle against them!
And even if it was a shame to have lost with flying color against Dawn and Cynthia, he was happy that his brother got to have fun with it.
“hum….Excuse me?”
The tentative voice of Dawn startled the silence between them, It was slightly surprising to say the least, a good one, but still a surprise, he slowly tilted his head.
“Yes? Is there a problem?”
“Oh no, no, no no no, there is no problem!!” she started to shake her hand rapidly, before turning her head away with a thoughtful look as if she was trying to find how to explain what she wished to talk about. “It’s just that…. I have a question, if you don’t mind, it has been bugging me for a while now”
“Oh! I am Emmet, I will be happy to answer your question!!”
That seemed to be enough to encourage the Champion to talk more. “Well, I was wondering about why you asked us to surprise your brother?” Oh….that was that sort of question, Emmet nodded ready to answer, but he rapidly realized that she was not finished. “Don’t get me wrong!! I would have accepted either way to meet you two, It’s not everyday that a strong trainer from another region asks you to make you visit the region for an anniversary, This is the first time even, but I just don’t understand why, why here, in particular Em, you could have ask everywhere in the world but...you decide to come here so….”
Emmet stayed silent for a moment, trying to register the question and all the words she just spilled on him, before finally answering, “So you were curious about my reasoning?”
She nodded to confirm that it was what she was thinking about, That was a simple question that Emmet was more than happy to answer to “I thought it was a good idea, So I did it, there is no profound reason behind my reasoning, I just wanted to make Ingo happy”
“Oh...yeah I understand that make sense”
There was a silence between the two for a moment yet again, more awkward than before, as neither knew how to continue the discussion, They even tried to avoid looking at the other one as the silence was getting progressively worse...finally Emmet decided to talk again, hesitantly “So...You call me Em, Why?”
That seem to surprise Dawn who look more than embarrassed now as she realize her error “Oh... Oh shoot!! I didn’t mean to!!! I just said that by reflex, and …Arceus!! I am so sorry Emmet, I didn--”
The reaction of the champion just made Emmet chuckle loudly “Do not worry, I don’t mind, it is just that there is... not a lot of people who use this nickname, even Ingo does not use it, so I am surprise”
That seemed to reassure the young adult who sighed loudly before hiding her head in her hand to the further amusement of Emmet “Still, this is very embarrassing!!”
“Embarrassing? Yes, but it is very funny too”
“Of course this is funny to you, why am I not surprise?”
“Because I am Emmet!!”
And that seems to break the glass between them as they start to joke and talk more naturally, the tension that was building before seemingly evaporating slowly as the two learn about each other slowly but surely.
______________________
Their vacation did end up on a very good note, as Ingo and Emmet had the chance to visit and try multiple interesting places that Dawn and Cynthia knew about, They even had the chance to fight against other battle facility heads who were more than happy to meet the twins!
But all good things come to an end, The two brothers needed to go back home at the end of their two weeks in Sinnoh, and that also meant that they needed to say goodbye.
“It was a pleasure to have meet you two, My brother and I will never be grateful enough to have take time out of your busy schedule to guide us around”
Cynthia simply laughed it off, smiling at the duo. “It’s nothing really, I am happy that you have been able to enjoy the region!”
“I am Emmet, and it was very fun, thank you!”
“Good to know that it was as fun for you as it was fun for us!” declare loudly Dawn, as she herself smile ear to ear, even if she was clearly sad to see them go so soon, Emmet can understand where it came from, he himself going to miss her.
The announcement in the airport made them know that their plane had arrived at the station, cutting their goodbye short as they had to go, but before Emmet was able to follow his brother, Dawn suddenly stopped him, putting something in his hand with a serious look.
“Em, before you go, I just want to make you know that if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to make me know okay? I would be more than happy to help”
And before Emmet could ask any questions about this sudden change of tone, she was already back near Cynthia, waving at him, He was certainly confused but decided to think about it later on, turning around and catching up to his brother who was already ahead.
It was only when the two were on the plane at their designated seat that Emmet decided to take a curious glimpse at what Dawn had given to him.
“Well, Emmet, I must admit my defeat, your idea for our vacation and anniversary was excellent even with the lack of train”
“Hum?!...Yup, I know, I told you that you would like it”
“You did tell me it is true”
“I am Emmet and I am always right!!”
As his twin laughed loudly at Emmet shenanigan, the latter simply smiled as he put in his pocket the paper where was written the number of Dawn.

How You Meet the Cullens + Jacob
Hi! I've decided I'm going to put some of my stuff from Wattpad, over here. If you want to see my Wattpad, its the same username as I have here. Anyway, this is how you meet the Cullens, + Jacob. Probably intended for female readers, but it could mostly go either way... I think. And I do have the girls as well in here.
Edward Cullen:
Edward and you met at school. Of course.
"Um, excuse me?" You asked a small girl, with short brown hair.
She turned around, revealing her pale white skin, and beautiful golden eyes.
"How can I help you?" She asked.
"I was wondering where Mr. Molina's classroom is?" You replied.
"Oh, yes. I can show you the way!" She grabbed your hand, and pulled you down the halls. (Wow, this is turning into an Alice preference)
"Thank you!" You said, when you two arrived at the classroom.
She pointed inside the room, towards a beautiful boy, with golden hair, and dark, dark, eyes. He glared at her, with his hand over his mouth. I turned to look at her, and she winked back at him.
"Uh, thank you. Oh, I never got your name." You said.
"Alice. Yours?" She asked, still smiling.
"Y/N."
"Well, Y/N, looks like you'll be sitting next to my brother, Edward, in there." She waved, and skipped away.
I walked inside the class, towards the boy, and sat down. He looked away, took a deep breath, then turned back to me.
"Hi, um, I'm Y/N. You're Edward, right?" I asked.
"Yes. I-I am." He seemed like he was in pain or something.
Weird.
Jacob Black:
I had lived in the outermost part of Forks for as long as I have lived. (Sounds like a wedding vow)
We were right next to the border of La Push. Therefore, I go to the school in the reservation.
(I have absolutely NO clue what the school is like there, so I'm making it up)
But, I didn't really talk to anyone. I had a few friends from down in the more central part of Forks, Bella Swan was one of them. She recently moved here full time. I hadn't seen her since I was little.
There was this one kid named Jacob who I had met a couple of times, mostly when he played with Bella snd I while our parents went fishing or whatever.
But, since Bella was going to school in Forks, I decided I would try and re-connect with this Jacob, to see if I could hang out with him.
So, I asked around one day at school for what classes he was in, and found out that he was in one of my classes. How did I never notice? Oh, just me and my oblivious self. (Sorry, if you're like- not oblivious?)
Well, I found him one day.
"Jacob, right?" I asked him.
"Oh, yes, oh, oh! Y/N! Hi!" He seemed to be a very nice boy.
"Yes, it's me. Um, I haven't talked to you in years, I'm surprised you remember my name." I explained.
"I'm surprised you remembered mine." He laughed.
"So, uh, I"m kind of wondering if you want to like, hang out or something. Anywhere works. I just need some company." (Bella who?)
"Sire! You could come by my house today after school and we can catch up. Do you like cars?" He asked.
"Depends." I laughed in response.
"Well, you can come help me too. I like to re-build them."
"Sounds like a plan."
Emmett Cullen:
(for this one you are a vampire already, and yes I basically stole Rosalie's life. Also, if I get facts wrong, don't come for me, just tell me *kindly* and I will fix it)
I became a vampire in 1920. Two years after my brother Edward, and one year before my mother Esme.
I'd been a vampire for 15 years already. How time flies
One day I was running through the forest when I heard screams coming from a small patch. I sprinted towards the place, and saw a boy, probably 20, getting attacked by a bear. I shoved the bear off of him instantly, and bit into it, getting it's blood.
I remembered that the boy was watching, and was probably shaken up, not to mention, he was most likely dying. I turned back towards him, wiping a small bit of blood off of my lip, and said,
"Hello, I'm Y/N Cullen."
"E-Emmet. How did you do that?" He asked, very weakly.
"I have my ways. What hurts?" I asked.
"Everything." Of course-
"I'll be right back. Don't move." Not that he really could. I sprinted back to my house. I opened the door, and Carlisle, Esme, and Edward turned towards me.
"Y/N? What is it?" Carlisle asked.
"There's a boy, Emmett. He got attacked by a bear. He's very weak. You need to turn him Carlisle."
They all sprinted into the woods, and I led them towards where Emmett lay. He was still there, but weaker.
Jasper Hale:
(you're a vampire)
Jasper became a vampire in 1863. (I think)
He was telling me his story.
I had recently been turned into a vampire by Carlisle, after he rescued me, and I hadn't really met the rest of the family yet. (You can make up why you had to become a vampire)
When Jasper had finished the story, I said, "Wow."
"That's all I could get out. His story was just, wow....
I forgot, Edward could read my mind. I only remembered when he chuckled after I thought that.
I gave him an internal glare.
Bella was sitting in the corner, with him.
"So, Y/N, tell us your full story." Jasper smiled.
(Sorry, his is kind of short..)
Carlisle Cullen:
It was my first day working at the Forks Hospital and I needed some directions.
I walked up to mid-height man, with blonde hair, and very pale skin.
"Hello, sir?" I asked him, and he spun around.
"Yes, Ms. Y/L/N?" He asked.
"H-how do you know my last name?" I asked in response.
"I heard someone talking about you coming, and you're the only new face around here. We don't get them often." He smiled, and my heart fluttered. Good thing he wasn't like a super-hearer or anything. {;)}
"Well, uhm, I was just wondering where the surgical ward is?" He pointed towards the left, and I smiled slightly, walking away, and quietly looking back at him after I was sure he couldn't see me.
Alice Cullen:
(You had already seen Alice before, but never interacted with her much, like most of the students)
I was walking around in the forest, when I heard footsteps.
"Hello?" I called out.
"Y/N!" A girl replied, I noticed it was Alice Cullen.
"Oh, hello, Alice." I was a bit confused to how she knew my name, but to be honest, I knew her's too and that's a bit strange. But, everyone does talk about the Cullens.
"What are you doing out here in the forest?" She asked me. I didn't have a valid answer. I could say "Just felt like taking a stroll..." or "Oh, I'm working on my steps." but, none of those were true, I really didn't know what I was doing here.
"Uhm, working on my steps, and taking a stroll....??" I questioned myself.
"Oookay then. Would you like to come with me? I can show you some of my favorite spots to relax." The way she said relax made me think she wasn't relaxing, and probably meant running around and exercising. Just what I needed.
"Sure, sounds great." I smiled.
Rosalie Hale:
Everyone that lives in Forks knows about the Cullens. Even the people in the reservation.
There's the three boys, the goofy one, the silent one, and the constipated one.
Then there's the two girls. Alice and Rosalie.
I've talked to Alice, we've said hi.
But in general, I know nothing about Rosalie.
All I know is she is incredibly smart, beautiful, and did I mention gorgeous?
I've never had the guts to talk to her. Maybe it's that I'm a wimp, or maybe it's that she is very intimidating. Probably a mixture of both.
But today, I got lucky, and didn't have to talk to her. She talked to me.
I had noticed her eyeing me a few times, and I never knew if she was looking down on me, in a bad way, or if she was interested in me. Both ways scared me.
Today, she came up to me.
I was sitting at the lunch table with Angela and Jessica, and the new kid, Bella.
"Y/N, can I talk to you really quick?" She asked.
"Uh, uh, yes, yes, sure." I stood up quickly, and while walking away with her, I turned towards Angela and Jess, and they smiled and winked.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked.
"Well, I wanted to know... did you want to hang out sometime?"
"Like, a date...?"
"Uh, yeah. Like a date." She smiled and we both laughed.
"Sure." I smiled back.
Bella Swan:
Apparently, today Chief Swan's daughter is moving to the school.
I'm looking forward to it, I want to make more friends.
I was standing outside, waiting to see if I spotted her, when a big, orange-red truck pulled into the parking lot.
It must be her! I've never seen that truck before.
I ran up to it, when I saw people laughing at it. Whatever, I think it's cool.
She climbed out of her truck, and I probably startled her, standing there.
"Hi! I'm Y/N Y/L/N. You're Chief Swan's daughter, right?" I asked.
"Uh, yes. Bella Swan." She stuck out her hand, and I shook it.
"So, do you want to know anything, anything special?" I asked.
"Um, I'm not sure...." She said, tucking her hair behind her ear. (Ugh, a classic Bella move)
"No worries. Let me show you to your first class." I smiled, and took her hand, pulling her down the hallway.
Esme Cullen:
I was walking around town, alone. A kind of dangerous move, since there have been so many mysterious attacks lately.
I was looking through random stores, when I noticed Esme Platt, (we're just saying she isn't a Cullen because I guess they aren't married...????) Carlisle Cullen's old friend. (I don't even know how to write this...)
"Hi, Esme." I said.
"Oh, hello, Y/N." She smiled.
"How have you been?" I haven't seen her in a while. We've talked a few times.
"I've been good, how have you been?" She replied.
"I'm great. We really should catch up sometime." I said, trying to be subtle.
"Yes, we should. Do you want to go to lunch tomorrow?" She asked.
"Of course! Where do you want to go?"
"Don't worry about me. I won't eat much anyway."
******
So, yeah, that's it. I'm aware that these aren't perfection, bur they were fun to write so, yeah!
I will be posting a lot more now since I'm getting really into writing again ;)
Thank you all for reading, (not that a ton of people are going to read this lol)
And yeah, see you soon! :3

A prompt for you, dear prompter!
“Ingo sleeps a lot. Sure, Emmett could understand that when he was still recovering from his injuries- but now, he’s almost fully healed. All that remains is some fading bruises and aches. The Ingo he knew was far more active (and the Ingo he didn’t know was as well, much more so than the Ingo that hadn’t yet disappeared.)
He hasn’t tried bringing it up, yet. He’s not sure if his brother could even answer the question, without a good way to verbally communicate.
Although perhaps that was the issue. He hadn’t given it much thought, really, but… perhaps his brother was. Upset? Ingo was always the better talker between the two, always knew just what to say (in his memories of it, at least, it had been… a few years, now, since he’d heard his brother’s voice last), and now he simply couldn’t talk the way he used to. Or was it more than that? He’d noticed Ingo struggling quite often with things like opening jars, picking things up… going from four fingers and a thumb to two clumsy claws seemed difficult. Did he feel like he couldn’t do simple things anymore? Did he feel like a burden, having to rely on Emmett for so many things he had done with ease in the past?
Emmett stays up late at night quite often, long after Ingo goes to sleep, writing in his little theory book that had slowly turned into more of a journal. He thinks too much, and he’s sure his brother would have told him as much if he’d been able to. And he thinks too much about that, too.
(Really, the reason Ingo sleeps so much is because he keeps trying to stay awake, waiting for Emmett to fall asleep too. He doesn’t really have access to things like coffee or energy drinks anymore (not for Sneasels, it wasn’t good for him), which leaves him quite exhausted.
But Emmett wouldn’t know this.
Because Ingo can’t speak.)”
Been looking forward to this since i got it tbh but work ughh. Its under the cut it got rather long and for a mobile user thats a bit to scroll past.
Emmet noticed how much Ingo slept and figured it was from fatigue because of his injuries and the meds. So he tried to remain calm about but it worried him. It wasnt really at the front of him mind though, considering all the other worries he had over his brother so he didnt think much of it. After all Ingo had a slew of injuries for Emmet to fret over. It was when Ingo was mostly healed up that Emmet was finally reminded of the problem. Ingo was sleeping quite a lot. Not most of the day sure but anytime Emmet was distracted for long he would find Ingo asleep. For a little while, right after he stopped having to take pain medicine, it seemed Ingo was more active. For some reason though it seems like hes just always napping when set to his own devices, which really wasnt that often. Now with Ingo off to bed and Emmets mind not occupied with his brothers injuries it wandered to this. Why did his brother sleep so much. It couldnt be a good sign. With a sign Emmet knew what was about to happen. His mind just wouldnt let it go so he set out to make a list. More like write down all his theories till his mind accept that he covered all bases but calling it a list made him feel better about it.
His first idea was because of his sneasel body. Maybe the breed requires more sleep? Though looking into sneasel habits he got to an article about living with one. Which spoke of them being very active and rather hyper pokemon. It also stated that if the sneasel was sleeping a lot then it doesnt have enough enrichment. So sneasels who are bored sleep more. Emmet didnt really buy into this idea since Ingo still had everything in the apartment just like before and he didnt nap 3 times a day then.
Then the idea struck him ‘Ingo is still a human by mind right?’ So he started looking for reasons why humans sleep more than usual. He didnt like what he found. Mild problems from a change in sleep schedule to insomnia or what Emmet would think is the worst depression. Sure Ingo probably did have a different sleep schedule. He hasnt been showing signs of insomnia, since his brother is asleep by the time Emmet goes to return. So that leaves the worst option. It doesnt take long for Emmet to come up with reaosns for his brother to be depressed. Hell Emmet is feeling down about the whole situation himself. He can only imagine what its like for his brother. Now his mind is wandering idea to idea. Ingo struggling with basic things. From opening a jar to using a phone. Let alone all the difficult things he used to do with ease. Emmet knows Ingo lived to cook for them both. Theres no way he can do that now. Ingo cant even go out on his own anymore. Even if he wanted to he cant reach the door handle, or use it. Worst of it all is he cant voice these problems to Emmet. It has been driving Emmet mad not being able to banter with his brother. Long conversations gone for both of them. Though if Emmet misses them deeply at least he can still talk to people Ingo cant. Oh no wonder Ingo sleeps all the time. Emmet probably would to if he had been so reduced as Ingo has. Every waking moment a reminder of what you can no longer do. Emmet can tell its a new change for Ingo just from watching his brother fumble to hold things. He was worried Ingo had been transformed he whole time he was gone but its clear he just got this new form. Which Emmet was relieved to realise. At least he hasnt suffered in silence the whole time he was gone.
How was Emmet going to fix this. Sure making the house more convenient for his brother was already on the list but how to make him feel less dependent on Emmet. Emmet didnt know. First things first he has to figure something out about the language barrier. He cant keep letting Ingo suffer in silence. He needs some way to voice himself. Emmets first thought was writing but after trying to hold any without moving his fingers he knew that would be out. Next was typing. Which wasnt easy but was way easier. It was slow but after a while he was about to get used to it. Ok thats something. At least then he could communicate with him. There was a small “sne” from behind Emmet. Nearly fell out of his chair from the jump. “Ingo why are you up? I did not wake you did i?” A shake of the head and a point to a clock. Its rather late 3:22am. Another but firmer, “SNE” It didnt take a genius to know what Ingo was trying to say. “Ah yes it has gotten rather late hasnt it. Maybe its time i retire.” Ingo trying to stifle a yawn but fails causing Emmet to yawn as well. As Emmet follows Ingo out and turns off the office light he has another though ‘has Ingo been up this whole time waiting on me?’
~liz sorry i know its not much i just lost the flow halfway in smh. It is 4:25 for me so maybe i should go to sleep xD the creator of the au @rosebloodcat actually also talked about Ingo sleeping a lot heres the post! I like to think its emmets second bit take on it. After all i sleep now when i cant do what i used to before the move. Simple things like going to walk to block or just cooking myself dinner. Cant do those where i live so instead i just get sad about it and nap it off. Luckily Ingo has a brother who lives him and makes sure he at least eats dinner xD thanks for the prompt btw i have been wanting to play with it sense you sent it but i got it right as i was walking out the door for work.
