#The Phantom and the Sorceress!

Note
Reading up on Mira lore and I gotta say that I really like their bond with Lena! That said, how does "The Phantom and the Sorceress!" fit with Mira present? If they're Lena's mentor, then wouldn't Webby and Violet take her to them, or is she too embarrassed and/or stubborn to go to them for help?
Ohhh man I've been thinking about that actually-
Tumblr media
My idea has been that they originally go to Mira for help, but it turns out he's been having the same problems with Phantom Blot as well. (Given that his role in a dangerous prophecy makes him a 'magical threat' in Blot's eyes.) He reveals that he recently had a run-in with Phantom Blot, and nearly got his ass kicked, so he's trying to figure out how to stop him as well. And sadly, not much yet.
So Mira can help Lena with her magic like usual, yeah- But with all of them basically in the same boat about Blot, there's really only one other person they know that could have any idea how to take out this guy- and that’s Magica.
Neither him or Lena like this at all, but Mira promises to have the group's back and begrudgingly helps Magica train Lena. But the two are constantly butting heads while doing so.
Tumblr media
Seriously, these two would be at each other’s throats-
When Blot finally comes around for the final showdown, Mira is also a bit of a target of Blot. (Y’know. Magic. Prophecy bs.) But thankfully Lena manages to take blot down as in the episode. And from Mira’s perspective, seeing Lena unlock her true magic gives him a little hope about his own situation.
…Which is near immediately ruined by things going horribly wrong for Mira directly after. (Which is a plot line I’ve mentioned here and there where Talon finds a way to capture/control Mira, leading towards the escape/rescue that ends in him getting his eye scar.)
So yeah- It’s a hell of a lot of fun to think about it, and I’d love to develop it a little further! “The Phantom and the Sorceress!” is one of my favourite episodes of the series, so it’s just kinda neat imagining my weird little dude being a part of it. (And so glad you like Mira and Lena’s dynamic! I need to draw more of them so damn bad-)

What’s your favorite ducktales episode and why?
Either "The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains" or "The Phantom and the Sorceress" Both of them to me personally are infinitely rewatchable (Golden Lagoon potentially more so) and they both got their great gags from Glomgold being a highlight like excessively saying that he and Goldie are dating or Gladstone trying to cope with his normal luck. Any episode with Goldie is great and I genuinely can't place my finger on why. But then again the other episode has Phantom Blot who is one of my favourites so it's a toss-up between those two and maybe "The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck."

Was listening to the “Finale” song from Hazbin Hotel and really listening to Alastor’s part of the song strongly reminded me of Lena’s storyline in DuckTales 2017 and thought it was absolutely perfect.
The only tweak I made to the lyrics is in the third picture.

everytime i think abt house of the lucky gander i start shaking violently pacing back and forth exploding into 50000000 pieces. oooooogh i dont think they know how hard they were cooking. being vague and hiding his problems... aware of being watched.... the obvious shared annoyance at him between scrooge and donald... how he was showing off his luck as an attempt to make the other family members happy and comfortable but not realizing how they truly feel... how he slowly gets frustrated at his own luck and snaps at louie and a few minutes later everything's back to Normal. how he just accepts that the race is happening and there's "nothing" he can do about it......
the least fake thing about him being how much he cares about his family should have remained a core character trait bc it shows how his luck affects how he acts in a more interesting way than him NOT FUKCING REMEMBERING PEOPLS NAMES

Me, fondly remembering my playthroughs of FFVII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, and XII: I don't need more blogs I don't need more blogs I don't need more blogs I do --
Though if I did RP as anyone, it'd hands-down be Beatrix from IX.

Can’t believe magica, powerful evil sorceress, brought her fist to a magic fight
Tumblr media
Literally.
“but I didn’t teach you THIS” she says to lena, and then tries to… punch… lena…? Lena who is a sorceress now??
Tumblr media
I wanna know how she thought this was gonna work out
“oh I’ll just deck the child in the face, because her magic is too strong for me, as she just demonstrated by grabbing me like a rag doll with her magic and tossing me around. But yes! a direct unarmed attack will work perfectly, im sure!”
“What’s that? I already taught Lena how to block sudden physical attacks, while teaching her magic?"
Tumblr media
"PAH! But that was with a WEAPON so OBVIOUSLY just punching her will come as a complete surprise!”
Tumblr media
magica, nothing could surprise lena less than getting punched by you
Tumblr media
seriously

dp/she-ra fic where adora gets thrown through a first ones’ portal that ends her up in the ghost zone. she sustains some pretty hefty head trauma, but is fine aside from some intense memory loss. she’s released into jack and maddie’s care where she ends up as their assistant due to her ~weird~ instinctive knowledge of ghosts. danny is convinced it’s a trap set by vlad
Tumblr media
also adora gets some weird, cryptic and incredibly unhelpful dreams from the sorceress about “defending the honour of greyskull” and “remember who you are, she-ra” that don’t do much but leave adora waking up with an incredible sense of loss
eventually adora pieces together “for the honour of greyskull” is a magical incantation and to use her own words POOF shes in a tiara

The Lamia was the child-eating ‘bogeyman’ of ancient Greece, that used to scare children into good behavior. This mythical she-beast originated as a woman, and transformed over time into a seductress who ate her conquests.

This might seem like a stretch, but I think The Phantom and the Sorceress is a little bit similar to Astro Boyd. The episode starts off with Lena’s powers being on the fritz whereas Boyd begins to glitch at the beginning as well. Lena and Boyd are both considered to be characters that have gone through similar traumas such as having their respective abusers, Magica and Akita, play a part in their creation, trying to make them something they’re not for their own selfish/evil desires, and even taking control of them against their own free will. The episode focuses on Team Magic (Lena, Webby, and Violet) while Astro Boyd focuses on Team Science (Gyro, Boyd, Fenton, and Huey). The Phantom and the Sorceress and Astro Boyd each have villains that made their debut on their own respective episode (Phantom Blot and Akita). The episodes even end somewhat similarly by showing that once Lena and Boyd choose their own path or programming they kind of change a bit of their physical appearance such as changing the color of their eyes from the regular black to a rather sparkling blue, granted Lena gave herself a complete makeover but hopefully you understand what I’m trying to say.

Die Happy - Sanji x Reader
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Sanji is disillusioned about your lack of interest in him. Someone like you could pick and choose among princes, kings and emperors. What's a measly cook to you? Nevertheless, his lovesick heart continuously rejoices when you choose him to waste time with.
WORDCOUNT: ~ 1.3k
Enjoying my work? You can leave me a tip on Ko-Fi
Part 2 -> "Maelstrom"
Sanji has never believed in ghouls, witches, faeries and the like. However, when he met you his belief began to shatter:
Like a dark sorceress covering the whole world with a curse, you lured all the influential, important men like fire does moths. At first, Sanji fooled himself that all those generals, merchants and noblemen only wanted something pretty to hang onto their shoulders but reality destroyed his comforting illusion when the said men offered riches most people couldn’t even fathom. If you asked them for an armada to sail to the Grand Line, they’d only ask what type of wood you’d prefer. Despite something akin to world domination lying at your fingertips, you always laughed those offers off, telling your powerful suitors that you would think about their words and get back to them.
Sanji once asked whether you’re truly considering marrying one of the generals or kings. Some more naive part of him hoped you’d say no. Alas, the truth, once again, was his adversary:
“Obviously!” you giggled at his silly question. “But I won’t marry the first one that offers me wealth and whatnot. First, I’d like to see all of my options and the world…” your voice trailed away as you vaguely pointed around the two of you. “Well, it’s a big place. Many more kingdoms to visit.”
But to his own demise, the cook was a fool unlike any other. He had no chance at winning your heart, no matter how much he’d try. Still, his untamable desire egged him on, whispering sweet songs of your grace. Even if he could taste your lips only in his imagination, he could do his best for you to have a reason to keep him around like a dog that begs for scraps at his master’s table.
Sanji knows he’s only hurting himself, only furthering his desperation when he makes you smile or earns a speck of your affection. Every dawn, he promises to free himself from your sorcery but when dusk comes and his left with the Moon, his only confidant, he realizes that he could never possess enough power to cut himself free from you. You’ve pierced his heart right through and if he pulls your knife out of his chest, he’s bound to bleed out and die. It’s better if he lets you have complete control over his mind and soul - it’s the only way he will make it out alive.
He’s left cold and lonely on that night. Soft, silver moonlight washes over him through the small porthole in the wall of his room. The sea is almost black at this hour of the night but it becomes a mystical sapphire when the Moon’s glow washes over the lazy waves making them glisten like pure diamonds.
Diamonds… maybe if he had diamonds, you’d see him as a man and not just a shipmate.
Quiet knocking on his door wakes Sanji up from his thoughts. Before he has a chance to get up and open the door or tell the guest to come in, the mysterious visitor enters out of their own volition.
Your tired face makes Sanji think about painting in museums - the ones all connoisseurs consider “classics” and “timeless”. The silk shirt you’re wearing looks not only awfully expensive but, which is much worse, to be a men’s size. Its hem ends right underneath your buttcheeks, threatening to expose your body should you lift your hands. In the darkness of his cabin, you appear as nothing beyond a phantom, a hallucination born out of desperation. And just like a ghost, you’ve come to haunt and torment him in the sweetest of ways; in a way only you can.
“What’s wrong, love?” he asks in a raspy voice. Sanji is doing a great job at appearing unaffected by your rather scantily clad form.
Carefully, you close the door behind you and walk towards him. Your skin glows when you step into the rays of soft moonlight pouring in through the porthole. Dishevelled hair, half-closed eyes and a slightly puffy face - Sanji has imagined you this way countless times but never actually seen. He can feel his body burning up, telling him to seize the opportunity, to wash you in the most charming and suave words he can think of.
“Nami kicks while sleeping,” you say quietly. “I swear to god my whole side is bruised at this point. Can I sleep with you?”
Sanji has to remind himself to breathe and to do so calmly. He’s cool, completely in control of himself. His mouth feels unbearably dry.
“‘Course you can,” he answers casually. With a swift move of his arm, he lifts the duvet. “Come on in.”
The pure bliss that suddenly appears on your face forces Sanji to take in a sharp, ragged breath. It’s an expression he also imagined one too many times when his desperation poisons his mind - not that he’s willing to admit it even to himself. He knows it’s wrong to even entertain a scenario in which you would grace him with such an enraptured face. Still, his will is not as strong as he often makes it out to be.
“Sanji, you are my salvation,” you tell him while getting under the covers with him.
“I know, love.”
It’s both strange and natural, the way your body fits his. As though the two of you have done it so much the memory of your muscles twists and turns your limbs to rest in the most comfortable and intimate way. The odd familiarity makes Sanji think that maybe in another lifetime this is how he always sleeps. He wishes he could find himself in that reality even for a second. Alas, it’s too far out of his reach.
“Damn, you’re really comfortable,” you mumble against his chest. Your hot breath makes him shiver. “And warm. I don’t think I’ll be going back to my bed.” A small grin of cosiness appears on your face - one that Sanji will never forget.
His broad chest and strong arm normally go unnoticed by you but now they’re like a fortress. And just like high stone walls are an unspoken promise of security and happiness, his firm hold on your body is a silent oath of a good night's sleep.
“Stay as long as you want,” he whispers back to you.
Maybe if you weren’t so exhausted, you’d notice that his words aren’t a statement but a plea. They’re the last thing you remember before drifting off to a restful slumber.
Your breathing slows down and gains a steady, shallow rhythm. Keeping you close to his chest, Sanji allows his hands to gently brush against your arm and back. His movements are feathery, almost fearful. He wouldn’t want you to wake up and change your mind about spending the night beside him - he can indulge in his heart’s desire but he must do so carefully.
“If you only gave me a chance,” he whispers into the night.
Knowing you’re asleep and bound to remain ignorant of his affections, Sanji kisses the top of your head. His lips linger against your hair while he takes in the scent that haunts him day and night. Unknowingly, his grip around your body tightens at that moment as though he has suddenly grown most terrified of having you disappear. Too many nights he’s dreamed of this exact scenario only to wake up to a cold, empty bed.
When the dawn arrives and you leave his arms, this little moment of affection won't mean anything to you. It means nothing now. Sanji knows this very well. He doesn't try to lie to himself that maybe you'll wake up a changed person and finally see him as more than a friendly comrade. Although tonight means nothing to you, it holds an unspeakable weight to Sanji, who will forever gloat about the fact that when you needed help, it was him you turned to. It was his arms that guarded your sleep for a few hours.
Fighting off sleep until he collapses, Sanji revels in the feeling of you against his body and pretends, even if for one night, that you’re his the same way he will always be yours. Watching you sleep cuddled into him, he swears he could die happy now.

thinking about it, all of eggmans worst defeats are when he gets mystical bullshit involved. (see: perfect chaos, dark gaia, the deadly six, the phantom ruby) whenever it's *just* eggman on his own, he tends to do WAY better. (see sonic 1, 2, 3, cd, adventure 2, heroes)
metal sonic has recognised the pattern. magic = imminent pain. (he is mildly traumatised by the chaos emeralds.)
so imagine his shock when he sees amy just casually pulling out tarot cards to slap enemies with. "oh yeah ive been using the power of the tarot for years!" how immensely powerful does metal sonic think amy is? for years? and she hasnt seen her life be destroyed or completely uprooted? shes just??? using magic???
thus, their relationship is founded on metal sonic believing amy rose is some kind of high-level sorceress queen and therefore has plenty of reasons to be actively cautious yet awestruck in her presence

The ghouls totally play D&D in their free time. They have a designated table in the dorms where they keep their setup. The ghoulettes like to make snacks and appetizers for everyone while they play. The ghouls tried to convince Copia to join them sometime, but he refused... until later on he decided to sit in on one of their campaign sessions and see what it's all about.
Rain paints minis and gets really into it. He has hundreds that he keeps on one of the shelves of his overflowing bookshelf. He has paints in every color, tons of different add-ons like flocking and tiny stone. He makes custom minis for everyone's characters.
Mountain is the resident DM, but sometimes Aether will DM a one-shot so that Mount can play.
Dew plays as a Dragonborn rogue
Rain plays as a high-elf cleric
Aurora plays a fairy bard
Aether plays a half-orc fighter
Cumulus plays a half-elf sorceress
Mountain plays a wood-elf druid
Cirrus plays a halfling cleric
Swiss plays a tiefling bard
and Phantom... Phantom plays a gnome barbarian.
