Autumn Memoirs...

UNFINISHED is a memoir penned by Bollywood and International actor and philanthropist PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS.
It's a chapter--a by-chapter detailed account of PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS's personal life starting from her childhood in an Army background, studying in the STATES all the way through her pageant days and winning the Ms. World crown to her struggles in becoming one of the LEADING BOLLYWOOD FEMALE ACTORS and then INTERNATIONAL FAME and how she found the love of her life and got married. Priyanka Chopra Jonas's narrative is candid and spontaneous like the ACTOR herself. Beginning from her childhood, the author provides a palpable sense of her army surroundings as a child. She uses the most straightforward words to describe a solid foundation provided by her parents who were doctors in the armed forces.
Next, the author attempts to portray the GREATEST OPPORTUNITY presented to a very lucky few in a country of 1.2 billion people falling randomly into her lap because her brother wanted her to be shifted out of his room! She mentions that she was called out unceremoniously on many occasions at work by anonymous men who happened to make sexually provocative/ inappropriate remarks about the Actor's competence and supposed 'LOW PROFILE' position as a female actor in the starting ranks.
I PERSONALLY ADMIRED the way she derives her inspiration from her father LATE DR. ASHOK CHOPRA and her magnetic and fortified mother MS. MADHU CHOPRA. No doubt, her struggles in the film industry present a very BRUTAL REALITY of MISOGNY and an ever prevailing SEXIST attitude towards women who wish to pursue a CAREER in this field for good.
WHAT I THOUGHT COULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT was the flowy language used by the author which definitely gives away a lot about her spunky style, but it can also be distracting from the main plot that tends to be somber and contemplative for a feministic novel.
UNFINISHED is a reminder for every woman to work hard and continue to inspire others around you no matter what takes you down.

«Here’s the one book everyone should read before they die» *bites you* here’s one book written by an author with a specific viewpoint shaped by time and place and circumstances, here is another book written from the exact opposite viewpoint, here’s a war memoir, here’s a peace memoir, here’s the philosophical treatise which inspired the first author, here are dry facts, here are the human fates behind the dry facts, here’s a book that will not teach you kindness unless you’re already inclined towards kindness, here’s a book that will teach you nothing but small sorrows and vague melancholia, here’s the Northern Lights written on paper, here’s a marriage broken, here’s a marriage healed, here’s the case against marriage as an institution, here’s a poem you have to read at least five graeco-roman classics to understand, here’s the unfinished novel that could have been the greatest work of literature ever written if completed, here’s the history of the world as we know it, here’s the book telling you everything not mentioned in the history of the world as we know it, here’s the critique of teleological history, here are five thousand books you should read just to begin chipping away at the surface of human experience

Library of Blessings (祝福のLibrary) english translation
Japanese lyrics used are at the very end. Feel free to let me know about any mistakes or ask any questions about the translation.
Bolded words in the English version represents the words that are written in the song lyrics that they pronounce as the word between dashes (-like this-)
English
God Bless! Life is Novel Letters scattered upon this world Like fragments -pieces- of a star People pick up and collect them, composing a part of a story As it changes within confines of time It is written penmanship -proof- of life Joy Mercy Sorrow, wrath Unsightly things too That beautiful melody -tune- Is here That well-known and celebrated tome -long novel- And that nameless one-line poem Are both equally a god’s publication Aah, extending in a helix Lining up in a bookcase, innumerable shelfbacks The Library of blessings Like tracing on the scale -sound- If you leaf through the pages The wind blowing across them Please may it… Forevermore -eternally- Good and evil are two sides of the same coin Will it be a comedy? Will it be a tragedy? With western ink -ink- that dissolves both love and sin Etch an opus -dream- that engulfs your ideals What do you wish for? What do you desire? Oh illusion of unsolicited remarks With ephemeral Warmth Strength and fragility… Place it upon, incomparable, sublime leaves of sound Let us captivate That way of life Now, from the heavens raining down What that parental fondness -agape- illuminates Is it only tales of success? Nay! That unfinished tale of an adventure -adventure- That upfront memoir Such things are also sacred Come, dearest live’s Poem -song-, resound, let them be gently offered The Library of blessings With a pure heart offer it To the future

This has been in an unfinished state since October 2021.
From the memoirs of Elzear Blaze
When we traveled alone in Germany, a police officer never failed to come greet us at our inn to ask us to write our full names in his notebook. One day we were eating when the policeman arrived and everyone went through the usual formality. When my turn came, I read with surprise the odd Christian name which the man next to me had written -he called himself Monsieur Topinambour Duval (or Dubreuil or Dufour-it makes no difference). "That is undoubtedly a joke you; you've played on the police officer," I said to him. "No, monsieur." "But didn't you call yourself Topinambour?" "Why not?" "I have never known a saint of that name." "Well, it's not the name of a saint; it's the name of a plant* that is more useful than all the saints in the calendar." "Ah, I understand. You were doubtlessly baptized in the year of grace 1793." ** "Monsieur, I have never been baptized." "My sincerest compliments." An employee of the rations service joined in our conversation. He claimed that the republican calendar was much more sensible, that it was better to call oneself cabbage, carrot, and turnip than Georges, Pierre, or Polycarpe. That the peasant very well understood those first names with which he had frequent business every day, while the second set was unintelligible to him All the stories about saints were only falsehood, vague tales, and silly things, while by contrast, using the names of vegetables was a clear and practical idea. "For my part," he said, "in 1793 I discarded my name of Bernard and I have taken that of Betterave."*** "Why rave," an old Hussar officer responded.****
*Jerusalem Artichoke ** The French Revolutionary (or Republican) calendar was adopted in November 1793. The names of the months were changed and saint's days abolished. ***Sugar beet. ****"Bette" is "beet" and "Rave" can be either "turnip" or "radish To have a vegetative name, "bette" would have sufficed.

let's go for a walk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspired by an instagram edit i randomly found while scrolling and thought it was cute! It made me feel safe. It made me feel like i was home (mark) and it made me feel like i was him <3 #delusionalczennie haha
You've been reminding Mark to toss the piled rubbish out, but because he's a careless person, of course, he forgot until today. The front door made a beeping sound when he did so. His shadow suddenly appeared over you as you were preoccupied with the television. halting your performance to take notice of his shadow.
He asked you, "Babe, should we go for a walk?" with excitement. You only responded by humming. He repeated, "Do you want to go for a walk?" Knowing full well that you were preoccupied with who knows what.
It was a cold wintery day, so you knew you needed to put on those clunky boots and your long padded jacket; you're usually cold. Mark zips up your unzipped jacket, giving you the appearance of a penguin.
"You ready, babe?" he asks, taking your hand in his and making sure to turn off all lights except the fairy lights so it's not too dark when you guys get home. As soon as you entered the lobby, he informed you that it would be freezing outside.
You said, leaping up and down, squeezing his gloveless hand, "Dude, it's so cold!" You didn't realize how cold it would be outside because you worked from home today and drank hot chocolate with marshmallows by the fireplace you both finally put together (actually, none of us did, the fireplace people put it together, we don't have the skills, sorry).
"Oiiiiii, it's cold babeeeeeee!!!" and Mark's never-ending "it's cold" and yet you're both still cold, refusing to go back home and warm up with hot chocolate and a hot pack.
"Wowowow," the cheetah-like man said as you twirled about, attempting to raise your body temperature. As a result of the cold, he made some strange noises. I mean, he requested a walk. During the winter. That's exactly what you get.
When the wind blows, Mark immediately zips up his jacket and doesn't want the cold wind to penetrate under his light jacket. He props the camera on selfie mode, trying to take pictures of both of you when the wind ends up making an appearance aka your hair flying to places which wasn't the aesthetic you were going for but we get the gist. you've taken a mental note to print them and frame them as memoirs of the cold weather.
“It’s cold, it’s so cold~~~” he was vlogging and twirling around at the same time, it was your tradition vlogging these little moments then compiling them to be posted to your private youtube channel where your family members and friends could enjoy your chaotic yet calm daily lives. (the camera shaked more than your booty// bye im sorry)
After an hour in the cold, you decided it was time to go home because baby cheetah (mark) was tired and sleepy and hungry. You chuckled looking at his tired expression but you were glad he asked you out. No matter how cold it was, you’re always warm with him <3

top 5 horror book recommendations? it's spooky season and i need to get my read on...
Hell yeah! Gonna break this down a little. First an obligatory rehash of books I always recommend for this, these are like all-time faves for me
Wounds/North American Lake Monsters by Nathan Ballingrud - can't choose between these two, so they're tied for my favorite single author short story collection. Nathan Ballingrud is one of my favorite writers of all time
Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado - a very very close second for my favorite single-author short story collection. Machado is a beautiful writer and finding an author writing such powerful horror from a queer woman's perspective was world changing for me.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson - COME ON!!!! You might have already read this but consider reading it again! Absolute classic.
The Cipher by Kathe Koja - dark, fucked up meditation on art and addiction and toxic relationships. I think about this book all the time. A guy finds a weird hole in his apartment basement and then everything goes wrong (first slowly and then very very quickly)
Red X by David Demchuk - talked about this a lot before too but I really do love it. Fictional story inspired by real life serial killings that took place in Toronto's gay village over decades. The author inserts essays throughout the book that makes it part memoir as well. A supernatural story about real queer trauma.
--
Okay with that out of the way, here's some recommendations for stuff I think would be fun for Halloween specifically
Echoes edited by Ellen Datlow - OKAY CHEATING I ALSO RECOMMEND THIS ALL THE TIME BUT IT'S A PERFECT OCTOBER BOOK!!! Fuck-off huge ghost story anthology. Huge range of tones, pretty diverse group of contributing authors, it's my all-time favorite anthology.
Slewfoot by BROM - this one's got major autumn vibes. It's a story of a woman in Puritan New England who's accused of witchcraft. It's also a story about the devil. Kind of. The print version has really amazing paintings by the author, but I've heard this is also good in audio.
Come Closer by Sara Gran - this is a great little novella. Possession story that really packs a punch. I can't really say much more than that, but it's not a huge time investment and I think it's really worthwhile.
Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan LeFanu - if you can, get the version edited by Carmen Maria Machado (she adds in some great footnotes and it has some neat art too). This is a classic and also quite a brisk read. The original lesbian vampire story.
Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia - here's a new release for you! I always watch a ton of horror movies in October, and if you're anything like me maybe you'll want to read a horror novel about horror movies. This story follows a female film editor in 90s Mexico and her washed up actor friend as they help a retired filmmaker complete his famously unfinished last film, which he had been making with a former Nazi occultist before strange misfortunes and the occultist's mysterious disappearance forced production to shut down.
Okay that was double the amount of recommendations requested so I'm stopping here. Haha don't look in the tags don't worry about it there's nothing there you're crazy

"Hey dealer lady, don't forget our bet." XChara confidently smirked as he held his cards tightly. "If I win this round, you're going to tell me everything." "Just call me Lilith, lucky boy. I did bet a lot on you after all." The dealer just smiled - a smile so vicious and cunning like a veteran gambler. "Well, if you're so confident…why don't you show me your cards?"
[ Underverse Discord Art Contest Submission]
I figured that no one really gave this a thought before, so I drew XChara and XFrisk gambling at an extravagant casino! Titled "Before Showdown", this artwork depicted the moment XChara go all in for a game of poker, ready to earn the chance of a lifetime while his brother and Core Frisk anticipated in excitement!

About my OC (for those who wanted to know): Impulsive and reckless, Lilith is the last fallen human from an unnamed & unfinished AU where the Underground is a massive casino. After being abandoned by its creator, she was rescued and brought to the Omega Timeline by Dream, and built this casino as a memoir to her AU. As the sole owner of the Casino Royale, she often blend in and join the fun as a ordinary dealer. Though she doesn't hold exceptional magic or extraordinary strength, her soul - the Soul of Fortune - gave her the ability to see people's luck as well as their chance of success, a befitting power manifested for a natural-born gambler.

Did desmoulins had any kind of connection with robespierre after he was arrested and during his imprisonment? And danton also did robespierre had any contact with any of them during that time?
Bonus question:
Was desmoulins aware of what robespierre decided on his faith with his partner danton?
For Desmoulins and Robespierre meeting after the arrest of the former there exists one anecdote, and it first appeared in the memoirs of Charlotte Robespierre (1834). I would however declare myself sceptical regarding the authenticity of the story, mainly because it contradicts the confirmed actions of both Desmoulins and especially Robespierre around the same period. I’ve already talked about this at length here, so you can check that out if you want more details.
We have no evidence for Robespierre meeting Danton after the latter’s imprisonment. There does however exist a bunch of anecdotes regarding the two meeting in the weeks right before the arrest, I’ve already compiled all I could lay my hands on here. How many of them actually happened I will leave unsaid…
As for the question if Desmoulins was aware of the role Robespierre played in deciding his fate, that is pretty much confirmed by what he wrote to his wife on April 1, one day after the arrest:
If it was Pitt or Couburg who treated me so harchly, but my colleagues! But Robespierre, who has signed the order for my imprisonment!
I assume it’s most likely Camille was shown the arrest warrant by the guards who came to escort him to the Luxembourg prison and spotted Robespierre’s signature on it.
It would however appear like Camille was unaware of the extent Robespierre was actually involved in the affair. It’s unlikely he knew that Robespierre was the one who had prepared notes for Saint-Just to use for his indictment of the dantonists (I’m not actually sure if anyone outside the Committee of Public Safety knew of the existence of these notes until their publication in 1841). In fact, two pieces actually seem to suggest Camille undermined Robespierre’s involvement. The first is in a post scriptum note added to the first letter he wrote to his wife after his arrest, where he reported the following:
I’m writing to Robespierre, he will respond to you without a doubt.
The second clue is in Camille’s defence, written around the same time in his prison cell, where he attacks several members of the Committee of Public Safety and Committee of General Security but spares Robespierre from any, at one point even accusing David of being a false friend of the latter. Both these texts suggest Camille was still counting on Robespierre and perhaps hoping he could get him out the situation.
Lucile Desmoulins (who we might assume held the same view as her husband on the issue) too seems to have pictured Robespierre as having been forced into condemning Camille by his coworkers (Saint-Just in particular), rather than as the mastermind behind the operation. This is proven through an unfinished letter she wrote Robespierre somewhere between Camille’s arrest on March 31 and her own on April 4:
…As far from the insensibility of your Saint-Just as from his base jealousies, [Camille] recoiled in front if the idea of accusing a college comrade, a companion in arms. […] Robespierre, can you really complete the fatal projects which the vile souls that surround you no doubt have inspired you to? […] Had I been Saint-Just’s wife I would tell him this: the sake of Camille is yours, it’s the sake of all the friends of Robespierre! […] [Camille] was without a doubt slandered near you, Robespierre, for you cannot believe him guilty.

I've seen things about Anthony perkins being queer? Is that true or just rumors?
True - Mr Winecoff's shitty biography complicates the details on his conversion therapy and the circumstances of his marriage, and, considering those circumstances, its a controversial topic to split hairs on his exact sexuality. Pretty much all those who were close to Tony including his friends, co-stars, exes, and even his own kids have acknowledged that Tony was gay.
You will get into arguments with people if you refer to him as bisexual, and personally I don't like to refer to him as such, but ultimately we'll never know - a) because he's dead and we can't ask, and b) his unfinished memoirs either aren't publicly available or were auctioned/destroyed after the estate sale, so any information he would have offered up isn't accessible now. Plus, considering how private he was about all this, I don't really know if it's up to us to speculate. You'll only ever see me refer to him as a gay man.
Honestly, the only good source I can recommend is Ronald Bergan's book, but there are one or two decent documentaries out there that include some tangential information about him while talking about other things like queer horror.

“Napoleon was not just a part of history, he was also a historian. . . He was never just a general, a first consul, an emperor, but continuously a writer. . . He was certainly the greatest writer of the age in terms of sheer quantity: his works run to around fifty volumes. Many have written as much, but few can lay claim to such a diverse oeuvre, comprising not just histories, letters, memoirs, articles, proclamations, orders, and bulletins, but also short stories, a novel (unfinished), Socratic dialogues, and a Rousseauist discours. How, one may wonder, did he manage to fit it all in?”

DID THE ROSEMARY DIE?
It's 30 years from now
A distant breeze invades the tranquility
Just as she sits down at the chair
It's the remembrance of
Unfulfilled vows
.
Old and grey with a cup of tea
Maybe stories of the past scream to be free-
When the little kids giggle and run
She goes back to her childhood hometown
Reminisces the sweet tricks she played
But flinches at the thought
Of those childhood bruises,
Bruises that made her want to escape
Away from the world she was trapped
When the child in her wanted to breathe
The monsters of responsibilities she was asked to feed
.
Just as she takes another sip
She notices the two lovers by the lake
They are the brewing flowers,
A reminder of her demised youth
Aide-memoir of her unfinished tale;
She takes a route back to her youthful days
All pretty and shine in those eyes
When all the happiness meant a touch of being from her loverman,
Wandering butterfly phase when
All looked colourful and bright
Even she trusted in a delusional story
Of the eternal and the divine
.
Now as the grandfather clock ticks by
She notices the sun sinking with a sigh,
The days of brightness have come to an end
With the melancholic red now it's time
For a goodbye;
It's the onset of a night sky
And all that awaits is the quiet serenity
To sleep through for another lifetime
