Sandygast are NO JOKE. Over 10,000 people EVERY YEAR are subject to a Sandygast possession!

Do NOT pick up shovels unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE of where they came from. Better to have the beach littered with plastic shovels than to have people being compelled to evolve the little buggers into much more dangerous Palossand.

You wouldn’t want to get your soul drained out of you. So don’t risk it!

If you see somebody piling sand for hours and hours without end PLEASE contact local police, or anybody equipped to deal with Sandygast possessions such as gym leaders and the likes.

DO NOT attempt to snap the person out of it yourself. They could become HOSTILE or try to get you to touch the shovel as well.

It CAN happen to you or your loved ones.

Stay safe out there! And remember to have fun as well!

Giant human sized ghostly fire ants have bee seen in Landreth Park. These ants are dangerous and view humans as a food source. Please stay away from Landreth Park until these ants are removed.

Technus and the Red Huntress fought yesterday in Elmerton. Because of this fight, the entire south side of Elmerton lost power. Power was lost at 10:24 AM and was regained at 3:07 PM.

The Fentons will likely be driving today.

Dan and Phil upload a new video to dapg. It starts in the kitchen, they make drinks (actually alcoholic this time) and then they start making pizza from scratch. Dan makes most of the pizza dough while Phil is showing us all of the toppings. They even make their own tomato sauce. When it’s done, Phil dips his finger in the pan, licks the sauce off and starts describing the taste. Dan is filming him from up close and says off camera: I want to try it too. He turns the camera so both of them are in the frame. He leans in a kisses Phil on the lips. The video ends. We never find out how the pizza turned out.

The worst thing about this, is that I usually have way weirder dreams and this was one of the sane ones.

On xenia

In this world, there is a concept so deeply ingrained in all of us, it is almost universal. In terms of culture, most of the world shares it. Yet it has a variety of names, and many people do not know the rules they nonetheless follow unconsciously.

I speak, of course, of the assistance and hospitality provided to Trainers on their journeys.

Around the world, youths will go on journeys. To become Trainers, to become Pokemon Masters, or simply to expand their horizons. These journeys help these youths become well-rounded adults, who understand more of the world. However, such journeys cannot be undertaken alone- Not only with the Pokemon at your side, but Pokemarts, Pokemon Centers, and the League will help anyone on their way... But it is not just that.

While Trainers can generally get free lodgings and some meals at Pokemon Centers... But cities are large, and not every Trainer may be able to find it. At night, Trainers can simply pick a house to enter and will generally be given lodgings and food for the night. Similarly, even if there is not food, or if it is not night, Trainers will often receive gifts from those they meet in towns, in houses, and along the roads.

This is known by many names in many cultures. In Unova, and Galar, it is known as 'xenia'. In the Kanjoh area, it is called 'omotenashi'. Though the name changes, and the exact rules vary by area, it is known as the 'rules of hospitality', or 'sacred hospitality'.

If a Trainer needs lodgings, it is the host's responsibility to those who travel to help them. However, the host does not need to extend beyond their means- If they have nothing they can give that would not harm themselves to lose, there is no obligation to. The hosts must ensure their own health and safety first, and then attend to the guests' needs.

Furthermore, the guests also have an obligation. Be polite, be courteous. In the past, the travelers had the obligation to tell the hosts news of the surrounding areas. However, now that TV and the internet exist, this has been replaced with simply stories- We ask the Trainers to tell us of their journeys. And that way, the joy they experience upon their journey can be shared with others.

In every culture in our world, with very few exceptions, community is the most important thing. There are some who choose to become ascetics, but for the most part, Trainers and journeys would be impossible alone- It is our community, the shared joys and sorrows and shared resources of people that allow our journeys to happen. This, more than any technology, is the shining achievement of humanity- That we help and care for each other.

Kindness and community allow the journey to exist. And anywhere you go, you will find friends.
