So I finally got around to doing the Fontaine Archon quests. My friends looked at me weirdly when I literally (excitedly) shrieked when Legacy showed up.

Anyway, I wanna affectionately bite him. But my affectionate bites are very.. rough? I put a lot of force into them and thus hurt people. So I don't affectionately bite anymore.

But I wanna. Which made me wonder how affection-biting different aspects of Legacy would feel. Like, yeah the armor will be hard, but there's (probably??) areas not covered in armor. Also wondering if neck/shoulder floof feels different from head floof.

ALSO, wondering if the cape is physical. Because it looks like space. And I love space. hhhhhhhhhhh <3

alright so *claps hands* Foul Legacy is mostly covered in armor, buuuuut the area around his neck near his fluff is softer- it feels like the underside of a snake, if you've ever felt one! that's why under his chin is one of the best places to scritch, apart from behind his horns. his neck is the main area that feels different, since almost everywhere else is covered in armor; when he purrs, you can feel the vibrations in his throat more than his chest, and if you want to monch him and leave teeth marks, his neck is your best bet (it also makes him shriek and let out deep, rumbling laughs because he's also quite ticklish around there). BUT if you want to give him very hard chomps, that's actually completely alright, as long as you do it on his armor instead! you'll need to be careful and make sure you don't damage your own teeth, but other than that you can bite to your heart's delight, and Legacy will give you a few much gentler nibbles of his own

his fluff does feel different from his hair, the fluff feels considerably softer and lighter, almost like a poofy lilac cloud. it becomes even softer and fluffier when he's particularly pleased or trying to impress you, ruffling up his fur and purring happily when you comb it back down with your fingers- but it's at its absolute fluffiest when he gets startled by something, the fur poofing up into a purple cotton ball, and his hair bristles a bit when he's frightened, too. also, the upper part of his cape is physical! it's smooth and cool and feels like fine silk, even when it shifts into a pair of wings. the tips are intangible, dissolving into nothingness and starlight, but occasionally you can feel light pecks on your skin like raindrops, almost as if the stars themselves are landing and shattering on your hands. you can pet his cape-like wings too, as long as you're gentle, and soon you'll have a drowsy, rumbly Abyss monster curled up in your lap <3

It wasn’t often that the flower vendor passed by Garreg Mach these days, her good being greatly varied — from lush greens for a garden and potted plants to flower bouquets. As Dimitri took a stroll down the market, he was painfully aware of all the eyes on him… All this time, up until Rodrigue’s death, he had been looking away from them all, when they turned to him for help. Looking around the market, his attention first drifted to the armory. He went to check whether there was anything new there, when a thought passed by his mind.

He probably should have given a gift to the person who cared for him deeply, but got pushed away. Cyrus Lenz, the person who nursed him back to health when Dimitri lost his eye — he made it very hard to tell if he cared or not. Ever since Dimitri reunited with his used-to-be classmates and the Professor, Cyrus had been distant, spending most of his free time training and sparring with other sword fighters. However, Dimitri had seen him fight in the battle at Gronder Field, which made it clear as day that Cyrus still cared, deeply. Putting one’s life on the line was a Faerghan way to say that, after all…

Heaving a sigh, Dimitri perused the armory. The vendor started to fuss as soon as he recognized him.

“We have a new collection of swords and daggers available, Your Highness,” the vendor smiled. “They’re all a valuable find. Surely you would be interested.”

“Are they, now…”

Dimitri rubbed his chin in thought, as his mind wandered… Should he give one of such daggers to Cyrus? At first, this seemed like a great idea, but then he remembered the amount of times everyone made fun of him for giving a dagger as a gift to someone else he cared about… His mind wandered to that person, rage flashing in his eye for a brief moment.

Squeezing his eye shut, Dimitri turned away from the store he was browsing… Only to be met with a pleasant floral aroma. He opened his eye, and saw an abundance of colors. He found himself wandering towards the store. He touched one of the flowers as gently as he could — a rose. Its petals were soft, smooth… It soothed Dimitri. For some reason, it reminded him of Cyrus. The rage on his face was replaced with a soft smile.

“It’s not often I see a warrior such as yourself enjoy flowers,” the flower vendor grinned; she didn’t seem to recognize Dimitri as the Prince yet. Perhaps she was new around here…

“Do I really have an exterior of someone who would not appreciate their beauty?” Dimitri smiled; the lack of formality was also comforting. He picked up the rose flower by its stem, only to feel the sting of a thorn… He pulled his hand away and noticed his thumb bleeding.

“That’s roses for you,” the vendor looked at the rose flowers standing neatly in a vase full of water. “They’re beautiful, but they also sting… And they wilt so quickly.”

Those words etched themselves in Dimitri’s mind. He stood there, his eye jumping between the blossom and the cut in his already scarred hand.

“What is one more wound for me? As you said, I am a man of war. I can take the thorns.” He took the rose again, this time avoiding the thorns, and looked at it up close. With a deep sigh, he touched the soft petals again, an almost pained smile on his face.

“Are you thinking about the rose right now, Dimitri?” The vendor gave him a smirk as the question startled the prince enough to make him look up from the flower. “Or about someone you know?”

Dimitri couldn’t answer, even though his heart desperately wanted to. He stood there, still staring at the rose with a furrowed brow, but it wasn’t rage that was clouding his mind this time.

“If it really reminds you of them, you should give this flower to them. It’s on the house.”

“… No, I can afford to-”

As Dimitri looked up, he found himself standing in a lonely corner of the marketplace, in front of a bush of roses that just happened to bloom there. It wasn’t the first time something of the sort happened to him, causing him to wander off somewhere or speak to people who weren’t truly there, but usually it wasn’t something this… pleasant, so to speak.

After rotating the rose in his hand for a good minute, Dimitri turned around to leave the marketplace with it… Only to see Cyrus before him.

“Your Highness…” Cyrus looked worn out, his voice monotone and quiet, but concern still showed through his seemingly cold expression. Through the thorns…

Dimitri couldn’t bring himself to say anything, and instead just handed Cyrus the rose blossom, his heart aching as he hoped the other man would accept it. Taking the rose, Cyrus, for some reason, didn’t even look shocked… But he did smile.

“I only wish for you to know that I… Appreciate your efforts in battle,” Dimitri blurted after a minute of silence.

“You don’t exactly give people roses for that,” Cyrus sighed, deep sadness returning to his eyes after the brief respite of a smile. “However, I will continue giving my best efforts. Thank you, Your Highness.”

Saying that, Cyrus turned and left the marketplace promptly, leaving Dimitri alone, his palms stinging with pain as he realized that the cuts were plenty, instead of just one.

Perhaps a weapon truly would make a better gift in this case.

Summer in the city could be dreadful. The sun was relentless, the humidity was stifling and the trash laden streets of Hell's Kitchen held the heat so it was near impossible to even get to the end of the block without breaking a sweat.

Your neck was constantly damp with sweat, and the AC unit in yours and Tommy's apartment had bit the dust a month ago. When you weren't at work, you were trying to beat the heat with an old fan which you thought was soon going to follow the AC.

It was just past noon and you had barely moved all day, hoping your limited movement would stop you sweating so badly. It wasn't working, and the cracked leather coach you was starting to get uncomfortably warm beneath your skin. Your eyes are closed again the fatigue that the summer brings, but you still hear the front door open.

"Honey, I'm home," Tommy says, just as he drops a handful of popsicles onto your chest as he passes by on his way to the kitchen.

You squeal at the cold but quickly the surprise turns into gratitude. You pick one popsicle up, cherry flavour, and unwrap it. The rest you hug to your chest, trying to absorb the chill before putting them away in the freezer.

"I hate this weather, New York is too hot."

"And in winter it's too cold, yeah?" Tommy teases, sitting down beside you on the old couch, with a beer in hand. His fingers are already wet with condensation.

"Well, yeah," you admit. You suck on the popsicle harder, the coldness starting to numb your lips.

Tommy pushes the sunglasses he was wearing up onto his head. They are almost engulfed by his hair. They are also stolen.

Neither of you were paid poorly, but you definitely had no spare income to afford designer sunglasses. Tommy stayed out of trouble, he really did, so who were you to complain about his occasionally sticky fingers. Besides, he'd only picked them up at the studio, not a store, so was it even really stealing?

You swing your legs up, draping them over Tommy's lap. In spite of the heat you shiver when he plants his condensation-wet hand on your thigh, just skimming the bottom of your denim shorts.

"Your hand's all wet," you half-heartedly complain.

Tommy hums, looks over at you. You notice, now, that his wild hair is even more frizzy in the heat and there are locks of it slicked to his skin with sweat. His hand creeps further up your thigh.

"Kinda feels good though," you murmur, eyes following Tommy's long fingers. It's then, with Tommy's icy fingers on your flushed-hot skin, that the perfect solution comes to you, "You know what we should do?"

He hums again, noncommittedly; places his half drunk beer down on the coffee table, next to your sunglasses. Your stolen sunglasses. The ones he stole for you.

Tommy shifts, sticking uncomfortable where your bare skin met. But a little heat couldn't stop you. You wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling him down until his lips met yours; the popsicles you'd been holding in your lap pressed between your flushed chests.

Your hand worked up to his hair, fingers combing through the mess of frizz and curls.

With a clatter, his sunglasses fall to the floor.
