Not good at saying goodbyes.
part 4/4 - previous.
Lena Oberdorf x reader.
Tumblr media
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
The match day came around. You were glad to be in the starting line-up. Last few days had been a little less insufferable as you tried going back to your routine.
You had been playing great. But not enough to make sure the team scored. As everyone started feeling a little desperate over time running out, you all gathered in the goal area, after managing a corner kick. As the referee gave the go ahead, you all jumped, trying to score a header.
You didn't know if you had miscalculated your actions or if someone else was at fault for it, but your head had hardly collided with another player's.
You instantly fell to the ground. You tried to say something, but your vision had quickly blurred turning black, and there was an awful ringing in your ears.
You had fallen unconscious.
"Y/N! Can you hear me?" Georgia tried to keep as calm as possible, like a captain should.
"Get out of my fucking way! Y/N? Are you okay? Y/N!" no one had ever seen Lena like this. Not in Wolfsburg, not at the national team.
She pushed everyone in her way to kneel right next to you.
"Y/N! Call the medics, the damn medics! Why are they not here yet?"
"Obi calm down! They're here." Lea said while holding her best friend back as you were being put on the stretcher.
"Hey, I'm here! I'm here, I love you...okay?"
she wiggled out of Lea's grip, as she walked, holding your hand as they carried you out of the field.
"Lena!" - they pulled her in a hug, as a small tear ran down her cheek. "You need to concentrate, we only have 25 minutes left. I need you here."
No words came out of her. All she could do was nod.
Twenty-five minutes had never seemed so long. She rant to the locker room to get showered and changed, so she could follow you, wherever you were.
"Do you know where they've taken her?" she asked Giulia. She would definitely know.
"Yes. Everyone is going back to the hotel. We can uber there."
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
"I'm so sorry. I was so stupid. When I saw you laying unconscious, I was so desperate, I couldn't lose you again." she said sitting on a chair next to you. You were laying down, eyes closed. "I has devastated when you left. I celebrated your birthday every year, made my mom make a cake and all. Until about 14, then it started feeling terrible. So I stopped. I insisted on setting up your stocking for christmas and-"
"You still haven't watched the Hannah Montana movie. I know." you whispered out as best as you could.
"Your awake!"
"Have been since before you got here."
"You were pretending?"
"No, I was napping, they gave me some meds for the headache. They're only waiting for the scan and test results to come back, so they can discharge me. Just a mild concussion."
"Did you just say 'just'? You blacked out! It could have been so much worse!"
"But it wasn't! Do I have a bruise?"
"No. I mean yes. Don't panic."
"Lena-"
"It's Obi."
"Obi, I'm sorry about everything. I was such a foolish child. I've regretted that every single day since then. You won't lose me this time."
"I know. And I'm sorry for the way I have been acting. I've missed you so much. You have no idea. So much has happened."
"I tried my best to keep up with everything. So, national team's best young player huh?"
"And you! Playing for the best team in the world! Also you clearly play like a spaniard."
"I can't tell if that's a good thing or not."
"It's both. At least you remember the same plays we used to do."
"Excuse me?" the doctor said as he walked in. "Your results are back. You're good. I'll discharge you, but you'll have to take it easy. Not playing or training for two days, just for caution. Also don't recommend you drive. I'll prescribe you medication for the headache you'll definitely have and you have to come in again tomorrow afternoon, for a check. So I can clear you, definitively."
"Okay then, thank you."
"No problem, see you tomorrow."
You both left the room to meet with Giulia in the waiting area.
"Ah good to see you two getting along."
"Thank you for coming too."
"No problem, do you remember anything?"
"Not really anything after hitting my head, until I woke up here."
"You should have seen Lena! 'Please don't leave, I love you!'. No one believed their eyes."
"Awn said you loved me?"
"No I didn't, Giulia shut it!"
"She did! She held your hand all the way out of the field. Even cried a little."
"That's cute. Thank you for being there." you said looking deep into her eyes. As she gave you a reassuring nod.
"Who won the game after all?"
"Not us. But it's fine, we're still winning the championship."
"I can't believe I won't be able to fly back with the team."
"I'll stay over too. Tomorrow is day off anyways." said Obi.
"Well were arrived at the hotel." said Giulia grabbing our attention.
Your bestfriend made sure to walk you to your room. But before she could walk away, you stopped her.
"Do you want to have a sleepover?"
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
Thank you for this great request! Hope you enjoyed. Sorry for taking so long on the last part 🩷

frank discussion of gynecological issues and frustrations with OBGYNs (especially re: chronic illness) under the cut, but I guess also potentially useful information for people who want to hear about it
so... some of you might remember when I was going to OGBYNs a little while ago. I have endometriosis and PMDD diagnoses, so going to OBGYNs isn't exactly unusual for me, but I ended up going to see more than I usually do.
this was largely because the hormonal therapy that I was taking for those disorders was starting to fail and I was bleeding a lot. like... for weeks at a time over a period of months. I had to deal with some... frustrating OBGYN advice in this time (such as the rage-inducing "well, women have to bleed") but I also discovered that like... I mean, I think I always knew that I had more vaginal pain than other people I know, but a lot of things hurt me so I just kind of... ignored it?
but they tried to put me on the nuva ring for a little while during this period and my body just... straight-up rejected it. it hurt like a bitch to put in, it kept coming out, I could feel it in there and it hurt, etc.
I ended up comparing notes with some other people I know and realized that my problems with insertion were probably more severe than I'd thought. like, it is not unusual for me to cry during pap smears and have cramping for days afterward. I cannot use tampons without massive pain. your body is not really supposed to physically expel something like a nuva ring several times a day. tmi I guess but I have not found penetration of any kind pleasant.
so I talked to... I want to say four or five different OBGYNs in this period, and none of them gave me a real reason for this. the prevailing attitude was mostly "oh yeah, that happens sometimes. lmao."
the best I could get was a diagnosis of "vaginismus" on my chart, and when I pressed for more information, they basically told me it was a psychological thing where your body is afraid of penetration so it clenches up and won't unclench. they literally grilled me on my history of sexual abuse to see if they could find the source of my dick phobia.
now... not to get too into it, but I do have a history of CSA -- but my pain problems predate it. I got my period relatively early and I've never been able to use tampons or anything like them. every time I've tried has ended in literal tears. again, cramping pain for days, even after the period itself has stopped.
so I get the dick phobia diagnosis from two different doctors, but one of them says she can do a transvaginal ultrasound if I'm really worried. we do this and it is uh. excruciating, honestly. thank god it was in California and they let me get high as a kite.
in the end, they can't find anything "physically" wrong with why I'm in pain and they send me on my way, dick phobia dx in hand.
today. today. YEARS later. I am googling tips on how to try a menstrual cup if you have vaginismus (prep for the trip abroad; I don't like Japanese pads) and I see someone saying "oh, I'm glad that treatment worked for you, my problems are because of ehlers-danlos syndrome."
you know, one of the chronic illnesses I have and one that I divulged to every OBGYN I saw.
what.
paging Dr. Google!!!
I come to find out that folks that have EDS, because of their connective tissue issues and extremely brittle skin, sometimes deal with extreme gynecological pain. it's partially pelvic floor issues, partially the fact that the skin in your vagina is breaking.
so all those times that I said "it feels like it's cutting me" or "it feels like knives" were probably because it was fucking cutting me. all those times I said I felt scraped raw for days was probably because abrasions take a long time to heal when you have EDS.
I cannot believe. I cannot believe. that I went into so many different OBGYNs who told me that my pain issues were because I had a psychological fear of dicks and when I told them I was a lesbian were like "oh well then problem solved" when actually my body was physically tearing. I had even seen blood sometimes and it had always been dismissed as spotting.
the anger I feel rn is indescribable, tbh. I never bought that my problems were all in my head (probably because doctors used that line on me so often when I was a kid and getting other chronic illnesses diagnosed) but the fact that gynecological health science is still so fucking awful that we shrug off pain that is the symptom of dangerous chronic illnesses as "well that happens sometimes" or "have you considered that maybe you're afraid of sex?"
I JUST
this reminds me of when I had to find out from a fucking tumblr post that vaginal secretions are made from blood rather than glands, so if you have bad blood pressure/flow it'll often cause itchiness/dryness/pain. bad blood flow like... idk... maybe POTS.
so again, it was actually one of my known chronic illnesses causing gynecological issues, not any of the other bullshit reasons doctors were giving me, like age or stress.
I hate that I'm fucking 33 years old and I still have to learn stuff like this from google searches. I still don't know how my shitty body works, and it's largely because of stuff like this. what the fuck. I'm so mad. why do doctors still treat vaginas like a fucking scary mystery?
I'm well aware that Dr. Google doesn't always know what the fuck it's talking about, but apparently neither do my doctors! which is why, yet again, I'm up all night reading medical journals in the vain attempt to figure out how to actually live my life!
ugh!!!

It was quite the week for us comic Tony fans!
How would you rank the Tony issues from the haul? We had Iron Man #8, Avengers #3, I Am Iron Man #5, Avengers Beyond #5, Ults reboot (tho Tony didn’t seem to show there?), dunno if I missed any haha
Oh, man, it absolutely was a great comics week!
I'm going to list what I liked less first because I have a lot of feelings about Iron Man #8.
Ultimate Invasion #2
Technically Tony was in this, at the bottom of the first page of Howard's introduction, the one that was a straight-up redraw of Tony's introduction in Ultimates #2. Here he is:
Tumblr media
I suppose that we don't actually know for a fact that this is Tony; Howard refers to him as his son but he isn't named. Like, for all we know, this is Greg with a dye job, or maybe Arno exists here. But I have to say that I'm pretty meh about the idea of an Ults reboot that doesn't include Steve or Tony (and, even more upsettingly, seems to have Howard instead of Tony); I suspect (at least, I hope) there will be some personnel reshuffling going on, but the amount that I have ever cared about The Maker is minuscule at best. Hickman just has his things he likes to write about and too bad if you wanted to hear about anyone else, I guess. (His original Ults run was not my favorite.)
Back when Time Runs Out was coming out, the solicits announced that the cover for Avengers #41 was going to reuse the cover of Ultimates #1, so everyone was excited that there was going to be an Ults crossover. At the time, I hadn't read any Ults at all, so I decided I was going to read Ults to prepare for this issue. The thing was, I didn't quite finish reading Ults, and I hadn't gotten to Hickman's run. "That won't be a problem!" I thought, naively. "I have in fact read Ultimates #1 and surely these characters are what this issue is about, since they are on the cover."
Then Avengers #41 turned out to be entirely about The Maker and Miles Morales and I was extremely confused. This was not what I thought I was getting. Why is it about these people? Where are the Ultimates? Why is a psycho version of Reed here?
Reading Ultimate Invasion is making me feel like I am having the exact same experience again, eight years later. I don't like it any better a second time.
I Am Iron Man #5
This is the last issue of this miniseries, and I really wanted to like it. For one thing, some of the variant covers have been absolutely gorgeous:
Tumblr media
The creative team are clearly big fans of Tony and love him so much as a character and love his history and you can see that basically on every page of this entire miniseries and I'm glad Marvel gave us something that was so positive… but I haven't really been able to make any sense of any of it. They have some really interesting high-concept ideas -- like, #5 here was a look at the ethics of cloning -- but they seem to have a massive, massive disconnect at some point in the process between Having The Idea and Making A Comic About The Idea and I literally do not understand most of what has happened in this entire miniseries. I feel like if I asked them to summarize their comic I would probably understand the explanation, but reading the comic does not lead to understanding it, for me.
I was trying to explain this, and the best comparison I can come up with is all those issues of Doctor Strange that are mostly from the 70s where the creative team was clearly on All The Hallucinogens and you go to read a comic and it's absolutely gorgeous artwork but very little of the story makes any sense whatsoever and it's just like "okay, dude, you keep having fun doing your thing" and then you check back in a couple issues and Strange has defeated, like, the manifestation of his own ego and also possibly the concept of reality?
It's like that, but with Iron Man.
Tumblr media
(Incidentally, the recent Doctor Strange miniseries Fall Sunrise was like that, if you feel like Doctor Strange comics have been making too much narrative sense lately.)
Avengers Beyond #5
Last issue of this Landy/Land series. Don't mind me; I really like crediting them. I really loved Derek Landy's work on the Cap-IM miniseries (I mean, who didn't?) and I think in both this miniseries and the preceding All-Out Avengers he demonstrated a really solid grasp of Avengers characterization, which is no mean feat in a series whose gimmick is that every issue starts in medias res. I think he's especially good at dialogue, and he really makes the characters feel like themselves without all that much space to work with, and a lot of the Avengers' solutions (like the Celestial blood thing here) seem like things they would come up with.
The downside, and this is not his fault, is that I really aggressively Do Not Care about the Beyonder. So I liked this despite that, which is a testament to how much I like his writing, I guess.
Tumblr media
The other downside is every single page in which Greg Land has to draw a human face. I just. Sometimes he gets about 80% of the way but suddenly NOPE. The good news is that this series plays to his strengths in that there are a lot of characters with helmets and non-human faces and also there is a lot of punching which mostly doesn't show people's faces close-up. The bad news is that many of the action scenes still look like they're traced from porn, although at least not so much in this issue.
So I feel like if you can somehow ignore all of the art, like, all of it ever, you might like this.
Avengers #2
I really like Jed MacKay's writing, which is why this is getting ranked so highly for me even though really not all that much happened this issue. Plus, the art is good, and I felt that I could not in good conscience rank Greg Land's art above this.
Tumblr media
Right now I don't think really enough has happened for me to be able to say whether this is a good run -- #1 was basically Assembling, and #2 here is Getting The Villains Together -- but I have a lot of faith in MacKay based on his other comics (I am excited to read his Black Cat run that I just got in book form) that this is probably going to be good. The dialogue seemed IC for everyone; I like how Tony is wearing his stealth armor here due to IM events. The villains remind me a lot of the villains in Death of Doctor Strange, which I liked a lot.
I do, however, empathize with the letter writer who says it doesn't feel like the Avengers without Steve. They could have two Caps. It would be okay.
Invincible Iron Man #8
Ohhh boy.
I have been looking forward to this issue since #7 came out, and I loved it (and the rest of the run so far) so much that I wrote 40,000 words of h/c set right after #7 because canon is whumping Tony so nicely that I thought he could maybe have some comfort. I don't remember the last time I liked a comic enough to write 40,000 words immediately after reading it. Maybe never. I wanted to get the fic posted before #8 came out and I did in fact manage this. Impressively, I don't think canon actually contradicts anything in my fic, provided you assume that there's at least a day before #8 starts. I also appear to have correctly identified several of the problems Tony is having in canon -- #8 establishes that Tony is not sleeping and not eating -- but it's just that Gerry Duggan has no interest in fixing these problems and I do.
I didn't think the whump could get any better than #7. The whump got even better.
Every interview I see with Gerry Duggan about IM, he seems to feel he has to apologize for all the pain he is putting Tony through. I don't know why he keeps apologizing. This is the good stuff.
So I had to do about a hundred pages of background reading to read this, because Hellfire Gala is something like 78 pages long and I had to read a FCBD issue too. It was totally worth it. I am very sorry to X-Men fans who are not Iron Man fans because I am sure they are cursing Gerry Duggan's name right now.
If you are going to read this Iron Man issue and want to have all the background reading, what you should actually read is the Avengers/X-Men FCBD issue from May, and then Hellfire Gala, and then Iron Man. There are several events that we get bits of from the X-side in Hellfire Gala and from Tony in IM, but the events themselves take place in the FCBD issue, which is definitely exactly where I'd put key events I wanted people to be able to find. Thanks, Marvel. And if you are a Steve fan, you are going to care, because one of them is an attempt on Steve's life. So if you don't read the FCBD issue first, halfway through Hellfire Gala you're going to be like "what do you mean, someone's trying to assassinate Captain America?" and, yeah, that's in the FCBD issue as well as a couple other attacks more relevant to the mutants.
I'm sure we were all expecting Krakoa to fall since the day it started -- look, we all know the mutants have a very, very bad record at creating mutant utopias -- but I have to say I wasn't expecting quite this much of a bloodbath and definitely not because Xavier decided to give into his captors' demands without checking if what they were actually asking him to do was happening like he thought it was. This seems to be a good argument for not negotiating with terrorists. I wasn't expecting basically the second Mutant Massacre, even masterminded by (an evil clone of) Mister Sinister. (I haven't read X-books in a long time but I have to admit that "Sinister is just not evil enough" was not a take I was expecting.)
Also I am STILL not over the fact that the evil mutant-hating organization is named Orchis, which means "testicle" in Greek. (I mean, yes, it also means "orchid." But if they wanted me to think of orchids they could have just named it Orchid in English and not Testicle.)
So, anyway, the result of the Hellfire Gala this year is that pretty much everyone who was at the Gala (as well as a bunch of other people) are extremely dead, except for Emma Frost and a small band of resisters (including, inexplicably, Wilson Fisk, and I'm sure we'll learn what his deal is eventually) who managed to teleport out to New York, which is where Tony gets involved.
(I am still not over the fact that Tony got an Avengers call for a DC terror attack, then got a call for Steve being attacked in Brooklyn and immediately zoomed to help Steve first. Priorities, he has them. Yes, I know, Steve was closer. Shhh.)
Anyway! You like Tony suffering? Then you will probably enjoy Tony fighting Sentinels, getting hit really, really hard, bleeding and getting concussed and begging for help and repeating that he's dying, as he wavers in and out of consciousness while lying on the street. If the issue had decided to make this the worst thing that happened to him, I would still have been perfectly satisfied because, look, I just wrote 40,000 words because I really liked how the last comic ended with Tony being upset that Rhodey had been arrested, punching his armor until there's blood dripping down his hands, kneeling on the floor. And now canon has made him suffer more!
But then! Then we get the very best terrible moment! Even better and/or worse than I could have hoped for!
Tony is at this point not entirely conscious, he thinks he's dying, and he's not very, uh, oriented as to reality, and that means that his poor suffering brain is making him think he's reexperiencing one of his past extremely traumatic events, and Emma, who is also now stuck fighting Sentinels, has decided to hop into his mind to help him out. So I was like, okay, maybe it's gonna be his origin story? That's probably pretty damaging. That's something anyone could come up with.
The thing is, Gerry Duggan has done the reading.
So the inside of Tony's mind is currently Iron Man #182. Yes. Tony is dying in the blizzard.
Tumblr media
At this point, I had to stop and say AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. A lot. I think everyone else did too.
Like, I enjoy recreationally making fictional characters suffer and I don't think it would ever have occurred to me to do this. I am plotting the rest of an extremely angsty canon-divergent fic series ending in the blizzard, solely so that Steve can carry Tony out of the cold, and it would never have occurred to me that when Tony thinks he's dying his mind would take him right back to the middle of the blizzard and LEAVE HIM THERE, freezing to death, drunk and alone, with nothing. I could never have thought of this. It's perfect.
Tumblr media
The comic doesn't actually tell you what it's referencing or that it is in fact referencing anything canonical, but if you are familiar with Iron Man #182's very distinctive cover art, this page is a very, very clear homage to it. (And I suppose there's a sense in which it's kind of a canon deep cut; the issue's a dollar-bin kind of issue and the arc itself has only been reprinted once, in pieces, and I think all of it is out of print now in paper. The people collecting and slabbing Doomquest et al aren't buying this one, as far as I know. We just love it.)
Tumblr media
I think an argument can be made that the current one is more pathetic (in the sense of "creating pathos") than the #182 version, because for one thing the cover isn't itself canonical; that angle and alley aren't in the issue. Also, in Tony's dream version, he's surrounded by bottles. And he's barefoot. He's actually made it worse for himself than it was when it really happened to him.
And in case you thought this issue was done stabbing you in the heart, this is what happens when Tony wakes all the way up:
Tumblr media
AAAAAAAAAA.
Anyway, then Tony surrenders -- because he has never met a self-sacrificing moment that he does not love; thank you, Gerry Duggan, for understanding this -- so that Emma can get away and he's now kneeling, unarmored, in the middle of the street, concussed and bleeding heavily, daring Feilong and his Sentinels to come on and kill him. Just your regular Iron Man cliffhanger.
I will take twelve more just like this one, please and thank you.
I'm still not over the blizzard.
I know it could all go wrong at any moment -- I have a lot of trust issues about Iron Man comics, clearly -- but we've had eight issues and as of right now I think this is definitely the best Iron Man ongoing run we've had in the past… fifteen years? Whenever Director of SHIELD ended.
(If any of you clicked on this and are not comics fans, you're probably wondering how fans of a character can dislike everything that has happened to them in the past fifteen years and still consider themselves fans of a character. This is just what comics fandom is like.)

I'm ngl, everytime I see like hate towards Taz over this it's like there's a new thing to be like upset about because the behaviour is just so bad that it really doesn't feel like good faith arguments.
I'll also be upfront, I'm very arab and am a quarter Palestinian so it's not like I don't have any say in this, even if thankfully my family aren't near the genocide that is happening they are still very affected by this.
Like people being against the 'neutrality' of the red Cross have to understand that this is the same neutrality that doctors and surgeons have to have when it comes to aiding people. It's the kind of neutrality that is not about avoiding doing anything which is the real problem but the neutrality of "do no harm" which is a needed ethical point that needs to be with anyone who has a person's life in their hands. If people are worried that sending money to the British Red Cross might mean that the money goes to British Tax then that's just not the case as they are a charity and that means all the money that goes into the charity must go to whatever aid the charity is about with none of it going to taxes.
I just feel like the people who (rightly) get pissed about any doctor that doesn't help a trans or queer person because of the doctor's "religious beliefs" are missing the main point of why this shit is horrendous, because it is one person who has someone's life in their hands choosing who lives or dies instead of just trying to do the job of preventing death.
And the British Red Cross only brings aid to civilians, people who are just living in these places, and Israeli civilians are still people with lives, whether they support their government or not or anything, they still have families and the death of those families can be kindling of the corrupt and is the suffering of the living, regardless of whether it is an Israeli family or a Palestinian family (it's even this point that is making me post this anonymously because I saw how people questioned Taz's heritage and I've had people dismiss my nationality because of how much I try to stay anonymous (my parents are queerphobic and I am currently engaged to my girlfriend of 4 years and of course I don't want my parents knowing that))
And I've brought up like people making this point that he wanted to distance himself from his arab half because he goes by Taz Skylar instead of Tarek Yassin and like ??? The man has been upfront about being dyslexic and tarek, and Yassin has multiple phonetic spellings that would mess with writing it??? Like legit, Taz Skylar is probably the easiest thing to write and read if you're dyslexic.
And then the way people acted over him, deleting tweets and shit like yes, he is an adult, but he's also an adult that has mental issues and had been upfront about that??? Like, I'm just glad that he eventually just stuck to the point and clarified some things as well in his Instagram post. (Like the fact that he brings up that he also wanted to help the refugees that come up to tenerife kinda shows that he had other things in mind and probably just didn't think that would translate to taking any position on the genocide and when people mistook that he had to clarify he just doesn't want innocent people hurt)
Ngl I might just send some anon messages once in a while just being like "AND ANOTHER THING" but atm it is also too early so for now imma leave these points and just try to get on with my day because OOF
Thank you for this! Because I've argued with peoplen who say "you can't be neutral in a genocide" with "yes, actually, you can because it doesn't mean you're INDIFFERENT. And in the case of thr RC, neutrality saves the lives of INNOCENT parties on both sides." But they just don't wanna hear it. I guess because it makes too much sense? Idk.
And the issue with his name is stupid as FUCK. I'm half Sicilian. In the 40s-60s, MANY singers and actors would change their ethnic looking/sounding Italian surnames to more "American" ones. People changing their names and/or shortening them is NOTHING new, and even white Americans have done the same thing in Hollywood. Let's be honest, he probably went with Taz Skylar because 1) Taz sounds like a possible nickname given to him when he was a kid and he just stuck with it because he liked it and 2) going into the acting business with an Arab name? Guess what roles he's gonna get stereotyped with. Especially if/when he becomes bigger over here in America. It has zero to do with "distancing himself." He's done nothing that other famous folk haven't been doing for DECADES.
You can send as many ANONS as you wish. Honestly, this is my first time ever getting Anon asks, and it's been fun 😄.

Sonic Cyber Revolution, Entry 37: Breaking The Fields
Tumblr media
'''Cause I can't look back, no more turning back! 'Til I find my way back home, and I know, I've gotta be so much more than this! But what can I be if not me?''
– So Much More… by Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
xXxXxXx
Silver and Makoto weren't completely sure how to approach the situation. They knew that them being stuck at Sky Canyon was most likely Dr. Eggman's doing. However, given how easily they had defeated the Boss of the Zone, it felt a bit out of place. The good Doctor wasn't usually this sloppy.
''Makoto, watch out!'' Silver suddenly shouted when their environment started glitching out and the platform below them disappeared. Fortunately for both of them, Silver used his psychokinesis to keep them afloat.
''That was close! Thanks, Silver!'' Makoto said, with Silver giving them a thumbs up before landing them safely on another platform. However, just as they landed, their environment started to glitch out once again. Feeling alarmed, both looked up at the flash of light before them, revealing itself to be a cyan diamond-shaped gem. Both of their jaws dropped as they realized what they were looking at, with Makoto breaking the silence. ''That's a Chaos Emerald! But, how?''
''I don't know,'' Silver replied, reaching for the cyan gem. He could feel it's energy crackling through his fingers. He glanced at Makoto with a confused look, fishing for an explanation. ''I mean, we did beat the Boss of this Zone, so maybe this is our prize?''
Before Makoto could answer, there was another flash of light, this one being green, with Shadow and Touka suddenly appearing before them, and Shadow still holding the green Chaos Emerald.
''Shadow!''
''Touka!''
The two siblings were surprised to see Silver and Makoto, but also pleased to see that the Chaos Emerald-enhanced Chaos Control worked properly. Nevertheless, there was a question on their mind.
''What are you doing here?'' Touka asked.
''We were a moment ago with Lily and Knuckles, who had asked us whether we had seen Rouge because she hadn't appeared for a while, and in the next moment, we found ourselves in Sky Canyon,'' Makoto explained. ''What about you?''
''We were helping out Tails and Warren, when we suddenly found ourselves in…'' Touka paused, only to resume. ''Okay, I don't know what the name of that place was, but it had a lot of snow. I'm just glad that we got somewhere with a moderate temperature.''
Shadow just rolled his eyes at her remark, with Makoto adding, ''Well, if you guys were in a snow filled-zone that is also from the Sonic Advance series, just like us, you were either in the Ice Mountain Zone from Sonic Advance, Ice Paradise from Sonic Advance 2 or Twinkle Snow from Sonic Advance 3.''
''We have more important things to talk about than names of Zones,'' Shadow suddenly interrupted them, pointing at Silver. ''I see that you also got a Chaos Emerald.''
''Yeah, we got it after beating… the Egg Saucer?'' Silver turned to Makoto, who nodded. He then turned back to Shadow. ''What about you?''
''We were confronted by Dr. Starline,'' Shadow explained, with Makoto and Silver being surprised to hear that name. ''He was piloting a mech, probably made by Dr. Eggman. We managed to defeat him, but it seems that my Chaos energy reacted with the AR Field and caused the Chaos Emeralds to appear.''
''Then we can use the Chaos Emeralds to escape this place,'' Silver said, elated to hear that there was a solution to their problem. Shadow then shook his head, his arms folded across his chest.
''I'm afraid that it is not that easy. The AR Field is quite unstable and one has to be very careful when using Chaos Control. I had tried to warp Touka and I out of it, but we landed here instead,'' he explained.
''Then, maybe we need all 7 of the Chaos Emeralds. Also, if you are trapped here and this is another of Dr. Eggman's schemes, this must mean that maybe the rest of the team is trapped as well,'' Makoto said. ''We cannot travel through Zones by any normal means, but we can use the Chaos Emeralds for that.''
''Well, you two can do that,'' Silver said, holding out the cyan Chaos Emerald to Shadow and Touka. ''I don't even know how to use Chaos Control.''
Shadow stared at the cyan Chaos Emerald that Silver was offering to him, then glanced back at the grey hedgehog, clearly assessing the situation and their options. If their assumptions were correct, their teammates were all separated and it would take some time to find them, even with the Chaos Emerald, as surely Dr. Eggman would try to intervene. Shadow then held up his hand, showing that he wouldn't take the Chaos Emerald, much to Silver's confusion.
''I will give you a quick crash course on using Chaos Control. You will be able to utilize it with the Chaos Emerald, even if you had never used it before,'' Shadow replied.
''B-But…'' Silver wanted to protest, feeling that this was something he wouldn't be capable of, but after seeing Shadow's grim gaze, he then nodded. ''What do I have to do?''
''You can use the Chaos Energy within the Chaos Emerald to sense the presence of other Chaos Emeralds, and you can let this sensation guide you,'' Shadow explained. ''All you need is to focus, and you will be able to find them.''
Silver nodded, holding the Chaos Emerald and focusing on the Chaos Energy within. At first, it was quite overwhelming, as he never felt something like this before, but as he got used to this new power, he could feel something tugging him to several sides, unsure which path to follow. He assumed that one energy signature, the strongest one, was the Chaos Emerald Shadow was holding. So he tried to focus on the other energy signatures, finding one that was much further from him. It was like a thread hanging in front of him, and all he needed to do was to reach for it.
''I think I got it,'' Silver said, opening his eyes. Shadow nodded.
''You and Makoto will go there then,'' he said. Silver smiled, with both him and Shadow holding up their hands, arms crossing.
''CHAOS…'' Silver started as the energy around them crackled.
''CONTROL!!!'' Shadow roared, with a blinding light engulfing the whole group.
xXx
Tails and Warren had to leap each towards a different side to avoid Silver Sonic's attack. It appeared that the robotic version of Sonic seemed to have some kind of regenerative ability, as no matter how powerful Tails' EMP field was, the robot would always stand up. They needed to find another way around it.
''Any ideas?'' Warren asked, him and Tails hiding behind a metallic pillar and flinching when Silver Sonic lost sight of them and smashed a different pillar.
''I'm not sure. I'm not as good at combat as someone like Sonic or Knuckles…'' Tails said, only to realize that admist all of the chaos he had forgotten that he was still wearing his backpack. He quickly took it off, starting to rummage around it.
''Watch it!'' Warren grabbed Tails, running off to the other side of the Zone as Silver Sonic smashed into the pillar they were hiding behind. Whatever was left of Chaos Surge had already faded, leaving them quite vulnerable. However, Warren was given a small toy-like laser gun by Tails, who then reached for another gadget in his backpack.
''Keep him busy, I have an idea!'' Tails said, starting to tinker with the electromagnetic discs. Warren used Tails laser gun to fire at Silver Sonic, surprisingly managing to get a few good hits, but the robot seemed to be unstoppable. When he got too close to the two, both managed to slip away, with Tails slapping the disc onto Silver Sonic, while Warren took the other and put it on a piece of debris, then pushed it off the edge of the Zone. The magnetic pull was so strong that Silver Sonic followed it, falling off the platform.
''All right!'' Tails cheered, him and Warren high-fiving in relief, especially since Silver Sonic didn't return this time. However, as they celebrated, they saw a flash of light, revealing a diamond-shaped yellow gem that landed in Tails' hands.
''T-That's a Chaos Emerald!'' Warren stuttered in shock.
''A Chaos Emerald?'' Tails replied in a stunned state. ''But, how is that possible?'' Before any of them could continue their conversation, they were met by another flash of light, revealing two familiar figures. ''Silver? Makoto? What are you doing here?''
''It's a long story, but from what we've figured out, Dr. Eggman and Dr. Starline have trapped us here and we need to collect five more… well, four more,'' Makoto corrected himself upon seeing the yellow gem in Tails' hands, ''Chaos Emeralds. Touka and Shadow got one already.''
''Shadow also taught me how to use Chaos Control with a Chaos Emerald, and if we collect all of them, we'll be able to escape this place,'' Silver explained.
''Where are they?'' Warren asked.
''They went to another Zone. Shadow had figured that it would be easier for us to collect all the Chaos Emeralds if we split up,'' Silver explained.
''Okay,'' Tails nodded. ''Let's see what we can find.''
xXx
Knuckles punched Mecha Sonic, sending him flying across Sky Sanctuary with ease, almost causing him to fall off the platform. Mecha Sonic barely held himself onto the edge of the platform, when Lily suddenly appeared, having found a metallic rod and giving him an apologetic look.
''This will hurt me more than you,'' she said, swinging the metallic rod at Mecha Sonic, knocking him off the platform. Knuckles approached her, looking rather satisfied with the result.
''Nice job,'' he said.
''Oh, please, that was all you,'' Lily replied, with both being surprised by a sudden flash of light. Above them, a diamond-shaped purple gem appeared, falling right on Knuckles' head. Fortunately, he managed to catch it before it fell over the edge of the platform.
''Huh, what's that?'' Knuckles stared at the gem, which Lily immediately recognized.
''Knux, that's a Chaos Emerald! That's one of the most powerful gems in the world!'' she said, looking quite awestruck. Knuckles rose an eyebrow, turning it in his hands.
''Why did this appear before us?'' he wondered.
''I don't know… I mean, this is an area from a video game. Maybe we got rewarded for beating Mecha Sonic?'' Lily suggested. Before their conversation could continue, a flash of light appeared, revealing itself to be Shadow and Touka. ''Woah, what are you two doing here?''
''It's a long story, but we are currently in an AR Field created by Dr. Eggman and Dr. Starline, and the rest of Team Neos is also trapped here, and the two Doctors are probably going to try to collect the Chaos Emeralds,'' Touka quickly explained. ''We already came across Makoto and Silver, and they're on the search for the others.''
''How many Chaos Emeralds did you manage to gather?'' Knuckles asked.
''Two so far, but with you, it's three. If Silver and Makoto had managed to find another, then we'll have four out of seven,'' Shadow explained.
''How did you even manage to travel between Zones?'' Lily asked. ''We tried to leave Sky Sanctuary to get to Hidden Palace Zone, but we were just teleported back.''
''It appears that one can travel between the Zones via Chaos Control,'' Touka explained.
Just then, Sky Sanctuary suddenly started to shake, with their surroundings glitching out, only for a crowd of EggRobos to surround them, as well as Mecha Sonic reappearing, but this time in a golden colour, having returned as Super Mecha Sonic Mark II. Above them, flying in a smaller version of the Egg Mobile, was Dr. Starline.
''You again!'' Touka shouted, with Dr. Starline grinning at them.
''Surprise! I had figured that I should get back-up. Maybe you two can take down a whole mech, but what about getting outnumbered?'' he said. Knuckles and Shadow took a battle stance, with the echidna glancing at Shadow.
''That's Dr. Starline?'' he asked. Shadow nodded. Knuckles huffed. ''He doesn't look like much of a threat.''
''He may not have a mech, but I would still be cautious,'' Shadow warned the echidna, being on guard.
''It doesn't matter how cautious you are, I will make sure to take you down and bring those Chaos Emeralds to Dr. Eggman!'' Starline told them, smirking. ''Then, the Doctor will have nothing but words of praise for me!''
xXx
''Okay, question; how do we find a Chaos Emerald here? We saw that one just appeared in front of Touka and Shadow,'' Lucas said, as he and Sonic searched Green Hill for the elusive gem.
''Well, this is a location based on a video game. Maybe we have to follow video game logic,'' Sonic replied.
Lucas rose an eyebrow, wondering what Sonic meant. Technically, they were trapped in some kind of infinite loop of the Green Hill Zone, unable to break out, which is why they needed the Chaos Emerald. However, they also needed to figure out how to make one appear, and if they went by video game logic, then they would have to enter the Special Stages, but as noted above, that was impossible. Nevertheless, there was something Lucas noticed as he observed the screens showing his friends.
''We would have to beat the Boss of the Zone… However, we know that this Zone doesn't have a Boss due to what Dr. Eggman did…'' he trailed off, exchanging glances with Sonic. ''Actually, maybe we just have to pass the Goal Plate.''
Sonic snorted. ''That would be the easiest way of getting the Chaos Emerald. As a matter of fact, it's too-'' Sonic stopped, seeing the Goal Plate in front of him. Last time he and Lucas passed it, they found themselves back at the beggining of Green Hill. Nevertheless, both sped up and passed it. ''Easy?'' To their surprise, there was a flash of light, with a blue diamond-shaped gem appearing before them, with Sonic snatching it out of the air. ''Okay, Eggman really should've put some Badniks around to at least give me some kind of challenge.''
''Well, that not our problem anymore,'' Lucas replied. ''Now, how does one use Chaos Control with this thing?''
Both him and Sonic fell silent, as despite Lucas' knowledge of the lore of the Chaos Emeralds and the various Chaos-related abilities, they still had no clue how to properly use it like Shadow and Touka did. Sonic just stared at the Chaos Emerald, as if expecting it to do something, weighting in his hands carefully, before shrugging.
''Well, all I can do is trust my instincts,'' he said. Lucas gave him a dubious look.
''I hope your instincts won't make us permanently trapped here,'' he said.
''Heh, just trust me, I know what I'm doing,'' he said, holding up the Chaos Emerald. Lucas couldn't help but roll his eyes, even though he did trust his partner with his life. ''CHAOS CONTROL!!!''
xXx
Amy had managed to catch up to Metal Sonic, trying to hit him with her Piko Piko Hammer, only for Metal Sonic to block it and grab her hammer, throwing her backwards, leading to the pink hedgehog landing right on Minami. Due to being fueled with the power of Chaos Surge, Sonic's metallic rival was much stronger than before. However, neither Amy nor Minami were ready to give up, having overheard the conversation about the Chaos Emeralds between Ferra and Dr. Eggman.
''You two should really should know when to give up!'' Ferra said, her whole body crackling with energy. The same energy surrounded Metal Sonic as he prepared to blast away the two, only for a blue flash of light to appear right above them. Metal Sonic and Ferra could only look up before something heavy fell right on top of them.
''Aghh...'' Sonic fell his head spin and his body ache, but he was still happy at the results, clutching the blue Chaos Emerald in his hand. ''Nailed it!''
''Ugh, what was- huh?'' Lucas' dazed look was quickly replaced by surprise when he realized that he landed right on top of Ferra, while Sonic landed on Metal Sonic. ''I guess this might count as defeating the Boss of Stardust Speedway?''
''Get off me!'' Ferra shouted at him, kicking Lucas off of her, with Metal Sonic doing the same to his organic counterpart, although with a lot more force. Sonic rolled over before getting into a battle stance.
''All right, Metal! If you want to fight, we'll fight!'' Sonic said, still clutching the Chaos Emerald in his hand. Lucas, meanwhile, went over to Minami and Amy.
''Are you two okay?'' he asked.
''Yeah, but how did you get here?'' Amy asked.
''Sonic used Chaos Control,'' Lucas said, pointing at the blue gem Sonic was holding, then noted the questioning looks Minami and Amy gave him. ''I'll explain everything later, but what you need to know is that all of Team Neos is trapped in different Zones of this AR Field and we're trying to find the Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Eggman does.''
''How many do we have?'' Minami asked.
''From what I've seen, two are missing. We need to find the Chaos Emerald of Stardust Speedway,'' Lucas replied. The three then turned towards Sonic, who was currently locked in a brawl with Metal Sonic. Not only was Sonic's robotic counterpart after the blue Chaos Emerald his rival was holding, but he went back to just trying to beat up Sonic for the sake of beating him up.
Ferra, on the other hand, seemed to have spotted something, and Lucas saw the same. He grabbed his hoverboard and shoved it into Minami's hands. ''Get the Chaos Emerald! I'll help Sonic!''
Minami and Amy, who both took note of Ferra's behavior and her taking off towards the far end of Stardust Speedway, having spotted the red Chaos Emerald, quickly got on Lucas' hoverboard and sped off without a word. Even though Ferra had a headstart, Lucas' hoverboard was much faster thanks to the modifications Warren and Tails added.
''Com'n… Com'n!'' Minami hissed under her breath, hoping that her and Amy's combined weight didn't slow them down. Ferra turned around, spotting the two going after her and gaining speed. However, Ferra was incredibly close to the Chaos Emerald, reaching out for it…
''Oh, no you don't!'' Amy leapt from the hoverboard, throwing her hammer at Ferra, causing her to stumble and fall off. She was then caught by Minami, with both reaching for the red diamond-shaped gem. ''Yes!''
''No!'' Ferra cried out furiously as Amy held onto the Chaos Emerald, while Minami just gave her a smug look.
xXx
Dr. Eggman rubbed his temple as he watched the screen of the Egg Mobile, being annoyed to see that Dr. Starline clearly underestimated the combined force of Knuckles and Shadow, both equipped with Chaos Emeralds, and groaned when he saw Ferra failing to acquire the red Chaos Emerald. Even though he had faith in his Enforcer, he had to admit that he expected failure to some extent. He knew that it was a tragedy that Team Neos managed to get six of the Chaos Emeralds, but he still had a chance. There was one Chaos Emerald remaining and Dr. Eggman knew exactly where to find it.
As it turned out, there was an area between all AR Fields, a so-called no man's land that connected to each of the AR Fields, containing the glitches and bugs that formed thanks to Shadow's Chaos Energy and the place of origin for the Chaos Emeralds. It certainly looked nothing like the other Zones, but was more of a mish-mash of all of them, with the grey diamond-shaped gem being placed on a stone pedestal in the middle of the Zone.
''Ho ho ho… even if Team Neos managed to get all of the other Chaos Emeralds, they still cannot escape when one Chaos Emerald is missing,'' Dr. Eggman said, lowering the Egg Mobile to get to the pedestal, only to get startled by a flash of light, with Silver, Makoto, Tails and Warren having a hard landing.
''Ugh… That hurt…'' Warren said, rubbing his head.
''Sorry, I guess I miscalculated,'' Silver, who was holding onto the cyan Chaos Emerald, replied as he rubbed his head.
''At least we got out of the Death Egg Zone,'' Tails said, holding onto the yellow Chaos Emerald.
''Dr. Eggman!'' Makoto gasped when he realized that they weren't alone.
The rest of the group looked up, surprised to see Dr. Eggman hovering above them. Dr. Eggman was fuming at the sight of them, having hoped that they wouldn't find out about this Zone.
''I will not let you ruin my plans!'' Dr. Eggman growled, pressing a button and unleashing a barrage of homing missiles, forcing Silver to raise a cyan barrier with his psychokinesis to block the attack. Dr. Eggman took advantage of this, pressing another button that caused a mechanical claw to be lowered and snatched away the grey Chaos Emerald from the pedestal.
''Oh, no, he got the Chaos Emerald!'' Makoto cried out. Dr. Eggman laughed as he flew away, well aware that they will be now trapped forever here, only for the laughter to stop when Tails flew towards him, hanging onto the claw and trying to pry it open.
''Get off the Egg Mobile, Prower!'' Dr. Eggman yelled at the twin-tailed fox, who desperately clung onto the mechanical claw. Dr. Eggman started to drive the Egg Mobile in an erratic manner, hoping to shake Tails off.
''Chaos Surge!''
Much to Dr. Eggman's horror, the Egg Mobile was stopped by the combined power of Silver and Makoto's psychokinesis, who were keeping the vehicle in place. Tails grinned, managing to get the grey Chaos Emerald out of the claw, and now holding two of them flew back towards his friends.
''No! How dare you steal from me?!'' Dr. Eggman growled.
''We know exactly that we cannot trust you with the Chaos Emeralds, so we're taking them with us!'' Warren replied.
''Then I'll make sure that you're going nowhere!'' Dr. Eggman shouted, pressing another button. Suddenly, the whole Zone shook, with Silver, Makoto, Tails and Warren staring at their surroundings in horror. Dr. Eggman laughed, well aware that he just activated a program to close the AR Field. If they all didn't get out as soon as possible, they would be erased from existence along with the collapsing AR Field. ''Enjoy the afterlife!''
Dr. Eggman then vanished from the AR Field, clearly retreating. A sense of panic enveloped the four as they realized that they were now on a timer.
''The whole AR Field is collapsing! Silver, can you warp us to the others?'' Tails asked. Silver nodded, although panic was already setting in.
''I-I can… But there are two energy signatures I'm detecting,'' he said, only to shake his head. He wasn't sure which path to take, but he needed to pick one immediately. ''Everyone, stay close!'' He held up the cyan Chaos Emerald, focusing on what seemed to be the stronger energy signature. ''CHAOS CONTROL!!''
xXx
Sonic curled into a ball, performing a homing attack on Metal Sonic, who managed to quickly dodge it. His sensors detected that his own Chaos Surge was running out of power and if he wanted to get rid off Sonic once and for all, he needed to be quick. Not only that, but Sonic was also holding onto the blue Chaos Emerald, and since they already lost the red Chaos Emerald to Amy and Minami, he needed to at least get that one.
Metal Sonic targeted his organic counterpart, firing several blasts from his chest. Fortunately, one of them managed to hit Sonic, causing him to fall on the ground. Metal Sonic rushed over to grab the blue Chaos Emerald, but Sonic managed to throw it towards Lucas, who caught it.
''If you think that we'll give you the Chaos Emerald, you're dead wrong,'' Sonic told his metallic counterpart, who shot him a glare, then suddenly rushed over to Lucas. The teenager's eyes widened, and he managed to dodge Metal Sonic, then started to run towards Sonic, with the robot being on his heels.
However, before Metal Sonic could swipe at Lucas, the whole Stardust Speedway shook, and it looked like it was falling apart. Ferra, Minami and Amy were also stunned by what was going on, with Ferra getting into contact with Dr. Eggman.
''What is going on with the AR Field?!'' she asked.
''I decided to close it! Get out unless you want to get yourself killed!'' Dr. Eggman replied, disconnecting the call. Ferra felt her heart race as she realized that the AR Field would collapse all around them, and turned to her partner. ''Metal, we need to leave! NOW!!''
Despite wanting to complete his mission and beat up Sonic, Metal understood the urgency in Ferra's tone. He flew over to her, with both then vanishing from the AR Field. Meanwhile, Minami and Amy joined Lucas and Sonic, noting how the roads all around them were collapsing.
''We don't have all of the Chaos Emeralds!'' Lucas pointed out, giving the blue Chaos Emerald to Sonic. ''We need to find the others before we get trapped here for good!''
''I think I know where to find the others! Hold on tight!'' Sonic said as his friends gathered around him, holding the blue Chaos Emerald up. ''CHAOS CONTROL!!''
xXx
''Chaos Spear!''
Siphoning the energy from the green Chaos Emerald, Shadow summoned a barrage of Chaos Spears, flinging them towards the EggRobos, shattering each and every one of them. Next to him was Knuckles, who gave the purple Chaos Emerald to Lily so he was free to fight Super Mecha Sonic. The Sonic look-a-like curled into a ball, flying towards the echidna. Knuckles braced himself, attempting to punch the robot, but was instead sent flying and landing on the platform just at the edge. He was fortunate that he didn't fall off. He saw Super Mecha Sonic flying towards him once again, summoning an energy ball and firing it at Knuckles. The echidna managed to roll over, dodging it, then getting up and rushing towards Super Mecha Sonic. However, before he could land a hit, Super Mecha Sonic suddenly glitched out and vanished.
''What?!'' Dr. Starline was shocked to see that the robot was gone. ''This was not supposed to happen!''
The screen before him suddenly crackled and he was surprised when Dr. Eggman appeared. ''Starline! The AR Field is collapsing, so unless you want to get killed, get out!''
''B-But, Doctor-! The mission-!'' Dr. Starline stuttered, but the screen already went black. The whole Sky Sanctuary Zone shook, slowly vanishing out of existence, with the data particles fading away. ''No, no, no! How could you do that, Doctor?! We need the Chaos Emeralds!''
''Chaos Blast!''
Dr. Starline cried out in panic when Shadow's Chaos Blast hit the Egg Mobile, causing it to fall and the platypus Irregular hit the ground hard. He sat up, feeling numb from the impact, only for his eyes to widen in horror when he saw Shadow and Knuckles approach him, both with murderous looks on their expressions.
''I guess I should listen to the Doctor,'' Starline muttered. As much as he wanted to fulfill his mission, he valued his life more. He could try again another time. Quickly pressing the top of his glove, he vanished before the dark hedgehog and red echidna could murder him in a brutal fashion.
''Darn it, he's gone!'' Knuckles growled, with Shadow turning to him with a grim look.
''We have more pressing matters to worry about,'' he said, pointing at their surroundings. Touka and Lily had joined them, taking note of how the floating platforms were falling into the dark abyss below.
''We need to find the others and get the rest of the Chaos Emeralds,'' Touka said in an urgent tone. ''That the only way for us to escape!''
''Right, but how are we going to find-'' Lily started, only to be startled by a flash of cyan light. To their relief, they saw Silver, Makoto, Tails and Warren.
''We got three Chaos Emeralds!'' Tails shouted, his group rushing over to them. ''How many more- Agh!''
The platform they were standing on suddenly tilted, forcing the group to run towards the next platform. They were all breathing heavily, their surroundings becoming smaller and smaller as Sky Sanctuary was falling apart. They exchanged glances, only to get startled by a flash of blue light, with Sonic, Lucas, Amy and Minami appearing before them.
''Guys, are you-?'' Sonic was cut off by Shadow, who had managed to gather the Chaos Emeralds from Knuckles, Silver and Tails.
''Ask questions later, Sonic! We need to escape!'' he growled, with Sonic nodding, him and Amy giving up their own Chaos Emeralds. The seven gems started to surround Shadow as he focused on their energy, now far greater than the one he sensed from just one Chaos Emerald. A bright glow surrounded him and the rest of Team Neos as their surroundings grew darker and darker, turning into an unending void. ''CHAOS CONTROL!!!''
xXx
There was a blinding flash of light, with Team Neos losing all sense of direction, only to find themselves a moment later back on solid ground. Feeling somewhat dizzy, it took them a bit to recover. Sonic was the first to break the silence, rubbing his head.
''Woah… Hey, we're back at the workshop!''
The rest of Team Neos looked around, realizing that, indeed, Shadow had warped all of them back to the Taylor Workshop.
''Thank goodness that we got out of that AR Field,'' Amy said, taking a deep breath, with the rest of the group agreeing with her.
''Yeah, I don't want to repeat this experience,'' Lily said, glancing at Shadow, who was currently being looked over by Touka. It seemed that using the Chaos Emeralds like this did affect him as well.
''Shadow, how are you feeling?'' Touka asked. Shadow just shook his head, getting up.
''The Chaos Emeralds are gone,'' he said. This caused a moment a silence, with the group exchanging confused glances.
''How could they just vanish?'' Minami asked. Tails, who got up, reached for the Miles Electric in his backpack, having kept it on during this whole adventure.
''I think I may have an answer…'' he said, connecting the Miles Electric to the computer and analyzing the data. ''Since the Chaos Emeralds were created inside the AR Field, once it ceased to exist, so did the Emeralds. I would have to put a bit more time into this, but it seems to be the most logical outcome.''
''So, even if we attempted to take them out of the AR Field, we wouldn't have been able to do so?'' Silver asked. Tails nodded in response.
''Well, that's good news. This means that Eggman wouldn't have been able to take them either,'' Sonic said.
''Yes, but wouldn't he be able to re-create the AR Field and the Chaos Emeralds?'' Knuckles asked.
''I doubt it,'' Lucas said, drawing everyone's question. ''Sonic and I saw that the Chaos Emeralds were a result of Shadow using his Chaos-based powers, so unless Eggman had access to Chaos Energy, he wouldn't be able to repeat this on his own.''
''So, it's over?'' Makoto asked. Lucas nodded.
''It's over.''
Team Neos was quite relieved to hear that their adventure was indeed over. While this was quite an exhilarating adventure, they all just wanted back to their normal life.
xXx
''Doctor, why would you cause the AR Field to collapse? We could've taken the Chaos Emeralds!'' Dr. Starline said, completely baffled by his idol's decision.
''As it turns out, that wasn't possible after all,'' Dr. Eggman responded, pointing at the screens behind him. ''The Chaos Emeralds were a by-product of the AR Field and Shadow's Chaos Energy. Even if I attempted to replicate what happened, I wouldn't be able to do that without the hedgehog.''
''So, this whole mission was a failure from the start?'' Dr. Starline asked, quite disappointed. There was a sigh coming from the other side of the room, the source of it being an annoyed Ferra and Metal Sonic. To everyone's surprise, Dr. Eggman grinned.
''Oh ho ho ho, on the contrary, Dr. Starline; I believe that this mission was quite important. We know now that it is possible to create Chaos Emeralds, and while we don't have the means, we do have the necessary data for that. So, I wouldn't shelve this plan yet,'' Dr. Eggman replied.
''Ah, so it was a success then!'' Dr. Starline said, clasping his hands, looking quite happy with the news.
''Indeed,'' Dr. Eggman replied, sitting down in his chair as he observed the data on the screen. ''All we have to do is to take advantage of what we know.''
xXx
Rouge shivered as she crawled through the air-vent, tugging at the golden collar around her neck. She knew that she was in a very dangerous place and that she needed to escape, but for that, she needed more information and a way out. She was trapped in this place, and all she could do was to spy on those who have trapped her here. She managed to come across an opening at an office, hearing voices coming from it.
''This is the autopsy report from the Sakamoto case.''
There was a pause as the other person in the room, a man with dark grey hair and wearing a grey and dark green uniform read the autopsy report the agent brought him.
''So, the Professor had indeed died from blood loss, and his body was moved. Have you managed to track down where his body was before someone tampered with it?'' the man, who appeared to be a quite high-ranking officer.
''Unfortunately, we haven't,'' the agent replied, with his superior frowning. ''We are doing our best to find Hiroshi Sakamoto's murderer.''
Rouge felt chills flowing down her spine as she overheard this. She did not have pleasant memories associated with that name.
''What about Project Shadow? Have you managed to track down the Irregular?'' the man continued. Rouge gasped, quickly covering her mouth and hoping nobody had heard her.
''It appears that Miss Kageura had been keeping him at her house. We don't know how he was found, but it is possible that Touka may have been able to recall her memories,'' the agent replied.
''I see…'' the man furrowed a brow. ''Get them over here. We believed that Project Shadow was a waste of time, but perhaps the weapons project may end up being a success.''
Rouge felt sick to her stomach after hearing this. She wanted to warn Shadow and Touka that they were in grave danger, but that was impossible, especially with her current situation. She just hoped that they would be able to avoid capture.

LOKI 2.4
I don't see why they can't keep Dox in Holding forever; they had no problem pruning Lokis into the Void for forever. >.>
Dammit, Sylvie, it would have taken OB and Victor five seconds to sign each other's copies of the TVA Guidebook; could you not let them have their brief moment of fanboying joy?
OB's explanation of the Loom is very helpful here; it reminds me of the Doctor on Doctor Who explaining sciencey things to his companions on screen so that the kiddies (and adults, lol) at home could understand what was going on. (Okay, so the TVA as a TARDIS, discuss. Look at all those long corridors its got for running in!) I loved OB's "...the backlog of branches that was created when someone...*looks accusingly at Sylvie* ...killed He Who Remains and released all those branches and ruined my life." (Aw, come on, OB, you're out of the basement now! You're making friends and meeting admirers of your work!)
Loki claiming that the little figure in the model was clearly not him so why did he have to be the one to 'hoof it' and lob the throughput multiplier into the Loom? Well, Loki, you have very long legs and can run fast, also tradition has been established that your character is the one who gets sent to do the hard jobs for others; just be glad you're not being asked to steal Surtur's flame and doom Asgard this time around. (Of course, your decision to abscond with the Tesseract has already caused the TVA to erase the Asgard of your timeline, people and realm both, so...uh, never mind, pretend I never said anything.)
MOBIUS AND HIS PIE AGAIN. I SWEAR TO GOD THAT THE TVA LACES THE PIE WITH DRUGS TO KEEP ITS WORKERS DOCILE AND HAPPY WITH HAVING NO LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK AND POSSIBLY ACTS AS A CONTINUAL DOSAGE OF SOMETHING THAT KEEPS THEM FROM REGAINING THEIR MEMORIES? MOBIUS CAN'T GO TOO LONG WITHOUT ANOTHER SLICE OF PIE BECAUSE HE'S EXPERIENCING THE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS OF AN ADDICT. I was so happy to hear Sylvie call him out on his pie-seeking habits and his refusal to try to find out any information about the timeline he was pulled from. Like sure it might hurt to remember a family whom he'd lost, but I'd rather honour the memories of loved ones by remembering them than being too cowardly to do so.
I have to agree with the point I saw raised in another post of 'WHY do they have to fix the Loom? Surely all the multiple timelines managed to exist just fine on their own before it was created?' Also, hoo boy, did Loki's speech about how you can't free a people and then leave them to look after themselves remind anyone else of Asgard's justification of being the ruler of the Nine Realms? Keeping a military presence on those conquered worlds? AND NO, LOKI, YOU'RE NOT A GOD, YOUR DAD TOLD ME SO IN A BIT OF THE SACRED TIMELINE YOU DIDN'T GET TO EXPERIENCE. Although this time at the TVA is Loki's post-Thanos period when he was claiming the same thing in the Sacred Timeline, wanting to be a 'benevolent god'. So...that actually ties in.
Um -- do we all agree that Miss Minutes looked orgasmic watching everyone (except Brad) be crushed in the cube thingie?
(Was Loki pruning himself related back to the time slipping thing? I still don't really understand what the point of that was.)
OB: But if I reboot Miss Minutes, we'll lose the magic dampeners in the TVA!
Loki and Sylvie: THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF A PROBLEM!
Oh hell yeah, Bradley, prune that bitch! I HOPE YOU END UP IN THE VOID WITH A HUNGRY ALLIGATOR, RAVONNA.
Kudos to Timely for sensibly asking if it's safe before sticking his head inside some alien machinery and not just blindly following instructions.
LIGHT! BEAUTIFUL LIGHT IN THE TVA! I don't care what this means as long as I can properly see what's going on!
Oh. Oh shit. Spaghettification is what's going on, huh. *Salutes Victor Timely* May you get the afterlife you hoped for, sir, you died a noble death. Guys. Guys, stop staring into the blinding radioactive light; I'm sure that's not good for your eyes.
And...what a cliffhanger; it's like FINALLY all the pieces are falling into place and the story is getting to someplace exciting. That was a good episode; I hope it keeps up this pace next week and something good happens if the Loom is going pear-shaped. I gotta try to remember to watch this on Thursday for a change.
@delyth88 -- finally felt inspired to make a long reaction post! (And my stupid computer glitched about 2/3 of the way through and I had to rewatch what I'd already seen to remember what I had been commenting on! I blame the TVA.)

one of the funniest documents released so far in the google antitrust trial is this set of emails between a Google Ads bigwig and a Google Chrome bigwig, in which the Ads bigwig begs Chrome to roll back some-feature-or-another because buh-buh-buh my ads revenue ;_;
and it's interesting in that it's a pretty clear illustration of both (1) google has so much data, they absolutely have to know that search quality is getting worse, presumably in more intimate quantitative detail than us non-data-havers are ever going to have, but (2) that doesn't matter because merely having that information doesn't mean they'll make wise or good decisions with it
which is not an especially novel observation, but—among e.g. older folks, or less-internet-cynicism-poisoned folks, i still sometimes run into people who kind of take it as a weird article of faith that surely The People In Charge of these companies know what they're doing, and if a decision seems kinda dumb or nearsighted, well, clearly they wouldn't just be doing stuff based on vibes or short-termism, they're too smart for that
i hear this among even people who should know way better? like i know this guy whose late career went through some serious Death-of-a-Salesman type shit due to fuckwits in the hospital administration, and... dude's still like "well surely company is doing [x] for a good reason." like. they're doing it for some reason, sure. but i wouldn't jump to assume a good one!
and i mean for some people i think that kind of thing is a desperate article of faith, because the alternative is just sort of depressing—had a chat with an older couple a while ago, where one of them was like, hey, we're getting older and there's not enough doctors, is this AI stuff going to solve that? and i kinda gave my most diplomatic off-the-cuff thoughts of "uhhh i mean it might be a useful diagnostic tool for certain things but i think healthcare's problems are kinda... deeper... than that?", and the other member of the couple was like, that's right, did you know 70% of healthcare spending is for chronic conditions, AI's only going to help for the remaining 30%, and certainly isn't going to help us much. and the other person was like "i know you're right," but looked a lil deflated—clearly she's worried about getting old, and the only damn thing the press is hyping up is AI, and she's world-wise enough to know the alternative is, uh, kinda bad, so. i get it
(i have a friend whose pet theory is that the Greatest Generation was just disproportionately stuffed with competent people in various governmental/regulatory/business-y posts, because the Great Depression fucked up so many careers that you had overqualified people in a lot of roles that were usually more drudgery-y making sure those jobs got done really well... and ergo the children of that generation have a weirdly high opinion of How Well People Are Running Things... which seems like a kinda dodgy theory to me, but i also saw Joe Coulombe tout this theory in his book about Trader Joe's, so, clearly this theory has some kind of memetic force behind it? idk)
anyway that's a lot of off-the-cuff rambling to say: i'm always glad when a trial leaks a bunch of documents to the public so everyone can see The Boring And Kinda Dumb Ways That Rooms Full O' Bigwigs Decide Things haha

i want Ted to read to me (he’d be so hot with reading glasses)
Listen, there's nothing sexier than a good book reading session with someone you care about, and even sexier is being read to by someone with a beautiful voice who knows how to read at a good pace. Ted can do all of it. Let's gooooo!
---
Relationship: Ted Lasso x reader
Smut: Not intentional but I bet it happens, lol
---
Ted sat down on the couch after dinner, smiling.
"Thanks for dinner, sweetheart," he compliments, like he does every time you make a meal.
"No problem, Teddy. Glad you liked it..."
As you flip through your phone notifications, you see Ted slip on a pair of reading glasses from the corner of your eye, pulling a book to his lap.
"Teddy...what are..." you ask, a bit flushed because well, he looks incredible with those dark frames perched on his face.
"Oh, these? Yeah. I went to the eye doctor the other day and he suggested I get these to help me when I read. Darn things take some gettin' used to..." he says, rambling.
"How do I look, sweetheart?" he asks honestly, his eyebrows pinched together.
"So delicious I could eat you with a spoon!" you answer, purring at him. He laughs.
"Oh, someone has a glasses kink, eh?" he jokes. "Good to know."
He opens his book to start reading and you scooch toward him on the couch. Desperate to be near him. Oh, those glasses are working for you!
"Whatcha readin' babe?" you ask brightly. He pulls his arm up, letting you slide under and against his chest.
I'm reading The Great Gatsby. Beardo's been readin' it and I forgot how good it is. I haven't read it since probably high school."
You smile.
"It's my favorite book, I think. I always loved it so much," you answer.
He smiles at you with a grin, his dimple on his cheek.
"Well then, why don't we read it together?" he says, and you nod, tucking yourself against him, your arm over his belly.
He opens the book to the first page, taking a breath. Ted's voice is low, with his Kansas drawl, but he speaks at an even measure. A low rumble in his chest you can hear as you're pressed against it.
In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since.
“Whenever you feel like criticizing any one,” he told me, “just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.”
You could recite this first part from memory, you've read it so many times. But you fall in love more with the sound of Teddy reading it. That passage, especially, sounds like something he would say.
He didn’t say any more, but we’ve always been unusually communicative in a reserved way, and I understood that he meant a great deal more than that. In consequence, I’m inclined to reserve all judgments, a habit that has opened up many curious natures to me and also made me the victim of not a few veteran bores. The abnormal mind is quick to detect and attach itself to this quality when it appears in a normal person, and so it came about that in college I was unjustly accused of being a politician, because I was privy to the secret griefs of wild, unknown men.
You take a deep breath, sighing against him, as his arm around you starts to rub soft circles against your hip.
Most of the confidences were unsought — frequently I have feigned sleep, preoccupation, or a hostile levity when I realized by some unmistakable sign that an intimate revelation was quivering on the horizon; for the intimate revelations of young men, or at least the terms in which they express them, are usually plagiaristic and marred by obvious suppressions...
Ted's hand slips under the waistband of your sweatpants, rubbing along your panty hemline.
Your breath hitches, your hand caressing up and down his side as it's reached across him.
Reserving judgments is a matter of infinite hope. I am still a little afraid of missing something if I forget that, as my father snobbishly suggested, and I snobbishly repeat, a sense of the fundamental decencies is parcelled out unequally at birth.
His hand sneaks lower, cupping the flesh of your ass and your smooth thigh. His breath hitches as he reads on.
And, after boasting this way of my tolerance, I come to the admission that it has a limit...
Ted takes another deep breath, feeling his desire coursing...
Conduct may be founded on the hard rock or the wet marshes, but after a certain point I don’t care what it’s founded on...
You can't stand it anymore, sitting up to kiss him. His mouth is open and panting, his cheeks rosed blush from the warmth you've created inside him.
"Bedroom?" you ask, using few words as your breath heaves.
He nods.
"Glasses stay on," you suggest, holding his hand as he chases you into the bedroom.
---
I hope I did this justice. I think reading glasses Ted needs to make a comeback. Too sexy, too hot. And yes, glasses stay on. Ha! Thanks for the prompt, friend!

I'm Not Simon Riley I'm Ghost
Chapter 5
SoapGhost
___
Ghost expected to be rushed in the morning. He was expecting to be met with guns pointed at his face as soon as he opened the door to his room. But he wasn’t. No one was acting differently around him, Price wasn’t on high alert. Soap really didn’t say anything and that was strange.
Ghost didn’t go out of his way to look for the man, but he did keep an eye out. As he went on with his day to day, he eventually spotted Soap. Acting like nothing happened. He was joking with Gaz, shoulder bandaged and his arm in a sling, but it appeared as though everything was fine and normal. Ghost couldn’t wrap his head around it. On how Soap was just fine with keeping Ghost’s secret.
He was in deep thought for half the day, thinking of all the reasons Soap had to keep things quiet. Sure, considering his life was on the line would be a good reason. But when Ghost had seen him, the man didn’t have a hint of fear about him. To anyone it would appear to be just a normal day.
”Simon?”
Ghost blinks and refocuses on Price. The man has a concerned look on his face.
”Everything alright?”
”Of course.”
Price doesn’t seem the slightest bit convinced but he says nothing more and continues on with the meeting. A notorious arms dealer by the name of Hiro Shizuma has been stirring trouble in France. Ghost remembers hearing the guys name years back before he disappeared. And now he’s finally coming back up to the surface.
”The Shizuma crime family has been making rounds recently.“
”Yes, and we need to put a end to this before it becomes a problem.”
Ghost was glad some trouble was stirring up finally. He was starting to get hungry.
Price hands out files that go over everyone’s roles in this situation. Plus a profile that goes over everything that they know about Hiro Shizuma and his lackeys. And to be honest there wasn’t much to go by. As far as their research lead them, Hiro Shizuma didn’t exist before 1960. Hell, they didn’t know what he even looked like.
Another Valeria Garza. Ghost thinks to himself as he reads the profile. No matter, they’ll either find who he is and take him out, or a war will brew on and on. It didn’t really matter to him. With this job, Ghost would never go hungry.
Ghost moves past the profile to see what Price had planned for him and the moment he sees Soap’s fucking name he has to restrain himself. Though, the fact he was working with Soap meant he didn’t have to hide what he was around him.
You can’t trust him. Ghost closes the file. He had to take a moment to collect himself in order to prevent losing it in front of his peers. You’ll have to take him out. He won’t stay quiet for long.
Price was expecting Ghost to take the lead on this considering the man was damn good at finding those who didn’t want to be found. He was good at this back in his home realm, and he’s good at it in the human realm.
”You’ll be meeting up with a man called Engel. He has a great bit of information on Hiro Shizuma and experience with finding people who don’t want to he found.”
Ghost wanted to argue that he didn’t need a human’s help on this but, of course, he doesn’t say anything. The meeting concludes and everyone starts to leave to prepare. Ghost waits for them to leave because he wanted to have a word with Price.
”Concerns about the mission?”
”Do you think Sergeant MacTavish would be healed by the time we depart?”
“Yes. Doctor did say the wound wasn’t as bad as it appeared.”
Price (obviously) didn’t suspect him of anything. Man would turn his back to him and expect him to protect it when he was more likely to chew on it.
”Did he say how he got injured?”
”Not exactly. He originally stated he didn’t know, then changed his answer to ‘he fell’. And when that also didn’t satisfy he said ‘it’s a kink thing’.”
Ghost blinks, feeling his eye twitch. But Price continued, “Doctor did say he came in wearing a jacket…”
Price turns back to Ghost who was becoming more and more mortified by the second.
”Look, what goes on in your bedroom is none of my business-“
”Price,” Ghost warns.
Price holds up a hand, “Just try not to incapacitate one of our best men with-“
Ghost stands abruptly, “Price!”
”I’m not judging!”
Ghost covers his face and groans loudly.
”I am concerned, however, if your relationship with the sergeant will affect your judgement on the field.”
A part of Ghost wanted to scream at Price and tell him to take Soap from away from him. But another part reminded Ghost that he needed to keep an eye on Soap and make sure he didn’t reveal anything. And, as painful as it was to accept: Price believing that Soap and Ghost were involved in some sort of strange bedroom ritual instead of anything remotely near the truth… That was actually preferable.
”Of course not, sir.”
Price looks over Ghost, “Are you positive on that?”
Ghost swallows his pride and falls into this new lie, “We were just blowing off some steam, sir. It’s nothing serious.”
Price sighs, “Alright… I trust you to keep things professional when it’s called for.”
Ghost, every single time, wants to laugh when Price openly states that he trusts him. But right now, he actually did need Price’s trust. Trust that he believes him.
”We’ll keep it under wraps, sir.”
”Good.”
Ghost left the room with his file to go gather the men and women chosen to work under him for this mission and prepare them. And while he prepared them, he would also have to prepare himself for the potential of the idea of him and Soap being an item spreading. He’d have to restrain himself from snapping at anyone who even humors the thought.
On his way, Ghost did catch another glimpse of Soap. Just like before, man was acting unbothered. He was with a different group this time. But, like everyone else who found themselves in the sergeant’s company, they were smiling and enjoying his presence. Ghost watched them for a moment and was quick to move on when someone looked his way. The file suddenly felt heavy in his grasp.
Like the mission that was to come was warning him of something. Ghost tended to have a good idea on whether or not something bad was going to happen. And after looking at Soap, the sensation of dread reared itself. But Ghost brushed off the feeling. The only bad thing he could think of happening was Soap revealing the truth about him.
And Ghost planned to kill him before he would even get the chance.

So glad to hear that you finally have answers! I'm sure it's gonna make everything at least a bit easier to deal with! I hope that whichever plan of action your doctors now decide to take works quickly and without any problems for you. Beautiful souls like yours don't deserve to be in agony 😓😣
And don't you even dare feel guilty for not coming on Tumblr much now. Your health, physical and mental, is the most important thing!!!
(Me? I've been... existing 😅)
(also, I didn't realise we were mutuals until like a minute ago lol)
first of all, so sorry for the late response! and even if you are just existing, i hope that this existence is treating you gently and lovingly 💗 (and yeah! we're moots now yay!! <3)
but yeah, a definitive answer is really nice. a few days ago they actually sent in a letter saying: "visceral hypersensitivity/overactive nerves sending inappropriate signals to the brain. There is actually no acid reflux." he said it's best treated with low dosages of antidepressants. he also recommended me to get testing done for gastroparesis, and if that comes back "unremarkable", we'll focus treatments on functional dyspepsia.
i have noticed lately that i have had really bad brain fog, esp since this has all started. i've been having a really hard time concentrating, almost constantly fatigued, zone out a fuck ton more than i usually do, and am asking people to repeat themselves quite literally every time they speak, because it all sounds like absolute gibberish. also, (tmi warning), in the past 4 months, i have only had one (1) period that lasted one (1) day. one day. it wasn't even a heavy flow either. my last regular period was when the day this whole situation started, in late november. and i'm currently exactly 3 weeks late for one. like i get the cramps and everything that you get with a period, except the blood.
so... i think this whole brain and nerve thing is going a LOT deeper than just my dyspepsia like systems. i haven't brought any of this up to my doctor, but the next time i see her, i'm gonna. but i have no damn clue what i'm gonna do at this point tbh. (personal/family rant incoming)
my dad is one of those extremely die-hard conservative trumpers, and a MASSIVE conspiracy theorist (just search up qanon; it'll explain everything i'm about to tell you). he was extremely against me getting the endoscopy, saying that my mom and i didn't mention me getting anesthesia (i did mention multiple times throughout the week before I got it done bc he was so damn worried), and him and my mom fought the morning I got the endoscopy done, just before we left.
when we got back, it was absolute hell for about a week, for my mom and i both. he told me that we betrayed him and that someone 'gave me permission' to not follow his instruction (I am 18 when he tells me this btw). then he said that if my mom and i ever question his rules or instruction again, he'll leave us or, worse, [a threat that i don't feel comfortable sharing here] for a week, he accused me of working for my mom's past sexual abuser, and of things i also don't feel comfortable sharing here. and then a week later, everything is perfectly fine. just like that. i'm used to extremely sudden mood and emotion changes in this family; i've been dealing with it for about a decade now (verbal abuse followed by lots of affection through words and gifts over and over). but this isn't my problem at the moment.
throughout the week, i also told him that i considered surgery for my gerd. he then proceeded to tell me that if i even considered doing that, or whatever the doctors say, i'm a retard, and that i clearly don't need him anymore (bc im not following his instruction) and he'll just leave us. and that we don't need him, we just have to "say the words" and he'll be out. so.
when we got this letter, he kept on saying how dumb and uneducated my doctors are (my dad's a high school drop out btw). i don't exactly remember what he said, but it was something to the effect of me needing to drink more water and eat healthier food, but I told him that's what we started with when i found out I had gerd and IBS 5 years ago, and it did nothing. he stood there, silent, for a solid 10 seconds before saying "......you know antidepressants can change your change you and fuck you up forever, right?". and at that point i just kind of gave up.
also my mom was attempting to explain the letter to my dad in the car ride home from picking her up from work, but she said he kept yelling and interrupting her, and just not listening to any explanationa she had to give; i wasn't there for that part.
but in conclusion: i know i'm 18 and can make my own decisions. i know he can't legally stop me from anything now. but for some stupid, insanely stupid reason, i just subconsciously hold my dad's validation more important than my lifelong health.
i even told my mom about all of this, that i'm stuck between my dad's acceptance and my lifelong health, but i also can't seem to say anything either way that will make him happy. And she just said "we'll you're fucked (with making my dad happy), either way, right? why don't you pick the one that comes with you being healthy?" and that actually straightened it out a bit for me.
but like. i still feel IMMENSE guilt whenever i do something that displeases or angers him even in the slightest. i don't know why im hanging my entire self worth one person, him, and i know just how fucked up it is. but it's like i can't stop. i just... i don't know. the situation just seems to be 'do i take care of myself, and him be angered towards me/leave me, or do i neglect my better judgement for the acceptance of my father?'
so that's what i'm currently dealing with at the moment lmfao. thank you so, so much for the ask, and i'm sorry the response was a college final essay. i sincerely hope with all my heart that today/tonight treats you well. 💞

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 067 - Isolation
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 3 Episode 16 - Doctor's Orders
Tumblr media
As we open on the enterprise, the ship is quiet. Porthos and Phlox are the only living creatures in sight. It would appear everyone else is confined to their quarters, asleep, with some sort of strange device on their foreheads heads. How did we end up in this situation?
Much like Dear Doctor, this episode uses letters between Phlox and a colleague (The same colleague actually) as a framing device to explain the current situation. I liked that there, and I certainly liked it here again.
Basically, Enterprise is travelling through an anomalous region of the expanse which messes with the human brain. The solution is simply to knock all the humans out for a few days while the ship passes through. Since Denobulans (and presumably dogs too) are conveniently immune, Phlox gets a crash course on how to run the entire ship by himself.
I'm glad that we got the flashback stuff out of the way really quickly, though, so that we get to spend the majority of the episode in the present. It's clear however that Phlox has been getting bored by himself very quickly. He has also started hearing strange noises. He comes to the conclusion that he's going stir crazy, but later he starts seeing things. Creatures in the shadows and on the hull, and later a full insect Xindi on the ship.
However, they're just halucinations. It would appear that T'Pol and Phlox aren't as immune as they thought, which was a nice inversion of the whole "Ah yes one us happens to be conveniently resistant to the problem of the week" thing that a few episodes have done so far.
No gonna lie, the episode was really dull. For whatever reason the horror atmosphere it was trying to build wasn't working for me, and the revelation that it was all just in Phlox's mind was fairly predictable. Phlox was, as ever, a delight, but Phlox being a delight just doesn't carry a whole episode for me. I probably would have gone on the really bizarre edge of the hallucinations once it's revealed that's what they are. That said, T'Pol and Phlox make for an interesting duo in this one, especially when both of them have their greatest mental strengths taken from them here. Also the final twist that T'Pol was a hallucination literally the whole time honestly got me.
I am however left to ask one question: When are we getting the Porthos focus episode that we truly deserve?

Bundles of Love
Amari!OC x Jun
TW: Childbirth, emetophobia
Word Count: 3,283
Summary: Isabelle the cat Amari finds out she's pregnant with Jun's baby and undergoes the process of breaking the news to Jun all the way up to the birth.
Notes: I know the idea might not be very popular with everyone, but I decided to write in a water birth because I find the idea of water birth very interesting. I've also written a few birth fics and wanted to change things up. I hope that is okay! Thanks for reading!
✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯ ✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯ ✯¸.•´*¨`*•✿ ✿•*`¨*`•.¸✯
"Congratulations."
"Hm?" She hummed in confusion, replying to the man in the white lab coat.
"It looks like you don't have the flu after all. The persistent bouts of morning sickness you've been experiencing are because you're pregnant," he said with a relaxed smile.
The whole world seemed to stop for her right then and there. Was he serious? Well, of course he was. This was Wornhardt, after all. He was always serious. Especially about extra serious matters. She smiled then, though by her expression one would think she was in pain.
"I'm sorry. I think I'm feeling another bout of nausea..."
Wornhardt chuckled, "Well, it isn't a surprise that you'd be nervous. This is your first, isn't it?"
She nodded.
"I can recommend some tea and lemon first thing in the morning for the nausea. If it continues to be a problem let me know, and I can try and get some medicine that will be safe for both you and the baby... Is.. everything alright?"
After the question Wornhardt reached down and pulled out a round metal basin from a cabinet by the bed, handing it to Belle in case she really was going to be sick. He thought by the look on her face that she might be.
"Thank you Wornhardt, but I'm okay. I'm just shocked. I mean, we weren't really trying for a baby but... at the same time I suppose we weren't really trying to prevent it, either."
Wornhardt laughed, "Well, that's how it happens sometimes." Then, he replied more seriously, "But really, Isabelle, you don't have to worry about a thing. I'm going to give you and your baby the best care I possibly can. And I know Jun will be over the moon to find out."
She looked up at him then, "You think so? You don't think it will be too sudden?"
"You know Jun just as well as I do, if not more. He isn't one to worry in the face of something unexpected. He welcomes life with open arms."
She smiled to herself then, "You're right, Wornhardt. Thank you."
"Of course. And besides, he'll be glad to hear that nothing is the matter with you."
She looked up then, "What do you mean?"
"Well, Jun has noticed that you haven't been yourself lately, which I'm sure he's communicated with you. He was the one who asked me to take a look at you before you decided to finally come in yourself. He's been pretty worried."
Her ears went down as she frowned. Has she really been making Jun worry so much? She couldn't help but feel a little selfish for putting off this doctor's appointment when it could've been something to help put Jun's nerves at ease.
"I see. I guess I have an apology to deliver along with the good news."
Wornhardt smiled before proceeding to fill out her paperwork and send her on her way.
---------------
She waited until the end of the day to make her way over to Jun’s house. When she got there, Jun had been starting a pot of tea.
"Oh, Belle! I didn't expect you at this time. How are you feeling? Want to come in for some tea?"
"Hi, Jun. I'd love that," she replied.
Jun welcomed her in, guiding her to the kotatsu in his living room. She sat down and thanked him as he handed her a warm cup of tea.
"Actually, Jun, as much as I love your company, I was here because I wanted to talk."
Jun set his cup down, "Of course. You know I'm here to listen any time you want to talk."
She clutched her own cup to her chest. The warmth from the ceramic mug comforted and grounded her. She knew she didn't need to be so nervous, but she's never had a conversation like this before. She only hoped it went as well as Wornhardt seemed to believe it would.
"I went to see Dr. Wornhardt today."
Jun reached a hand out across the table as an offer for her to take it. She unclasped her mug and took his hand in hers. His expression didn't seem concerned. It was the same calm, gentle expression he always wore when listening to someone speak their heart. He was just letting her know he was there for her, whatever it may be.
"He said I'm pregnant."
After she spoke she bit her lip, her eyes scanning his face anxiously as realization slowly set in. His own eyes widened, sparkling like a set of amethysts as his lips began to part.
"Isabelle..." then, his face spread into a wide smile, "That's wonderful news!"
She finally set her cup down, nodding at him.
"I was worried that you wouldn't be ready," she admitted.
"Is that why you seemed nervous? True, having a baby is a huge deal. It's going to change our lives forever. But there isn't anyone else in the world I'd rather go on that journey with than you."
She smiled sweetly, "Jun..."
"I gave you my old journal a while back. I never asked you if you read it or not, but I wrote a lot about how it was one of my biggest dreams to find the love of my life, settle down, and have a family with them. You've made that dream come true. I feel like the happiest person alive."
He held her then, hugging her tight as she wrapped her arms around him. He spoke softly in her ear, his voice tinged with joy.
"No matter what, I'm always here for you. You can count on me and come to me for anything you need. I'll always be there for you..."
He pulled away then, resting a palm against her stomach as he continued, "...For both of you."
She smiled, tears stinging the corners of her eyes. Damned hormones.
"Thank you, Jun."
Jun wiped the tears from her lashes, giggling and smiling gleefully as he pressed his forhead against hers before kissing her. The tea long forgotten.
---------------
The next few months were a blur. She was still able to do her usual farming, adventuring, and exploring initially, but there were a series of long discussions about what would happen as she got further along. Exploring and adventuring would be out of the question, especially alone in places that were dangerous and riddled with monsters. She would receive help from different people in town when it came to her farm. At the very least, helping her water crops and keep them alive for the few months that she was ordered to keep hard labor to a minimum.
The time she didn't spend farming she spent gathering baby supplies, picking out names, and nesting her home so that everything was perfect for when baby came. She had already discussed with Jun the high possibility of having multiples. After all, it was fairly common for an Amari to have at the very least two or three, though not always, especially with hybrid pregnancies.
It didn't matter, Jun was a ball of excitement either way. Every time he thought of their future together or saw her stomach steadily getting bigger, it filled his heart with so much joy.
Everyone around town was buzzing with excitement when they heard the news. After all, in a town so small, it was always a matter of celebration when someone was growing their family and adding new little ones to the town of Sun Haven.
Catherine offered her healthy snacks and herbal remedies to help with any ailments she might be dealing with throughout her pregnancy. Kitty knitted onesies, complete with snaps on the back just in case they were born with tails. And Liam offered her so many hand-me-downs from his sisters, delighted that they might be put to use instead of adding to all the clutter in his small home.
She felt so safe and comforted by the people of Sun Haven, welcoming her and her baby with open arms and so much warmth. It often brought her to tears, and there was always a warm hand on her shoulder comforting her until the mood swing passed.
As she approached her due date, Jun made sure to keep his schedule more open so that he could spend more time with her, excited for the baby and wanting to take care of her as much as possible. Her back was often sore and she had gotten clumsier the bigger her belly got, which was quite large. Dr. Wornhardt suspected twins at least.
There were moments where she was nervous about motherhood or about the birth, and Jun was always right there comforting her.
"I'll be there with you the whole way. No matter what happens, we have each other."
Then, one day she was on her farm, tending to a few simple tasks like watering flowers and feeding the chickens when suddenly a rush of warm fluid soaked her pants. It had felt odd, almost like a rubber band snapping inside her. Right away she knew what it meant.
Luckily, Jun was in her home making some tea for when she came inside so that she didn't get dehydrated. When she entered her kitchen he turned to greet her, then saw the large damp patch covering her lower half. He stopped what he was doing and made his way over towards her, his voice as gentle as ever.
"Oh, did you have an accident sweetheart? That's okay. I'll help you get cleaned up."
"No, Jun. Actually, I'm pretty sure my water just broke."
Jun had been taking her hand, wrapping his arm around her waist to lead her to the bathroom when he paused.
"Wait, really?"
She nodded, and Jun smiled. Sure, there were nerves, but he couldn't contain his excitement at the thought that he would finally meet his little one soon. He took her face in his hands, kissing her and pressing his forehead to hers.
"Alright, make yourself comfortable, okay? I'll help you get changed then I'm going to run and tell Wornhardt. Will you be okay until I get back?"
She nodded once more, "I'll be fine. You don't have to help me change, I can do it myself. Besides, I'm going to hop in the bath anyway and rinse off."
He nodded, still helping her to the bathroom anyway and holding her hand as she stepped out of her wet pants. He didn't leave until the bath was running and he knew she safe and cozy in the tub. Then, he rushed out and jogged towards the hospital.
When Jun returned he immediately went to her side, seeing her hunched over the side of the bathtub gripping the edge for dear life. Her breathing was heavy and she was moaning in pain. Jun tucked her hair out of her face, though it was sweaty and stuck to her forehead.
"It's okay. I've got you. Remember to just breathe."
Jun breathed with her for a moment, helping her get back into the rhythm until the contraction passed. When she was more clear headed he gave her the news.
"You did so great, baby. I'm sorry I wasn't here when it started. Wornhardt will be here any moment. Let's get you out of the bath and into something nice and comfortable, alright?"
She nodded, feeling a little sick. Once she was out of the bath Jun helped hold her hair back while she was sick in the toilet, rubbing her back in soothing circles.
Afterwards, he helped her get on a cool, silky nightgown and coze up in the bed while he set up the bath for her water birth. She knew right away that she wanted a home birth, feeling much more comfortable in her space than in a hospital, but the water birth had been Jun's suggestion. He had read that it can help mothers experience less pain and feel more in control, and after some discussion with Wornhardt about the pros and cons of different birthing methods she had decided to go with it.
When Wornhardt finally arrived he was with a birthing assistant, someone from the hospital to help with the overall process. The assistant took over setting up the bath so Jun could be by Isabelle's side. He sat by the bed and held her hand while Wornhardt checked her dilation.
"Everything seems to be going along smoothly. You still have a ways to go, so just hang tight for now. My assistant and I will make sure everything is ready by the time active labor begins."
Jun was grateful that he had read so many books to prepare for this moment. He had read every pregnancy and parenthood book the library had to offer, so thankfully he wasn't left in the dark about any part of the process. It helped put his nerves at ease so he could better support her.
As time went on her contractions slowly started to get longer and stronger. She went for a walk around the farm and let Jun massage her lower back when the pain got too intense. After a couple hours, Wornhardt checked her cervix again to reveal that she was dilated past 6cm, and her labor would start to progress much faster now.
As the contractions became unbearable she held onto Jun's hand tight, struggling to breathe properly as the pain encompassed everything inside her. That's when they decided to move her to the bath, hoping the warm water would help soothe the pain, even just a little.
Things increasingly got more intense. Soon, the contractions almost felt like more than she could take. She was so grateful that they would eventually pass, but when she was in the midst of a particularly bad one, it felt like it would go on forever. Momentarily, she worried that not opting to be in the hospital was a bad idea. What if something went horribly wrong? What if she really couldn't take the pain?
Jun eventually got in the bath with her, holding her hand through contractions and helping put pressure on her lower back to relieve some of the pain. With him there she started to feel more at ease. He constantly gave her encouragement and reassurances, telling her she was strong and that she could do this. It filled her with a renewed sense of vigor.
In the end, she appreciated his support in massaging her and encouraging her from inside the tub, but ultimately she felt more comfortable with him being outside of the tub when things started to really kick into gear. He was happy to help her any way he could, still holding her hand tightly and offering her encouraging words from just outside the bath. Soon, it was finally time to push.
"Wornhardt... I feel an urge to push."
Wornhardt was putting on a fresh pair of gloves as he came over to the birthing pool.
"I'd say that sounds about right for how far along you are. Go ahead and listen to your body. If you feel an urge go ahead and push. When the contraction passes you're free to take a break."
She cried out as she bore down and began pushing, feeling like she might break Jun's hand. The pain was incredible. Unlike anything she had ever felt before, but it was as though her body knew exactly what to do about it. She didn't feel scared and helpless like she thought she would. She felt completely in control, allowing her body to give her the right signals and following them accordingly.
As the contraction died she caught her breath, panting heavily while Jun wiped her forehead with a cool cloth.
"You're doing so well, baby. You've got this. Just a little more," Jun cooed by her ear.
As the next wave of contractions hit she began pushing again, everything feeling more intense this time around. Luckily, Jun knew exactly what to do without her even needing to say anything. He was calm, supportive, and let her lean her head against him when the fatigue got to be too much.
"The head is starting to crown. Jun, would you like to see?" Wornhardt asked, reaching into the pool.
Jun nodded. He didn't let go of Belle's hand as he scooted around the tub, peering into the water and seeing one of the most amazing sights he'd ever seen in his life. All he could think about was the awe and respect he had for his love, and the excitement that the baby was almost here. He could literally see them. Soon, they'd be in his arms.
"Give me one more good push, Belle," Wornhardt encouraged.
She cried out loudly as she did so, her scream filling the room yet barely being processed by anyone as the whirlwind of events followed suit. The baby came out and Wornhardt caught them and brought them up above water in one swift motion. He set the baby against mom's chest, and her arms wrapped around them tight as she caught her breath.
Jun was simply mesmerized. His face lit up and he was right back at Belle's side, reaching his arm out towards the baby as it took its first breaths. Overcome with joy, all he could do was press his head against Belle's and stare at the little bundle in her arms. Wornhardt's assistant checked the time, wrote something down, then wrapped a towel around the baby's small body.
The assistant's voice was kind and gentle, "Do you mind if I take her? It seems you aren't done yet."
Isabelle nodded, reluctant to let her baby go but at the same time ready to get back to business. Jun watched longingly as his daughter was whisked away by the assistant, but he was soon distracted by the doctor.
"Jun, do you want to help me catch baby number two?"
Jun was ecstatic. Wornhardt gave him a quick set of simple instructions and Jun was at the ready as the next round of pushing quickly revealed baby number two into the world. This time, the process was much easier and faster than the first, and before he knew it the baby was sliding into his arms. Gently, Jun lifted them up out of the water, smiling gleefully as he set them on mom's chest.
A son and a daughter. Jun felt like the luckiest person who ever lived. Wornhardt let the two of them snuggle while he checked on the little girl. Afterwards, Jun helped cut their umbilical cords while Belle passed the placenta and got cleaned up and moved to the bed.
She was so glad to see that Jun wasn't squeamish or put off by any of it at all. He seemed enchanted. Like everything going on around him was exciting and beautiful, and she was the center of it all right up until their little bundles entered the scene.
Once all the excitement and flurry of medical processes passed it was just the four of them snuggling up in bed with a baby on each of their chests. Belle would fall in and out of sleep, smiling to herself each time she woke up and saw her little boy wrapped up safely on her chest, his fluffy black tail wiggling as it was swaddled in the blanket. Jun was cuddled in bed beside her, torn between staring at his daughter, his son, and his worn out lover whom he had fallen in love with all over again.
He couldn't be more thankful for the journey that their lives had blessed upon him, and he would do his best to show his family that every single day.

My Ted Lasso Re-watch: S2E1 (part 4)
Goodbye Earl
Okay, would you really let your dog pee on a memorial for another dog? Because I wouldn't.
Ted and Beard in a very intense game. How long have they been going for and how has Nate been able to keep count during the whole thing? Seriously, if I tried to do that I'd lose track after a few. (I'm not beating my ADHD allegations any time soon). But really, Nate is counting up to 442. How?
The little song and dance they did was cute. The three of them had to plan it out for her and that's just sweet. And it was Ted's idea, wasn't it?
Dr Sharon notices that the Americans are weird. Well, I'm glad someone does.
Even Higgins joins in on hating saying yips out loud.
Right from the beginning, Dr Sharon singles Ted out from the rest of the group. Everyone in that room (except Higgins) needs therapy, but Dr Sharon only focuses on Ted. Nate doesn't say anything and Beard is hiding in the corner. All the focus is on Ted.
Is Ted good at his job? Depends which part you're talking about. He's a crap football coach, but when it comes to helping people be their best, yeah he's damn good at that. Now if he was coaching American Football, he'd probably be great at that too. But the good thing about Ted is that he accepts help from others who know more than him, and isn't afraid to admit he needs it. Except when it comes to therapy.
1236, huh. Where have we heard that number before? Oh yeah, that's how much money Roy owes Phoebe.
Oh Dani, you precious raven haired golden retriever. Fix him, Doctor. We need him happy again.
Ted definitely feels kind of threatened by Dr Sharon. He's usually the one trying to help people and now someone else is doing it.
John might be fine, but Rebecca should want more than that. I love her epiphany on what she wants in a relationship. She went out with John because he's a nice, safe option. He probably won't hurt her. But that means she isn't getting what she really wants which is passion and vulnerability. She wants the opposite of Rupert, but also the opposite of John. Someone who won't hurt her, but isn't so safe that she is bored and settling.
John caught on quick to what was happing, but it's good that he's not bitter about it. And he's does find someone who is better suited for him than Rebecca, so he's happy in the end. It all works out.
Dani is singing again! We love to see and hear it. Even Ted crosses his fingers this time. No more yips for Dani though. FOOTBALL IS LIFE AGAIN!
Now everyone wants to see Dr Sharon. There's only so much Ted can do before a professional needs to come in. He can't help solve all their problems, but Dr Sharon can help in ways he can't. Ted just feels a little left out because he's always been that person to help people, despite the fact that he's the one that needs the most help.
Keeley taking accountability over what happened on the double date. If you don't know, Waitrose is the really expensive supermarket in the UK where if you're really trying to impress people, that's where you go.
And Roy is with the yoga mums, drinking wine and watching reality TV, a spin on Love Island, hosted by Fleur East, former X-Factor star.
Roy hates Jamie, but the yoga mums love him. You're going to need more wine, Roy.

Babylon 5 S01E10: Believers
First
Previous
ToC
Child: "Am I going to die?" Parent: "If it is written in the streams of time, Shon, it will be so."
I hope that in their culture, this is far more comforting than it would be in mine. Regardless, this caused my first out-loud laugh of the episode.
Another dark episode, I see. So far it feels like it's JW/Faith Healer-criticism focused.
Idk how well I'm going to do with this episode. I had an anti-healthcare parent who refused to get me medical treatment for many easily treatable problems, and some of them are still bothering me today. Hell, it's the reason I'm almost 30 and watching Babylon 5 while recovering from a quadruple 100% bone impacted wisdom tooth extraction. So my commentary might be a tad....hostile. For this episode.
Shit like this makes me hot under the collar. Children should be able to have medical autonomy over their bodies.
oh my god, the parents also don't let their kid watch secular educational or entertaining material. Wow. It's my family but aliens.
Doctor Franklin's soft and soothing bedside manner is the only thing keeping me from skipping this episode tbh.
I don't really care about the moral arguments of this back and forth. Fuck no. No debate. Parents don't own their children. Children deserve adequate medical care. Period.
This poor, afraid, tortured child. There were times I spent hours and hours and hours trying to control my breathing, not knowing if this would be asthma attack that killed me, knowing that if I was allowed to have an inhaler or go to the ER, I wouldn't have to wonder. Sometimes I blacked out and didn't know if I would wake up again. My adrenaline is rising.
Can we spend more time on Ivanova?
pfffft G'Kar won't help because they have nothing to offer the Narns. Londo won't, because research, committee hearings and paperwork cost money.
Nasty ass parent: "If it were your child, or even you yourself, how would you feel if the doctor of Babylon 5 wanted to perform an unwelcome procedure on you?" Kosh: "The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote."
That made me laugh for the second time this episode! Slightly hysterically, to be sure.
Delenn is SO sympathetic. "I cannot tell you how much all this troubles me," yeah cuz they wouldn't like the answer, I'm sure.
Sinclair, don't be stressed about this. The kid will die if their awful bigoted parents get their way. It's murder via slow, torturous death. The only thing I approve of so far is that Sinclair is speaking directly to the child.
"It's only a piece of industrial goo, but please don't tell Doctor Franklin I said so. He still believes it's an egg."
I may cry, that is so precious.
Poor brainwashed little child doesn't want to lose their spirit.
"I have to honor the beliefs of the parents," bullshit.
Awful. Everything about this is awful.
Now that the parents are crying I refuse to cry because they're fucking awful. Crying over a situation they could have fixed days ago.
YEAH GO DR FRANKLIN. He's already packed! And the surgical assistant is going to help, too. Now that's what I'm talking about! Fucking ethics!
If they write something fuckin dumb in like the kid's spirit escapes I'm going to be furious.
Their transparent masks crack me up. In the future, you can see each others faces during surgery. :P But what's stopping them from wearing hygienically transparent scrubs?
terrible terrible parents. There's a reason I'm an atheist.
Franklin: "Well if I have to take the responsibility then I claim the authority, too. I. Did. Good. And we both know it, and no one is gonna take that away."
Yep. Bravo.
Fuck I'm just so on edge. This episode is hard and bad for me.
They're taking the child and uhhh. Hope they won't kill the kid. "He needs to rest," "He will," is extremely ominous.
Goddamn it I hate being right.
"Sometimes doing the right thing doesn't change anything. It can drive you crazy."
True that.
I'm glad Ivanova had a nice time, at least.

REACTIONS TO EPISODE 2 - MIRUKO, THE NO. 5 HERO 💜🐇🌙
LAST EPISODE'S REACTIONS HERE!!
Once more, my reactions are not be taken all serious. Genuine reactions, but also played for laughs. Pictures will he included for any clarification of whatever scene I'm talking about, but I also don't intend to put a lot of pictures.
Also, given this is a Miruko episode, there will no doubt be a lot of Miruko love here. Anyone who follows my blog is well aware I adore her and she's my fave in the whole series (tied with Midoriya). With that said, if you have a problem with it, DO NOT PROCEED THEN! DON'T EVEN COMMENT IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY! DON'T CARE FOR THE SLANDER! WE ALL HAVE OUR FAVORITE CHARACTERS AND MIRUKO JUST HAPPENS TO BE MINE!
Onwards!!
I want to start off by saying, RIP to Johnny. He was just a little guy in a big world. You deserved better.
WHEN SHE DID THE KICK!! WHY IS MIRUKO SO BADASS?!
What reason did they have to show Johnny's corpse?! DEVASTING!
Alright, Doctor, I feel a little sorry for you. It's hard to see your life's work come crumbling in front of you... I still don't like you.
OP a banger as always!
She called him an old geezer. I'm sorry, that did tickle me. That little grin of hers.
Tumblr media
Real quick though, again, shoutout to Sayaka Kinoshita! Her voice acting for Miruko is AMAZING, she really embodies the power of her. I can't wait to hear Anairis Quiñones for the dub.
"I'll know once I kick him." PLEASE DO, QUEEN!!
"Capture Garaki." "I gotta kick him first." Miruko, I beg you, never stop being you.
Endeavor really out here offering Eraser Head to be his sidekick... okay, man recognizes potential, I guess??? Admittedly that was funny because of Eraser's response.
"No thanks. I need to take care of my lousy students." Putting that in my favorite quotes list!
Aizawa looks so done. And then Endeavor smirks at him. My guy...!
I'm glad the Nomus wear pants... but what about shirts? They don't get cold? Look, I'm already worrying about Kirishima and Tetsutetsu.
*shows the hero kids* MY BABIES!!!
Tumblr media
*shows Burnin* MY OTHER QUEEN!!! 💚❤️‍🔥
You know what, Bakugou by now wouldn't actually mind evacuating civilians since it means saving people. So to see him be agitated about it so... OOC for me, I'll admit, since CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It was played for comedy, but still. I mean reimagined him approaching a doorbell all calm like actually really chill, and then screaming "EVACUATE!!" because he would want people to get the stepping, hurrying up so they won't be in danger. I was actually confused at that part because I know that wasn't in the manga and I had to figure out where does that play at and it really was just a scene that was added in. It had to happen between chapter 359 and 370 theoretically, but I just imagined something different. 🤷🏿‍♀️
Okay, the little "mmmhmmm" sound that Crust makes? I want a whole audio compilation of that.
"They're all common soldiers. Poor things!" LIKE?! HELLO?! I honestly do feel sorry for the Nomus. *glares at AFO & the Doctor*
*Present Mic does his introducing of the quirk and character thing* Whoever made the decision for Mic to do that is a genius.
The Doctor pleading to Miruko about being the real one and she still insists on kicking him. Show him no mercy!!
I need Tomura to dress more like that!!! Wait... why does this feel like foreshadowing to me? *shivers in manga reader*
Tumblr media
Them High Ends!!!
It's gross but omg when she did the thing!! Miruko, what reason do you have to be so badass?
Tumblr media
THEY GAVE HER THE HALFTIME CUT!! THANK YOU THAT'S ALL I ASKED FOR LAST WEEK!!! 💜🐇🌙
MY BOY KAMINARI GOT ONE TOO?! HELL YES!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, I like Crust. This man has sympathy!
Thanks for the Nomu lesson!! I was a little curious about them and I know he didn't just name that Nomu "Woman".
*shows AFO in prison* He looks like he's in timeout... well he is.
DO NOT CALL TOMURA YOUR MASTERPIECE!! HE IS A HUMAN BEING THAT HAS YET TO CATCH A BREAK!! FIGHT ME!!
THE SCENE!! THAT SCENE!! I LOVE YOU MIRUKO!!! 💜💜💜
Tumblr media
LUNA RING!! LUNA FALL!! OMG THE WHOLE FIGHT SCENE WHERE SHE'S JUMPING AROUND DOING FLIPS AND THE MUSIC!!! THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! 😭💜🐇🌙 DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN I MAKE GIFS OF THIS!!!
WHEN SHE RIPPED HIS HEAD OFF!! THAT'S FOR HER DAMN ARM!!!
"Zombies won't be able to kill the hero, Miruko!" TELL ME WHY SHE'S NOT #1!!! I'M DONE, I CAN'T!! SHE'S TOO MUCH OF A BAD BITCH AND I JUST CAN'T DEAL!! OMG!!
Tumblr media
Damn, ya'll actually still walking through the forest? I really thought the action started with ya'll too already.
Cementos' face though in this shot. Hee hee. Why is that funny to me?
Damn, Edge Shot is so pretty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love it when Sero just doesn't deal with Mineta. "Stand up." I love you, Sero.
Tumblr media
How many cat folks do we have in BNHA?!
Scratch that (unintentionally pun), how many animal themed folks we have in BNHA?!
Jiro worrying about Kaminari... 😭😭😭
Omg, Kaminari freaking out (relatable) and Midnight and Tokoyami reassuring him... 😭😭😭
Skeptic is the bravest soul I know because ain't no way I would be running with an OPEN LAPTOP and typing on it at the same time without the fear of dropping it.
First off, Skeptic, do NOT blame Twice for anything! DO NOT!
Oh, shit, we got Kaminari's evil uncle in the building!! (They aren't really related... but it's funny this is the third person I have seen have yellow and black hair like Kaminari. He even got the bolt.)
Okay, Cementos! You go, boy! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
THAT SCENE!! THAT KAMIJIRO SCENE!! MY HEART!!!
THE TOKOKAMI SCENE!!! MY HEART!!!
Tumblr media
ALRIGHT, KAMINARI!!! THAT'S MY BOY!!! YES!!! YES, KING!!!
Tumblr media
I love that this episode gave my Miruko and Kaminari badass moments. Today has been a good day.
Let me just say this because personally, I feel this does need to be said. We all have our opinions and whatnot, but sometimes I feel like 98% go into watching and reading something with a critical mind first. Go into watching and reading something with the purpose to be entertained before you decide to criticize something. Otherwise, you will ruin the experience for yourself and not enjoy the moments you wanted to.
Like I wasn't going into watching this episode to critique it. I went in first with the excitement to see Miruko, Kaminari and the others. I want to be entertained first and then I'll go back and critique if I wanted to. Enjoy and then critique. You don't have to enjoy it, no, but seriously REMEMBER THIS IS FICTION! TREAT IT AS SUCH!!
Overall opinion, I did enjoy what I watched, but the only thing that bothered me was the Bakugou scene, I mean I feel like that whole scene didn't even need to be there. Yes, including taking Iida, Midoriya, Koda, Uraraka, Asui and Todoroki out, so be it. *narrows eyes* Honestly, someone at BONES has to have some personal vendetta against Katsuki. Not the whole studio, but just someone. If it was the whole studio, let's be honest, there wouldn't have been that scene where Katsuki told the kid about looking at his own flaws before judging others two seasons ago or last season with the whole Team Bakugou vs Team Tokage episode. I have already prepared myself for all the unnecessary moments like Bakugou being agitated because it's not nothing new and it won't stop.
Reminder though, this is the season where THAT SCENE happens and us manga readers know better. I feel like that's important. There will never be the stopping of character mistreatment be it from the inside or from antis and as people who are fans of Bakugou (or just any character who gets this treatment), let's remind ourselves that we know the original source (the manga and Horikoshi) and we know how it supposed to be and we just continue enjoying Bakugou content that is enjoyable.

intersex-support · 11 months
Note
Hello! I have been questioning whether I am intersex for a while now, I'm feeling alittle lost.
I don't think I can bring this up to my mother since I don't have the greatest relationship with her, and she's not very accepting. I am also afraid that if I bring this topic up with a doctor that they'll dismiss me, I've had not the greatest experience with doctors - they don't seem to listen to me.
I've been following intersex people on social media and learing more and more about about intersex people and the community, and I relate with a lot with their experiences. But I just still feel lost, and I don't really know what to do or where to start in terms of trying to confirm whether I am intersex or not. Most things cost money and I don't have much.
It would be greatly appreciated to get some advice :D
Hi anon!
I'm sorry to hear that your mom isn't accepting and that you've had bad experiences with doctors. You absolutely deserve to have people who listen to you and support you, and I know how difficult it can be to try to navigate intersex diagnosis with all these barriers in place. It makes sense that you'd be feeling lost with where to go from here, especially when there isn't a ton of information out there about intersex variations!
What I would suggest is to start by reading through this glossary of intersex variations, and seeing which descriptions line up with your symptoms/traits. If there's a variation or multiple variations that line up with your experiences, you can start searching online for information on the specific variation. A lot of hospitals have basic information pages on different variations, and there are also some organizations that focus on specific diagnoses. Alongside looking up information about different intersex variations, you can try to gain more information about your medical and childhood history. I know that your mom isn't accepting and it might not be possible, but even just asking questions about if you had any medical problems as a child, things like that, might help you get more information. If you can access your medical record, looking to see if you've ever gotten hormone tests, if you've ever gotten surgeries, if there's any weird discrepancies in your medical record where things don't make sense, or any other signs of intersex variations.
I'm glad that following intersex people on social media has made you feel less alone, and I hope that you're able to find some answers and get an idea of the next steps you might want to take.
Best of luck, anon!
