Robots & Gardens Part 3

Everything is a draft and will be subject to change later and there will be grammar mistakes. My usual spiel XD It's been a while huh. The document was giving me hell when I finished typing this up. Finishing up this chapter as most of you voted for in the make me write tag game/poll. You can find the previous parts here -> 1/2/

The screen mounted on the wall had quickly came to life beginning to play the hyper cinematic news. Broadcasting it through the old scratchy speakers within the room.

“Tonight we show live coverage from the newest competitor from among the largest manufacturers. A multi-millionaire approaching even higher realms of wealth and possibilities. Tonight this man of many accolades speaks for all of us.”

He didn’t look like what Green would imagine a multi-millionaire to look like. It was just some pasty white dude with the sleeker pair of teched glasses and neon nail polish, oh, and a sad mustache. The older pairs felt like a couple of cell phones taped to your head. She knew because she’d stolen a few pairs easy. You could always tell the newer ones cause the color didn’t flake off the frames. His bright nail polish glittered as he covered his grinning mouth with his hand.

“Thanks for having me and for the lovely introduction. We are in the process of merging with the very notable manufacturer of Justice Robotics.”

Green felt the forehead wrinkles forming briefly pausing in her idle roaming. Maybe she shouldn’t have grabbed Peace from the protests today but the money was too good to turn down. The threat this client offered against all Peace’s protestors was worse. She knew Peace could handle herself but she didn’t have the skills to console Peace if her protestors got ran through. That newbie richie’s words sounded like an absolute disaster in the making.

A long running manufacturer that makes a majority of the bullshit and a new company known for elaborate coding and mimicked products. She lifted her knife from the holster and acknowledged the weight in her hand. Twirling her knife in her hand as she returned to her idling. Ignoring the lingering odor double fisting her nostrils with her best efforts. Frustrated that the smell didn’t seem to care about the woman’s position. This crew was soon to be hers. She was tough. She provided for those that she could. It didn’t matter that it involved breaking a multitude of laws.

“In this move, we will be consolidating our products and efforts. We will even destroy two of our old headquarters in this locale to replace it with sustainable land.”

Green rolled her eyes. Sounded like a lie. Though if there even was a follow through, they’d still have to throw tons of money at those damn filters. The same stupid filters that newbie’s company made. She mumbled aloud to herself about Peace’s future rants about how funding for this destruction would come right out of the actually important parts of the education efforts. Green wasn’t sure if she’d just be an open ear or mention that the education efforts didn’t do much for the both of them anyway.

She grunted to herself ignoring the shuffling feet of crew members shoving old shirts into the drafty windows. The smog lately had been atrocious. Green had forced her crew and Peace to use masks. Her thoughts refocused to the wealthy man babbling; maybe centering the rich idiots will make less interference and more business.

“Is this a countermeasure to the smog covering oldtown locale? How have your backers felt about these decisions?” The reporter asked.

He laughed, and it made the speakers rattle, “One can consider it that. My backers are enthused by the new move! They encourage actions like these.”

“We’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on this. From workers, citizens, and fellow manufacturer owners. Is there anything you would like to say to sway them?”

“Don’t fear change! We guarantee this move will improve air quality and all products leaving our facilities! Our companies’ profits will merge but outstanding payments will be handled from separate funds. Allowing for wages to remain as they were.”

Green continued to twirl her knife catching a new glint on the screen. The overbearing lights of their news set brought attention to a wedding band on the rich man’s slender fingers. Blinking as the screen flickered off.

“Be prepared. We might have to house the protestors after this news.” She stated, slipping her knife back into the holster.

A muffled laugh slipped past a crew member. Older. Their gray hairs sprinkled throughout their exposed chest hair. They tossed the remote aside and nudged Green. A damp shirt tossed over their shoulder, ready to fill in any gaps in their crumbling safehouse.

“After this stunt. We’ll probably be getting all kinds of wild calls.”

Green grunted in affirmation. “Yeah, and I’m sure a shit ton will ask us to murder innocent protestors.”

“They hate people that oppose their goals.” They put a hand up to hush Green and hurled the shirt at the head of a fellow member.

The shirt landed with a wet slop. Proceeding to hang off of the victim's head.

Green snickered, “Good aim. Don’t think we should cause any damage before we have to run around like wild men. Jus’ like you said. We’ll have work coming for us.”

The wet shirt returned, hitting their shoulder. They clambered to grab it before it hit the floor. Holding it against their thigh before tossing it back up into their hand.

“Tough guys gotta goof off before the serious jobs hit.”

“This is a serious job. We can’t let the smog fuck up everyone inside too. We got kids in the building.” She unbuttoned her sleeves, carefully rolling them up, “I’m gonna see if I can shake out the filters or something.”

The engineer sat on the floor, squinting at the laptop that sat on her knee. One hand keeping it balanced there. She viewed the video data that Donnie had left for her about their tagging incident. Well attempted. The video was fucking butchered. It was grainy, one, but then it would crash after a few minutes. She’d blame it on the tag itself if the video hadn’t been distorted from the start. Hollis was doubtful she could restore something like this. Or if it was even worth it to do so. She tried not to let it frustrate her. But who was ever chill about the tech they made not working with them?

Donnie was obviously an important person, she could tell that easily. The cyborg’s shirt was smooth– silky, and it was patterned. A dress shirt that she knew cost more than her weekly snack runs. Even if she had a tendency to apply the shove it in her pockets discount. Though she wondered how an important person could have such high-end tech go so long without upgrades. Without checkups. The man was a cyborg. Basic maintenance could be life or death. So could the tagging incident. She stared blankly at the corrupted video data.

Digits kicked the door, arms still out of commission. She had enticed her helpful roommate to stay back with the exaggerated imagery of what might happen to her arms as they got worked on. Brian had looked queasy by the time she mentioned the pain has made her vomit and then crumple into a pile on top of it. She had gone in to bash the door with another swift kick, jumping when Hollis swung the door open.

Hollis leaned against the door frame, carefully eyeing the woman. She caught sight of bronzing knuckles beneath artificial skin and grimaced. Not noticing the confusion on the woman’s face.

“Can I come in?”

Hollis nodded and chewed on her cheek. She moved aside to let the woman in.

“How long have you had those prosthetics?”

Digits’s face scrunched in distaste. The engineer didn’t know if it was from the question or the answer.

“Maybe six years. Something like that.”

Hollis nodded silently and lifted one of Digit’s arms. Concern filled her eyes as she glanced up at the woman. Careful to not let her gaze linger longer than necessary. Though she had failed at that one.

“I realize my prosthetics are an older beta model. Can you fix this or not?” Digits snapped, wanting nothing more than to snatch her hand back from the engineer.

Hollis released Digit’s hand hastily. She only asked the questions out of necessity but she understood how this situation was not the best for easing the mood. Though she knew this Hollis still grimaced. She placed her hand on Digits’s shoulder and pushed her down into a chair.

“Let me put my contacts in and get my tools,” Hollis shot a smile with too many teeth irritated, “Unable to move both arms? Any feeling in them at all?”

Digits grunted when her ass hit the chair. Arms hanging limp at her sides. Hollis felt Digits’ eyes on her back. Unbothered by the feeling. More on edge that she’d actually have to have as good vision as possible to not fuck Digits up more. This wasn’t a squint and hope for the best kind of job. So Hollis sucked in a breath and held her eye open with one hand before dropping a couple eyedrops in. Repeating this in her other eye. She popped open the case to her contacts slipping them in with ease. She blinked aggressively towards the wall until the contacts tinged her brown eyes blue. Waiting for Digits to answer.

Digits pressed herself against the back of the chair. Ignoring the quiet creak of protest that sounded at the movement.

“Nope, I can’t move them at all. Sort of, it’s just nulled a ton.”

Hollis tossed her tools onto the table and approached Digits. She lifted both of the woman’s hands picking at the artificial skin with her thumbnails.

“Well, you won’t feel what I’m gonna do to you then. I’m guessing your arms giving out wasn’t sudden. You have a tell.” Hollis’s eyes scanned over the prosthetic unamused, popping a marker from her overalls breast pocket.

“Usually a tingle in the back of my neck. Like anxiety shakes.”

Hollis trialed the marker down her three prosthetic fingers on both hands. Pressing hard on the back of her hand to try to find where the rest of the machinery was located. Mumbling to herself as she circled the woman’s wrists. She felt more artificial skin as she traveled up the woman’s forearms, following it with the marker.

“Whoever installed your prosthetics were idiots,” Hollis stated matter of fact, not marking again until she reached the back of the woman’s neck.

“And that means it’ll make your job harder won’t it?”

“Correct.”

Digits sighed loudly, feet tapping impatiently on the floor. Watching one of Hollis’s smaller bots zoom past their feet.

“I can do a temporary fix that should keep you in better shape than now. But it won’t stop the lockups. I’ll have to install a new cable in an attempt to reduce some of the stray charges. If they implanted a supplemental chip to assist with faster readings there’s a chance it’s just being overloaded.”

“Shit. That sounds expensive.”

“You’ve got me working on an old beta that didn’t survive a year past the testing stages. The fix up is gonna be expensive. I’ll just take whatever you have on you. Any more and I’d be robbing you.”

“Sounds like bullshit.”

“More shit than your prosthetics,” Hollis quipped back, “Don’t talk down on my kindness if you want somewhat functioning arms for your day job.”

Digits shot the engineer a thin lipped smile. Looking away from the engineer as she did her job. She probably deserved that. Hollis nodded accepting that silence as an answer. She scrapped off all of the woman’s artificial skin. Sighing at the mess that rested in front of her. She placed both of Digits’ arms on the table and got to work.

Shuichi Harem: Saihara Detective Agency, 1/5

Considering I ran 3 polls at once... It'll be interesting to pump these out. lol To make it fair to the winners of each poll, I'll spread out the posts - I'll do a Danganronpa first. Then Fate: Stay Night's winners (a 3-way tie, unbelievable. XD). Then Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. And I'll cycle through the harem members like that, keep the love spread around. n___n

So you won't see these collections "complete" for a while. Danganronpa has 5 girls to get through, Fate has 7 girls, and Rain Code has 7 girls. Why'd I give Shuichi a smaller harem? ... Personal preference. XD These are all ships that I support, mind you. Every single girl on those polls. I might not ship some girls as strongly, but I allow them. ... You'll know when I don't ship something period. I'll make a lot of noise about it. XD

This first one was... very borderline. I'm just very neutral about this one. It's not an unhealthy couple, so... I can't throw it out with the bathwater. She's a fan favorite, but she's not one of mine. Oh well. I felt like giving back to the community anyway. Never say I don't do nice things for you guys. (人◕ω◕)

This particular Danganronpa series will be... unique. Very different from the canon. I'll preface this by asserting that I've integrated V3's universe into the main Danganronpa universe; none of Chapter 6's "it's all fiction!" crap. (人◕ω◕)*** V3's Class as such is Class 79, and the Tragedy essentially happened in Class 78's second year as such. It's pretty much in line with canon, timeline-wise... That's just in case you guys needed a clarification on that. The other main clarification is that Junko didn't mess with this batch. There's a different Mastermind involved, and I won't spoil that too much. I will talk about their days at Hope's Peak, and the subsequent, er... games Class 79 are involved in.

Aren't Flashback Lights lovely? (人◕ω◕) Junko never put people through multiple Killing Games, screwing with their minds. Junko-chan was merciful. (人◕ω◕)

But enough fanfare~... Let's get right to it. (人◕ω◕)

The Beginning

So, first a little background~

By the time Class 79 arrived at Hope's Peak, the protests were ongoing. The Student Council was dead, and the Reserve Course was protesting for a little over half a year after that tragedy - before Class 79 showed up, anyway. The academy, more specifically the Steering Committee, wanted to save face. If they tried arranging for the police to come and arrest the offending Reserve Course students on trumped up charges, that would only bring the media further down on their heads. Better to let the ingrates parade around the front of the campus and make it a battle of attrition.

So what does the academy decide to do? Carry on business like usual. Twist Kizakura's arm to keep the recruitments coming. Eventually, sixteen students were scouted (or picked in a lottery, as is the yearly tradition with the Ultimate Lucky Student) to attend as the 79th Class. Kaede was scouted as the Ultimate Pianist, and boy did she feel honored to have Hope's Peak recognize her talents! She didn't think her hobby was on the same level as these other Ultimates...

... But Hope's Peak wasn't the glamorous paradise that they advertised it to be. Those riots outside the gates were unsettling to say the least, and her class had to be escorted onto the main campus to avoid any "accidents'! How crazy is that?! The Headmaster or faculty wouldn't even tell them what was going on!! Those Reserve students were so angry...! She'd even say they were murderous when they saw Class 79 get admitted onto the main campus...

Still... Kaede did what she could to adjust to her new life as an Ultimate. For those first few weeks, Class 79 didn't so much "bond" as collectively worry about the Reserve Course students. It's difficult to pretend life was normal with such ominous tension hanging in the air, day in and day out. For her part, Kaede stayed in the music room and played the piano repetitively to keep her mind off her anxieties. Their classes, if there were any, were pretty short and concise. And even so, Kaede didn't have to attend class. So long as they honed their talents, the students could do whatever they pleased, including ditch class.

So Kaede stuck to the music room as much as possible. Went down for meals and to rest in the dorms, but her priority was drowning herself in playing the piano. She didn't want to close her eyes to the world, bury her head in the sand... But what was she supposed to do? Hope's Peak wasn't giving them answers, the riots were growing worse by the day, and their senpai... all those upper classes... If the students weren't just plain eccentric and goofy, they were, frankly, suspicious... and Kaede had a bad feeling about them. There was just something... off... about Class 77-B.

Kaede couldn't ignore her own classmates forever, though. As tightly wound up as she was, the pianist did want to try reaching out to them... Or at least the nicer ones. Kaito was a chipper guy to be around, even if he could be a bit dense. Rantaro took some getting used to, but the guy had a number of stories to share about his adventures around the world, searching for his sisters. Tsumugi and Himiko were a bit... obsessed with anime/manga and magic, respectively, but Kaede could admit she wasn't much better with her piano. Angie was nice... but there was definitely some culture shock with that one. Who asked others to donate a pint of their blood like it was no big deal?! Who?!

Gonta was a big teddy bear. Tenko was overly excitable, and was a massive fangirl for Himiko. Kirumi was zealously polite and insisted on taking care of everyone, handling their needs... Ryoma was a bit closed off, but he was a chill guy to be around. Miu was... Miu. Kaede didn't hang around that chick too often. Korekiyo was as cordial and professional as Kirumi, and as widely travelled as Rantaro if not moreso... But something about the guy gave Kaede the heebie-jeebies, so she stayed away. Maki, like Ryoma, was closed off and wasn't telling any of them what her talent was. Kiibo-kun was pleasant to be around - apparently his father was a researcher at Hope's Peak, so he'd been there on campus longer than any of them... But Kiibo-kun's story was sad. Kaede felt so sorry for him, that he needed to replace his failing human body parts with robotic pieces... Kaede constantly made sure that he was alright, but it was clear that the pianist was overstaying her welcome a bit. At the very least, she was an overprotective mother hen.

... Kokichi was a little turd. Kaede would have preferred interacting with the nefarious prankster as little as possible, but unfortunately that wasn't possible. All because of who Kokichi hung around the most.

Shuichi Saihara... Poor guy had more self-confidence issues than Kaede did. As the Ultimate Lucky Student, Shuichi didn't feel like he belonged at the academy. Because even his luck... seemed to be a rare occurrence. It wasn't as obnoxious as Nagito-senpai's, or as attention-grabbing as Makoto-senpai's. Kaede isn't even sure how she could describe it; things just go Shuichi's way, but not in an obvious manner. Like, he'll drop something and not realize it... But he'll find it pretty quick, once he's realized the item's gone. And it's more than just finding stuff he's misplaced - Shuichi himself admits that his "luck" has proven helpful to his Uncle's private detective agency. Whenever he investigates, he'll find the truth... But sometimes, solving the case doesn't lead to a happy ending. Kaede can tell it's not just self-confidence issues; Shuichi carries some scars with him, buried deep down.

Maybe that's why that jerkwad Kokichi hangs around Shuichi so much. He can tell the Lucky Student is lying about how he's really feeling... But instead of prying the truth out of him like a normal person would do, Kokichi drags Shuichi around on "playdates" and other frivolous outings (a lot of the time in the middle of the night...!), pretending everything's hunky-dory. ... Kaede doesn't like it, but she's not so cruel as to pick at old wounds, as much as she'd rather help Shuichi get over past tragedies... So in a way, perhaps Kokichi isn't completely off-track... It still grates at Kaede to even admit that privately, though.

So Kaede goes a roundabout way of helping out her new friend. She approaches Kyoko-senpai and asks her to take Shuichi on as... an apprentice. It's a tall order, and Kyoko-senpai is barely more approachable than Maki about... anything... Senpai insists that she doesn't have the time to take on a pupil - much less someone who's turned his back on detective work out of "shame"... Kaede doesn't understand that Kyoko has a hard time considering this favor because Shuichi is pretty much in her father's shoes, and Kyoko doesn't know how to make him reconsider... Much less feel like it's her place to force a career onto Shuichi.

But once Kaede drags him over to meet Kyoko, the luckster can see the lilac-haired girl embodies the spirit of a "true" detective... Cold, clinical, detached... And yet there's something about her that stirs Shuichi's own "detective spirit" up. Something along the lines that... he doesn't want Kyoko to be alone, to completely commit her soul to the career and throw away her humanity. Shuichi believes it's arrogant of him to assume he knows anything about this, that he has any right to dictate how Kyoko should live... But he can't help thinking that he's right... Because he holds shame for not satisfactorily resolving every single case up until now, and he believes Kyoko should keep in mind they are investigating people. That people have rights, that they shouldn't just ignore people's feelings... Yes, it's a conflict of interest. Yes, his Uncle has cautioned him to be more detached like Kyoko is... But Shuichi just can't. Restraining his emotions hurts. Most cases deal with peoples' lives - perhaps not always life-or-death, but finding missing people or lost pets... That's still dealing with peoples' lives. Shuichi feels if he closed off his emotions... he would cross way too many lines. All for the sake of finding "the truth". ... And he just can't do that.

Kyoko winds up taking Shuichi on as a trial run... And while his rampant emotions and outbursts are annoying for Kyoko to deal with, Shuichi may have a... point. About detaching yourself too much. On a number of cases, too much detachment made Kyoko too blind before it was too late... And while Shuichi wasn't able to resolve the cases in the manner he would have preferred, he still tried... And yes, it's annoying to keep Shuichi from falling apart after particularly distressing cases, but there's something about the boy that makes Kyoko keep him around. Perhaps part of it is keeping him from abandoning the profession like her father... But another part of it is that like Makoto, Shuichi keeps her grounded. Wrestling with emotions isn't Kyoko's idea of a good time... But she needs to at least do the bare minimum, if she doesn't want to bottle everything up and vent on her friends... What few friends she has left...

Life at Hope's Peak carries on for a few months, for Class 79... Kaede finds a stable routine in bonding with Shuichi, their classmates, and some of their senpai from the 78th Class... Kaede likes to think Shuichi becomes one of her best friends. And his apprenticeship with Kyoko has done wonders for Shuichi... Still critically low self-esteem, but he's coming to accept that despite being a "Lucky Student", he can be more than the title the academy bequeathed to him.

... Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to last. Eventually the Reserve Course peaked with their riots and stormed the main campus... And whilst planning an escape, Class 79... all got knocked out.

The Hazy Middle

Before Kaede, Shuichi, and Class 79 know it... 5 years pass them by. They literally aren't aware of it, being forced into "loops" that last a few weeks before starting over again and again... Their memories "tweaked" with every loop. Killings keep happening until there's only one or two left, or until a few of them beat the "Mastermind", and they start over again.

Kaede remains the Pianist of the group... But by now, Shuichi is the "Ultimate Detective". That's been the reality for several years now. Class 79 aren't aware they have a Lucky Student. Though he does his best to help solve the Killing Games, sometimes Shuichi is made the victim or even rarer times made the killer... Class 79 does not know about the loops. They keep living on in these Killing Games, forced to distrust each other and try to survive. Learning about each other again and again... Sometimes pushed into corners and being twisted into perverted versions of their natural selves...

Kaede doesn't know about the loops. And yet pretty consistently, she draws close to Shuichi almost every time. Old instincts kicking in, passionate feelings resurfacing~...

It took a year or two, going through these Killing Games... But once it started, once Kaede began to express romantic feelings for her best friend... The same phenomenon kept cropping up in subsequent loops. They endure this hellish torture of seeing their friends distrust each other, of wondering if they'll survive the Killing Game... Shuichi tries so hard to pin down the Mastermind. But sometimes he'll focus on saving Kaede and everyone he holds dear... Sometimes he forsakes that ultimate objective of unveiling the Mastermind... He doesn't completely understand why, but deep down Shuichi understands that before Class 79 came along... He was an empty shell. He understands that in his efforts to protect everything he loved... he lost it all. And it keeps happening again and again and again. Shuichi takes it hard when he can't protect people, and this carries over many loops. His past, even though he doesn't remember it all, leaks into his present self... And as a result, the Shuichi of the "here and now" is a very tired, very uncertain man... A man that isn't so sure he has the right to call himself a detective.

But just as the loops affect Shuichi, so do they affect Kaede. She sees the pain Shuichi holds, deep inside... And every loop she tries to be the inspiring best friend/assistant that Shuichi so desperately needs. It's not his fault these murders keep happening, and he's not some "sham" of a detective for not stopping crimes before they happen. They're... only human.

Kaede's often the first to be there for Shuichi, throughout the loops. Sooner or later there are other girls who gravitate towards the detective... And Kaede must accept there's others who hold Shuichi dear in their hearts. ... Even if she can have a jealous streak in her. Still, it must be said that because of their bond, Kaede stopped contemplating murder long ago... Doesn't even cross her mind as loops reset and she forgets everything. Monokuma makes it clear the trials are rigged in the survivors' favor... So even if she were to try murdering the Mastermind, it probably won't work out how she hopes it would. So Kaede doesn't even entertain the thought.

Because her friends need her. ... Shuichi needs her. They learn about each other again and again... Sometimes this bonding will even feel familiar to the Pianist... But it's why she keeps going for the detective, isn't it? Because having him as a friend feels right... He won't betray her. Not by choice.

The Killing Games result in a close bond between Kaede and Shuichi... But their relationship never really goes anywhere so long as the loops keep occurring. They fall in love again and again... But that love doesn't deepen. ... Not on the surface...

The Ending... or a new Beginning...?

Everything must come to an end, eventually... Even Killing Games. Class 79 will be saved... But the cost is steep. Their memories are messed up across five years, constant memory suppression and restoration... The human mind can only take so much.

The surviving members of Class 79... eventually end up in comas. There's no way to "ease" them into getting their memories back... At some point the dam will break and they'll get it all back anyway. So Future Foundation helps restore their memories... and their minds and bodies just shutdown as a self-defense mechanism from getting so much back at once.

It's not really known how much time passes... Weeks... Months... Years...?

Eventually, however, Class 79 will wake up once more. They'll need therapy to cope with so many "loops" of killing, being killed, seeing their friends dying... The survivors of Class 79 do not have an easy road ahead of them.

But if Kaede and Shuichi are among that number of people in the long, arduous process of healing... Perhaps someday they'll come to grips with their unstable past. Just maybe, they'll be able to live in a world that came back from the brink of disaster...

Perhaps they won't get a "grip" at all. 5 years of "Killing Games" isn't something that you can just... overcome. Pretend they never happened. What they do learn to do, however, is to bear that pain of the past and find immense relief that it's all over. Reconnecting with the rest of the world is... difficult. Shuichi, Kaede, and the rest of the Class 79 survivors almost expect to wake back up in the academy and to endure more "games"...

But as the months and years go by in their new lives... They accept the true finality. The Killing Games are over. ... But they are rather clingy to one another. The constant bombardment of their friends dying... They need constant reminders and proof that they're alive, no matter how far apart they may be.

Kaede tries to go with a professional career as a Pianist... But all that time of not really "progressing", of being stuck as a high school freshman, the bittersweet feelings being around a piano evokes... Kaede has a piano in her home that the Future Foundation graciously gave to her, but that's it. She can't bring herself to play professionally.

... Because if she carried on with such a career, she could never be sure of how Shuichi is doing. Kaede would worry herself sick about all her classmates if she carried on alone... So she helped Shuichi to form a new detective agency in a cozy town far removed from the big, bustling cities. She's not so much a detective herself, more like a secretary...

She thought that when she accepted Hope's Peak invitation that she might grow to like the famous reputation of the academy and enjoy a rich, lavish lifestyle... Instead, she attended that academy at such a turbulent time. When it was rife with corruption. She and her friends were robbed of a normal high school life... And here they are now, years later, with the world getting back into a sense of "normalcy". Kaede came to the understanding that being rich or famous or elite... It wasn't for her.

No, Kaede would rather have a fulfilling lifestyle of helping others. Of supporting the man she loves. She doesn't mind one bit being in a quieter town, of their agency taking on much less serious cases than murder... It's frankly a relief to not have to deal with such heavy incidents. Such cases will sometimes roll in... But there's more of a variety now. And Shuichi isn't alone in puzzling out these cases, he's got a few capable assistants... Kaede might be a little jealous as she's "just" a secretary... But to be fair, Kirumi and Maki are pretty qualified in different aspects...

At least Tenko empathizes with Kaede. ... And even though Miu is hired on as the tech whiz, Kaede believes herself more "useful" to Shuichi overall than that pervert. Really~! Kaede just "loves" working with these other girls so much~... Why does Shuichi hafta be "popular" like this? Kaede wants to know. ... For science. ... I thought some of the directing in the action scenes was odd and the music didn’t feel as well integrated/utilized as in past seasons.

If this season is consistently as good as this first episode, AOT will indeed end as a perfect masterpiece

ARE YOU HAPPY ABOUT THE CHANGE FROM WIT STUDIO TO MAPPA? 127 Responses

The Studio change from WIT Studio to MAPPA was a subject of much scrutiny and debate before the season’s release. With almost 61% showing some form of enthusiasm about a new studio’s take on the series. The opinion is not uniform, of course, with just over 18% stating their preference for WIT studio. Slightly less (17.3%) can’t give an answer yet and the rest don’t seem to care at all.

I wished MAPPA would make the latter episodes a little more vibrant and lessen the blur

mappa as some of my favorite shows (banana fish, yuri on ice, etc) so it was kinda cool to see they picked up AOT szn 4 ! i’m excitedly waiting to watch the next episode, (and with my ‘watch partner’ aka tumblr friend who discusses with me as we watch LOL).

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CGI TITANS? 127 Responses

If there’s one thing that’s rather controversial about the series’ animation adaptation, then it’s certainly the use of CGI (particularly when animating Titans). The opinion of the fanbase seems to be rather positive, nonetheless. 72.4% of responders gave the CGI some praise (be it more open or more reserved), while 18.2% were more negative about the use of CGI. At the bottom was 9.4% who stated that they preferred WIT’s style of CGI to the one utilized in the episode.

One of the grandest developments that came about in this episode is the fact that a 4 year time skip has occurred since the defeat of the Warriors in Shiganshina. Although there is a sizable minority expressing negative feelings (13.5%), the definitive majority is coming in with enthusiasm (70.6%). The rest are still thinking this change over.

wtf is going on? Who are these new people? Why are we supposed to care about them if they're from Marley? Where are the main characters? Yeah, I suppose Reiner and Zeke technically count as MCs, but there is an appalling lack of 104th characters that needs to be fixed asap!

As this episode introduced a lot of new characters, we got a colorful pie chart for this one. The plurality of responses (40%) chose the kind-hearted Falco, while 28% went with passionate Gabi. 14.4% chose the caring Colt and 13.6% went with the cool Jaw Titan holder. The last couple of responses picked out the stoic General Magath and the quiet Zofia. Poor Udo didn’t get a single vote!

I loved it. I love the new art style, my favorite scene was Gabi destroying the train, she's awesome. I really love Falco as well and Colt. Galliard's titan design is sick

When drawing comparison to Reiner and Zeke’s looks in the previous season, there was a clear favorite among the responses - Reiner, with 74%. Zeke had the preference of 15% and those who didn’t feel like either of them “went through a glow up” took 11%.

12 april 2013 Okay, just came home from my concert with D. I started listening to them 2008 and I used to listen to them every day the last months in Japan back then, when going back and forth between school. Now I've finally seen them live. And what a live it was!! It was a bit tricky to find my way, and when I was looking at a map when I was where I had thought it was (but it wasn't), a kind japanese woman in visual kei-ish clothes came up to me and asked "May I help you?" whereupon I answered that I can speak japanese, haha. I then said where I wanted to go, and, ofc, she was also going to D's live! So we went together. Thank you, kind woman, you were a great help!! There were Visual Kei, goth and lolita people EVERYWHERE. Holyyyyyyyy shit. Everyone were so beautiful!! Woah!!! It was my first time going to a visual kei concert in Japan (i've been to several in europe tho), and let me tell you that it was very different... Either way, the lady asked me if I had the flags with me, and I was like what flags? And well, I found out when they started, that they were all having flags... all people in the audience. Two little flags in black and red. And they were waving them in a very special pattern along with the music, and they knew EXACTLY when to do what move! It was... wow. Like when the hell did they practice that? In came all the band members one by one, recieved applauses, and went to their instrument... And last, came Asagi. My dear Asagi. The theme right now is Pirates, so he was dressed fully in a captain's goth pirate outfit, and was carrying a huge D flag. He was absolutely absolutely lovely. <3 <3 <3 During some other songs he also had a pistol that he pointed at us, hehe, and also a telescope that he pointed at us while saying "I can see you veery clearly..." omg. And at one point he also was carring a camera with the microphone, and at the back there was a projector where we could see, live, what he was filming! He used it especially when he had told us to do The Wave. He sweeped the camera over the crowd and the crowd would jump when the camera filmed them. I was on the second floor in the middle kinda, so I doubt I will be on the live DVD later, oh well. Either way, when they were playing normal songs that didn't use flags or stuff, all the people were still DANCING. In UNISON. They had little moves with their hands that they would do at certain points in the songs. ALL. OF. THEM. HOW DID THEY KNOW!? How did they know it all!? The lady who showed me the way said that someone of the band members had said on their twitter to people not to forget their flags, but seriously, what? Do I have to check their twitter to know that I should bring flags? Where am I even supposed to learn the silly little moves in each song? By going to all lives? Watching earlier live DVDs? XD It was absolutely hilarious, embarassing, boring and funny all at the same time. The moves were basically like crossing you hands in front of your chest, putting them up in the air, one hand in the air, and stuff like that. At first I thought they were way too silly, but after a while I joined in - it was better than doing nothing. Oh and they even had timed HEADBANGING at some points in some songs. Yeah. Lolitas headbanging. I never thought I'd get to see that. Needless to say I joined in a few times. But seriously, there were a lot of times when I felt like headbanging but it wasn't that point in the song and they were doing some other little silly dance in the audience, meh. I stood between two very petite little japanese girls in half-lolita clothes. They looked absolutely out of place, but they knew each silly dance by heart, wow. O_O; And one of them headbanged like I've never seen anyone headbang before, daaayumn gurl! Seriously, seeing so many people dance little silly upper-body-dances together to a Visual Kei band.... seriously. When the drummer were using both his feet on the big drum, the audience were like treading their hands in the air slightly... I felt so much like jumping and putting up my hands or something, but nooo, I had to tread my hands in front of me a little bit at the most hardcore parts of their songs. Meh! We also recieved a Rose Pen each at the entrance when we handed in our tickets, it was actually to fill in a poll thingie but I never did it (didn't have time afterwards as I rushed out to buy goodies)... and one song we used the Rose pens instead of the flags :D Finally I could join in, haha. I got a nice red Rose Pen. Oh, and, actually, since this was also a live where they released a new single, they of course played the new songs (the b-side too).... And then we had to use the flags (I used my hands), and Asagi actually showed us the dance. We practiced with him. It was so cute ;_; Perhaps that's how they learn the silly dances? Either way, the performance itself.... They played a lot of nice songs, and MY FAVOURITE SONGS!!!! OMG!!! Since they're in the Pirate theme now I never thought they'd repeat old songs, but YES they did! They played "Vampire Missa", "Yami yoru kurai doukoku no a capella etc", and "Der König die Dunkelheit" too!!!!! The last two there are two of my favourite songs, oh my god, I was so happy!!! I've seen them sing them live, oh my goooooooood!!! They were also having some videos playing on their backdrop, like a rose blooming and some other small stuff like that. One of the slower songs, they had the sky in the background and had a lot of smoke coming out. They were also talking quite a lot, mostly Asagi of course. Oh god his voice is so nice, I could listen to it forever and not get tired.... He was mostly talking about how grateful he is to all his fans and so on, since it was their 10th anniversary special premium live that I went to (thus why there were decided seats). Also at the end he passed around the mic to all the band members so they could say something each. They were mostly thanking us fans and saying how awesome it is to be able to see 10 years as a band. Asagi also said some beautiful words, like, "This moment only comes once. So make sure you appreciate this moment the most. Noone knows what comes in the future. Appreciate what you have now." or similar. I couldn't help but shed some tears, as that fits perfectly to what I feel right now... I also recorded a minute or two during the live. It wasn't allowed of course, and I will NEVER post it online ever, but I wanted desperately to savour the (most likely) only moment I'll see this awesome band live ever. There were no guards on the second floor and it was also kind of half-empty so I took my chance, mwehehhe. They also did like two or three encores, and before the first one, they had the Big Announcement that they had promised..... And the Big Annoucments, rolling on the screen, was a summer all-country tour, a SMARTPHONE GAME based on their Vampire Saga arc that will be out INTERNATIONALLY OH MYYY GOOOD, and also that they will sign with another label and go Major Label, omg!! So happy for them!! They were also PERHAPS hinting at a world live?? It's very possible at least. It was so fun to hear Asagi chuckle when he commented on the game later, haha. His laugh is so refined and beautiful, with a low and nice voice. <3 After another encore (they played the Vampire Saga themed songs then, like I said; Der König Der Dunkelheit and also In the name of Justice, since they had just announced the Vampire Saga mobile game), they came out with CHAMPAGNE!! (that you could buy afterwards too) and we all cheered for them as they celebrated with us. <3 As they went off stage (twice or thrice just to come back for another encore) they waved to us all, and Asagi pointed his microphone at us and we screamed, I screamed his name so many times so high, wow. Asagi. <3 Asagi!! Asagi!!! There was also a nice moment when all of us sang... like, the band sang a song, then got quiet, and we all continued singing in unison while Asagi directed the microphone towards us. It was very beautiful.... And glitter. Glitter everywhere at the end, they had so much glitter raining down on them, ahaha, and some shot out into the audience too. I couldn't grab any though. And, at the very end, before going out the last time, Asagi came out with a chest full of red roses, real roses. They all them threw them out into the audience - Asagi kissed his roses before throwing them out. I was on the 2nd floor like I said, so I could only stand and watch :\ Oh, and Kamijo and Moi Dix Mois had sent them flowers to congratulate their 10 year anniversary (japanese do that to each other, one company to another or similar stuff). The huge bouquets were by the entrance. Let me just say that I've been playing this video and song on repeat for some days now: http://youtu.be/zf0w16UZf6o . That song is pure love. And when they started playing the intro... omg I just died right then and there and screamed so much... I didn't think they'd play it at all, oh my god yes. So all in all, it was an absolutely awesome night, I cired, I smiled, I laughed, I screamed. D, and especially Asagi - thank you for being so amazing. Thank you. I love you, forever.

You tried to ignore everything that kept happening for the rest of the day. Since not a lot of people knew what was happening you were less stressed.

But you did get messages here and there asking what was happening, you didn’t bother to explain. In your head this would stop soon, you thought they would get bored if you don’t talk back.

The next day, when you were walking to school you noticed people stare at you. “Did it really spread this quickly? / What did they say, that I didn’t see?” You weren’t scared or anything, it just felt uncomfortable.

“Y/N?” Your friend came walking towards you, she gave you a really tight hug. “I’m sorry.”

On your way, your friend walked really close to you. She still felt bad, thinking she was the reason for all this. “Did you think about what you want to do?” She asked. “Not really, I’ll either text the account and ask them to stop or i don’t know. I don’t think I have to get lawyers involved but if nothing help I might use that as a threat.” She nodded, finally putting her stuff into her locker.

Misogyny in the Anime Community

I can’t even really believe that I have to type this shit but I guess life is full of surprises. Follow my trip down a fucking gigantic shithole.

THIS IS A LOT LONGER THAN I EXPECTED AND IM SORRY. BUT PLEASE READ IT. IN MY OPINION IT IS AN IMPORTANT MATTER. DONT IGNORE DAILY HARASSMENT OF WOMEN ONLINE.

Since I’m a very sociable girl and I love Anime and I love love love the Tumblr-Anime-Community (except for some minor things but nothing’s perfect y’know) and so I decided to join some local Facebook-Anime-Groups.

I was happy to gain new information about Anime and I was willing to throw myself into heated discussions about my favorite characters and shows. What I got instead was a shitbunch of misogyny and hatred towards “realistic female characters” that didn’t act like the **waifuuu** these guys wanted so badly.

From the start I haven’t been as active in this groups as I was here on Tumblr. I didn’t interact as much even though I really tried to get into it something just put me off. Firstly, this was a men dominated group - like 85% AT LEAST were guys in their late teens up to early twenties and they all loved some good smashes in Anime and some hot girls with super big tits (there were even polls about which Anime girls more dudes would like to fuck or something). That was something that I could tolerate - I mean who am I to judge right? I, myself love me some hot pics of my favorite Anime boys and girls so no problem right?

Unfortunately not. Most of the comments in these section were about what this men would do to this girl if they could have their way with her and I tell you what: these men are fucking disgusting. Actually using the word “rape” and “Taking advantage of” etc. in this context is in my opinion not okay. Especially when there are minors in this group (their parents probably failed to keep them under check because this group is not for minors).

I still don’t know why I didn’t immediately leave the group (probably because there were like 5 good posts per month or because I wanted a daily reminder of how shitty men can be - of course not all men and women too!)

Today I was refreshing my facebook page when said group popped up with a picture of one of my favorite Anime - NANA by Ai Yazawa. If you’re not familiar with it and don’t want to be spoiled then skip the next paragraph (I’ll try to not really spoil the plot only the relevant things? idk).

NANA is a slice-of-life Anime about two girls named Nana, but one of them is frequently called Hachi and I’ll refer to her as Hachi. It’s a very mature and in my opinion realistic Anime and Manga when it comes to the plot and the actions of the characters. And the two female main characters - god forbid - have sex. Nana - presumably - has Sex with only one guy. Hachi on the other hand has sexual intercourse with a few different men. Which is okay and normal - HA! That’d what actual intelligent people would say, but not the dudes from this group.

This one guy decided to watch NANA and I still don’t know how he even thought it would be a good idea to watch it because it’s about female empowerment and about finding your own path in this world as a girl and about even more but it always comes down to: females.

And what happened to be popping up on my facebook page was this (I added ugly translations but so all of you understand):

At first I had to google what “Sharmuta” even means, but at first look I knew it wouldn’t be something like “brave young woman”. I looked it up and - surprise - it means slut, skank, hoe, hooker, whatever term you prefer. You get it.

Not only is NANA my most treasured Anime/Manga, I’m also a girl who hates being told how to live my life. Especially when I’m told by men who 1. don’t know me 2. think women should hide in the kitchen learning recipes until their unknown husband picks them up to get them pregnant. Ok that was a little over the top but you know what I mean.

Naturally I felt attacked. I felt attacked because this is one of the works I truly admire and because the reason I love it so much is because of the complex and realistic relationships. I love that it’s not this “ugh I’m a virgin waiting for my prince”-trope. I love that there are female characters who embrace their sexuality and needs because that’s what I struggled with for so long. It portrays strong women who make mistakes (like everyone does) but they stand up for themselves and they own their mistakes and learn to live with them in the best way possible. It helped me find peace with my body and mind and showed me that it’s okay to live as you please. You don’t need to be ashamed of anything and the last thing you should be ashamed of is who and how you love and that it’s not shameful to enjoy sex or anything involved with sex. It’s okay for women to still their sexual needs.

So - of course I had to speak up. I think I knew from the beginning that this would be useless but I just felt so infuriated that a men can openly slutshame a character that stands for female empowerment (correct me if I’m wrong, but this was my feeling?).

Star Girl (me): I had to look this word up on google and the definition I found (slut) is - in my opinion - 100% not fitting. I’m sorry, but to call a girl who enjoys her sexuality and tries different things a slut is just wrong imo. What makes NANA such a masterpiece are the realistic dynamics and constellations between the characters and the lack of perfection. Hachi is not a slut and to call her that just shows your strange view of women. Of course, everyone can do as they like - but in this time and age it is so important to support girls in their decisions and to not always degrade them and question their every move. Stop slutshaming (even if it’s only a fictional character) : - )

Mr-Know-It-All: This text only shows me that you can identify with her as a charcter ... maybe you even feel like I was talking to you but sorry - a person like this (with such a foul character) is nothing you can make appear good

Star Girl (me): to be honest I expected something like this as an answer. I think it’s horrifying how much misogyny hides behind your words and is something that’s completely unnecessary in todays society. Reality will get to you soon enough and you’ll realize that women have needs and there is no reason for you to judge that. Because I know that I can’t convince you otherwise I’ll just save my energy for something else : - )

Mr-Know-It-All: I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. Don’t try so hard to defend yourself or that illusion you have. That you even said “how much misogyny hides behind your statement” is ridiculous. If someone has seen the Anime and then reads your comments about it he has to pity you no matter what. Our society is damaged and that you think behavior like this is normal shows truly what you are.

Mr-Know-It-All: For people who read “this discussion” without knowing the Anime. Just watch it (it’s a good show). But just so you understand: SPOILER: This ******** has an affair with a married an (for a long time period) ... and that’s only the beginning XD XD it only gets better.

SO, to break this down again:

- at first he assumes I identify with this character and that would make me a slut too so .. my opinion is not really valid right?

- I try to reason with him one more time even though I already saw him as a lost cause and he then proceeds to tell me (put bluntly) that my point of view is what’s wrong with society.

- he then tries to justify his opinion by slutshaming the character even further

Maybe you don’t see a problem with this. Maybe you think I overreacted, but to be honest: I’m fed up. I’m fed up about being told that I’m only worth something if I’m “pure and innocent” - whatever that means! I’m so fed up with men like him degrading women because of their decisions and actions. Why are men allowed to make mistakes, to learn from their mistakes and to move on - but women have to be haunted by theirs for the rest of their life and through all eternity? And maybe - just maybe - someone doesn’t even see having an affair with a married man as a mistake and if they don’t IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS TO COMPLAIN. Women’s lifes do not belong to men. We are not something you can dictate however you want. We live. We feel. Sometimes we need things even though we know they are bad for us. We do things that we know can get us in trouble. We are human and it’s heartbreaking to see how many men still don’t get the idea that women can live a life on their own. That they don’t need someone to overlook their every move.

I want the Anime Community to be open-minded, to be inclusive to everyone. I want everyone to feel welcome and safe. And even though there are often discourses - let’s handle them the classy way. I want to feel welcomed no matter what my sexuality is or how often I have sex or how much I admire a sex positive character. Sex positivity is so important, especially for young women, so let’s work hard together to make it something that’s okay. Okay to be talked about. Okay to be admired. And also okay to not be practiced since it’s not for everyone but that is also okay.

The Epitome Of Everything

“He’ll be fine” she sighed, directing her gaze to the horizon in front of her. “He is the strongest man after all, before Captain Levi appeared that is” her left hand grazed the small, golden ring that was wrapped around her finger. Despite Gerger’s attempt to calm her down, deep in her heart, she still worried for the man she loved, even if she trusted his skills and capabilities.

Countless of times, she had seen many of their soldiers die in battle with the titans, and her only wish was that Mike would not be a victim. He promised her a world wherein they’d be safe, he promised her everything when he put the band on her finger, she knew she should fully trust him to go alone and stall the enemy while they escaped with the 104th recruits, yet fear still lingered deep within her.

“Lets split up now and warn the villages near by, then meet up after scouting the wall” She looked at half of their squad move to the other direction quickly. without saying a word, she pulled her horse to the opposite direction and made her way, a portion of her troop following her.

The old shack from where they’ve kept the 104th recruits was still visible, run down by titans that slowly fell from her peripheral view. ‘He’d be okay’ she whispered to herself, thoughts drifting off as she rode her steed, heart string stretching down for miles, and slowly getting tangled in the mess of a war.

“Miss Nanaba” she turned back to face a connie that honestly surprised her. She wasn’t sure if she should laugh or feel pity for the boy who obviously did not take the cold very well. His arms were hugging himself despite the thick coat already enveloping him, snot drying horribly from his left nostril, almost looking like an icicle if it wasn’t already one.

“Connie, why did you leave the cabin?” she fought back the laughter and kept a stern face, never leaving her post. She was incharge of guarding the area, in the look out of any bandits or thieves while the others had dinner on this time of the night. Years of experience did not faze her anymore in this type of weather, yet it did not mean that she did not succumb to the winter winds when she was at least younger.

“I-I will be g-guarding this post m-ma’am” the poor boy shivered.

“I’m perfectly fine here, you should go and rest”

“I insist!” she looked at him like he was insane. He looked like he would have fever any moment, yet there he was, seeming so ecstatic to guard the cabins. “Sir Mike had called for you on post three”

“Ohh” a smile crept up upon her face upon hearing her lover’s name. “Well then, at least get another cadet to accompany you” he gave her a shaky salute, fists balled up tightly and trembling against his chest. She allowed herself to chuckle, shaking her head before making her way to the third post.

Most of the survey corps saw her as another respected veteran, But on other days, she would be the caring one to cook for Erwin, Levi and Mike while Hanji made the tea. She loved those moments when everything feels normal, safe and sound.

“You called?” she leaned against a torch pole, arms crossed on her chest, an eyebrow raised, and a smile plastered on her lips. As always, she couldn’t see his eyes that much due to his over grown bangs, but loved such mystery anyway.

“I smell a tired but mischievous woman” he teased, her short laughing ringing through his ears.

“so why did you command a poor freezing cadet to take my post just so I could be here?” she walked closer towards him.

“Is it bad to want to see my girl?” he asked, his signature smirk greeting her. The same one she received when he sniffed her right after she joined his squad. That was the day she slapped him for being such a creep, but he gave her a smirk anyway and did not speak. Now a days, she found it endearing when he would come close to her and place his head on her shoulder to get her scent he loved so much. His stubble grazing her neck, sending a thousand tingles across her body.

“It is not. But when we are on duty, it is” she gave him a scolding look, but was amused any how.

He hugged her from behind, leaning unto her shoulder just how she liked it. The thick coat may have prevented his growing beard from hitting her, but his warm breath reached her cheeks, on contrast to the icy weather.

“But I just want a moment with you alone” he pouted like a little kid, small reactions from him she always liked to see. She found it cute whenever Mike acted like a child. Although she should be annoyed with him interfering work sometimes, she just felt so blessed he was so comfortable to goof off around her, knowing only a few people are privileged to see that part of him.

“We have plenty of time for that when we get back to the base after the new scout’s short training” she whispered, goosebumps arising from her skin as his breaths became closer, and warmer against her. “Besides, two people getting cozy in snow would not end up good”

“That’s not what I meant” he laughed, upon hearing that she thought he was doing some kind of innuendo. “Although I would love to feel you now, that is not what I want”

“What then?” she flushed pink in embarrassment.

He took her hands upon his and gazed at her straight in the eyes, moonlight further accentuating her pale blue orbs and his grey ones. Everything seemed to wonderful, glistening under the illumination of the moon, the snow acting like glitter falling, and icicles that hung on trees like glowing lights. He deemed it would be the perfect moment, and he would not let it slide.

“Nanaba” he breathed in and out of nervousness. “Before you came, everything around me seemed like such a nuisance. I never really cared about anything and everything. Never found anything appealing, or worth living for. I joined the training scouts thinking a drunkard like me deserved to throw his life away. I was blessed with strength that allowed me to become the strongest soldier before Levi came, yet I never took pride in that. I felt like a fool, wandering around, looking for death yet kept on fighting on for no good reason. That is, until you came around”

Her eyes beamed even further, glassy and filled with emotions. God he loved her so much.

“The moment you slapped me, I knew right away, you were something” he laughed, but she never returned his humor, making him more nervous but never the less, continue. “You are beauty, simplicity, strength and everything in between. You are my everything”

She watched him, as he knelt down on the snow, his knees getting soaked up as he pulled his gloves out of the way. He had inserted them inside his pockets, only to be replaced by a small black box sitting right at his palm. He lifted the lid, revealing a simple and golden ring that gleamed under the moonlight. Tears started to well in her eyes, hands flying right to her lips in pleasant shock. She felt like she was dreaming, yet she knew it was real. Mike was proposing to her, her everything, telling her that she is his everything.

“I want us to settle down, probably have a kid or two. But not in a world filled with titans” he stated. “For the mean time, I at least want the world to know you are mine. While we fight our way through and survive together. I promise to make the world safe for my everything” he was watching her every reaction, heart pounding even more as tears streamed down her cheeks. She was happy, he made her happy. “Will you marry me?” he finally popped the question.

“Yes!” she replied without hesitation, plunging down to him with a hug. His back hitting the snow, coat slowly soaking and cold creeping up his spine, but he felt great, as she laid securely around his arms. He pulled her in for a kiss, her soft lips fitting with his perfectly like always. His hand intertwined with her right glove, removing it in one swift movement and tossing them to the side. Her bare hand touched his stubble around his jaw, bringing them closer together. He brought his hand unto hers and broke their kiss momentarily.

He placed the engagement ring unto her finger, her eyes staring at the god band as she lifted it up to the air, letting it shine through the moonlight. She couldn’t be any more happier, and so did he.

He threw his dull blades away and retrieved his gear trigger back to its resting place around his waist. He let out a loud whistle and waited for his steed to appear. He was not going to let her be there by herself while he guarded an empty shack. He had already stalled enough time for her to escape, and enough time for new enemies to come her way. He prayed that she’d be safe as he’d make his way back to her.

A large ape like titan caught his attention, its arms swinging by its sides, hair making it look like an animal rather than a titan. It looked like it did not care about anything in its surroundings, or so he thought.

He gasped as he heard his horse neigh and thrash through the beast’s hand, it body coming crashing right to him before he could even react. His shock did not allow him to retract his gear before a three meter class titan had grabbed him and bitten his legs. His gaze wondered around him, hazy through out his current situation. Fear enveloped him, as a swarm of other bigger titans started to pool around. They were waiting to devour him, their large eyes staring at him with hunger.

He screamed and flailed his body, trying to escape rom his captor’s grasp. Pain made him want to give up and get done and over with it, but Nanaba’s image under the glistening moonlight made him hold on.

“Stop” he froze, hearing a voice. The ape like titan sat right in front of him, the titan holding him stopping momentarily then proceeding to bite him once more, making him scream in agony. “Ah, stubborn one aren’t you? I said stop” he had never felt so afraid, seeing the bigger titan crush the head of the inferior one. He was dropped to the ground, fear eating him up slowly, tears streaming down his face. “What’s that on your waist? Is that what you use to kill us?” He was too shocked to give an answer, mind only hoping to get out of the mess. “Hmm, funny, I though we spoke the same language?” the beast scratched his head, but he remained speechless.

Its hand started to reach for him, he cowered in fear, ducking his head for cover as he felt a weight being lifted from his torso. He spared the beast a glance again, his gear already right at its palms as it walked away.

Then he remembered, her short blonde hair swaying with the wind as he fought enemies with her, her pale blue eyes glistening under the moonlight, her smile as she gracefully cooked in the kitchen on nights where they rested, the way she loved to feel his stubble on her own cheeks, and the way he slapped her when they first met. It was like he was slapped back to reality. He needed to get a grip of himself, for her. He wanted a safe place for her, yet he couldn’t even kill the several titans around him. He was once humanity’s strongest, and he could still do it.

He lifted his remaining blade and screamed, trying to pull himself off the ground and attack the beast who had its back turned around him. It is only when he stops fighting that he looses, he told her that, thus, he will not stop fighting, so he wouldn’t loose his everything.

“You can move now” he froze again upon the command of the beast, his limbs numb slowly getting loose as the swarm of titans ran to him, picked him up and fought over him.

“No! No! No stop! Please! Stop!” he pleaded with them, cries getting louder as bones cracked and ligaments ripped. He saw everything flash before his eyes, the last he saw was her face, before he felt immense pain on his neck and drifted off to the darkness, hoping to find their safe haven someday.

She stared back at the moonlight as she swung forward and used the last of her dull blades only to fail. She dropped down ward, hooks of her gear anchored to the tower but her gas empty, making her unable to move.

‘How did it all end up like this?’ she thought. She and Mike talked about fighting through the titan war together, and create a safe world for them to settle on, yet it was now all too good to be true. Now she was thrashing around as several titan grabbed her and nibbed at her, one limb at a time.

She cried, allowing tears to stream violently across her blood stained face, a leg already missing and the other four corners of her body, arms, head an another leg, being fought on by other titans. She saw the 104th scouts stare at her with such horror, Connie grabbing her attention most specially. She remembered the way the boy took her post just so Mike could propose to her. She remembered the way he was being playful that night and telling her that she was his everything. She remembered the way they kissed that time, wishing she could have at least one more feel of him before her death. She prayed that he was alright, having to take down the titans all by himself back at the run down shack.

A beam of light caught her eye. She stared at its direction and noticed the moonlight accentuating the golden ring she had on her right hand. It was still beautiful, simple, strong, and everything in between. It was still everything, from her everything.

She let herself smile one last time, before closing her eyes, and accepting her cruel fate, hoping to find their safe haven someday.

I still don't like that the SC are just up and going forces with the Warriors, who are nothing more than unforgivable monsters, BUT I can admit the execution this month was much better.

Hello JeanMarco fandom? Are you there? This is the fandom of 2020 telling you it’s time to come back to the series if only for a month.

It’s been 84 years but Jean finally learning the dark truth of Marco’s death topped our list of favorite moments with over one-third of the fandom selecting it (35.7%). “Yelena the shit stirrer” was second with 20.6%.This Jean-focused chapter netted Jean the third and fourth favorite spot as well. “Jean and Magath’s argument” and “Jean’s idealistic daydream” tied for third with 7.9% each.

"Erwin being implied to not support the rumbling" I wanted to choose this as one of my favorite scenes along with Hange's "I don't support genocide" <3

The biggest highlight of the chapter definitely has to be Jean punching Reiner upon learning that the latter was responsible for Marco's death. Ever since the truth about Marco's death was revealed a while back, I was awaiting the scene of Jean learning the truth about Marco's death and how he would react towards Reiner regarding it

Why is nobody talking about Yelena and Pieck pleaseeeee

I didn’t think it was possible to love Jean more than I already did but this chapter proved me wrong. I was so glad he finally learned what happened to Marco and at least got that closure.

Loved Yelena messing with everyone's emotions and calling out the truths that nobody wanted to recognize

Jean punching Reiner was my favorite moment of the chapter. Finally that evil fuck is getting what he deserves for what he's done.

The only people Yelena didn’t drag were Pieck and Falco. She has good taste.

Hange acknowledging their failure to stop Eren from getting to this point is 👌👌👌

Jean's and Magath's debate gave the vibes of 'what's older, the chicken or the egg' and I'm living for it lol

I actually found Jean’s dream sequence to be a little unsettling, maybe because of Isayama’s style of not drawing certain facial features clearly, like the eyes. It was almost more foreboding to me than sweet, peaceful, or nice to see.

My favorite moment was the reaction shot where Mikasa was going to charge Annie and everyone is freaking out but the last panel is Levi just sleeping.

With Jean receiving the bulk of the focus and development it’s not a huge surprise that Jean (66.2%) was the landslide winner for chapter MVP, with Yelena (9.9%) as a distant, and we mean distant, second. What is a surprise is that Hange’s culinary creation (9.7%) beat out Hange themself (8.9%) for the number 3 spot.

I already knew that Hange was a queen, but I'm genuinely surprised with Annie too. While the first made a big part of the fandom shut up (genocide is never justifiable) the second one admitted her crimes and understood Mikasa better than anyone.

I love the chapter. It was satisfying to see Jean find out the truth to Marcos death.

Hating on Hange puzzles me, I understand people who support the rumbling, but saying she is bad for wanting to stop the killing of billions is just frustrating to me.

With the worst rating in recent memory, chapter 126 was a disappointment to many readers, and we even saw some people losing faith in Isayama (the heresy!). So we asked the fandom about their feelings of the previous chapter in retrospect and knowing the continuation.

Surprisingly, the majority of respondents (48.9%) said their opinion of the previous chapter had not changed, but they felt positively about it, with 23% saying their unchanged feelings were negative. A remainder of 28.1% said their opinion of the previous chapter had in fact changed, with 26.1% expressing more positive feelings and 2% feeling more negatively.

Dreamt up fantasy or not, this chapter gave us yet another plausible scenario for the long-haired man holding a baby, confirming that Isayama knew what he was doing when he released that final panel, and he will milk the speculation for all it’s worth. With over 50 custom write-in responses of people saying they have no idea, it’s clear we’re all just on Isayama’s wild ride.

The most popular option chosen was that it depicts Eren holding Historia’s child (38.9%), followed by Grisha holding Eren (29.1%), Jean holding Mikasa’s child (14.7%), and Farmer-kun holding Historia’s child (8%). We also found many trends in the write-in answers:

Before they can reach Eren, the Alliance needs to first get past the Jaegerist. Only 12% of respondents expect this to be easy. The vast majority (63.8%) are anticipating an Alliance win but at the cost of major character deaths. On the other end of the spectrum, close to 20% expect the Alliance to be defeated but think they will reach Eren another way. The tiniest percent (4.1%) think that the Jaegerists will win this battle and Eren will be successful.

I hope isayama wont nerf the alliance so hard in the upcoming battle. and pls no stupid death. make it glorious.

5 titan shifters versus a group of Jaegerist, I'm putting all my money on those well rested shifters to deal with a majority of the Jaegerist on the outside while the non-titans sneak in and rescue Kiyomi. And hopefully one of them can kill Floch while they are at it.

Super excited for next chapter! It was good exposition and a good setup for an epic fight! I also kind of hope that now that they've figured out the trick to stop fighting and finding diplomatic ways that they don't directly resort to violence but at least try to find a way to talk with the Jaegerists. If they don't try to talk and find a way around then the lessons learned won't have meant a thing. I'm super happy with the direction of the story

Meh this arc has really a lot of problems with the characters, basically i dont care for anyone at all except eren and reiner, and that's a major flaw.

[Yelena] pointed everyones hypocrisy out that they aren't just victims who did nothing wrong. Everyone, except of Falco, has cover they hands with blood. It's not just ""muh Marley, muh Eldia or muh Yelena"". Everyone have started sins and are to blame for something. It was a really necessary wake up call, not only for the characters, but for this fandom as well. No matter if this was her intention to create more drama in the group or make them realize that they and not different from each other. GREAT MOMENT and Yelena absolutely slaying 👑

Since the end of the second world war, japan was reconstructed almost entirely by young people, so probably this story will end showing that with some analogy. making that previous statement, i think it won’t be eren, or any of the older characters, since they lived and did the horrors they did and must somehow pay for it(and specially the PTSD most would have, so they’ll be probably incapacitated in some way), i think it will be Gabi, or maybe Falco or someone else, because they are just lost, Gabi changed her mind and personality so well(progress, developed it), so that’s why i think it would or maybe even should be her. am i expecting too much from Isayama?

I believe in the Time-Loop still. But ya, hope Final Battle is with Levi and Eren teaming up. (Also Mikasa a bit before...)
