PIGTAILS JERRIE AS WELL, BITCH ! i saw a jerrie w pigtails after i drew this and i felt so vindicated. i also based his design directly on 2019 mungojerrie because ommgggg transgender calico? trans little calico? i thought he deserved some pearls too. as well as a bell collar! it makes cats sneakier.

his clothing design is left unchanged too, asides from some fluff. he is also wearing a print of his best friends hair . smile 😃

coricopat is pretty close to their replica design—the biggest difference being that the red in their design is warmer/purpler. that and the silver collar! i also had no idea what i was doing with her fit, so expect it to change in the upcoming art i do of him. i just wanted something gothy and flowy

hes also based on thalia, the muse of comedy. to keep the greek mythology theme going, and because i thought it was funny, and because (2x) i like... The Gimmick

WELCOME TO MY TWISTED WORLD. i really tried to keep tugger as cis guys i really did. but the thrall of a visually transgender tugger was too much to ignore. i already explained a lot of his design choices in my first posted drawing of it but like... blauhh... thigh garter, heart, golden whiskers/lashes. they are there. i also made his makeup a wee more theatrical w/ white on the chin to visually separate him from partridges tugger

i also decided to base his fur more on his obc design. like. terrence mann tugger. platinum blond spotted mane and head fur and such. i think it looks really good

im trying to hit the sweet spot between the goofy/serious/whiny/promiscuous portrayals of the him..... the man contains multitudes, you see. hed also be like 24 in human years and it goes without saying that hes one of deuts sons

hii someone asked for me for visuals of each character in hmh and tbh some people i know what they look like in my head but can't find an actor/actress that they look like but i do with some people, so here u go lmao

obviously who i picture might not be who you picture and that's totally fine! it's just who i picture in my head! if you picture someone else, let me know! i'd love to hear!

even though she's rarely in hmh right now i totally see sonoya mizuno as april (specially her from crazy rich asians) she has that perfect studious and cutesy look i see when i think of april (remember she's the one who researched the ~mysterious~ coin reader found in the beginning of hmh lmao)

(another fun fact her and jessica rothe were in la la land together and i didn't know that until like a year after i started writing hmh)

she's not in hmh much right now but when i think of jen, i think of arielle kebble, specially her with a bob like this. i think she's adorable! i don't know anything about her but i think she's in 911 right now??? idk i know she was in john tucker must die lmao

i see paul reiser and olivia colman (with an american accent lmao) as reader's parents. he's in stranger things and every time he says "kiddo" im like that's reader's dad!

and remember annoying matt? yeah he looks like this in my head. idk anything about this guy but i wanna punch his face lmao when i started writing matt, i knew i needed a guy who didn't look like he was 22 or something. i needed a guy who looked older and that would make john feel threatened because he's not a kid, he's a grown adult.

aurelio is obviously john leguizamo!

as for amanda, aurelio's wife, (whomst i LOVE dearly in hmh) i can't think of who i would pick to play her but i see amanda being pretty short, maybe like 5'0 and being a mid sized girly with shoulder length blonde hair.

grace is a super cutesy ginger and tony is...idk just a white kid? lmao some people i don't really think about what they look like. the people that we spend the most time with in hmh have faces to their names though for sure.

and as for reader, i picture...............no one. she doesn't have a face, which is really weird. i think being the person who writes hmh it's hard for me to picture her. i picture myself sometimes because it makes it easier to describe certain scenarios (i just picture myself doing them and write it lmao) but even then i still don't look like myself (my imagination is very nice to me and it makes me very hot when i do picture myself lmao)

reader has this ability to go from cute girl next door to being super sexy and hot and i can't think of an actress (in my opinion) who really encapsulates that. all i know for reader is that she's about 5'0 tall (only comes up to john's shoulder) and she has brown hair. and clearly because of the 'peach' nickname, she has a very nice ass. probably nice boobs too because i mean who doesn't want nice boobs lmao

i remember scrolling through pinterest one day for pics for ig edits and i came across the cutest little girl and something clicked and i immediately went..."that's ronan." obviously she's going to look different than how you all picture her (and she's still a baby right now) but to me in my mind, this is totally ronan when she's like two

bleu is the most handsomest boy, of course! here he is with chad at a showing of john wick chapter two. his name irl is bubba/burton. they ended up just calling him bubba because keanu couldn't remember the name burton. also keanu hung out with him on set of jw2 to build their bond 😭 look at his fucking pathetic little face he's so cute i love him!!!!!!!!!!!

you guys might disagree with me but i totally see keanu reeves as john wick. like everything about him is so perfect for john. like his hair, his beard, his intense but soft brown eyes. he's the perfect person for john ;) he has the ability to play super dangerous and scary but also can be very gentle and soft. idk maybe it's just me though??? 🤭

my favourite/notable shots from the season 3 trailers because this show isn’t getting enough hype on tumblr dot com and its the amber spyglass !!!!!! strap yourselves in for the heartbreak everyone:

BABIES. i literally want to live in this photo, iorek byrnison my beloved. look at the way he leans into lyra and closes his eyes he is her dad and she loves him

objectively one of the coolest shots from the trailer. the design of this world and all the trees is excellent and i am so hyped to see mary’s scenes

obsessed with the visuals of this little sequence. also something i didn’t clock until later is that she is lying there (as if dead) daemon-less on the dock at the world of the dead. which is making me feel a bit ill. lyra visiting the place she found in her dream and it turning into a living nightmare will break me anyway moving on

this one shot is an almost perfect representation of the world of the dead my gOd. i am just completely bowled over by the visual side of the show every season. a bit hard to recognise the characters here but lyra, will and roger are definitely in the middle. hoping to see some of the others too because i still need closure for benjamin and giacomo paradisi

TELL THEM STORIES. not what i pictured the harpies to look like but again they are so visually impressive and i know this scene will have my face doing backflips. that’s my lyra silvertongue right there

the design of the intention craft is genius they nailed it

xaphania is here... i think the angels look a perfect combination of beautiful, haunting and otherworldly. really really love the decision to have them switch between earth and dust forms, and the aesthetic is absolutely unmatched. i have a feeling the white eyes are the process of them switching to and from their earth form which is so cool

spiderverse spoilers

i watched it a second time, the first time was with one friend, the second was with both my best friends

obsessed with the way spot became the villain

the music, the visual change from white-with-black-spots to that really wiry, black Goya-esque style

It really felt like a reverse of the street fighter "for you it was the worst day of your life, for me it was a tuesday"

I love how terrifying they made him feel, moving on from this dorky silly character - which is also to say people familiar with his comics also just kinda thought he wasnt that great of a villain just lame and weird - and turning him into this superpowered villain. I also love the pettiness of his villain reasoning, part of it being yes he lost his friends and family and job and cant participate in regular society looking the way he does, but also just the "ill show you" attitude of being made fun of. I wonder if hes using that pettiness as a shield from the fact he did, in fact, Lose Everything when he became the spot.

the painterly style of gwen's world was incredible, i love the muted pink and blues, i LOVE the way it started to look like dripping watercolor on a harrowing, sad scene, the color emphasizing emotion between her and her dad, the way she was in light where her dad was covered in shadow.

Framing Miguel's face the way they did his reveal, showing the happy dad and closing out the screen to see this very tired, worn out man. I LOVE a spider-man becoming an accidental villain out of the desperation of holding everything back together, he weight of the multiverse crushing his shoulders, feeling like hes the only one to be able to make the worst of the worst decisions that are necessary (that we know of) to survive.

Pavitr didn't have a lot of screen time but I do like how quickly they were able to get us to know exactly who he is and where he is in the spiderman story; he's still very much a kid having having fun with these new powers.

i LOVE that the comic sound texts (thwip, pow etc) was written in Indian script in Mumbattan

I love all the subtleties in Hobie's design. Every tactile thing he dos changes his color scheme, sometimes he has photocopy lines masked on top of him, which is such a cool touch - punk art styles used photocopiers which is where we get that classic grainy, high-contrast black-and-white look for a lot of punk art.

He also isn't just. Stealing to steal. Like yeah its obvious he took those parts in order to make his own kind of watch (which btw I love that it was on a spiked arm band) , but his entire character is a lot more intelligent than i think a few people assume; hes giving off a casual demeanor, but it feels like hes playing 4D chess while everyone playing checkers like the way he guides and goads Miles into learning to use his palms for the venom strike, it wasn't just foreshadowing it felt super deliberate, in addition to him trying to caution Miles gently away from the Spider Society without being angry or upset Miles wasnt listening.

I cant wait for this to officially release, Im going to go in frame by frame for some of these incredible scenes.

I've been rewatching season 3. It feels like such a different show. I think the impact of the shake up of producers and cast that happened in season 5/6 cannot be overestimated. And of course with this new season they've actively tried to make it a different iteration. But yeah...the creative vision or whatever shifted a lot over its original run.

Anyway.....back to the matter at hand...

I quite enjoyed this episode. I liked the directing, though I would have preferred the flashbacks in color. There were some really nice shots in there. A lot of backstory snippets. I wanna know more about Tara. What prompted her to go to Al-Anon, years after her marriage broke up? Does that have anything to do with the toning down/disappearance of her swagger? As for Garvez - I don't feel the same level of upset over how this has played out, but I think we're headed toward a reveal of Luke's deeper feelings and some kind of reckoning. And while it's not necessarily *fun* to watch Garcia make these choices, I am not convinced this was a completely bad decision storytelling-wise. I know, I'm in the minority there. Let her fuck up! Let her be unlikable, selfish, blind. I guess what would disappoint me the most is if there's no turn in this story, no real consequences or accountability. We'll see.

Favorite scene hands down was the angsty grocery shopping. What can I say, it gave me life.

Wooseok (vocal/visual) - just a guy. He is kind of a quiet troublemaker type, and has a devilish streak. He has been doing solo stuff since px101. I like his solo stuff. But Top Media PLEASE PUT HIM BACK.

Sunyoul (vocal) - he has a WIDE vocal range. Well known for performing on masked singer and having everyone think he was a girl. Has done boy/girl duets by himself. Appears sweet but...he will not hesitate if you annoy him. Other mom figure.

Gyujin (lead dancer/vocal) - eyebrows!! He is babygirl and poses as such in pictures...very silly guy. They never give him lines and always try to cover him up in big coats. :(

Hwanhee (vocal) - LOUD. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW LOUD HE IS. Often compared to Baekhyun in terms of looks and voice. Whiney and loveable. In Boys Planet rn

apparently a kdrama with a female autistic lead came out?? so my autistic ass is gonna watch it and let you know how good it is.

ok so first of all. i feel like this is the first kdrama with an autistic lead ever??? and she´s female too??? LOVE. IT. i am also not expecting perfect rep tho, because its... a kdrama. cmon.

episode 1:

things i disliked:

-first and foremost: the whole “oh no, shes autistic :(( horrible news for me as a dad...” thing is just not the vibe. props to him being a loving father tho

-the whole autistic genius thing is overdone by now

-her geniality somehow “made it better to bear” that shes autistic?? mm

-she´s played by a neurotypical actress. i personally dont care that much, especially considering that SK is a small country and its hard to look for autistic actors, but still

-she´s very much the autistic stereotype that we all know. again, nothing i hate too much, because the fact that theres an autistic female lead in a kdrama is a huge step

-occassionally in the outro graphics and in some of the soundtrack, there are elements of infantilization. guys pls dont play silly music while the mc is forced to relive childhood trauma and her personal space is being violently invaded by an angry, screaming man, thank you.

-this one im conflicted about: ocd like symptoms. yes, autistic people do sometimes who them, but sometimes autistic people have ocd as a separate disorder. also its a stereotypical symptom. but its okay i guess.

things i liked:

-the story is told through her perspective. we also get her narration sometimes, revealing that she is a three dimensional person, just cant express some parts outwardly.

-ramblessssss! theyre p good actually

-she is her own person, capable of making her own decisions and doesnt need saving. she is capable of expressing and communicating her needs. (unless shes having a meltdown, or overstimulated. many people on the spectrum cant, and thats okay, but im glad she has agency, ok,it doesnt happen often in media) only needs support when things get unbearable. very nice.

-law isn´t her special interest, whales are! many shows make the persons special interest their whole personality, glad they branched out lol

-accurate representation of overstimulation and anxiety in public spaces

-connected to the last point, her coping mechanisms and stims are accurate to real life and relatable: noise cancel headphones with white noise, pacing when stressed to ground herself, finger stimming...

-stims actually dont look a caricature!! even though they´re basic and stereotypical, they are real and not overexaggerated

-represents sensory issues well, they arent basic, but personalized to her, which is great! for example: her dad removes all tags from her clothes bcs they bother her, she has a specific safe food (bibimbap)

-lack of empathy is handled well too. she uses logic to determine how others may feel, but it is shown that its something she had to learn! very good

-also!! she. has emotions, just doesnt express them the way other people would!!

-a big one: THE VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF HER INSIDE WORLD ISNT TRIGGERING TO ME. it still may be to some people, but, unlike the music movie (ew), it isnt bright, flashing and fast paced: its flowing, with neutral, soft colors and calm noises

-her and her best friend are the perfect adhd and autism solidarity

-her aversion to touch seems to be handled well so far: she learns to tolerate it, not like it (thank god), for the sake of comforting other people (not to please them, but only when needed)

-its a kdrama. shes getting a love interest. an autistic person being treated as an adult?? with a love interest?? DAMN (the bar is on the floor, huh)

i will update this as i make my way further through the episodes, but im cautiously optimistic so far!

🌹🦇Things I Liked About The Movie🦇🌹

Frankie…thats it thats the post - Ceci played the HELL out of them I loved the casual representation like the thing I hate about most shows that add representation is thats all there is to the character and here it isn’t the case Frankie is my favorite character of the movie not just because of them being nonbinary. between the Info-dumping and how relatable their struggle with socializing was and how consistent they were with their movement and the first day they were 15 days old and the next they were 16 days old I really enjoyed that. They in my opinion had the best outfits in the movie like I did not hate them as someone where my clothing and makeup expression is very important to my gender presentation. Overall they held up the movie definitely.

The music was fucking great there was not a bad song all of them bops going onto my musical playlist hell my main playlist even cuz the hyperfixation is real

The visuals and like background music was so on brand in my opinion like I don’t know how they could have been done better with the budget they had I really did feel immersed in the universe

The humor was also so on brand the football scene and the main 3 disturbing ghoulias rest in the graveyard were some highlights for me

Eventhough I am Jacksons biggest simp the teacher I did like I know alot of people were saying it was predictable but their motives and everything and how they didn’t want Clawdeen to get involved and thought their way was the best way for her I enjoyed. and hell from what i recall they never said his first name that could be Jackson.

I enjoyed headmistress and Dracula’s characters they are just as I would have imagined them and how Draculaura has conflict with her dad due to their family’s legacy I related to alot as a kid who feels like they haven’t done enough as an 18 year old because my siblings already had cars and high gpas and stable jobs by then

why did they make clawdeen biracial? i dont know if this is for the show and the movie im assuming both because of how the character looks. like did the idea of having a fully black main character not vibe with y’all what is the reason if yall wanted to have a biracial character then create a new character making a character who was fully black now biracial is crumby as hell making it seem as if having a dark skinned femme lead isn’t appealing

Behind every great man is a greater woman, one that deserves her credit for how she has stood behind. I wonder the stories of those women, what they have sacrificed or not sacrificed. Their thoughts and feelings when the world is surrounding their partner and views them as a plus one. (I'd write a short script about this but I think do I have the time, can I, or am I equipped ?)

He is not afraid that he will loose her but as my character says in my unreleased story, "i can't wait til you give me a fucking reason to leave your ass." Malcolm expects everything in order for not even doing the bare minimum and she is only asking him for something as simple as consideration. She just wants him to be considerate. He wants to get married and considers their relationship like rolling down a hill at full speed and he cannot apologize, he cannot be considerate, and he cannot admit his wrongs. He can only offer her I love yous that he probably does mean but he does not back up outside of what he's done for her in the past. The past which was more of her experience than his and he sees his part in it as a burden. He doesn't use his own vantage point of the past to further his career he uses her. He does all of these things without a real apology or thankyou because he is not afraid to loose her.

The restrictions of quarantine and the panorama have made Sam's writing very no frills. I wonder how other films from other directors and writers that are filmed in small contained crews like this will be structured. But this was a very good movie gonna add to my letter box 3.3-3.5

Ratings/overall thoughts:

Script is like a C+, B- : I could go into my heavier big brain thoughts on the script but I don't feel like it. You catch hints of it above it centers conversation on race and privilege, mainly the writers and questions i have that won't be answered but Sam did make me grow disdain for Malcolm over a short time. Which is sometimes hard to do because im one sympathetic person but the sympathy i have for Malcolm is at 0. Maybe a 2 at some scenes but then it quickly goes back to 0. Some parts of the dialogue miss the mark or hit the are off balanced. While some of it like Malcolm's bathroom speech albeit mean is really strong or their conversation when he comes back from peeing really shines for me.

Performances: B+ to A- because they carried the script further than it could of gone with less talented actors. The monologues do well to showcase their current skill levels which are already high af and leave room for anticipation in where these actors go next.

Zendaya holding a knife: A+ with a gold star. That switch on and off and on is delectable.

John being a shitty boyfriend but following Marie like a lost puppy: B+ with a good job written at the bottom of the paper, Malcolm being nervous a frantic dialed up with more realistic nervousness would have sold me completely on Malcolm's anxious waiting.

Cinematography: A and a participation award.

The mac and cheese: A+ for the easy mac. Wish it was like Annie's or Velveeta.

Cigarettes: Participation award and their picture hung up for student of the month. Why the grill lighter? Everytime Malcolm opened up his mouth Marie was like sparks fly.

The music: A++ with a prize. Whoever picked the music probably makes good Spotify playlists.

Enchanté ep 10

I've been slow to write this final post...mainly because I was busy last week (I mean, I worked 12 days in a row) but also because I was mildly disappointed with the visual elements of the ep. I felt like they didn't really satisfactorily follow the patterns which seemed to have been set up and used throughout the series. I thought they were utilised well in ep 9 but in ep 10 it all felt a bit disjointed, uncoordinated, and haphazard 🤷🏽‍♀️ (and maybe 'proof' that I was just reading into something that didn't actually exist in the first place).

Anyway...it seems that I still have lots to say because I managed to pull out ten screenshots to talk about...so here goes...

I don't feel like I have much to say about the colours in this first one...only that maybe the dark shades and the lack of any of the seemingly featured colours of the series might strengthen the sense of distance Akk and Theo have at the beginning. Theo wants a great love like his parents, he's blinded by the fantasy of a perfect family, and thinks he can make them get back together (showing how immature he is in his romanticism)...whereas Akk's view is that Theo's parents have made a decision and that Theo should respect it and live with the reality of it - this makes me think of that shot in ep 9 in the library with Theo standing in the Fiction and Akk in the Non-Fiction sections.

Once again, Theo's dad dishes out the harsh reality - “Not all couples in real life end up happily like in the novels, son” - and I wonder if this is what breaks Theo’s spirit and why he chooses to go back to France, effectively leaving Akk...Theo loses faith in the Great Love™...

Now a wee break from Theo and Akk to talk about Im...it was interesting that Im wore one of the few instances of red this ep. I couldn’t figure out why at first (apart from maybe it was simply another red-white-and-blue combination with the wall behind) but then it immediately cut to the shot of the plane pen...

...which is of the same colours. I don’t know, maybe I’m sh*ttalking here, but maybe it’s poignant that she’s wearing the plane’s colours since she’s a large influence on Akk letting go of Theo and not stopping him getting on the actual plane to go back to France...🤷🏽‍♀️

And my MVP! Egg! Gosh I just love her and her energy. She did not get enough screen time 😂 And in contrast to Im, Egg actually bolsters Akk and encourages him to go and see Theo. I wish I could make a cool interpretation about her pink...but this was a little out of left field for me. I would have loved for her to be in blue, for example - which I have been thinking of as Theo’s colour - or even purple...but oh well. Apart from the dark green of his earlier shirt, Akk only wears shades of brown this ep - maybe as a reflection of his desire to be Theo’s Enchante (the connection being that the book is a tan brown colour)...

I was very happy to see the return of the blue and orange combination on Im though - this felt like it was following a pattern set up earlier 👏🏼

I was also so happy with the bedroom scene - with Akk taking care of Theo - with the red behind Theo and the blue of Akk’s shorts (a repeat of the colours they had in ep 9) - it gave me a false sense of security that they were okay and everything was going well. Theo even said his faith in love returned because of Akk... But then Theo said that because of that he felt like he made the right decision...which was to go back to France and leave Akk behind...? Aaaaaand this was where I couldn’t follow Theo’s reasoning.

I'm mad at Theo now. Akk deserves better.

In their conversation, Im repeats Akk's words back to him - Theo has made a choice and if Akk loves Theo then he has to accept it. And this is why Akk doesn't stop Theo or ask him not to go - he says it himself, he would be a hypocrite if he didn't do the same as he told Theo regarding his parents. And whist it all seemed frustrating, that Theo looked like he wanted Akk to stop him, it seems that Theo had to go (pressure from his mum maybe?) and was scared to tell Akk how much he loved him and would miss him. Theo wanted to let Akk go rather than be tied to a long distance relationship, in love but unable to be with the other person. So it’s a sacrifice... but he still didn't give Akk the choice about it. I’m not sure I totally understand the motivations but I can sort of buy this I guess. I honestly think the writers wanted to shoehorn Theo’s character into the Little Prince too much - to have him return to France like the Prince leaves the fox and returns to his home planet. But I don’t think it really worked. I would have preferred if Theo had chosen to stay with Akk, as a show of his returned faith and trust in love which Akk had given him...but who am I?

Anyway, again in this scene, I wasn’t enamoured by the choice in clothes/colours...but I did like the red-white-and-blue (I’m ignoring the yellow) of the painting in the background. I also thought it was interesting that although Theo wore dark blue and white stripes, the clothes at the top of his suitcase were shades of red and brown - maybe showing where his heart really lay (i.e. with Akk in Thailand not alone in France). Also, if the front suitcase in the background had been blue, we would have had another wonderful red-white-and-blue detail - a missed opportunity if you ask me.

And so for the end. I did like Akk’s t-shirt and Theo’s addition of the accent (I felt called out because I don’t always add it 😂) and again I wasn’t impressed by the shades of brown - I would have loved for them to be in their rich red and blue again...but Akk’s darker brown could be like the library shelves...and Theo’s lighter brown could either be representational of the book (Theo resides in Akk’s heart) or of the russet fox 🤷🏽‍♀️

As you can probably tell (because I haven’t mentioned them until now) I don’t care much for the other ambassadors...but at least we got a clear reason why Tan seemed to always be in the background of a lot of the scenes - for Natee to realise Tan was always there for him and therefore missed him when he wasn’t. Boooo...

Anyway, lastly, I adored the Baker Boys crossover! I squealed when I saw the Sweet Day café!

And of course I adored Jimmy...and now I canNOT wait for Vice Versa. JIMMY!! 👏🏼

im not entirely sure what kind of podcast you'd be interested in but i'll throw out a few of the goodies in my huge library of stuff , i'll miss out a few of the HUGE podcasts that have been all over tumblr though

a LOT of it is true crime or human interest stuff , or history because im nerd ,, and a few of these dont have nearly enough attention so [shrug] i'll try to keep this short i guess lol this isnt EVERYTHING ive got in my library or listened series' by any measure

i AM gonna pop a shout to both Stuff You Missed in History Class and Stuff You Should Know from iHeartRadio because their HUGE archives have kept me from losing my mind many times over , and they cover a wide range of both important and wacky topics

BomBARDed (ongoing) this is the only fiction podcast i have happening right now really but its DAMN GOOD ONE .... it's an actual-play D&D 5E podcast in the DMs own musically-inspired world, focussed on a group of multiclass bards going to music school !! and all players (+DM) are members of the Texas band Lindby !! and they actually use and play music in the show with one original song an episode !! Kyle's worldbuilding and storycraft are truly incredible, and (Nick) Goodrich, (also Nick) Spurrier, and Ali's characters are in depth and interesting as well as an absolute powerhouse :') i actually made a piece for its first fanzine, Bardic Dreaming, which published earlier this year and is free to view now, all the players and the community are super wholesome its just very good overall 💙

History & Humans;

Fall of Civilisations (ongoing) legit one of my favourite podcast finds, im so glad my youtube autoplayed one of these ... it took me like 2 hours to realise it was 1) not the same as what was playing before and 2) had been on for 2 hours and wasnt near finished lmao. anyway, this is a series by historical fiction writer Paul Cooper, and is honest to all thats good one of the best documentary series ive encountered in years - and ive consumed a LOT of documentaries. it covered the downfall of various civilisations through history, and the episodes run from an hour to FOUR hours depending on the topic. its so chill to listen to and just get done, but over the pandemic all of the episodes have been given full movie-quality video versions too on youtube if youre more of a visual person.

Casting Lots: A Survival Cannibalism Podcast (on series break) yeah that says that lol ... its a SUPER niche topic but its very interesting and treated very well despite being kind of comical at times, the hosts are just naturally funny lol ... it delves around from the history of cannibalism in whole regions to specific incidents as recently as the 1970s, and of course the first episode is about the Donner Party, and it covers things ive never heard of despite being kind of important ?? anyway Alix and Carmella are good eggs

Sawbones (ongoing) i probably dont need to mention much here other than say that Justin and Sydnee saved me from being SO BORED sooo often, the history of medicine is wacky as hell and its what most of my history GCSE was on so [shrugs]

Cautionary Tales (on series break) this was a wild-card find lol ... it's by Tim Harford "the undercover economist" who writes for the Financial Times, and its topics kind of weave modern topics and science with how to learn from historical errors ... its a bit weird but well worth a go, also each series has a few celebrity guest voice actors which is pretty awesome

Ephemeral (ongoing) this is a very strange but thought provoking series about sounds and other things just barely saved. topics include the last castrato, the hello girls, hand-stamped records, the spread of kīkā kila music, and acoustic fossils of wild places.

Neat! The Boozecast (ongoing) history and bartending whats not to like lol ... hosted by Teylor Smirl and now their dad Tommy, they're just digging around in how important booze is to human culture

True Crime (white collar and weirdness);

Swindled (ongoing) this is an amazing show full stop. A Concerned Citizen details some of the most impactful and unruly things to happen in white collar and corporate crime. very factually accurate but given the sheer bullshit of the topics the deadpan snarking is [chefs kiss] absolutely warranted ..

American Scandal (on series break) this one is a series within a series type, and spends a few episodes at a time poking holes in some of America's biggest scandals, from a dramatised but fact-based point of view. such as what the hell was going on with Enron, how big tobacco was forced to own up to covering its own ass, how Iran-Contra happened, etc. it also now has a sister show called British Scandal, which does the same thing for British cases but with a slightly different format.

Missing in Alaska (finished) this was a fascinating series, a deep dive into what happened to two US government officials who disappeared on a small chartered flight in Alaska in 1972. it goes some really strange places, but it actually turned up a lot of previously unknown information through the audience. John Walczak's new series in a new feed is Missing on 9/11 which looks into what happened to Dr Sneha Philip.

Pretend (ongoing) Host Javier Leiva holds interviews with anyone living a lie, or who have been touched by them. con artists, snake oil salesmen, former cult members, catfishing victims, anyone and everyone.

Power: The Maxwells (finished) hosted by journalist Tara Palmeri, the story of media tycoon Robert Maxwell from nothing to empire to mysterious death and the scandals uncovered after he was gone.

Lets Talk About Sects (ongoing) Sarah Steele covering cults from around the world, in particular those in Australia - where she is from. She often has former members on the show to share their stories, and share knowledge of how they left. each story has the relevant content warnings at the start of each episode.

Brainwashed (finished) investigation of the CIA's covert mind control experiments, centred on the experiments performed at a hospital in Montreal, and its cultural impact.

Dr Death (2 series finished) two series investigating huge cases of fraud and medical malpractice, and how they were brought to a stop. series 1 covers Dr Duntsch and his horribly butchered neurosurgery, series 2 covers Dr Fata and his fraudulent cancer clinic

The Immaculate Deception (finished) untangling the weird and disturbing fertility fraud of Dr Jan Karbaat, who fathered children himself through his fertility clinic, and the impact of his deception. later episodes also touch on other similar cases.

True Crime (Violent/General);

The Casual Criminalist (ongoing) Simon Whistler of-the-many-youtube-channels cold reads a script about the case of the day, with some of his daft commentary thrown in.

Southern Fried True Crime (ongoing) Crimes from the American South hosted by Erica Kelley, she puts all the facts out there but refreshingly for true crime she doesnt hesitate to tell you if she thinks someone is human garbage lol

They Walk Among Us (ongoing) probably one of the most popular UK crime podcasts, very measured and well put together, not weird or annoying about it either.

All Crime No Cattle (ongoing, feed slowed down for now) specifically about crimes from Texas, hosted by Erin and Shay, they're very sensitive hosts and a lot of the cases they cover shed light on why the Texas criminal system is how it is or show an impact at a national level

Canadian True Crime (ongoing) Canadian crime from an Aussie who's lived there for a decade, Kristi is again a sensitive and measured host covering some important topics

True Crime (Violent/Deep Dive);

Hitman (finished) journalist Jasmyn Morris digs around in the sticky tangle around a book published by fringe publisher Paladin Press, and its apparent use as a blueprint in the killing of a mother, her friend and her 8 year old boy for financial gain.

Camp Hell: Anneewakee (ongoing) this series is exploring how a wilderness camp "correctional facility" was endorsed by the Georgia care and juvenile reform system, despite widespread abuses and shady practices the whole time. warning for csa and child cruelty throughout.

True Crime Bullshit (on series break) this one is a huge huge rabbithole but a very interesting one where the host Josh Hallmark has spent years digging into the life and potential crimes of Israel Keyes. Keyes is often mentioned as a serial killer with no pattern, but in picking it apart thats not quite true, and has sparked some re-evaluations of missing persons cases and stumbling upon information the FBI has redacted organically. there's also a series in the middle looking into the crimes of Kelly Cochran

Forgotten: Women of Juárez (finished) this series looks into the huge numbers of missing women of Ciudad Juárez, the strange circumstances surrounding them, and the potential cover-ups and corruptions on both sides of the border, trying to give a voice to all of the forgotten women and girls and their families without answers. the series itself is finished, but a spanish language edition is being released every week now.

aaaaaand i'll call it there before i list everything lol, i hope you find something to plug your boredom hole with !!
