Swallowing my nerves at last to send you an ask! I was just wondering, what inspires your designs? Are their inspirations in stuff like movies or games? Or just things you come up with yourself?

i .. honestly its kinda hard to tell, sometimes i just randomly think of something, like some detail, or color combination and try to incorporate that into a design somehow; it can come from anywhere, like the color scheme of a pithaya/dragonfruit is something i have been wanting to make a design with for ages but havent come up with anything good in all those years ;O;

im a very easily fascinated by color, espeically in nature, like sometimes i just stop and stare at something like i froze in time bc i just woooooooooooooah color! i probably look like a weirdo doing that though

its really hard to pinpoint anything specifically, the most is probably .. other artists? i guess? which always makes me nervous bc my memory is shit in most areas of life and i worry myself to pieces whether i unintentionally "stole" an idea and just dont remember and think it was my own, it goes further that sometimes i see something that makes me want to draw a similar concept but dont bc i dont want to 'steal' even if that couldnt be further from my intention (have been accused of that before ..)

that said for my ocs specifically .. most are rather old and have just kinda evolved out of their awkward first iterations (shargons first iteration was a hauro-howl- copy that was really just some human covered in feathers .. another oc was once a hellboy copy but in green- havent drawn nor redeisgn them in ages lol), the biggest inspirations for them is a mix of animals, bonus if you dont see them often- im a big shark, whale and sea creatures in general nerd so i tend to take from them as a priority but always trying to be less directly animal and mostly just .. features that work together

Eadrya is one of the newer OCs- i started to write but then looked at my folders and oh they are from 2017 .., i even made a design timeline for them how much they, and my art, have changed back in 2020, so thats also way outdated now lol (they apparently started as a whale .. thing? its like a pokemon evolution lol)

this is them now (i like this sketch still, though shargons design is now also outdated lmao)

this ones from early 2023 so also outdated now but you get the point

for demons i try to be a bit more wild on shapes and colors while still adhering to the rules of how they work (humanoid form, demon form, animalistic, one element each and more or less made to fit that, 4 arms is very common, look to be bost scary and wild but also something that would make you stop in tracks and stare in awe and fear if you crossed paths)

often times designs just kinda .. happen, i have maybe the idea ok i wanna make something with a white and red pattern also moose or those big horned cows are cool and kinda scary so maybe sth akin to that (though this one is technically a redesign too- its also pretty much entirely different)

for non demons but still non human i go for a much more restrained design, mainly inspired directly by an animal and giving the color scheme a good spin, plus adding unconventional body shapes, like ki'ita is also a good example, her old idea was just orca anthro pirate and just by making the white green instead in her most recent redesign already adds that little spin to it

that can have its pitfalls though, as i often fall into the big arm small head small legs scheme over and over xD

alot of it is trial and error, deciding on the colors can take me hours bc im always searching for my little rule of having one contrast color that shows up in very few places to draw attention to it (like with Eadrya its those bright yellow eyes and thingy at their tail)

and that is all about myy own ocs, when its fandom stuff it works kinda similar though, either in the connections i wanna draw or just thinking it further- like how deities in destiny work also just kinda .. happened like an ever derailing train

like for demise i was at first really just im gonna give him horns bc horns are cool and he got those on the starting mural in the game- so how his hair work? well maybe it isnt hair actually and just unbound energy, im making him a deity too and fit hylias design to his so, yeah, then so how does it work, ok he gotta have a skeleton still, but what if his entire actual body is made up of pure magical energy with its core in the ribcage? with the core in the ribcage >:3c and the scales you see are just like cooled down lava as an armor bc his thing is fire and earth !! the normal blood? is a thin layer of skin imiated from mortals to keep the scales together and flexible so if he ACTUALLY gets hurt hed bleed magic that looks more like lava and any normal blood you see is just the armor- so why does he have a skeleton still instead of being just energy? maybe its gotta be bound to something OH and what if all of the deities started as mortals like a mirror to the trio later on and the gods cannot have direct influence to the worlds so they needed a right hand that is neither god nor mortal but both by killing a mortal by whatever their element will be (demise burned, hylia drowned etc) and their skeleton and spirit is kept but put into a body of magic- OH what if their spirit core is like almost piloting their bodies like a mech in a way bc if youd look close youd see that every strand of magic is actual a hand of their spirit so it makes it more weird and other bc hed be able to reach out with thousands of burning claws of all shapes and sizes like the beheaded forest god at the end of mononoke- SO if hed lose and arm or something all those strands would untangle and rearrange his bones back together-OH MY GOD the whole armor idea works so well for ghirahims dark armor so what if demise had two swords once and lost one and since has forged an armor similar to his own for ghirahim out fo fear of losing him t---

and that all is a process that happens over several weeks and months not rarely while i am drawing something mindlessly and suddendly *have a thought* and omg that makes so much sense-

so "what" inspires my designs? an ever derailing train of thought about making cool thick monsters that arent the evil thing to get rid of for once? cool color schemes? idk it just kinda happens??

I’ll try to word this as best as I can but I am honestly terrible at text descriptions/explanations sometimes, so I’m sorry if anythings unclear or odd. My process also varies sometimes depending on the artwork

Sorry for somewhat long answer ahead!

Usually for any artwork that I know will take a longer amount of time, I start with a really quick 1 minute sketch to get the proof of concept down. It doesn’t have to look good and the proportions may be very off and really messy but thats ok, my main goal is just to get the whole idea down and interpret it again later. I write notes next to the sketches sometimes if I have a specific thing I want to include later like for the coloring or lighting.

After that, I usually make a revised sketch on top of that and keep tweaking or redoing the sketch until I get something I like. This is also where I reccomend you start checking proportions and flipping the canvas. The first and third image had to be revised before I was able to make lineart I was happier with. Some other times I just jump straight into the lineart if I think the sketch already looks ok (but this is kinda risky as I usually end up having to resize a lot of the lineart later when doing this, which can end up dropping the quality of the selected area and making it slightly blurred compared to everything else. Sometimes I just end up redoing the lineart entirely for the selected area when this happens).

When coloring the lineart I try to mostly color lines that exist inside the silhouette of the person, but I’m also kinda loose with this rule and also will color anything on the edges if I think it looks better in a certain instance.

I’ve been trying to keep my lineart much thinner and enjoy using Procreate’s ballpoint pen for lineart. For sketches I usually use whatever feels most satisfying or convenient or just try a new brush for sketching to spice up my process every now and then.

In worst case-scenarios, if I’m really struggling to get something I like when sketching, then I just keep redoing the sketch and trying to figure out what I don’t like about it. The undertale the musical gif had something around 6 redo’s before I finally liked it enough to give it lineart

Sometimes I also try making quick messy color mock-ups of my sketches to plan out colors or specific effects for later to test what colors I like and what I think would look good for later. I also might write notes if there’s any extra details I think of that I want to include later

Thats everything I can think of, I hope this helps and sorry again for this being a pretty long answer, its the best way I could think to explain my process, but I hope its a bit helpful at least!

on percy shelley & human connection & coping through art

to set the mood of this post i must say i'm writing it really quickly on my phone over a bowl of pasta with bread & broccoli & some orange flavored sparkling water & im still dressed in my outdoor wintery clothes (all black, knee boots, wool, silver chains & rings, although i mostly prefer gold jewelry).

so anyway today i've been kind of sad over ppl not replying to my texts & my usual reaction is to say "ok, guess i'll kms, wah wah, cry cry" but this sort of passively cynical joking schtick has gotten old & i would rather occupy myself some other way instead of moping about failed connections or the difficulty of initiating contact with anyone or the struggles of modern socialization as a whole.

instead, i will read the works of percy shelley tonight, and think about how he struggled with all of this over 200 yrs ago. of how hard he struggled to make leigh hunt and lord byron collaborate with him on their journal the liberal, and how he struggled all his life to build a positive community even in spite of years of bullying, ostracization, and family strife - he often felt like giving up, and like human connection was impossible, but he never gave in to apathy and instead he continuously curated his ideal life by seeking out other like-minded people, even when he occasionally embarrassed himself in public or when others were decidely averse to him or lukewarm in their reception. john keats didn't entirely take to him when they met and some of keats' friends straight-up disliked percy for being weird, but percy (though scarcely knowing him) loved keats as a brother-poet nonetheless, was generous to him, wrote one of his masterpieces in his favor, and died with a copy of his poems in his pocket.

percy always reached out to others and was a loyal friend even when others disrespected him or ignored him or just simply didnt love him as much as he did them. his letters to lord byron show how reverent he was to his friend, and how his affection was never returned in quite the same gusto, but, while still trying to keep his self-respect, percy quelled his frustrations and continued his correspondence with byron regardless. percy acted as the mediator between byron and claire even when his stress was so high it weighed heavily on his health. he actively tried to choose to be positive even when the people around him were negative or miserable. like most writers back then, he sent his writing to his idols, and sought mentorship from people he admired, like william godwin and leigh hunt, and he continued to respect them even when they took advantage of him financially (moreso in godwin's case).

anyway what i mean to say is that whenever im feeling lonely or rejected or alienated or socially stupid or am just second-guessing my role in society or whatever whatever whatever, i cling to creativity/art/literature/etc. even harder than i regularly do, because thats what it exists for.

i knew a therapist (not one i saw as a patient, but someone i knew through mutual interests in media/the arts) who said that a certain musical performance we both loved probably saved way more lives than any single therapist ever has. - the performance in question was david bowie's tokyo 1990 live recording of rock n roll suicide, an anti-suicide song (its available on youtube, go watch it lol, he performs it with so much conviction).

any way even though at the end of his life shelley sometimes felt like he was failing to achieve his dream of building a utopian art commune - he actually did succeed in introducing several people to each other in ways that changed peoples lives. his friends jane williams and thomas jefferson hogg got married only through his mutual friendship. whole literary societies have been started in his honor - to this day there are conferences & whatnot that meet annually - his life & writing continues to inspire people and bring them comfort - & he would be extremely proud of that - any artist would. the main goal of any famous dead writer is basically to become the imaginary friend of their future readers & he accomplished that - even though all the time he was wracked with doubt/depression/suicidality/illness/chronic pain, etc. - as a political/philosophical radical, he realized that having hope is one of the most influential & radical things one can do - & i'm glad that, even though this is a person who died over 200 yrs ago, there is at least one person who really resonates with me - even though we're from different centuries, different continents, different sexes, etc. - it's helpful to have positive influences to look up to, especially when they've also struggled in similar ways as you. and although shelley was pretty privileged (rich englishman) he really did struggle a lot mentally & physically - his life was a chaotic mess - and he wasn't perfect at all - but i think he's still inspirational for my previously mentioned reasons - his ceaseless hope. the last poem he was working on was titled the triumph of life, even though he wrote it during a deep depression. the last poem he published in his lifetime was hellas, which he hoped would raise money for the cause of greek war of independence. from the poem:

"Life may change, but it may fly not;

Hope may vanish, but can die not;

Truth be veiled, but still it burneth;

Love repulsed, — but it returneth!"

depends on if i'm actually familiar with that other language or not, and how easy it is for the reader to get at translations (hover text or subscripts, depending), i myself probably won't be capable of doing so.

I'll start with the deltarune ones since those are the Easiest to explain, then ill talk about my actual Original guys lol

Cabelle is based around conspiracies and more out-there gaster theories obv, but her main inspo also comes from a tweet i saw like eons back that was essentially just: "mark my words the chapter 3 boss is gonna be like the history channel or smth". that always stuck with me, wanted to do smth with it!

Hero was based around a hyperfixation at the time, that being Murder Miners, this old xbox craft shooter my friend got me into. always loved those offbrand minecraft things, little me would be playing Survivalcraft and Eden all the time on my old busted ipad.

other ones aren't as clever or deep, like blanca being based off that berdly dialog, or peann and dexter just. being objects without much else lol

Outside of those, a lot of my characters are mishmashes of games and character's that've stuck with me through the years! for example, heres some sonas/dudes from a story/website thing im still workin on: mlmty

salutations, i’ve got a bucket full of V3 redesigns for you all! 

this is for a “rewrite” fic, technically, and i thought it’d be more fun to give the character designs my personal touches, since i’m gonna be doing the same with my writing

little bullet point reasonings on each of the designs below the cut

ouma: - i didnt really change too much of his design, but i wanted to give it less of a “straitjacket” look and decided to go for a wispy, mysterious look. his scarf now doubles as a hood, which is loosely inspired by his cape in his official art - i gave him a bang to cover half his face, because i just like how it looks on him lmao, imo it gives him sort of a sneaky, “intentionally being the creepy kid” look

himiko: - ill be honest, her redesign was just me having fun. i dont mind her canon design too much, but i did wanna give her the air of not only a performer, but a girl who seriously doesnt care about social conventions (autism) so she wears her cape and her little witch dress around everywhere bc she loves it - i gave her more teal on her design, since APPARENTLY thats what v3 has decided is himiko’s main color? teal, not red? so i gave her a healthy mix of both

kaito: - he’s wearing a JAXA jumpsuit that is modified into his signature magenta color, but he’s an idiot so he’s wrapped the top half around his waist so he can wear his little... bomber-style jacket, since aerodynamics and all that - i made his hair.... more normal, because i really hate drawing kaito’s stupid spiky hair! now he has a little headband flattening his wild hair

shuichi: - his design in canon, while... nice, it’s very plain. so i kept the general look and feel of the canon uniform but adding some touches that feel personal to shuichi, like the turtleneck with sleeves that cover his palms. it gives him a more reclusive look, somebody who prefers being in their comfort zone

kaede: - she’s the first one i started with, so she ended up being a bit of a “basis” for the rest of the designs, considering how different my design is from her canon one. personally, dislike the skintight sweater vest, it doesnt look comfortable NOR does it suit kaede’s personality (imo) so i decided to give her an outfit that makes her look loose, carefree, but still naive and inexperienced. - ponytail, i just think kaede would prefer as well, her canon design has such a round hair shape and it looks silly if i focus on her silhouette too much. shes like a bobblehead

maki: - HOLY SHIT, maki i had a good time redesigning, since i harbor nothing but disdain for how she looks in canon. her stupid edgy red/black seifuku with thigh highs and mile long hair just was too much for me to bear. - i gave her an outfit that seems serious, but still cutesy and nonthreatening. i took her red/black palette and turned up the warmness a bit so she has more browns and maroons that give the impression she’s warmer than she acts like she is - her pigtails are much shorter as well-- i cant decide if theyre clip-ons or her real hair, but at least theyre shorter. honestly, i know she’s supposed to be the ~wooby tragic backstory sexy anime girl~, but her mile long pigtails wouldve gotten her ass yoinked from behind and killed long ago. so i chopped them. also, she’s got a handgun tucked in the back of her pants, hidden by her sweater’s bagginess. no more lame knives for you maki, you get a gun

korekiyo: - just like with himiko’s design, i was mostly just having fun with korekiyos redesign. i like his canon design, but i wanted to try my hand at giving him a much more androgynous look. it ties well into the whole sister thing, anyway... - the flowers depicted on his clothing are crudely drawn i admit, but theyre intended to be white lilies, which represent a few things: renewal of the soul, a common funeral flower, commitment and rebirth - i also figured, if im gonna give more girls pants, i should give at least one of the male characters a skirt, and korekiyo is beautiful and i wanted to draw him in drapey clothing.

miu: - and best for last is miu iruma! man, i HATE her canon design, seriously, what a lazy design! they just slapped bondage gear over a pink seifuku and were done with it! dont even get me started on her long, loose and wild hair that would be an utter nightmare for people who work with machines. i decided to keep her wild and long hair, but packed it all in a thick braid, because it ended up looking surprisingly good for her. besides, she’d probably make some innuendo about it being the “perfect to use as a reign from behind” or something lmao - i also changed her pink seifuku into a frilly, steampunk-styled shirt with the straps and gear on top to kind of... hold it into a specific shape. - we were ROBBED of miu with cute overalls in one of her beta designs, so i gave them back. i rly kinda kept in mind the mindset of “if i was miu iruma, what would *I* personally choose from my wardrobe to feel attractive and powerful?” - i wanted to give her a toolbelt, but thought it would look a little cluttered on the design. but she likely uses one regularly

tbh i dont really know what i specifically like getting compliments on i think it's cool when people point out little symbolism and details and stuff i added because it shows u were looking at it pretty closely (?) but also just a keyboard smash or "i'm going to kill you" is equally as delightful as it is ominous to me to me. especially if its like an angst thing thats like chefs kiss .

i spend a lot of time and pain working on rendering and coloring so maybe that too? but i also just spend a lot of time on anything so idk i will just be forever greatful to you if u say literally anything to me im like a little street rat

i answered this in another ask and idk if i'm supposed to just like copy and paste that answer and put it here but i'll just write another one because its 2am and its fun to ramble but it's literally just thinking about skk and skk aus and skk hcs and skk thoughts 24/7 i dont think about anything other than skk. studying? wow imagine skk studying together in a school au... eating? wow imagine skk eating dinner together... sleeping? wow imagine skk holding each other and cuddling in bed and falling asleep because they're the only place each of them feels safe ok sorry no more i'll stop

in the sense of where do i get my inspiration from to improve i guess (????) i am extremely driven by pettiness and the everpresent drive to be an art prodigy but thats like ehhhhhhhh its mostly me being like omg HOLY SHIT THAT IS SO COOL I WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING LIKE THAT TOO BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lots of just artists making cool things and cool medias that i watch that are cool make me wanna make stuff too

to set expectations, it's primarily horror, and kinda horror/erotica/romance though I hesitate to add those other labels to it just becuase my intention is to openly explore sexual themes, but not really to get off on them lol.

the basic synopsis is in an implied-dystopian future, scientists from various industries discover/announce that the world is going to end in approximately two weeks, though they don't agree on how. inspired by this mysterious and existential anouncement, Case (the narrator and player character) decides to hook up with her online acquantance Dane before their presumed deaths. Case is an introspective necrophile while Dane is somewhat self-destructive and turned on by the idea of dying during sex (they met on a forum discussing necrophilia). however, they end up spending their last two weeks getting to know each other, discussing their lives and impending doom, and checking off their last bucket list items (which aren't particularly complex). and maybe even falling in love a little bit.

it's going to be a visual novel but there'll only be one player choice towards the end, and two endings. I'm mostly using the vn format as something that makes writing this sooo much easier for me.

it's hard for me to put the themes I'm exploring into words, but in general words while writing this I'm thinking about acceptance of death, the sort of existential awareness of "the end of the world" everyone seems to be feeling rn (re: climate change, fascism, covid, etc), kink/sexuality and specifically the intersection between that and how we percieve ourselves/how we relate to the world. it's also an intrinsically furry piece of art though the characters are only portrayed as cats as a stylistic choice. within canon they're humans (tho Dane's a therian), but I'm depicting them as cats as a representation of the dissociation and otherness they experience due to their sexualities and the capitalistic society around them.

whats interesting is when I started working on this in december, the original idea involved an exploration of dread specifically, but as I've fleshed out the story and made changes, the tone has become super different. if I had to define it now I'd say it's reflective and maybe a bit somber, but with a bit of a lighthearted side to it too. and idk if it'll change again later but for now I'm enjoying how casual the narration feels.

You ever think about if you really like red vox, or only like it because famous funny streamer man guy is making it, and if the lyrics are even made well? This isn’t directed at you specifically, this is just a thought I’ve had.

yeah, ive thought abt this kind of stuff, i dont think its unusual for ppl to think that when they listen to music made by a youtube funnyman (since theres many such cases)

i cannot say if they are a good band in a technical sense or not cuz im no musician, but i think i have enough proof to tell i like red vox because of what they make and not because vinny twitchman is the lead singer

ive tried listening to music by other youtubers before but almost all the time it falls flat unless its like a one time thing usually, but i (personally) feel like red vox has both incredibly rich music AND lyrics

there is a couple of songs i listen to i think "i feel like x word or y thing could have been connected a bit better here" but it feels solid and, what matters to me, actually impactful, a lot of these songs feel and sound so emotionally charged i kinda worry some times, and listening to them in a bad day might break me, i joked abt this before but i call another light "my second the downward spiral" just because of how heavy it can feel at times (especially the first and last songs)

it also helps that a lot of what music vinny likes and probably inspires him usually aligns with what i like too (talking heads, radiohead, nin, even elo which i didnt know he liked until a recent stream)

also i should mention this here which i funnily enough mentioned to a friend some days ago, but the reason i began to make so much vinny art in the first place its *because* i began listening to red vox, ive been a vs fan for years now, but when i draw him a lot of times i mostly think of him as "singer of red vox" than "twitch streamer vinesauce" (which doesnt mean i dont like making fanart of him as a streamer) + other more personal connections im too lazy to write about, which explains why im always making him look kinda melancholic or just more akin to the emotions his music evokes

sorry this ended up being so long but i cannot be asked about my interests and reply in a normal way

ultimately if you like something you just like it and theres nothing wrong with that even if its funny youtuber music, i think id rather support and get supported for the thing im making than for a brand name but thats on every different person to choose

oh maaaannnn there’s a lot. what inspires me most is the fact that if i don’t draw or create regularly i turn evil <3 (thats mostly a joke, but i do get very irritable if i dont have some kind of creative outlet haha)

electric dreams is also good but it feels weird sliding it between those other reccs 😭 the tonal whiplash

for books,

house of leaves, obviously. absolutely disorienting narrative that was very fun to pick through and jump around. johnny’s sections are some of my favorite pieces of character writing, and i adore how the text and formatting turns the book into a labyrinth. my only complaint is figuring out similar things in css is HARD.

things have gotten worse since we last spoke is a disgusting novella (said with the utmost affection). its not something i can recommend to most people because it deals with some sickening topics, but it def shaped my love of horror

ihnmaims and tuf voyaging are two short story collections i read when i was far too young, and still enjoy today. also colossus the forbin project (the book). good 👍

marathon trilogy! me when the ai have issues disorder🥰🫶 it can be difficult to play (use walkthroughs or mods to make things a little easier if you arent in the mood to be frustrated), but its worth it imo. shotgun and mousetrap if you even care btw

cecile richard and kitty horrorshow have been integralllll to my artistic development. cycles and gutless by cecile is the reason I started writing in twine, actually. still some of my favorite works :^)

disco elysium is amazing but everyone knows that. i think making readers feel uncomfortable and kind of pathetic is good, actually.

scorn is like. absolutely gorgeous. the game plays awful imo but its worth it for the eyecandy of lovingly crafted biomechanical horror. i got the art book as a gift and now it permanently resides on my desk.

signalis is a recent one but i watched my friend play through some of it and am itching to try it because AUGH. the vibes are immaculate (even if some of the combat is annoying hehe). @ that one anon who sent me a signalis recc, YOU WERE RIGHT. IT IS 100% MY KIND OF THING

there’s a LOTTT more, many of my inspirations i often forget about because i have an awful memory. i approach a lot of media consumption with the intent of “what can i learn from this?” (both narratively and mechanically) and fucking loooooveeee deconstructing things i enjoy. my toys 🥰

i will try my best to answer your question in a comprehensive way nonnieeee!!

a few tips that i can give in getting writing ideas and forming thoughts are:

write all of the your ideas down in a notebook even if u think they are cringy or corny (sometimes those ones turn out the best). i have a notebook of ideas and i’ll show a page of how mine looks like; it doesn’t have to look organized haha i like mine messy and cluttered. basically, you just put everything you want there and you can look through it when you’re running out of ideas or when you want to look for a certain something

read a lot!! i know it can be kind of cliche but reading books will help you more in writing. trust me, i swear.

don’t be afraid to use prompts or tropes for your ideas. that’s all yeah.

you can use your experiences like real-life interactions, events, and such!! (i do it all the time and it really helps in creating somewhat realistic situations that feels so real and fleshed out bcs its what happened to you). also you could twist it into your narrative like how you wished the situation should have happened and ended and what you wished you heard or said. writing gives you the freedom of imagination and lets you express your thoughts and feelings without repercussions

just let it all happen. just write, vomit those words out, let your thoughts spill into your writing, just let it happen. you don’t have to worry of the grammar as you write, you can check that later.

challenge yourself in writing!! you are free to write whoever and whatever you want. you have the freedom in your hands but you must be aware of the boundaries or lines that you must not cross ^^

keep on writing (never back down never what!?) ignore the grammatical errors, the mistakes, everything, it’s all part of the experience. as long as you’re enjoying what you’re doing and you love it (learn to love the art of writing)

My first concepts for Persephone! The Goddess and Queen herself~ Please excuse my writing, i have adhd and im just writing what pops into my head cause im running a blank

Lets talk about this;

So im a pale white chick and idk i guess i always lean towards pale white chicks (?) but im trying real hard to mix up my norm with new things, but my brain keeps loving the 3rd colour option qnq

I also have stretch marks under my boobs, idk if thats normal but thats where mine are so thats where i put some for her.

My Perse is half mortal so i was trying to keep that in mind but also make her look half godly which, turns out, is a lot harder than i thought.

I know i want her to have sun-kissed skin with many freckles, that just makes sense to me as the Goddess of spring, but i wanted her to be in a more peach/pink hue, thus the more 'red' skin

I also plan for her to get a bit more pale and skinner while in the underworld since there isn't any sun and she cant eat the food there, she dose eat, nyx bring her food from up top but thats only like one meal a day.

I wanted her to have curly thick hair.

At one point was making her look very deer like (check under cut for more info) thus the birch 'antlers' on the 3rd.

She'd normally have long hair but she cuts it when she runs away which is why theres a bunch of different hair styles. The outfit is inspired/taken from Blood of Zeus but drawn horribly cause idk how the fabric would flow.

Im thinking ill need to draw her parents before i get her final done but i have 0 ideas for demeter...

So this is acutely the first time ive drawn such a curvy body and stretch marks so i wanted to play around it before sitting down and drawing it, i was having such a lot of trouble with it but after getting some good refs i think i was able to get what i was looking for.

I was also trying to figure out what kind of art style i wanted to go for this. I figured that since this is going to be a comic ill go for my easier more cartoon style

This is what i mean by deer look. The idea was that her God Form was very deer inspired since i associate deer with spring but deer a main symbol for Artemis and im not sure if shes going to be included in the story and if i need to bring the deer motif back for perse,,

I mostly like to focuse on character design and concept since its where id like my day-time job to be so im really trying here but id love some feed back and ideas if you guys have any!

Hello!! I’ve been a fan of your fics for a while and I was wondering what your writing process is like? I haven’t written a fic in ages and I honestly miss it, so I was wondering how you tend to get started or find inspo :^)

hmmm . i actually havent been writing any fics as of late but thtas mostly been for how stressed and busy i have been . but !!! i can tell u that my process is very much . a lack of one . i write oddly and strangely and i am a mess about it . i usually write a few lines in a scene and jump around from one part to another, wherever i feel my mind leaning towards i tend to go there and feed it ! its not very much a process as it is an . experience .

however, if im very much intentionally trying to get started on a fic i usually just . open up a doc and write the first sentence that pops up in my head . it doesnt matter if it is the most mundane and uninteresting thing, because the first draft is very rarely perfect . the main goal is to have something written down, because if u keep going, then that one mundane sentence builds up to create a showstopping paragraph and thats where u get the most motivation and satisfaction !!! so id say if ur very caught up with urself and thinking that nothing ur writing is good enough and u keep backspacing and have urself stuck in the same spot, then just . keep writing . keep going forward even if its grueling and absolutely terrible . after u have dug urself a tunnel out of that hole, u can go back and make it a proper staircase . u just need to get to where u want to be, and once u are satisfied or content, u can go back and fix what u want

if u find urself unable to do that, then i say seek out other media that really entices or evokes emotion in u . nothing (in my opinion) is as inspiring as a good piece of fiction or art or music or dance ! listen to music u wouldnt usually listen to or check out a friends movie recommendation, just try to push yourself out of the usual things you watch or read or listen to on repeat . taking the time to listen to something new and finding one good song that sticks with me for three weeks is the kind of stuff that has me writing 4 fics in one month !!!

anyway . i hope some of this was helpful or useful at all, if none of it was or if i just . didnt do a very good job of answering ur question, then let me know :) and the most important part of the writing process is just that, to write !!! write whatever it is, and if ur stuck in a block or arent proud of anything ur writing, then write the first thing in ur brain ! if u dont like that either, then thats fine !! just keep going until u find a rhythm . and if u dont, try again and again and again ! i am a firm believer in that trying makes all the difference . is that too cliche idk ! but i think its true

¿got any wips you wanna share some details about?

actually yeah! ive been working a lot on world building and a few key characters for a world mostly based off of these recurrent adventure dreams ive had for years and kinda just piecing together a world and characters from what i get out of those dreams! unfortunately its almost finals here at my uni so i likely wont be doing much development of it for the next 2-3 weeks :p ive also been having issues w art block and inspiration for the past few months but thats usually how it goes for me, a few really productive months then nothing for a while.

the tidbits i do have together are that this world is quite similar to if not our own earth in a nearish future, but most of the world has either been flooded or turned to desert aside from very few high elevation areas with temperate climates and humanity has decently reestablished themselves and is not in threat of extinction (for now) but some scientists built a dimensional particle collider to explore and study 3d space and it effectively destabilized the planet's dimensional boundaries when it exploded. and the only character i have to speak of is Sigmund but i like to call them Sig, Sig was at the facility with the particle collider when it exploded and is one of the few survivors of the incident, due to the dimensional energy released Sig was split into 2 forms, Sig A and Sig B with separate autonomy and thought, though they are both a strong blend of who the original Sig was before the explosion, they are closer to two polarized ends of the prior Sig's identity. i havent really thought about pronouns too hard but Sig A has a more masculine body and presentation with about a foot in height over Sig B, where Sig B has an androgynous body and presents feminine/androgynous. Sig B is quite skilled with many weapons and serves as a weapons expert archetype whereas Sig A received a dimensional power that allows them to move between 2 continuous spaces within sight (pictures/videos/visual media can be used as well but a screen/page needs to be large enough for Sig A to fit through). SDJKHFD this kinda turned into a huge writing dump but tysm for asking i love sharing about this world sm :D

I have had a moment of pure thought that brought me to an interesting idea I thought you might want to hear. Steve and Herobrine , by your set universe, are connected in some way shape or form. Steve is mostly based off a survival world player, same with Alex and the Player. Herobrine adversely gives me the vibes of someone who uses commands or is in creative mode. You have also (if I remember correctly) drawn a version of Alex as her own brine counterpart. What if like Steve and Hero, Alex and Brine are similarly connected, each other's opposites? Alex and Steve are set in survival mode (in a figurative or literally sense) and must live off the world that was generated. Hero and Brine would be those who aren't affected by the world in a meaningful way. They can't be starved, they can't be killed in conventional ways and (if I remember something you said correctly) can only lose their abilities to some weird way, say, your world's version of a command changing their gamemode.

This brings me to my favorite idea of them all. Does the Player herself have a cryptid counterpart that is styled similarly to the other cryptids? Or is she a mixture of the two? In some way, shape, or form; absorbed her creative doppelganger? It could be a reason for why she is separated from her parents. Maybe her counterpart is the reason she woke up in a new world. She is trying to separate themselves into two figures like Steve and Herobrine.

I'm not sure if any of this was intentional or just the mad ramblings of a lunatic but I did want to say you have given me quite a good sense of creativity when it comes to my writing habits. You have inspired me with your art to created a written lore of the Minecraft game as if it was told from the perspective of a player character or perhaps a villager that has heard stories of these advanced beings. Super super cool stuff, please continue with your amazing artwork and I hope you have a wonderful day!

P.s. if I ever finish a portion of this story idea maybe I'll send you a bit of it to look at, your art is a huge part of what it is so I feel like keeping it to myself would be criminal lol!
