the flash should have ended with barry quitting his job at ccpd to become a stay-at-home husband and that's on that
#the fun part is it genuinely could have ended like that. i have no idea. still haven't watched it#NOBODY TELL ME BTW#THAT IS NOT ME ASKING FOR SPOILERS. I'LL GET TO IT#but honestly it's the only thing that makes sense. i have genuine reasons for this#namely: how the fuck is iris. an incredible but ordinary non-speedster woman. meant to look after a baby speedster#ordinary babies are already making it their life's mission to die. eating shit they shouldn't. rolling over and suffocating.#idk i don't know about kids but i know babies are breakable and will roll off tables and god knows what else#now imagine you have a toddler and she can literally move at hundreds of miles per hour#how the fuck was iris meant to cope?#i still maintain that when they did the 'she put a power dampener in nora' plot it should have been like. not a control thing#but also yeah. literally a control thing because HOW THE FUCK ELSE WAS SHE MEANT TO LOOK AFTER HER BABY#if barry is gone and she's a single mother. assuming no other speedsters are around to help her. what the fuck else was she meant to do?#of course she had to suppress her powers because how can you stop your toddler running into traffic if she can run 1000 times faster than u#how do you keep her in her crib at night if she can phase through the bars?#in that sense. yeah it's fucked up. but you can understand it. you can empathize. what other options did she have?#so yeah stay-at-home dad barry is the only thing that makes sense for genuine safety reasons#he is quite literally the only one who can keep up with the kids#they dropped the ball on nora is all i'm saying. again. fic that lives in my head where original nora's death actually means something#and we get a new nora who is ACTUALLY a different person. as she would be considering her whole upbringing was different#and she has to somehow live up to the memory of a version of her that was erased from time#part of barry and iris can't accept that that specific version of their daughter is gone and it's not her#THE ANGST POTENTIALLLL#in my head she doesn't even go by nora because she's like. THAT'S NOT ME. SHE DIED. WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT WHO I AM AND LOVE ME FOR ME#she goes by dawn bc yeah im still kinda sad they didnt use that name#fictional characters give ur kid an original name instead of always naming them after dead ppl challenge#my fics#my meta

Abby Anderson modern day head-cannons
Parings - Abby Anderson if the apocalypse never happened
Tw- some nsfw at the end
An- this is both In general headcannons and relationships
Tumblr media
Abbys father is a neurosurgeon so mans is loaded bro 😭- abby def went to one of those hella expensive private schools.
She’s kinda old and new money
So Abby can go three ways ok
The typical basic blonde IT girl
Straight girl on the weight lifting team
Muscular masculine lesbian
I think we all know which one makes the most sense.
Abby wouldn’t come out to her father about being a lesbian until like high school
I’m pretty sure her mom died in the beginning of the apocalypse but it could be safe to assume that she’s also a doctor in modern day
Abby would of gone to a really good university and become a neurosurgeon like her father
While in medical school she met Nora and Mel - they knew Owen and manny and that’s how the group all met
She would of definitely done sports - so sports Abby did would be
Weightlifting
Basketball
Ice hockey
She’ll go online and see the thirst edits and comments about her and laugh because she’s not only flattered but she’ll find multiple women who are her type and like their comments.
HEAVVVYYY against college parties like girly is a student athlete and on a scholarship for her medical degree — she’s always studying and doesn’t want to do anything to ruin her scholarship
After she gets her degree she works in a well known and high paying hospital
Got a German Shepard and named her Alice
Graduated top of her class
A big football fan and if her school has a football team she would go to every home game.
Tumblr media
You and Abby most likely met in college.
you two met after both taking a same extracurricular.
she had to actually prep talk herself into actually going up to you and talking to you
once she actually asked you out she was freaking out over wether or not you actually liked her (she had Nora help her pick out an outfit)
after a few dates she awkwardly asked if she could be your girlfriend. You said yes of-course
At first you thought the relationship would be hard since Abby’s always busy but much to your surprise she always made time for you
After like a week together she took you to meet her parents, you were anxious as her parents were well known medical professionals but they welcomed you with open arms
Once she introduced you to the friend group you knew you were stuck with her.
Is overly protective of you- a guy hits on you she’s passive aggressively getting into his face. Some girls are starting drama with you - she’ll tell them to fuck off . A teacher is refusing to take your paper late - Abby will go have a one on one possibly bribe the teacher to take your paper.
If you did well on exams she’ll take you out to a nice resturant however if you did poor she’ll reassure you take you to a comfort food restaurant and help you study next time.
Outside Abby’s the sweetest most gentle person you’ve ever seen however in the bedroom it’s completely different
Abby is the type of woman to take her time devouring you. She would spend hours between your thighs with her tongue on your clit and her thick fingers pumping in and out of you painfully slow
She can either be soft and loving whispering sweet nothings into your ear taking her time with you compaired to when she lost an important game or is stressed out about exams she’ll fuck you like no tomorrow, denying you your orgasm and degrading you, with her thick strap deep into you

OKAY OKAY here we goooo an annoyingly long-ish post about all my thoughts on The Sunshine Court
Spoilers Spoilers Spoilersss you've been warned
First things first it is so interesting to see Nora writing from not one but TWO new people's perspective. Jean's perspective is just devastating being inside his head is heartbreaking the constant fear and panic and how much of his energy is used on just pushing down every memory of what was done to him. His coping mechanisms are terrifying and i truly do hope by the end of book 2 he has a healthier way of dealing with it bc baby boy stop hurting yourself :( Every sentence was so painful to read. But also his resilience the entire time to get through it no matter what, god i fucking love him!!! He is a fighter.
Jeremy's perspective is sooooo refreshing. He is such a little sweetheart i could cry. The fact that he sends hand written letters and he's so caring and genuine but he can also be so stern. When he dropped that "i asked you a question" to Lucas fkehdjdfjdh OK SIR. I'M SAT. His relationship with the family butler is so endearing as well i need more background on that for sure! My only one criticism is that he didn't have enough pov chapters and i'm hoping we'll learn more in the second book of course because there's still so much about him and his (dysfunctional? toxic?) family dynamic that we don't know yet but also i'm greedy and i wanna know EVEYTHING about him !!!
Kevin and Jean are so just tragic it actually breaks my fucking heart like "you didn't have to slit my throat on the way out" JEAN??? and "promise me you won't try again. I can't lose you." KEVIN??? And the fact that Jean to this day is still keeping that promise. Also Jean's obvious but secret long term crush on Kevin the way it's subtly dropped every time Jean has to stamp down on his desire's and "temptations" GOD PLEASE I CAN'T STAND IT
SPEAKING OF!!! BISEXUAL JEAN ??? BI JEAN??? BI JEANNNN !!!!
Neil and Jean oh my God like where do i even start?? The guilt Jean feels at what happened to Neil in the Nest and him finally calling him by his name after Riko's death and telling him his game was good. And Neil seriously needs to give himself more credit for how much of a caring person he is because the way he indirectly told Jean that he thinks he is worth saving and didn't even hesitate before asking Stuart to send someone after That Guy after what Jean told him. Neil Josten the man that you are!!!
Jean's little sister Elodie what a beautiful name. Them being so close and him reading to her. The way he found out about her death jolted me differently. It was so awful and i'm so sorry Jean didn't get to see her grow up and meet her again.
Renee and Jean oh my god. Jean thinking she's beautiful (bitch me toooo) And the whole right person wrong time ugh i can't stand it. Him wearing her necklace all the time, enough that Jeremy always notices it. And unabashedly stealing her picture from the foxes lounge. Like he did not give a fuck. He said this one is mine. One good reason to stay alive being rainbows i'm gonna FKSJSKDHDH. Theirs would be such a soft love.
Speaking of soft loves Laila and Cat are EVERYTHINGGGG. God they are so cute with their little domestic life and their rich gay boy son who crashes on their couch with his cardboard cut out dog. That whole friendship dynamic is beautiful. Their fierce protectiveness and care over Jean as well and the patience they have with him even after the little kitchen incident. When Cat took Jean out for a drive on her motorcycle god that was such a heart warming moment and Jean helping them cook as well and becoming the girls' little sous chef it's so cute so endearing !!!
FINALLY FINALLY THE JEREJEAN DYNAMIC
PLEASE I'M GONNA SCREAM
Jeremy being the one who told Jean that Riko was dead i don't even know what to begin with THAT like hhhhhhh. The way they're both stupidly attracted to each other but won't/can't do anything about it. THE WHOLE "say yes Jeremy" SCENE WTF WAS THATTT I WAS GOING INSANEEEE. Both of them having to stop mid sentence when they catch the other looking FINE as hell. Jean being so obvious that even Lucas picks up on the way he looks at Jeremy. Jeremy being there to ground Jean in a Moment and helping him come down from it. Grabbing his face and telling him he's okay. Moving into the room with him to make him feel more comfortable !! The way Jean grabs Jeremy's chin (boiiiii). Jeremy constantly reminding Jean that he is NOT A RAVEN ANYMORE no matter how many times he has to say it. Jeremy saying he'll wait as long as it takes until Jean speaks to him. JEREMY GIVING HIM A HUG AND JEAN CLUTCHING DESPERATELY TO HIS SHIRT FUUCUFHDHSJHSSUHDH and then the "will you help me?" And the "Anything you need" AND THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE A CERAMICS CLASS TOGETHER?!?!?!!!! i can't i can't i can't i caaan'ttt
There's so much more to say but i'm gonna leave it at this for now because i need to go re-read it again and take my time with it this time round but i really could not have asked for anything better Nora truly outdid herself here !!! I'm forever grateful she blessed us with this after so long.

MY CSSNS23 MC: "Carolina Moon" {prologue}
Tumblr media
**Thank you SO MUCH to my event artist @eastwesthomeisbest for the absolutely amazing cover art she created (in much less time than I should have afforded her). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it, and am thrilled to be able to put it with each update of my story. Also, I'm so grateful to have @xarandomdreamx as my beta for this fic as well, though I did not give her this prologue, so any mistakes here are absolutely and unfortunately mine! And thank you too to the @cssns as a whole for once again providing such a great event of which to be a part!!***
Here is my second submission to the @cssns23 event!! This one is a modern au of the Nora Roberts novel and subsequent tv movie Carolina Moon. The main female character in the movie is psychic/clairvoyant (I’ll admit, I’m not too sure about the distinction between the two) and I thought her visions and what she goes through in connection to them made a nice real-world parallel to Emma’s magic. (There’s also a scene in here where the male lead says something that I could so perfectly see Killian saying to Emma… I just cannot wait to get to that point!)
Anyway, I hope you will enjoy this romantic thriller with some murder mystery elements.  There are some instances of abuse and violence in here though - which I feel like I should mention, since that’s a little darker than my typical style. Most of them are in flashbacks of Emma’s past, or in visions she has of victims, more than in the actual present day plot; still I wanted to make people aware before we got too far.
Please enjoy! (I’d love to hear what you think.)
Prologue
July 1993
The water at their hideaway always feels so good. She could sink into it until her head slips below the surface and never, ever want to come up for air. It’s cooler, more luxurious than even the rich, satiny sheets on the trundle bed those rare nights when she gets to sleep over at Rose’s. Emma Swan’s gangly, 13-year-old limbs slice through the murky water as if the constant humidity and sultry air of Storybrooke, South Carolina can’t penetrate here in their little forest haven. She knows, of course, logically, that the real world isn’t all that far away. The shaded pond she and Rose discovered two summers ago is just a short trek into the woods at the furthest edge of Rose’s family’s boundless acreage. Still, it feels removed enough to bring Emma a sense of peace and contentment she gains nowhere else.
Looking over her shoulder to the large, smooth boulder jutting out of the pond at the bank where they left their flip flops and cutoff denim shorts, she can see her best friend stretched out with her new book where they had spread their towels on the rock’s surface, just in the wash of warming sunlight that streams through the tree branches overhead. Rose’s flawlessly creamy pale skin is prone to burning, but at the moment her friend seems willing to take the risk for the benefit of lazing cozily to read as she dries in the sun after taking a quick dip. Shaking her head, Emma plunges back under, happy to stay in the chilly water a bit longer herself. She knew as soon as they’d met outside Rose’s house that afternoon, and she had seen that Rose held a new Boxcar Children book in her hand, that her friend would not be able to resist burrowing into those pages for long.
It’s funny, Emma supposes, but that’s exactly what bonded she and Rose Jones in the first place. They might seem different on the surface, but in the end, neither of them quite fit with everyone else, and so they gravitate to each other, and have ever since Emma first arrived in Storybrooke as an eight-year-old orphan. They are each willing to give the other at least one person who takes them as they are and with whom they won’t have to pretend. Emma doesn’t care if Rose wants to read quietly and tell her about the stories she’s already finished instead of picking out dresses for the next cotillion class or preening in front of the mirror, practicing batting her eyelashes to charm boys or bragging to Emma about which ones she intends to kiss. Her sister Ruby, who shares the same thickly shining, burnished mahogany hair and pretty pink lips but little of her fraternal twin’s calming, gentle personality, does enough of that for the both of them. Their mother, a former debutante and southern belle, delights in the one daughter’s traditional coquettishness, and despairs of the other’s shyness. Cora Jones is a true throwback to another time who wants nothing more than to see both her daughters marry well and retain their places atop the social ladder. Emma could not care any less about such details; she is already clinging to the very bottom rung of such a social structure - if she and the so-called guardians with whom she lives are on the ladder at all. In turn, Rose doesn’t mock Emma for her thick, dark-framed glasses or secondhand clothes, nor does she cringe away from the “fits” that sometimes take hold of her friend, making strange, disturbing scenes Emma can’t understand flash across her mind with such intensity they sometimes knock her off her feet. Emma knows Rose’s mother and sister find her an unsuitable and embarrassing companion for Rose, but she is eternally grateful her friend seems able to see the best in anyone - even a lost girl nobody else wants - and so blithely acts as though she has no idea about the rest of her family’s opinions.
Cringing even while still submerged in the pond’s depths and practically invisible, Emma tries not to think of her unwanted visions. Her strict, hypocritical, and more than a bit deranged, foster father claims she’s possessed - and more than once has taken her episodes out of her hide. The man swears he’s beating the devil out of her and putting the fear of God in Satan’s place when he takes the thick leather strap to her shoulders, back and legs until she bleeds, but Emma has already lived long enough in a cruel and unfair world to know that his violence and “discipline” have less to do with parenting and concern for her soul, and more to show for his own twisted mind and overindulgence in the bottle. She wants to hide her spells from him, but when they come on her so abruptly and with such power, they are impossible to miss. She can’t fathom how a person like him was deemed fit to take in and care for a child, but mistreatment and injustice seem to be her lot in life thus far, and so she simply grits her teeth and survives.
It’s different though when the spells happen around Rose; the slight brunette merely rests a cool, steadying hand on Emma’s forehead or her arm until they pass, then she helps Emma stand until she feels in control again, listens as she attempts to make sense of whatever she’s seen, and most importantly… believes her. If only she could stay in the huge house Rose’s family calls home. She’d cook, clean, do chores, even stay in the servant’s quarters; Emma isn’t picky. It would still be a far sight safer than the situation she has in the rundown shack with the monster who’d been deemed her caretaker. Barring that, she would honestly rather live wild in these woods and survive off the land. She knew which plants and berries were safe to eat; Graham, her first friend, once a fellow orphan now happily adopted, had shown her ages ago, as well as taught her how to fish. It wouldn’t be easy, but she’d get by, and at least no one would lay a hand on her again.
This afternoon, those eerie images she sometimes has seem far away as she splashes up out of the water, trying to arc playfully like a mermaid as she breaks the surface. Drawing in a big gulp of air after staying underwater so long, Emma startles at the sound of teasing laughter, and whirls to see three figures on the bank where she and Rose left their shoes and shorts.
“Well, look here,” calls out a taunting voice that never fails to set Emma’s nerves on edge. “It’s the baby beached librarian and her drowned rat friend!” None other than Emma’s nemesis, Killian Jones, crows from his vantage point on dry land.
Rose sits up ramrod straight, book still in hand and annoyed scowl on her face at Killian and his friends’ interruption to the quiet peace of their sanctuary. She isn’t genuinely angry, though; for all that she and her sister share little in common, she and her two-years-older brother are affectionately close. “Shut up, Killy!” she shoots back, throwing in the childhood nickname they all know he hates. “Who asked you to come looking anyway?”
The boy standing next to Killian speaks up next, making Emma scowl just as playfully as Rose had moments before. Graham Hunter might as well be her big brother; he’s the closest thing she’s had to family since her parents were lost in a car crash and she was thrown into the foster care system. Be that as it may, he and Killian Jones are thick as thieves, and he’ll give her a hard time for all he’s worth while in the presence of his buddy. “We just wanted to swim,” he calls across the water to the two girls, smirking at Emma, who now stands in the water with one hip jutting out and hands planted on her waist. “How were we supposed to know you two were infesting it?”
“Ha!” Emma jeers back, the affront plain in her voice; despite the fact that the entire routine is like a practiced girls-versus-boys exchange they’ve all engaged in countless times. There isn’t much else to do for entertainment in their sleepy little one-horse town. “You idiots know this is Rose’s and my hideaway, fair and square!”
“Well, Rose’s anyway,” a third voice cuts in snidely.
The cruel jab reminds Emma once more that to most folks she is just a charity case, quite possibly only included in anything at all because of her friend’s kind heart, and at the intentional slight, cuts her gaze to the third member of the boys’ little crew, skulking a step back in the shadows behind where Killian and Graham stand, as he always does. Her green eyes narrow to slits in genuine dislike and suspicion. Where before her animosity was largely for show, when they land on Walsh Ozman, it is all too real.
She has never understood why the other two boys - jokers and annoyances though they may be, but good guys when it comes right down to it - hang out with Walsh at all.  Where Graham and Killian are much more cut from the same cloth - athletic, outgoing, well-liked and pleasant - Walsh is a splindy, sniveling character, complaining and whining whatever their little trio gets up to. He lives not far from Emma’s foster father’s cabin with his single mother - a bushy-haired redhead who seems strangely overprotective and attached to her only child. Most people give the property a wide berth, except when high schoolers teepee it the whole month of October, and the general town consensus is that Zelena Ozman might be a witch and to steer clear. Still, beyond all of that, Emma might have been able to look past the boy’s circumstances and see him for himself - she of all people knew the gift it was not to be judged by where a person came from - if Walsh hadn’t simply given her “the willies”. Even standing too close to him made the fine hairs at the nape of her neck stand on end - and not in the way that nearness to Killian sometimes did; an altogether much more pleasant tingle, even if she was just as unable to explain one as the other.
“We could take their things,” Walsh suggests, holding up the threadbare, faded jeans Emma had left on the bank. “Make them walk back in their skivvies.” The wicked smile on his face makes Emma’s stomach turn over sickly.
Something sharp flashes in Jones’ eyes, his nostrils flaring slightly and his head giving a subtle shake of dissent that Emma can see even at the distance she stands away from him. Protectiveness, chivalry, or maybe the honor of a southern gentleman passed down to him through generations of his impressive family line; whatever it is, it sparks to life in his eyes at that moment as he quashes Walsh’s mean-spirited suggestion in no uncertain terms. “That’s my little sister you’re talking about Oz,” he growls, smacking the worn material from the smaller’s boy’s hands, even if the article of clothing isn’t Rose’s at all.
Emma feels her breath rush back into her lungs, though she continues to watch the guys warily for whatever they might do or say next. Before long, they grow bored of standing around and move on, hollering out age old taunts of “Bye, losers” and “Hey, smell ya later” to Emma’s derisive snort and Rose completely ignoring them to flip open her book again.
However, even with the intruders gone, it seems as if the perfect comfort of their retreat has been shattered by the unsettling interruption.  Soon, Emma wades to the shore and Rose clambers down from her perch, to dress once more and return to the world outside. For a moment, as she refastens her jeans around her skinny waist, Emma feels a strange prickling along the fine hairs on her arms… like they’re being watched. She jerks around, searching the surrounding trees and brush, but can’t see or hear a thing.
Rose’s small hand takes hers, snapping Emma out of the moment. “What is it?” she whispers, only true caring in her voice. “Did you sense something?”
Emma nods, but can’t give her suspicions voice. Usually her visions are clearer than that - this had just been heavy breathing and like looking at herself and Rose through another person’s eyes, outside her own body.
Rose stooped to grab the little canvas bag she’d bought along with water bottles, towels, and a second book in it. “Hey, don’t worry, okay?” she offers, hopeful and kind as always. “You’ll figure it out. Wanna meet back out here tonight? Secret Sister bonfire?” she winks mischeivously. “I have to get to dinner now. You know how Mama hates it if I’m not washed up and properly attired for the evening meal - or a second late. But we can talk some more then, maybe you’ll remember more and it will be clearer.”
Emma nods gamely. “The stars’ll be beautiful by midnight,” she suggests. “And we’ll definitely have the place all to ourselves.”
“Since we were so rudely interrupted,” Rose chimes in with a giggle and roll of her eyes.
“Shake on it, pinkie swear,” they say together in practiced unison, executing a complex handshake that ends with their pinkies hooked together and wide, matching grins on both their faces.
“Thanks Rose,” Emma whispers sincerely, trying to speak around the lump in her throat as if it’s no big deal. “I’ll be out here as soon as I can sneak away.”
Rose, for her part, wraps her taller, golden-haired friend into a tight, momentary hug. “Hey, we’re Secret Sisters! You can count on me.  I’ll see you then!”
They part ways at the edge of the forest; Emma heading to the rundown cabin that serves as her nightmarish version of a home, and Rose to the pristine Jones family mansion standing tall over all the surrounding land. Rose looks back over her shoulder with a smile and wave that bolsters Emma, and the memory fades back into the haze of the past…
Eighteen years later….
September 2011
The blaring of the horn as a sports car whizzed by, barely missing the nose of Emma’s beat-up yellow VW where it had begun to edge out into the country intersection, jarred her back to the present with a gasp and painful jolt to her chest. Panting for a moment as she gripped the steering wheel, Emma tried to clear her head and calm the pounding of her heart at the near-miss.
‘Get it together,’ she berated herself. It might have seemed like only yesterday as she remembered that sunny afternoon at the swimming hole, but that day had been nearly two decades ago. She was a grown woman, had made a way for herself, fighting tooth and nail for every step forward, and she answered to no one. She had learned to stand up for her rights and her needs, to control her visions and use them for good, and had even served a special consultant for the Boston PD. But, more than all of that, she had come back to this place to find peace, to lay to rest the ghosts that had followed her everywhere else she’d gone in the years between, once and for all. If she expected others to leave the past in the past, she would first have to manage to do the same.
She’d had no way to know as she and Rose parted that afternoon with promises and plans for later that it would be the last time she would ever see her friend. Emma had harbored the pain and the guilt and the unanswered questions ever since. Finally, it was time to meet the gazes of all of those who had stared at her in suspicion before she’d been packed up and moved away once more, and it was time she found answers. She wasn’t the scared, whipped, mistreated adolescent she had been at 13. What she had lived through then was not her fault, nor was what had happened to Rose that muggy July midnight.
And if she had to return to Storybrooke, South Carolina to lay that burden down… well, it was long past time she did.

Enough.
... I hate that I'm pissed because I have a fuckin au idea and this time unlike all the ones I haven't posted yet, this one is... Arkos... SHIT.
Ok my own gripe with arkos and pyrrha aside I should probably explain my idea. So basically me being me aka a fuckin thief I decided to say, "let's give jaune a yuta deal from jjk." Because... I'm sorry I've been in jjk brain rot for the last month.. that and writing branded dogma but we aren't discussing that.
So basically after pyrrha dies to cinder it's not ruby who sees Pyrrha's death but it's actually jaune, and jaune unknowingly unlocked his semblance due to this and, well I have a little theory about semblances or at least I would like them to be handled, semblances manifest when a person has reached the peak of a desire, that semblance thus grants that desire. So basically once Pyrrha's dead jaune's semblance is released and it's a little different, I dub his new semblance, "spectral", basically how it works is he can imbue his aura into a anything and forces it to live, or if someone dies he could force their souls into his service. Anyway that's the idea now for some skits.
/////
Jaune found himself walking with Nora, Ren, and ruby as he watched Ruby looking over the map as she seemed frustrated. Jaune sped up and was next to her as they kept walking.
Jaune: h-hey ruby you alright?
Ruby mumbled something before looking at jaune as she jumped back slightly.
Ruby: dear oum! O-oh jaune! I didn't notice you were beside me, w-what were you saying again?
Jaune: o-oh I was just checking in on you is all.
Ruby: oh well I'm doing great, just annoyed with this stinking map.
Jaune nodded as he hesitantly put a hand on her shoulder and said something but ruby didn't hear as her face went pale with a shiver running down her spine with everything around her just vanishing.
Ruby looked around unnerved before seeing a suit of Spartan armor as a green flame burned from inside of it.
Ruby stepped back as she felt her breathing quicken as the suit of armor stared at her, it didn't have a face but Ruby could feel its stare.
???: jaune... Leave... Jaune... ALONE!
The suit of armor dashed towards summoning a spear as Ruby screamed-
Jaune: RUBY!
Ruby snapped out of it as jaune, Ren and Nora all stare at her in concern. With jaune holding her shoulders as he seemed the most concerned.
Jaune: ruby are you alright, you just f-froze and-
SMACK
Everyone stood in shock as a hand print had found itself across jaunes cheek as Ruby stared at him with her right hand raised to the other side of her head, her eyes wide with fear as she trembled in terror.
Ruby: d-dont.. don't touch me.
Jaune: ruby...
Jaune looked at her his eyes filled with confusion. Ruby stepped away from him as Ren looked at Ruby's demeanor closely.
Ruby: just.. d-dont touch me.. ok?
Jaune looked at her still confused but soon nodded.
Ruby and jaune didn't talk to each the rest of the day.
/////
Everyone had found themselves staring down cinders team as everyone had their weapons at the ready but lowered as cinder glanced at each of them with a smug expression before her attention was focused on the strange blonde fool, she didn't know why but the air around him... It felt... Cursed.
Jaune: you... How dare you act like this...
Cinder raised an eyebrow at the fool as her seemed to shake slightly.
Jaune: walking in here.. acting like this.. wearing all the atrocities you've done... LIKE A BADGE OF HONOR!
Everyone in the area could feel the air get.. cold. Extremely cold, as if the bashful fall had let in the apathetic winter.... No, the hateful freezing cold.
Cinder could feel it.. all of this presence.. where was it coming from?
Jaune: I'm going to make you pay... For everything you've done.
Jaune suddenly bolted towards her his sword at the ready.
Jaune: YOU. PIECE. OF. SHIT!
/////
That's all I got.. so far. If y'all got any questions just fire away in my asks and if you got an idea for the au just tell me.
I am desperately craving someone to hit up my asks so.. yeah.
Without anything else.
Rock on till ya drop. Tata mothafuckers 🤘
Cheers 🍻

warnings: none, just some anniversary fluff!
Tumblr media
The noise of the crowd was deafening. Nora shook her head quickly, ridding herself of the nerves. Tonight was her and Matty’s 3rd wedding anniversary, they were in her beloved big apple at her favorite venue in the world. Matty had had this tour date circled on the calendar since he found put about it, wanting to plan something extra special for the concert - and ofcourse for Nora.
“Now, ladies and gentlemen before we get into this next bit. We have to bring it back to basics, yeah? I mean c'mon admit it… your life wouldn’t be as dramatic without this song.” Matty’s voice booms out of the overhead speakers as the band begins the intro to Robbers. Nora braces herself for the inevitable hunt Matty goes on trying to find someone in the crowd to pull on stage and kiss. He jumps down to the barricade and feigns his search, already having a surprise planned out in the back of his head. He walks to one side, then the other before jumping back up onto the stage and he struts his way over to the side stage where his wife is absentmindedly watching the crowd still.
“Actually, we have a different plan tonight everyone. As some of you may know, I got married three years ago today, in this exact city! In honor of that, I’d like to invite a special someone to join me for this song in particular.” Nora comes back to her senses once she hears the words married and special someone and her face goes white. He knows how she hates big public romantic gestures like this, always commenting on people who propose at sporting events on the jumbotron and how much pressure that puts on the moment and the person being asked the question.
Her eyes lock onto Matty’s as he walks toward her with a small bouquet of white flowers in his hand, other hand reaching out to her. White tee shirt and dress pants suiting him wonderfully. Matty almost freezes when he sees her outfit. They came separately since he had to soundcheck and she was busy finishing up work for a buyer in her studio so she got changed since he last saw her. Nora had decided to go a bit out of her comfort zone for their anniversary, not thinking she would be pulled out on stage to face a crowd of tens of thousands of people. The sheer lace bralette adorned her body beautifully, black caging framing her ribs and contours of her chest. She also had thrown on the red lipstick she knew he liked and a pair of his black jean she had cut into shorts since they were more comfortable and roomy than normal women’s ones. She also had brought the anniversary present she got the two of them with her, thinking he’d like it for the afterparty.
He gulps, rethinking his plan for half a second. She notices the worry flash across his face and how he was thinking about subjecting her to face a crowd in her current outfit. She holds a finger up to him and pulls out their anniversary gift. With leather being the customary third year wedding gift, she had gotten custom leather jackets made for both him and her. Embroidered with their New York wedding date and the skyline on hers, and the Manchester wedding date and map of the city on his. Pulling them out of the bag and handing over his, she slips hers on. “Happy Anniversary, handsome.” He pulls off his button down and swings on the jacket. She kisses him on the cheek as she walks past him and out onto the stage. Waving a hello to the now mental crowd, she smiles - Matty still bumbling behind her in awe. “And everyone please welcome my wife, the incredibly talented Nora Downey! Now, I have a surprise for you tonight. You, my dear, have always mentioned wanting to get some tattoos of your own… Well, I’d like to also welcome our tattoo artist for the evening.” Nora is practically buzzing with excitement over how she is about to get her skin permanently etched with symbols that remind her of Matty. They had decided ages ago to do matching tattoos and figured out what they’d be, but their schedules never aligned with any of the openings the tattoo parlor in London Matty had gotten all of his at had. The tattoo artist walked out on stage with her kit and in a lab coat like the rest of the crew members. Nora took her seat on the comfy couch and pulled off her jacket. Matty sits next to her, getting comfortable as he tells the tattoo artist what he’d like - the words “i’m a man” scrawled along his ribcage as well as the number 12 on his right collarbone. Nora then follows the idea up with her own. They decided to do the three ideas Nora was most certain on: a MOM tattoo on the top of her wrist, i’m a woman also along her ribcage and then finally a 12 on her thigh.
Matty was first. He peeled off his jacket and leaned back in the couch, letting his abdomen be on full display. While the tattoo artist artist got to work, he began to sing. Head leaning back, “she had a face straight out a magazine, god only knows, but you’ll never leave her. Her balaclava is starting to chafe…” and Nora looks at Matty dead in the eyes as the next bit comes, ink finally piercing his skin.
“And when gets his gun, he’s begging ‘Babe stay, stay, stay, stay, stay. And I’ll give you one more time, we’ll give it one more fight. Said one more line, will I know you?” Matty’s voice rings out over the crowd and Nora can barely look away. Her brown eyes locking onto the tattoo beginning to form, mouth agape at the man in front of her. He has never looked more himself in this moment, he has never looked more like her Matthew. Singing his heart out, skin being decorated with inky blotches she has now memorized, curls going in a million directions around his angular face. In that moment, like every other moment she has ever looked at him, she knows he is the love of her life. The song progresses a bit more and the tattoo begins to form. Matty holds Nora’s hand tightly as the needle dances over the bony part of his ribs, pain starting to seep into his voice a bit. She glances down from his face and to their hands, forgetting the crowd of 20 thousand people staring at them. A blush crawls over her cheeks as she admires their silver rings glinting in the light - like the moon being mirrored off the ocean.
“Now if you never shoot, you’ll never know. And if you never eat, you’ll never grow. You’ve got a pretty kind of dirty face, and when she’s leaving your home she’s begging you to stay, stay, stay, stay, stay.” Nora mouths the words to Matty and he feels his heart soar out of his chest, the emotions of both the song, the moment, the night flooding him. He has never loved anyone more in his entire life, he has never seen a more beautiful human being, he has never known anyone better than Nora. The thought he had when he first saw her all those moons ago in Las Vegas, and every other time he ha ever looked at her, reverberates in his brain… she is the light of his life.
Finally, “I’m a Man” adorns his ribs. The artist cleans the area and wraps it up. Moving up to his clavicle for the 12 he requested.
“We’ll give you one more fight said, one more line. There’ll be a riot cause I know you! Well, now that you’ve got your gun it's much harder now the police have come. And I’ll shoot him if its what you ask…” The tattoo needle quickly draws the number on his shoulder, Matty glances down at his two new pieces and smiles to himself, then to Nora. “Sing it babies!” He commands the crowd before leaning over to her.
The whole of MSG screams: “But if you just take off your mask, you find out everythings gone wrong! Now everybody’s dead!! And they’re driving past my old school.” Nora takes his face in her hands, thumbs rubbing his cheeks as they soak in the moment. Both sets of eyes glassy and overcome with how much they love each other in this moment. As they continue to yell, Matty takes his microphone to his lips and Nora mouths back to him.
“He’s got his gun, he’s got his suit on and she says ‘Babe, you look so cool! You look so cool, you look so cool!” He now forgets everything else and kisses her like he never has before, all the love and admiration in the world being poured into it. The rest of the world evaporates around them and suddenly it is just her and Matty together. That is until Goerge is yelling in his in-ears to move to the next song and get his mind together.
“Right, we have another surprise everyone. In honor of my lovely wife being here, we’d like to play the first song she ever heard from us. Because I can be romantic, thank you very much!”
With that, the boys jump into Settle Down as her and Matty switch spots on the couch. Nora’s face breaks into a mile wide smile as she starts to lightly sway to the music. Her and the tattoo artist agreed on doing her upper body pieces first then moving to the 12 on her thigh.
First, the “I’m a woman” on her own abdomen, right under the bralette. Matty sings beside her while holding her hand as she braced for the needle hitting her own ribs.
“A soft sound, into the way that she wears her hair down covering up her face. And oh what a let down I don't seem to be having any effect now, falling all over the place.” Nora bites her lip as the needle hits her skin, trying her very best to contain herself and the slight, but constant pain. Matty’s thumb brushes over the back of her palm soothingly and she instantly relaxes into the couch. Remembering to take deep breaths so as to not pass out on the stage.
Matty continues to sing, but his eyes never leave her. Worry flashes across his face a few more times during the song but once she is finished with the rib tattoo, he knows the worst pain is over - his wrist one was a walk in the park and so were the ones he had gotten on his legs.
Getting her own abdomen wrapped and sealed, she offered her wrist to the woman beside her. Luckily this one would only be three letters and not a whole phrase like the other one.
“A small town, dictating all the people we get around. What a familiar face, do you know what I mean now? I’m so fixated on the girl with the soft sound, her hair all over the place.” Matty takes another glance in Nora’s direction before getting off the couch and back to walking around and dancing to the music. She gives a thumbs up to him and with that, the worry slides off of him. He blows a kiss and off he goes.
“And you’re sure that I’d learn. I’m pushing through bodies, avoiding me and walking ‘round you. And you’re cold and I burn, I guess I’ll never learn ‘cause I stay another hour or two.” He knew that was one of her favorite lyrics he had ever written and he smiled, glad he could surprise her and give her such a lovely night.
With the mom tattoo now complete, they moved to the 12 on her thigh. She thought about how their hands would now look holding hands - wedding rings, matching tattoos and all. She swooned. She couldn’t have dreamt of a better husband than Matty.
“For crying out loud, settle down! You know I can’t be found with you, we get back to my house. Your arms, my mouth, now I just stop myself around you for crying out loud!” The song finishes as soon as the 12 is done and Nora runs to Matty once she is all finished and jumps into his arms. Like out of a movie, the two kiss in front of Madison Square Garden as it erupts in cheers for the happy couple.

Thoughts on Volume 9? I really could've done without Jaune during that whole arc, and just let the Rusted Knight be someone from the Evr After. I want to see more of the title characters, and not a secondary protag get his metaphorical dick sucked.
I want to see more of Ruby than I do Jaune.
(Also, it was a dick move of Winter to look right at Jaune, and not help him get to safety.)
Personally, I don’t think Jaune should’ve fallen in with RWBY, and this is for a few reasons.
1. The dude gets a lot of exposure during most of the volumes, definitely feels like he’s THE main side character at this point, and this isn’t getting into the common debate on if he’s Miles’ self insert or not. It would be nice to get a break from Jaune, mostly so that both sides of the fandom can calm down about him. Also, side point to the Jaune thing, it would've been nice if he actually brought up the fact that he "had" to kill Penny (had is in quotation marks because it feels like to strong a word for what happened during that volume.) Hell, have it be part of his dialogue when he's shouting at Ruby, let that be the final straw that breaks our hero, to learn how her BFF died.
2. I really think it should have been somebody else from the main group who was forced to grow up in the Ever After. In my personal opinion it should have been either Ren, Nora, Oscar, or Emerald. Ren/Nora for arguably the same reason, Nora wanted to figure out who she is without him, and this situation is a freaking monkey law of that, either she thinks he’s dead or has been given plenty of time to find the answer to her question. If she fell in, suddenly she has all this time to find herself, let her grow as a person while also figuring out just how much she does love Ren and misses him. If Ren falls in, he now has to deal with being all alone along with his brand new semblance, seeing all the different emotions of the strange creatures around him, making this whole experience even more confusing as he has to deal with this alien culture.
Emerald because this could all be her way of trying to show that she has become a better person, her guilt over the fall of Beacon, making her guarding the paper people even more poignant since she wants to make up for who she was, not wanting to be like Cinder ever again. Like just imagine her trying to keep the paper people alive, acting a little crazy as she calls them Penny, Hazel, or Pyrrha, all people that she has either helped get killed or watched die for her, she's just trying so dang hard.
And for Oscar, this would be the first time where he’d be someplace where Oz is just as clueless as he is, the two of them being on even footing as they explore this new land. With them being in the Ever After, we can finally get a conclusion to the convoluted mess that is the whole reincarnation thing, which is a rant for another day. Also, it would be cute to see Ruby's reaction to a grown up Oscar, I'm sure it would be adorable.
With Jaune, it just feels like we're getting kind of a rehash of his arc during the fourth and fifth volume, where he's trying to process his grief and trauma, only to channel it in some pretty self destructive ways instead, until he gets better through the power of friendship. We've done this song and dance before with him.
Now for my real thoughts on the season, it had some decent ideas, just poor build up to them. Like I love the whole thing with talking to a part of themselves that they don't want to face when they go into the smoke, love that trope, but all the problems that the girls face don't feel like they were actual problems. (Mostly Blake's dumb ass thing, "Am I a person or an animal?" When has that ever been a thing for this fictional race?!) Could've done a sweet callback to Volume 2 by having them face their old dreams, Weiss becoming the head of the SDC, Yang doing this for the thrill and adventure, Blake trying to help the Faunus, Ruby becoming this fairytale hero, let these be what they have to face. Weiss, Yang, and Blake can all see how far they have grown, seeing how they have become better than those old dreams, that sort of thing. All while Ruby just gets asked "What happened to you?" or something, just another part of that is cracking under the pressure.
But yeah, most of the ideas just didn't feel they were implemented all that well. I think it's just another example of something that CRWBY could have foreshadowed better overall, heck, even just having someone reading The Rusted Knight would have been a pretty easy way of doing it, like during the montage of good deeds they do in Atlas, maybe Yang is reading to a bunch of kids or something. Would've been sweet.

Life With Luca thoughts/reactions
WOW, I really enjoyed that way more than I expected to!
OK, so timeline wise the math isn't really mathing for me lmao. Like how do they both have 14 yr olds and Simon being in college already?? The show only ended in 2009/2010 which was 13/14 years ago?? What year is it in this universe??? They both had children the year they went off to college lmao??
But I'm happy to ignore logic since I actually enjoyed the newbies a lot.
I liked that Luca/Skylar weren't just a repeat Casey/Derek dynamic and weren't rivals who full on hated each other but just grew up differently and had some jealousy/hostility toward the other because of that, but actually were a lot sweeter together during more serious moments. I think their personalities perfectly reflected how they were raised - Luca is a bit of a rebel, but he's very much Casey's son, he's trained in First Aid! and has a granola bar in his pocket at all times, albeit stale AF, and takes care of his siblings even if he can be lazy about it sometimes. Skylar is more mature minded but she has the freedom of Derek's parenting so she's not nearly as high strung as Casey is, but she is more organized and put together to make up for Derek's lackadaisical way of living.
I LOVED SIMON!!! He was easily my favorite new character. I can't believe I went from forgetting he even existing to absolutely adoring him. He was so lovable and silly and he must have such a wild childhood being the Venturi-McDonald baby, I would love more backstory on him!
Molly/Kai were adorable and the perfect little chaotic kiddos to round out the ensemble :3
George/Nora - although I wasn't as invested in them, their relationship is so adorable and they're just as dorky and sweet as they were in the series.
The random jewelry heist B-plot was so random, but kinda funny. I'm down for some chaotic hijinx, and I love how it ended with that theif falling through the ceiling XD
The return of Lassiter and Sam were great. It would've been great to see any of the show regulars honestly but I'm glad we got some. I think the return of D-Rock really got me. When they started singing the song I had tears in my eyes. And Ralph as a surgeon was such a great way to explain his absense lmao.
I missed Edwin/Lizzie/Marti. I think that was my only real let down with the movie. They didn't need to be in the whole thing but even a video call would have been nice :/
Career-wise I'm glad they went with Derek as a rock star and Casey as a lawyer. Even though Derek was the hockey guy, seeing him roam around as a rock star with his daughter really just fits his vibe. And I'm so glad the movie course corrected VWD Casey because I was never a fan of her dropping out of college to dance in NY like ?? sure Casey loves to dance but she loves to use her big brain even more!!! Plus fighting for justice?? THAT'S SO CASEY DASEY!!! So it was taboo then, I feel like it's even more taboo now, but had you lived it you would get it! These two always had way too much tension and never quite fell into a sibling-like relationship. They were insanely obsessed with each other making everyone around them uncomfortable, so they were destined to be messed up soulmates <3 It may be an ick for some and that's valid, but for me they'll always be "the exception the the rule" ;) Also Ashley and Mike were always pushing the limit on them, they knew what they were doing! Ok, so now that that's out of the way, I knew that we weren't going to get canon Dasey out of this, but I'm so glad the writers delivered on giving us some great Dasey content regardless. The fact that both Skylar's mom and Casey's hockey husband were both entirely absent and no love interest was given was wise. We basically got to see Derek and Casey play house and be the married vibes that they are which is honestly what us hardcore LWD/Dasey fans want anyway. Mike & Ash didn't miss a beat! That was really Casey and Derek back on my screen and it made me really emotional <3 Maybe the movie didn't have a whole lot of just them, since their children were the focal point but the way it ended, it just made me want more and feel like we were being set up for ...possible canon Dasey? But even if not canon, I think that if the show does get picked up, we can get so much fun Dasey content from it to build from anyway (canon is overrated sometimes lbr) Plus I genuinely enjoy seeing Derek and Casey in parental roles so that would be awesome. And SIMON MORE SIMON PLEASE!!!! <3

I wanna talk about Emerald and her possible friendship dynamics in Vacuo.
Oscar seems like an obvious one. He was the one offering her to join the crew last volume, and was pleased when she decided to do so. We already saw a few interactions between them and they make an interesting dynamic. So I wanna see more of them becoming friends.
Another character I feel like Emerald might connect with is Nora. They both are pretty similar in some ways: both of them were abandoned as children, and spent quite some time in the streets on their own, starving. Both of them based most of their personality in another person, the ones that saved them. And they both are currently figuring out who they are outside that person. So I think that if they became friends, it might be good for both of them.
Now, one that is least likely, but in my opinion, would make quite a lot of sense if it happened: Winter.
Winter and Emerald are quite different, yet they had similar arcs last volumes. Both of them started on the wrong sides. Both of them clearly wanted to leave said sides; Emerald has wanted to leave Salem for volumes now, and Winter was clearly uncomfortable the entire volume; the thing that kept both of them in line was fear and their loyalty towards their mentors, who they idolized. Both of them had to come to the heartbreaking realization that their mentors aren't the people they thought they were, and then they left. And, considering everything-- those two are probably going to feel out of place with the crew in Vacuo. Because, yes, Emerald seems to get along with Oscar, but he's known him for like a few hours, so they're not exactly friends (yet. Like I said, I wanna see their besties arc). Winter has lost Penny and Weiss, who were her only real connections inside the group, and considering she hasn't spoken to the rest of her family in years (can't wait to see her interact with them and become close again), things will probably be pretty weird between them. So, between having things in common and feeling out of place, if they give Emerald and Winter an opportunity to interact-- I actually think they might get along. Emerald might even start seeing Winter, in a way, as a new mentor, but a more positive one.
Now, again with this topic.
Already said on my previous repost that Winter and Cinder are actually very alike in some ways, that they have a lot of parallels and Winter represents everything Cinder hates but also, everything she wishes she could have been.
Now. You only have to see Cinder's reaction when she saw that Emerald was with RWBYJNOR and was clearly on their side now. She may have tried to hide it, but it surprised her. It bothered her. And it looked like it might even hurt her, because deep down she did care about Emerald (in a very fucked up way), because she saw a part of herself in her and now Emerald has left her, and she feels betrayed. So imagine how Cinder would react if she saw that Emerald not only left her, but that, in Cinder's eyes, she has “replaced” her with Winter Fucking Schnee. “Mad” wouldn't even cover it.

In keeping record of all the known operatives working for the Paul Drake Detective Agency during this re-watch, it is important to note that Paul employs female private detectives.
Yes, one of Paul's operatives is Nora Kelly. And she's actually in several scenes! She's not just a name!
To stress how important this is, I have specifically pulled statistics from The 1958 Handbook of Women Workers when TCOT One Eyed Witness aired and showcased Nora Kelly. Here are some important stats:
Occupations for women were not as diverse as today. Overwhelmingly so, clerical work is the most readily available job for women, which employs 3/5ths (or 60%) of all working women in 1958. Other high female-occupied jobs include teachers, medical/health care workers, retail, and service workers (think waitresses, cooks, and barmaids).
Despite the growth of women in the workforce in the fifties, the majority of all women in the United States were NOT in the workforce. 35% of all women in the United States were in the public workforce. 55% of all women in the United States were homemakers. The remaining percentage constituted girls under 20 years old and in school.
Being a woman in the workforce during this time was a minority occurrence. If you were a woman in the work force, there were specific jobs that were "socially acceptable", and this societal and gendered understanding certainly limited successful job diversity for women.
With this in mind, being a woman whose job is that of a private detective is certainly unconventional for the time. It is a job heavily dominated by men during this period. And yet, we have Nora Kelly working as a private detective for the Paul Drake Detective Agency.
For the television series, it certainly showcases a woman in a different role within the public sphere. Rightfully so, with none other than Gail Patrick Jackson as executive producer for the television series! We've her to thank for even getting this television series off the ground!
So, what does this say about the Paul Drake Detective Agency? Well, quite a bit!
As previously mentioned, Paul has operatives working for him across the States, and he is known (in canon) to give new agents a chance by hiring them and helping them get their start as a private detective. This idea of giving as many people a chance to become a private detective expands to Paul hiring female operatives during a time period in which women, if employed, had far limited job opportunities available to them than today.
It showcases the Paul Drake Detective Agency as a network of people who may or may not have been given a chance by others.
We further know that the Paul Drake Detective Agency is successful and prosperous enough for Paul to hire operatives across the United States. My season 1 re-watch has a running tab of 11 operatives working for Paul Drake, and I'm not even finished with the re-watch of season 1. That tab doesn't include other people working for the agency, including secretaries and phone operators working round the clock. That number would be more.
It is canonically stated that Paul Drake is a "famous private detective." Further, the Paul Drake Detective Agency is a successful operation through the number of people employed, the way Paul has money readily available for the agency in various ways, and through nation-wide recognition of the Paul Drake Detective Agency through Chester Gould's personal tribute to Paul Drake on his desk, among other examples.
The point in saying this is that Paul Drake chooses to use the success of the Paul Drake Detective Agency to pay it forward and hire detectives who may not be given a chance anywhere else. He uses the success of the agency to bring success to other operatives. And you know what? The Paul Drake Detective Agency is so good because of all the people who work there.

part flexible summary:
alrighty! sorry for the mild wait on this post! I got a few people wanting some backstory beyond what I have in my carrd ( of which I'll link this post in there for any future readers out there ) and had max and river encourage me to make it.
this is a post that summarizes the plot, events, and mechanics of a long-running plot ( spanning since early 2017 ) of our JJBA roleplay server. It began on tumblr, has been on discord for years, and I thought it would make a good addition to bring over here again due to the plot elements actually making interacting with characters from different parts ten times easier, as seen with kay and nora's parts 7 & 8 muses ( if you're reading this you two hi hello ily ). I don't have to make like 10 different verses or variations of verses and good chance hikari'll reference tumblr-based events in the discord. Might share some funny snippits of the discord server here as well <33
That being said, let me lead you on this fucked up and bizarre journey that spans 6 years in the most succint way I can possibly put it.
First off, read this. This PDF was put together by Max, and actually summarizes most things in the chat along with a few side jokes. Duplicate muses are explained as timelines folding into a main 'anchor' timeline ( the one of the original Stand user Conner MacCrimmon written by Moody ), with distinct enough variations on one person becoming seperate entities, and those that don't variate much just fold into their 'main' incarnation with a few new memories and experiences. There are three 'over heaven' muses in chat as a sort of 'pantheon', being Aster ( a version of Star Platinum seperated from a Jotaro ), 'Johtaro' ( a version of Jotaro ), and Cohnner ( a version of Conner who's the driving force behind timelines getting folded in-- originally loathed and tolerated, now with people being chill with him )
This also has the symptom of characters from other universes getting mixed the fuck in, which gives us the excuse to play muses from other franchises that are adapted to the world of JJBA completely. Shadow the Hedgehog? Who's that? Don't you mean Foundation Agent Shadow who's totally human and for his neutral special wields a gun? A few other characters I'll be mentioning in threads are Hoshi ( Foundation Archivist ) and Astrid ( Sees Everything ), written by Sci who y'all know already because they're amazing, Ollie and the aformentioned Shadow, written by the same mun of Aster who I linked above, Conner and Moody's other awesome muses, Avdol, Risotto Nero, and a few delightful OCs from the mind of Jules, as well as characters written by Athena, Kris, Rijolt, Kheti, Rani, Chickie, Viala, and Sun! Way too many to list here the cast is Very Colorful. But if you hear Hikari talk about another character in an internal monologue or something, good chance she's thinking about her buddies at work.
Now you may be asking me: clover, how in the goddamn does time travel work into all this?
Well, you may have read that bit at the end of the slide presentation about 'appearing anywhere' if you think about a place hard enough for ease of travel. This fluidity in spacetime has some caveats. Let me explain.
When first starting out in 2017 and lining all of our characters up, Hikari was actually the eldest character among the starting group of 5 muses. Cut to now and while she's aged normally ( at 24 now! ), Kakyoin is in his 40s, Astrid is in her late 20s, and iirc Yukako slipped in time as well. But to answer this, we need to talk about parallel universes.
kidding. kind of.
sometimes cohnner's weaving gets a little wonky and threads of time slip from the tapestry. This causes characters to slip out of time until its weaved back in. For these characters, life continues somewhat normally-- the Foundation may still be there, although people like Hoshi and Hikari and Astrid aren't, and until the fold mends, they're stuck in that timeline, aging normally. The holding record for character with the longest dip in time is both Tenmei Kakyoin and Aster at a whopping 12 fucking years.
To the main timeline, they were only gone for about a day. There was no real way to get back until the stars just happened to align, and the man jumped from late twenties to his forties in the span of 28 hours.
Existentially terrifying, right?
Well, with timeline explanations out of the way, I'm obviously not going to godmod and Hikari assume or know your muses, nor know the history if she happens to be stuck in a part that's in the past ( bt as in her non-bt verse, phantom blood, sdc, or golden wind ). She doesn't read those files anyway, and if she did I probably would go with her not knowing jack and/or shit. In the server its a different story, but I'm not gonna give Hikari multiversal knowledge.
There's also some mechanically different stuff, such as fusion as mentioned in the slide. Here's a slide in a similar style I made like a year and a half ago. Fusion is canon as per both DIU ( Stray Cat and Killer Queen ) and Jojolion ( something something oranges and lemons something something wall eyes something something josuk8 ), so naturally we all built something off of it and this was born after a bunch of workshopping. I'm so normal about fusions i'm so so incredibly normal. Extra body parts applies and there's some tongue in cheek references to su and dragon ball, but inherently its its own thing. Yes there's a ton of fusions with Hikari as a component in the list section shut up.
Currently, Hikari might be investigating strange events that coincide with Stand phenomena. She uses her side gig as a groundskeeper to hover around Morioh and gather info by ear. In other situations, she might slip into parts 7 or 8 due to them being entirely different universes due to being naturally around spacetime irregularities. Y'know, funstuff.
As always, I want to stress that if you do not want to work with this canon, you're absolutely free to tell me. We can do something entirely seperate from this. This is mostly background shenanigans that explains some of Hikari's thoughts and actions, and won't really come into play unless its plotted out, and due to the ease of working Hikari into threads using this as a basis, that's why its my part flexible verse. These aren't hard rules!
Thank you for reading!! If you want more clarification on anything stated here, pleaaaaaase send me an ask-- box is always open <33

The question seems to catch Rick off guard. He isn't used to being asked personal questions, since he doesn't exactly have a circle of friends with whom to share the facts of his private life.
From time to time one of the other guards comes and tries to nose about his business, but he shoos them away, and not very nicely, because he knows that they are fishing for information they can use against him.
He doesn't mind, though, he's not one to share much about himself in any case. Unless he's dealing with his best friend, but AR is an exception to many of his rules and habit.
Tumblr media
"Uh, w-well, of course I do. I-I have a family, back in my original dimension," he starts, pondering how much he should say. "D-Diane and I remained friends after the, uh, divorce, s-so I could travel around an-and still get news about her and Beth. I-I really miss her, ever since she..."
His voice trails off and he clears his throat, eyes dropping down for a moment. He has respected her choice to let nature take its course, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't wish that he could have cured her.
"B-Beth is happily married an-and she has a kid. Summer. S-She's a real firecracker, like her grandma was," he goes on and his lips twitch in a genuine smile, even if there's still a hint of sadness in it. "S-She's 16 and in full rebel mode. S-She drives Beth crazy, but well...teenagers, you know? S-She's smart and I know that she'll go far i-in whatever she chooses to do. I-I've taken her on a few trips, b-but Beth is very strict about that. N-No actual adventures till she'll be 18."
Of course his granddaughter isn't happy at all with that rule, but she can be soothed with gifts, so SR makes sure to bring her something cool or interesting every time he visits.
"T-Then there's...Nora. M-My Beth's wife. I-I can't say that I hold her dear, w-we barely get along, when we do at all, but...S-She makes Beth happy an-and she's a good mother to Summer. T-That's enough for me to want her around my family."
Good luck forcing him to admit that in front of his daughter-in-law, though.
"An-And then there's AR."
His best friend, the thorn in his side he just can't do without by now, the source of a lot of his exasperation, the spark that shakes his life.
Tumblr media
"P-People always thinks we're joking w-when we tell them that we're best friends an-and...I can't really blame them. I-I mean, I wouldn't believe it either in their place."
He and the black market dealer have almost nothing in common. They attitudes, their life choices, their mindsets...everything that makes them them, outside being Ricks, is different. Some would say even incompatible.
"B-But...we make it work. An-And damn, AR always says that he's the one who owes," Well, he doesn't say it explicitly, but it's obvious in SR's eyes, "b-but I feel like I owe him just as much. M-My life was fine before we met, b-but...looking back now, I can see how fuckin' boring it was." A pause. "J-Just don't tell him I said that."

Yes, I love gay villains a lot, and, yes, Hartley started out as a villain in comics (though he wasn’t supposed to be gay back then), and yes, I do like the TV version of him no matter how different it is from the comicsverse version... still doesn’t sit well with me that one of the only two canonically, textually gay dudes on the show (and the other one is a tertiary character at best) was introduced as Immediately Unsympathetic. Look, here’s this smug jerk whom all of his likable (and supposed-to-be-het) ex-colleagues can’t stand because he’s sooo mean to everyone who’s not his super shady employer! (Who might or might not sleep with him. Maybe. We’ll imply stuff but we won’t say.) Oh, but we soon find out that he tried to stop said employer from doing something horrible, the employer fired him and threatened to ruin his life - so he’s not all bad, and also has valid reasons for being angry, right? Yeah, well, now he intends to get at the ex-boss by murdering his alleged new boytoy - a.k.a. our main hero. (Who is actually totally straight and not anyone’s boytoy, don’t you worry, dear audience!) He spends the next episode being condescending to Cisco, being beaten up by Cisco (the crowd cheers), beating up Cisco (the crowd hisses and boos), then disappears from the show for the rest of the season... eventually comes back, gets redeemed offscreen, disappears again.
And if there were other canonically, textually gay characters in the main cast, none of this would be a problem. But there weren’t. Queer actors, yes. Characters? Barely-there Singh and special guest appearances by the guy nobody liked even after the offscreen redemption.
(Okay, then we eventually got Nora Jr., whom I love with all my heart, but she had complicated relationship with her mother (so a lot of other Iris fans hated her, unfortunately, which made me feel so alone as someone who likes both of them) and secretly worked with Evil Villain. And then died. And then somehow was alive again, but kinda wasn’t the same person... and not the part of the main cast anymore anyway.)

Time for the last episode. How are they going to fit four past speedsters into the Eddie-gone-evil show in a satisfactory manner? I... have no idea, but let's find out.
I've missed the episode starting voiceover + that specific music. Nostalgia points right there, with Barry asking "i need you to believe in the impossible" :D
So I like the implication that the N!SF took Zolomon from the Black Flash and restored him to being human again. Godspeed showing up and immediately starts posturing. And Zolomon starts posturing. Like evil speedster peacocks. Flirting a little too. Oh, there's Eobard. Coming downstairs because they're in Joe's house? For some reason?
I dunno, I mean, I assume Eobard was going through Barry's childhood room and making fun of his science fair projects. This place seems built from Eobard's hatred of Barry.
Godspeed - Any last words? Eobard - *actual line* Never wear white after labor day.
I also appreciate Eobard calling out Zolomon on copying his playbook and then calling him a V9 junkie. I mean, my Eobard survives because of Flashback series is gonna have Eo giving Zolomon shit about that too. (Not that Eobard has a leg to stand on given what the N!SF has been doing to him, but when has Eobard cared about being a hypocrite???)
Godspeed - I'm the one true god of speed. Savitar's armor - *appears* No, bitch, that's me.
Eddie - Welcome to the dead man convention. We're gonna have a Flash killing party. Who's with me? Eobard - I... don't have any faith in you, sorry. Eddie - What if I have a snazzy new suit and a scary voice? Eobard - I'm listening.
Iris is still having a baby. I don't think it usually takes this many episodes for one baby to be born.
HEY! THE BLUE FLOWERS. They're a bouquet that Eddie has brought for Iris. While she's in labor. So he can try to... steal her from Barry?
So after all the blue motif up until now and Eddie's lightning is still red. Disappointed.
Always do enjoy a good speedster battle. And hey! Nora again :D She's being born and she's showing up for the good fight. Double duty, that one.
Mark's tit's out again. Please dude. Shirt. Wear one.
(It's late and I'm getting sleepy. I think this is showing in my writing a bit.)
there's something a bit different about Zolomon's suit here - it's just... less creepy than S2? maybe they were doing something different with it in that season, but it's just slightly off looking now
Barry - Execute delta maneuvers. *actual line* Me - What the... is this Star Trek all of a sudden?
Admittedly... Barry is a Star Trek nerd. I'll give it to him.
I like how Nora beats Savitar. He almost kills her the way he intended to kill Iris, but because she's a speedster she can just... vibrate so that the sharpy pointy thing phases through her. And then she just stabs Savitar. Are we finally, finally allowed to kill the bad guys on this show???
Yes!
Cecile getting to be badass again. I don't think she actually killed hers, though.
Eobard showing up to annoy Chester. Eobard hates him just for being Team Flash. Very Emperor torturing Luke vibes. And Allegra one-hit-KOs him anyway. Honestly, Eobard just seemed annoyed, not personal, about dealing with Chester. I do think it would have worked a lot better if it had been Eobard vs Cisco again.
So... how does Hunter know that Khione is a goddess? Or even not Caitlin. Would have definitely preferred he mistook her for Caitlin and she got to correct him.
Hunter - I am the darkness. *shows off* Khione - *glances at Blaine, rolls her eyes*
Khione basically one hit KOs Zoom with his own lightning and Mark just stands there thinking he looks pretty.
Oh, Eobard isn't out yet, he's gonna do some more villain ranting.
I think maybe Eobard should have just run off to a motel somewhere with Savitar. That would have been hilarious. And less embarrassing for him than Allegra taking him out a second time in one fight. He, uh, probably should not have brought up Nash.
So I assume that while Allegra and Chester are kissing, Eobard slinks away to safety and calls it a strategic retreat.
Jay shows up and... steals Eddie's speed? A trick he picked up from his E90 doppleganger? (I really do need to finish watching that show...) Powers as the plot demands, I guess.
Oh, no slinking away for Eobard, he's been absorbed. By Eddie stealing the speed from all the other bad guys.
Barry - Let Eddie die? No. In fact, more importantly, fuck no.
(Westhallen can still win... not letting that go...)
Khione - So it sounds like a cycle of violence. You gotta break out of it, but my advice on how to do so is kinda crappy and nonspecific. Sorry. Barry - I am so tired of watching the people I love suffer and die. Khione - Coexistence! RaRaRa. Barry - *sigh*
It's really red inside the Negative Speed Force. Where the heck is that blue theme???
Barry just hug Eddie again. Hug it out, guys. Just hug it out.
They're really trashing the set, huh?
Barry - Don't you see you sound just like the guy you died to stop? Eddie - Oh shit. You're right.
I mean, it was out of character for Eddie to agree to be the bad guy anyway.
So Eddie destroys the blue crystal which, uh, turns the N!SF blue? I'm so confuzzled. But I guess Eddie was destroying the source of all the hatred in the N!SF? Yeah. Let's go with that.
Barry gets back to the hospital just in time for Nora to be born. :D
So Chester still has some cosmic energy and maybe powers. And that's only coming out now??? *sigh*
Nora hanging out for her birthday as in, sticking around to hang out with Team Flash while she's being born. Like normal Speedster do. (Where is Bart???)
Timeless Wells - Howdy. So, time to ascend to a higher plane. Khione - I gotta say my goodbyes first. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Iris looks very fresh and not-sweaty for having just pushed out a baby. I remember what my sister looked like post giving birth and she wasn't quite that make-up and hair done looking.
Joe singing!!!! to his grandbaby!!!!
I do still think Nora should have been a twin.
So, uh, I guess we don't get to see Timeless Wells with wany of the rest of Team Flash? That sucks.
Khione makes her goodbyes, ascends to a higher plane (in a very four elements sort of way that sadly does not result in a glowing squid like when Daniel ascended on SG-1), and she leaves a Caitlin behind... Barry sounds like he's about to cry when he hugs her. Blaine is hugged last. Almost thought she'd skip him.
Baby party! Is Nora attending her own party twice over? Yes. That dork. David Singh is there in the background, I think. Ohhh, Timeless Wells is there, okay. that's better.
Nora - oh if you think this was crazy, wait for Bart to be born. Barry & Iris - O_O
Joe proposes to Cecile which... I dunno if the baby party was the time to do it, but the way he does it is sweet. It is David! He's been hanging on to the ring for Joe. And Cecile makes him put a pillow under his bad knee before kneeling.
Really wish Cisco was here. He and Kamilla should be.
Aww, Barry's gotten the book the Runaway Dinosaur to baby Nora. :D
Barry getting to be a dad and hold his baby. Been wanting this for him since S6.
Barry choosing new speedsters! Avery Ho, Max Mercury, and Jess Chambers. (That last one makes me miss Jesse Wells though.) It's probably not gonna go anywhere since the show is done and the arrow-verse seems unlikely to get a new show (or shows) at this point. But I like the message that power like the speed force is meant to be shared and that as this chapter of Barry's story closes the Flash family is continuing to grow ever larger.
I'd love to know what Eddie's gonna do with the negative speed force in order to 'keep the balance with the regular speed force. But I guess we don't get even a hint. Personally, I say Barry and Iris date him, so we have the avatars of the two speed forces sharing the same lightning rod. That is how Westhallen can still win.
Nora gets to be Eddie's daughter after all, that way. And maybe she goes through a blonde faze that makes Eddie cringe in memory of what happened in the previous episode.
So, overall... it was not a bad end to the show. Eddie deserved better, but I knew that going in. Cobalt Blue was in name only, was pretty sure of that going in also. That first episode was a high point that the other episodes couldn't match and I can't say the final villains of previous seasons being made mini-bosses for Team Flash to take out was in any way satisfying, but it was kinda fun to see Zolomon one last time. Savitar didn't even take his helmet off but I guess they didn't want to try to do the facial scars again (or let Eddie realize he was teaming up with an evil version of the guy he was super resentful of). Godspeed i just never managed to care about to begin with (they kinda squandered his plot tbh). And Eobard - usually as EoWells - shows up practically once a season. So I never have time to miss him. And we did see the Matt!Eobard version in the first Ep.
Eddie being jealous of Barry worked, but wanting to force Iris to be in love with him or being power hungry didn't. So when it fell apart real fast, that only worked if I assumed it was just Eddie's real personality re-asserting itself because the N!SF's influence had been precarious to begin with. So basically the Cobalt Blue plot was kinda weak.
It held up better than Armageddon though. And had fewer blatantly obvious plot holes than Armageddon or Red Death. (We still. don't know. where batwoman was until she popped up to help kick Red Death's ass. this bothers me.)
I have things to say about Khione's arc, but that'll be a separate post. Tomorrow. After I've slept. It's almost 1:00am. So I guess I technically mean later today, but whatever. it is still 'Friday' until I go to sleep and wake up on Saturday if I say so. (my spelling is getting so bad, I've deleted and re-written and then re-deleted and re-written so many words now)
I'm sad the show is over, but at the same time really glad it's done. I know some of the fandom will move on, but I'll be sticking around for a long while and I know I won't be the only one. This show has been a wild ride and to those of us who will remain... the ending of a chapter does not mean the ending of the story. We will simply have to forge the next pages ourselves.

why i'm writing this story
So Nora's Return because many villainess stories involve transmigration rather than the original person traveling back in time. Of the few I know that involve the original person traveling back that I can recall off the top of my head, most focus on the villainess character simply avoiding 'death flags' and accidentally getting snared in plot or her original relationships or they give the villainess character some additional power to face the past (e.g., another life in the modern world becoming a doctor, an hourglass that reverses the past minute or so). The ones that don't do that usually have at least one other person returning to the past with their memory in tact. One doesn't fit into any of these categories and, in it, the villainess character focuses on improving herself and her key friendships and then uses her knowledge of the past to outwit the main antagonist. This one is probably the closest to Nora's Return. The others closest are the ones where others also regain their memory (though that won't happen in Nora's Return until the epilogue).
Note: This is just based on my memory. I have read a lot of these stories and several have blurred together. Also, I did not finish all of them either. Some stretch on a bit too long, imo. This does not include stories where the villainess grew up and belatedly received memories of a first life in which her current life is a novel or otome game. Those are closer than pure transmigration stories given she has built a life in magic world and isn't a new soul starting suddenly, but still different as they suggest the magic world is not real or that other worlds exist.
Also, all of these are in translation. If you're not into reading webnovels, light novels, or manga, you've likely not heard of any of these.
I think time travel fix-it stories have a broader appeal. I think stories focused on a young woman who is trying to both be a better person while also thwarting her enemies are interesting. I also like the emphasis on relationships (familial, platonic, and romantic) these stories usually have.
Also, I just want to read this story. I've assembled an outline and cast of characters I personally find interesting. I think flawed Nora whose perception is so terribly skewed at the start of the story is also a great character to get to know. She begins the story believing she has been totally abandoned by everyone she's ever loved. She won't discover until the epilogue, until the knowledge is no longer relevant, that the best friend who turned his back actually tried to intervene and, when that failed, wrote her brother to tell him what was happening. She learns that her brother who ran away at 18 tried to find a way to help her and, when nothing worked, used a dangerous magic ritual he didn't even think would work. He'd planned to go back in time himself. He instead sent her back.
True, she had no way of knowing any of this, but that's why she doesn't find out until the epilogue when her brother regains his memories on the anniversary of the ritual and her death.
Anyway, I can't wait to see how Nora grows and changes. She's still prickly and possessive at the start of the story and still willing to go a step too far in her goals, but she has decided that making friends is one of her best strategies for surviving if she fails to stop her aunt and uncle. Of course, friendship has a way of changing people. Notably, Nora feels more secure when she has more people she can rely on and her possessiveness shifts instead toward protectiveness.
But that's why I'm writing this. Because we need more time travel fix it stories. Because we need more villainess stories. Because people who don't read stories in translation really ought to start. Because I want to see Nora grow and change. Because I cannot wait to see her look when she finally exposes her aunt and uncle for every bit of harm they've ever caused.
And I'm writing this up partially to remind myself when I reach a more middlepoint of this story and am struggling to remember why I ever thought writing it was a good idea.
Dear Self: Just get the words on paper. The story idea is good. The characters are good. You can fix the rest in editing. Don't stop now. Love, Your Past Self

Book Review + Personal Reflection: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
Spoilers ahead!
Tumblr media
When I first saw the book “The Midnight Library” on my screen, I was intrigued and assumed it would be about a fantasy novel about an actual library. But I was wrong. The Library in the story represents the limbo a woman named Nora Seeds is stuck in as she decides whether to live or die. As I read the beginning of the book, I found it difficult to connect with Nora and be interested in the story. The content was depressing and Nora’s thoughts started to mirror what I had been thinking myself during this gloomy period of my life. I felt overwhelmed and scared so I stopped reading it for awhile (when I say awhile, I mean a few hours because I read this book in the span of 3 days). Nora had lost her job, lost all her connections with her family and friends and felt as if she had no future. She believed she had made all the wrong decisions in her life which led her to where she was now: alone and miserable with untouched potential. As a post undergraduate student, I resonated with Nora’s feelings about life and regrets about missed opportunities. This period of my life feels pivotal. At least, that is how I have come to understand it. The people I meet, the habits I practice and the jobs I work will determine my life in the future. But the future is also the product of the things we don’t do, the decisions we don’t make or the paths we don’t follow. Do I go back to school and pursue my masters? What happens in the future if I don’t pursue the education I'm supposed to or if I don’t pursue any at all? Will I regret not seizing my own potential? Will I be happy being comfortable? These are the thoughts that have been occupying my mind lately.
In the Midnight Library, Nora gets the opportunity to experience the lives she could have lived. A scientist in the Arctic studying glaciers and the relation to climate change. A famous rock star. An Oympian swimmer. A mom of a beautiful daughter and wife of a man that had previously asked her out for coffee in her root life whom she rejected. Each life, I wondered if she would stay. I really thought she would stay in the life she had with Ash and Molly. But it made sense that she didn’t. Instead, she chose to live the life she was already living with a new perspective. Nora realized that, even in the lives where she was glamorous and successful, she still felt unfulfilled.
We can’t dwell on who we can be or who we should’ve been. We can’t be everything. We are who we are at this moment in time. There are limits to The Midnight Library. After all, it is fiction. For one, Nora’s new perspective as the solution is the ideal situation. People have varying experiences with their mental health. Not everyone can treat their depression with a change in perspective. I have experienced that trying to see the situation at hand in a bigger picture helps- but it is a process and it is not linear and it is ongoing, sometimes it is even a cycle. For others, healing from depression is not so straightforward- if I can even call it that- and requires more than just a change in perspective.
Another thing I would like to share is how often I imagined a scene in on the big screen. This book has so much potential to be a film and I really hope it becomes one! I can see a sequence of Nora’s different lives and a cut somewhere in the middle displaying her and Hugo deliberating the possibility of their situation. As much as I found the beginning a little bit boring, which thinking about it now, was probably the intention of the author since Nora’s life was dreary and disappointing, the author did a great job in writing the story and narrating the transfers Nora experienced.
