you have been rotting in your bed for hours. you asked your boyfriend to bring you some extra feminine products just incase. he was quick to respond to your text. he sent you a text saying he would be home soon with everything you need. you sighed in relief feeling so thankful for him. you cuddle up into your blankets as you wait for your boyfriend.

you watch whatever dumb dating show you had on earlier. your pain on the first day differs but this time is was painful as hell. you took some ibuprofen but it hasn’t started working yet leaving you to suffer. you hear the front door open making you smile to yourself. you see your boyfriend with a bag from the store.

“i asked you for a couple things- baby you didn’t have to get all this.” you sit up to face him as he brings the bag over to your side of the bed. “i know you did. i wanted to get your favorite snacks and some more stuff just to make sure you have it. i’m sorry you don’t feel good sweetheart.” he sits on the bed next to you. he pulls you into a gentle hug as he rubs your back.

“how was your day other than that? did you rest mostly?” he massages your back looking at you for your response. “it was good. i was missing you all day. i was just watching tv and cleaning a little but i gave up on the cleaning very fast.” you smile at him as he smiles back. “yea? i was missing you too. don’t worry about the cleaning i will take care of it all.” he rubs your cheek softly as you lay against his chest.

“how did you come home so early? i thought you had long schedules today?” the two of you move to lay down under the covers together. he pulls you close as he faces you. “yea i had meetings mostly but we got done like right before you texted me so i was quick to get you things.” his hand is resting against your hip as he gently massages your side. “you’re gonna put me to sleep baby.” you laugh as you close your eyes.

“come here.” he says pulling you to kiss him. you kiss him back quickly melting into the kiss. he holds your side gently as he kisses you softly. “i really missed you.” you pout looking at him. “i really missed you too, honey. you were all i was thinking about during my meetings.” he smiled at you again. he leans down to plant a kiss on your forehead.

“i love you.” you sigh at the cramps you feel. “rest honey. see if you can nap? i love you more.” he looks at you with a soft expression as he helps you get comfortable. he rubs your back softly until you fall asleep next to him. he just smiles as he watches you sleep peacefully.

jungwoo woke up early that next morning to make sure you had enough food. he made you your favorite breakfast when he saw that you were slowly stirring awake. you watched him bring in your breakfast as you fully wake up. your cramps already kicking you in the ass in the first few seconds of you being awake. you sigh at the feeling but smile at your boyfriend.

“you ok sweetheart?” he sets the food down on the side table as he climbs back into bed. you kiss his lips quickly as you climb out of bed to go to the bathroom. “i’m fine! don’t you worry.” you smile back at him as you quickly use the bathroom. you come to your bedroom feeling a little bit better as you crawl next to your boyfriend. “you didn’t have to make this for me. thank you- wait what time is it don’t you have dance practice today?” you ask as you start eating the breakfast he prepared for you.

“oh yea! i do i just told them i had my girl to spend time with. we pushed it to this afternoon so i can stay with you a little longer. then i can bring home dinner for us!” he smiles at you softly. “how are you feeling though? need medicine, water, anything you need i will get it.” he smiles to himself as he feels the need to help you without thinking about it for a second.

“i’m feeling okay today- my cramps are killing already but i think i just need to finish eating this and it’ll help. thank you baby.” you smile back at him as you continue to eat. “ok. let me know if that changes. as for now i’m here to give you love.” he kisses your head as rubs your thigh softly. you finish your breakfast after a bit with a smile. you look over at your boyfriend to see him already looking at you. you start to tear up as your thoughts start to clutter your head.

“baby? what’s wrong?” his expression is a more serious one as he pulls you closer to him. “n-nothing- i just- you’re being so nice to me. i feel so shitty and here you are making me feel so much better- cooking me breakfast? jungwoo you are too much.” you start to cry as he holds you in his arms. “sweetheart i will do absolutely everything for you. you are my main priority. i don’t need anything else but you. i will always be here when you don’t feel good.” he kisses your cheek as more tears fall from your eyes.

“honey- i love you so much okay? come here.” he pulls you closer to him as he kisses your lips. you kiss him back as you feel him pull away. he kisses your tears and gently wipes them away. “my pretty girl. i love you more than you know.” he smiles at you sweetly as he rubs your hair back. “i-i love you jungwoo.” you sigh into his arms as you stop yourself from letting more tears fall. “you are the best boyfriend i could ask for.” he shakes his head.

“you’re the best girlfriend i could ask for. you deserve the best only you know that. i will never give you less than you deserve. now let’s cuddle until i have to go to practice, i don’t want to leave your side until i have to go.” you laugh at him shaking your head. “what about my online classes? i haven’t done any assignments for this week.” you groan thinking about your work. “don’t worry about it until i leave! when i come back ill help you he smiles kissing your head as you two stay tangled in each others arms for the next hours to come.

Really tempted to buy some C.ars stickers especially the reward ones that say like "good job!" And stuff on them but I also have major "I have to put this sticker somewhere special or else it feels like I'm wasting it" but I also have a journal and I could just put all the stickers in the journal so then they're not stuck somewhere like my bed or wall(especially when I'm gonna move out in like a year) and are always in a spot I can have.

Basically, I haven't found a reward system that's worked for me, course most my reward systems I set up were...questionable, but I love stickers, and I love C.ars, so I think it'll work out

But then again, for some reason whenever before I'm about to buy something I really love, I always get this really big thing of doubt about whether I should get it or not, and then once I get it I'm super happy JFNAJDJDJB Sometimes the happiness doesn't kick in till it arrives but it always kicks in so strongly.

also, this post is almost 1k words long because i ramble a lot 🏃 i present to u : me screaming and crying incoherently at a wall about another fictional character

AGGHSGADH this (to me) is kiri feeling like he, in all his lives, was idly living and being washed along as time just continues ticking and ticking, and he's constantly being forgotten and belittled by people who enter and leave and enter and leave his life so quickly....

and because of how "people are a mirage", he can't tangibly seek comfort in them, no matter how much he craves that human connection that keeps SLIPPING THROUGH HIS FINGERS WHEN HE TRIES TO GRASP IT!!!! so he turns to nature for it, "wind the soft skin (this feels like an awkward translation but i'll close one eye) / the star is a cradle"!! like.... nature is soothing, it's healing, it's nurturing, you get what i mean??

and idk how much of this is canon to his character, but i know that he had lived in the mountains before to run a lodge there, so i would say that he can seek solace within nature! (also he's the water omni lord, right, so if you put two and two together, it's not far of a stretch!!!)

if this tear answers your question of why i’m crying, it can't compare to the meaning of us finding each other

OH MY GOD. forming connections, finding people he can bond and share memories and feelings with, finding that warmth to hold and cherish and honour -- these are SO important to kiri, because of how much he has lost throughout all of his lives. because of the countless people he had to let go and the many regrets that i feel he had accumulated for eons.

and (this is a Big stretch) crying alone, which creates that image of hiding away; concealing this part of himself from the rest of the world, would not compare to being able to cry with the people he could form so many meaningful bonds and memories with. because even though crying is (sort of) inconsequential and momentary, the act of sharing pain with someone/many people is brimming with vulnerability and trust. and it's SO. SO. HEARTWARMING.

(oh dear i. am rambling a lot. i'll just share a few more interpretations of lines that stood out prominently to me, but jsut know that "i found a heart that trembles only when i touch your hand / how many meanings must we overcome to get there?" wrenched my heart out of my chest)

and i'm not saying this way of thinking is entirely healthy, but it does reveal kiri's desperation to find some kind of... validation (??) that has been very blatantly shown to us before (eg. accepting the dark core)

why do i feel like i've only been interpreting this song through kiri's,,,, not-so-positive sides.. because these lines could convey how his personhood embodies the accumulation of experiences and memories from his previous lives. like, he's lived through so much, and yeah it's possible for him to remember what happened in his previous lives. but every memory? every feeling? every person's face, name, voice, and every experience that he deems "precious"? (and i'm sure he finds all the memories precious)

it must hurt to not be able to honour and celebrate parts of his own existence that he can't tangibly remember...

it must hurt to know that that's what he must carry within himself, as someone who has lived through eons.

ok this one is... very, very farfetched and it probably makes sense to me only, but there's a vocalist for this song, right? (toaka!! she's phenomenal, and her voice is so mesmerising and clear...) there are also backing vocals (most likely sung by a choir?) that feel like the "kiri"s from the past, pushing present kiri forward, providing him with courage and conviction and hope, highlighting his voice filled with emotion, determination, an endless thirst for knowledge, a yearn to fully understand and accept both his present self, his past selves, and miserea, and a hope for a brighter, more promising future.

and though his voice may waver and he may be overwhelmed with his inner voice (and multitude of memories), he still wants to shine a light and celebrate the lives "he" had lived before, so he sings along with the many "kiri"s of the past!! (THIS IS MAKING ME VERY SENTIMENTAL, CAN YOU TELL)

also toaka's voice is so soft, so smooth, so gentle, so emotional... it's so KIRI!!! this is his singing voice, i rest my case.

Jacob was not a nervous person. He never got nervous and never felt awkward. But this was a trip to the coffee shop he'd frequented and he'd slowly started to get the shakes before every time. What the hell was wrong with him?

He knew what was wrong with him, his friends knew what was wrong with him. He had a crush. A crush on the pretty barista who served him every time.

The cafe had only been opened an hour but he was there and so were you. He realised you were there most days, with a smile and style.

The bell over the door dinged as he walked in and as you finished serving your customer. It was all quiet inside as he strode to the counter.

'Hi,' you smiled as the other customer walked away.

'How you doing?' he asked politely.

'I'm good, your usual?'

He grinned. 'You know it already.'

'Of course. Any plans today?' he knew you were probably just making conversation, but it still felt nice to talk to you.

'Nothing much, just got this book I want to finish.'

'Oh yea? What you reading?'

'Grapes of Wrath,' he said. He moved along the counter with you, keeping conversation.

'You know if you like Steinbeck you should try East of Eden, it's my favourite book.'

'Really?'

You went into describing the book and he listened intently, smiling at you as you got excited over the book. He came in with his own prompts too.

‘Sorry, im keeping up,’ You apologized, sliding his coffee over.

‘No please, I love to hear it. I’ve got nothing much on.’

‘Finishing a Book, very important business,’ You tell him.

When another customer walked in, it was his cue to leave, slowly and looking back at you like one hundred times.

Jacob opened the door, calling to you one more time, completely ignoring the customer that was there. ‘I’ll see you soon!’

You smile and blush.

Jacob had a mission.

Your cafe was busier by the time he got in around lunch. It had been a busy week and beside talking to you through instagram, there hasn’t been much chance of a chance to see you.

So boy was he gonna see you today. And he had a plan.

He walked in and couldn’t immediately see you but saw your co-workers, another guy and another girl at the counter. He lingered around. What if you weren’t working today? But he was sure you were, you were always in on this day.

He caught sight of you, talking to a couple out for lunch and he smiled, tapping the book in his pocket.

After you left them to eat their lunch, you strode over. He noticed the blush on your cheeks, he’s hoped you’d be just as nervous.

‘Hey,’ he smiled as you slid behind the counter.

Your co-workers wondered away, clearly trying to make it look as if they weren’t listening.

‘I actually brought something for you,’ he said, suddenly wanting to hide behind his cap.

‘For me?’

With a grin, he slid over Grapes of Wrath. ‘It’s my copy, annotated and that. I just thought you might like to read it.’

‘Oh my god, thank you!’ You practically caressed the book. ‘It’s so funny cause I actually have something for you-‘ then, you pulled out east of Eden. ‘My copy. Not quite annotated but there’s a line or two underlined.’

‘Oh woah,’ the two of you laugh about it, thumbing though the pages.

Finally, Jacob knew he had to ask. He couldn’t not. ‘Maybe, if you’re free- and if you’re up to it, we could meet up and chat about it- and other things of course.’

You watch, blushing.

‘A date!’ He suddenly announced. ‘I’m asking you out on a date.’

You nod. ‘I would love to go on a date with you, just let me know when, you have my number.’

Confused, his brows furrowed until you helped him. You flicked open the cover and on the first page of the book, your number was scribbled.

And he knew, he was in bad.

— You slowly blinked open your eyes, and sleep wanted to take over your mind until you realize the situation you were in after recalling that you got hit in the head.

You looked around the room, only to realize it was the room you last stepped into, which was, unfortunately, that disgusting room. Now that you had been bound to a chair in the room, you had a chance to take in this horrid scenery.

Although you were disgusted, you were impressed because artist!yan excelled in many different mediums of art and was top of the class in his first year. Drawings such as charcoal, mixed-media— wait a second— is that a scuplute that was two times your height?? When did that happen??? This is one of few times you put your brain to good use because you never even recall artist!yan asking you to be a model for a sculpture.

Just then, the door opened, and finally, you saw the perpetrator. He gasped before putting down the food tray he held in his hands and shuffling towards you.

"My love!! I am so sorry! You weren't supposed to see this room!!" He weeped pathetically as he dramatically fell close to your knees and rested his head on your lap, knowing that you couldn't even move due to how tight the ropes were.
