Every day in every movie, Stephen strange is the tackiest, corniest, hypocritical, arrogant, always unhelpful, biggest fucking loser character ever, and I'll never understand what people see in him.

can you tag your mid ass AI art so nobody gotta look at that crap thanks 🌹
My answer is "No."
And this is the line beyond which my patience finally ceases to be patient.
@docty-strange If you can't see beauty, then maybe you shouldn't force your radical opinion on those who don't need it.
AI is a tool with which a person can translate his ideas, his thoughts from words into an image, a way for an artist to create something in a style different from his own and sometimes adopt an idea, a well-generated fold of a patterned garment or something similar to use already in what he draws with his own hands.
This is not an enemy, not a devil, it is not even intelligence, it is a tool, like Photoshop and other programs, including programs that people use to improve the quality of screenshots and photos, by the way.
Tumblr media
I am old enough to remember heated discussions about the idea that digital artists are not real artists, but just hacks. And although I'm not old enough to remember the Luddites, I'm sure they had very similar rhetoric when they broke machines that only improved people's lives.
Every time something new appears, most people perceive it as a threat. There are still people who blame smartphones and computers for all human ills, just as a few centuries ago fanatics believed that the devil sat in the clock and turned the mechanism. I think our ancestors, who first began to use sharpened stones instead of fists, were also perceived as something strange and threatening. But this is just progress.
Tumblr media
The world is changing. AI isn't perfect, it has a problem with human fingers and there are some legal issues that need to be ironed out, but this thing allows people to create beauty that wouldn't otherwise exist. AI helps in scientific calculations, including medical calculations, and much more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, and thank god I don't have to buy marble, hire a sculptor, and figure out where to find space for a Strange statue in my apartment, because I can see what such a statue would look like with the help of AI.
Tumblr media
But pestering other people with all sorts of nasty things and demanding that they do as you would like is unacceptable. Seriously, when haters come to my inbox, most of them are homophobes who claim that Stephen would never love a guy and demand that I stop disgracing him, or with statements like that.
Tumblr media
AI can make beauty, but you can only produce hatred and bother people with your demands. If you don't like it, don't watch it. That's how the Internet works.
Take it back 🌹 You know what to do with it.

I am really getting annoyed with people said "loki is just narcissistic person, strange is just arrogant doctor, Wanda is just selfish crazy", okey they are lie that more than that but somehow everyone forgetting that they have trauma and pain(not justify bad actions but still) and they keep insist that they need getting more punishment.
Then we have stark, yeah we know him and if someone say he is just arrogant selfish billionaire other standard will say he ore than that and they said stark didn't deserve punishment what he did , really?
I am have to say I have one fanfic not Wanda friendly but I take theme in MOM because how I hate Wanda in MOM (thanks Waldron make me hate Wanda) from all her on screen MOM is in my hate list.
Also you can see how many Wanda, loki and strange got punishment in fanfic rather than stark, they justify his actions.
They never cared to humanize Stark's victims. We just had that woman in CW who was written horribly and to make matters worse, Stark was framed sympathetically in that scene. Go figure! And of course that scene is followed by him claiming the entire team has to be """held accountable""" (not just him, the team) and when some of them push back he's shown to be the rational one. What a joke.
With that kind of absolute narrative protection, is it any wonder so many people claim he feeling bad for 0.2 seconds is enough?
Whereas with Wanda we know the names of the people she hurt, we heard them speak and explain how much pain they were in. (I always laugh every time I see someone claim WandaVision was on Wanda's side.. lol no).
In Loki's case, his whole past and characterization were retconned and simplified by Waldron and Feige, and those around him were framed in a positive light while he was shown as an evil character who will always have to be paying for his mistakes. Odin, Thor, Sylvie, Mobius... none of them are held accountable so the difference in framing is even clearer.
And with Stephen, he's so unlucky that he got his own movie taken from him and once again his story was simplified for some reason I do not understand. His pain, sacrifices, his story are an afterthought in MoM and ironically enough, he was written miles better in NWH than in his own film. And of course, we got other characters telling him he's evil, he's selfish, he's a villain, bla bla.
In short: he's defined (negatively) by others. Just like Loki. Ever see them defining or defending themselves? Nah. If they defend themselves they're "arrogant" and "narcissistic" 🙄
So I'm not surprised those three are treated like crap by the fandom while Stark is praised to the heavens and back.
Stephen, Wanda and Loki are not perfect. But the thing is... they don't need to be. In fact, they shouldn't be. That's what makes them so interesting, it's what sets them apart from the clear-cut heroes. What we should be getting about them is the why they're not perfect + the circumstances behind their actions and beliefs, those are crucial when it comes to morally grey characters. Otherwise we just end up with "they did x so they're y" bullshit writing.

Throwback to this hysterically tone-deaf scene that very nearly made the final cut of Endgame.
In case you forgot, Tony did the following to these people:
Bucky was beaten within an inch of his life
Steve’s image was tarnished and his heroism stifled
Sam was shot point-blank when he gave up his freedom to help Rhodey
Wanda’s parents were killed because of his criminal negligence, her brother was killed by his creation, her freedom was taken because of his stubborness, delivering the Time Stone to Thanos rendered her sacrifice meaningless, and his refusal to undo the Blip led to all the trouble she caused afterwards.
Peter was blackmailed, groomed, neglected, and manipulated
Strange was forced into an impossible situation because of his refusal to turn the ship to Titan around
Bruce was strongarmed into helping create a murderbot, and then Tony sided with Thaddeus Ross to hunt down people like him
Clint, the man in the fucking thumbnail, is the guy whose secret family was exposed to Ross by Tony.
WHY THE HELL DID ANYONE THINK THIS SCENE WAS A GOOD IDEA?!?!?!?!?!
I was planning on waiting until the 4-year anniversary of this scene being released, but I’m feeling particularly spiteful today.

GASP
In my AU, idk about anyone else's, but in my AU, Donna dies when Stephen is just starting highschool. Eugene turns abusive afterwards, usually pretty drunk and just. not good.
When Stephen is an adult and acting as a parent to Peter... when he finds out Flash's real name is Eugene... Stephen flips. He knows the name doesn't matter, but it pisses him off that Peter is going through the same kind of bullying that he went through at Peter's age.
So anyways both Tony and Stephen (more Stephen) understand what Peter's going through and it breaks their hearts because they were in the exact same boat at Peter's age.

I love Doctor Strange (Comics version) and I really want my MCU friends to like Doctor Strange, but they said, he is immature, arrogant and too prideful and a copy of Tony Stark...(were talking about the MCU here) Anyways, I just want them to open their eyes and appreciate Doctor Strange overall character (Comics version here). But I don't know how to explain it or sum up my thoughts on why I love such a character.
If they don't want to touch comics, then I'm afraid I can't do much to help them realize how much of an altruistic, caring and lovable character he is outside of the MCU. MoM is a complicated movie that only fans are capable of reading into his layers and see his growth as a character. It's understandable in DS1 since it's his origin/self-journey as a hero, but I've had my criticisms towards his characterization since IW (which was a very unpopular opinion when the fics went BOOM). Even NWH, which is a movie that I simply ADORE, didn't spare Stephen's arrogance from murdering his true characterization.
What I caaaan do is offer recs for beginners, as I often do. You can check my guides on my pinned posts (need to update them but I'm working on it asap). But if they don't want to go for a Tonyfication that may appear in v4, I'd go all way down to DODS + Strange v3 + DS v6. I know he isn't the protagonist in Strange v3, but it's part of the story, and maybe seeing how Clea praises Stephen's capacity for love may change their perspective?
I don't know if they're willing to read my articles either but well, they exist for a reason, which is newcomers to have a chance and learn that he isn't exactly what the MCU has been portraying lately.
In any case, they're welcome here if they want to learn more! I too changed my mind on many characters throughout the years and even learned to love them with given time and proper reading. It demands a little bit of effort but this is what I do when I'm hyperfixated on my faves haha
You're also welcome here, we gladly built a safe community to show our love for the disaster wizard 💜 Other than that, this is the farthest my persusion goes haha
I rest my case, your honor.

Wanda: You messed with reality too! How come no one hates you?
Stephen: Because a child's life was in danger as well as everyone around him. Also two other childrens lives were ruined in the process. I acted out selflesness. There was nothing in it for me. I lost the memories I now shared with a friend as a result. Lastly, I never held a town hostage despite being aware of my actions.
Wanda: You messed with the grimoire too! Why doesn't anyone hate you?
Stephen: A kids life was in danger as well as the multiverse as a whole. I sacrificed myself to stop you and in the process possibly became corrupted by the book. I read the book out of selflessness to put an end to all the deaths and harm you were causing. I didn't do it to kidnap children from an alternate reality while trying to murder a young girl.

not to split hairs or whatever but wanda isn’t even a full-on villain in multiverse of madness, she’s an anti-villain. she’s been influenced by the darkhold and her own incredibly traumatic past, leading her to believe that what she’s doing isn’t wrong but is simply her taking what happiness in life she thinks is owed to her and that she thinks she can get. is what did objectively wrong? yes, but she didn’t know that. the moment she realized it, really realized it, when she looked in the faces of her terrified children, she stopped and corrected her course. if wanda were truly evil, she would have wanted america’s power in order to inflict evil on the world or something along those lines, and she wouldn’t have stopped just because her kids were afraid of her. but that’s not what happened, because at her core, wanda is still capable of good. misguided, misled, and deprived of stability, love, and safety, but still can be good.

I am not really watching what if season and just see a few clips each ep but I have to say it's disappointment. I meant what without Peggy Carter that exist in almost each ep?
It's so annoyed, in season 1 it was good because each eps are different from each other it's like analogy but make Peggy exist in each ep it's destroying it. Also what with strange supreme that became evil again?
I know he in grief and he not thinking straight and he have literally demons in his body but why so sudden? I meant in what if season 1 strange supreme look depressed but he somehow still polite and decent and he no want destroying other universes again to restore his universe but they made him be villain in what of season 2 with same motivation bring back Christine ( and universe), that just lazy writing
Also Peggy in season 2 look to much have pride and all arrogant, in season 1 she look decent. Ugh, I know the good thing in mcu will end up disaster
I'm probably biased here but I always thought Saint Maggie was extremely arrogant in the way she handled herself. I haven't seen S2 but from what I've heard, she's even worse now. She always had narrative protection but this is nonsense, they doubled down and their obsession with her is off the charts (three appearances in two years? Seriously?).
They have reduced Stephen to a character obsessed with Christine. Steve is a sexy lamp with the only purpose of kissing Saint Maggy's ass. And this is supposed to be empowering? For who?
When we complain about love interests we usually refer to female characters, yes. But if it's done to male characters it doesn't make it any better, especially when both Steve and Stephen have so much more to give.
It's not just the unacceptable disregard for Sam, what exactly is Steve's legacy at this point? A dumb statue of Liberty with the shield? One foolish and slightly insulting musical? Gossip talk about his virginity? Everything Steve did for over a decade... all that for this?
And with Stephen, his countless sacrifices, the fact that the universe still standing is thanks to him and him alone, the thankless nature of his work, his solitude... all reduced to an obsession with an ex. There's nothing wrong with grief and when told well it can make for a glorious story (like WandaVision) but from what I've been told they didn't do that with him. They simply took Strange Supreme, acted like he had been playing the long con all along and the ep focused on other characters fighting him like he was a villain, and of course no one cared when he died (so, basically like Waldron did with Wanda in MoM).
Dunno, What If was supposed to be something else. It was meant to address the characters we know, change something about their story, and give us a glimpse of what could have been if they hadn't experienced the same things they did in the MCU. But Feige got carried away and now What If is just another 9-long ep trailer for the upcoming phase. And they still wonder why it's not working...
