Messing With Remnant: BTC AU Bit - Part 1/3

Author’s Note: Hi hello hi hello HIIIII

I’m finally writing something for this AU. Finally. Fucking finally. Oh I’m so ill.

Idk if the events described in these little oneshots will actually happen but for now their purpose is simply to showcase the dynamics among the characters. For actual canon BTC characters, I’m gonna try to stay as true to canon as possible with what little info I can get. As for River, the relationships between her and the canon characters are.. headcanon?? I think??? Idk.

Also yes I do mention River having games on her phone and I’m just gonna give an explanation for that now cause it’s not much of a spoiler lmao: she does NOT have any kind of internet or signal. The most she can do is use her notes app and listen to already-downloaded music. And play the tons. And tons. And tons. And tons did I mention TONS of no-wifi-required games she’s got on her phone. So yeah she may or may not use that to distract Tom every so often when she and Springtrap embark on their mischievous little evil terrible endeavors.

(I swear I have an explanation for Tom being able to interact with objects she gives him I will talk about that within either the second or third part).

But yeah BTC Springtrap has infected my brain and I will never forgive @skeletoninthemelonland for that. /lh /j

Pure energy.

That’s what it looked like to her, anyway—it was the only way she could think to describe it—even though she already knew from the start that this would go much deeper than that. She’d have been shocked if Springtrap of all people knew exactly what it was, though, let alone be able to articulate it in a way another person could understand.

She couldn’t pinpoint exactly why, but she was almost drawn to it, having recalled a vague, childhood memory of fire, how it pulsated and flicked around wildly despite being contained within the constricting wick it was lit upon.

Whatever this energy was: it reminded her of that.

Unlike fire, looking at it sort of hurt her eyes…

“What are you doing?”

She blinked, flinching back to reality. Without realizing it, she’d begun to reach out to it. “Uh…”

That was all she could muster. Springtrap rolled his eyes and lightly smacked her hand away.

“You didn’t hear a word I said,” he sighed irritably. “Did you?”

“You were talking?”

He smacked his right hand against his eyes, grumbling to himself. “Do you ever take anything seriously?”

“Absolutely not,” River replied without missing a beat, flashing a grin. “You should know this by now.”

“Well, what I was trying to say,” Springtrap said, taking a step toward… whatever it was and lowering his hood. “That this is what I mentioned yesterday: remnant.”

“I mean, I guess I see why you’re so obsessed with it now,” she shrugged, lowering the hood of her cape, as well. “It’s kinda pretty.”

“Oh, yes!!” Springtrap exclaimed, suddenly in a weirdly sing-song voice drawling with sarcasm every syllable. “Because I’m obviously dedicating my life’s work to this substance just because it ‘looks pretty’!!”

He paused, then said, “Stop taking me for some moronic, shiny-object-obsessed kleptomaniac!”

“...I mean I was tryna be nice by not mentioning your crazy hoard ‘o metal parts, but—”

“Moving. On.”

River snickered to herself before turning back to the remnant. “Yeah, yeah. So… what is it, again?”

“You wouldn’t understand,” he said, to which she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “That isn’t the important part yet, anyway; what’s important is what I- we can do with it.”

“Skip to the part where ya actually elaborate on somethin’ for once, please,” River interrupted. “I don’t know how long my games are gonna distract Tom and co. for.”

Springtrap heaved a pointlessly dramatic sigh once more, shaking his head. “Fine, whatever. We use it to generate power; that’s the most basic the explanation can get, at least. But I take as much as I can to use for… research purposes.”

“Real convincing, Spring,” River said, wearing a sarcastic smirk.

“I thought I told you not to call me that.”

“I won’t hesitate to get Tom to start saying ‘Springle’ again.”

Springtrap went back to the subject at hand, but his eye twitched rapidly. River thought he’d pop a vein, if… well, if he had any that still worked.

“Based on what I currently know about remnant—albeit my knowledge is a bit limited—I have a theory that it may help you.” He paused again, absentmindedly scratching the side of his head. “Though I can physically interact with it just fine, I’m unsure what sort of effect it would have on actual, living matter.”

“Is this your lame attempt at convincing me not to touch it just ‘cause you want it?”

“Of course I want it,” Springtrap scoffed. “But I’m being serious, kid! I don’t know enough to just let you grab it out of the air right when it appears!”

“Then why did you bring me along?!”

“Because you need to know about it if you have any hope of returning to wherever you came from!”

Out of spite, River glowered up at him, holding eye-contact as she reached her hand out and grabbed the remnant, clutching it in her hand as tightly as she possibly could.

It burned. It was as if she’d shoved her hand into actively boiling water. She couldn’t take her hand away from it, because it’d already faded from her grasp. Not that she ever had been, but the feeling traveled through her veins as if she’d been bitten by a snake that wouldn’t retract its fangs, or struck by lightning with a metal rod in hand. This was about how she’d imagined it at least.

She couldn’t even scream. Her voice was caught in her throat. The tears that streamed down from her eyes stung her skin. All she could do was stand there, but even that became too much, and her knees buckled under her weight.

All noise dulled, the last of them she could only just barely make out being Springtrap yelling her name.

I’ve been lowkey stalking your page cause with the new KFP movie coming so too has my love for Kai. He’s just. HE’S SO?! HE’s so bro he is so-

Not even just like RAUGH. As a character he has so much depth and there’s so many things you can explore about him (as you’ve done, I think Yuelong is so wonderful!!), I love his personality, his place in the story as what happens when both Yin and Yang are left unchecked for so long and they need to clash to better remind themselves who they are. And of course his voice is just sooooo, both his voice and his design is just…sheesh 😮‍💨 (thank you J.K simmonssssss) he’s so perfect gaugh.

Anyways, thank you for being like one of the sole content providers for this man, if I had time, I’d start writing my own x reader’s for him. But all the rambling aside, I was wondering what you think the dynamic would be like with him as a Spirit Warrior and like a wandering, stubborn ram with a spiritual streak who could like astral project to and fro between the mortal realm and the spirit realm. Her visits aren’t too long in the spirit realm, but enough to explore the place, and probably accidentally sneak into Kai’s place of residence.

Cause I can only imagine Kai’s shock and bewilderment at someone in his space that seems…out of place? They have swords do they expect to threaten him, seriously? Why is their chi like that?

Hemhem- anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm so happy that my content has fed someone else as much as it has fed me lol. I had to make the content I wanted to see in the world, and that was of this guy XD.

Now that question:

I think Kai would be extremely surprised to see someone that's well...there, but not quite. Someone in the Spirit Realm, but not dead and not a mortal somehow transported there...or at least, not physically transported there. Where is the chi that he can take?- There's only this ephemeral veil of it before him, but infuriatingly out of his reach. How dare you dangle this chi in front of him and not even be decent enough to actually be there for him to take it! Oh please, swords- what are you going to do, goatie ghostie? Poke him with them?- As if.

I think past his initial bewilderment he would start mocking her, trying to goad her into actually appearing physically, or just to annoy her to amuse himself and pay her back for the annoyance she unwittingly caused him. He even threatens her a few times, telling her that once he gets out of the Spirit Realm- and he will, it's only a matter of when- he'll track her down. He's reserving a spot for her on his belt.

And when he does break free of his exile in the Spirit Realm, and does track down her physical form...well, I'll leave that to you. ;)

-OK, OK, no- no, you know what? I can just imagine what happens when Kai finally actually does make his way to where she actually is. Just...I have it so vividly ingrained in my mind. There's a knock on the door, it opens, and he's just there smirking down at her all "Hey, guess who just got out of the Spirit Realm?"- And then there's this moment on her end where she realizes she really messed up, because you know she was probably talking alot of trash to him when she was astral projecting- but she is absolutely willing to back it up and throw down with him, which Kai gladly accepts.

What happens afterward?- I'll let you decide.

But the entire interaction at that point would be hysterical to me, and honestly does have alot of fun potential.

Snippet cuz I can't resist:

The ram looked up at him in mind-numbing shock. Kai smiled and spread his arms.

Then he settled down. His glowing green eyes seemed to bore into hers. All the joviality from before dropped, save for a cold insouciance.

"Honey, I'm home," he sang, and then promptly laughed, tossing his head back and clapping his hands together. The ram could only stare up at him.

"...Well?" He said, "Aren't you going to invite me in?"

Only the hard habits of etiquette led her motion, puppeting the hollowed out husk of her body- and that was the saving grace that kept her from breaking. Her mind refused to process this at all; he had been trapped in the Spirit Realm, herself just an astral manifestation, when they had met- and now he was here, and she was making him tea- tea, as if he were just a regular guest.

The strange things the mind resorted to in order to keep sane.

Kai watched her, sitting at a low table in the center of her cabin home. The small teacup she lent to him seemed especially so in his hoof- but then again, he seemed especially large in her house. She took her seat across from him, sipping at her drink. It was then she noticed, during that long, quiet interval, that he never touched his- maybe he had forgotten how, or maybe he had no need of nourishment.

Or maybe chi was enough.

His eyes had never once left her. The glow of them felt like it would burn her if they gleamed any brighter. She inhaled softly and put her cup down.

"How did you get here?"

His eyes widened, and he smiled, tilting his head to one side, childish in gesture and tone, another form of mockery. "How?" He said.

He pointed to the assortment of jade amulets hanging at his waist, next to the twin blades also holstered there, and the ram could see the powerful aura surrounding each of them- could practically hear their souls screaming from within for release, and it made her nearly sick with the realization; no surprises, he had mentioned as much before- threatened her with it, in fact, when she had pressed his patience too far with sardonic remarks. She sipped her tea again.

"...Got a nice collection going, I see."

"So you know why I'm here now," Kai said.

He leaned over, ever so slightly. The air of the room became tense. Predatory.

The ram froze, immediately aware that the taut string drawn between them was about to snap. Still, she had always been stubborn: she held her ground, watching him in silence with as much wariness as he watched her. Kai smiled and slid his cup slightly over, leaning to rest his forearm full on the tabletop, leaning closer to her.

"You had alot to say in the Spirit Realm. When I couldn't touch you..."

His other hoof reached out, slowly, cupping her chin and jawline with a gingerness that should not have been able to come from such a brutish form. It was only a deception, though; just a touch, just to remind her that he was real, just to hammer home the potential of the threat he now presented. His tone was low, a mere rumble on the thickening air.

"...What have you to say now, Ghostie?"

She caught her hitching breath. Then she snatched her chin out of his grasp and held it higher, stubborn as ever.

"I say: I don't take back a single thing I said in the Spirit Realm," she said, raising her brows at him defiantly. Kai's eyes widened, but then he grinned. He slammed both of his hands down on the tabletop, making the clay tea set jump and rattle.

"Shall we take this outside, then?"

"We shall."

"You have your little knives?"

"They're swords! And they're more blades than those glass pokers you have on you!"

"They're jade- But we'll see for ourselves which are the better blades, won't we?- Here's a hint: they're mine."

"Nuh-uh!"

"Come prove it, then- and it better be worth my time. I didn't come here all the way from the Spirit Realm for nothing, after hearing all of that talk from you."

1. Black Butler<3

It would've been incredibly distasteful to not put this beauty on top of my list. I have been a fan of this one since 5th grade, the literal backbone of my insanity.

I may complain monthly over the agnoizingly short chapters, but the narrative and storytelling in this manga is one of my favorites ever.

Although you didn't ask, I have the need to mention: Ciel Phantomhive is my child!!

And yes, I am still awaiting Prince Soma's return.

2. Bungou Stray Dogs!!!

What a crime it would've been if I didn't mention the reason my account grew in the first place!!

BSD has such a special place in my heart. Tbh bsd saved me during the downfall that was 2021.

I think people who aren't new to my blog know I'm a sucker for Soukoku. I've made extensive analysis on their relationships for 3 years now. When will this brainrot end!?!?

3. Berserk

Let me make one thing clear!!! I am NOT a berserk reddit fanboy who completely ignores and neglects the narrative of this story in order to fill whatever inner void that needs to be filled.

I am suuuper passionate about the Golden Age Arc and the Pre Eclipse era of Berserk, it would be impossible to shut me up about it.

I could go on billion rants about Griffith's character and his actual complexities throughout the narrative. (no, he isn't emotionless, that would destory the whole point of the story lol)

Also I want to give a not-so-subtle shoutout to @bthump for validating every single thought I had while reading Berserk and always providing textual evidence. Thank you for being the light in the darkness of this fandom!

4. Death Note

sighs yes I am still in the fandom of an anime that has only one season and ended so poetically that it makes perfect sense that it doesn't have a continuation yet my brain screams for content when obviously it will never happen.

Before anyone asks, I am not team Light or team L, both of them are selfish people and used others lives in order to beat one another.

I am a constant defender of the fact that the Death Note consumed Light. Not only is it textually stated; but it's visually stated

(Light's eyes get wider and more innocent looking for a reason when he forgets the death note guys!!!)

Anyways, this story is absolutely awesome and I think most people can agree with that.

I don't rewatch this anime often, but when I do I get shooked by the big brain plans and big brain confrontations lmao.

5. Moral Orel

"MORAL OREL SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CANCELLED!! FOOLISH PEOPLE FEARED IT SPOKE TOO MUCH FACTS" I scream into a void, tears fill my eyes as losing my religion by R.E.M plays in the background.

Seriously though, I love this show; a literal masterpiece. I don't think theres any show that made me incredibly concious of how my own family's dynamic worked as this one did.

Has amazing takes of the human condition and contains life long lessons.

I once made a long post about the generational abuse of moral orel if you want to check it out!

Anyways, if you haven't had the glorious chance to watch this masterpiece. PLEASE DO!! I BEG!!! The whole series is out on youtube!

6. Sonic!!!!

I never post anything sonic related on my blog, but I adore Sonic! Not only my childhood, but it continues to pump off amazing content and games.

Fun fact: I have a cute mini sonic keychain my friend gifted me, I take it with me everywhere!!

DID YOU KNOW THAT KELLIN QUINN FROM SLEEPING WITH SIRENS WAS INVOLVED WITH THE SONIC FRONTIERS SOUNDTRACK!?!?!? AAAAAAA I LOVE SONIC GAMES MUSIC AND ITS DIVERSITY

Nobody asked, but my favorie character is Knuckles and Shadow for anyone who wants to know! (No one wants to know but I HAVE THE NEED TO SAY IT.)

anyways yes, I love Sonic, I am at arms-lenght with the fandom since i'm... well... not much into the furry stuff that goes on. But theres lots of fanmade content out there that is super cool!

dude I love you I am hugging you. Let me do a little breakdown of my thoughts on this very good film

Incidentally, if you’re wondering, in the Tom Cruise Ranking^tm I would put this one just under EoT. It’s tough cause it’s a more fun watch than EoT but EoT left me with more to think about and had less flaws overall imo

Also arc since you still haven’t answered the discord server question….hmmm. idk if this would be a draw for you. but! to my tastes tom cruise is at his sexiest in this movie. He’s just really charismatic and endearing and hot in this role what can I say. Roy Miller is such a joy to watch on screen because he’s deeply campy and the movie doesn’t take him seriously, but TC brings this depth and flair to him that makes him feel like a guy, not just a parody of one. And when the movie starts bringing in depth to him as a character it never feels forced because TC’s performance has made him feel real from the beginning. Usually when I see characters that are this balls-to-the-wall charming and bizarre, they don’t work once the movie brings them down to earth. But it really works here

I also really loved another character (i want to avoid giving too many spoilers) who Roy is protecting, his dynamic with Roy was a great grounding element cause his acting style was so different (fantastic actor) and worked both as another eccentric personality and also a dose of realness. His friendship with Roy was the soul of the movie tbh and I would do anything for either of them

Knight and Day is also really fun to watch as an MI fan because Roy is so clearly Ethan Hunt inspired. He’s like Ethan if you take away all the visible trauma and add a totally different kind of visible trauma that makes him funny as hell instead of soft and tired. Both of them are autistic, both of them are aggressively competent and armed and dangerous but find time to be Really Nice to people, both have a habit of picking up strays. I’m talking a lot about Roy here cause I’m kinda in love with him but Cameron Diaz is fantastic in this movie too as June, she has a difficult job of being “incompetent who becomes competent over time” and she sticks the landing in a way that feels fun and doesn’t make you think too hard about how she knows how to fire a gun now. I really liked her dynamic with Roy, they had great chemistry and seemed like they genuinely enjoyed each other in a simple nice way. And there were a few emotional beats between them that hit for me ngl. TC is so gorgeous in this movie that at certain points I was marveling at her ability to not kiss him already.

The only issue I had was this one joke I really didn’t like and they tried to bring it back at the end to gender reverse it which I guess they thought would make it better but IMO it didn’t. The rest of the movie was good enough for me to overlook the joke but I was irritated by the joke it’s actually the reason I would rank EoT ahead😭 (if you’re cool with spoilers, also some no-fun kinda dubcon stuff ahead: there’s a thing where it’s implied Roy changed June’s clothes while she was unconscious, and she gets pissed at him and tries to punch him but it’s played for laughs. Later she does it back to him and it’s near the end of the movie which makes me think someone involved with this movie thought that joke was really funny. Anyway that’s The Flaw of the movie)

Anyway these are my thoughts on the movie such as they are. I would do anything and I mean anything for Roy Miller especially Roy Miller in a tux. If you do end up seeing the movie I would like to request that you please let me know what you think of it

So I've been seeing people actually defend Tigerheart's actions and I just can't! I really wonder if any of these people are PoC or even know what an invasion means for the ones being invaded! To make things worse, they're basically saying he's justified because RiverClan is in a fragile situation and they attacked first, he's grieving, and that he's nothing like his namesake because he's apparently treating RiverClan well. Except he very well could've tried to help without conquering them! Because that's what this was, a conquest! It doesn't matter how well he treats RiverClan or who initiated the fight, he still barged into their territory with every intention of taking over by force out of clouded judgement and essentially makes RiverClan into a puppet state by placing his own cats in charge and finally relents to letting a RiverClan cat lead alongside Cloverfoot only after Icewing defends him.

Seriously, there were better ways to go about this! In fact, a better alternative would've been to try and reach out to Mothwing (acknowledgement that she's related to him and the rest of Tigerclaw's line when!), Owlnose, Splashtail, or maybe even or at least Icewing and/or Harelight, despite the last two not having held any political power at the time, but maybe they could've at least talked to Mothwing on his behalf.

Seriously, I really hope SkyClan deals with him soon!

From what I’ve seen, lots of people skipped AVOS (please if you have done this at least read the first 3 books and Hawkwing’s journey they’re amazing) and went straight into the broken code and also haven’t read oots for years, that is an experience I’ve seen online a few times. The problem with that is that people have become attached to good dad Tigerheartstar and either forgotten or not read just how bad he can get, and so they don’t want to see him for who he really is and has been consistently characterised as throughout the years: a self righteous bully. He is a fascinating character for sure because of this dynamic of him both being capable of great love and of great cruelty. I’ve seen people express surprise at him trying to take over RiverClan and calling it out of character as if he didn’t try to do almost the exact same thing in SqH to the Sisters. He forced out a small group of cats living on unclaimed land who said they were going to move anyway because he immediately wanted back land he had gifted someone else. Moonlight and Leafpool are dead because of his insistence on forcibly taking that land and rallying the other leaders to do it.

Regardless of his intentions the way he decided to “help” RiverClan was completely wrong. You don’t turn up at dawn with almost every warrior at your disposal if you truly have the best interests of those you want to “help” at heart, nor do you say things like this:

You could give those lines to Tigerstar 1 or Darktail and it would not be out of character for them.

There are so many other ways he could have done it rather than this like you say and I am currently so upset and angry on RiverClan’s behalf and I really hope they forcibly drive him out of their land soon. I’m so glad the narrative is currently treating this as awful and sickening as it is and repeatedly comparing him to his grandfather rather than trying to justify it.

I was suppose to post this a few days ago while Jib was happening but I forgot to post so I’m doing it anyways because brainrot is still going strong,,,

With everything that happened at Jibcon, I have so much shit too ‘ramble on’ about

((yes it was intended)).

First off Jensen’s fcking energy at this con is so awesome I love it so much. Like he seems really really happy and relaxed. His panel with Misha looks so fun and they were putting the most energy out there. And y’all something has to be in the Jibcon air because the things Jensen has openly been saying has me thinkingggg.

And when I start thinking, I’m going to have a lot too talk about. All good things ofc I’m only speaking on things I observed from post. Praying I actually go to a con soon,,, But their lovey dovey behavior was so out there, I don’t think it matters whether you went to Jib or not, you can clearly see it. Like Misha sitting on the stage floor looking up at Jensen so reverently while he’s singing has had me clutching my chest every time I look at that picture. They seem really really reallllyyy relaxed. And I’m so happy for them.

And then this man, fcking Jensen has them both singing a destiel inspired song on stage while laughing and looking at each other and idk wtf to say honestly. Like idk if it’s the constant wheel shots they’re taking but they just are so happy.

Like Jensen has always been the most comfortable on Jenmish panels something I’ve noticed for a while now because he acts totally different on J2 panels and solo panels because different crowds and I just think he’s uncomfortable. J*red constantly talks over his questions and we know what type of people are in the j2 crowd unfortunately. On solo panels he just looks scrambled and is semi relaxed but answers questions silly. And Jenmish panels he’s always the most relaxed. Misha lets him talk for his own questions and they play around and they just simply enjoy themselves, and he always seemed more open too talking about destiel, and Dean as a character on Jenmish panels. Speaking of takes, Jensen’s lil destiel conversations has got me thinking. And I wanna talk about this in another post but I think he’s doing something behind scenes involving destiel because he just seemed so happy about breaking down their dynamic and bringing up the confession scene

I’m happy for him, honestly. It took him a long time to get comfortable when answering questions about destiel and I don’t blame him. The fandom can be very demanding and some of y’all deliberately went out of y’all’s way to harass and accuse this man of being homophobic multiple times. So him swerving questions made a lot sense to me. Even though his love for Dean and Cas has shown a lot through the years. I’m just so glad that he’s comfortable now and he wants to talk more openly with us.

I have so much more to talk about but I feel I should start breaking some of it up honestly. I don’t often do discussions like this on tumblr, I keep a large part of them to myself or usually when someone speaks to me about it, or I see a particularly terrible fcking take and I have to read somebody down about it.

But I’m getting more active on tumblr and I wanted to do my own breakdown of spn which I wanted to do before posting this but the stuff happened at Jib put that on hold because I had to brainrot, but I’ll get back to it. I’m mostly doing all this for fun.

If y’all know me, you’ll know that I absolutely abhor omegaverse (you can thank Kurui Naku Ban Beta, Sayonara Alpha, and Erito for that). Literally everything you could do in an abo has already been done. I don’t see a point in making more of these. Mangakas: Okay, let’s do domsub instead But hey, am I not a Okitsu whore? No. Anyway, even though I was excited about listening to this, I knew I was going to hate Kotani because he was an asshole.

There’s only one thing worse than an abo.

AN ABO WITH AN ASSHOLE CHARACTER.

But, in spite of myself, I actually enjoyed this.

JK. Unmei no Tsugai doesn’t sell itself as a serious plot, so it shouldn’t be taken seriously either. Unlike our deep try-hards. I mean, it’s your pretty run-of-the-mill dumbass gets an excuse to fuck the asshole, falls in love with him, the asshole becomes more of an asshole, the dumbass drags a third party to make him jealous, the asshole becomes more of an asshole, poor third party gets led on and dumped, and the dumbass and asshole finally gets together without the asshole even apologizing, medetashi, medetashi. But the way that Haruta wrote and movic set it all up was fantastic.

Now this is how you do comedy. I initially had some doubts ‘cause the narration in the first track was kind of strange lmao. It went from medieval style to traditional Japanese and it was narrated by someone who sounded like a news broadcaster wth. Is this a densetsu??? The CD later turned out to be a whole vocal flex for Massuu and Okitsu ‘cause goddamn.

Massuu, for starters, used a tone slightly above his Hirokuni but slightly smoother. I haven’t read the manga before, so I wasn’t sure how things were going to go, so I was very surprised that he pulled his shounen (aka his Kirishima) voice later! I loved it. His changes were dynamic, chaotic, and very fitting for Shishikura. AND! AND! JESUS CHRIST HIS SEXAY MONOLOGUES!!! HELLO??? WAS HE PAID EXTRA??? Y’ALL GOTTA HEAR ALL THE BEDROOM SUBJUGATIONS!!! I didn’t know he had that in him tbh. I was just blown away. He has never bottomed this chaotically before, if I recall correctly. It’s evident that he had a lot of fun recording this (as did Okitsu as per the cast talk) and I love that! It makes me wish this had a second volume so we could hear more of this kind of Massuu.

Onto Okitsu,

Y’all already know what I’m gonna say.

Is my bias over Okitsu making me like this? Who knows? But it’s undeniable that my man has, once again, slayed this role. I won’t talk about his perfect performance much ‘cause I’ve already run out of praises years ago, so just know that if you’re not an Okitsu bitch by now, you’re really missing out lmao.

In conclusion, get this. Get this if you’re a fan of the series and abo in general. And if you dislike abo like me, this still is worth getting if you’re an Okitsu/Massuu stan. If you want to see just what makes voice actors good, you’ll be in the right place. As for those who want to read the manga along with the BLCD, it is doable, but bear in mind that there is added and cut dialogue. I only have the magazine releases, and I’ve noticed that the narrations are rearranged, so do try buying the tank if you can (reading the Chrima release with it is doable too tho). Gosh, I really wish this wasn’t an abo lmao. Anyway, I’m afraid there aren’t a lot of gag abos like this out there, so I wouldn’t be able to recommend anything similar. Go Kashikomarimashita: Destiny and Re:birth for more Okitsu tho

lol that's literally just your opinion anon, I'm happy it makes you feel better to think that cassian "you're not the only one who's lost everything" andor is disappointed and heartbroken and experiencing no second chances at love in his last days and last moments. hope that brings you comfort, but also know it's literally just your headcanon. in that it's not based on actual canon but hey I am part of the rogue one fandom, we have all kinds of delusional headcanons so welcome to the club. for instance cassian opens his eyes in the last second so obviously a ship comes and saves them and he notices it and they live.

in all seriousness if you haven't read the rogue one novelization it may actually give you a new appreciation for all of the characters in rogue one because it does a lot of work to make up for what the reshoots likely did to a lot of these characters. the novel was written like years and years ago so it mentions cassian's old backstory but I'm sincerely recommending it for some good character work. I think there are a lot of people in the andor fandom who didn't spend much time in the rogue one fandom and I highly recommend reading the rogue one novels (catalyst, rebel rising even though it's not my favorite it fleshes out saw and jyn's relationship, ofc the novelization) because they're really helpful to understanding the characters a bit better. especially since cassian is so different in andor.

I'm gonna give you some advice on fandom etiquette: telling someone who ships something that their ship is dumb and not as good as your ship is kind of weird. the reason I think you may be baiting me is like first off there's been a dickhead going around harassing queer wlw who ship rebelcaptain and saying things about how melshi is cassian's true love and jyn blows lol WHICH OKAYY i guess we all have hobbies, and also I've been in fandom for a long ass time. ive seen how trolls behave. I didn't grow up in the atla fandom to not be able to smell ship war baiting a mile away.

Fandoms: Hikaru no Go, Natsume Yuujinchou | Natsume's Book of Friends, Link Click (时光代理人), 猎罪图鉴 | Under the Skin (TV 2022), Hunting (猎狐), Thunderbolt Fantasy (東離劍遊紀)

As for reading preferences, I’m happy with a wide variety of tones and genres, of any rating, ranging anywhere from lighthearted antics to dramatic casefics. But the core of all the stories I love has always been character interaction and interplay of their competences. How the characters play off each other and bring out their best/worst, how they’d react to a divergence of events, how true they’d stay to themselves in a different setting – I love fanfiction for allowing us to reconnect with our favourite stories time and again by asking these questions. And there are so many ways to do it! To name a few favourites, I’m always game for POV hijinks, a missing scene, a casefic, canon expansion, backstories and what-ifs.

You may notice that some of my requests lean towards shipfic – those, too, are welcome in a variety of tones – but I also tried to include openings for gen ideas if that’s your jam. Additionally, while it is not usually my top interest, I don’t have anything against AUs if there is something that you are itching to explore: I tend to enjoy them for a new aesthetic that fleshes out the favoured character dynamics in a new light, or a fusion that redefines the playing ground to allow the characters to exhibit their core competences in new and exciting ways.

I would be very grateful if you could avoid a/b/o and associated kinktropes, played-straight soulmate fic, and character interpretation that runs contrary to their core values. If in doubt, please reach out to me on anon - the askbox is open!

No, seriously. I’m totally going to lean into the fact that with ff.net no longer included for consideration, some of my most beloved canons are back in the game. Bring it on!

Hikaru no Go - Shindou Hikaru, Touya Akira

Oh boy. Oh boy. I cannot point out one single canon more significant to my fandom life than this. It completely possessed my brain after I first read and watched it, I simply couldn’t talk about anything else for days on end. It brought so many wonderful people into my life, and it started me writing fanfic: to say it was foundational seems like an understatement. I feel like I can go years without having a Hikago conversation, and then one day something trips me, and I want to climb into a soapbox and yell into a megaphone about it, or at least how my passion for something else actually has roots in this story.

Anyway, this story. It’s something that straddles two big themes for me, in a way that it’s never really one without the other. The first one, of course, is the eternal rivals (I can’t believe I’m typing this phrase in the year of our lord 2k23, omg I’m so excited) — the dynamic between Shindou and Touya is the core of the story and a big reason why I imprinted on Hikaru no Go. They are mutually obsessed, fierce, kinda ridiculous and ridiculously canon couple (in a way that means any hikago gen in my head comes with akihika implied). The other big theme, of course, is what unites all characters of this story into a vibrant tapestry: the striving for excellence, belonging & competition in a pursuit that’s bigger than one single man’s journey, the community and your place in it. There is not a single character in it whose story leaves me indifferent. Sai (Sai!), Nase, Isumi & Waya, Ochi, Ko, Yashiro, a wave of veteran players whose love for the game is a steady flame, the new wave burning with the desire to catch up, and coming to grips with their generation’s supernovas.

I would love a range of things for this fandom: anything post-canon and ship-centric, including getting together (or catching up with the fact that they were together) and addressing the mystery of Sai; anything with the ensemble cast and a good dose of fond humour; any AU which leans into supernatural forces you would want to tap into because the potential is right there; any AUs/crossovers that recreates the dynamic in a different setting is fine as well.

I’m choosing Shindou and Touya as nominated characters, but it could be centered on other characters if you really wish - as long as they are in the frame, so to say, and acknowledged for who they are.

Note you can take or leave, made in hopes to reduce stress rather than inject it: at the height of my obsession, I went to a Go club for a while and learnt a little of the game; it’s safe to say what survived through the years in my head is probably just familiarity with the Japanese terms for the game, its rules and main concepts. So it’s probably enough to understand a metaphor underpinned by what’s transpiring on the page, but definitely not enough to judge anyone for their Go strategy in fanfic. Be as specific or as metaphorically handwavy as you want to be.

My DNWs: I cannot handle other endgame ships for the characters if it means either Shindou or Touya is miserable, and I’m also incapable of stomaching any sort of romantic relationship between Sai and Shindou.

I'm up to date with both anime and manga, but I haven't seen the c-drama.

Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume’s Book of Friends) - Matoba Seiji, Natori Shuuichi

I’m having the best time having a horrible exorcist relapse.

I don’t know what I was doing with my life, but I had the last several volumes of the manga on the shelf but unread for a couple of years, and only got around to them a little while ago. I am pleased to report Midorikawa-sensei still knows exactly how to get me ferally texting my friends within a few chapters, yelling about LOQUATS. Honestly I’m so pleased that what we’re getting on the page seems to be softer and more open to possibility than what we collectively imagined as a horrible exorcists fandom, yelling about bitter exes and divorces. I am so grateful that Midorikawa-sensei knows not only what we want, but what we need. There is surprisingly less knives and more communication, soft resignation and a working relationship as opposed to a bitter estrangement and mutual avoidance — not ignoring the feuds and bone-breakingly heavy legacies, but growing around them, somewhat? Miharu and Homura arcs were absolutely ruinous in the best way, and what we saw after adds more layer to understanding the history between the two houses but at the same time has enough soft bits around it that makes me hopeful? The mix is intoxicating, not going to lie. I’d love to be a fly on the wall and see the reaction of Matoba’s clansmen when Natori shows up in their boardroom to borrow their esteemed leader for a few days, on important business. HOW OFTEN DOES THAT HAPPEN, I need to know for science.

Also because I reread the manga from around Distorted World chapters until end of v.28, I have clocked it that the ongoing theme in author notes is gentle callout that Natori is doing a worse job of judging Matoba by what he does than what he says than even Natsume. He is so stubborn! And the invitation to stop listening to Seiji glibly run his mouth is right there! (I feel compelled to add here that Seiji running his mouth with the most clingy shit is my favourite thing. "Oh it would be nice to have Natori-san’s paper talisman." "Oh it would be nice to go on a wistful little loquat date again." URGHUGHG - me and Nastume both, probably).

Casefics, shipfics, boardroom comedy, AUs or futurefics — all good, as long as it digs into the dynamic between them. Messing with timelines, forced proximity, day jobs crossing with exorcist jobs, narratively convenient youkai curses forcing their hand, etc etc.

I'm up to date with English official translations of manga & anime.

Link Click (时光代理人) - Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi

My request for them as I worded it last year seems woefully inadequate now that s2 has aired, so while in essence my wishes remain the same - all stories that aim to answer any questions posed by the show, fill in the worldbuilding gaps, offer casefics or day-in-the-life-of sketches, and above all, to lean into the fiercely protective dynamics between the main leads of the show are very welcome - I feel compelled to add a few comments to it.

The dynamic between Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang remains central to my interest. I ship them, but if you don’t want to explicitly include that, there is still all the rest of it that makes the two of them zing: cooperation, mutual protectiveness, the clear imbalance in knowledge, complementary powers and different styles, the blurry line between what’s actually a limitation in powers & bad practice, and what’s LG doing his damnedest to steer the events in a certain direction.

While I am right there in the first rows, gleefully screaming about Hypocritcal Homura Lu Guang erasing and rewinding timelines to protect Cheng Xiaoshi, I am also the first to admit that I don’t have a very good idea of how it works, and the implications of the time reset (resets?) initiated by LG. I’ve had a really good time reading other people’s theories and watching in fascination the corkboards with timestamps and visual cues offered by the production team, but the truth is, I do not have a firm understanding or a preferred explanation, so please feel free to take it as an invitation to play with it as fast and loose as you like. If you have an elaborate theory of your own — I’d be happy to see where it takes you, if you want to hand-wave the mechanics in favour of a general logic of a thing, or bypass it because it’s not the kind of story that you want to tell — don’t let that bother you. Timetravel is mindboggling.

Actual crossovers with Madoka, if you are inclined to go there, are totally welcome. I’ve refreshed my memory of it and have some thoughts on what sets the two shows apart, on the bone structure level, so if you want to play in that sandbox, please do. Just note that my interest in this crossover is not in packing any of the Link Click cast in frilly mahou shoujo dresses.

I am a big fan of Qiao Ling’s part in the story. She is such a grounding presence for CXS and through him, on LG. I am fiercely protective of the idea that her role in the story is not a romantic one, but it’s no less important for it. The way her level-headedness and empathy allowed for a break-through with Tianxi in s2, or the fact that she doesn’t shy from a fight but is not taking unnecessary risk — all of these things are an important part of the overall balance of power in the story.

On that note, what exactly happened at the end of s2 with Qiao Ling’s visions? Did she have her own powers awaken? What would be the impact?

The characters we got to know through s2 - they don’t capture my attention as much as the main trio. I found chosen themes resonant - e.g. the dismantling of the idea of a “respectable man” in the context of domestic violence, the imbalance of power and knowledge — but the characters via whom these themes were explored in s2 currently don’t occupy the top three slots for things I think about when I obsess about questions raised by the show. They are more of a vehicle to explore an idea, to me, that characters about whom I have intense emotions.

I'm up to date with two seasons as they aired on Crunchyroll, but I cannot claim to have absorbed all the lore shared via official twitter, on the account of my Chinese still being a learner level. I'm happy to read content based on that, though -- as long as you include an explanation and a link with commentary that will help me understand the context.

Under the Skin (猎罪图鉴 ) - Shen Yi, Du Cheng.

Always welcome the addition of Du Qing, Du Cheng’s fabulous sister, or the ensemble cast of the investigation unit.

For this show, I’m both charmed by the dynamics between the main leads, and the completely realistic (ha!) way they use art skills to solve crime. This is some anime level nonsense and I’m eating it up with a spoon.

Case fics case fics! Case fics that explore and develop the relationship between Shen Yi and Du Cheng. I ship them, and would welcome the acknowledge of the growing closeness and intimacy between them in the story, but you don’t have to push yourself if you are there for camaraderie alone. I think between their backstory and the events of s1, there is a lot that makes them tick as a duo. Things that particularly please me: the playfulness in dialogue and little things like picture notes, acknowledgement and reliance on each other’s competences, protectiveness and care that comes across both in the middle of real danger (how many hostage situations can Shen Yi get himself into? Asking for a friend) and in daily routine. (Food is love! Allowing people to have naps is love!)

The inherent domesticity of adopting one loner artist by a whole investigative unit. I really liked the evolution of how people warmed up to him, and different distance at which these relationships grow and show in their daily work.

On a similar note: how large will Shen Yi’s menagerie grow to be, if he keeps adopting all sorts of strays from his cases? *An amateur artist myself, I am very fond of the many ways art has been shown to interlace and influence things we perceive to be objective and tangible on the show. It’s not just about sketching a perpetrator’s portrait, and joke as I may about the realism of crime-solving with a sketchbook, I’m definitely fond of all kinds of aspects of art and its transformative power that were brought into the show.

Thematically, one thing that boggled my mind when watching the show is how it gravitated towards exploring violence and crimes perpetrated against women, and created a whole range of competent, sympathetic characters… and yet they all somehow were either in victims, perpetrators or both. It’s like the show writers are trying to engage in important issues, but stop before actually seeing it through to the logical end. Is it censorship? Individual creative decisions? I don’t know, but I would hope that in fic, we could be bolder about saying B after saying A.

猎狐 | Hunting - Xia Yuan, Wu Jiaqi

Don’t get me wrong, I love me a good white collar crime, especially one that busts a few capitalist myths. But let’s be real, the best parts of this TV show were Xia Yuan and Wu Jiaqi’s overseas 💕dates💕 I mean business trips, which mysteriously required they be outfitted like a well-matched pair of ridiculously long-legged models that strutted right out of the Vogue pages and into the metaphorical fire. The kind of fire that, in turn, required them to fake date, or dress up even more glamorously to impersonate filthy rich celebrities and their butlers, or deployed other similarly logical methods of tracking down runaway fraudsters.

I would eat up more of such adventures with a spoon, nay, a SHOVEL. Just like the epilogue showed, I’d like to imagine their adventures post-canon be a series of bright postcards (bang bang from Russia with love) capturing their antics in various capitals of the world.

Some ideas for inspiration could be: • Competitive not-dating. Xia Yuan and Wu Jiaqi just happen to contrive the circumstances in a way that makes the next operation seem conspicuously like a date, and the other one simply cannot let this slide and ups the ante. • I’m totally on board with some commentary or scheming from the peanut gallery of the Economics Crimes Division (I love you, Xiaolei!) to set them up faster. I don’t know if I love more the idea of the two of them giving in to the gang’s attempts to set them up, or the gang continuing to set them up completely unaware that the two of them are already dating, thus amplifying the comedy. • As mentioned above, every city needs a pair of scarily competent and scarily beautiful law enforcement agents (who are also derps) descend on it to charm the pants off the local police forces and then solve some crime while they are at it. It’s also incredibly cute that Wu Jiaqi is the worldlier (or nerdier?) of the two, and can dispense funfacts and trivia at Xia Yuan’s incredibly soft face. I’m a simple girl and I like simple things. • ALL THE TROPES ever, as essential and completely logical ways to solve economic crimes. All the dress-ups. All the role-playing on the job with bae.

Thunderbolt Fantasy (東離劍遊紀): any characters

I LOVE THIS SELF INDULGENT WUXIA NONSENSE AND I CANNOT LIE!

Sanfan is a mixture UTTER GLEE and deep fondness for the genre staples, self-aware and masterful playthrough of all the wuxia tropes in the book, and one goddamn well-constructed story. It plays the tropes straight, calls them out with a knowing wink, walks the tightrope between the two with panache, and just as you are relaxed and enjoying this trapeze show, it grins cheekily at you, sets the hat on fire and pulls a bunny out of a discoball. It’s DELIGHTFUL and fun and lovingly crafted, just like a good passion project should be.

I want anything that capitalizes on the absolutely hilarious dynamics between Rin Setsua and Sho Fukan (and while personally I end up using the Japanese versions of their names more often, please feel free to go with the Chinese names if you prefer). Sho Fukan does not want any of those heroic quests, he’s the human equivalent of been there, done that mood, and he just wants to REST and hopefully dump a bunch of magical murderswords someplace safe. Rin Setsua is a Totally Respectable and Non-Villainous Member of Society, of which he will inform you firsthand in the most high spoken and verbose way possible, and maybe even produce paperwork that has definitely not been tampered with. He harbours no ulterior motives, ever, and does not trail behind Sho Fukan for any reason beyond the pleasure of his company, and his mission is to personally victimize and cockblock every morally derelict villain in two countries, by no-one’s request.

Whether you go shipfic (yiss!) or canon levels teamup circus (also yiss!), don’t hold back your horses. Everything about this is Extra, and should continue to be so <3

I am okay with both expanding the canon and playing with AUs/crossovers/fusions for this one, provided they retain the character dynamics. I love the extended cast as well: any characters including the Seiyou gang (and on that note, if you want to write the Seiyou backstory for Shou’s gang that has no Rin in it, you’re welcome as well), reappearance of the familiar faces from Touri (read: Rin’s victim list, past, future and present), original characters lined up and waiting to be screwed over (guaranteed) and rescued (the administration does not bear any responsibility etc etc).

Season three, god bless Urobutcher, just went and upped the ante by 9000 – time and space travel! Magical walkie-talkie pocket-sized boyfriend dolls! Dramatic daddies and villains literally yeeted into literal space, jjba-style! The sandbox has expanded exponentially, and if you think this is a good excuse to open the door wide for any perceivable AUs and still remain canon-compatible, well, then you have the right audience in me.

This year I’m not limiting my request to just the two main characters (though as you can see my fondness for them is great) because I think season three especially kicks the doors wide open for various kinds of hilarious team-ups, confrontations, family dramas and peanut gallery commentaries about one another’s delusions of grandeur. If you would rather write about characters in the demonic realm, or have been wanting a good match-up for characters that never met on screen, or bring back some dead faves — well, then s3 labyrinth invites you to play with it, and I’ll happily read it.

theyre my bread and butter and toast and jam and all the other things on top idk powdered sugar etc. changed my LIFE that my middle school yaoibait fandom straight up got told by word of god himself that One Guy (who is normal fr this wasn't one of the ones who is always naked or sm) was madly unequivocably and eternally in love with That Other Guy. this was such a big deal for me and still is lbr

SuFin is peak they are my bella and edward this is my thenotebook. AND they are canonically not together and over the years ive seen a pattern of fans who are either familiar with actual swedish-finnish relations or doing research into them concluding over and over that finland would not seriously go for sweden, outside of AUs or jsut bending canon bc they really want them together (valid.......)

i love when fin is holding grudges or uncomfortable with the implications of seriously pursuing a relationship with his former (current, culturally?) oppressor so they try to keep it casual and Fail Severely, OR, my #1 favorite dynamic, Finland is fully a straight man who is like "soz but we can be friends bro lmao" and calls sweden homophobic slurs behind his back (but no one else is allowed to but him, obviously). (this is for my personal funnyvalue and ive rarely rareeeeely seen this. im right tho.)

other than that last thing basically i think its very good if they Are mutually in love but logistics and politics and realism and everything keeps them apart or maybe just closeted about it. but they have shared custody of the dog and the kids etc and have couple fights that are more serious than most but are the most steady and happiest couple on the planet overall. soulmates Real. i love sufin its good in every flavor really ummmmmmmmmmm except hyperukefied finland

Can you believe that its been a year since we played this bingo game? Time flies, huh? Anyway, I was thinking that I could tell you my in-depth opinions of your Milgram ocs (and vice versa) before we move onto trial 2! Then we can come back to this and compare how our opinions of each others' ocs have changed. :D If that's okay with you, of course! Please don't feel pressured to do it if you don't want to!

I'll make a post about my thoughts on your Milgram ocs separately. Don't want to put such long ramblings in your ask box, haha. Look forward to it!

OHHH YEAH I REMEMBER THAT it's really been a year, huh.. and sure, i'd love to do that! sounds very fun <3

and speaking of trial 2, i'm not sure if i'll be able to post stuff like album covers and everyone's designs this month (maybe i'll post a pre-t2 voice drama or two though), because of irl things and i still have a lot of art to work on, but i already know how everyone will act and i have everyone's song titles and trailer voicelines ready and. yeah my ocs' t2 versions will act so different from their t1 versions 😭

anyway, here's what i think about your milgram ocs!

HARUTO >>>> no really i love him a lot! his design is so 💕💖💞💓💗 he sure is a pretty boy! he's very fun to draw and i like how he actually looks like a guard in that picrew!

now, about his personality. i love how chill and relaxed he is, his personality is like a nice break from those guards who take their job much more seriously (*ahem* es, eiji and miki). it's really cool how he understands that all of this is some kind of experiment too, because again, those guards believe that milgram is always right no matter what and never (or rarely) question it. i find very interesting how he's so unpredictable, but his verdicts also sound.. reasonable? (well, if we're talking about the canon ones) like he doesn't jump to conclusions and also his decisions are understandable. and it feels refreshing to see a character who's an amnesiac, but doesn't really care about his memories and who he really is. i have this theory that haruto was, like, a completely average person and his memories really aren't that important, but maybe he was "chill" in a different way, like maybe he was just very apathetic? maybe that's why he has a feeling that his memories don't really matter? i'm very excited to see him in season 2! maybe he will get some character development?

ichiro!! my son!! my blorbo!! i would be terrified of him irl but i still relate to him a completely normal amount okay, okay, gonna be honest, i didn't know what to do with him when you posted his poll, like, at the same time i don't think forgiving him is the best decision, but also.. it's complicated, like, i think i need more info about him and his crime.

i love how he just goes with the flow and doesn't really care about anything and the fact that he likes to draw makes him even more cute <3 his mood swings make him more realistic too, like he's not just -_- most of the time, like he's actually a very emotional person!

about the "part of a dynamic" part, i just think that even though ichiro's personality is what makes him unique, when it's just him, there's not much to talk about, i guess? like i think his personality truly stands out when he's interacting with someone else. i still like him a lot though!

akane!! i don't have much to say about her, but i really do think she's innocent, at least right now, and as i've said before, i thought that an innocent verdict could "calm her down" and make her open up a bit more, also i just don't think her crime was that bad, like i think you said it was self-defense in some way? even if it wasn't, i really don't think that akane is a type of person who would kill someone for no reason at all and i trust her. also i really like her cuter tsundere side too, hehe <3 i would still find her intimidating irl though.

also i really like the parallels between ichiro and akane, like, the first one still acts like a small child, meanwhile the other one is more mature (even though she doesn't seem like it at first?), it's like.. both of them are coping in a different way, i guess? makes me think about haruka and yuno too.

it's daisuke's turn! I WANT TO BITE HIM DJFHKSDKSLLS /pos. okay, he's another milgram oc of yours that i would be too scared to talk to irl i'm just a scaredy cat okay but i really do think he's innocent, again, at least right now, like i don't care about his job, you know, do what you gotta do, and when it comes to his crime.. idk, i'm really getting innocent vibes. like, if he regrets it, that's enough for me to forgive him. and come on, his poor little meow meow energy is so strong! you've also mentioned that he's suffering from survivor's guilt which is.. interesting. i really don't have any theories right now and i'll need more info to understand his crime better, but i'm excited to find out more about him! also all the women rejecting him is so funny HDHSKSKSKKD he's such a loser /affectionate

i think you've said that suzume is that one oc you've struggled with the most and tbh i think i can see that? not in a bad way, of course, it's just.. she kinda has that energy, like, she was added later than everyone else, i guess? like at the same time i really like her but i don't have that much to say about her? i do have my theories though and also her mv is one of my favorites! really wanna draw something based on it when i have the time, hehe.

i LOVE her design though, she's so pretty 💖💖 she kinda has that "third sanada sibling" vibe /j about the "didn't get enough screentime" part, i just.. it's like i can't really understand her personality, i guess? like i remember reading her profile and her voice drama and still going "WHO ARE YOU" JDJKDKSLDKS. like, i can describe everyone else's personality traits, but when it comes to suzume, i'm like ".. uhhh her mv has pretty crystals :D" AND THAT'S NOT EVEN A PERSONALITY TRAIT. that interaction with shun has helped me understand her a bit better though! (also help i've finished working on shun's mv description recently and now i'm looking at the shun x suzume part like. are you sure you'd be okay with a bf like that suzume. are you sure) i also have a habit to call her suzu whenever i think about her or talk about her out loud skdksdls please don't mind me i talk to myself way too often

. i am going to be honest with you, i genuinely forget that haku exists sometimes AND I DON'T KNOW WHY 😭 like i really love his design, i think he's very (unintentionally) funny, his mv also makes me THINK, but also. i don't know why, he's just so forgettable djsdjksksl?? like, whenever i feel like i forgot one of your ocs, my brain goes "you know. the one who has a brother" and i'm like "OHHHHHHH", like the piano part isn't even the first thing i think about??

again. i would be too scared of him to talk to him if i ever met haku irl. i can't describe it, it's just.. the vibes are weird. like i voted him innocent, mostly because i just felt like it would be weird for me to vote him guilty when i don't even know anything about his crime *insert kei's 100% guilty rate joke here* also. i might be wrong and i won't be surprised if i am wrong, but. is it just me or haku's brother's vibes are weird too. like i don't wanna say he manipulated him or something but like. i feel like there is a reason why haku was so loyal to him and it's not necessarily "oh, you know, they are family, they're very close and all", i feel like it goes deeper than that and it's actually darker. i may be overthinking it though.

YUI!!! one of my faves, honestly. probably because i had a long idol/music games and anime phase. i love her design a lot, she's very pretty!! she's such an interesting character too, because like.. at the same time the fact that she refuses to admit the fact that she's a murderer annoys me a bit also come on her milgram cover is inmf, but also i kinda believe her? like maybe it wasn't an accident, but an indirect murder? like she really was the reason why her victim died, but it's not like, you know, she did it with her own hands. that would be so embarrassing though, like she's really not doing well because of her guilty verdict right now and then it turns out that it really was an accident 😭 very excited to see her go crazy <3

listen. again. sorry for mentioning their designs all the time, i'm that kind of person who cares a lot about the visuals, but i really like rin's design! he's very cute!

(also a note: i actually can imagine all your ocs as milgram characters? like they have the perfect designs for that, i think. like they're not too bright and colorful, but they're still easy to remember and i think that's cool and they fit the whole milgram aesthetic really well! like, i wanted to try and draw my ocs in milgram art style, but i kinda gave up because i couldn't imagine them actually looking like milgram characters at all djdkslsl)

but when it comes to his other traits.. i really don't have much to say? like seriously, if i had a chance to talk to him, i would just go "get over it" sjhskaslsls. i have no idea what that girl did, like maybe she started dating someone or simply spending more time with someone, but come on, dude, get up, this is embarrassing. him being the youngest prisoner doesn't help his case either, like i can't take his crime seriously at all, i'm sorry :'D but who knows, maybe he'll turn out to be the most scary and dangerous prisoner here!

noa is another forgettable one for me, i'm sorry djfhnkdsl. i have a habit to refer to noa and suzume as a set, like, you know, sad girls who have some kind of love-related problems. it doesn't mean i don't like noa though! i just really don't know much about her and i don't know what to say about her. i would love to learn more about her relationship with her husband though and like.. how and why her whole crime even happened. and it's nice to see that your prisoners have a good older sister figure here if we don't count her using alcohol as a coping mechanism <3 her dynamic with rin is cute too!

OHHHH kiyoshi is a difficult one. like i voted him innocent (i think so? i don't remember that well actually), but.. i can't help but feel like something is wrong. like i really can't believe that it was just "self-defense". come on, his song title is literally "true colors", THERE MUST BE SOMETHING. but if he's just obsessed with justice or something and he saw what he did as self-defense, i won't be surprised. and the fact that he's more cheerful now also makes me feel like kiyoshi has a darker side that he hasn't shown yet. like don't think i will go easy on you this time, old man, i'll be watching you very closely <3 (also i remember you saying that riku and kiyoshi would get along well? i wonder what you meant by that.. maybe it was about the "everyone relies on them, but they can't rely on anyone" bit?)

and another one with scary vibes jsjksklsls maybe i'm just not a fan of characters who kill for justice, their morals or what they think is "right"? like something about that sounds messed up to me. and yes, i voted mayumi guilty AND I DON'T REGRET IT OKAY. sure, maybe your patient was a criminal, but again, you're a nurse and you should do your job. don't think that you have the right to decide his fate or anything like that. i'm sure mayumi really had good intentions and she really is a kind person, but yeah, right now i can't say she's innocent or that i'm planning to forgive her in season 2.

Redemption Panel Highlights and Reactions

GATORS

i.e., Beth Riesgraf and Christian Kane (mostly Beth) talking about filming the scenes in (what I presume is) The Rollin’ on the River Job, where they’re pulling some stuff out of the water, and finding out the next day that there was an absolutely massive alligator pulled out of the same place just a little while after they filmed it

Beth’s impression of the wildlife folks warning them about the alligators

Beth scaring the hell out of Noah Wyle by yelling “GATOR” at him just after he finished his scene

seriously that was an absolutely WILD part of the panel

Everyone showering Aleyse Shannon with literally all the love!

The The Bucket Job clip! I’ve been a bit meh on a lot of Redemption, just in how it didn’t feel quite right, but that is possibly the absolute closest I’ve seen it get to the original in the best way. Brilliant

Which comes as no surprise since BETH RIESGRAF directed the episode!!! And apparently put an insane amount of effort in!

So apparently she and Christian went to town on the fight scene and he winds up tied up in a chair somewhere along the line and there’s a whole wild scene, which I am really looking forward to

Beth knowing how insanely particular he’d be about things like zip ties vs rope and what kind of rope e.t.c. e.t.c.

Apparently this is also tied into a VERY DEEP scene with Eliot? It sounds like they’re going to go super hard on his backstory, which is terrifyingly exciting

Speaking of: the panel’s going amazingly, I’m laughing so hard my stomach hurts, things are relatively light, and then, of fucking course—

Kane hitting us over the head about Eliot being a mass murderer who can’t be redeemed, is trying to stay static so that he can maintain the place he’s in, and is thus LIVING VICARIOUSLY THROUGH HARRY

What the FUCK. This is of course incredibly insightful and perfectly on point (because it’s Kane) but also, EXCUSE ME, OUCH, why would you DO THAT to us?

Everyone talking about having their families on set and their kids!

Beth’s son growing up on the original Leverage set and now going into being a director himself!

Gina’s daughter also growing up on set!

Kane apparently choreographing an intense scene with Burton and being scared out of his mind, because Burton really wanted to go for it, but to Kane it was like he’s a figurine that’s not to be messed with because he was so worried about hurting him

Kane choreographing a massive amount of the show, which I knew already, but seriously, this guy blows me away

Gina and the crew talking about how he’d be away for a day of shooting a fight and all of them would be missing him and thinking about him

Family Vibes

Everyone talking about how they’re very noisy and loud together on set and it’s a bit like walking into a group of people having Christmas dinner (or something to that effect) because they’re just Like That together

Aleyse being the most surprised by Beth when she met her because she was like a little angel of light during the auditions but turned out to be an absolute ball of wild energy on set

Aldis talking about how much he loved how Parker and Hardison’s relationship had developed and grown!

Also, Aldis apologizing when the New York (iirc) background noise got loud and everyone going “no no we get you”

(she goes “some of you may not know this,” which, fair, but also, if you’ve seen more than ten minutes of this guy outside of character you know he’s an absolute ball of sunshine)

(paraphrasing) “Yeah you remember the bit where you put on Parker’s harness and went off a building?”

Turns out half the cast had actually forgotten that that existed and only remember when reminded

Everyone talking over each other, Devlin going “it was with Sterling when we blew up the offices,” deciding that it was the season one finale, and then trying to figure out what episode title it was (eventually they figure out it’s the David jobs)

Aleyse and Aldis talking about typing when they’re hacking and going “WHAT THE HECK DO WE TYPE”

Aleyse saying that she’s always a little worried they’re hiding a Word document behind the blue screen and they’re going to pull up what she’s typing at the end of the day and print it out and put it in her trailer going “what the HECK is this”

Noah talking about filming The Golf Job and just getting to direct Jason Marsters and Christian together

Apparently their dynamic in that episode accurately mirrors the one with their characters in Angel!

Which promptly goes straight to the comment that it was very hard to make Marsters look like a golfer (pfft)

(Also apparently Christian plays golf for fun with his friends? Not necessarily something I would’ve thought of!)

Aleyse happily talking about how she loved the dynamic on set and it was very different from what she was used to

Beth especially praising her for the bit where she’s hit with the paralysis injection (I don’t remember which ep it’s from) and her acting for it, because it was incredibly hard to drop off screen in the particular way she did

Aleyse promptly answers that she was terrified with some of those, especially one where she had to keep a clock from falling and breaking

Everyone discussing how they see a new aspect of Breanna’s character in The Train Job

Also, to get serious for a moment, Kate Rorick in particular talks about how Breanna’s part of Gen Z and how we didn’t get the “days of yore” where everything was chill. We’ve basically been living in a world of hostility the whole time. It’s something I deeply appreciate, as someone who’s part of that group, and I love how they emphasize that for us.

This panel was pure chaos and I loved every moment of it! My stomach was actually hurting from laughing so hard, I swear. They had me cackling well over half the time. I would happily take panels double or triple the length of this, this was amazing. I also adore how the second you drop these six people in a room together, they immediately take off and literally just run and give you everything you wanted and more. (It is also evidently very hard to get them to STOP talking.)

I’m also just going to stop and take a second to fawn over the effects for the 3D room. It’s gorgeous—I love how they replicated the headquarters, especially with the stained glass ceilings! Super impressive, especially with all the photos, and I just love the whole thing. Kudos to whoever put that together.

Anyway, I’m definitely missing some stuff too; seriously, there wasn’t a second wasted in this thing, they were cracking some kind of joke or dropping some really interesting piece of information practically every thirty seconds. (And I haven’t even gotten into the clips OR the bloopers. I miiiight do a separate reaction purely for those.) It’s still up right now if you missed it and you want to watch it! I’ll probably watch it again, honestly.

was worried my ipad was gonna overheat after attempting like three insufficient doodles before settling on this one so have a littol W.I.P. for now that i title ‘Charging Time’ based from @delimeful’s Fake Title Prompt: Broken Wish!

Now I ramble under a cut bc i have Thoughts:

-now I can explain abt the the accidentally suggested dynamic like nothing was even suggested to b romantic in the actual prompt im well aware but brain literally Could Not give me ANYTHING to draw them doing without enough insp to draw it out, without having them interacting physically in some way to add life to the piece, which, yknow, doesn’t exactly fit this prompt or it’s base characters without reason, but monkey brain literally fought me for an hour straight on settling on something to even just LISTEN TO let alone let me draw them doing anything or even just standing knbkjhk so uhhhhh yeah

This next take isn’t canon to Lime’s piece at all, btw, just me wanting to run w/ this highkey specific interest that I have that stems from a combination of my love of g/t aus and bjd doll customization, aight? It’s just what I had in mind while giving Virge and Logan their designs and i figured why not share them?

-so: Virgil possesses a BJD(Ball-Jointed-Doll) that probably originally was very blank and forgotten and missing any personality(which fit well enough for the creepy aesthetic he was going for), buuut I wanna project, as someone who personally dabbles in BJD customization, that someone(maybe Roman or Remus, leaning towards Remus) found him, was Thrilled about the fact that it was haunted by a strong af but mostly just mischevious spirit that he just like, talked Virgil into letting him customize his vessle into something still v spooky but also hella cool looking, with a new segmented and articulated tail and inset eyes that, if Virgil so pleases, can pop out of place and rattle around in his head for a personal spooky trick(Virgil LOVES this, and loves the fact that he gets two different colored, non matching eyes to boot). His body stands at about 11 inches tall?

-Logan is like, 13 inches tall, and y’know, a sentient a.i. given form. I like to think that it makes more sense that he’s less sleek and more chonky because he needs all the space he can get for his hardware? Idk, but I like it alot. The glasses and tie he wears? Gifts from Virgil, something about it being an attempt to ‘help Logan look and visually be taken more serious the People Way, like Lo had said he wished for’ and now wears them seriously because they are the first hand-made gift he’s ever had. It probably makes him see Virgil as an even more super intelligent a.i. but, one step at a time, yknow?

in the mean time, here's my stance.

i have tagged my post for them to be curated by the individual viewing my blog. you can use tumblrs blacklist system, tumblr savior, or xkit rewriten if/when the blacklist feature returns to it.

i am well aware that there are those who have had traumatic experiences, and that my art may trigger the memory of such experiences, which is why they are tagged in the first place. you may also unfollow or block me, i won't get pissy about it.

there are also those who use this art/fanfiction as a coping mechanism. whether or not it is a healthy one depends more on the individual.

and then there are those who are just, into that kind of stuff. similar to incest porn you'd find on porn hub. it's a kink. (the first post linked has more info about that, fiction and reality when it comes to kink/porn is not one to one, this is just a quick example)

here's what art is to me. this doesn't just go for my ship stuff, this goes for everything.

art is a mirror. it can be a fun house mirror. if can be a broken mirror. it can be just a normal, run of the mill mirror. no matter what mirror you're looking at, the reflection is not exact. objects in the mirror are flipped, or warped, or cracked like the mirror itself. even looking into a pool of water, it reflects the world upside-down, and ripples away when you try to interact with the reflection.

art can effect you, but it can't hurt you. art can't pull a knife on you, but it can make you feel fear. art can't hold you and tell you everything is going to be ok, but it can make you feel comforted. art can't rape you, but it can make you squirm in discomfort and disgust, and make you feel just as violated. if art where an entity, it's entire goal would be to make you feel something emotionally, to poke your buttons and get a reaction out of you, positive or negative, willingly or manipulative. art lies to you, makes up stories and characters, and for some reason you believe it. not only do you believe it but you get attached, over and over again, without skipping a beat. and when all is said and done, when your heart strings have been pulled, when you've cheered in victory or cried in defeat for the fake person this art thing made up, and it tells you "non of that was real. you got emotional over things that didn't happen, over people who don't exist", then uh.... what the fuck do you do?

i mean, personally i'd say "thanks for giving me a safe environment to experience and/or process these emotions without me, like, ACTUALLY going through any of that, because by GOD would i be traumatized irl. and even though it was all fake, that doesn't make my emotions to any of what i've witnessed invalid (even though it's not on the same level of actual truama victims)."

also, if you actually are traumatized by my art, or it really is opening old wounds for you, please, please, PLEASE blacklist tags/unfollow/block/just do whatever you need to like, cut me outta your life. like i'm glad you like my art, but really man, your mental health is important.

anyway, i hope this was understandable at all. if from all that i said, you're wonderin if this is like a kink, or a coping mechanism for me, or whatever, i just, that's too many labels/words, for me it's all too grey to say definitively why i'm into this shit. i'm not a super sexual person, so like, i don't wanna label this blog "kink" along with pro-ship, that just, that brings in too many people who start makin me uncomfortable with their own fucked up and invasive ask. and to make it really clear, i don't support any of this stuff irl, whether it be incest, abuse, rape, etc. fiction is... this word has been over used, but fiction is a safe space. it just IS. point blank. probably the only one we really have if i'm bein honest.

tldr; art is good way to explore taboo topics without physically hurting people, and those who have already been physically hurt in the way the art depicts shouldn't be consuming that art for their own mental health and well being

is this doubling down?.... did i completely miss the point? gonna be honest, i have no idea, i'm running on energy that's verging on "take a nap", so for all i know i've taken this the wrong way, or said something i shouldn't have. it's just been on my mind for a while that people treat art in general too harshly or too close to reality, like you could take the monalisa to jail or somethin- i don't, i don't fuckin know man. i feel like i sound like some pretentious art snob, or an internet troll... imma..... imma take that nap.
