Tumblr media
The sun streaming through the windows did little to fight against the coldness he felt, he knew the room was warm, he knew the cold he felt deep in his bones wasn’t there and yet he couldn’t fight the shivers that wracked his body. It didn’t matter that he could see the small room his brother’s had shown him to once they landed on the planet, in his mind he was still there, still in that cold, small cell with no hope of escaping.
He’d been there for so long, long enough that he had lost track of the days. He could have planned an escape, could have made some attempt to leave their torture but what for? There was nothing waiting for him outside of his cell anymore.
Gone was his relationship with his brothers, gone was the easy back and forth banter with Wrecker, gone were the late night talks with Hunter, gone were the days him and Tech would sit together, his brother’s voice filling the silence without expecting anything back from Crosshair, gone was Echo’s steady presence, at his side whenever he needed it.
Gone were you.
Gone were the early mornings when the rest of his brothers were still asleep, only you and Crosshair awake in the cockpit holding a warm cup of caff and filling the space with softly spoken conversation. Gone were the days spent trying to stick by your side, gone were the stolen glances and lingering touches, gone was sneaking away after missions to explore together, gone were the chances he took to watch you smile, gone was the promise he’d tell you how he felt tomorrow.
Crosshair had run out of tomorrow’s a long time ago.
After all he had done, all the pain he had put his brothers through, the pain he had put you through, this was the least he deserved.
And so when the chance came to make his escape, to leave the pain and the torture behind he hesitated. The cell door was open, it would be so easy to leave and yet he hesitated.
If the kid hadn’t been there, if her life didn’t depend on him getting her out he knows he would have stayed where he was, he would have rotted in that cell for as long as they decided he was useful alive.
Now he was free and somehow he felt more confined than ever. It wasn’t just because Hunter wouldn’t take his eyes off him, it wasn’t because Wrecker hovered or the fact Omega had seemed to attach herself to him. It didn’t even have anything to do with the fact that you were here, stars above Crosshair couldn’t think of a time he would ever have ignored your presence and yet now he did everything to stay away from you, not able to face you yet.
No, it wasn’t because of you or his brothers that Crosshair felt confined. It was because he didn’t deserve this freedom, in his head he was still in the cold cell, destined to rot away.
Crosshair stood from the floor, unable to lay there any longer. The room had a bed tucked against the wall but Crosshair had only managed about ten minutes of tossing and turning on it before he gave the bed up for the floor, the bed too soft compared to what he had become used to.
Everyone else was still asleep as he made his way outside, no real destination in mind. His feet carried him through side streets until they grew sore and only then did he make his way back, stopping not too far away from where the others were to sit on the sand, the sun shining blindingly on the water.
He didn’t deserve to be here.
“I used to come here.” A voice interrupted him some time later, a voice he recognised all too well. “It’s quiet, no one ever comes here.”
Crosshair didn’t turn to look at you, he couldn’t bring himself to do it but when you sat next to him it was too much. He went to stand but your hand softly grabbing his stopped him.
“Please stop running away.” You pleaded softly and Crosshair didn’t have to look at you to know your eyes were teary but he did anyway, his heart aching for having made you this way.
“I can’t do this.” He told you quietly, forcing his gaze away from yours and looking back out at the water.
“I don’t know what happened to you,” You said after a moment's silence and Crosshair balled his hand into a fist, silently begging you to stop talking. “I don’t know what they did to you and you don’t have to tell me but-”
“But nothing.” He spat angrily, glaring at the sea and instantly hating himself for lashing out at you, so he tried again, softer this time. “But nothing. What they did to me was nothing less than I deserved.”
“Don’t say that.” You said, head shaking as you tried to compose yourself.
“It’s the truth, I tried to kill you, kill my brothers…I hurt you all and for what? For the Empire to throw my loyalty in my face.” Crosshair shrugged.
“For what it’s worth, I never gave up on you.” You told Crosshair, looking away from him as you spoke. “It didn’t matter what you did, how far you strayed from us, I never gave up on you.”
“You should have.” He muttered. “Everyone else did, Hunter doesn’t trust me, Wrecker wants to but he knows I’m nothing more than a lost cause.”
“That’s not true. Hunter’s just being Hunter, he needs time to adjust, needs time to figure things out in his head and then he’ll want to talk to you. Yeah you’re both gonna throw out words you don’t mean, maybe a punch or two but after that…it’s Hunter, he’s glad you’re back. As for Wrecker he wants to come to you, you know that as much as I do but he’s scared, he doesn’t want to spook you so he’s waiting for you to make the first move.” You explained, keeping your voice soft, not turning to face Crosshair as he turned to look at you.
“What about you?” He finally asked, voice barely above a whisper.
“I was with Wrecker. I kept my distance and waited to see what your move was. Turns out your move was to avoid everyone.” You laughed and Crosshair felt himself relax a little, the sound one he hadn't heard in so long and it somehow managed to push out some of the cold he felt. “I feel for you, Cross, I do. Stars only know what the Empire did to you but you’re free now, don’t let them win, don’t shut us out.”
“I never wanted anyone to feel bad for me, especially not you.” Crosshair said after a long pause of silence and you laughed again.
“We all feel bad for you, despite everything you’re one of us.” You told him so sincerely that Crosshair felt like he’d been punched in the stomach at the speed his breath was stolen from him.
You turned to face him, a small smile on your face and you hesitated for only a moment before you reached out and took his hand in yours, entwining your fingers together.
“I don’t deserve any of this,” Crosshair forced out and you smiled at him softly. “I don’t deserve you, you should be running away from me, leave me behind and move on.”
“Well, I’m sorry but I fell in love with you, okay?” You told him, watching as his eyes widened in complete disbelief. “It happened and I can’t do anything about it.”
“You…what?” Crosshair choked, for so long he had dreamed of you and him, of a life where you could possibly want him but it was such a far off dream, something that would never become a reality and now you were saying the words he had longed to hear for years.
“You’re stuck with me, Cross, I’m not going anywhere, I’m not running away. You’re it for me, always have been.” You said, laughing as a tear or two managed to slip down your cheek and Crosshair only second guessed himself for a moment before his hand cupped your cheek and he softly brushed the tears away, his thumb caressing your cheek bone.
“I don’t deserve you.” He repeated and you smiled brightly at him. “But I will spend the rest of my life trying.”
“I love you.” You told him again, watching as his eyes became watery and he rested his forehead against yours.
“I love you too, so much.” He choked out and you couldn’t stop yourself from closing the small distance between the two of you, Crosshair not hesitating to meet you in the middle.
Crosshair’s hand on your cheek moved to your hair, pulling you impossibly closer as he kissed you, savouring every second of the feeling, something he had longed for and convinced himself he could never have.
Eventually the two of you needed to pull apart for air, breathing heavily but not going far from each other, foreheads together as you both smiled at the other.
For the first time in so long Crosshair didn’t feel a single bit of cold, his body was warm, his heart racing as he held you close. For the first time in a long time Crosshair didn’t feel numb, he didn’t feel pain or fear.
It felt like he was finally off that awful planet, it felt like he had finally left his cold cell behind and stepped into the daylight, able to feel the sun of Pabu for the first time and it was because of you, you were the source of this warmth, this love, this joy, this overwhelming relief that things would be better.
For the first time in a very long time Crosshair felt like things would be okay, he had you, he swore he’d make amends with his brothers, spend the rest of his life making up for everything, spend the rest of his life proving he was worthy of yours and his brother’s love. It felt easier, it felt doable with you at his side once again.
----
Thank you so much for reading!

Hunter x Jedi Reader Part 1
Tumblr media
Warnings: None. (Not yet edited. Please excuse any grammatical errors or misspellings.)
.
The first time you met Clone Force 99 was on Kamino, when you came to visit Shaak Ti. She was like an older sister to you, and after she began overseeing the training of the clones, she offered to give you a tour of the training facility whenever you wished.
After arriving on Kamino, you were just a bit confused about directions. No one came to meet you at the door--with this being a spontaneous visit and all--but you tried your best to navigate through all the corridors, not wanting to look lost as you had the attention of a group of cadets that were passing by. They whispered amongst themselves, curious if a special event or a training session was on the schedule for today. Jedi never came to Kamino without a reason.
Another group suddenly entered the corridor. They wore black and grey with red paint, but what you noticed most besides the unusual paint job was that they were all different shapes and sizes. One of them looked like an absolute unit--super tall, super muscular. You could hear his loud and raspy voice from the other end of the corridor. The few that had their helmets off didn't even look like clones. The one in their group who wore goggles was more lean, less muscular, but taller than the standard clone. But even though you were curious, you had your own agenda to follow through with.
"Excuse me?" Their lively conversation came to a pause and they turned to look as you approached. "Would any of you happen to know where I could find Master Shaak Ti?"
The one most near you took his helmet off. The black tattoo covering half of his face caught you slightly off guard. He didn't look any more like a regular clone than the others. With the tattoo and the red banana wrapped around his forehead, he looked just as decorated as his armor.
The few seconds of eye contact that you hadn't realized passed came to an end as he tried to answer your question. "She-"
"She should be running through battle simulations with the cadet squads right about now," the one with the goggles answered your question before the first soldier had a chance.
"Okay, thank you," you nodded your head in farewell, smiling as your eyes quickly brushed over each member. You made an effort to acknowledge the last one since he had attempted to help you as well.
You turned around but paused before taking another step, realizing you had no idea where the battle simulations took place. Turning around once more, you added, "Um... where is that?" You looked nervously between each member. The fourth clone still had his helmet on, but you could just sense his indifference and the cold gaze he must have been wearing.
"Is this your first time on Kamino?" The clone with the face tattoo asked.
"It is," you nodded with an apologetic expression on your face.
He turned back to the group momentarily, "Go on ahead. I'll meet you all back at the ship."
"Yes sir," the one with goggles replied, then three of them left through the door you had just come in through.
He began walking and you followed. "Allow me to escort you there..." he trailed off, slowing his pace. "Uh... what should I call you?"
"Everyone just calls me Master (L/n). I hold no official position in our military. I do solo missions mostly, and assist wherever I'm needed."
"Pleasure to meet you, Master, (L/n). I'm Hunter. Sergeant Hunter, and back there"--he nodded at the entryway before it disappeared around a corner--"was my squad, Clone Force 99."
"Nice to meet you as well," you smiled. "If you don't mind my asking..."
"You want to know why we don't look like regular clones?"
He's probably asked that question all the time. You nodded.
"We're an experimental force, our different looks are the result of the changes in our DNA." Hunter stopped walking once you both had reached one of the lifts. He pressed a button and when the door opened, he motioned for you to go first.
"Thank you." You entered and took a step back when he followed to press the button for the third level.
As the lift ascended, you continued the conversation. "So... 'mutations;' that would explain why that one guy in group looks like two clones merged into one." You smiled, amused.
"Wrecker," Hunter clarified. "His mutation gave him the strength of a rancor," he joked.
"And the rest of you?"
"Well, Tech, the one with the goggles, would describe his mutation to be his 'exceptional mind.' He knows everything about anything. Then there's Crosshair. He's the best sniper and gunman in the galaxy. His aim is never off." Hunter smiled, enjoying showing off his team.
There was a pause as you expected him to continue, but he didn't.
"What about you?" The lift door opened and after you exited, Hunter lead the way once more.
"My heightened senses. I can sense electromagnetic waves," he said casually.
"How long have you been in action, Sergeant?" You hoped he had caught on with your curious nature, not wanted to seem like you were challenging their experience.
"About a year and a half."
"I would love to see your squad in action one day," you admitted, "to fact check your claims, of course." You felt the need to add a little joke, not wanting your first statement to seem flirtatious. Jedi weren't supposed to be as warm and friendly as you were naturally. Unfortunately, your kindness had earned you unwanted attention in the past.
"You should know, Clone Force 99 has a one-hundred percent success rate." A smooth, accented voice came up from behind you.
"Master Ti," you turned around and smiled.
"(Y/n), you came at the perfect time. I have just finished training the cadets for the day." She then looked to Hunter and greeted him, "Sergeant, I hope your squad is well."
"Yes, Mistress, as always."
"I'm glad to hear." Shaak Ti turned back to you. "Well, (Y/n), shall we begin the tour?"
You nodded before looking up at Hunter and thanking him for going out of his way to help you navigate.
"Anytime, Master (L/n)."
"May the force be with you and your team. I hope you maintain those figures."
There was a moment of silence, and you could see a confused and slightly judgmental look on Shaak Ti's face in your peripheral vision. Even Hunter was silent.
Blood rushed to your head and you were sure your face was red with embarrassment when you realized what it sounded like. "I meant your statistics. Your averages. Your one-hundred percent success rate!"
Hunter said nothing, but the corners of his mouth turned up in amusement. "I figured," he took a few steps back, preparing to leave. "We will do our best to maintain both of those things. I hope your time on Kamino is enjoyable," and with that last goodbye, he left to return to his team.
You covered your face with your hands, but Shaak Ti could see your body shake with laughter. A few seconds later, when your hands came down, she saw actual tears in your eyes. "That was so embarrassing," you whispered in between breaths.
"Oh, (Y/n)..." she shook her head, "always a pleasure."

Pairing: Bad Batch x Platonic! Former Jedi! Reader
Word Count: 645
Genre: Absolute fluff, pure goodness
Warnings: Bad Batch antics
Day 4 of the New Years Drabble Series! Randomly timed in celebration of the premier of the new season!
“Alright, let’s go ‘Mega, got to do your hair,” you called out, patting the spot in front of you.
“Can you do it just like yours?” Omega asked, eyes twinkling.
“We can see. Your hair is a bit short, but I’ll try my best.” Across the ship, you heard a loud thud, causing both you and the young one in front of you to freeze. You didn’t bother to look up knowing that it was just normal chaos, and continued brushing Omega’s hair
“Wrecker!” Echo yelled. “You keep swinging your big head around like that and you’ll destroy the ship!
“My ship,” Tech pointed, never tearing his view away from in front of him.
“Come on Echo. My head’s not that big,” Wrecker pouted.
“It is significantly larger than any of our heads. At least an inch large in circumference.” Tech added.
“Why do you use such big words, nobody understands them,” Wrecker said.
“I think everyone understood that. There’s no need to be so emphatic about it.”
“See again! Did any of you understand that? Hunter? Y/N?” Wrecker whipped around to ask.
“No comment,” you responded. Hunter just rolled his eyes. The argument continued, you zoned it out and went back to Omega’s hair.
“Y/N?”
“Hmm?” You looked down at the little girl in front of you.
“What was your family like?” Omega asked.
“Why do you ask?” You continued, starting a braid in her hair.
“Well, it’s just that I have my brothers, they’re my family, and I wonder what yours must have been like.”
“As you know, I was a Jedi. The Jedi are taken when they are very young to learn the ways of the force. So I never knew my family, all I knew were the Jedi. At times it could be very lonely. We were told not to form attachments. All we had was the Force. I thought about looking for my family, but I never did.  And then once upon a time, I was assigned to this rag-tag group of clones. They were loud and rambunctious. They never really cared for rules which was the opposite of what I was used to, but it was refreshing. They were strong and they moved concisely, never failing in completing a mission. They claimed it was because of their abilities but the truth was, it was because of how close they were. They could communicate, even if most of the time it was to scream at one another.” Omega laughed. Looking up at the argument that was still going on, now including Hunter. “I stayed because there was something about the group. And they took me in. We fought together, laughed together, and cared for one another. They protected me when Order 66 happened. And then I realized I didn’t need to look for my family, it was right in front of me.”
“But how are they your family if you don’t share blood?” Omega asked, looking up at you.
“Something I learned from them. Family has nothing to do with relation but is instead all about the love and care you have for one another.” You paused looking down at Omega’s finished hair. “All done!” You patted her shoulder. Omega bolted up and ran straight toward the chaos, desperate to show off her new hair.
“Guys! Look at my hair! Y/N did it! And they told me all about their family!” You smiled at her antics.
“Family?” Echo called out.
“Jedi don’t have family,” Tech answered.
“You never told us about your family!” Wrecker again pouted.
“Well clearly it was not pertinent at the time, so they didn’t need to tell us nor did they want to,” Tech added.
“Didn’t we just talk about you using big words nobody understands?” Wrecker cried out, and another argument ensued and Omega just turned around to you and winked.
Your family.

Hollow — Tech x GN!Reader Batcher
Tumblr media
Description: Tech x GN!Reader Batcher, established relationship; POV is 1st person so there's no use of gendered pronouns (: Warnings: Angst, major character death, grief, very vague allusion to suicidal thoughts and self-destructive tendencies Word Count: 916
A/N: This is the first time I've really written any fandom content since high school. Or at least, with the intention of letting others read it. Tried to balance the mix of recounting the past while also shifting to how reader/oc is in the present which can be tricky so I hope it reads well.
Everything happened so fast.
It was like any other mission gone bad — shots from grounded enemies, shots from the sky, and having to problem-solve on the fly amidst the chaos. Then… it was very different.
There was a violent shake as the rail cars were hit and then I was looking down at my husband hanging far below the car. Momentarily, all sound became an indistinguishable noise, garbled voices of distress mixed with ringing and roaring in my ears, as you struggled to climb up to the car.
As I moved to help you, the car creaked and, snapping back to reality, I heard you shout up, “Whoa! Don't! Any shift in weight could send both of these cars over. You must sever the connection hinge. Now!” Wrecker and I immediately exclaimed our rejection of that idea. I could feel my panic rising, my desperation increasing. There must be something. There HAS to be something. Anything to fix this mess and save you.
Your next words, spoken so calmly and matter-of-fact, slammed into me. “There is no time, cyare. Plan 99.” “Don’t. You. Dare, Tech.” My voice cracked on your name. Gently, desperately, I repeated my words, punctuating them with “please”. Your eyes locked with mine — soft, sad, and full of love. “I love you, cyar’ika, but when have we ever followed orders?”
When you shot the connection and began to fall, a deafening scream ripped out of me. “NO!” My body automatically lunged for the side with my hand outstretched before Wrecker grabbed me and held me firmly. Thrashing to escape his grasp as the car began to move, I screamed, “TECH! No! No no no! Go back!”
As the car got further and further away, the shock of the situation overtook me — numb, unseeing, unmoving with that same mix of indistinguishable sounds in my ears. My body went into a survival autopilot – moving as prompted but I wasn’t there – and the team had to help drag me back to the Marauder through the attacks.
Once aboard the Marauder, standing in the middle of our quarters, my knees gave out as I crumbled. Ripping off my helmet and goggles, my agonized sobs finally broke free and echoed through the ship. So full of grief, my body shaking, I leaned forward on my hands for support, fingers digging into the metal floor. One hand reached up, taking my chained wedding ring from underneath my undershirt and I clutched it so hard a mark was left in my hand.
At some point, I had stopped crying and left my body. I didn’t even know the ship stopped. Feeling a gentle hand on my shoulder, the only acknowledgment of awareness I could give was a hoarse, emotionless mumble, “You should have let me go with him.”
From there, I don’t truly remember much of anything. There’s a blur of being dragged to my feet and out of the ship, and of having wet hair and clean clothes while AZ checked me over with no memory of cleaning up or changing. I’m ashamed to say that I don’t even truly remember Omega being taken. All I truly remember from the past month and a half is waves of soul-crushing pain surrounded by numbness as I attempted to lose myself in my work. I keep crying and feeling flashes of disbelief and anger. I’ve lost my appetite… and my desire for self-preservation. All this while moving on autopilot to complete my tasks and finish the mission. Find and save Omega. That is all that matters right now.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo are concerned for me, often pushing food on me and otherwise fussing. Up until now, there were eyes on me almost all the time, it felt like, and I hated it, but I understood why they hovered. Echo left a couple of weeks after the events to rejoin Rex, but I still hear him comm Hunter every so often to check in on me and find out how the search for Omega is going.
The days are often easier than the nights since I’ve taken on most of Tech’s tasks alongside my own. Hunter and Wrecker have tried to take some of them, wishing to lighten my load, but I adamantly refuse. I need them. I need the memory of helping with and hearing about them from him by doing them. They’ve let the situation be, but still intervene to make me sleep.
That’s when it gets unbearable.
The emptiness beside me screams, his scent got fainter with each passing day until it disappeared, remembering the quiet moments we shared in this space, and hearing his final words on a loop in the silence. Once the exhaustion finally takes me… I often watch Tech fall and wake with tears streaming down my face or stinging eyes and a heavy heart. Some nights, I think Hunter has been slipping me medicine in my food ‘cause those are the only nights I get any decent sleep.
Despite all this, I have, believe it or not, been getting better. Slowly, I began to reengage with the boys and be open with them. They stopped having to watch me as close or force me to take care of myself. Now, it’s reminders and intervention as necessary along with occasional check-ins when I seem particularly off one day. I’m still far from okay and I won’t ever be the same but, thanks to our brothers, I become a little less hollow each day.

enough grief for one lifetime - tech
Request: no Pairing:  tech x reader Summary:  once again you help the bad batch with their injuries Warnings: SPOILERS FOR THE BAD BATCH S2E15+S2E16, angst, mentions of injuries, blood, broken bones, swearing Word count:  2.7K A/N: there I fixed it.
you told hunter you would always be one comm away. they appreciate your help, but most of the time they're too far away for you to be of any help. it's why they rarely call you.
it's also why you nearly trip over your feet as you sprint to answer them when they do comm you.
'y/n here.' you say.
for a few seconds, you hear nothing but static sounds on the other side. then you hear echo.
'...need your help... went bad... on our way...'
'echo?' you say. 'you're breaking up really bad. how far away are you?'
'...injured... going to... you... tech-'
you hear a faint beep as the comm suddenly ends.
you can feel your heart beating faster. something or someone disconnected the connection you had with the marauder. was it simply a bad connection or was someone jamming their comms? or worse?
and then there is the way echo said tech's name. you knew echo, he knows how to keep his cool in battle. but he said tech's name in a panicked tone.
you don't know how far out they are, but you start preparing straight away. you live on a hot planet, and most of the locals live in huts with a lot of big windows. you've helped most of the locals when they get injured, it's how you met the bad batch in the first place. they got stranded on your planet and sought medical attention.
after your first meeting with them, you always stocked up on medial supplies, just in case. it seemed today is the day you'll need most of them.
you've only just finished setting everything up, when one of the local kids runs into your house.
'y/n! there's a ship approaching!' he says.
you follow him outside and spot the marauder. they're coming in fast, and you anxiously watch as they land none too gently and a bit too close to the village.
as you run up to the marauder, wrecker emerges from the ship, his back to you. you frown and run a little harder. you reach the ship and see that wrecker is carrying one of his brothers.
you feel your heart stop as your eyes land on tech. wrecker has his arms hooked underneath his arms, and echo is carrying tech's legs.
it looks like tech's entire body is bruised and bloody. he looks unrecognisable. one of his eyes is swollen shut, his nose appears to be broken and his lip is cut. he's not even wearing his glasses.
you stand there, rooted to the spot. if he hadn't been wearing his signature armour, and if you hadn't committed his face to your memory, you wouldn't be able to tell it was tech at all.
of course you cared about all of them. even though you didn't see them that much. but it always had been different with tech. you'd never acted on your feelings. afraid of too many things. that it wouldn't work out and it would make things awkward between you, that he didn't feel the same way, that something would happen and that he would leave you behind.
it seems like you should have taken the chance while you still had it. now it might be too late.
you come back to your senses when you spot hunter. he's holding tech's broken glasses in his hands.
'get him to my place.' you tell wrecker. 'I've set everything up already.'
wrecker nods and heads toward your house. you turn to hunter.
'anyone else injured?' you say.
'I've got a few broken ribs. might be some internal bleeding but I can't be too sure. omega took a heavy hit, but at least she can walk for now. I'm sure she's got a pretty serious concussion. you need to look at wrecker's neck and shoulder. echo is fine, he wasn't with us when we fell down. but you need to see to tech first. he's the worst of us all right now.' hunter states.
you're grateful for hunter's quick facts. it helps put you in a concentrated mindset. tech first. then omega, hunter, and wrecker. echo could help you. tech first. tech first. tech...
you nod once at hunter, then take off running toward your house.
once you get inside, you see wrecker and echo have put tech on the makeshift medical cot. they've taken off some of his armour.
'move.' you say.
you may sound harsh, but wrecker and echo know it's because you're focused, and a little stressed. they do as you say so you can quickly assess tech.
he's unconscious, but at least he's still breathing.
your fingers trail over his body. you'd been right about his face, a black eye, broken nose, a cut lip. he doesn't appear to have any more damage to his head, which you take as a good sign. you thank the maker for tech's helmet.
after further assessment, you can tell he's dislocated his left shoulder, and he's broken his left arm. you feel along his ribs and feel a few broken ones, but miraculously he shows no sign of internal bleeding in his chest.
he's broken his left leg the same place you helped set right a while ago. it looks like he fell on his left side, because his left knee is also dislocated.
you straighten your back and look at wrecker and echo. hunter and omega have arrived as well, and omega is worriedly looking at tech.
'echo, you're going to be my assistant today. you do everything I say, understood?' you say, slipping back into the role of the village chief medic.
echo nods. 'yes ma'am.'
'I'll get started on tech. you're going to help wrecker and hunter first, so they can help omega. then you're helping me with tech.' you say. 'first, you need to put a brace on wrecker's neck and check for other injuries. wrecker, you need to make sure you don't move your head and neck too much.'
both echo and wrecker nod at you. as echo moves to help wrecker, you give out the rest of the orders.
'echo, when you're done with wrecker, see to hunter's ribs. get a bandage around his chest nice and tight. but he needs breathing room, so not too tight. hunter, you can then see to omega. make sure she rests enough and drinks enough. when she gets dizzy or lightheaded, come to me immediately. echo, when you've seen to hunter, you help me with tech.' you say.
as they all start following your orders, you focus on tech again.
you take a deep breath. it's alright. just do what you do best.
you start bandaging up his chest. nice and tight, but with breathing room. just like you told echo. one thing at a time. you move to his left shoulder, inspecting it. you'd need echo to hold tech still while you set it right, but he's still busy with the others. you settle with taking a look at tech's leg.
just as you're done with tech's leg, echo is by your side.
'tell me.' he says.
you nod. 'I need you to hold him still while I put his knee and shoulder back.'
echo moves and holds tech's leg steady while you place your hands on his knee.
'one, two, three!'
with one quick movement, you snap tech's knee back in place.
'his shoulder next.' you say.
again, echo holds him while you count down and put tech's shoulder back in place.
a part of you is glad tech is still unconscious. at least he wouldn't actually feel you putting parts of his body back where they belong.
'what next?' says echo.
'I'm going to bind his arm and see to his face.' you say. 'can you get the others to the guest bedrooms? there's also water and food in the kitchen, make sure they eat something. then they need to get some rest.'
echo nods and takes off, getting the others to the bedrooms. you turn back to tech.
you exhale a shaky breath. just a few more, then it would be out of your hands. then all you had to do was stay by his side and wait for him to wake up.
as soon as you start taking care of tech's broken arm, you fall back into an easy routine. you'd taken care of more than one broken arm. it's ironic how you could do the movements in your sleep.
once you've finished with his arm, you finally move to his face.
you take a clean bandage, and use some water to make it damp, so you can clean some of the blood off of tech's face. behind you, you hear footsteps.
'the others are resting. omega is in the big guest room, hunter refused to leave her side so we got some pillows for him. wrecker is already asleep in the other guest room, I'm taking the other cot next to him.' says echo.
'alright.' you say, surprised you can maintain such a steady voice. 'I'm nearly done with tech.'
'you should get some rest as well.' says echo.
'sure.' you say.
you and echo both know you're staying up until tech wakes again.
echo's footsteps trail up the stairs, and you hear a door close in the distance.
you turn back to tech, cleaning his face.
'don't you dare scare me like this again.' you say softly. you're aware tech probably can't hear you. but you need this.
you don't know if you could ever tell him how you felt when you saw his bruised and bloody body in the arms of wrecker and echo. you would have given anything to change places with him.
sometimes you don't understand why you still have hope he could feel the same way about you. but there's always some tiny part of you that stubbornly refuses to believe tech doesn't care about you. maybe it was all foolishness, anyway.
you pull up a chair and sit down next to tech, letting your eyes roam over his face. he didn't look like himself without his glasses. hunter had put them on a table nearby, but they were broken. knowing tech, he could probably fix them. if only he would wake up.
now that echo is gone, you let the tears fall. everything you held back while you worked on tech, it's all coming out now. you sit there in silence, tears streaming down your face. you'd been this close to losing tech. and you wouldn't talk to him because you liked him.
no, you loved him.
holy fuck, you loved tech. maybe deep down you'd known all along. that whatever you felt for him went deeper than just caring about him. you loved him. you'd go crazy if you were to lose him.
'wake up.' you say softly. 'I need you to wake up.'
you sit there for hours. the tears long gone. you're just sitting there, waiting for tech to wake up. at some point in the night, echo had come down to get a glass of water for omega.
he didn't seem surprised to see you awake. instead, after taking the glass of water up to omega, he sat with you. talked with you about tech. what had happened. you just sat in silence and listened.
after a while, echo left again. and your fear and sadness turned to anger.
how could tech have done that? how could he have left his brothers behind like that? he almost left you behind.
you're not even tired anymore. the anger is giving you a new reason to stay awake. you needed tech to wake up so you could ask him why the fuck he would do that.
it's nearly dawn, and you're getting hungry. you get up to get a quick snack from the kitchen, then you return to tech's side.
'what the fuck were you thinking tech?' you mumble softly, as you look a this beaten up face. 'you’ve got people who care about you. do you have any idea what it’s like to lose someone that means that much to you?'
the soft rays of morning sunshine begin to fill the room. you watch tech's chest rise and fall beneath the bandages.
'what the hell were you even thinking.' you mumble. ‘it's like you don't even care about us.'
‘I do care about you all.’
you nearly drop the cup of caf you are holding. surely you didn't hear that right? but when you look at tech's face, you see he's opened one eye. the other is still swollen shut.
'then why the fuck did you do it?' you say.
tech looks confused. it might be because he's still in a lot of pain.
'I do care about you all.' says tech again.
you frown, getting up and stepping closer to him. 'I need to check to see if you haven't gotten a concussion anyway.' you say.
'I do care about you all.' says tech, more firmly this time.
you frown as you look at him.
'oh.'
‘it was the only way they would be able to get to safety.’ says tech.
‘I hate heroes’ you mumble. ‘a lot of heroes go to their deaths for what they think is a noble cause. all it does is cause the people who care about them more hurt. I’ve grieved enough for one lifetime.’
tech blinks slowly, as if staying awake is taking tremendous effort.
‘I will not give you any reason to grieve.’ he says.
‘but you can't promise me that.’ you say, feeling tears well up in your eyes.
‘I can promise you I will do my best to ensure you will never have to grieve the loss of either one of my brothers. or omega. or me.’ says tech.
you quickly wipe away your tears. 'you better do your damn best, you hear me? I was terrified you wouldn't wake up.' you say.
'you look like you haven't gotten any rest.' says tech.
'I didn't. I had to see to everyone's injuries.'
'surely that did not take all night?'
'well, no.'
'then why did you stay awake?'
'I was waiting for you to wake up.'
you look at tech again. there's a look in his eyes you can't quite understand. 'seriously though, don't do that again. I was scared.' you say.
'I will try to be more cautious.' says tech.
'and less heroic.' you say.
'I am a soldier. most soldiers tend to do heroic things.' says tech.
you chuckle softly. 'didn't lose your sense of humour, huh?'
'can I ask you something regarding your medial skills?' says tech.
'sure.' you say.
'how much good can you do in this village? it seems to shrink every time we get here.' says tech.
you shrug. 'that's because it does. most people move to the city, or off-world.' you say. 'in a couple of years this village won't exist anymore.'
'we could use a medic.' says tech.
you slightly raise your eyebrows. 'you're asking me to come with you?' you say.
'yes.'
'shouldn't hunter ask me?'
'I am asking you.'
you smile softly. 'I would go with you.' you say. 'if only to make sure I don't have to set your leg right a third time.' your smile falters slightly. 'why?'
'you said you've seen enough grief for a lifetime.' says tech. 'I simply think you need to balance it out. traveling with us won't be easy, we're still wanted by the empire. but at least you will be with us. people who care about you, instead of staying in a village that's disappearing.'
'if hunter is okay with it, I'll come with you.' you say.
'I'm okay with it.'
you look over your shoulder. 'how long have you been standing there?' you say.
'long enough. welcome to the bad batch.' says hunter. 'echo's making breakfast. I'll make sure he brings two plates here for you.'
'thanks.' you say as hunter leaves.
you turn back to tech. 'looks like you're stuck with me.' you say.
'I don't mind being stuck with you.' says tech. 'and thank you.'
'for what?'
'taking care of me.'
you impatiently wave your hand. 'I'm a medic. it's what I do tech.'
'true. but you did not have to stay with me all night. you have my thanks for that, too.'
'you're welcome, tech. now get some rest.'

𝐢’𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 — 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉
Tumblr media
summary — he’s falling and you risk yourself to save him
warnings — bad batch finale spoilers, fem!jedi!reader, angst, fluff, this is a fix if fic i will not accept the finale until there is a body ‼️
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓. you voiced your distaste for the riskiness of the plan, but the eyes omega gave you gave you no choice. being this close to the empire put you at risk, especially since they’d still kill a jedi at the mere sight of one. the fear slowly waned, seeing as the clones were going out of commission and the new troops, stormtroopers, didn’t know what a jedi looked like when one was standing right in front of them. you knew not to get used to that comfort.
tracking hemlock to see where he was going wasn’t a bad idea. the bad part of the plan was the location. it was a heavily guarded and fortified base holding very important commanders and information. the goal was to track hemlock to see where he’d been taking clones who defected, but your gut was churning.
“you look ill,” tech’s voice disrupted your thoughts as you landed. your eyes moved to meet his, a sigh escaping your lips.
“i’ve just got a bad feeling about this whole thing,” you admitted softly. tech’s eyes shifted downwards, mainly at your hands. he’d been getting used to being in an established relationship with you, and it had taken quite some time for him to get used to it.
“we’ll be fine,” he spoke in the softest voice he could muster. he wasn’t good at hiding his bluntness, but he was sure of himself and the plan. though risky, it would work. you nodded your head and smiled, stepping off the marauder with the rest of the bad batch.
of course, saw gerarra had to mess up everything. he blew up the compound. you probably would have done the same thing in hindsight, but it was not the time. your anxiety doubled as sirens sounded, as stormtroopers flooded the halls. even if you were on a rail car, getting away, you were still having to deal with the troopers on your car. you held a blaster, firing at them before the car came to a stop. your breaths could only be heard as you waited. they’d found out, and no one needed to voice that.
“what’s going on?” wrecker asked. you looked out of the slats of the back of the rail car, sensing something in the air.
“three ships inbound,” came the voice of your boyfriend, who’d volunteered to get the power back on to the rail car. your eyes scanned the sky, not being able to see what tech was seeing.
“where are they?” omega asked, and just as she did, three ships emerged from the clouds, blasters firing at the rail cars. things blurred after that. you fired your blaster along with hunter of the car, everything started to wobble from the impact. it wasn’t until the ships were coming back for another shot that your mind cleared and realized what was going on.
“where’s tech?” you asked, eyes frantically searching the area. he hadn’t made it back inside the car and the ships were coming back towards you. you peaked over the end of the car. you saw now why attachment was forbidden to the jedi, your mind completely froze. your boyfriend was hanging beneath the car, attached by a cable. every step wrecker took caused the car to topple, which would send you all to your deaths. you swallowed, nerves and fear creating a forbidden cocktail in your stomach.
“tech,” you whispered as you stepped closer and closer.
“i have to do this,” he shouted, “plan 99,” he finished, and you barely heard him. your stomach dropped and your eyes stung with realization. you shook your head, unable to form words.
tech aimed his blaster at the cable, and with a squeeze of the trigger, the bolt freed both him and the rail car. before echo could get the power back online, which would be a few seconds, your stomach dropped and your instincts took over. you were not losing tech today. you reached out with your hand, the force flowing through you with a strong current, saying thank you.
“i’ve got you,” you whispered. you grabbed ahold of tech, tears rolling down your cheeks as you strained to pull him up and into the rail car. once inside, the power kicked back on and you lurched with the car, racing towards the other side. you wrapped your arms around tech, and surprisingly, he did the same. you melted into him, trying your hardest to keep it together.
“don’t ever do that again,” you muttered against his shoulder.
“i won’t unless i have to, even then apparently you’ll be there to catch me,” he murmured, which was one of the sweetest things tech said. the words were sweet on his tongue because they were true; you’d always have his back.
Tumblr media
tech isn’t dead until i see a body. period.
anyways it’s been a while and i apologize! i know i have some requests to get to and i will get to those! i just had to crank this guy out because i am in mourning.

Crosshair x Jedi Reader One-shot
Tumblr media
Summary: Crosshair keeps mentioning how clones are expendable. You snap and the rest of the batch urges Crosshair to finally confess how he feels about you.
Genre: Fluff, some angst
Warnings: Kissing, Crosshair being a shebs' oglon😂, and a smidge of suggestiveness at the end, if you squint.
Key for Mando’a words: Di'kut: idiot, shebs' oglon: a**hole, dank farrik: dang it, meg te haran: what the hell.
With Crosshair back in the squad, things have been……peculiar between the two of you. He was quite the brute and rude sniper when he first met you, and after everything he’s been through, you didn’t know how he currently felt about you.
I mean, sure, you had feelings for the snarky sniper man. But those feelings had to be pushed away when he left, to focus more on protecting the rest of the crew. Not that you forgot about him for a second. With him back, you didn’t know how you felt.
Normally, he was usually a decent human-being towards you. Sure, you weren’t the closest, but you had a few exchanges, and you swear you caught him staring at you curiously a few times before all this Empire stuff happened.
But, these past few days were filled with overly snarky comments, even for him. They dealt with pretty touchy subjects in your life that you had never mentioned to the batch previously because they were about painful experiences.
For example, the other day Crosshair mentioned how the Jedi never cared about clone troopers and that they were just expendable to them.
This got on your nerves because you believed in the exact opposite. The clones were your dearest friends and you had tried your best to treat them all as individuals. But, Crosshair didn’t know that, so you kept your mouth shut and ignored him.
This went on for some time. Crosshair would say something and you tried your best to ignore him, so far it had worked out.
One day, you just snapped.
Hunter decided a break was greatly needed. The Batch had been on mission after mission with no rest in between. Though you wanted to continue with missions, your body simply couldn’t comply. You agreed with Hunter, and a few hours later Tech landed the Marauder on a nearby forest planet.
Wrecker was playing with Omega and Gonky. Echo was taking a well deserved nap. Tech was on his data pad, as usual. And Hunter was sharpening his knife while watching Omega and Wrecker with a smile.
All seemed well.
Well, not really, because Crosshair decided he wanted to die today. He brought up how clones were expendable, again.
“We’re just a bunch of numbers to everyone!” Crosshair shouted, you scrunched your nose in frustration.
“No, you’re not! You were to the Empire, but not to the Jedi!” Crosshair scoffed.
“Oh, so you speak for the whole Jedi order, then? Huh?” You gulped.
“Well, no. But I never saw you that way!” Crosshair folded his arms.
“Why? What’s so special about you that made you feel so bad for us? Do you pity us?” Your eyes widened.
“Of course not! I-I” You sighed. “I just relate to you I guess..” You said quieter.
“Relate to us? You don’t know us-“
“I get it, I don't know you! Okay! I get it! You don’t have to keep saying that!” You fumed then stalked out of the ship. You ran past a curious Tech, a groggy Echo who was obviously annoyed, a concerned Hunter and a confused Omega and Wrecker.
You ran out to what looked like a grove of trees. You continued to run until you found a small opening that revealed a little stream. You sat down beside it and slumped.
Stupid Crosshair, what does he know? You sighed. It’s not his fault, you thought. It’s not like I’ve told him anyway.
Back at the Marauder.
Crosshair looked down and frowned. Di'kut, he thought to himself. He ran a hand through his silver hair and sighed.
Someone cleared their throat. Crosshair turned to see the rest of the batch in the hall. He pursed his lips. Hunter raised a brow.
“You know you messed up, right?” Hunter commented.
“Well, by analyzing his heavy sighing, brooding, and self loathing, yes, yes he does know.” Tech stated matter of factly as he pushed his goggles up his nose. Crosshair frowned.
“What does loathing mean?” Omega asked. Hunter glared at Tech. Echo facepalmed. “And what’s up with Crosshair? Why does he argue with her so much?” Omega tilted her head curiously. Crosshair just rolled his eyes. Hunter huffed and turned to the others silently asking, care to answer?
Wrecker shrugged, Echo gave a look that said don’t look at me. Tech sighed and pushed his goggles up his nose again.
“It’s quite obvious. Crosshair likes her.” Crosshair’s eyes widened and he ran a hand down his face.
“Is it really that obvious?” He crossed his arms and raised a brow at the crew. Everyone nodded their heads. Except Omega, she just shrugged her shoulders. Crosshair breathed a laugh.
“Well, what do you think I should do?” He asked almost teasingly. Wrecker’s hand immediately shot up. The rest of the batch rolled their eyes.
“Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me! Pick me!” He shouted jumping up and down. Crosshair sighed and rolled his eyes.
“Yes, Wrecker?” He pointed to him tiredly. Wrecker beamed.
“You should confess to her!” Wrecker yelled cheerfully. Omega beamed finally understanding.
“Yes! You should Crosshair!” Omega agreed, jumping happily. Wrecker picked her up and spun her around.
“See, she gets it!” Wrecker shouted happily. Omega giggled. He put her down and ruffled her hair. Hunter chuckled at their exchange then turned to Crosshair.
“So,” he folded his arms and raised a brow playfully. “You gonna take their advice?” Crosshair looked at him. He sighed and huffed. He rolled his eyes and looked down. Should I? He cleared his throat.
“Fine,” he stated. Then stood straight and walked past them. Tech looked up from his data pad.
“Wait, he’s actually going to do it?” Hunter nodded his head surprised as they watched Crosshair leave the ship.
“Well, it’s about time,” Echo stated. Omega and Wrecker shouted happily as they started to dance around the ship. The rest of the batch laughed.
Crosshair walked out of the ship mumbling to himself. Today of all days, he thought. He wanted to confess to you sometime when he didn’t act like a total shebs' oglon. He continued to walk and found the clearing.
He spotted you just standing there, staring into a stream. Crosshair didn’t move, he mentally sighed. Gosh, what am I doing?
“You know, I love the clones,” you said all of a sudden. Crap, she knows I’m here. Crosshair then remembered. Oh, I forgot. She’s a Jedi, she can sense people.
“Even after Order 66, I still do,” You continued. Crosshair listened intently.
“I’ve spent countless, countless nights lying awake during the Clone War. Crying, wishing I could’ve saved so many of them. I mourned for every soldier I fought with.” You laughed sadly. “That actually goes against the Jedi Code. No attachments. But I did it anyway.” Crosshair’s eyes widened.
“I made it a priority to know each member of my battalion individually. I never wanted to know their numbers, I wanted to know what they wanted to be called. I wanted to know their names, so that for once, they could feel like a person. Not a clone, not a soldier, a person.” You finally turned to Crosshair, tears in your eyes.
“I loved them. So, I don’t care how expendable you think you are,” you paused. “Because you were never, never expendable to me.” You pointed to yourself. Crosshair's face turned to sorrow. Gosh, I did this to her.
“I-“ Crosshair choked on his words. You frowned and turned away.
“You know why I say I relate to the clones?” You turned back to Crosshair. He looked at you and silently nodded his head. “I don’t even know why I’m telling you this-“ Crosshair walked up to you and gently grabbed your right hand with his left.
“Please, I want to know. I want to know everything,” he looked down at your hand and softly rubbed his thumb along the back of it. You swallowed.
“Okay.” Crosshair looked up at you and gave a small smile. You gave a grateful smile back.
“I never knew where I came from, I was just told I was found in a raided village. I was the only survivor,” You breathed. “The Jedi took me in, raised me….” You looked down with a frown.
“I can’t help but think, if I wasn’t taken in by the Jedi, would I have still been one? What if a Sith found me, would I have become a Sith? Would I have been a bounty hunter? Or join the Senate? I never really had a choice. I was kind of born into it.” You looked up at Crosshair.
“That’s why I say I relate to you guys. Clones, I mean. You never had a choice, though you’re treated much harsher, I can’t help but connect with you.” Crosshair nodded his head.
“That makes sense,” he used his right hand to grab your left. “I had no idea. I’m so sorry.” You looked at him and smiled gratefully.
“You don’t have to be. I just wanted you to know.”
Crosshair nodded his head and smiled a little.
“I understand,” he swallowed then pulled away from you. He turned around and hugged himself.
“I just saw another Jedi trying to take pity on us clones, and I got angry at you, I lashed out on you and that wasn’t right,” Crosshair sighed then turned back to you, he looked down at the ground.
“It’s just been hard. You know? Ever since the Empire stuff, I don’t really know who I am. Was it the chip? Was it me? Why did I feel obligated to serve the Empire even though they never gave me a reason to want to?” You nodded your head.
“I get it. But, I don’t think it was your fault. You’re a good man, Crosshair.” You placed a gentle hand on Crosshair’s shoulder. Crosshair blushed. You retracted your hand away awkwardly.
“Errr, sorry.” Crosshair shook his head.
“No, it’s fine.” You backed away.
“I just feel the same. I devoted my whole life to being a Jedi. Now that the Jedi order is gone, I don’t know who I am anymore. I don’t know who I should be.” Crosshair took a step forward.
“Who do you want to be?” You looked at him, then contemplated. You smiled a little.
“I want to be….good. I want to help people. Helping people gives me a sense of joy. I want to give that same joy to other people.” Crosshair gave a faint smile. You grinned.
“Who do you want to be?” Crosshair breathed a laugh.
“I want to be…. a good brother. I want to make up for all the times I treated them like bantha crap.” You giggled.
“I’m serious,” Crosshair said with a smirk. Here goes my lame attempt at flirting. Now or never.
“I also want to be better to you too.” You looked down and blushed. What?!
“You already are a good brother. A great brother even. I see the way you help them. They don’t say it very often but I know for a fact that they love you very much. They never forgot about you when you left. You never left their mind for a second.” Crosshair hummed to himself.
“Not really Omega though.” You gasped.
“What? Definitely Omega, though she didn’t know you very well, she talked about you constantly and how she believed the real you was in there somewhere.” Crosshair smiled to himself.
“She thinks you’re an amazing brother.” Crosshair smirked. Let’s take it a little further shall we?
“And what about you?” Crosshair walked forward until he stood right in front of you. “Do you think I’m a good brother?” You gulped and looked down.
“Well….” You tucked a hair behind your ear. Dank Farrik. Crosshair chuckled. “I don’t really see you as a brother..” Crosshair leaned his face closer to yours.
“Oh really?” Crosshair lifted Y/N’s chin so that she would look at him. This is actually working out better than I thought it would. She’s so cute when she’s flustered.
“What do you see me as then, hmmm?” You let out a shaky breath.
“I-I” Crosshair leaned even closer, his nose brushing against yours. Oh my gosh! What is he doing?!
“C’mon, say it. What am I to you? A friend?” You looked at Crosshair. Well, meg te haran.
“No…..” you whispered. “I see you as more than that.” Crosshair smirked.
“Right answer.” Crosshair leaned in and placed a firm kiss on you lips. You let out a small gasp, then kissed back. Crosshair groaned and leaned back, placing a softer kiss.
Wait, is this actually happening? You thought to yourself as you felt Crosshair’s lips on yours. Am I dreaming?
You responded with a hum of contentment and slipped your hands over his chest. Crosshair smirked and deepened the kiss as he tilted his head.
Nope, definitely not dreaming. You thought as Crosshair placed his hands on the sides of her face. He held your face then moved his hands down to hold your neck gently. You hummed again and smiled.
Crosshair slowly moved his hands down to your shoulders, down your arms until he held your waist. You smiled as Crosshair continued to kiss you with passion. You moved your arms up to Crosshair’s neck and ran your hands through his short, silver hair.
What is this girl doing to me? He moaned and gripped your waist tighter.
After a while, Crosshair leaned back to catch his breath. You took deep breaths. He smirked and held your cheek. He rubbed his thumb along it, you looked at him with half lidded eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that. You’re going to make me want to do something I’ll regret.” You smirked and leaned forward. You whispered in his ear.
“I know I won’t regret it.” Crosshair chuckled darkly and leaned in again.

The Bad Batch In The Kitchen
Tumblr media
Tech is a firm believer that baking is merely science with food. And science should leave no room for error. Timings should be down to the second; measurements should be withing 2 decimal points. Or it needs to be thrown out and restarted. Good luck trying to do anything other than read out the instructions for him, and even then he’ll be double checking them himself. It’s probably better to just leave him to it and reap the rewards of whatever he’s making later.
Tumblr media
Wrecker will 100% forget to preheat the oven. It can leave some of his stuff a bit raw in the middle. One of his brothers, normally Echo, would discreetly put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes so Wrecker believes he did it right. Wrecker will always add popping candy to anything he makes, even if it doesn’t go with what he’s making. “It’s like explosions all in my mouth!”
Tumblr media
All that can be said about Hunter is, never let this man within 5ft of a kitchen. The whole place will be on fire if he makes a sandwich. He can only go in there under supervision and even then a risk assessment must be made by the rest of the squad.
Tumblr media
If you don’t think Echo has arm attachments to help him in the kitchen you’re insane. One time the squad got called into an emergency mission and he forgot to detach his mini whisk. None of the brothers have let him live it down. In the kitchen itself, Echo is probably the most standard. He follows the instructions, adjusts for any mistakes, always fully cooked, if not a little overdone at times. He’s probably the best one to ask for help in the kitchen if you don’t want another galactic war to break out.
Tumblr media
This cocky little shit doesn’t even like being in the kitchen all that much, yet he has the most natural talent. His enhanced vision lets him eyeball measurements with extreme accuracy. He’ll wait until Tech has to be in the room before he starts pouring ingredients in without weighing them, just to see his brother absolutely lose his cool.
Tumblr media
Now, all of them in one kitchen together? You know there’s no chance of anything getting done, except a mess. Whether it starts with Wrecker knocking something over, or Crosshair purposefully throwing off Tech’s measurements, it will end in a food war with a huge mess to clean up. How one squad can work perfectly together on the battlefield, but can’t make a cake to save their lives is beyond you.

“Did they teach you plan 72?”
Imagine Omega learning all the plans during one of her lessons with Tech, and the sheer horror on her face when she discovers what plan 99 entials. She’ll turn to him, terrified, and ask “we won’t have to use that plan, will we?”. He’ll look at her for a long moment, before eventually saying “I should certainly hope not”. Reassured by this, she’ll turn back to the data-pad and continue memorising the rest of the plans. But Tech will continue to stare at her for a long time afterwards, brown eyes sad behind his goggles. Because he knows, deep down, if the situation ever came to it;
He’d use plan 99 in a heartbeat.

(The Bad Batch) How He Is with His Newborn Baby
Hunter: He adores them and spends a lot of time holding them. Hunter is also really big on the whole skin-to-skin contact, so it becomes a common thing to see him walking around shirtless with the baby cradled snugly in one arm. He gets pretty good at performing tasks around the home with the baby. He's enraptured by the little one, but also very attentive to your needs. Hunter makes sure you take the time you need to eat, shower, and just have time to relax every now and then. Literally, any excuse to hold them some more, and he's giving it. He is good at rocking the baby in such a way that they fall asleep instantly in his arms.
Wrecker: The baby has him wrapped around their tiny finger already. He's already telling them how much he loves them and how proud he is. Wrecker also just spends time telling them all the fun things they're going to do together when they're old enough to walk, talk, etc. He is so unbelievably gentle and sweet with the little one in general, and also of course with you. He'll randomly stare at you and tell you how beautiful you are and what a good job you're doing.
Tech: This baby is not at the point where they can retain any information yet, but Tech spends plenty of time just talking to them. He talks about anything his mind can conjure up. The baby becomes so accustomed to the sound of his voice that it has quite the soothing effect. Additionally, Tech is very quick to pick up on the baby's cycle of needs. It gets to the point where they cry, and he can glance at his chrono and pinpoint exactly what they need according to the little schedule he's created. He also regularly checks the baby's weight, vitals, to make sure they're in good health. From time to time he voices yet again how fascinating the miracle of birth is and how proud he is of you, also checking your health.
Echo: Spends the first few weeks only holding the baby when sitting down. He can't get over how fragile they are, and he just sits there and stares at them as long as he can in amazement and adoration before they wake up from their nap or fuss about something they need. When the baby bursts into a fit of wails, he goes into a bit of a panic mode worrying about what's wrong. Eventually, he gets more comfortable and gets used to the idea that the baby is just communicating a need. It doesn't take long for him to become a professional dad. He gets pretty organized with the diaper bag and supplies so that he can just pull out whatever the baby needs at the drop of a hat.
Crosshair: He spends a good while just quietly holding the baby in his arms and watching them. Internally, he thinks they're absolutely precious and realizes he loves them so much. He already knew he'd love them, but he didn't realize it would feel like this. The baby is heart-wrenchingly cute, and he'd do anything to protect them. You come to find that he becomes more vocal, telling the baby in a sort of Crosshair-style sarcasm that they need to get their act together every time he has to handle a diaper change, feeding, etc. He's up with you at any hour day or night to help with the baby without a complaint, and regularly makes sure you're taking care of yourself also.
