HAPPY 19TH DGM ANNIVERSARY & some other notes on DGM!

I'm a little late but HAPPY 19TH DGM ANNIVERSARY!!!! Time flies fast and this series accompanied my thoughts and heart for almost two decades now!

This first preface will stay a long time in my thoughts. Thank you for letting us join in on your wonderful journey, Hoshino ⋆｡°✩

I recently listened again to Blue Moon sung by Ella Fitzgerald and ... it's giving me Mana, Allen and Neah (or the whole cast haha) feelings ;;

I had some other notes I wanted to share since the previous post, so here it goes!

(SPOILERS UP TO CH247!!!!)

▶ Innocence & Akuma and Timcampy Innocence is attracted by Akuma, as though they once formed a whole together:

(the imagery here haunts me, especially with a heart in the background and the cross in the middle!!)

-> the story insists on informing us Innocence and Akuma balance each other and hold equal power over each other -> at the Asian branch, Allen’s Innocence reactivates only once he saw an Akuma ; the 3rd generations arm and Allen’s Innocence activated on their own when they were close -> the Innocence takes the shape of a bust deprived of head, arms and legs, but it has wings (and the recent chapters mainly represent Innocence with wings eg. Mugen, Apocryphos and Allen) ; the Akuma egg is a head in itself -> the Innocence’s mark on the exorcists looks like a cross but also the stigma on the Noah’s forehead -> both evolve in the same fashion. However, Akuma seem to me visually more ‘complete’ than the Innocence (eg. in Phantom G ark, even the children, the Prioress and Emilia thought a Level 4 was an angel): some are seen with more defined human features, wings, halo, tail, horns altogether. It’s curious how Level 4 Akuma (and Alma also) are designed with a halo, which is generally a symbol of holiness in art.

-> Skull use what looks like ladybug to create their barriers (which can prevent anyone except Akuma from entering, nullify Allen’s left eye power and his ability to summon the Ark).

In some cultures and languages, ladybugs are often seen as a good-luck charm and are linked to heaven and God. For example, in french, we call them ‘bêtes à bon Dieu’ (something like God’s creature) since the Middle Age. Its name can even be associated with the Virgin Mary (ladybug/bird or in german, Marienkäfer means Mary’s beetle). In japanese, the word for ladybug is 天道虫, ‘tentou-mushi’ which literally means 'Heaven Path bug'. It can also be written with the kanji for 'red' and 'girl' respectively, 紅娘.

Now, this is a wild reach which might lead nowhere (surely like the others 8D), but the Crows are the only ones described by their red silhouettes (you would expect their costumes to be jet black, by their title) and the two red dots on their forehead. There are also many black ladybug species with two red spots on their wings eg. the twice-stabbed lady beetle.

-> Just another wild speculation but if the song heard when the Dark Boots crystallized itself around Lenalee was the lullaby (the only song mentioned in the story along with Lala’s and Maria’s), what to make of it?

While the Innocence only affected non-exorcists (supposedly because its will is overwhelming to them, according to Bookman), Level 4 Akuma seem to have the same head-crushing cry and it incapacitates exorcists, to the point that they struggle to synchronize.

Only the dead like Maria seems to remain unaffected. However, in ch147, Link was still able to move to save Allen from the collapse.

-> The only instances Akuma and Innocence use each other’s attributes are Akuma 4 (wings) and Fallen Ones’ (halo) designs.

-> The Earl is determined to keep the Akuma’s true nature hidden from the Heart, because there’s something in there it could use as an advantage. It suggests something could directly be done by the Heart if it knew that piece of information eg. control both Innocence and Akuma or turn Akuma into Innocence or vice versa? Idek anymore haha

-> Timcampy is the only character to have both the Innocence and the Akuma/Earl attributes, wings and horns. And we also had THIS cover (the second picture, I never saw it colored before I re-read DGM and idk if this was established it was Timcampy):

Not to mention Timcampy’s weird deus ex machina entrance to motivate Allen again in ch53 (when he was giving up on saving Suman)?

▶ The Chang, Akuma, Skulls and Link A detail I forgot to mention in the first post was that Link’s tattoo, as expected, share the same motif with the ones inked on the Chang to link them to Fō as it’s shown in volume 21. Similar tattoos were on Alma’s arms and belly since that magic was also used on him.

Level 4 Akuma and Skulls also share the same marks?????

Fô’s head ‘accessory’ looks like the Akuma egg’s design:

Skulls (the katakana highlighted in green on the screenshots), like the Chang family, are also sorcerers. The manga introduces them in japanese with the title 守化縷 (the kanji highlighted in yellow on the screenshots), which literally can be translated as ‘guard(ian) of the thread’.

Now what's a synonym of thread?

… It’s Link!!!! The coincidence goes even further with Link’s last name, Howard. According to wikipedia’s entry:

????????? I don’t know what to make of this, but this sure isn’t pure coincidence. This and the way Apocryphos and Lavi called Link ‘watchdog’ as well as Kanda ‘Luberrier’s dog’ insists on his role as a guard. But whose? Allen’s? Luberrier’s? Somebody/thing else?

-> According to his profile in volume 20, Edgar Chang Martin, part of a secondary Chang branch, was related to a great sorcerer involved with the Order. The sorcerer was german. Link is also german (like Kiredori, Tewaku, Goushi, Madarao and Tokusa), I don’t believe we have other german profiles in the story nor blondes like him, Bak’s father and Bak himself (oh, and I forgot ofc our girl Miranda!!). Link could be related to that great german sorcerer and thus be an heir of Atuuda, unbeknownst to Zuu (but I wonder how that would be groundbreaking for the story?)

-> the spells the Chang use could be related to/even originate from the Skull’s (given how the manga hints at how ancient Skull’s sorcery is). The operation to bestow the power to cast magic to the Crows could be similar to how the Skull tinkered with the scientists’ head in volume 15.

-> heck, dude could even be linked to Timcampy, they’re both gold (I’m half-joking at this point idek anymore 8D) and Timcampy uses the same sanskrit-inspired magic as the Skulls (eg. when Tim destroys the barrier to save Allen during his battle against Alma and Kanda). Hoshino also emphasizes the importance of the gold color in the manga (the Noah’s eyes, Timcampy, Allen getting hungry over this color, the Campbell mansion’s landscape, …) just as the silver/gray color, so there might be something? Also, Cornelia’s wood can destroy Timcampy. Cornelia derivates from the latin cornix, which means crow…………… Please e x p l a i n

Also, what is this ‘thread’ the Skulls have the duty to protect? Their main duty is to protect the Akuma egg?

Now three things will keep bothering me until we get answers in the manga:

2) These pages following each other (and the last two are literally back to back, it’s more visible when you read the physical copy + it’s Link’s right hand and Allen’s left):

(Of course I know Atuuda acted up once Link subconsciously shook when he thought of Apocryphos and this is a smooth way to have a transition to Neah’s pov, but the panelling is still interesting here)

3) What Zuu really meant to say to Link before he was interrupted by Luberrier (and I don’t think it was the whole ’becoming the 14th’s ally’ because Luberrier was clear on that in front of Link only some pages later)?????

▶ Cross and his mask Hoshino hinted that both Lavi’s eyepatch and Cross’s mask are mysteries to be unveiled. The mark on his mask looks like the Innocence and the Noah’s stigma. It also looks like Mana’s Pierrot makeup, or even the Pillar mentioned in volume 27:

The shape of his mask looks like a coffin? (It could also be a visual recall of Grave of Maria, but who knows!)

It reminds me of the "La" + "Vi" cover and the 'box' protecting the egg also looks like a coffin:

▶ Road We now know Road was even able to manipulate Allen/Neah’s dreams without even interacting with them (unlike with Lavi). She even invited Cross’ dreamy-whatever-consciousness in it (because I’m sure Cross himself was conscious of it to some extent and was able to give some hints to Allen even though he was used by Road), which persuaded Allen to go to the Campbell mansion. Could it be that she also tampered with Lenalee and Allen’s nightmares after she met them (or at the very least Allen, since the manga shows how the dream strongly motivated him to reactivate his Innocence)?

I find it even more curious she’s named like that when one of Allen’s elements of crisis over his identity is following a road already traced by somebody else.

Road might have something to do with the Heart (that and also the fact her iconic door is heart-shaped, with a checked pattern and a crown on top?)?

▶ Apocryphos Ch247 finally established the link between the Cube’s prophecies and Apocryphos: the Cube is regarded by the Order as the official « text » on the Innocence and the three days of doom, the Heart is mentioned but there is no trace of Apocryphos in there. Just as the truth on the 3 days of doom the Noah claim to exist. Also just as the Heart is capable to create dupes to escape the Earl. Apocryphos is a literal reference to the apocrypha, texts deemed unauthentic by religious authorities. According to the Cambridge dictionary, « an apocryphal story is probably not true although it is often told and believed by some people to have happened. » The one the most tricked so far in the story seems to be the Order.

▶ Cross in volume 17

In volume 17, Cross asks Allen « What if I told you that when you become the 14th you will have to kill the people (or someone) you care about? ». To which Allen answers: « What do you mean I have to kill the people (or someone) I care about?! »

In the original version, Cross uses « daijina ningen (人間) » for ‘the people (or someone) you care about’ ; Allen uses « daijina hito (人) ».

Which is curious for Cross because hito (人) would generally be used here: both mean human, but while 人 refers to ‘human’ as a person, 人間 refers to ‘human’ as the species in a taxonomic classification. Is it to highlight the true nature of Neah as a Noah apart from the humans Allen came to care about along his way? Does Cross also set himself apart from the humanity as a 3rd party?

▶ Funny how Link and Mana can be associated in the manga: -> ch137, « Orphan and Clown », introduces Link to Allen when he’s still trying to figure out why the Ark’s partition uses the signs Mana taught him and is questioned by Link about it. It is later revealed in the manga Link was an orphan before joining the Crow. -> in ch183, Allen inadvertently voices his memories of Mana to Link -> in ch212, « Searching for A.W.: Calling You », as Allen loses consciousness, fighting Neah’s awakening, he calls out to Link but instead is greeted by a vision of a young Mana, calling out to Neah. This chapter also introduces the importance of Allen’s name to save him from Neah’s dreams. The original version for ‘Calling You’ is ‘’君を呼ぶ ‘ (kimi wo yobu). ‘Kimi’ is the pronoun both Mana and Link use in the manga ; past!Allen also seemed to use it with Neah. Johnny and Kanda both use omae for Allen.

EDIT: Allen also uses 'kimi' so the chapter's title works both ways (in French, the title was translated as "Écoute ma voix" which is "Listen to my voice", I like the way the calling works interchangeably!)!

-> in ch213, Link faces a mirror shirtless like Mana does later in volume 25:

-> in ch220, « Searching for A.W.: He Closes His Eyes Tighter in a Vortex », Neah recalls the Earl he’s Mana but remains in denial and Link admits being conflicted over Allen and Neah

Link, Neah and Cross share similar positions and the panelling adds to this parallel:

-> Link was given the order to aid Neah but hopes that Allen overcomes his fate as his host.

-> Neah awakens years later and faces the Earl, struggling with Mana’s memory ; he’s determined to destroy him even if he holds him dear.

-> Cross had to witness Mana's struggle against the Earl. Yet he still had to carry on his mission even when the Earl possessed Mana. Then he had to watch Allen being slowly taken over by Neah. Cross's message in ch173 hits even harder given his link with Mana and Neah: "You may not want to listen to someone like me who carries the will of the Fourteenth… But if you think either of us is forcing you to walk a certain path… I want you to know that’s not true. A path forms behind you as you walk. The earth you step on is compressed, leaving a print. You’re the only one who can make your path. So stop wearing Mana’s mask. Walk in your own if you haven’t given up." Perhaps he even said similar words to an anguished Mana (or he wished to have said them). He had to watch them go, one after the other, helplessly.

▶ The moon, D. and C.

Are the D and the C just stylized in Mana and Luberrier’s names? At least for Mana’s and Neah’s, the D. could hold some meaning since it even was ch218’s title. Hoshino dreamed to become an astronaut, loves the moon and the stars (they’re even part of her name and her own mascot) and used it a lot in her previous works.

In DGM, the moon is seen in its different phases at important moments. It mainly signals the passing of time (eg. how long has Allen been on the run) or gives atmospheric context to the scenes, but sometimes it holds a symbolic meaning:

-> The first Noah reunion shows the moon phases on each chair

-> It is part of the Musician's Score's lyrics (from the french official translation): « Tu étincelles, toi, l’enfant né sous une tremblante lune d’argent. » which could be « You shine, the child born underneath a trembling silver moon ».

-> It frames a romantic scene between Crowley and Eliade:

-> The moon and the stars are used in chapter titles eg. ch129, « Black and white, 0° » (a reference to the new moon) and ch144 « Black star, red star »

-> It’s foreboding in Lenalee & Allen’s nightmares and Allen’s prophecy as the Destroyer of time:

-> The full moon appears when two characters reunite: in astronomy, a syzygy is a « situation that occurs when the sun, the moon (or a planet), and the earth are in a straight line. This occurs when the moon (or planet) is at conjunction (new moon) or opposition (full moon) ». Syzygy comes from the ancient greek συζυγία which means junction, reunion.

As for the D and the C, when the moon waxes it is shaped like a D, and when wanes it appears as a C. Could this be a coincidence? The C in Luberrier could also be Campbell, but for now the mystery surrounding his family is far from being revealed.

▶ Timothy and Allen In ch183, « Wash your face and you’ll be alright », Timothy and the Prioress face the sunset the same way Mana and Red did as later revealed in ch238:

For my BNHA/MHA Shifters, for those who have shifted. Is it 2D, but still 3d in a way, or is it like how it is here in our CR? (3d or 8d whatever this is called)

Second question is, I keep seeing shifters from tiktok that the BNHA/MHA spoke English. It wasn't clarified if the Japanese Language didn't exist in their DR. It's just that they prefer the English dub, and I was like, "Hey, I kinda do like that" But I wasn't sure of this yet. And another person I saw scripted that, they're all speaking Japanese, but to them it's like in English Dub, but they're also speaking Japanese with them, and I was like "Hey that's kinda cool!" Yet in the comments we're like debates, saying that they should just scripted they can speak and understand Japanese without the English thing. Honestly me, Both Japanese and English are so good, but I'm leaning more towards English .

I really feel like...what's hindering me from really shifting is that I HAVEN'T decided what I wanted with these 2 questions. And I really want to hear what you guys scripted in your BNHA/MHA DR. Because it would really meant the world to me. My indecisive ass is what hindering me, I can feel it. PLEASE HELP, I NEED YOUR INSIGHTS THANK YOU MWA!!!

I still can't believe that the thing that got me out of a 2 years writing block is Luigi and Bowser from Mario fucking, and all because of that damn trailer. It opened the gates, my friends. It opened the flood gates.

I have two settings for this ship : teeth-rotting fluff or fucked up angst, BUT in every case it has to have Luigi being a little freak for Bowser's Bad Dragon 8D

I'm sorry for the people who get uncomfortable with such ships but I like when it's love at first murder attempt <3

I like it when fics make it about both of them having insecurities and bringing out the best AND the worst of each other.

The key difference between Bowuigi and Booigi is that Booigi is funny because Luigi and KB are sworn enemies (well, on KB's side at least), while Bowuigi is funny because they are NOT supposed to mean anything to each other.

I have so many "bad endings" to Luigi's Mansion games, you have no idea...

Even when I don't ship them (like in a verse/AU/fic where Luigi is with someone else), you can be sure King Boo plays a role, usually Luigi going "before we start dating I have to tell you about this guy who wants my head on a plate or at least in a painting."

Thinking about the whole way there is a moral panic rn about “pedophilia” and that while I don’t believe in most of it even I am afraid to wonder aloud what proper sex Ed should be for people too young to consent to sex

Like obvi they should know what the parts are, how they work, And That unfortunately diseases like to live on those parts even when they’re too fragile to live on other parts. But like, stuff about how sexuality WORKS.

I had the vague sense I was probably gay from a young age and the5 was okay, but I also have the much less vague sense I was probably sadomasochistic, too, and there was absolutely nothing in popular culture to tell me that didn’t make me horrible and evil. I literally asked a shrink to lock me up once as I was unsure I could keep to celibacy, and surely that meant 8d do harm. I think I was seventeen?

People need information, and sometimes the information people need is explicit. Not because grooming is okay, but because kids don’t fantasize on some exact developmental timeline of milestones, and if you wait to give them information until the milestone is hit, they can invent a hell of a lot of “surely this means I’m inherently evil and should maybe die?” while you’re waiting.

Summary: Four grown siblings return to their childhood hometown after their father is declared to be terminal. They are forced to live under the same roof for days, along with their overbearing mother, to say their final goodbyes. It starts off nostalgic until some unresolved family issues along with an assortment of spouses, exes, and might-have-beens make things even more interesting.

A/N: Just kidding! I said third of three updates but...I had this scene that I initially was going to work into Part 9 but it didn't quite fit so now it's 8D 🤡

After you walk out the door and into the waiting van, where your brothers and sister-in-law are already waiting, Hobi doesn't linger. He walks toward the bar to check on a few more things to ensure that the place will be ready for reopening the next day.

As he looks up for a fraction of a second, he sees you climb into the van, followed by Namjoon who was right behind you. He looks away again just before the door shuts. Not long after, he feels an arm encircle his waist and a hand brushing his cheek. He turns his face to lean into the touch but recoils as soon as he realizes that it's Dara.

"Shit, sorry." He distances himself from her, remembering that Yoongi was in the same room, cleaning up.

"What?" she asks quietly, confused as to what she's done wrong. "Nobody's here and he doesn't care." She sees that Yoongi had his back turned to them. She tries to step closer to him again, but he steps back.

"I just didn’t realize you were still here. And…you know, we talked about this," he whispers, sidestepping her to pick up more empty glasses and beer bottles to put in the bin he's carrying around.

He calls out to Yoongi and tells him he can finish up on his own.

Yoongi pauses, looks at Dara, then back at Hobi. "Are you sure? I don't mind."

"Nah. You did plenty tonight, hyung. Go home and rest.” He smiles tightly.

"Alright. You’re the boss," Yoongi responds flatly. He tells Hobi that he will take out the last garbage bag in the back before heading home.

After mouthing his thanks to Yoongi, he turns to Dara. “That goes for you, too." He hopes she takes the hint and leaves him alone with his thoughts. It feels like the longest night of his life–and it was nowhere close to midnight.

Once Yoongi was out of earshot, Dara approaches Hobi again. "It's because she's here, isn't it?"

Hobi is exhausted, confused, and emotional from your intense conversation earlier. His thoughts are all over the place--old feelings, past issues...arguments that he had buried long ago have resurfaced. He wasn't in the mood to deal with Dara; he just wanted her to leave without being cruel to her.

"I'm sorry," he says.

She moves closer to him. "You don't have to apologize, Hoseok. I know...I always knew." Despite spending countless hours together during junior and senior years at the library, she knew he would never see her as more than a friend. But she was still content with whatever kindness and attention he offered.

Although she had repeatedly absolved him of any guilt, Hobi still felt as if he was taking advantage of her situation. Despite his mother's urging to leave their hometown and start somewhere else, he had chosen to stay. It didn’t matter where he went, he would still feel lonely and empty.

"It's nothing against you," he says, setting the plastic bin filled with bottles and glasses down to face her. "I wish, so badly, that I could give you what you want and need. It's not that I don't want to, I..." He shrugs his shoulders, at a loss for words. "...just can't."

She was aware of this, and he knew that she wouldn't love anyone more than her late husband. Hobi was special to her in a different way, but this arrangement was more for convenience, to fulfill a need that they couldn't find elsewhere. Despite his guilt, she had benefitted from this arrangement, too.

"I know," she responds with an achingly warm smile. "I know that when you look at me, you see somebody else.”

A wistful smile forces its way through his face. He couldn’t help but picture your body flush against his, instead of hers. Your scent, instead of hers. Your face.

And not for lack of trying, because he did try--very hard--to forget about you. Each and every time, he failed miserably.

News of your divorce was a shock to him and, truthfully, many other things could happen. He wanted to at least take a chance. Tonight’s kiss may have been impulsive but he felt something there and he knew that you felt it, too.

“I might have a window of opportunity,” he says, still feeling the ghost of your lips on his.

She cocked her head to the side, regarding him. “She’s always been the one, right?”

Hobi is still for a few seconds, but he eventually bobs his head in a nod.

“Then you’ve got to go for it,” she urges him. “And judging by the way she looked at you tonight, I can tell not much has changed for her either."

He chuckles. “I really hope so.”

"I think you know so," she replies before taking off her apron. "I also wanted to let you know that I found a permanent job in the next town over, so I can't hang around as much anymore."

Hobi's shoulders rise. "I wish I could give you a raise," he says regretfully.

She waves it off. "Just give it to Yoongi. Besides, I wanted to come by tonight to pay my respects to the family." She pauses, turning sheepish for a moment before adding, "And I was thinking that we could have a little farewell drink together, but I guess that's off the table now." She jokes.

He laughs in return, relieved that she's taking everything in stride.

As their laughter dies down, she turns serious, her eyes carrying a hint of nostalgia. "I'll never regret the time we spent together. Our conversations, the moments we shared, they were all so special to me, especially during that time when I was still grieving over Junho. You made me believe in love again, even if it was just for that short time. And for that, I'll always be grateful. Thank you for being there as a friend when I needed one the most.”

With a final kiss on his cheek, Dara walks out the door.

It's close to 2AM by the time Hobi finishes locking up then begins his long drive home--which took all but 10 minutes. When he turns the street corner to pull into the driveway, he sees a figure sitting on his front stoop.

Trauma in their backstory, because ofc. When they were young, they fell under the control of another aasimar, Symeon, child of Tyr, who in turn served Michael, who claimed to be the avatar of Sune. Symeon was charming and manipulative, and Sascha, then calling themself Myca, fell pretty quickly under his influence. It wasn't a great time.

Had a sweet romance with Ilias, child of Silvanus. Ilias died during the Spellplague. Myca changed their name to Sascha and. Hardened themself off somewhat.

Present day, a powerful sorcerer/wizard who regularly looks in on places like Blackstaff Academy, using illusion magic to hide their wings and stuff.

Secret! Netherese! Cultist!

Has a fascination with illithid technology. It's so visceral. Why is the damn ship crashing why can't they examine the meat crimes more :-\

Immediately takes charge with their OP charisma. General play vibes are like, pragmatic and not very sentimental, but does try to take care of their coterie.

Mostly fascinated with Gale, another powerful and ambitious mage with a connection to Netherese magic. Definitely encourages him to seek out his sorcerer side (he'll end up multiclassing Storm Sorcery) and, uh, the Crown but also with an eye to maybe? using it themself?

Wary about the Dream Visitor. Does not like having their mind fucked with. On the other hand, very open to using illithid powers, although by the time they get the astral-touched tadpole they're already too negative about the Emperor to agree.

Major decisions, act 1: We are straight-out skipping the druids/tiefling/goblin conflict! (Or, well, AFAIK you can't avoid the fight at the gate, but otherwise they're going to do that, trade with Arron, talk to whatshisname who had the run-in with the githyanki, then go "yeah this isn't my business" and leave.) Won't be recruiting Wyll, Karlach, or Halsin, and the tieflings are fucked, I'm sorry everyone ;_; Might end up entering the Goblin Camp just for more info on this True Soul/Absolute business, but staying steadfastedly Not Involved, then heading on to the Mountain Pass and the creche. Obviously that'll go poorly, although Sascha is still going to be like, yeah, the one in the Prism is shifty, sure, I'll kill them. So that'll put a dampener on any potential relationship!

Act 2: I am… actually not sure how to navigate the Shadow-Cursed Lands here, without getting the lyre from either Minthara or Nere, or attacking the convoy. Hm. Might just have to do a straight shot for Moonrise. AFAIK Minthara can be rescued here and Sascha is just "yeah fine why not". Largely skipping the Last Light, so no Jaheira, and, later, no Minsc, so final team will be Sascha, Gale, Astarion, Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Minthara. Does the Gauntlet for Shadowheart's sake, but will encourage her not to kill their fellow aasimar, so at least someone is getting a good end XD;; Okay they don't seem to like many other aasimar so, uh, sorry Aylin. Otherwise, makes themself at home at Moonrise and wreaks havoc while they're not looking while in the process of Learning Everything. And, uh, the Shadow Curse is not getting lifted, although tbh I think that was a given since I'm pretty sure Halsin dies if you don't get involved with the Grove-Goblin conflict ;_;

Act 3: Learning about the Emperor - they fuckin' knew it -_- When they meet Raphael later, doesn't agree to the deal, but does plan to steal the hammer instead. They want that crown for their bae, okay.

Character arcs: Gale - go for the crown, babe, I'll hold your flower. Shadowheart - she's already turned from Shar, let's just complete the process. Encourages her to let her parents go. Okay maybe she will go Dark Justiciar :| Astarion - …tragically I think they'd encourage Ascension I'm so sorry Astarion bby. Sascha is just, "Get revenge! Fuckin' eat him!" Lae'zel - reject Vlaakith, free Orpheus - although that's in part to spite the Emperor tbh. Don't know what's happening with Minthara, I guess we'll find out!

Endgame: Once they have the stones, have Orpheus turn illithid. Ultimately, destroy the Netherbrain, then encourage Gale to get the crown and become a god. For the epilogue, become a god alongside him. This won't go badly at all!

On the plus side, if I'm doing God!Gale romance here, I might be able to skip one of the several Astarion runs I have planned, and just do the "they actually do make each other better this time" run?

now, i just want to preface that i am not an expert at this stuff by any means, so please just take this with a grain of salt and i will try to help the best i can 🙏

🪐 METHOD RECOMMENDATIONS:

first of all, i'm gonna break it down (mainly for my personal purposes so i feel like i'm being organised with it lmao) but from what you said you find it difficult to concentrate due to having adhd, and you often fall asleep during methods and lose track of time. you also have difficulties with visualisation.

i have a few recommendations for this (because honestly, this is something i can totally relate to so i completely understand 😭)

for some general recommendations, since you notice that you tend to fall asleep often during methods, maybe you could try a sleep method? sleep methods are mostly the same as awake methods except you just fall asleep during or at the end of your method, with the intention to wake up in your desired reality.

since you also find it difficult to concentrate and visualise, maybe using the intention method would work better. the intention method is simply just you setting the intention to shift, then letting go and trusting the process. you could use this as an asleep method and set the intention to wake up in your desired reality, completely trusting yourself and letting go, then you wake up in your desired reality!

however, i believe one of the most important things about using just intention, is having a strong belief in your abilities to shift and confidence in yourself. decide that you WILL shift instead of just 'attempting' or 'trying' or thinking you MIGHT shift. don't view shifting to your desired reality as a possibility, but rather something that you are going to do and something that is going to be your reality (tbh this advice goes well with all methods and shifting 'attempts').

another thing you could look into is the law of assumption and use it for shifting! the law of assumption is a common manifestation technique, but also a law of life regardless of how it's used. the law states that your assumptions and internal states create your reality. therefore, anything that you assume and decide to be true, will reflect in your 3D physical reality. it's all about changing your internal states, assumptions and dominant thoughts to change your reality, as reality reflects your internal state.

so for example, if you assume and persist that "you will wake up in your desired reality," and internally assume this to be true, then it's inevitable for your reality to reflect your assumption. you wake up in your desired reality.

i like using the law of assumption because in it's essence, it's very simple! i just assume that something is to be true, imagine it, let go, don't stress (because i already have it in imagination), and boom! it's my reality.

however, again like the intention method, having a good self-concept, and having confidence in yourself and your abilities goes a long way.

either way, i highly recommend looking into the law of assumption and using it within your shifting journey + your usual methods. it's such a gamechanger!

on the other hand, if you're looking for more specific methods, you could check out the 8D method (also known as the ADHD method). i'm not sure if you've heard of it before but i think it could be something that you're looking for. it incorporates the use of 8D audio (or any audio/music you like) and has little to no visualisation required! here are some links to some posts explaining it with some variations of the method:

🪐 BODY TWITCHES AND SHIFTING 'SYMPTOMS'.

so i'm going to be very truthful and i no way do i want to demotivate you but body twitches aren't really a shifting symptom. rather, many 'shifting symptoms' people think are shifting symptoms, are just signs your physical body is falling asleep and relaxing. shifting doesn't really have any physical symptoms since it is not a physical process. for most people, shifting literally feels like nothing. however, please don't let this demotivate you or anything! i'm sure with every step of the way, you're making great progress so keep going! i just wanted to be honest with you :)

anyways, i hope the rest of your day is well and i hope this helped! please don't be afraid to explore further from my recommendations though because there are plenty more methods out there that could be more suited to your liking! these are just my personal recommendations :) or maybe, you could make up your own method to more suited to your liking and strengths as well!

Sarumi where Fairy Tale Strain casts the Snow White curse on Yata and has him falling into a sleep like death. True Love's Kiss is the only thing that can wake him up. How would this work pre and post reconciliation?

Oh no Yata got hit by the fairytale Strain, if only there was a grumpy prince around to save him 8D Post-betrayal this is probably very awkward, because of course Homra all know who they need to do the kissing but Fushimi would have to get over himself and agree to do it. Imagine Yata even gets hit by the Strain due to Fushimi’s interference somehow, like Homra’s been trying to find this guy for a while because he’s working for some rival gang. Fushimi is also hunting the Strain for S4 reasons but as soon as he sees Yata he immediately abandons his work because teasing Misaki is more fun. They’re about to fight when Yata suddenly yells ‘Saruhiko!’ and jumps in front of him, getting hit by the Strain power. In the aftermath Fushimi yells at Yata because he wasn’t asking to be protected, only to see that Yata is unconscious beside him. No amount of yelling or shaking will wake him, he appears otherwise unharmed but he’s in a deep sleep.

Fushimi sends Homra a quick anonymous message and hovers in the vicinity until they arrive, not like he’s worried or anything but he figures he should at least make sure Homra gathers up their idiot. When he gets back to S4 he does some research on the Strain only because it’s part of his job and finds out that the Strain has ‘fairy tale’ powers and anyone hit by them will fall into a deep sleep, only able to be awakened by true love’s kiss. Fushimi clicks his tongue like ‘stupid,’ probably thinking that what Misaki will want is for Mikoto to kiss him or something. He’s aware that Yata hasn’t woken up as the days go on though, just through rumors, and he keeps telling himself that it’s none of his business. 

Imagine at some point though maybe Anna stops in to see him, like he runs into her and Totsuka in the stables again. Fushimi is all annoyed thinking they’re here to see Basashi but Anna shakes her head and asks Fushimi to come see Misaki. Fushimi scoffs all why would I want to see him, Totsuka laughs and says well we had some ideas on what might wake him up and Anna thought we should stop by. Fushimi refuses to even entertain that, flatly stating he has no idea what they’re talking about, even as Anna tells him Yata’s in hospital and gives him the room number. Fushimi doesn’t intend to do anything with this information — it has nothing to do with him, nothing at all — but maybe he ends up slipping into the room quietly anyway, pressing his lips against Yata’s. He leaves before Yata can move, because Fushimi doesn’t want to know if that’s what really will wake Yata up (he hears later on that yes, Misaki is awake, and tells himself the power just wore off naturally, that’s all).

Post-reconciliation I imagine him being hesitant for an entirely different reason. Like same scenario with Yata getting hit by the Strain and finding out about the ‘true love’s kiss’ thing, imagine Fushimi giving this information to Kusanagi at the bar and literally everyone just looks at him. Fushimi clicks his tongue and mutters why are you all looking at me, saying he’ll do more research to find another way because of course virgin Misaki doesn’t even have a girlfriend. Kusanagi gives him a soft smile as he’s like well I don’t know if you need more research, you might have the answer already, Fushimi clicks his tongue again and says he’ll be in touch, once he’s gone Kusanagi sighs a little and shakes his head like really these two.

Fushimi goes to visit Yata at the hospital and imagine him there alone, leaning over Yata and wondering. He calls Yata an idiot for getting hurt now, right when they reconciled again and weren’t you the one who wanted this the most and now you’re just lying there. Of course part of Fushimi desperately wants to kiss Yata but at the same time he keeps thinking well what if it doesn’t work, what if I’m not what he wants — after all Fushimi’s done how could he of all people possibly be Yata’s’true love.’ He just wants Yata to open his eyes again though and finally Fushimi just leans in and gives Yata a kiss. There’s a moment’s pause and Fushimi grimly thinks ‘what did I expect’…and then Yata’s suddenly kissing him back.

*note the exotic is only the upper gauntlet of the dominant arms prosthetic, the rest is simply her being picky and wanting it to match because shes not tacky like her shell less meatbag companion's who seem to lose their sense in style every begining of a new season. Lol

Her field outfit is called the Luna shadow set! Originally sported leaves in place ofnthe fur but she lives with guardians who swear by the fur so terra seized it and put fur on it lol.

Relevant info for this character : 

Rescued from captivity on Nessus where she and her ketch were forced to undergo gruesome experimentations and simulations at the hands of the Vex, she a few the survivors of her ketch where eventually rescued by a fireteam or patroling guardians, unfortunately do to their long term captivity these traumatized eliksni had little knowledge of the alliance between the last city and the house of light.

This is resulted in their attempted rescue becoming alot more brutal then intended, luckily there were no casualties and the survivors were eventually transported to the last city…kicking and screeching.

While rehabilitation took some time, Axi is now stationed with her own fireteam of odd light zombies.

whilst her dominant left arm does not regrow (it was damaged too serverly, her recessive arm grows unstablly, permanently defective, and often needs to be docked bt her fireteam to prevent ingrowing, and other issues, its why she can be drawn with a stump or prosthetics. 

all in which she changes compulsively.

working on a causual outfit, face masks are a thing but not in the last city as Elksni have integrated in to the point where internal either apparatuses can be utilized for lighter more comfortable either absorption.

Thats not saying their still isn't bad blood between the two races, there definitly is and sadly Terra has knocked sevral guardians heads off who were a little too mouthy about having a eliksni on their fireteam.

Issues do arise when she is reluctant/scared to dock the malignant limb, it often ingrows/ becomes infected, and must be removed dispite her reluctance.

Situtations like this fall on Libra-8 the firearm's lead Titan to handle, and by that i mean if libra says you need to loose an arm your not leaving the room with the same amount of limbs. He will make sure of that.

Axo has learned this the hard way.

You’ve noticed that while in the garden, your friend FINNY is very careful when it comes to the creatures who stop in for a moment.

You’re not sure where it comes from; a distant memory of something that happened a long time ago, or just from an inherent gentleness toward the whole world. (He seems to have that in spades, really. You’re not sure he has a mean bone in his body.)

Often when a bird lands on his shoulder, he carefully takes it, and moves it to rest on yours. He seems to like watching you that way, possibly because he knows that he has work to do. Your only job is to assist him, and if he doesn’t need any assistance at the moment, or if the two of you are taking a break, he appears charmed by looking at you with the birds.

You’re both resting at the moment, having been working quite hard for most of the morning. At least, for as long as you’ve been out here.

Predictably, Finny has put a couple of birds on your shoulders as well as your head. He’s just relaxing and watching you with them, though he does have one perched happily on his head as well.

After a moment of listening to them chirp, you let the humming you’ve been doing all morning blossom into singing.

As you sing, you reach to pet one of the birds on your shoulder with just your first finger. Despite not being pets, these creatures are pretty docile and receptive to touch. Maybe that’s why they like Finny, you think… they can tell he’s desperate to touch and be touched.

Sometimes, you wonder, with that incredible strength of his, if he’s just afraid of himself. It would be sad if he didn’t trust himself to be delicate with things. He always takes great care if he thinks he could hurt someone or something. (Even if there might be, well, accidents occasionally.)

“Oh, that’s so pretty!” Finny exclaims, and you can’t help but look over at him. Did you even realize he was listening? “What a language… it flows like a little stream in the woods! That song you’re singing, what is it about?”

You chuckle as the bird you were petting hops down to land on your wrist. “Well, it’s about a lot of things, I suppose? It’s about… a person who has a garden in their backyard, and there’s an apple tree. And they spend a lot of time there, whilst they fall in love with this young man who’s sweet on them. And they’re scared at first, because the feelings are so intense… but while they’re sitting on that branch of the apple tree with him, they decide they’d rather take the risk than miss out on love with him.”

Oh, that look on his face. He’s such a hopeless romantic, you almost feel sorry that the two of you don’t have feelings for each other. “That’s so beautiful…” He looks back in the direction of the trees toward the back of the manor’s exterior. “To fall for someone in an’ around an apple tree… God, I’d give anythin’ to have a love story like that.”

Somehow, you think he can also understand being afraid of the depth of a feeling. His strength is so vast, you believe there would be something wrong with him if he wasn’t frightened of it on occasion.

“I think you will someday.” You reach your wrist out, and when Finny leans forward, the bird jumps into his hands. “The right person will come along for you, just like they will for me. In the meantime, we have each other for a friend and the song to keep our dreams in sight. Shall I keep singing, then?”

He nods eagerly. Contrary to what he usually does, he keeps the little bird in his hands. His fingers stroke its head as if he’s trying to barely touch it.

You smile, and lean back. You’ll have to get back to work soon, but what’s the hurry?

@x-rainflame-x is one of my absolute favorite FMA fic writers. (It's been a couple years since she's written any, and to my own embarrassment I haven't tried out any of her more recent Trigun fics, but I'm sure they're just as good! ^^') Stairway to Paradise remains one of my favorite FMA fics. Parental!RoyEd hurt/comfort? Torture? PTSD? Roy getting to show his softer side, but then also sending the bad guys packing? YES PLEASE. And then on the other end of the spectrum, she can also be hilarious, as seen in Silver Bullet, in which Ed becomes convinced Roy Mustang is a werewolf XD

Well, I've already answered this one and said my favorite is prompt challenges. But one I've always wanted to do yet never had the chance is a Big Bang. Getting to write a big long chapterfic and be assigned someone to make fanart of it? 8D Sounds like a dream come true! And I've read some truly phenomenal fics that have come out of that sort of thing.

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

I've been saying this for years, but I wish more fic writers paid attention to how Alphonse Elric never calls Ed by name. I know most of the blame probably falls on the English dub, where he does say his name from time to time, but in the Japanese he only ever calls him "nii-san." Part of that is cultural, I know, but he never even says "Ed o-nii-san" or something like that, which I would understand translating as simply "Ed."

Oftentimes, I feel like I'm the only one who thinks this is a small but vital piece of Al's characterization. It tells you something about him - if you ask me, it says that Ed being his brother is almost more integral to his identity than his own name. And I wish more people would talk about that.

I had vacation and tooth surgery and thus a lot of time to be lazy! <3 A chunk of it I spent listening to the narrations of some creepypasta series. Though, honestly, I'm not sure they can be called that? They're more episodic paranormal stories. Yes, there's monsters running around and dangerous, maybe scary stuff going on, but they're also incredibly wholesome and soo sweet and very queer! So if you're into that, go look for the stories written by @02321 on r/nosleep and Youtube! My Name's Skyler, I'm a Freelance P.I. narrated by Baron Landred (the title on r/nosleep is I Work as a P.I and a Government Agent approached me to help with a case) and I Deliver Mail to Cryptids narrated by Animas. (And also a bunch of stories more set in the same universe of the Silver King.)

Now back to our regular books! We have 4 princes, 2 kings and 1 queen this month!

Banshee Blues (Nina Blazon): I'm in the editing process of my latest novel, which I'm writing in German, so I felt I should read a German, non-translated book for once. This was the only one in my pile but it is from my favourite German author, so all was well. I have a lot to thank her for. The first novel read from her was Der Dunkle Kuss der Sterne (The Stars' Dark Kiss) and that was the first time I liked first-person viewpoint! Her next book had split POV and different tenses and I had to admit it was done well. Banshee Blues was not quite up to par with her previous works but it went a few new directions than usual which was nice as well. It tried very hard to lead you astray with what's going on and who is evil and who isn't. And while I liked how things turned out between the two leads it would have been monumental to have them stay platonic.

The Fallen King's Penitent Soldier (Tales of the High Court 5) (Megan Derr): Sigh, it's been a ride. I had a good time with the whole series. I love the worldbuilding, really. But it is alright to end it here, while it's still good, you know. In a way, these five stories are all built very similar: Being kidnapped by bad guys, running from the bad guys or running after the bad guys for the first half and afterwards waiting to let other people sort it out. There's probably a limited amount of iterations you can go through while still be interesting. But for these five volumes it was fun! As for book 5 by itself, I think it's a good thing it comes so late in the series. Because it really takes its time. There's a lot introspection going on for the two protagonists which is okay because they go through a lot but it's also very long and sometimes not much else happens. I liked the two of them, I liked how religion was handled, I liked how it went full circle back to Allen's story. I liked the series. Good times. :)

Prince & Knight (Daniel Haack & Stevie Lewis): I wanted this for the pretty pictures. But apparently the universe didn't want me to? I ordered this last year already, but the package went on an odyssee through several cities without ever arriving at my home. I ordered it again this year and … the same thing happened?! 8D The odyssee was shorter this time, mind you, but … why again?! I tried a third time and ordered it for pick up at a local bookstore and that finally worked. Geez! It's a children's picture book so the story is as basic as it goes. Is it goo for children? I wouldn't know. The dragon doesn't die and it's very sweet and very pretty.

In all seinen Farben (Boy Queen) (George Lester): I had some exhausting weeks at work and thought I could use something inspirational. Something about finding your own way and shine. Which happens in this book but there's also a lot of drama going on and I was not prepared for the rock-bottom-hit in the beginning. xD I mean, it was written in the blurb but I've owned the book for a year why should I reread the blurb … I know nothing about drag or make-up or anything in that direction (I did watch like 15 minutes of the drag show at Comic Con Stuttgart last year but that hardly counts), so it was charming and interesting to read about.

We Could Be so Good (Cat Sebastian): I have to apologise to everyone on the waitlist for this at my library because I could have read it faster but … once I realised what sort of direction the 70% drama might take I had a tough time reading on. They were so happy and it was nice and I just did not want to suffer! I did assume, since the book goes out of its way to address how all queer books published during the mid of the last century would have to end badly (and the protagonist outright refusing to read them therefore), it would probably take a turn for a happy ending. That was the only hope that kept me going. If I had known any of the author's other work I maybe wouldn't have worried so much, because it's written in her bio already that she'll only write happy endings?! Well … So for anyone else fearing the drama of a book set in 1959: No queer person was harmed in this book! (Nothing major anyway.) I like the book, though! Enjoyed reading it. Nick and Andy are both sweet. But that fear did something to me, took me a while to recover. :'D

Prince & Assasssin (Perilous Courts 1) (Tavia Lark): I needed something simple for my fragile heart and it seems gay fantasy is my comfort read now in the same way my mom reads stuff named like "The Little Bakery at XYZ Street". And what should I tell you, yeah, there're men who are tenderly and not so tenderly intimate with each other, yeah yeah, but there's also giant talking cats! Giant talking cats! Also, I really like the author's writing style. It's so smooth! I started reading and didn't want to put it down anymore because it read so smoothly! The book itself was so much better than I had expected (which was basically nothing). It won't blow you off your feet but it's pretty enjoyable and surprisingly wholesome. Also the worldbuilding felt just right. I'm looking forward to reading the next volumes soon!

King of Immortal Tithe (Darkmourn 2) (Ben Alderson): Did I buy the expensive hardcover just because I like the illustration more than the one of the paperback? Why hello, that's me. So this is the second fae book I read this year. It's apparently a universal truth now that fae men are the most beautiful and well endowed beings on earth and beyond. Not that I mind, you do you, but why does fae anatomy work the same as humans' actually? Anyway, this is a stand-alone in a series of stories all set within the same universe. I like that concept. Hunting for pieces of lore is fun. Arlo is a feisty character so following him was enjoyable. The switch from enemy to lovers was kinda sudden like … I can see why but personally it still felt sudden. Also Faenir calling Arlo constantly Darling was not my taste but you know, if it's just that, I can overlook it. The twist at the end had me barking out evil laughter (which means approval). I did hold back reading the final chapter until I read the first volume as not to spoil any more! (While they are stand-alones the previous story is referenced in this one.)

Lord of Eternal Night (Darkmourn 1) (Ben Alderson): "He was so tall and his hands were so large and his length was so great and so thick my fingers couldn't touch reaching around it. He was not just a man, he was a god!" I laughed. That's not a literal quote, but a good summary. Yeah. I laughed. And while praising one guy he was also dissing his former lover, the baker's son, for not being as large. Not the poor lad's fault, no need to get mean! Should have known at that point already who was the true evil mastermind. :'P. But in all fairness, there is a little more going on in the story. And well, these books know very well what kind of fantasy they're catering. There's a short guy, a little crafty and feisty, not too weak, and the very tall, very beautiful guy who everyone says is evil, but turns out he isn't so evil, he just has a tragic past, he also falls very hard for the protagonist and oops, maybe he does have some capacity for evil. I did like how the story subverted who's good and who's bad like three times. Otherwise, it's not really complex. But I'm kinda into the ending.

Alpha of Mortal Flesh (Darkmourn 3) (Ben Alderson): The third installment in the series, they've been getting more elaborate with each volume. So instead of the 2 and 3 half characters we had in the first one, there's actually a whole cast in here with motivations and backstories. That was nice. The writing style, however, is still as … trying as hard as in the beginning. It's not bad, mind you, I commend it for trying to use the full range of the English language, but there's a lot of words, making everything longer than needed, and sometimes their choice is really weird. Example: "My tongue broke free. It slithered from the confines of my mouth." But it's just a normal human tongue licking something eagerly yet still very normally! And, they're indie books, yeah, but I do wish all three books would have gone through another round of editing. The unnecessary repetitions and errors made me suffer a little. And while I got a little bored and impatient at the end I do like the story and what it's trying to do. Just that it was trying too hard in some aspects of the writing and not hard enough in others.

That's it for July! Apparently, August will be library month again. My TBR bookshelf disapproves but duh. Let's go and have fun. :P
