Hello, I was just wondering if you could share more about the kind of training and preparation you did with your girls at home/on shorter walks to get them ready for long hikes. And out of curiosity, what were the traits you looked for in potential breeds/puppies to suit long hikes? 💜
Oof, I wish I had a good and technical system to present here, but the truth is that we live in a rural part of Norway where nothing is flat unless it was dug out and the asphalt cracks so fast the main roads count as mild terrain, so a lot of it just comes with the territory.
From early on I've pretty much just tried to let them learn and grow as naturally as possible and to not limit them too much, and all of our puppies have been active and come on short hikes since they were ~3 months old. Not like heavy, static, structured activity - but little off-trail mountain or forest treks focused on play and exploration. Shaping the dog I want from the start, basically.
Our activity levels fluctuate with the season and weather, so we only do really long hikes in the summer and early autumn. But it's not unusual to spend 3-4hrs going mostly uphill on a regular walk, so doubling that for a hike isn't that big of an ask as long as they're healthy and in good base condition. And once hiking season starts rolling around in June after eight months of snow/sleet/rain, I'm usually in worse shape than my dogs anyway lol. I know my dogs well and we start the season with a few warmup hikes, to see where we're all at.
As far as breeds go, idk. I just tend to like a relatively neutral, balanced build. I'm not personally into very large or heavy dogs. I appreciate a little athleticism. I want less prey drive and more handler orientation. The ideal dog for me is one that maybe doesn't Have To, but Can and Wants To. Over the years I've also learned that I like a little moderation in body and angulation, and I prefer a slightly careful dog over an overconfident one.

In a conversation the topic of childhood comes up and the human part of the Fontaine cast (Wrio, Clorinde, Navia) is hit by 3 consecutive mental sucker punches when Furina, Neuvilllette and Sigewinne all reveal one after another that they have Never Been Children

Accusing people, some of whom incidentally are likely LGBT themselves, of not viewing wol///fstar as canon because they "can't read queer-coding" is the cope of the century and borders on delusional. it's also condescending and disrespectful- why is your personal analysis of a work of fiction more valid than anyone else's, particularly when that analysis is almost certainly driven by confirmation bias? Have you asked yourself whether the "signs" you think you're reading in the text are actually there or whether you just want them to be? It's fine to want them to be and to add two and two and get six, personally I've done that with many works of fiction and I will continue to do so, but objectively there's no evidence that holds up to the slightest bit of scrutiny that jkr actually intended Sirius and Remus to secretly be in love.
Leaving aside the fact for now that this is JKR we're talking about and all that entails, it honestly verges on conspiracy-brained at times. Besides that, using homophobic stereotypes as "evidence" is, to put it plainly, shit. Some of these stereotypes might seem fairly innocuous yet still manage to be offensive (e.g. "tonks is queer-coded because she has short hair/is cool/has this personality trait or physical characteristic) but others honestly cross a line. Think for a moment about the logical leap you're making when you claim that werewolves being an allegory for stigmatised illnesses like AIDS is proof that R is gay. What equivalence is being drawn here? worth thinking about
I just want to say this is a work of children's literature and we're all free to interpret whatever we want and make up whatever silly things that we want with it. But you're not smarter or more special than anyone else because you think there's a gay way to look or speak or act, or for seriously believing that JKR created some kind of mad convoluted mental backflip conspiracy to specifically fuck with what was at the time a fringe element of online fandom that she likely wasn't even aware of. Apply Occam's razor here and go with the simplest explanation, which is that JKR, a heterosexual woman, wrote a children's book in the 90s with a majority heterosexual pairings and one token gay character. From there, do whatever you want. The end

Even though he falls into the old “We have to make our civil rights leader villain kick puppies so he doesn’t seem too sympathetic” cliche, I do think they’ve created a really interesting situation with Ramattra wrt the whole concept of his creation. Like, he wasn’t created by humans like most other omnics. He was created by the hands of a God AI that he can’t communicate with anymore. He can’t ask why it truly made him. He can’t ask what he should do now that he has a choice. All he knows is that the force that created him believed wholeheartedly that the world would be better off without human beings in it. And he’s seen very little to prove otherwise.
Also, the repeated implications that Ramattra seems like he isn’t sure he wants to keep living - the way he says he wishes he could meet Aurora to ask her why she gave him sentience. The surprise from Sojourn that he’s showing his face openly, because that makes him so much easier to kill. The comments the characters make about the robots he sends having a reckless, suicidal fighting style, and how that “may reflect the feelings of their creator”.
It’s very dark, particularly for Overwatch, and tremendously tragic. This isn’t some mastermind trying to further their own philosophies, like Doomfist or Moira. This is a being in extreme pain and distress, who feels like he’s capable of contributing nothing to this world but violence - towards both others and himself.

I'd like to imagine that Danny finds John Constantine absolutely delightful and Constantine is just like "dang it it's this worm-off-the-string dude again :/"
Danny's all "wowow it's the cool magic man who found a loophole for immortality! He has a cool magic house too"
And Connie is just "does it LOOK like I'm running a daycare?? Go home"
I also want Vlad to be enamored with him and Ellie is just like "yea that's my wet cat of a father figure. Neat"

Hi, sorry if this seems like a bizarre request, but I feel it would suit him.
Zane seems like he'd be a dancer, and I'd like to see your design of him dancing (it can be as uncomplicated or as complex as you please)! And if you'd like, you could include another Ninja (or as many as you'd like)! It's all up to you; I would like to see him as a dancer! :D
So this ask was from two years ago and I completely forgot it existed but I absolutely loved this idea so here's zane and pixal doing the lindy hop!

One time I suggested watching Dan and Phil Games to someone because I genuinely thought they would like it and they told me they wouldn't ever watch dnpg because they don't want to be "one of those gays."
The blatant homophobia in that sentence??? And that was clearly a jab at me?? Ugh.
Pls just let me live my life, thanks xxx
