AU with bio dad all might where Inko dies during child birth and because of how busy he is in hunting down AFO, along with the safety concerns. All Might gives temporary custody of Izuku to Gran.

1- Toshinori is crushed. He might have been able to suggest Inko take Izuku and hide, but he can't stand to send their baby away alone with nothing, no way of knowing if it's actually safer, nada. Gran thought he might, but when he enters the room and sees how Toshinori is holding the newborn, he knows he won't. Toshinori kisses Izuku's forehead and says he's going to be staying with his grandfather for a bit, but his dad will be back as soon as he can.

2- Toshinori doesn't visit. He didn't go to Gran's house before, not since the day after graduation when he left for the airport, and he won't do it now that AfO could be watching. But he does call. Izuku knows the sound of his father's voice over the phone, knows Gran calls him 'Toshinori', knows there is something he has to do before he can return. When he's little, he imagines a hero, then an astronaut, then a vigilante, then an important businessman, then a researcher. His dad doesn't talk much about his job, always sounds so tired by it, always so eager to hear about his days instead, or maybe tell him about his mom.

3- After the potato smashing, Gran leaves Izuku in the care of a neighbor (she delivers groceries when he's too tired to walk and get some, and her son's a hero Izuku adores, he'll be safe with both of them for a couple hours) and goes to the hospital as Sir and Toshi argue about retirement. He reminds Toshinori that the custody was supposed to be temporary. Sir asks what he's talking about and gets kicked out of the ward. "You weren't arguing back about it as strongly as I thought you would. You lose your stubbornness too?" Gran asks. Toshi sighs, leans his head against the wall, and admits that he wants so badly to go to Gran's, grab Izuku, and vanish for a decade, make up for lost time. But he can't give up on saving people. But he wants so badly to have his family, its all that's been pushing him through years of twenty hour workdays. But people could die, would die, if he did that.

Gran hums, and says Izuku'll be so thrilled to finally see his dad in person. Almost as excited as he'll be to find out his dad is All Might.

Then he hands Toshinori two tickets to I-island, and leaves for his own vacation. (being a single parent is hard)

4- Toshi meets Izuku, and explains on the plane who he is and why he was gone for years- a very brief overview of it, anyway. Izuku keeps pinching himself. Toshi cries in David's arms for a while. Izuku and Melissa hit it off. Izuku asks if he can be a quirkless hero, and Toshi, getting David's pointed looks, says maybe, but he'll have to practice a lot. It really is like a dream, and when its time to go back, Izuku almost asks if they can stay- instead he says 'come back' and Toshi agrees they'll visit, wonders if Izuku will want to attend the academy there for high school, but Izuku wants to be a hero. On their return, Toshi, Gran, and Izuku have to resettle awkwardly around each other, but manage. Toshi brought back support equipment Dave made him, similar to what helped him in college manage his power. He cuts back on hours too, and the HPSC assumes its all because of his injuries.

5- While the rule has been changed to allow it for a couple of years, Izuku is the first quirkless student admitted to the UA Hero Course. No one else from his middle school got in, so its all alone and making new friends, but he manages. He's exited. His dad and grandpa are exited.

Then, during lunch a few days into the school year, Izuku gets a call. It's weird in the middle of the day, but he picks up- "Hey dad, what's up?"

It is not his father's voice that responds. "Huh, 'dad'?"

Izuku freezes, unsure who this scratchy, younger voice could be. Uraraka asks him if he's ok. He hangs up, breathing faster, and calls Gran. - "Someone got dad's phone and i answered and-" / "Hold on kid, let me see if he just forgot it at his desk and- shit there's been a break in at the tower. Izuku, go to Nedzu's office right now and stay there. One of us will call him, don't answer your phone to anyone. Go."

5 headcanons game: DFO AU where Izuku is a Yakuza boss and anonymously makes deals with AFO

Aaaaaaaaaaand we get another AU where Inko is Pops' adopted daughter.

1.A - So, before Pop's bio daughter left, Chisaki was itching to get more power in the organization. He had plans. He had ideas. But Pops, who has been around long enough, laughs in his face when he starts saying he has plans to destroy the top 5 villains in order to ressurect the yakuza. So the plan was to put Pops in a coma, proves that Chisaki was right, then wakes Pops up so he could see it.

1.B - Chisaki gets his quirk stolen exactly two days later.

1.C - This is pandemonium for the yakuza. Their leader is in a coma. Their leader-in-second is quirkless and having a mental breakdown. Every two-bits villain us hunting them down for sport now that they are weakened. Even the boss' daughter just left! And left her daughter behind, claiming that little Eri had killed her dad even though everyone in the neighborhood knows that Eri's dad has been trying to leave the mafia princess for years but was too scared of what the yakuza would do to him if he did.

2.A - Desperate, they go towards the one who left the nest and never look back. Inko is NOT happy to see twenty yakuza invading her tiny apartment. Her husband knows nothing about her past life! (She conveniently forgets the massive tattoos hidden under her cardigans every time she claims that.) She is just a normal housewife! (Please, pay no mind to the metal needles hidden all over the house.) They must leave now before her son comes back from school! (Izuku has been here for the past ten minutes but can't get home because a bunch of yakuza are blocking the way.)

2.B - "HELP US!" the yakuza cry. "NO!" Inko screams back. "Why don't you do [many illegal stuff a middle student should not know]? Hypothetically speaking.

2.C - Long story short, Izuku started helping the yakuza because he is good at it. "I am leading them away from a criminal life!" he claims. "And yes, sometimes, they break people's legs but only when the others started it!"

3 - You have to understand that Izuku's school life is not great, his mom is worried about him because of the whole quirkless thing and he runs away from his problems by 100% investing himself in the yakuza thing. They have an important job in the ecosystem! They might be assholes but they give stability to areas where heroes don't patrol! It has two, in my opinion, consequences: A. Chisaki is working for Izuku and hating every second of it. B. Izuku keeps getting money by blocking some of AFO's activities.

4 - AFO is losing his mind. He knows that the yakuza have a new boss who is devilishly good at their job but he can't find who? He fought this was Pops but the guy is in a coma?(He checked.) Then, he thought becoming quirkless had made Chisaki smarter? (It didn't.) Every time he is close from finding the thorn in his side, they disappear! It's even worse than tracking an OFA holder!

5 - This is an AU where Chisaki slightly gets his head out of his ass. When he sees Eri and realizes the other morons are the only thing between the toddler and a certain death, he more or less adopts her. He doesn't even like the idea of being a dad but someone made a comment about him not being good at it (Izuku, it was Izuku), so now, he must prove them wrong.

+ 1 - AFO almost manage to grab the secret yakuza boss but not only does the little shot bites him before he escapes but he somehow manages to steal a quirk from him.

+ 2 - Izuku now has Overhaul. Chisaki is furious.

+ 3 - Izuku is terrible at using Overhaul. (Great at destroying stuff, not even passably good at putting them back together.) Chisaki must teach him how to use the quirk. He is even more furious.

+ 4 - A blond skeleton passes out in the neighborhood and wakes up in a house full of yakuza. He is promptly adopted, even by the little one? Which he then learns is their boss? He kinda wants to explain this is a misunderstanding but he is invited to the Sunday cook-outs and he can hang out with them and it's kinda nice?

Another addition to the dfohiko verse! Alright then,

Similar set-up to previous dfohiko branches. Toshinori spends a few years in the States. He returns to Japan when he’s in his mid-to-late 20s, and with Sorahiko’s info, and makes excellent headway in dismantling AfO’s network at the expense of exposing his identity to AfO. AfO is displeased with his son’s decision to reject the ‘good’ family legacy, complains to his followers about red-blooded, hot-tempered youths, and receives the following tentative question: Does Toshinori have a significant other? A boyfriend? A girlfriend? A partner in general?

AfO, who romanced and married and had a child with Sorahiko by Toshinori’s current age: omg you’re so right. He just needs to redirect his passions elsewhere, and then he’ll realize what a terrible world this is to raise a child. Who among you have weddable progeny? To clarify, I want you all to know that this WILL lead me to be that child’s father in-law, and I WILL be taking all grandparent rights.

The thing is, it’s not enough to just fling sexy singles in the area into Toshinori’s path. Toshinori is, worryingly, taking after Sorahiko’s practice of abstinence and just not going on any of the dates that AfO is setting up. So AfO hops over to Sorahiko’s place to complain about their son’s destructive habits, and the lack of grandchildren being brought into the world. The unexpected turn of conversation tricks Sorahiko into thinking, ‘Oh, shit, I’ve accidentally taught my son that love is a nightmare and marriage is a deal with the devil.’

By the time Toshinori entered his late thirties, he’s obliviously rejected any and every potential spouse that AfO AND Sorahiko have set before him. His parents are in despair, though for different reasons. Then. THEN. On a rare evening of freedom, Toshinori spies a despondent young woman sitting alone at a table, holding a book with a red rose’s stem tucked inside like a marker. People are side-eyeing her. He hesitates, but takes the plunge, politely asking Inko if he can sit opposite of her while grabbing his dinner. She’s grateful, but equally wary.

They order dinner, and drinks, and in the meantime, conversation happens. A tentative spark of connection happens. One dinner turns into another, and another. Toshinori nervously confesses to Inko that he has no model for a happy marriage, but he knows what good partners do for each other. He remembers that much, at least. And Inko promises that whatever family they’ve left behind, the one they’ll make will be better. 

+1 Izuku is born; Sorahiko learns about his grandson when Izuku manifests the tell-tale AfO hand holes at age four, and a panicked Toshinori calls for advice; AfO learns four years after that, when he crashes All Might’s Bring Your Child to Work Day.

I just thought a fic idea.

After the USJ Nezu decides he need a pair of fresh eyes, someone who will help him weed out the traitor, and someone to fill that vacant vice-principal job. His choice?

Inko Midoriya.

Okay so hear me out: In my AUs, I make it that Inko is a nurse. So how about instead of something she's not quite qualified for like VP, she's hired as Recovery Girl's assistant/eventual replacement?

She would still have the job of finding the Traitor, but being the school nurse would give her more time with the Hero Students. We don't even get that much of her 'weeding out the traitor' she's just helping fix problems.

Izuku is dying a little because ofc Inko has to be an embarrassing mom but she does pull it back most of the time.

Katsuki speedruns the redemption and therapy because Inko can see what's going on directly instead of just Izuku lying about it

Inko does not fear the reaper so she hears about Shoto's nonsense and then goes to yell at Endeavor first chance she gets. (somehow this actually works)

Everyone looks at the situation and is like "Izuku I know you say All Might isn't your bio dad but I think he's about to be your stepdad???"

Inko, being a nurse, looks at Denki zapping himself and is like 'you stop that right now!!!'

Bonus Points:

She shows up to Nezu's office in the middle of him and All Might discussing the bigger plot things. It was just something normal to update the principle on, but she sees an open file on the desk and pauses looking at a picture.

Inko, pointing at the photo: "That man there. Do you know how to contact him?"

All Might, confused: "Unfortunately if we could find him, we'd have solved a few problems by now."

Nezu, catching on: "Why, do you know him?"

Inko, slightly embarrassed: "Not exactly. Only met him the once. But even if he's some criminal, I think he still deserves to know he has a son now."

All Might and Nezu: *record scratch noise as they stare at AfO's file photo*

DC/BNHA AU where Inko gets a knock at her door open day and opens it to find Bruce Wayne outside of it. She’s shocked and even more so when he asks to come in and reveals that her husband Hisashi had been part of a group called the Leauge of Assasins. That he’d stolen Bruce Wayne’s DNA and used it to impregnate Inko in order to have the perfect heir for their leader, Ra’s due to Inko’s keen intelligence and her low chance of passing on a Quirk. Plus Inko is also distantly related to Ra’s. Combine it with Bruce’s Quirklessness Izuku mimicked his bio father.

It’s a shock for Inko but she’s ready to back her baby up. More so when Bruce reveals he is in fact Batman, the former vigilante now licensed Pro-Hero based out of Gotham. He keeps his identity secret for various reasons: one being his Quirkless status.

Izuku I’m thinking is right right now and upon learning his bio dad is a Quirkless hero is just fucking thrilled. He doesn’t want to leave Japan because it’s his home and he doesn’t want to leave Inko but he’s happy to actually have a good dad.

Bruce is more then willing to help train his son to take on UA and the hero course, and Inko is much more willing to let it happen after realizing there are Quirkless heroes going toe to toe with aliens and all of Gotham’s villains.

More so when Izuku’s siblings come crashing in, all Quirkless themselves. It’s a real party.

Notes:

-Instead of Metahuman it’s Quirks now.

-Quirks are still in the majority of people but in places like America it’s also common to meet Quirkless people to.

-People randomly gaining powers is a thing. It’s not Quirks but not-not.

-Clark Kent is publicly known as Superman and has been since he was twenty-five after the Justice League formed. Everyone knows he’s an alien to. He is not a reporter and instead a pro-hero.

-All of the BatClan live double lives.

-Except Jason who has remained legally dead.

-Tim recognizes the same intelligence he possesses in Izuku’s eyes and runs another DNA test. Turns out Bruce got half info- Izuku is also Tim’s kid somehow.

-Everyone is grossed out.

-Tim and his husband Bernard move to Japan for a few years as Tim can train Izuku’s mind easier there.

-Damian has gotten a lot better since he was a kid but at age 20 is still struggling a lot so he typically makes sure to avoid Izuku for a bit. It’s explained why. Izuku compares it to Bakugou.

-No one is happy to hear about how the school treats Izuku. He’s sent to a fancy school now thanks to his dad. He meets Iida.

-Iida and Izuku are besties instantly. The school system Bakugou is in is destroyed and he’s sent to therapy.

-Bruce is either with Selina or single cause I love BatCat but also: Bruce/Inko.

-Jason is with Roy Harper and Kori.

-Dick is married to Barbara.

-Cass is single.

-Damian is aro/ace publicly.

-Duke is engaged to someone. I can’t remember if it’s canon he has a GF or not.

-TimBer is together but also I may have it be TimBerKon.

If the ask game is referring to you: may I ask for 5+ headcannons on an au with a a non bio dfo? Either like a step-dad or a mentor figure in Izukus life.

The Sludge Villain never got away. Instead, Izuku is left wandering with absolutely crushed dreams. He throws his notebook away and wanders aimlessly before going home.

For the next few days Izuku moves on autopilot, barely caring about anything. Then he comes home to find his house burned down. His mother was killed in the fire. No Heroes saved her. Izuku is destroyed.

He tries to take Bakugo's advice, but is approached by a "kind stranger". This stranger found Izuku's notebook and has been fascinated with his ideas. He accurately deduces what Izuku's life has been like, the loneliness the bullying etc. He tells Izuku he's actually brilliant, better than any of his peers, that all of the world are idiots. When Izuku asks who he is, the man introduces himself as "Sensei."

Sensei teaches Izuku many deeper insights about quirk analysis, as well as many aspects of the criminal underworld. He tells him how many villains are innocent victims of the Heroes, who are the true villains. He informs Izuku that All Might was quirkless, showing how arrogant the man was, and how his bigotry is worse than the rest of the world's. The perfect encapsulation of all that's wrong with the world. He brings Izuku on his mission to tear this evil world down.

As you can guess, Sensei is completely full of garbage. AFO is using a brilliant mixture of lies and truth, all while fanning Izuku's resentment and flattering his self esteem to manipulate him into becoming a loyal lieutenant while his psyche is still fragile. Izuku only begins to cotton on when AFO mentions something of his personal life Izuku had not mentioned yet, indicating AFO was watching him before the fire happened.

Izuku does some digging, and soon deduces the truth. AFO jammed the 911 server so the Heroes wouldn't respond to the fire. He deliberately started the fire after finding the notebook so Izuku would have nothing, making him easy to mold. Izuku then begins questioning everything AFO has taught him, especially with AM.

He soon realizes that while society has plenty of flaws, there is plenty worth preserving and that simply burning it down won't fix it or create a good world. It'll simply create anarchy, a cure worse than the disease. Also while some villains are victims, plenty of others made their own choices. He comes to a more full vision of the world than the HPSC or AFO would want him to have.

Izuku then resolves to help fix Hero Society as a vigilante. But first, he has to learn more from AFO so he can put his smarts to good use...by killing AFO. The ultimate way for the student to surpass the teacher.

Btbd au imagine if shishida from 1b and hound dog are actually werewolves or at least half werewolves. So both of them and izuku have supernatural meetings to discuss things mortals wouldn't understand. Also shoto theorizing that vlad king is Izuku's bio dad.

Not sure if I'm gonna have all magical creatures in this au or not. But it would be very VERY rare.

Like if I did I can see Shishida and Hound Dog having werewolf ancestors but not enough to make a major difference.

And Shoto absolutely has a theory that Vlad King is Izuku's father and that he can't be in 1-B because Vlad would be too biased.

Izuku was still attacked at random, but the villain recognized him and, not wanting to make All Might even angrier, let him go to find a different ‘disguise.’ All Might then appeared and shifted focus to getting his potentially injured son to safety instead of finding the villain, much to Izuku’s horror. The sludge was the worst thing he’d ever experienced up to that point, and the thought of someone else being subject to that was too much to bare. All Might flew him away, intending to take him home and out of danger, but he ran out of power. Izuku got upset he waited his last bit of strength moving him when he was fine and he could have been catching the villain. All Might argued that another hero would pick up where he left off. But on their walk home, Izuku heard Bakugou’s explosions and ran out from under his dad’s supervision. From there, events played out more or less like canon, with the exception of the one for all talk. All Might did tell him he was proud of him for moving when no one else would, and Izuku did cry from happiness, but on the way home, he couldn’t stop crying. That encounter just proved what everyone in his class said: you need a quirk to be a hero. No amount of stupid bravery would change that. In short, he gave up. He went straight to his room when they got home and didn’t come out the rest of the night. So while he was in there, All Might talked to Inko about potentially giving him One for All.

Would he be Midoriya Shouta in this au bcause no bio dad, or would he still have changed it to Aizawa, some random or distant relative name, so he could plausibly claim That Hero Isn't Me, What Are You Talking About/not bring attention to them?

You know how Izuku has two identities, and everyone at his school and internship know him as "Akatani Mikumo" instead of Midoriya Izuku? Shouta did the same thing. Eraserhead is Aizawa Shouta, that's the name on his paycheck from UA. Midoriya Shouta is the name on his lease probably

If I'm not too late: AU where for some reason Izuku grows up with the impression that all might is his father. I'm kind of thinking of the one scene in HIMYM where Barney asks his mom who his dad was and she offhandedly gestured to the Wheel of Fortune host on tv.

1 - Every family have their own circumstances and Inko preferred to be a single mother than to let a one-nigh-stand become the father of her child or even worse, her husband. It works out pretty well for her, she has a career as a lawyer, and Izuku and her are doing pretty well. The problem, so to speak, is that when Izuku was old enough to ask about his dad, Inko was honest, told him she couldn't tell him his name, and that they didn't need a dad or another person to make a family.

2 - Izuku agreed while misinterpreting the whole thing. He doesn't realize that "I can't tell you his name" means that "I was slightly too shit-faced to remember it" instead of Inko not being at liberty to tell him and assumes there was some kind of deal so his bio father could preserve his anonymity. His young mind then does a Todoroki-worthy-conspiracy. He has a Hoard quirk, which can be pretty powerful with time. All Might has an OP quirk he never talks about. His father must have lighter hair than his mother. All Might is blond. All Might has many enemies and having a child would put the entire family in danger. And so on.

3 - Since Izuku was thinking that this was a really important secret, he never talked about it, right until Inko has an accident. The kind that left her in the hospital. Left with no money and the very real possibility of being placed in foster home, Izuku decides to seek out All Might.

4 - Toshinori almost has a heart attack when this random kid identifies him because his quirk is the shiniest of them all. Said kid asks him his help and Toshinori manages to misunderstand things even more. This kid with the afo quirk is clearly the offspring of All for One and he sought him out because after All Might killed his father, his family is now in trouble. Honestly, he would have helped anyone asking him for something as simple as money and a better doctor but in this case, it's even more vital to make sure someone like Izuku doesn't feel forced to go to the villainy path to solve his problems. Better encourage him to believe in the hero system.

5 - After she is out of the hospital, Izuku assumes that her son just asked All Might's help and is very "!!!!!!" about it but not surprised because her son is his number 1 fan. And she understands why, since All Might is so nice and keeps telling her not to hesitate if she needs anything and they become friends. Izuku, watching them, realized they never met.

+ 1 - Izuku admits the whole thing four years later.

+ 2 - When he gets into UA, AFO mistakes Izuku for All Might's secret lovechild and tries to get him killed. He never sees any of his noumus back.
