why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?

Writing is pain but I love those small moments when you're writing and a new character decides to spawn in out of nowhere and you suddenly have this AHA moment of "you 🫵🫵🫵are absolutely going to ruin [other character]'s life 🫵🫵you are their new obsession 🫵🫵"

I still love the fact that the entire Ironstrange community decided that Stephen fell in love with Tony after viewing 14000605 possible timelines bc he watched him die for everyone on Titan, watched him sacrifice himself for people he just met and essentially for the entire universe, watched him fall over and over and over again just to stand up and keep fighting because he had to. He’s seen every decision Tony could ever make, has seen every sacrifice-play he’s made, every victory and defeat, and decided ‘this one.’
Like, Stephen’s seen this man at his worst and at his best, probably knows him better than anyone else ever could, and he fell so in love with him. I will go down with this ship.

I wonder when the Noldor looked around at their dwindling numbers and realized that they were dying faster than they could ever keep up with.

The whole "A male is only born to the Gerudo once in a hundred years" presents a fascinating psychological crucible
By accident of birth, you're othered from the rest of your people. There is literally no one else like you. No one alive at least. You are born in the shape and in the shadow of long dead monarchs, Great Men.
But what does it mean to be a man in a society that is otherwise comprised entirely of women (I do not believe in gender essentialism; but I do believe in societal pressures). You are a boy and are constantly reminded of it. A boy without a father, without brothers; and when you become a man, you will never have sons of your own or even nephews. You're a single drop of masculinity in a ocean of mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, nieces; awash in femininity but forever separate from it. You are a man and that makes you king.
Before you're out of swaddling, you're placed on a pedestal. Elevated, in some regards. Afforded the greatest privileges available to your people. But they're not quite your people. However thinly it is presented, there's always going to be a degree of separation from everyone you know and care about. Your otherness is constantly reinforced, celebrated even. You're going to be a king. And you don't get a choice in the matter. You must stand alone, forever.
There are other men in the world, but they are not Gerudo. There are Gerudo, but none of them are men. The only people who could understand your struggle exist only as imperious statues and aspirational legends. They are Gerudo men, just like you, but they're not people anymore. They are kings, conquerors, shapers of history, children of destiny, great men. You are a man and that means you are destined for greatness.
Try not to crack under the pressure.

i just restarted totk (SPOILERS)
i remembered seeing the light dragon near the temple of time on the great sky island in the beginning, but it originally meant nothing to me besides “omg a new dragon!!”
i am simply in despair. the way it breaks up the clouds to clear your way towards the surface immediately after sending the master sword back in time is so heartbreaking. every time i hear that anguished roar come i just have to stop and watch her. every time i spot her in the distance i stop. i wonder if it’s how zelda felt in the castle all of those years during the calamity, waiting for link to come help her save the kingdom she’s devoted her life to, knowing he has no idea whatsoever who she is. maybe it’s nintendo’s way of equalizing. idk but it’s FUCKED UP

Which of the 4 jedi would say "What do you mean it's illegal? I do it all the time!" or is this something all of them would say
none of them have done anything legal since 19BBY, laws are guidelines to them on a good day -- they would all say that <3

after reading the pit babe novel spoilers i'm absolutely obsessed with the implication that babe only has "gay" (alpha/alpha) sex because he's worried about pregnancy scares. like. babe is the literal manifestation of "i'm not gay, i'm just terrified of knocking you up"
