Slender: The Arrival ’10th Anniversary Update’ launches October 18 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

The Slender: The Arrival “10th Anniversary Update” will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 18 for $19.99, developer Blue Isle Studios announced. It will support English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese language options. All pre-orders will include a free copy of Valley. Xbox Series pre-orders are available today, while PlayStation 5 pre-orders will begin on September 19.

This revisualized version of Slender: The Arrival will arrive in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary. According to Blue Isle Studios, “every shadow, every material, and ever hair-rising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man” has been rendered in “stunning detail only possible with Unreal Engine 5.”

The new version will also include a new chapter—a new story where Charlie Matheson’s father experiences his worst nightmare.

“It’s been 10 years since the original launch and we’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to improve and add to the game,” said Blue Isle Studios co-founder and lead designer Alex Tintor in a press release. “There are many more Slender Man stories to tell, and we cannot wait to deliver on these experiences.”

What we know so far about the Slender: The Arrival announcement

(Special thanks to @them0rtal for making the post that helped me realize this is even happening)

#1: On June 22nd at 10:00 a.m., the official Slender: The Arrival Twitter account (@/PlaySlenderTA) made a post. It contained a 13 second video, along with the caption "He's waiting... #slenderman #slenderTA".

#2: At 10:07 a.m., the account for Blue Isle Studios quote retweets this post. They add the caption "The countdown has started: slenderarrival.com".

Following the link will lead visitors to the promotional website established for the game. Underneath an image of Slenderman, a countdown can be found.

This countdown is set to end in roughly 34 days.

Beneath a link to the Youtube upload of the teaser video, visitors also have the option to provide their email addresses in order to "stay tuned".

Aside from this teaser and the updated website, no other details about the project have been provided. Fans have begun to speculate on what this announcement could mean for Slender: The Arrival, and what type of product is being teased.

Ahead are a few speculations and theories on what this announcement could be for.

A remake/remaster of Slender: The Arrival. Due to the updated graphics in the teaser video and the fact that it references a scene towards the ending of the original game, many believe that this is a hint that The Arrival is getting a face-lift.

A continuation of the original game. Some fans, while playing the teaser with audio, have noticed that it contains the sounds of male breathing. Assuming that the figure on the stairs is Charlie (since he is the one guarding the stairs in the original scene this teaser is referencing), this breathing sounds too mature to be coming from him. This has led many to theorize that this could be a new protagonist, likely to be an adult male.

Others believe this could be a port to Switch, a PS5-exclusive remaster, etc.

It is currently unknown what will happen once the countdown ends. Many are assuming there will be an official reveal (trailer, proper announcement, etc.), which should finally confirm what exactly it is in regards to The Arrival.

I will be keeping an eye on this as best as I can. If anyone finds any extra information, please reply to this post!

On this day in 1970, rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix died at 27 years old.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix ,was a musician, singer, and songwriter. Despite a relatively brief mainstream career spanning four years, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music."

Born in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at the age of 15. In 1961, he enlisted in the US Army; he was granted an honorable discharge the following year. Soon afterward, he moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, and began playing gigs on the chitlin' circuit, eventually earning a place in the Isley Brothers' backing band and later finding work with Little Richard, with whom he continued to play through mid-1965. He then joined Curtis Knight and the Squires before moving to England in late 1966 after having been discovered by bassist Chas Chandler of the Animals.

Within months, Hendrix had earned three UK top ten hits with the Jimi Hendrix Experience", "Purple Haze", and "The Wind Cries Mary". He achieved fame in the US after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, and in 1968 his third and final studio album, Electric Ladyland, reached number one in the US. The double LP was Hendrix's most commercially successful release and his first and only number one album. He headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 as the world's highest-paid performer before dying from barbiturate-related asphyxia on September 18, 1970, at the age of 27.

Hendrix was inspired musically by American rock and roll and electric blues. He helped to popularize the use of a wah-wah pedal in mainstream rock, and was the first artist to use stereophonic phasing effects in music recordings. Rolling Stone ranked their three studio albums, Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, and Electric Ladyland, among the 100 greatest albums of all time and they ranked Hendrix as the greatest guitarist and the sixth greatest artist of all time.

after coming home from the shopping trip, you had discarded the untouched bag in a corner of the room and started working on your assignment, only stopping to order dinner. you had forgotten about the new clothes until a few minutes ago, when you met jihoon outside his studio for a walk in the slightly chilly november night. the slight pain in your ears reminded you that you had also forgotten to buy a cap on the trip. 

“yeah, about that”, jihoon pauses in his step, and you turn around to see him rummage through his bag, “here”.

he pulls out a blue fabric, shaking it open from its folded state. it’s the scarf from yesterday, you realize, the one you didn’t end up buying. jihoon steps forward and places it gently on your shoulder, moving it so that it won’t fall when he lets go. your hands instinctively clutch the fabric when a gust of wind blows, and you tilt your head into its warmth.

“you’re supposed to wear it, you know”, he says, unzipped bag still in his hand, “you’ll get sick”.

“when did you get this?”, you ask, already tying it around your neck.

“went back for it this morning”, he answers casually, and you wonder if the red on his ears is due to the cold, “you really liked it, so i thought – “
