I think one of the worst was the romanticization of fucking boarding schools

Those are the birth place of modern bullying, ridden with all kinds of abuses, they were largely used for the cleansing of ethnic groups and to this day they are still elitist hellholes who incubate the worse kind of stupid posh lords on Britain that will spend the rest of their lives doing bullshit traditional rituals and fucking people's rights

And Rowling looked at this crap and thought, but what if it was good ? No what if it was an great place

She literally had to make the dursleys an inch above sadistic monsters so the wizarding world won't look like the fascist nightmare it was, and the idea of being in this place wouldn't look bleak and horrible.

And now we have an entire generation who think the place rich people throw the heirs they don't want to raise is an aspirational dream

Poe Party came out the year I was in art school, and I fell heavily in love with ravens and other corvids cause I was drawing/painting taxidermy ravens a lot. I now wonder how different my life back then would have been if I had known the series existed
