Onlynight Crown Translation

Ay! Another translation! And this time it's one of the newer ones! And this must be the translation with the least amount of notes! Hai Glass being the highest amount. Speaking of Hai Glass..

This song is the continuation of Hai Glass (according to Seiyuu Animedia July 2022 issue). I haven't got my copy yet (it's still in Japan 😭), but according to my moot, Yeon, the story is more about Cinderella expressing her happiness in the ball. She knows very well that her time is slowly running out. The lyrics definitely described it perfectly~

I was already excited about this song when I first heard the preview and the description made me even more excited. This is why i decided to translate it ASAP. And in my opinion, Makonyan really improved his English in here! The grammar makes so much sense! His pronunciation really improved, too!

With that being said, I would like to point out the usual...

I am NOT an expert in Japanese and I'm still learning around the ropes. I apologize if there's any inaccurate translation. I did my best to make the translation as accurate as possible. Even if it's not 100% accurate, it still has the idea of what the original is trying to say.

⑴. The first bump I have in this translation. I couldn't find a proper meaning to 「明かそう」 (akasou) but this is the closest I can get. It might be inaccurate, but still has the idea of what he's trying to say.

⑵. It's about 90% accurate. Still has the idea of what the original says so don't worry ^^

⑶. I would like to point this out. In the lyrics, the "candle" part is written as 「灯り」 (akari) which means glow or illumination. Was about to say "illumination" but saw in the furigana that he pronounced it as 「キャンドル」 (kyandoru), which is "candle".

⑷. Oh god I never thought this small sentence would made me go insane. Okay, so I'll point this out again. This has a similar issue with note ⑶ where the kanji 「矮小」 is pronounced as 「わいしょう」 (waishou). Btw that's the pronunciation I found for it. But when I looked at the furigana, he pronounced it as 「チャチ」 (chachi). Unfortunately, I have no idea what 「チャチ」 means so I resort to the meaning of 「わいしょう」. Even when I tried to dig the internet for it, it still didn't gave me an answer. The only closest result I got is an orca lol. Update on this issue: I found out some people use 「チャチ」 to say "cheap". Take this information as you will. It could either be "diminutive" or "cheap".

⑸. Ah okay this was actually a pretty interesting find. Oorasu 「オーラス」 is actually a made up English term by Japanese. It's a combination of two words, "all" and "last". I just wrote "all last" lol. But it's also a mahjong term meaning the "last game" or "last round". At least, that is what I got from some native people's explanation. I also found that oorasu can also be equivalent to saying "finale". Which is why I wrote "finale" as an option. I honestly thought oorasu just mean "aura" or something. Surprise, surprise you end up learning a mahjong term.

Okay @princekirijo you want an essay? Well here it is now, or as I like to call it Felix's "Asumari is great and this fandom has no fucking taste" rambling and infodump. Congrats fellas, thanks to Prince you ALL get an asumari essay. But before that I'll try to give you a rundown of Mari and Asuka.

(I'm also so sorry for putting this long ass post on everyone's dashboard)

(Spoiler warning for Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time!!)

Alright on one hand we have Mari Illustrious Makinami. Her whole deal? She's a walking ray of sunshine, literally lol. Unlike any other character in the Evangelion franchise she doesn't suffer from her trauma, she's quite literally the only healthy and functioning human being, she's just slightly leaning towards "batshit crazy" with the stunts she pulls 🤷‍♂️. Other than that she just loves living, she loves being with people, she keeps moving forward, stays positive and decides to live life to it's fullest even after she experiences loss and multiple apocalyptic events (Second Impact, Third Impact, etc.) and she really just embodies the joy of living. That's all there is to her, or at least all we know.

On the other hand, we have Asuka Langley Shikinami who is... well it's hard to explain what she is to be honest. She's part-German and part-Japanese and part of a line of clones specifically made with the purpose to pilot an Evangelion and later on be used as a sacrifice to trigger another Impact (ITS COMPLICATED I KNOW-) Asuka is, unlike Mari, very much suffering from her trauma. She doesn't have her parents and has a very deep seated belief that she's completely alone, which she says doesn't matter as long as she can pilot the Eva. She also very much wants to fight and kill angels all by herself, and it's seriously messing with her when she can't achieve that.

Now we get to the more interesting parts (hopefully this so far wasn't too confusing, then again it's Eva and even I can't fully wrap my head around it all LMAO)

In the second Rebuild movie (Evangelion 2.0 You can (not) advance) we get introduced to both of them, Mari's introduction scene (in the original English dub) has her pilot an Eva and singing about how she'll take the world on by herself, while in the third movie's (Evangelion 3.0 You can (not) redo) opening scene she's piloting the Eva again but this time it's together with Asuka (in her own Unit 02 though) and during that Mari sings about how wonderful it is not to be alone. It's nothing big yet, but it's a really cute detail me thinks,,, you know what else I love about them? They bicker and they banter and it's genuinely so fun to listen to shskdhsuwj

(For a quick catch up: During the end of 2.0 Shinji (the protagonist) triggers another apocalyptic event, the Near Third Impact, and was only stopped due to Kaworu (the guy in my pfp) stepping in. Also between 1.0/2.0 and 3.0/3.0+1.0 are about 14 years (without Shinji bc he's like comatose) where A LOT happens AND we learn in 3.0 that Eva pilots don't age physically bc of "The curse of the Eva"... honestly Eva is wild lmao)

Okay okay I'll get back to it!

So one thing that happens is that Asuka during 2.0 develops a crush on Shinji (girl why-), unfortunately things take a turn for the worse. Asuka had volunteered to be the testpilot for a new Eva (Unit 03), she seemed happy at the time and it was a really sweet build up with the "I can smile, I didn't know I could still do that."-line. And then? Then it turns out the Ninth Angel had infected Unit 03 (Angels are basically the Kaijus they fight using Evas btw). The thing goes on a loose and Shinji is forced to fight it (With Asuka inside mind you), he refuses and his father uses an autopilot to destroy Unit 03. And boy did it destroy the angel, well it and it crushed Asuka between its jaws (you can actually hear her scream btw haha pain :)).

Asuka survived though, but the whole incident cost her her humanity and she ended up becoming an angel herself/she took the place of the Ninth. But despite that, there's one person who keeps believing in Asuka's humanity, who fiercely believes Asuka is still a human and tells her as much.

Yep, that one person is Mari and she keeps holding onto that belief until the very end when Asuka uses her last resort, which is using the power of an angel (Doing so was a guaranteed death sentence btw). Mari's own words (in the German dub) were, "Princess, you're giving up being human…" AND IT MAKES ME SO EMO GOD FUCK

While I'm at it, Mari and Asuka are a fucking killer combo as a team. They rely on each other for support in combat, listen to the other's orders and advice. Especially in Asuka's case it's kind of a big deal that she so openly relies and counts on Mari's support. Like these two trust each other with their damn lifes!!! Holy shit!!

Guess what though, they also have nicknames for eachother. Mari always calls Asuka "Princess" or "(Your) Highness" while Asuka calles Mari "Four-eyes" / "Four-eyed chrony (idk how you spell that tbh RIP" Even better though, in the German dub Asuka calls Mari "Brillerella" as in a combination of "Brille" (German for glasses) and "Cinderella",,,,Cinderella and her Prince,,,Brillerella and her Princess,,, man, that was a gay fucking move of the translation team. Spoiler: I owe them my life.

Funfact: There's exactly two times throughout the Rebuild movies where Mari uses Asuka's actual name. These two times being when she watches Asuka "die" and be used as a sacrifice for Gendo's selfish plan and when later on she begs Shinji, "So please the Princess… Asuka needs your help!" And the best part? That wasn't even the first time she did that. The mentioned line came from 3.0+1.0, but she did that too in 3.0 with the, "At least save the Princess!" line (although her tone was much more...pissed, like she was really angry lol)

Remember the crush Asuka had on Shinji? Well due to the Unit 03 incident a whole lot of other shit got mixed into that and her feelings for him in general became really bitter (understandably so). Now Mari being who she is sometimes teases Asuka about said old crush but she really does want Asuka to get closure and sort that mess out.

As an example for the teasing, in 3.0 there's a scene that goes like this (please imagine Mari with a literal :3 face while saying that):

"Unit! Are you back in the game?"

"I'm on it, your Highness. But first things first, how was our little puppy (Shinji)? Did he sit like a good little boy?"

"He's exactly the same! Same stupid face talking mayhem!"

"That goofy face of his, that's what you wanted to see? Riiiiight?"

"Shut up! I went there to bat him one!... And I feel better!"

There's also a very short bonus manga that was released in Japan for Thrice Upon a Time's release that has Mari trying to convince Asuka to come with her on the mission to get Shinji, given everything that follows, it's just another thing to prove my point. And the final bit relating to that is this:

"Feeling better now?"

"Yeah, I do feel better."

That's the exchange Asuka and Mari have after they talked to Shinji, it's nothing special but I think it's really sweet and this time Asuka actually sounded like she was feeling better instead of when she was screaming after she nearly broke pretty thick glass with her fist (If she had hit someone with that much force she definitely would've broken something omggg #violentimpulsesgang)

To get back on track though: I already mentioned it but during the second half of 3.0+1.0 Asuka "dies" (and honestly that entire scene is worth its own in-depth post because its just one huge parallel to The End of Evangelion), the point is: You can tell that the loss of Asuka honestly hits Mari hard. Not only because of how Mari screams Asuka's name but also because of her expressions. They're pained, like really fucking pained and Mari even apologizes to her that she has to fall back due to the fact that she's injured AND because eveything is going wrong.

After the events of Evangelion 3.0 these two got seperated from eachother, Mari was with WILLE (the organization both of them are with) and on board of Wunder (the ship WILLE basically operates from) while Asuka was in a Village full of (Near) Third Impact Survivors. When they do meet again it went like this:

Asuka, barely back, comes to the door and calls, "I'm back." And within seconds of Asuka stepping into their room after the door opens Mari already runs towards her, arms wide open and she says, "Welcome back, your Highness! Good job. I missed you so much!" And she says that while she literally nuzzles into Asuka,,,like,,,what the fuck gay people real!!!

Best part? Asuka clearly has enough strength to push Mari completely away if she were uncomfortable, but she doesn't. Asuka merely wanted enough space to look at the room (because Mari managed to horde even more books lol) and play her game. During their entire renunion Mari keeps hugging her, and part of me thinks that perhaps deep down Asuka actually enjoys the feeling of physical affection.

Before we get to the last point though, let me say that Asuka and Mari have scenes in 3.0+1.0 that parallel Shinji and Kaworu's from 3.0. (Fyi Kaworu loves Shinji (yeah, like that, and 3.0 was basically them being gay as fuck for an hour) so like...do I even need to explain?

And then of course there's also this, the "Take care of yourself, Princess…" line. That is the last time Mari talks to Asuka and as much as that line alone already is so much, it's Mari's expression in particular that kills me. Because this? This soft, almost bittersweet expression she has, as she basically says goodbye? Because she knows Asuka will finally be happy and safe? It just makes me feel so much actually. Man.

In the end it's a fact that Mari loved Asuka, wether that is interpreted as platonic or romantic by someone is up to them. But it is a fact that Asuka was loved enough that someone wanted to hug her, was happy to see her, to praise her, was hurt by her loss, wanted her to be safe, that someone told her "Take care of yourself…" Asuka was really and honestly so loved that someone would tell her, "I missed you."

But Asuka? Asuka was too hurt, too wrapped up in her own head to actually see how loved she was by Mari (and other people) that she genuinely believed she's completely alone and always will be alone.

It makes the "Take care of yourself" line hit even harder to me, because it's not only Mari's goodbye, but it's a goodbye during the one time Asuka allowed herself to be vulnerable and admit what she really wanted.

And honestly? All of this? Its makes me feel so many things and I just love them so much man.

Sure thing, I’m always up for spreading the fandom love! I’ll be recommending between both AO3 and FFnet - our fandom is older than AO3, the fandom originated mostly on FFnet - actually, here’s a rundown of the writers who shaped the early fandom:

YarningChick: The Big Name Writer. Over 50 TCR stories. Her stories are actually what made me realise fanfic could be hella decent, and the reason I started writing TCR fanfic. Most older fans will be familiar with her work, and her influence is pretty wide-reaching across the fandom. Her earlier stories are predominantly fluffy fairytale stories, but her more recent stories are darker and longer in comparison.

Grignard: Was in the fandom about a decade ago, has mostly branched out into others now, but I still remember being hella excited when they wrote a new fanfic in 2013. 7 TCR fanfics, mostly fairytales.

fringeperson: Also was in the fandom over a decade ago, wrote 30 TCR fics. Their stories are mostly oneshots and short multichaptered fics - the latter either fairytale AUs or sequels.

There’s a big skew towards fairytale AUs, thanks to the influence of the early fandom writers, so that gets its own category, but most of the authors I mention below have written multiple stories for the fandom and/or are active members of the fandom. Please support them and leave reviews!

ok i just woke up from a nap where i was at a camp of some kind tranvelinh with at least some memeners of the wilds cast and we where like??? living in this super cramped house and had no money and so we were late to this original practice (maybe it was cheer camp?) and we are getting bossed around by this tall brunette lady (my best estimation included) who lookz like she’s played a cinderella step s sister before and she kept telling us to go home after practice after bringing us all together in a circle at the f end of the day and we would wait out by the cars and our car never had enough room for all of us and the other groups of girls cars were like limos or smth but ours Wasn’t and when u opened the door all you could see was this old woman’s really long feet and super long toenails and we just couldn’t get in that rank ass car so we would have to call or text our group leader (who’s mom was toenails and owned that house) ‘s rich friend. and dot from the wilds would always take this responsibility but while we were practicing and shit there was one final meeting (or at least the last meeting in the dream) were ugly step sister woman got us all in a group nd was talking about deancas and we were all waiting with bated breath and she must’ve been talking about an airing hs au version nd she was saying that EVERYone wants dean to have a deaf bf in a sweater and she was also wearing a sweatier i remember and she was dragging it on and on and eventually she said there will be No deaf bf in a sweater so i picked up my gym bag and water bottle and skipped out (we’re in a school btw) and went out to go wait by the cars and this time the car came but it was evenb smaller snd we couldn’t possibly ride w old toenailsbdh so i consulted the lady (no dot this time) tryna get a hold of our leader/boss’s rich friend and i went to go email him to get us a car and when she told me the email address it was matthew.morrison@gmail and i was so baffled that i woke up

Favorite season: Fall is my first favorite, Winter is my second favorite, and Spring is my third favorite! I love Fall because APPLES and Samhain! Samhain is my most favorite holiday~ And Apple Cider and anything Apple is my favorite food ever!!! And I love Winter and Spring because that’s my second and third favorite holidays (Yule and Beltane). I also prefer when weather is cool or cold because I like being wrapped in a blanket 24/7. Summer is the only season I don’t like all too much, but there are still things I like about it. Though I can only really enjoy Summer during the night time. The sun during the day in Summer is way too intense.

Favorite books/author: For starters, I love every version of Cinderella there is. It’s my favorite fairy tale~ I also have a few top favorite series, they are: Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black (and it’s sequels, this is a trilogy) Lament: The Faerie Queen’s Deception by Maggie Stiefvater (also a series) Warriors by Erin Hunter (yes, that series about cats, that is my childhood LOL) A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (also my childhood <3) Cinder: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles is the series’s name, it’s got quite a few books in the series and is a sci-fi version of multiple fairy tales mixed into one story, I’m on the second book now titled Scarlet and I’m IN LOVE with this series). aaaand I also really like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer... You’ve probably already heard of those... >.>; When it comes to fictional stories I prefer series over singular books because I get to spend more time loving all the characters in it. This is also why I love tv shows or cartoon/anime series more than movies (aside from Disney princesses of course! I love all the princesses!!) <3

Favorite song: I don’t have just one, I have a couple of them! Hello, How Are You is one of my favorites because I relate to it so much. The lyrics are the perfect description of my anxiety/depression battles. ╥﹏╥ This is my favorite English cover of that song

Merry Go Round of Life is a favorite because Howl’s Moving Castle is my favorite movie (well, it’s tied with the 2015 Cinderella for fav movie), and this song is just so light and magical~ Also, Waltz is my favorite style of dance so I instantly love any song that’s in 3/4 or 6/8. ♡

Speaking of Cinderella, Lily James’s version of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes is my favorite version of that song! 💖 Fire Escape is SO FREAKING CUTE and I get such happy vibes from this. It was in the Cats and Dogs trailer and I’ve been in love with it ever since I first heard it. Also the video for it is hilarious XD PONPONPON is another song I love because of the happy vibes! （＾ｖ＾）

Wolf Whistling Song is adorable and random and the singer has an adorable accent and the song is from the point of view of an anime character that’s obsessed with apples and you should know by now that I’m obsessed with apples so this song just speaks to my soul

Eternal is originally sung by Tanaka Rie, and it’s the theme song for the MMORPG that I’m addicted to (the game is Mabinogi btw). The version linked is one sung by Miku from when we had a Vocaloid crossover event! :D This song is remixed for basically every big update the game gets and I love all the variations so much! I’ve been playing this game since I started high school so it’s always really nostalgic when I hear this song. XD This is our original remix of that song tho~

The following isn’t apart of the tag but now i just wanna talk about my little simself~ This is kind of an outdated look for me. Since I stopped getting highlights, my hair is closer to a light brown than it is to blonde now, and I’ve grown out my bangs and am working on growing my hair out to be long now! I also stopped straightening my hair. But 3 years ago this hairstyle was absolutely a perfect match to how I styled it IRL. :D

Obviously I’m not a Fairy, LOL, but I’ve always been in love with Faeries so when I was playing with my sim self I made her a Fairy. I also just chose one of the fairy life time aspirations since there really isn’t a sims 3 aspiration that fits me very well. I’m currently working on a Sims 4 sim self and the “Leader of the Pack” aspiration fits me perfectly since I’m a guild leader on the MMORPG that I play, and that’s basically like leading a club, lel.

If I ever get my Sims 3 up and running again I’ll probably make an updated version of my sim self with longer hair and I’d make her a witch instead of a fairy, since I’m practicing real witchcraft IRL now (I’m Wiccan/Pagan) (∩^o^)⊃━☆ﾟ.*･｡ﾟ

ANYWAYS, if you’re interested I have my Sims 3 Sim Self put up on the Sims 3 Exchange. I know most people avoid the Exchange like the plague because of all the broken cc, but I can promise you that mine is safe to download, because I don’t even have cc downloaded on Sims 3 anymore! The last time I used cc was on my old computer. That stuff has never even been downloaded on this computer with all of my saves! All I have for Sims 3 now is a few basic nraas mods that are necessary to not have the game crapping out on itself all the time. So yea! Thoughts I had while watching Sleeping Beauty

I will say this until they stop: i lovelovelove the old school intros.

This book is bedazzled. I'm into it.

I want to have a song written about me that hails me.

The colors in this film are beautiful.

It always cracks me up to see people in the background not moving. Animation has come a long way.

Super glad we stopped with betrothing babies. Although maybe that would have helped me with my single status.

If fairies were real I'd want them to all come in primary colors.

I feel like giving the gift of beauty is a waste because she's probably already going to grow up to be pretty. Look at king Stefan and the queen.

A gift of song that she only used once, Fauna, but okay.

Maleficent is 100% one of my favorite villains hands down. She's bitter because she didn't get invited to a party.

The queen just called her your excellency, so why wasn't she invited? She's obviously a powerful fairy, there's no reason she couldn't have come.

Fun fact: the voice of Maleficent is the same voice as Lady Tremaine from Cinderella.

Although I think it works much better this time around. Every time she says "fools" or laughs, I get chills.

14. It's a good thing Maleficent came when she did or Merryweather's gift could have been the gift of cooking. 15. We've already established Maleficent is a powerful fairy, did they really think burning all the spinning wheels would work? 16. "I'd like to turn her into a fat old hop toad" I love you, Merryweather. 17. "She always ruins your nicest flowers" lol Maleficent is really just a troll. 18. Fauna is the only one excited to raise a baby like it's super easy. Especially without their magic, which they've never gone without. 19. The castle that Maleficent lives in would make a great edition to the Haunted Mansion ride. 20. Maleficent is upset that her henchmen are dumb because they've been looking for a baby, but why haven't you checked in on this once in the last sixteen years? 21. Diablo gets it done right. 22. I love how villains' pets used to literally be named after the devil. 23. The fairies are sending her out barefoot. It's a forest, y'all, it's probably dirty. 24. If they've never sewed or cooked, how does Briar Rose have clothes? And have they just been living off berries for the last sixteen years? 25. This whole scene with Fauna trying to bake and Flora trying to make a dress is hilarious.

26. Since Ariel is the next princess, I'm pretty sure this is the last movie that involves singing to birds to get their help. How tragic. 27. Briar Rose is a brave woman to walk across that branch. 28. Phillip is entranced by Briar Rose's singing voice but that does not sound like the singing voice of a sixteen year old girl. It sounds like the singing voice of an opera singer. 29. Briar Rose keeps saying things to the animals in such a way that the owl can ask "who" which is super clever. 30. "They say if you dream a thing more than once it's sure to come true". You and Cinderella should start a club. 31. There's a Tsum Tsum of the owl dressed in Phillip's clothes and I've never needed anything so much in my life.

32. LOOK AT IT. 33. Anyway. 34. Is it cute or coincidence that she dreams of Phillip, whom she's only met once as a baby? 35. I love singing along to Disney movies. 36. Briar Rose is extremely freaked out to see Phillip and she has the right idea. 37. But it's still really cute to watch them dance. I love "Once Upon a Dream". 38. Briar Rose pulls a Cinderella and runs away from Phillip before giving him her name, but at least she told him where she lived. 39. Merryweather is actually me IRL. 40. I always want magic when I see fairies in Disney movies. It's so convenient. And I would love to be able to get brooms to become sentient to clean my house. 41. The fight between pink and blue is honestly my favorite thing about this movie.

42. I almost feel bad that Diablo found them when they were so careful about trying to plug every hole so the magic wouldn't show. 43. Good thing she's in love with the boy who she's betrothed to. 44. "BTW you're a princess and your name is not Briar Rose." How have they not told her in sixteen years who she is? She probably would've been excited to go back if she knew. 45. King Hubert is also me when food is around. 46. I feel like this scene with Hubert and Stefan is the most accurate portrayal of life in the 14th century- eating, drinking, wanting to marry Aurora and Phillip ASAP... 47. Hubert is trying to stab Stefan with a fish and that is why you should not drink and fight, kids. 48. "Now, father, you're living in the past. This is the 14th century!" So modern, Phillip. 49. I love how Aurora's dress is blue but ended up pink in merchandise and stuff because they didn't want her to look too much like Cinderella. 50. Maleficent in the fireplace is scary as hell.

51. I always love irony and events that lead to what they were trying to avoid in the first place. Like if they had just told Aurora who she was, she wouldn't have been upset, and she would've been reunited with Stefan instead of going with Maleficent. 52. Aurora following the ball of green light is so suspenseful and creepy and I am here for it. 53. They could've waited five more minutes to leave for the castle and the sun would've gone down and the curse would've been broken. 54. Fun fact: Aurora only has eighteen minutes of screen time in the whole movie, despite it being about her. 55. I thought it was pretty smart of the fairies to put everyone to sleep. I would not have thought of that. Probably why I never got my letter to Hogwarts. 56. Phillip going to the cottage and Maleficent saying come in is giving me such "Little Red Riding Hood" vibes rn. 57. Did I mention how much I love Eleanor Audley's voice? 58. I'm not sure how Phillip's hat means Maleficent took him to the forbidden mountains, but maybe fairies are secretly detectives, too. 59. I wonder what kind of animals these henchmen are. 60.Some sort of pig creature maybe.

61. If I may say so, Aurora is quite a beautiful cartoon. 62. I love that they mentioned the 100 years thing that was in the original story, but I don't think Phillip would be alive to do what Maleficent wants. But that is some grade A torture and I love it. 63. I want a sword of truth. Idk what I'd do with it, but I want it. 64. Even though Diablo deserved it, I'm still always sad when he gets turned to stone. He's still a precious animal! 65. I need Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather to help me out in my daily life. They seem like they could really do a lot for me. 66. If I saw those thorns, I'd probably forget it and just leave Aurora be. 67. Maleficent is surprised Phillip got through the thorns even though he had a sword. 68. Maleficent as a dragon. That is all.

69. She really is my favorite villain, I think. I mean she curses people for no reason, she has the best laugh, she can turn into an awesome dragon... 70. This is only one of two times a villain has died by the hand of a prince or princess. 71. That was probably a nice little nap for everyone. Where can I get a sleeping curse? 72. I love how now all of a sudden Aurora is chill with being a princess now that she can marry who she wants. Freedom of wills, I suppose. 73. At least Maleficent died so that she can't interrupt this party she wasn't invited to. 74, No one notices her dress changing from pink to blue lol. 75. I love Aurora and Phillip dancing in the clouds. It's such a pretty scene/ending. 76. And they lived happily ever after.

34.) Who would wear “if lost return to…” t-shirt/ Who would wear “I am…” t-shirt?

Let’s be honest: If they were going to wear these shirts, Ash would definitely need the “If lost, return to Misty” shirt, and Misty would need the “I’m Misty” shirt. However …

Ash would be Offended™ at the idea that these shirts are even necessary, because a.) he is a perfectly capable trainer (and soon to be Pokémon Master) and doesn’t need to be babysat / watched over / “returned” to anyone, b.) he doesn’t get lost, Misty gets them lost and she does it all the freaking time—

And that’s when Misty would get heated because oh, really Ash, really, you’re really going to try to pull that one? You’re going to pull that one when you’re so directionally impaired that “you couldn’t find your way out of a mirror!” (That’s a direct quote from canon, btw—or at least dub canon, not sure what the line was in the original.)

“Well, you BREAK mirrors!” (And that was his canonical reply.)

At this point, Misty is so heated that she says, FINE, she doesn’t want the “I’m Misty” shirt that Brock and Tracey had tried to give her anyway, she instead needs one that says “KEEP HIM” because that more accurately conveys how she feels!

Of course, now Ash is Even More Offended™ at the fact that Misty doesn’t even want him (like, he doesn’t need to be “returned” to her and he is way better about not getting lost than she is, but why doesn’t she want him??), and because he’s Even More Offended™ but has no idea on how to sort through these feelings, what they mean, or what he’s supposed to do with them, he just says pretty loudly that, fine, yeah, that sounds GREAT, and he’s going to get a shirt that says “KEEP HER” because that conveys how HE feels!!

So they both end up wearing shirts that just say “KEEP HIM” and “KEEP HER” and make no sense, and they’re standing apart from each other, fuming, while Pikachu dejectedly tries to get them to make up over it, and Brock and Tracey—both of whom, it should be noted, started this whole mess (and really, Brock has no room to talk because he’s equally as responsible for getting them lost for 75% of Kanto as either Ash or Misty are)—just look at each other for a moment before discreetly sticking signs on their backs that read: “I’m Ash; if lost, return to Misty” and “I’m Misty; if lost, return to Ash.”

(After both Ash and Misty have gone to sleep for the night, Brock—on Tracey’s suggestion—sews those messages onto the backs of the shirts.)

35.) Who goes overboard on the holidays?

It’s a little bit of both!

Misty gets really excited to celebrate holidays in special ways because she didn’t have too much of that growing up. Since her sisters were always kind of big sister bullies (I don’t agree with how fandom sometimes portrays them as horribly abusive for angst purposes, because it’s clear that Misty wasn’t treated like Cinderella, but they did bully her and even do in canon and that’s not really arguable), Misty often felt left out of celebrations growing up, or else she was picked on by her sisters and that soured things. So when she’s with Ash (whether during their journeys or later on in life, in adulthood), she gets excited at the prospect of being able to genuinely celebrate and tends to get really into it. She likes to dress up in holiday-appropriate clothes, partake in traditions, get special gifts, et cetera. She plans weeks in advance because she’s so excited she can hardly stand it.

Ash is much less of a planner, and tends to forget about holidays until they smack him in the face, mostly because in his childhood Delia was always the one to do all the planning (and thus he never really had to think about it). But when the holiday does smack him in the face, he also gets really excited about it, because he loves holidays. I mean, Ash loves reasons to celebrate and party in general; he’s very big on having fun and goofing off with people he likes / loves, and holidays give him a good excuse to do that. So when the holidays come around, although he forgets and procrastinates and sometimes has to scramble for gifts at the last second, he tends to get very into it and is always very excited to partake in whatever holiday tradition, even if it includes wearing ugly sweaters. (And you might think, “Really?” but remember that outfit he wore in “March of the Exeggutor Squad” when he and Brock first arrived at the carnival. This little number here:

Ash razzes Misty for her fashion sense at a couple different points throughout the series (most notably in “Pokémon Fashion Flash” and a little later in this episode, because although the dub dialogue is “that’s a real cute outfit, Misty” and, in text form only, that might seem like a compliment, he’s smirking and Veronica Taylor’s delivery is sarcastic; he’s teasing her), but he really has no right after that disaster. Even Pikachu was too embarrassed to be seen with him, jfc.

So yeah, he would get really into it, too. No question.)

38.) Who likes to star gaze?

Both … but for slightly different reasons.

Ash likes to look at the stars as he falls asleep outside, and it’s for this reason that—on nice nights—he prefers to sleep outside rather than finding a Pokémon Center to crash in. Looking at the stars as he falls asleep calms him, but in a weird way it also excites him. It makes him think about how massive the world is, about how much there is to explore, about how much adventure he still has to go on. He really wants to be a Pokémon Master, and part of him is impatient for that, but a larger part of him isn’t upset that his journey is continuing for the foreseeable future. He has wanted this for as long as he can remember. And when he looks up at the stars, and sees the billions of them in the sky, it reminds him of how small his little patch of earth is, and how much world there is out there, and how much there still is for him to do. That makes him happy, and makes it easier for him to fall asleep.

Misty, on the other hand, likes to look at the stars because she thinks that the idea of stars and cosmos is somewhat romantic. Like, there are romantic clichés about stargazing, but it’s a bit more than just that. That might be part of it, but Misty also thinks about the fact that everyone is under the same sky. In a different part of the world it’s daytime, so those people aren’t seeing the stars, but later they will. The sky connects people, even more than the sea does (though she won’t admit that part out loud), and so when she looks at the stars she likes to think that people she cares about, people that aren’t with her right then, are looking at them, too. When traveling with Ash, she wonders if her sisters are looking up at the night sky. When she’s back at the Gym, she wonders if Ash is. Regardless of where she is, she wonders if her parents are alive, and if they are, if they’re looking at the stars, too. (I headcanon that they disappeared in a ship accident and are presumed dead, but when Misty is ten, she still holds out hope that they’ll come home someday. Brock’s dad did, right? So it shouldn’t be impossible for hers.)

So they both like stargazing, but their thoughts are in different places when they do.

47.) Who has the more complex coffee order?

Misty, but this is more because Ash doesn’t drink coffee (outside of one specific AU I have where he ends up picking up the habit due to the specific set of circumstances he’s in / company he has). Misty tends to like things like frappuccinos and other frozen coffees, and likes to experiment around with flavors and the like. Ash doesn’t get it; he thinks that the coffee taste is too strong no matter what she does to it, and doesn’t get why she likes it, and just … just doesn’t understand at all, and so when they go to a coffee shop he usually just gets hot chocolate or something. (Which, in all honesty, is fine, because that boy does not need caffeine.) So Misty wins this round, but mostly because Ash isn’t participating.
